it is more painful to connect internet connection with gsm network. Most of the gsm provider fo the world cant auto configure by auto configure sms . it is more painful experience for Bangladeshi user. Blue tooth connection with other remote device is not so easy. So p535 thus entered and go back with silent.

For that You will have to format your set and reinstall windows mobile. What you can do is install SPB mobile shell in English. I did it to mine and although the start menu is still in Potuguese if you use it in Mobile shell mode its in English. for Serials got to this site There you will find serials for various of their PROGRAMS. I have WM6.1 installed on my P535 with 4GB mini SD card. I have at least 3 GPS softwares installed, GPStuner v5.3 (offroad GPS), mapking2007 (car GPS), and Google maps (no need to install maps, but needs wifi or GPRS connection), these 3 are my favorites and are working very well. I use Nimbuzz (via wifi)to chat with friends and family. I have a lot of softwares installed on my Asus P535 and I had been using this PDA phone for almost 3 years already. I have tried to install WM6.5 on it and it worked, it's beautiful but slows down the phone and freezes often. So, I reverted back to WM6.1 and it's very stable and runs very well. I have SPB mobile shell 3.5 installed which makes the interface very neat and modern. If you like to to update for new or free softwares, I have useful links I want to share. In Google maps, the notification "CURRENT LOCATION IS UNAVAILABLE" shows when you have not turned on your GPS and or have not connected yet to the GPS satellites. The GPS settings should be COM 2 and baudrate 4800. If you have other GPS softwares installed, try to run it and connect to the GPS satellites. Then, exit that application and open Google maps and activate GPS. It should connect in less than a minute. Try it..But you need to be connected to wifi or gprs when you use Google maps.

you don't need to format the Asus p535, it's only the mini SD card that you need to. If ever you install a new OS (flash ROM), the phone is automatically reformatted back to factory settings. All your files saved in the phone memory will be lost. So, always remember to back-up all important files.

I have had my p535 upgraded to WM6.5, it is beautiful but make the phone slows and freezes very often.. and the ROM I got had tomtom 7 included in the OS together with other softwares which I find not important. Try it, here is the link to the ROM for WM6.5: To install, copy the file galaxyII.nbo to the mini sd card and don't put inside the folder (no other files except the ROM, preferably newly formatted card). Make sure you backed-up already all your important files before you proceed. Then, press Press button Rec + Camera + Power and Reset (Must be reset to BootLoader white screen). If this is your first time, I suggest you download the ASUS.UnlockLangID.exe with the detailed instructions for flashing from this link: From there, look at the bottom of the list, then Click the link: PDAMobiz_P535_WM6.1_Build19716_1.1.rar It has the cooked version of WM6.1 ROM　included (which I am currently using after reverting from WM6.5) and it works well, just incase you need it. Included here are other softwares needed for flashing the ROM with instructions too. Ｅｎｊｏ­ｙ！

AsusP535-Humble Cinderella among lazy step-phones! ------------------------------------------------­-- I bought "Asus P535 triband" instead of "HTC Touch Viva" for Rs.12200/- from Wavetel velachery, chennai-42. There is a cheaper model @ Rs.10,000/- that matches HTCtouch but I took this because it is still cheaper than HTC counterpart but performs better. It has impressive onboard memory(256MB NAND Flash ROM and 64MB SDRAM). The processor (520MHz Intel� XScale) is so fast(can be adjusted using the built-in utility from Asus), it can handle any job thrown at it. By the way, my favourite place to get windows mobile software is ppcsoftz.blogspot.com. The touch screen is good. I recommend installing the VITO ZoomBoard(Not inbuilt) for typing in qwerty. Once it is installed, you can switch between this and the default keyboard. You can easily use your fingers for typing because, it the key you are touching and allows you to change it before getting typed. It may appear big. But it is lighter than its appearance. Phone and sms functionalities are good. Even skype works well. I also used VZOmobile and had a video chat using wifi. You can download Microsoft myphone software and sync your phone data to your account in internet. I am very happy to own this phone except when somebody asks me if this is imported korean phone. FYI-It is not. It runs Microsoft Windows� Mobile™ 6 Professional. If you can't live without radio or Infrared, U can see something else. For internet, I use wi-fi and link it to my bsnl broadband modem/router at home so virtually no cost. GPRS is also very good. No 3G/EDGE by the way. The GPRS & Wifi dont seem to like each other so disable one to use the other-I activate a dummy GPRS setting while using wifi. The GPRS setting was a little confusing. I use Vodafone, and they had no idea about setting up GPRS in windows mobile. I figured it out anyway and it is kind of easy. ------------------------------------------------­------------------------------------------------­--------------------------- Below are the settings & Procedure: 1) Goto: Start-->Settings-->Connections tab-->Connections-->Advanced(Don't use Tasks tab, it is misleading)-->Select "Networks"-->"New" button 2) Name of setting: VodafoneLiveSetting 3) Select "Modem" tab 4) Select "New" button 5) Name for the connection: VodafoneLive modem type:GPRS 6) Access Point Name(APN): portalnmms Leave the username, password, Domain name as blank and the advanced IP settings to server-assigned. Finish. 7) Select "Proxy Settings" tab This Network connects to the internet : Yes This Network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet: : Yes Proxy server IP: 10.10.1.100 8) Select "Advanced" button, then click on each of following settings to make the entries: HTTP:10.10.1.100:9401 WAP:10.10.1.100:9201 Secure WAP:10.10.1.100:9203 Socks:10.10.1.100:1080 9) Goto: Start-->Settings-->Connections tab-->Network setting If an option like "Select your operator" is selected, deselect it. This should be done to avoid anybody accidentally resetting your GPRS setting. 10) Check if you have good signal from your cellphone operator(vodafone in my case). Enjoy browsing!!! Remember to disconnect any kind of wireless connectivity if not required like GPS, GPRS, wifi, bluetooth. They consume extra power. Oh speaking of which I remember, these extra connections will be disconnected when the phone goes to standby mode. So if you want constant connection other than phone line, disable standby mode. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the inbuilt GPS(SiRF Star III single chip), I use Google maps. Works great, depends on coverage of network(for loading maps) and GPS satellites(for the obvious!). The beauty of google maps is, that it caches the locations you have explored already to the memory, so you don't need internet for already explored places. Clever Google people ! GUI is plain and washed out. So installed SPB-shell GUI. Looks beautiful now. Very responsive even with SPB-shell running which others high priced phones are struggling to handle. It is documented to support Mini-SD & Micro-SD only. Here's my secret! It suppots Micro-SDHC also. That means you are free to use memory cards higher than 2GB. I use 8GB card, my friends i-mate does'nt support it! Oh but there is one tiny problem with the 8GB card, If the phone resumes from standby it will forget the memory card. 3 ways to deal with this. 1) Use the default card! 2) Disable standby mode like myself-I still get 2 days battery life-Thanks to the "1300 mAh Li-ion" battery 3) Find a patch/firmware which can fix this-I'm still searching and let me Know if U get! The 2MP autofocus camera is good. Flash light is the brightest I have seen for close range. The camera doubles as a business card scanner with the help of an inbuilt utility, and is very good at it. It came with a manual, CD(which I barely need), 2 chargers one for home power supply & the other to use in a car, a suction holder, a 1GB Micro-SD card, a v1.1 USB connector cable (ofcourse the phone will be detected automatically as a memory card with appropriate setting) The other goodies which are not very uncommon these days available in this phone are voice recorder, windows media player(I use TCPMP instead, it even plays youtube flv files with appropriate plugins). Asus utilities, Shortcut buttons for Volume-Camera-TaskSwitch-Call-Cancel-OK(very useful)-2FunctionButtons-AudioCaptureButton-LockSwitch(very useful), remote contor of laptop/PV via the v2.2 bluetooth, MiniSD card slot, 2.5mm audio jack(yes you need a high quality converter if you need high quality). Want more? It can even run Google-Android!!! Check the following links. I'm waiting for my warrenty to expire. I need to see if I can install openmoko-linux too: I don't find anything wrong with this phone except for its slave dress. Hope the fairy Godmother(Asus ofcourse) will give it a new avatar ! Hello Guys i am using this phone for more than 6 months now I can rate this phone based on my exprience Camera - not bad beacause when you go beyond normal zoom is not so clear phone Calls - I will say its so good compared to Iphone Batery backup - using WIFI will cause you battery dry soon or else normal phone usage will give you upto 2 days WIFI - 50% to it, because wifi always disconnects and you need to start the wifi again, GPS - ok do not eat more memmory in your phone rather save it in your card. do not download unwanted application will make you mobile die soon Thanks for lisening

I've had this phone for a year now. GPS works great, battery life is pretty much ok, about 2 days of usage(wifi, bluetooth, calling, gps etc.). I've had it with windows mobile 5.0, but since there was an upgrade to version 6.0, it was a better choise afterall. Now I have windows mobile 6.1 installer on this phone, which made it actually much faster and somewhat improved battery life. Camera on this phone is absolutely great, I've never seen 2Mpix mobile camera take so good pictures(trust me, I've had lots of phones in the past 2 years and most of them were smartphones/PPC's). Overall I'd say it's sure bang for the buck, ever more than that, ofcourse if You want a phone that can do more than just calling. 10/10 for me. when u plug the things in, the red light on the top right will have a red light until the phone finished charging, the light will turn on... on the other hand, when the phone is charging, u can click the battery on the top right corner of the screen and u will be able to see the battery charging status

I have trouble charging the phone. Whenever I plug it into the wall (I live in Canada), the phone doesn't say that it's charging and a red light comes on. It also charges extremely slow. However, when plugged into my computer's usb port, it charges fine. Is it a problem with my charger or is it the fact that it's a different voltage in North America?

leaving the issue of WM OS aside, which is a common between all the PPC WM edition, talking about the phone itself, it has good battery life, good shape, moderate light weight, very sensitive screen, a fine GPS compared to embedded GPS's, the speaker loudness is fine compared to Imate and HTC PPCs. talking about the drawbacks, the main one is the radio part, it has no EDGE, no 3G nor HSDPA, which makes using skype or any SIP applicaton useless, another thing is the camera which is not that good compared to any simple nokia phone, the keys are giving noise whenever u click any, the side lock key is hard to move up and down with you finger, unless your free hand not the one holding the phone with. all in all it can have 7.5/10 in 2G PPC.

FINALLY DID IT!!!! I downloaded the program regedit.Mrln_ARM in order to edit my ppc's registry and added the line as instructed by the following link After several restarts and turns off and on everything seems to work fine. My ASUS P535 now DOES use a miniSDHC 4GB without problems ( so far :) )

I am using this pda/phone for a few weeks now and i am satisfied. Yet, i am facing this problem. Quite often -specifically when the phone turns off and then on- my miniSDHC card 4GB (from Transcend) cannot be "seen" from the phone. Please note that i am using mindows mobile 6. I have to eject it and re insert it in order to access files in it. I have read in several forums (this forum included) that with a patch it can read without problems misiSDHC cards. Using it almost one year , i just love it! From wm5(best) to wm6(a bit unstale) , however gps works fine and speed very fast compare to others. Standy 1-2 days no problem but battary life ard 9 months ...need to change.

JJI, Rajko JJI, to install any region firmware, you must use a firmware (European in your case) from Asus site AND the PATCHED (not from the asus site!!) installer. The installer is called SORGs pack, google for ASUS language unlock utility. Rajko, go to asus.com and download the european firmware. Take the 4.17 version, for instance. I don't get what the problem could be here. I'm not satisfied with Asus - I had troubles with their wifi router until I got linux on it(unofficial firmware). My friend has two Asus laptops, and is always complaining on them. And I didn't want to buy the p535, but I had no other choice: I already owned an HTC and a Glofiish, and I don't wan't a Mitac. I'll sell of this bulky ugly piece of chineese plastic as soon as I get a Toshiba 920.

I put a GPS Software (Destinator 6)on my P535 and went i search for Connection Service is Finding in COM2 but when but when i am going to see the statistic in my GPS everything is 0 (zero). And in the navigation system is say "check your signal" . What happening?

I have been using this P535 since May 2007. I love this new smart phone so much. I am trying to response some people concerns here. For mskl, please make sure you are not turning on all the battery-consuming features. For normal cellphone usage, only turning on the phone, not bluetooth, wifi, GPS. GPS won't be able to turn regularly, only when you have the navigation software running, then you will able to turn on the GPS. If you are already doing this, then it must be your battery problem. My device can use for more than 3 days. If you need to use Bluetooth handset, it uses TONS of battery life anyway. For PrP}, it depends what contacts you have. It only accepts Outlook contacts. So, if you have Palm contacts before, you need to export from the Palm desktop software to Outlook first, then sync. Anyway, you can only sync with Outlook to get all the contacts, no matter what contacts file you have. For myself, I do have some questions to ask, hopefully someone can answer mine then. I am here to thank in advance. 1. If I am using WM6, it is true that installing a patch or driver then I can use a 4GB MiniSD SDHC card?? 2. Since my device is brought from HK, it is from asian region, so my OS is a chinese version. As far as I know Upgrading OS can only be upgrading to the same region OS. You cannot change region. I am now using a chinese version WM6 OS. So, my question is can i able to change to english version WM6 OS?

Sorry MAZE, the guy is named ExGANDI Rajko, to get the WM6 ENGLISH in a Russian(or whatever) device, do the following: donwload SORGs pack (it contains Region unlock and an patched uninstaller) and the Eastern Europe firmware from the Asus official site. Then follow the instructions in Sorgs pack (they are in Russian). I'm also getting very frustrated with the new tendency to create Operating systems for imbeciles, Windows Vista the leader. Vista is designed to be smarter than an average user and to judge for the human. I want the computer to do what I want. I will think was is appropriate and what is not. To the FRUSTRATED GUY named MAZE on the radio: 1) the radio is required to download traffic jam information via RDS.That's the primary use of radio in Etens and HTCs gps-enabled phones,as well as built-in car navigation (like in an X5 or Pathfinder) 2) I don't know why Asus saved on a 1 dollar radio chip in a so pricy device 3) in most cases, the radio is already integrated in the SirfstarIII chip.I don't know why Asus economised on implementation. Compared to my late Glofiish x500, this unit is considerably thicker and clumsier, and the plastic is of low quality (buy a silicone case at once). The processor is faster, but its almost useless on a outdated 320x240screen: Asus saved again for no obvious reason. It is uglier than Eten and especially HTC phones. Looks bulky like old Eten G500 or Mitac Mio 700 And the frustrating thing is that most of the Camera button cannot be remapped for something for useful. The bluetooth headset profile and operation is worse then in Glofiish or HTC. I experienced voice and music cuts with my friends Moto ROKR stereo headset.He also has a P535 and has the same problems (no problems of Glofiish or HTC). Today I'll get my Ritmix BT stereo headset and try it out, hope no problems with this one. In general, it's a standart WM5/6 GPS phone, no better than a Glofiish or HTC.I bought it only because I'm seek and tired of Etens (had G500 and X500), my X500 got smashed during sports, HTC p3300 is too damn slow (200mhz?in 2007?for Christ sake!), and Mitacs are too ugly. Other smartphones lack a BT module, or a Wifi module, or a GPS module, or are too bulky. Hope to exchange my p535 for a Toshiba 920 as soon as the latter will be available.

hi guys, i saw some really cool comments and ONLY ONE good comment about the battery life of ASUS P535. this guy who said he bought this P535 and could use it for 4 days as phone. thats great! on my case, i hardly used it, the battery run off and it lasted about 6-7hours. i was so angry and sad because my friends are using their PDA-PHONE for at least 2-3 days. whast the problem? can we have solution? i really cheated!! secondly, if i am using it as a PHONE, how do i make sure the battery life could last me for a long time? Based on read info it includes: TomTom Navigator 6 (no maps), car charger, car holder and Windows CE 6.0. It got to have an English version too, right. I just cannot anywhere to buy it. It even doesn't show on Asus website. Is it obsolete/discontinued already? Any suggestion where to buy?

re: maze the Mapking consist the GPS system, however, i turned it on and it moves, alot of numbers counting but i dunno what it is doing....i left it over night and the outcome was that it recounted itself from zero again ........which means there nothing happened

to marco, the battery will not last long if you have your gps & wifi turn on all the time. that consumes lots of power. if you have them turned on, then it will last like 5 hours only. but if you have it turned off, it will last like up to 2 days. besides that, you could also reduce the screen brightness when on battery mode as well as the auto off the screen for power saving.

to U3%7:, If you are from asia, then u can use the MapKing. U need to use it with another GPS software such as GPSgate2.0. This software will acquire data from gps. the mapking is just a map. it must use the data delivered by gpsgate2.0. I'm not sure if MapKing could get data directly from the GPS hardware from the PDA. I tried tht before but not working. so the conclusion is, u have to turn on the Gpsgate, then you can use the MapKing.

I'm frustrated by people searching FM Radio in this type of... hmmm... phone? Damn... If it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO important to have radio in the begining of 21-st century then, for christ sake, go buy some stupid handsfree with bulit-in radio. It costs how much? 5 USD? 3 USD? Nahhh... Ohhh... and 'bouth that dumb Simbian/Win "contest"... I have Simbian phone also, and it crashes and freezes even more frequently then WinMob. to U3%7: hello again. sorry but is the first time i heard about mapking 2007. i have been searching in the web and i just find maps for asia. if you are from asia it seems to be a good option, but you have to tried because i don't live in asia so, it won't work to me. the tomtom 6(and maps and igo 8 and all mi stuff): i have found it in emule, you can use any other p2p program because i have search, and i don't find any webpage that have the program. of course you can buy the program i think in the page of tomtom.

to U3%2: well if you want to use the gps first you have to install a GPS SOFTWARE, ok this are the best i know, you or other people can think diferent. 1) TOMTOM 6 i have it and beliveme is the best(to me) i have travel whit it and my asus, to italy and when i went to michigan in a trip was the most acurate. 2) IGO 8(i dont remember the name) is a very good program is faster never lag, have 3d buildings like google earth(no all the buildings but does the job) 3)destinator 7(my asus came whit the version 6) well i only have the 2 first instal in a 2gb card because i dont like the D6 but i have here good stuff about the destinator 7. well if you have a gps software just install it and go find signal and you are readie, is like use google earth, and READ THE MANUAL OF YOUR SOFTWARE, and download free maps and software from emule or other p2p program, is great, and free BUAJAJAJAJAJA sory to much..... jajaja

Hey, everybody. I bought this phone as it seemed to be the best for me. It was, except for the camera. When taking pictures it sometimes showed a grey line in the lower part of the image as if it couldn't transfer the whole info from the sensor. It was pretty frequent so I changed it for a new one, but it had the same issue, so I had to give it back. Anyone else had this problem?

Sam: Symbian is great. If we were up to count how many times does windows freeze, our head would expolde. Nokia wanted to put Windows in their PDAs, but after testing they realised that Symbian is better. I dont say that symbian is better (Asus P535 really seems like its great), but I have a symbian phone, and its not CRAP as u said. The truth is, that I didnt try Windows Mobile. Im really looking forward to buy this one, seems to be just perfect to me :)

I could rarely see a 3.5 mm Headphone jack on a PDA phone. (I had a HP PDA (No GSM Communicator) iPAQ that had a 3.5 jack, I could listen to the X-Bass Music with a creative HQ Headphone and enjoy very much!!

Hy. I just bought my p535 and it woks great. The only problem is that programs don't actually close when I close them, they keep running in background. Is there any way to close them (besides the long way:start>settings>memory>running prog)? And the landscape pictures are blurry while the macros are amazing...is that a general problem? Thanks.

I own this phone since June 2007, and it works like a charm. Pocket IE/MSN works great, the camera and its bundle software are amazing, the BT and the WiFi are good too. Weight and sizes are fully manageable. Skype runs perfectly. The only negative side is the battery duration with the WiFi connected, but AFAIK it's pretty normal for this product class.

to mBYU : yes, it will appear in the screen the name of the caller and two buttons(and the gps map will be in background), one for answer, and one for reject. if you answer the screen returns to the the gps mode. and you can talk whit the person.

I had bought this phone late January 2007. It work really well untill this few days where the battery started to over heat. It really scared me. The battery also lose energy because of the overheating. Anybody knows what happened? Due to that, i called the dealer where i bought the phone (AMS PDA MOBILE (PDA), LOW YATT PLAZA, KUL, MALAYSIA). Suprisingly, i received the lousy and un customerfriendly words from few of the staffs. NOT RECOMMENDED SHOP!!!! There ask me to send the phone personally to the dealler. I had sent my phone to the dealler PHONE STAR COMMUNICATION - they give me the best service. I really appriciate it... To those from Malaysia... I not recommend you to go to AMS. Go to others.... This pda does not have infrared port, I am very sure as the phone is sitting right beside myself. Bluetooth is very fast and stable. As for screen resolution, I am not sure on that because I don't find the fonts to be a problem. Camera, I have to say is 10/10 for a 2 mega-pixel (autofocus is excellent). Once again, highly recommend!! Also, I must agree that Asus P535 does lack the noises from the public but nevertheless, it's a very reliable phone!!

No joking this phone is the best phone!!! phone quality is excellent, pda speed is fast, navigation is perfect, camera is really good. When a call comes in, you pick up the call and when you end the call its back to navigation. No lag smooth!!! highly recommend!!! It's a little bit expensive but compared to other brands and their features, it's well worth the money!!!

Hello.Hany.I can tell you that on my P535 the voice quality and ringing are very loud and clear.The camera quality is the best i encountered so far and believe me i change pda-phones once a month,but you have to have enough light and to keep the camera very,very still,otherwise the pictures will be a little unclear. And of course pictures taken at night without enough light are not so good.If you want the video quality forget it.There are not enough frames and sometimes the picture is freezing.

I have bought an asus p535 3 weeks ago from Bangkok for which i paid aprox. 600 euro.In all this time the unit worked very well with no freezings.The camera is well.. very acceptable with natural colors and good contrast.The battery last about 2 days in heavy working and 4 days with only a few calls per day and a bluetooth headset.If anyone wants more details please ask me here or on the email.

The dimension needs to be updated. It should be 105 x 58 x 18. The search function on this site needs to include GPS as one of the standand drop down search as there are more GPS devices being release. The white version by far is the sweetest pda phone I've seen. This is one of those pda phone that doesn't make you look like a dork by putting a brick near to your ear. It IS the only phone that have GPS, good CPU, small and white. Did I mention WHITE???

EDGE is important to me. Cause it's very faster than class 10 GPRS which running at only 48kbps. So I can use PocketIE to logon to my corporate intranet to do some critical job by my phone without connect them to a laptop while I was not at the office. And at my country EDGE service doesn't cause any extra charges than simple GPRS.

N95 isn't a pocket PC, it's only a symbian smartphone with mediocre flexibility in comparison to the Windows Touchscreen PDA phones(Windows Mobile 5.0).. 4mp is useless for a phone coz it will not even equal the quality of the picture in a 4mp digital camera and N95 isn't make exception to that... and why need edge? this isn't a mobile phone, it's a pocket personal computer,.. ever wonder how people will be so demanding with features if ASUS would produce a laptop with phone functionality and then it lacks edge,3g or something they usually see in such mobile smartphones...

Thank You... you pretty needs some eyeglasses, it has GPS!!!... anyways: this is a pocket PC/phone functions in a PDA i mean and not a smartphone... who needs an obsolete hscsd?, and may i repeat this is a pocket pc, not a smartphone, so why need for a 3G? Wifi is better for pocket PCs other than 3G but is not good using it in smartphones(which guzzles too much battery due to the lower battery performance in comparison to pocket PCs) simply this is one of the best when it comes to multimedia, communications are also good enough and imaging and video is also good... and this has it's own design/hardware like Dell,fujitsu pocket loox and Hp ipaq unlike Imate,O2 and Qtek remodeling/renaming the procducts from HTC which jumbles the consumer's mind...

bashers: you haven't tested the PDA phone yet and you are bashing it already, just wanted to tell you that ASUS p505 is the best PDA phone in 2005 by in performance... and P525 is the fastest PDA phone according to benchmark and they are one of the best laptop/computer hardware and PDA makers in market... i can also think that this one could just compete with HTC models, P990 and even N95 in the near future... just a good phone at the specs, more better in software and performance for sure... (hope they could put ASUS crosshair mini motherboard and ASUS ATI video card in their newer models...LOL!)

Absolutely gorgeous! There is an error - it supports infrared. Anyway I am wainting for some reviews and comparisons of this beauty and Glofiish but I assume it's gonna be my next PocketPC.

Same as Eten Goldfish but will less features and fastprocessor & extra memory. NO EDGE Support. No FM radio and Battery life is very Low. Asus should give more feature then their compitator in the market.
