Wow! A good 7 years this has been running! But then I dropped it a bit too hard and it broke. It was a useful phone that was. I think that the damage that happened is fixable so I will just wait for it to get repaired :D.

Got a Motorola RAZR V3x secondhand for $29 locked to 3 but works with my Vodafone SIM card (3/Vodafone are the same carrier these days here in Australia). Lots of options for customisation. and it's very easy to activate flight mode from the main menu. Like having a LED light on the rear camera-takes great photos in both day and night lights. 2.0MP res is fine for me. Macro photos are quick to capture, with a slider near the internal camera and look great. I found that the BC50 battery from a Motorola RAZR maxx V6 will fit in the RAZR V3x-the V3x is shipped with a BC60 battery , but the BC50 has the same shape and battery connector type as the BC60 and fits fantastically.

Have you found it yet? Here's one example: Any BC60 Motorola Battery will fit your V3x, and those are legit products. They are quite cheap nowadays :)

hi animesh, with regards to your problem, i think there must be something wrong with your phone. Try to figure out the problem by inserting different memory card on your phone,if the problem still persist try to have youre phone checked. normally if you are going to insert any memory card on it, it wont switch itself off. so there must be a problem on it, but be careful, since you are using a discontinued phone, they might ask you a high cost in repairing this phone, try to deal with them more to pay less, and be observant enough while they are checking your phone coz some might just add a new problem just to have you pay more

hi there to make a video call, all you have to do is to press the green button when making a call, then select video calling. The speed? it depends on the strenght of the signal you have during the call. youll enjoy it after you try.

Its hard to find any themes for this phone. 2. you cant install any applications for this phone. 3. the camera/video quality is too low, it always appears to be blurred even if im using the lead flash. 4. Being a clamshell always gives you a disadvantage, you must replacce the ribbon from time to time since it prone to damage. 5. the rubber like skin makes it a bit ugly specially when they are scrathed off. 6. It is really slow in interet browsing. well if you think that not enough, i will give you more reasons

i recently bought a refurbished v3x for work. at first i was having issues with battery life but after i replaced it with an original motorola bc60 battery the phone is working great. what i love about the phone is the looks. i also love the internet speed of the phone since it is fast for a mobile device. the call quality is also greatl. i am beginning to love motorola now.

well i did like this phone. i had the crap silver. i wanted the blue one. that looked smart. well the phone itself was good slim not bad at photos. just the crap menu. no logic to it. i used to be on vodafone so i could get 3G TV, so when i was on dinner i used to watch TV, this was cool, same jittery picture,and breaking up but watching sky news on your mobile. was good. shame really.

Worst phone I have ever owned. It looks decent enough but everything else was a mess. Terrible call quality I constantly got complaints of low volume and terrible sound quality. And half the time there was a loud buzzing going on in the background of the call. After only a few weeks of ownership and no abuse.. it started to fall apart. I had to superglue pieces back onto the phone that had just fallen off, and the worst thing yet is somehow the front screen got all cracked to heck and gone. And not to mention the front screen in sunlight was pretty much impossible to read... then after it got cracked and started falling apart it was really impossible to read. Then there was the random shutting down, freezing and locking up that occurs on a daily basis. During calls it would just turn itself off, when charging it would turn off randomly.. when receiving text messages it would lock up and freeze for a while before coming back to life. Everything besides the internal display and looks of this phone were the worst I have ever seen in a phone before. The thing started to apart with very little use, call quality is beyond abysmal for me and the receivers, the phone constantly locked up and turned off by itself, and even the blue light gets real annoying when I am trying to sleep and charge it at the same time. Oh and the battery life is beyond terrible too. The thing won't even go a day on standby without nearly dying. Worst phone ever. Even if I got a lemon with the software, the construction of the phone is still universal and it is cheap, fragile and just overall BAD. I have to laugh sometimes because it is so terrible. I got myself a Nokia 6303 yesterday so we'll see how it handles up. But I am getting real tired of motorola phones and their terrible quality on almost every front. The only decent moto phone I have gotten was my V635.

I had thi one for short time, however it's horrible user interface, very uncomfortable keypad, ugly back cover (the cover from gunge :/), also when you shut down phone , everything what you were used before disapering (I hate this). Finally it's very slow phone. But what's the good, that the signal qality is very very good.

I have had my Motorola Razr V3x since 2006 and have had only the best service out of it and it's still going strong. Best phone I ever had. I use it for a modem on the internet with my pc and it works like a bomb. Very happy with it. Chris

Go to www.modmymoto.com. Register and you can download files and flash the firmware. It takes a bit of reading to get acquainted with the method. I did mine with RSD Lite, free download, google it. Just make sure you got the right version of firmware for this model. They also have custom skins and such. I didn't try those though. Just the original firmware back on my phone. Hope this helps.

This phone is absoultly spectacular as it has so many features u can never get bored. It really is worth the price as it is very handy. What i really like is the Camer. It saved my life. I was a my Sisses Brithday and my Digital Camera Battery Ran out, so i pulled out 'RAZOR' (what i call it) and took a photo of my siss. It is now on the wall for us to prize. To check 'clam flip count' (how many the mobile phone is opened-close the flip) press right, *, left, left, *, left, * in standby display. There will be 4 submenus. there is two problems in this phone the first one is its sound is so low which makes u dont hear it when ring. the second is that it has only one usb intereface for all the headphone, charger and the usb this made many problems.

I've had this phone for two years. It's small, medium weight, solid built (several drops and still fine), and two wonderful cameras. It's only 2mp, but considering the release (2005) is a bargain now (even the iPhone is also 2mp and no LED, not to mention the size). Near pictures when still are perfect in daylight (I quit using my camera with this phone indeed). However poor lit pics or far ones are not ok 'cause LED is not that bright. Besides, if you like videocalling, you'll amaze (second internal camera with VGA resolution how many ones are so now?). No radio but bluetooth and MP3 (though with miniUSB jack). So, if you're looking for something free or cheap, and expect from a phone but calling, videocalling and taking common pictures (even auto-timed pics that can be taken without holding the phone simply because it's a flip one and fixes well on a surface when opened), go for it without hesitation. I'm now trying to upgrade 'cause I love photography and long for a better pixel resolution in my phone (also proper flash). And believe me, I can hardly find any phone 5mp VGA-videocalling and pockety if not paying more than 300euros unlocked and still, not that well-built this one is. The motorola V3x is still an incredible handset.

motorola v3x external camera is not so good in resolution,image using the external camera of this fone is unsatisfactory. if you want to take a better quality of image/video you need to use the internal camera. so you cannot count on using the external camera when taking good mements of photos.

Hi Tim08. I'm using the maximum of 2GB Transflash SD memory card and it work wonders to me. The phone has a 512mb internal memory and if it has reached the limit, somehow the phone will have a snail phase. I think, IME in using this phone, it has 500 inbox/outbox capacity messages.

I have had this phone for 2 years now and it has had its pros and cons. Pros: It is a very fast modem as phone modems go.(depending on your SP of course). It has a good storage capacity (with the 512M card). Camera has produced some good pictures (but need to keep still). Charges up quickly Cons: Since I started using it as a modem, it sometimes has a "brainfade". It switches itself off. When you open the phone again after it has done this, the screen stays white for a few seconds before the signal returns. This is annoying if you are in the middle of a message. The blue colour is beginning to peel off revealing a black phone underneath. This makes it look tatty. Cannot get downloaded themes to work (maybe I just don't know how!! I have tried everything). Battery runs down very fast if you are playing games on it.

Good phone!! I have it for 3 years. Unfortunately, the ribbon gave up and need replacement. It cost me 32 Euros for the repair and replacement of parts. Overall, its a good phone. Nice graphics (2 megapixels), I seldom used the 3G but its functional, mp3 downloadable but without FM radio but its okey, up to 2GB memory card (I used the maximum capacity of 2GB and it doesn't hang for me), and, good and clear photos when transferred to a computer.

This phone is one of the worst cell phone that I have ever used in my whole life. It has too many bugs and need to be FIXED straight away. I had this piece of junk for nearly 2 and a half years and still owns, CRAP. Hi, Sandra. I have read a magazine in my country that said the maximum of video recording of Motorola RAZR V3x is 10 minutes only. To get 10 minutes video recording, you should have set the setting to save in memory card (microSD). Hope thus will help.

again.. you have to do seem editing on your V3X to "unlock" the MP4 (mpeg4) compatibility.. you can also change the V3X default 3GP video recording format to MP4.. goto the URL ive mentioned earlier - indonesian moto modder.

1st - for you all NOKIA fanboy who post negative comments on the V3X - let me ask you this "do you even own this phone??" note: with a big question mark.. i own one along with a nokia N95.. and all i can say that this phone has everything a multimedia phone can be - and better - its a clamshell type.. its 3G with bluetooth and a micro SD slot.. a very good build quality with rubber like material to reduce damage/ scratches over the casing.. an exellent 2MPx camera with video recording capability - i can surely say that the camera is one of the best in the 2MPx group camera phone.. and also the price - a very nice bargain.. i could name many more positive stuff about the V3X if i may.. this phone is a must have - i highly recommend this phone ;)

seems to have a lot of great features but i'm disappointed that the picture and video quality on this supposedly 2mp cam is worse than that of a regular v3 and even at a short distance the photos and video appears blurry!!! also the max length on my phone is only 3min even when using a 512mb mem card....my previous and again supposedly less advanced razr allowed 10+ minutes. i'm disappointed because the 2mp cam is the reason i got this phone. is anyone else having these problems and can they be fixed?

hey guys.....i had locked my v3x phone month ago....now the problem is that when i try to open it then it starts to reply with wrong lock code...i am very upset about this because my all personal data was in this phone including some important numbers...secondly,i would like to advise u people that not to buy motorola phone anymore because it has very low charge time....i had my phone when it was alright....after an hour when i wanted to call my dad...the phone waz warning me with low battery....i was surprised that i had charged it an hour ago and then i realized that it does not suit with me...and finally i have a very big problem is that i want to sell it but as it has the problem with the lock code so no one wants to buy it...im really sad....

this are things about the V3x.1)lifespan of the battery is VERY SHORT it can only go half a day when using frequently. 2)it doesnt play music well like nokias and SOny ericsons,its speaker is very(extreamly)soft even in maximum volume. 3)the camera say2.0megapixel but compared to a nokia 5300xpress music phone the quality for the v3x is 10times worse(not joking!) 4)Even if you create a playlist it requires the audio player(which can't be minimized!) to play the playlist compared to nokia which can be minimized and easily plays music!get nokia!! 5)you cannot make a call or do anything else while BLUETOOTHing a file!But you can answer calls while bluetoothing. 6)it cannot open files like picture and videos taken by Nokia N series(its will not open files like pictures taken with a 3.2mp phone). 7)the camera must be VERY STILL TO TAKE PICTURES even the slightest move messes the whole picture up. Thats all about the v3x. PLEASE get Nokia or sony ericson. If you get this phone you will end up regreting a lot!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I like my V3x so far. I've been using it for more than a year now. But I have encountered a compatibility problem with the OS I'm using now. This phone used to be so handy when it came to internet surfing. But now that I've changed my OS to Vista, it doesn't detect the phone anymore. Sadly I can't use it as a modem now. USING MOTO V9 AS WIRELESS MODEM Hi, If you bought a brandnew phone from an authorized store outlet / dealer, you could find in the package a software cd named "Motorola Phone Tools", kindly install it on your PC, follow instructions accordingly, then when everything is done-up, connect your phone via USB connector, so on and so forth,, follow the steps,, then on your pc screen there you'll see an image of your phone, kindly take a look on the menu there you'll see "Internet Connection" click it then BOOM,, you are now ready to surf the net just by selecting the browser... ive had this phone for a couple of years now **excellent in my opinion** it has its problems but thats just general wear and tear... it has been dropped a few times! the screen on the front when closed doesnt light up anymore and when i open it back up ive gotta hit the power button and it flicks back on also blue tooth doesnt work properly i can recieve files but not send plus i can never find anyone a friend has the same phone and bluetooth doesnt work properly on it either

I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!! it is so easy to use, install ringtones and download pics in a breeze!...eventhough i have a brand new Moto V9... still prefer using the V3x...the 3g quality connections is more than average...the unit is a little bulky as compared to the new phones coming out of the market but hey!!! nothing is perfect in this world....and the "bulky' side is what i love about the phone i will know that something is missing when i feel that my backpack or pocket is light....

Do Not Buy A Motorola V3x razor! problems i have experience after purchasing 2 on 2 24mnth plans...which i am still paying for! phone freezes up when making a call, will let me make call but freezes on connection,i will have to take battery out to turn phone off.. phone freezes with incoming calls causeing ringtone to stutter like a scratched cd till i remove battery and restart text messages freeze, in coming and outgoing needing battery removed and retart of phone.. one message trying to come in can freeze phone up or turn phone off completley up to at least 6 times befre message will come thru. (thats how i now know im getting a text) same with out going messages.. motorola would not fix any of them problems as i rang them 2 days outta warranty.. they said to master reset which has done nothing.. i still have 8 months to pay off on these phones at $80 dollars a month per phone.. Really unhappy about these phones i was never offered an insurance on them, my husband is now using a mobile of a friends while i am still paying for the razr! i will never buy another one of these or any other motorola products again! i also think that all phones should be covered for the time of the contract! otherwise in my case and alot of others people are paying for phones they no longer use! i must also add i have never mistreated my phone i dont use bluetooth i dont download and i have never had the chance to use video calling.. i do use the camera and video camera luckily these dont have any problems touch wood!

@ Joan On this phone, you can play your saved movies on an mp4 or 3gpp format.. But, this phone only uses a 3gp format when recording videos.. Then, this phone only uses an mp4 format when you record your videocall conference.. And, take note this phone can not play videos or is not capable of feeds via mobile streaming..got it? I have been using this phone long enough and after all i haven't experienced any problems yet, may be because i don't use it roughly, i take good care of it, i don't consume the total internal storage i just use the 40 - 50% of its storage so it doesn't freeze, lag, or among others, and most of my files are saved in my external memory card:) One thing i experienced once was when i tried to saved as much files as possible making it internal storage full - when i opened the flip the screen came to be white, it turned off then on.. then i deleted all the unneccessary files..so on and so forth..having done all these and all that, it never happened again..i'm not anymore facing problems with my v3x up to this point in time..and to tell you honestly i'm using this phone as a wireless modem for always..like what i do now.. -Rick (tm)-

to unknown yeah right,.... unfortunately i have it alredy but i was dismayed of its capability and "sickness" (somethin like that). it is true that it is not prone to viruses however it is still not a good phone. to those who dream of having a motorola high end phones, DON'T BUY! it's a good phone when it works. but I also get the "white screen" and blackouts occassionally during use. And then I had to put my sim into another phone for a few days because I didn't have my charger with me, and when putting it back in (carefully too, I'm not stupid), one of the little prongs in the phone that contacts with the battery broke. I was very surprised it happened, as I was not doing anything more than you should be able to do with a phone without breaking it. But for a low cost phone, it's still a good product. Just remember that if you get the lower priced phones, they don't last as long and won't be as reliable.

Everyone! To view pictures while listening to music, just select Hide and then press the power button for you to return to the main page,, then select multimedia then pictures and so on.. Same with net surfing, while music is on, select hide, then press the (red) power button to returna to the main menu, then press the blue world icon to surf the wap site.. @ Xian Alright, very well said, now everything is understood a little better!� Yeah, the one you mentioned regarding Emergency Only/ No Service.. i also experienced that one just a month ago, i thought my phone was the one having a problem coz i also happened to compare it to my other phoneS, the reason for that one is that the Network Service provider was having some system enhancements &upgrades, but now it's back to normal... Just a month ago just before i knew the problem, whenever my network setup is set to automatic i experience this type of problem (No network/Emergency Only) and then i tried to select 900/1800 mode then the signal strength becomes full / normal, i made a report regarding this matter to the Network Technical Team then eventually they said that they are having, like i said,system enhancements / upgrades,, so from then on everytime i experience this i always call to mind that this is just normal.. now everything is been back to normal even if i chose automatic there's no problem anymore.. probably it's always the 3G/HSDPA that is being affected everytime they are having enhancements.. i just noticed that Motorola phones have been sensitive for these phenomena.. or under Normal conditions when you still experience these things you could always put your phone into auto mode,, then to refresh the signal don;t turn it off,, just turn on the aeroplane mode then off again..and so on -Rick (tm)-

Dear Ricky (tm) Sorry i think you misunderstand me. Actually i knew what you are talking about. When i said compare i meant the signal. Most of the time when the signal (2G, 2.5G or 3G) is weak in particular area, my friends (what ever phone it is) have at least one to two bar but mine will show EMERGENCY ONLY/NO SERVICE. Even for my wife i bought her the Mot V6 the signal is much much more stronger than mine even we are in the same area. Maybe the version (yr mfg, s/w etc.)different i think..?? I've tried to select the band (in network setup) when ever i face the signal problem but it doesnt help much. I even complaint and argued with my service provider regarding the signal problem i faced and successful in getting some REBATE on my phone bill (ha..ha..) but this can't be long..

@ XIAN Sorry for that one, but i think you've been missing out one important detail about your phone V3x.. i mean.. V3x's feature is really different from SE & Nok's.. Let me reiterate that V3x offers automatic band switching from 2G, 2.5G up to 3G mode, Our networks now offer different signal types, namely: 1. GSM/GPRS signal (cellphone signal), 2. 3G signal, and 3. HSDPA signal,, let me tell you that these three signals are not the same alright? coz most commonly, people tend to consider these 3 as one! BUT..BUT..BUT it's a BIG Mistake! alright, here we go..When your phone Perceives a FINER signal, it displays it, one great example is the one you've stated, your phone perceives a 3G signal - it shows 3G on your screen & at this time it ALSO SHOWS how strong your 3G signal is on a certain location, let me just inform you that not everywhere a 3G signal is STRONG, it's weak on some places.. now, on places where there is only 2G/2.5G signal or the so-called cellphone signal - have you noticed that the signal strength bar is FULL?? alright, here is a tip for you, do you really like to test whether your phone's signal is malfunctioning or not? Go to network set-up, select Band, then select 900/1800 (GSM Band/Signal) then you'll notice that your signal is always FULL! One more thing, let me just inform you again that GSM / Cellular signal's coverage is MUCH..MUCH..MUCH.. wider than that of 3G or even HSDPA:) Mark that!:) Now on the case oo SE & Nokia phone, let me inform you guys that these phones only display the GSM/Cellular signal Strength, THEN..THEN..THEN.. you could only say that you do have a 3G signal when an ICON is lit or shown on the upper hand corner of your phone.. UNLIKe with Motorola, it is kinda specific to it, when the Moto phone perceives a 3G signal it displays an ICON plus it also indicates the 3G signal strength through Signal Bars..AND ON THE OTHER HAND, when the Moto Phone perceives a finer or stronger Cellular Signal on a specific area it show 2G or 2.5G plus it also displays how strong it is through signal bars..(pls remember always Cellular signal is much wider than 3G / HSDPA signal).. now did you get my entire point?:) -Rick (tm)-

Hi, i've been using this phone for more than a year and so far its still working quite well. I'm quite satisfied with it's performance. The only thing that bothering me is that the reception is quite weak compared with SE or even V6. Is it normal for V3x?? Or only mine have this problem. Actually i tired to change the reception chip or what ever related but the technician said that IT'S Mot STANDARD. One more thing is that now my V3x software is AS_U_85.97.F1P. is there anything better or even faster than this?? And how to get it? Thanks

thanks Rick but i am a very carefull person when it comes to gadgets. actually i've been very loyal to motorola however i was dismayed with this model coz its my first time to go to a repair center. I got a second opinion from a certified repair center and i found out that the ribbon wire is still in good condition. and they require me to come back the next day. however, i doubted to leave it there. the technician said that the problem is its software. can there still a possibility that it will be repaired? HELP ME ASAP!!! i'm already plannin' to shift to NOKIA

This is not a good phone and i simply do not recommend it for anyone. The reason being is as follows after a firmware upgrade was performed by the manufacturer: 1. Frequent software shutdowns/black outs (this was occurring before except that now it happens more regular) 2. Call drops (while on a phone call sometimes the phone decides to reboot itself or permanently shuts down) 3. Regular hangs/software freezes (this happens quite often whether it is scrolling through a menu or when the phone enters battery saving/screensaver mode or by simply just flipping the phone on/off) this is also followed by a blank white screen The only reason i use this phone is because it was given to me by my work as they have a contract for those. After having to deal with it i feel it is necessary that i make everyone aware of the down falls.

right well my v3x broke about a year and a half ago. ive just unscrewed it all, and unscrewed it and the usb connection has melted! the solder connection has melted! i always thought the phone overheated and it couldnt have been any good for it.

@ AVS There's no problem even if you purchsed your phone in Scottland, the problem is you haven't configured your phone's settings properly that's why you can't use your mobile browser in your area,, that triangle, on some countries, is sometimes replaced by an engraved globe icon, there's no problem they still have the same function,, what i want you to do is to Contact your Network Provider on how you could get your "Configuration Settings".. actually there are types: 1) GPRS/Internet/3G 2) MMS.. save everything that your network will send you and once done, make the GPRS/Internet Config Setting from that network as "your default" connections,, then when everything is clear, try to browse the site by pressing the triangle/globe icon on your phone's keypad.. alright? @ Fabrigs Sorry for that one, but i think you used your phone roughly, every phone from every brand with a Slider, Flip / Clam, and Rotate / Twist style uses "Flex Cables or Ribbons that connects from the main console to its screen, if you don't treat your handset right it won't last long,, My phone is more than 2 years now but honestly i'm not yet experiencing any of the problems stated below,, except when i tried to save huge amount of files making the storage full then i once experienced that it turned off but nothing more other than that.. so to prevent this from happening only consume the 40 - 60% of your storage.. pls refer to my early post about "Phone Care Guide & other Practical Tips" for further info.. -Rick (tm)-

hi. i have my v3x from scottland. i had its line opened but still there are features i cant actually use. there is some sort of connection to the network of scottland that i cant even use applications and games as it still needs some kind of license to the browser or something. i really cant understand it. its a triangle thats in the browser button instead of a globe thingy... and a sign of number "3".. im not familiar with it, how can i use my phone and make it compatible with services here in the philippines..... or whats the problem really??? thanks in advance...

can anyone help me? i have this phone for almost two years already and for that 1 year of using it i'm experiencing a white screen and then it will restart automatically. there are times that it will hang and my remedy is to detached the battery. after that, a few days ago my battery was drained. after i charged it, my phone no longer work. I thought of testing it with a new battery coming from my sister, since we have the same phone but it also didn't work out. i tried to bring it to a repair center but its very much cossy since it cost a thousand bucks, the center said it was the ribbon. anybody experienced this? pls ASAp

before you can use the video calling feature of the phone,of course you need to configure the settings or activate that feature through your carrier. that really depends if your service provider supports video calling. once activated you can only use video calling if you have a 3G signal.

@ Ray Hi there buddy! yeah i do understand what you mean, i also have a user's manual and there seems to be little information regarding videocalling..unfortunately, if you don't pay closer attention you won't definitely see it.. Well, using videocalling is as simpple as making calls, let me guide you, do you notice that blue button just above the green button (left), yup the green button is for making regular calls but that BLUE BUTTON just right above it is the VIDEOCALL BUTTON..See? just dial a number you wish to videocall or browse the number in your phonebook then press that blue button and you are way to go.. -Rick (tm)-

I just received my V3x today i live in Ontario Canada my provider is Rogers.The phone keeps turning off & on and it won't even turn on when the battery is fully charged. Also i did my home work to purchase a new phone that has video calling since we have that feature in Canada,so when i was looking on line the specifications said that it was one of their features but in the manual it has nothing to say about having it.This is not a good start..any answers might help

i have a motorola v3x. after i registered to my networks unlimited texting service, my phone no longer can create message, add a contact to my phonebook or update my calendAR. whenever i try to input something on my phone, it turns off, flashes white screen then turns on again. its always doing that whenever for example i try to create a message or reply to that message. but i still can make and receieve calls and messages. it this some technical issue? is it a virus? or is it hacked by my network? pls help me!!!!

@ Upam If you are used to Nokia before i think this one is bit "Gotcha" for you..specially when sending photos via bluetooth.. Here's how: To send files via bluetooth all you have to do is: 1) Browse / go to the file you want to send 2) Press option (hey i know what you're thinking, don't select "send" alright? 3) But instead, select "Manage" 4) then select "Copy" 5) then finally select "Bluetooth" and so on.. See that? A bit tricky right? It's the Moto way,, always, Rick (tm)

This phone is kinda crap...It has a great price for all of it's features but those features were lacking quality. Bluetooth tends to screw up when transferring stuff (not really my biggest problem). The camera was really really good for a few months and slowly for some reason the images started to get worse. When it was new the images were soo crisp that i couldn't believe how good it was. After a few months it started getting coloured dots. The phone also has got a bad screen on the outside (the small one). The rubber coated outsude of the phone has rubbed off in certain places making it look very hobo'ish (crappy). Now it will turn itself off randomly. For example somebody calls me and i press the answer button. For no reason my phone turns off (full battery)(not all the time). And the alarm is really stupid. Sometimes it doesn't go off for some reason which ended up getting me late to work one day. I don't mean to dis teh fone but...it just wasn't made to last the test of time :'(

I got V3 as a present. It started to have problems after 1 month in use. It turns off automatically and sometimes got really crazy that it lights on and off continuously until you remove the battery and put back in again. That is the only (temporary) solution that seems worked. I simply do not know if my mobile will work in the next minute. Do not buy it!

Motorola seems to have serious QC problems which it needs to solve before it's reputations suffers further. My latest one developed a problem with munu navigation only a couple of months after I got it, and it cleared up few days later, then a few weeks later it wouldn't connect to the network ofter 5 minutes of turning it on with a 'no service' message. The other one I had wouldn't charge. Got a new battery, no improvement. Great camera and screen, but two phones with serious issues, is that a coincidence or are they plain unreliable.

I have had this phone about 14 months, i absolutely love it, have the orange coloured one. Anyway, xmas day it started to be a bit naughty, it sent me 75 sms messages from the same person, this was after my calls started to fail. I called telstra, apparently this is common with this phone, they changed me to a different network, it worked good for a month, and now back to the same. I am waiting on a replacement handset now, sony ericsson z750i. I really don't want to lose this motorola as i really like it, the screen huge and camera great, but I will need it one day and it will fail me. I too agree, battery life very short.

the phone at first didnt seem that appealing..the default skin made it look unattractive but then i found out that it was basically a non OS phone and found the site www.modmymoto.com and i was amazed...i could almost design the menu structure in any way i wanted and then after i started loving this fone and just cant imagine gettng bored of it...what i can say is that dont judge it by the looks...coz its got loads of potentials...

Potentially one the worst phones in the history of mankind. And interestingly, all the problems i had with this phone were problems that other owners I know experienced as well, meaning that there are actual design and technical flaws. First point - If you are a nokia user, stay with nokia. Motorola has aspects that you initially think you can deal with by ultimately become painful. Even the Star key being the space bar in sms becoming irritating rather than something you get used to. Nokia has incredible reliability. It's always amazing that when a friend of mine loses or breaks his/her phone, the spare one in the closet is a nokia and still works, even if it's 5+ years old. Motorola is good for about 12-18 months depending on how much you abuse it. Second, the menus are somewhat illogical (not completely illogical). There were often features I would expect to find in one menu, but there located in another. Sometimes in the submenu of a menu I wouldn't expect to find it in. Third - this phone fails spectularly as.... being a phone. Yes we've got the camera. Yes we can upload ringtone from a computer. Yes we can mms and surf the net. But ummm... what's the deal with calls ending random? About 20% of calls over one minute would suddenly drop out (and this was not an issue with my phone. Other V3x users said exactly the same thing happened to them). Open the flip top to make a call? Umm - yeah some sort of white screen, then it starts rebooting... then it connects. Does that mean I've been disconnected from the network for the past hour? OPen the flip top to answer the phone and sometimes it would hang up on them. Other times, I dialled a number and it said "call failed" two or three times before i gave it a rest for 30 seconds, dialled again and it got through. Don't worry ladies and gents. I've had the phone fully services and checked over by a motorola service center. It made no difference in the end. A stylish phone with bells and whistles. And if you plug it into your laptop and use it as a modem, it's fast and flawless. But beyond that, it was the worst mobile sale decision i've ever made. After 19 months, my phone has finally decided to crap itself and die. It still turns on, but i cannot make a call at all and sometimes the display gets fuzzy lines. I've recycled it and gone back to nokia. It was light a breath of fresh air and - shock horror - i can acutally make calls reliably again. General consensus from my friends who got this was that they loved it for about two months, indifferent the next three months and then hated it with a passion until it died (often within 12-18 months). DON'T BUY THIS PHONE

Rick Yeah, I have both the phones right at the top of my palms that is why I could say my V3x is far behind my N70. I admit Moto resolution is nicer, clarity, etc. but those are some few angles only. what I/m trying to say is its flexibility where you can install lots and lots of applications that anyone can enjoy like dictionary, scientific calculator, music player, system tools,karaoke, screen decoration, privacy/secrecy apps, themes, fonts, bible, quick office, notepad, etc. that I can't install in my V3x. Got what I mean? I can install all of them in my N70, I'm telling you. Back to taking video in the dark (or even daytime), if you know Mp4 and 3gp formats, you would say which is better. V3x is only limited to 3gp but I can set my N70 to mp4 format. And, don't say Nokia phones have dim light when taking videos. I installed N70 torch in my N70 and believe me the light is brighter than my V3x. I would still choose Nokia.

@ JOJO Yeah i know that, but if you're really having both N70 & V3x right on the palm of your hands, i assume you could distinguish which of the two handsets has the better screen brightness, clarity, crispness, precision & accuracy??:) as well as taking pictures in the dark? why not try to transfer these images to your Desktop PC and witness what i'm trying to expound here? yeah, i'm referring to both handsets, try to transfer their footages to your PC & see what is the true definition of 2 megapixel footage.. Moreover, i used to like "N" phones before, i admit i was also got amazed of the 5megapix feature & blah..blah.. but now in this case it came about i'm considering too some angles... I'm not just paying attention on the "Best foot forward",,,like the 5Megapix camera, top-notch price, the latest phone, and among others... it lacks lots of features compared to Nokia. About what rick is saying that taking videos or taking pictures in the dark using Nokia is bad, I'll say he's really really wrong. I have a Nokia N70 and it doesn't disappoint me and I can install lots and lots of applications that I can't find in my motorola V3x. One fact that my N70 is nicer, I installed a java application called Advanced English Dictionary both in my N70 and V3x but running the app thru V3x, loading the program takes 1 min while on my N70, it opens only around 3-5 seconds.

I'm not sure if my memory card is broken or my phone (v3x) can't read it. When the memory card is inserted on the phone, I cannot turn it on. It just show a blak screen, it just hangs. When I remove the card I can turn it on but the phone is not functioning properly like when I wan't to create a message the selection just go to the next line and not to the "create a message" or if i want to choose inbox it will go to the next line and open outbox. It is the same w/ the other menu or when choosing an entry to the phonebook. Other problem is that I can't use my camera/video. When i wanted to use the camera it just give the message "busy try again later' or and when I use the video it just hangs. Hope you can help.

Excellent phone!! Had it for 2 years now and still loving it!! It says that it only supports up to 512mb memory card but i currently have a 2gig memory card running. It has no major problems. It just sometimes has difficulty uploading files via pc but that isnt much of a worry.

@ Max Multi tasking? yup, unlike other brands, this phone could actually perform some simultaneous tasks like "while the music player is on you could actually turn the camera on and start taking pictures", next is "listening to the music while playing your favorite java games", another one is "creating/typing/sending text messages or chatting while listening to the music", one more thing is "listening to the music while browsing through your phones menu", and among others:) one feature that i love about this phone is it's camera that never misses out shots whether in & out of the dark, day & night, when the lighting condition of the surroundings is somewhat challenging... because of its powerful LED that is manually set on / off... pretty cool... unlike the "N" phone that has a tiny, almost non-functional flash that automatically turns on in the dark... it's really not useful, promise... that's one of the problems that "N" phones should work on...especially in the dark... About the complains, yeah, what else is new? with all due respect to all the brands out there, if you'll try to browse the gsm arena's site all the phone models have both good & bad comments, and it just so happened that more often plenty of bad comments clusters on the latter (recent) part of this forum:) Even the "talk of the town" Nokia N95 also have good & bad comments, so it really lies in your hands whether which phone you'll choose. one thing. i am going to pick it up from a mobile phone shop as my V3x was in for repair. mut the technician told me that he wasn't able to mend it. the screen was gone and im still hoping it is a ribbon problem although now i'm a bit confused about it. i am going to try to mend it at another shop. i'll try to keep ya posted. as it seems that trying to mend this phone is a headake.

Yeah, let me just share to you guys that im a self confest avid fanatic of great mobilephones.. when coloredphones were first brought in into the market i was amazed by their capabilities, that time then the famous nokia 7650 (slide up) was at its peak, i bought my phone at 25thousand pesos wayback then, im really excited, i thought that its a great phones so i kinda save everything, & anything without considering what might happen... then few years later it became an old model.. and so i bought a sonyericsson P910i and that time the price was at 42thousand pesos... and then years gone by i just notice one thing in common with these mobilephones...no matter how big the memory or how great your phone is if you dont take good care of them they wont last... i saved as many files i can to it... knowing that its great...but in the end you will notice that they just "hang" or simply "lag" or whatever you call it! So, if you are considering a phone for yourself, only save those files that you can use on your daily habit... for best results, to keep you from system lags, hangs, on-off phenomenon, and etc. only consume the 20 to 50% of your internal memory then the rest save them to your phone's external memory card.. then back up excess files to your PC... view, listen to your files using a PC.. or if you want always use your external MMC, just use the internal memory whenever necessary or as needed.. Another problem is the "External MMC Fever", try to consult your phones users manual first before considering to buy a mem card.. coz we all love to listen to hundreds or even a thousand of (compressed) music, but do you consider first your battery life? think of it..you can not play all the stored music in 3 - 4hrs of battery..as i said..choose only these sounds that you play most, your favorites, that are fitted for a 3 - 4hrs of battery life. by the way, even you got a huge external storage it could also cause system lagging, hanging when you make it FULL! So, i hope you appreciate my little discussion about phones.. NOTE: At the present, i got this Moto Razr V3x and i can say that its great, along with the line-up of 2megapixel cameraphones, let me say that this one is has the BEST picture quality / clarity, precision / accuracy among the rest.. don't forget to follow my tips above...thanks for your time, reading it... ---Ricky---

i owned a v3x phone and i have it for almost a year now. at first i dont know how to use it, its a pain in the a... but when i got to read a lot of things i could do to give my phone a life i get excited. modding? i dont know ho to do it. anyone cud help me with this? the battery is not a problem to me coz i never experienced it, yup. it does turn off that is when you type a thousand of words.. cud somebody help me with this? i need a new housing too.. anyhow its design is great! so stylish. picture quality is great.sound is superb. all in all rating this phone is 8 out of 10. im looking forward to buy a v9. i love my moto v3x and so with this, i could still keep this for good.

This phone drives me crazy. Not only does the batter last only a day and a half all the buttons aren't where they should be. I've been told the battery will last longer if 3G is turned off but isn't that the whole point of the phone. I've now gone retro and am using my old Nokia 2100....and loving it.

hey, i bought mine a year ago and have recently found some problems with the phone. 1. It automatically switches itself on and off at times. 2. The phone cannot read my 1Gb memory card even though it was fine a year ago. 3. Sent for repair 3 times, still acting this way. So guys if you're considering this phone, don't buy it unless you're thinking of changing to another phone a year later. It is user-friendly i suppose but the damages it brought to me, i kinda hate this phone now.

this is the worst phone i have ever had. i have had it for 18 months now and it has been nothin but a disappointment since the 1st 2 weeks. I've used the V3x for two years running and I must say it's a great phone. Even fell in water one day but I dried it out & it worked fine. To solve the battery issue, get the portable P790 Charger and you're set. Don't sell this at any cost!

Sometimes it seems that i lost all of my pics and music saved on my phone then after checking storage devices the memory card is not listed there... any tips guys aside from that the phone is really great.. nice camera and nice audio, too bad the battery wount last that long after you tried to listed to a couple of songs for 2-3 hours...

I've been using this for only less than a week, and certain features of the phone leads to some sort of crash. When I write a text message, the phone blacks out, then shows white, then goes back to home. And it does that every single time I try to compose a message (even when replying. Also, I can't navigate the phonebook by typing names - the same thing happens, so I have to use the navigation keys to get to a contact. If someone knows how to solve this problem, please contact me! I don't have enough money to repair this V3x! And my parents are going to kill me! HEEEELP!

the v3x is th best ph for its price, no question about it! It does everything you demand out of a ph besides costing so much (o: It a very reliable and fast ph but i have used different firmware than it came with to open up the nvidia chip in it as normally it only powers up with the camera instead of everything.. i have excellent photo taking, good quality mp4 video recording with good sound unlimited to th memory card 64mb approx 30mins, fast menu etc, easy to use, heaps of skins out there, 8x zoom on camera mode and 4x zoom in video mode, does all email, internet, modem etc., large display, very loud speaker ph speaker handles okay but ear phs only able to turn up half way though as volume gets to loud, full screen play back, software easily obtained, so what more could you ask for.. my email- [email protected]

MOTOROLA V3X: ehem ehem to begin with.. il rate this phone 10 out of 10.. one of the best 3g phone in the market now. me and wife enjoy using this phone... i got a white one and my wife have a hot pink. 2.0mp camera with flash = excellent picture quality. though the video quality is good its format is 3gp.. i think it will be better if they set it to mp4. ITS CLASSY AND IT ROCKS!!!

Hi i have v3x but within 10 days my blue tooth is out of order when i try to switch it on it says Power Failure and try again. Second, between using cell phone it gets switch OFF. Third, When i pluged in with USB (Computer) it shows that cell phone is now charging the blue light start blinking but after a hour or many hours when you unpluged out that USB Cable, it shows that this hasn't charged. battery still shows the previous percent of charging. It is totally a trash and i believe that moto is totaly trash if any one who is here and he/she knows that my problem can be fix without going to any Support office then let me know. Ive had this phone since December like many others here.. My phone too goes blank screen or white screen when im txting or jus using it. And the hinges are giving up on me. If you hold my phone upside down, u will see a gap between the keypad and screen. Battery is giving up too.. I like this phone only for txtn.. It has a Damn good Predictive Txt system. Apart from that its a slow phone. I reckon this phone is only gud for those who change fones every month!.. Thanks

I have my v3x for about a year now, it still remains fancy and I still remain captured by its size and weight (i.e I love big things - all big things) Any way... the screen does go now and again and I often have to charge the muscle (my v3x) but never the less... moto is the way to go... I got my motorola v3x about 2 months ago. its never been dropped or anything but it has just stopped working. i will be halfway through a msg and the screen will turn white and i have to close it and open it again to make it work, even then sometimes it wont work. and also the battery life is crap, it is dead not even 2 days after i completely charge it. i think ill stick with nokia from now on.

I have the V3X for over a year. I do quite a bit of outdoor activities and work. It never gave up on me... unlike the Nokias and Sony Ericssons that I also take with me (for coverage purposes and testing). I have seen the V3Xs that had problems, they were fine after a firmware update and that was that. I use the phone a lot and the battery goes on for 3 to 4 days. Plus it doesn't have the ear and microphone distance problem.

had this phone for almost a year now. It's a "hand-me-down" phone from my dad. I have the blue rubberized version of it and the only thing I hate about this phone is that the rubberized housing of the phone is slowly being peeled off the main housing. and the the speakers are kinda off. I dunno what exactly happened to it but after some time, the sound quality from the speaker isn't that good anymore. The good thing about this phone is that it can take good pictures, been using it for my digital photography hobby as well, the 2mp camera's clarity is great, I give it a 9 out of 10 rating. Weird thing about this phone is that there are times when it says that I have unread messages and when I check on it, the unread messages were like ages ago. Just like any other motorola phone, it's heavy duty, dropped the phone several times and you can actually see the scratches on my phone but it is still working just fine. overall... I give this phone a 8 out of 10 rating... not bad at all..

I have a Motorola V3x RAZR which is in for repair currently. The worst cell phone I have ever had. It hangs on making and receiving calls, static when making calls, switches off randomly, switches off when I close the clam shell, predictive text stopped working. I am so disaapointed cos I love the handset design ie large keys etc as well as the camera, which is great, but all in all this has been a very bad experience.

do not buy the motorola v3x razr. but for the excellent camera, it is a shocking piece of technology! it hangs when making a call, it switches off randomly, predictive text suddenly stopped working, sound is very soft, switches off when closing the handset, static in my ear whilst trying to call someone, hangs when smsing. i have handed it in for repair, and they were not able to fix it, and have referred it to someone else to repair! i will never buy motorola again!

I recently purchased the pink v3x after owning and recently destroying by accidently falling into the loo on the weekend!!! totally annoyed about that, there was nothing wrong with my pink v3 not a mark on it!!! I was wondering if there was a way to mod the phone like adding my own themes?? Also can tones and wallpapers installed on the phone (motorola) ones be deleted to make more room? Does anyone have a clue about that??

My experience. Had 5 defective V3x in 12 months. Each time I think Orange just send another reconditioned faulty phone. Had 5th today at 6.20pm. By 7pm had locked up and switched off 4 times. Orange to try new sim card, and then they said they give up and will try different phone.If not its time to seek consumer advice. Battery life is also worst ever experienced. Not fit for purpose in my experience.

My advise DO NOT BUY A MOTOROLA V3x..... Mine has been sent in for repair AGAIN.....I was happy with it in the beginning but it seems to only have a 12 month life span and it all seemed to crash after that. During a call or writting a text message the screen will go black and it will go back to the main menu, the battery life is very poor, the phone is on charge alot... My husband has one too which was sent in for repair after a couple of months of purchase. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS ONE AT ALL!!

amelia: i totally agree with you. at first i loved it but now (8 months later) i am just fed up. the phone's life time (software) is designed to serve for about 8 months and then problems begin to arise. the phone as design is just perfect but the software is a nightmare. battery isn't so bad as it is described. it serves me for about 2 days at nearly intense usage.

If your v3x having problem, this is cause by several bug from old firmware. Kindly upgrade/update your firmware. This will solved all the issue. :)

I have the motarola V3x(for 15 months now) and i can promise you, it is the WOSRT phone i have ever encounted! the only thing it does well is take photo's! it switches off when i close the lid, when i make/recieve calls, when i put it on load speaker, and numerous other times! It often refuses to send sms's and takes it upon its self to not recieve 30% of my calls and 70% of the time it cuts out half way through a call!! 2 of my friends also have this phone and they have had more problems with it than i have! PLEASE dont buy this phone and waste your money. I will NEVER buy a motorola ever again!

I bought it a year ago. In the begionning I was a bit disappointed with it, 'cause it switched off rather often, especially after some pressure from outside(while in the public transport with the cell in a pocket). I was terribly upset with it, even after refleshing my device. But now I can say, that I am absolutely sure in my MOTOROLA (i.e. Razr v3x). I saved a complete backup of it, including phonebook, all the settings etc. The TOTAL copy of its software. So I can torture my phone in any way... And it keeps working in a stable manner. I can hardly be sure one can do the same with Nokia or SE...

My cousin bought this phone from Saudi Arabia just last Dec. 2006 and I found it good but when it encountered a virus maybe, it just totally black out, no menu and found its the mother board so i fix it to motorola service ctr. and change a new mother board in Asian version..now i cannot download and send mms! i've already set it to my service provider they said its settings already activated... but to no avail...help! I think there is some opinions that technically not going true. Before you post your problem as your opinion it's more accurate to ask an expert first. I'm a telecom eng. and chosen this phone from a long list of possibilities. this phone is a peace of technology, is a art. I can prove it but not here, because need min. 10 full pages review. by the way most of the problems guys face to are of the followings: 1- Network problem can appear as problem of ( battery, massage problem, phone stop responding. 2- SIM problem ( like item 1 + phonebook , recent calls ) 3- User problem ( can cover anything)

Bigmutt, try . this site allows you mod (alternate the fearures into a cool feature) your motorola handset, u can change the skin (bakground and icons design), which is better than themes. Also it allows u raise the volume on your phone, and equalize the sound on the phone to sound much better like i did for mines.

I was sadly mis-informed that Motorola make a good phone.. The V3x is the greatest technological disappointment I have ever encountered. In short; *Buttons don't work properly *Phone turns off randomly *Phone cuts out in the middle of calls *Sends 1 message as 2, 2 as 4, etc. *Chooses to not send messages *Locks up randomly I haven't had the short day battery life thing yet, but I'm sure it will come. I'm on my 3rd V3x, the last two have failed within 24hrs.. I would never buy a Motorola ever again.

things about v3x: 1.take care of it so it will last long. 2.know the pro's and con's before purchase. 3.ratio of price and features = rocks! here in the phil aroung 10k or less. fyi personally the only things i miss with this phone: The Symbian OS! and radio! - and i havent tried flexing and updating the phone just yet. before you purchase i suggest you borrow the phone from a friend to check the stats and how it could fit in your lifestyle. had 2months already and bought 1gig mem card. im satisfied! Battery life: if i play mp3 and make a lot of calls around a day. But with minimal usage ( text and minimal calls ) around 3 days. ~*~*~*~* no mobile unit will satify everyone one has to find the one he or she can live with inspite of the "flaws" and lack of features (owner aware before purchase). ~*~*~*~* hope this helps. love my pink v3x. totally rocks!

i own a motorola v3x & it works great with me it really has some lacking features like the unlike the other phone w/c are on the same spot but you always have an option to modify your phone. if you want to maximize the capability of your phone mod it. mine could last for about a miximum of 3 days in normal use and it doesnt crash down or anything.

This is by far the most annoying and poorly performing/ill conceived and engineered cellular phone I have ever owned or seen. The list of its shortcomings is vast and I cant be bothered listing them all hear. the sms dictionary is my most frequent hassle though, and the alarm often not going off has caused me problems at work several times. The battery life is useless and will suddenly run out when it looked to have most of its charge just an hour earlier. It will sometimes lock for no reason or say your files are corrupt and prevent you from seeing them ever again! very frustrating phone. do yourself a favour and stay well clear!

How ridiculous. THE WORST PART: - Today it's stopped letting me into the sms inbox. It says I have 10 unread messages, but when I try to open the inbox, I get chucked back to the main menu. I can't get back into the inbox until I delete the unread messages. However, as soon as a new message comes in, I'm locked out again. I would advise anyone against getting this phone. Arrgh. I kid you not, how it made it through Motorola QA I just don't know.

your right that the keypad can deteriorate but it depends with the person using it, if you have a heavy finger, the keypad would really deteriorate...its a matter of maintaining your things, dont criticize motorola for using low quality materials, because they have not. if you want a durable and maintenance free cellphone, go make yourself a bulletproof one, stupid!

your v3x comes with a cd when you buy it (Motorola Ohone Tools)...else if your talking about seem editing or flash moding, you need p2k commander or RSD lite also need some hexing tools and some knowledge of using it else ur waste your fone hahaha... v3x doesnt have a radio feature only media >.

Hello, you can install new themes by using p2k commander..i use those tools to mod my moto...really easy.. about the FM radio, no it doesent support it.. This is surely the worst phone I've ever bought (and I've had at least 15 cellular phones of different brands). And it's probably one of the worst phones ever put on the market. I've had nothing but problems with it. The screen wouldn't allways work well, the phone went off when I closed it, the message service doesn't accept french accents (or it cuts your messages in 3 or 4!!), it's sensibility and range is weak, sound quality could be better... Maybe the optional gadgets work fine but for day to day use, the more simpel and cheaper phones do better, I'm affraid. I will never buy Motorola again.

I had Motorola v3x last Jan 07...the fone was very good all around...the only thing that isnt good in v3x is 1.) the music in my headphones is really low...not to good in bass...2.) the nvidia 4800 3d graphics card which is very powerful isnt enabled..so games with 3d isnt good lags a lot...i already flashed my v3x to the best flash firmware..the volume is max to 06(orig is set to 01)..means even if your volume is 3, the phone sounds like a blast..also edited the volume in earpiece, side keys, lowbat, etc...the camera is so good with best quality 8x zoom. captures videos with mp4 and plays mp4..videos at 8x zoom with pause btn. & unlimited recording (until memory card is full..no 1 hr limit)(orig is 4x only). signal and battery life boost,receive / dialled calls 60..darn im so envious with SE sound quality and games..i love the fone but alas..im not sure if i have earfone prob or what..really not good music quality..i already bought 2nd earpice but sound still sucks...does anyone know about this? is your sound OK? i mean earpiece sound for music? all the sound in my fone is best except for earpiece music..others like earpiece call/external speaker etc...very good...anyone can lend a help for my music? pls email me...really need help..

The iTap predictive texting is very buggy on this phone. After a week or two it will forget words if you keep adding new ones. The memory only seems to be able to hold a certain amount of words and then starts forgetting - and it is quite a low limit. Also if you turn on sentence completion, it can sometimes crash the phone. If you TXT a lot and need predictive texting, then I wouldn't recommend this phone.

I bought mine for 8.5 in the monumento area. after 2 months, the flex, err, the thing that connects the lower portion to the screens, gave out. Supposedly my unit was brand new, but I have my doubts. I'm not sure if it was due to my "abuse" which by experience other clamshells i've used have withstood, or it might be that this moto isnt as durable as i expected, or maybe its due to where I bought the unit. At least now its fixed, had it repaired at an authorized service center for only 980. Hope this time it lasts longer, coz everything else is very satisfactory about the phone.

I have been looking at my techy sites to find out the procceessor speed but cant find it yet but the camera module is set in the thickness of the hinge and contains 4 lenses..Their are 2 platstic lenses and 2 glass lenses that operate the macro mode to focus the picture.,,ALSO the screen is made by SHARP electronics and is the best in its class on the market,,my sharp gx30 was spot on in the colour department.. In my opinion there are very few high class clamshells in the market hence why i am purchasing this on orange 18 months on,,i know video recording is rather limited but playback is another department all together with smoothly rendered quality playback according to sites that deal with algorithms and polygon rendering qualities etc its a shame its not applied to actuall vid recording !! I have also been scouting round for the bc-70 battery and have come up with best offer so far from vodafone stores at �20 and its reputable as well,,i am in uk sorry if your from elsewhere..i also have ordered and already recieved 2gb sandisk micro-sd card from mobymemory wich have always been good firm,,if you order before 3pm its at your door next day in post,i dont want to advertise anyone they can do that themselves im just saying where i shop and have found them safe and trustworthy.. I have had this phone in black for nearly a year and though ive had afew probs with ie. the screen sometimes (but rarely) going white, and the phone stopping from charging when off, i still love it and it still manages to keep up with the new phones.Just to answer some q's -the headphone jack IS the mini-usb inlet itself.U cant use regular headphones but mini-usb types from motorola,or buy a converter to change mini-usb to regular headphone jack -2Gb cards can be used but not recomended as phone will sooner or later 'reject' it -Take care of the plume skin as it will peel if scratched -Scratching of external screen very easy OH! just bought my pink phone last june 1, makes me smile everytime i open the phone, good deal for P9.3k in here in the Philippines. i charge it every night... maybe it could last for 2 days if I wouldn't listen to music so much... I would also like to add that I have a 1 GB card and it works perfect, better than the 512 I had before. My card is from Apacer, if somebody would like to know which 1 GB works

ZeldaFreak, u would need to get a software/program which is known as Flash & Backup, which u can download from www.modmymoto.com. U can be guided on how to use the program to flash ur phone, or u can also download a program called motodelete. can also be downloaded from the site as well.

Yes I think it can handle a 2GB memory card. -Yes.. there is led flash in v3x. very nice. --Waaahh, im having a problem on my v3x's 2MegaPixel Camera!! I dont think so the v3x camera quality is not clear as 2MP cam!! It's kinda VGA!! I am sure of it cause i tested my sisters' v3x too.. im now going in motorola tomorrow for repair or it must be replacement! damn!

Alex what u would need to do is to drag the files to your kjava folder when u read your memory card on your the computer. Make sure u safely remove the storage device, the go to where the gamesa and applications are stored on your phone, switch to the storage device to the card, then select new apps, u would see all the app and games that your added to your memory card. install them from there. Just got this phone yesterday, everything is functioning perfectly. The 2.0 megapixel camera is great and the focusing function is even cooler. The display is simply fantastic! MP3 quality is good,even plays WMA! can shoot a video u to an hour. But..this phone could be even cooler if it was a lil slimmer. Simply outstanding phone. btw archel18, i'm from malaysia :)

Try a major auction site. Yes the phone has an organiser, don't know what it's like because I never used it. It isn't just about the video calling, I never use it but find the 300+kb/s download speed far better than GPRS as I use my phone for IM and e-mail.

I've had the V3x for 7 months now. Absloutly no complaints with it, I don't know why the moto o/s is looked down upon it's far better than others. My only problem with this phone is that I'm due an upgrade and I can't find a phone to beat it! You can take my word for it this is a great phone, I've had many phones in my time and I will never buy a Nokia again, SE don't seem to have any good phones for decent prices unlike motorola. This phone cost me �200 on pre-pay 7 months ago with a "free" bluetooth headset and �80 credit. Really you can't go wrong.

mine's not choosey regarding the bluetooth connection.. you just have to delete the found devices in the bluetooth menu to be able to connect to other phones

this is a good phone. you can install java games if you just copy the .jar files on the kjava directory ( memory card or phone memory ). The only shortcoming is that it is "choosey" in bluetooth connection esp on NOKIA phones. it always cause error. Just familiarize with the phone and youll enjoy this stuff.

Mine is a Motorola V3x. and I'm loving it. At first I had resentments on having my mom buy it for me. It just turned out that I have to explore more the phone features to actually appreciate it. Now I can play my songs continuously. Ha! I have found out that there is such thing as create playlist to do it for me. Yes. Even if the phone is flipped off, it continuous to play. Speaker is good, too. You just have to apply some physics (or a little of physical hygiene) to get a nice reception. I also learned that you can play the video in full screen. Yeah. Learned it just lately. Anyway, these are just some of my discoveries (because I don't read the manual). My next concern is how to install a pdf reader on my phone so that I get to read my papers other than just reading them in my pc. Hope you guys can help me on this. Thanks.

hey roi, if u want to boost your volume on your phone, google this motosound, it's a free program that amplifies your motorola phone, and u can visit this site www.modmymoto.com. At this site u can finds skins to change the look on yur phone, such as icons, background. You can find these in downloads. To apply the skin, use the program called skiman (skins manager) it can be found in downloads. Any problems, post your opinion. Enjoy ; )

Cool phone but like all phones has it problems. Pros: 2 megapixel cam, great sound quality, great ringtone support, durable, screensaver and wallpaper quality is superb, lots of customization abilities for contacts. Cons: buttons get stuck (on mine the number 3 is always stuck), not all videos are supported, sometimes smart button is stuck, voice message waiting indicator does not clear itself (if you have Cingular) I had to clear manually with another phone by switching my sim card out, signal can be a problem if you have Cingular, this phone is ideal for T-Mobile users, my phone is now starting to restart itself every so often which is annoying.

If your planning to buy this phone go for the generic/unlocked/unbranded ones so you could customize it and make some really cool mods. When i first got the phone I thought hey this s okay, but after i did some mods on it.. man this is the best and for the price, it's a steal... here are the mods available that you can do with this phone. complicated procedure.. go to www.motostuff.com for a guide on how to do these things cause u cud basically mess up ur phone if u screw up. -you could make video recordings in mp4 format -you could boost audio performance -really loud, believe me. -enhance ur photos and videos by minimizing compression -mimimize lag -put an 8x zoom and night mode on internal video mode. -and you can put themes, which is honestly more complicated than i wud have liked, u have to use p2k commander and skin manager for that..

i had my V3x and its serving me well, easy sync - it automatically charges wen sync to a PC... batery life is good and lasts for 2 days and half (phone & cam use only), just fyn for me and @ work; and for those with too much to tell about, ur just being unpatient with d phone u just bought. if it does not do u any good - buy a new one, and better be well informed about it and how will it suit ur lifestyle. can someone tell me, free download site for v3x themes, and connectivity/sync softwares, upgrades tnx...

....my god...aeroplane mode means u can use the phone on the AEROPLANE....that means fuction that doesn't uses signal line can be use...so basically u can listen to music on the plane...without interfering wif the airplane signals...

I made the biggest mistake in my life buying this crap. COmments here you go.. 1) No Charge 2) Camera Sucks 3) Not User Friendly. 4) The OS has got a mind on its own. It changes the ringtone by itself, Inverts the display, Goes to silent mode own its own. Nad yeah Zoom In means you zoom OUT.... Great phone, slightly heavy. Some issues with bluetooth, mainly not being able to send things. Excellent screen resolution, decent 2MP camera, but speaker located at back, therefore difficult to hear if on table etc.

this just recently happened. when i exit a game after playing it, the phone hangs!!!! and i will have to restart it. blahhh, really bad.. additionaly, it gets really hot and will shut-off automaticaly even if the battery is not low... really bad!!

most of the service providers in the philippines do not support this phone. I can only find a few games to download. the sound quality is good but this phone sometimes freezes when you exit the browser (bah, not really freeze but after a few minutes it will respond again.)

Ok...Here is my comment about the V3x... Im a part of the largest Gadgets and Celphone Magazine Review here in the Philippines...And im happy to post my review...ok...here it is... The Camera...2 megapixels cam...The Camera shots are good, and im referring to the Pictures taken...The quality is good.But they say it is not.Maybe you're talking about is the intenal VGA Cam in the phone. Yes the VGA cam is not that good. But the 2mp Cam is more better than Nokia's 2mp Cam Phone. I have compared the results. Its really obvious on the testing we made. The Motorola 2mp Cam is far greater than Nokia 2mp Cam.We've seen it more when we printed the pictures. Why don't you try it. Now the only bad side in Motorola Phones is...tanaaaa!...the battery...the acutall talktime of Motorola Phones according to our test is only about 2 and a half hours. And the standby time is actually good for 2 days. Unlike on nokia phones, their battery life last for a week when on stand-by, actually on our test, it is more than a week.hehehe. Haay... Anyways...I hope admins would post this.And show it to anyone.

I recently bought this phone because I fell in love with its appearance. The one that I have is white and I adore it very much. However, I noticed that the battery performance is really frustrating and it's a good thing that I carry a spare phone with me (Toshiba 803T) because when the battery backed out on me yesterday, at least I had a phone where I can put the sim card and send important messages to my family. I plan to resolve this problem by buying a spare battery. That way, if the first battery dies, a spare is ready for the rescue. It's a bit hard to use in the beginning. Sending text messages is quite tricky. This plus storing names in the phonebook occupied at least 7 minutes of my time. Maybe i'm just not used to motorola UI. But I love this phone and if I have money in the future, I'd buy the KRZR or the Z3. HelloKitty - Philippines

Halo there everyone.. I bought this phone last year (forget the which month).. This phone really a great phone... I love the design and the speaker. And its' micro mode. The micro mode is exellent. But the camera is not that gud. Instead, not gud enough. And the battery life is awful.. If you are the person that love music so much, get urself a v3i or ROKR model. If you are the person who love phone and wants a phone that looks cool, have yourself a v3x. This phone is a good phone actually. The menu is good, the text msg-ing not tat bad, micro mode is superb,large internal memory (64MB), slim enough, very good speaker, 3G capable, offline mode, video player and etc... The negetif sides of this phone are bad quality of captured images, short battery life, awful mp3 player... I think thats all... Hmmm.. Not highly recom it. But, this phone is good.. I rate it at 7.5 out of 10... Try it out! ^.^

There are only 2 kinds of motorola phones, the very good ones and the very bad ones. That's why you would notice the reviews are confusing, some say its all too good, some say it sucks big time. If you're gonna buy a v3i or v3x, either you get a very nice one, or a very bad one. I, for example have a v3i, which unfortunately, sucks. It regularly blacks out and its very slow. It was passed on to me by my dad coz he didnt like it. Other things i dont like about those 2 models are (1)they are very fragile, easily get scratched and destroyed (2)they are built for righties, if you're a lefty try using it while its charging, you'll see (3)Poor battery performance, this is reality.....I can't text well or navigate around the phone for that matter because it hangs and blacks out. Its slow. So i was thinking to trade it in for a v3x, which after reading this forum, discouraged me from pushing thru..ill just opt for a good nokia phone instead..VERDICT: If you really want a motorola, proceed with caution, if you dont care much buy something else.. --> kc Tan, philippines

I've had the V3x for 12 months now and like most it gets really hot, screen goes blank for no reason and switching itself off. not the best phone going around-I've had lots of trouble with the handset heating up, switching itself off, screens going blank, and generally just freaking out..have had it in to be repaired once, and was told the firmware had been updated, but this hasn't really alleviated the problems. Currently looking at upgrading to SE K800i. Sales person @ my mobile phone provider store told me that the V3x has been discontinued, because of ongoing problems, like I've just described. She recommended the V3xx, but I'm ready to move away from Motorola after my V3x experience. Phone has quite good features, but the glitches with the handset have just put me off. Would not recommend this handset.

This phone is a complete load of garbage and I regret ever buying it. The keypad marks the screen which is a design fault which Motorola will not acknowledge. The battery dies very quickly. The phone's behaviour is bizarre; it changes ringtone after being charged, the menu operations change from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. There is more wrong with it but I haven't got all day. I will never buy another Motorola.

Don't buy this phone!! Release software has glitch that means that phone numbers and whole contacts cannot be accessed. If you're sync'd to Outlook or something like that, it will delete them from Outlook upon sync-ing. I've lost valuable data due to this glitch. Nothing but headaches. The phone book was glitchy and crash when you tried to edit certain contacts, so had to get it flashed at a certified repair store in the city as it's a known problem with the V3x OS that the updated OS they put on it fixes. Then I also find out the hard way that the alarm is not 100% reliable so ended up missing work, work-around is to set events in the calendar as a reminder each morning as it dose not suffer the same problem as the alarm. Two of my MMSes are corrupted so these messages are now forever lost, almost completely fed up by this point. On this topic also MMS composing is glitchy with Motorola's auto word completion sometimes wigs out after completing certain words then just types gibberish. Workaround is type a normal txt, then copy and past it into the MMS. But sometimes the entire txt doesn't copy and you still have to rewrite what wasn't copied to be pasted. Then finally, and the final straw is image and a video file are now corrupted after getting a txt while bluetoothing a file to my V3x! Unlike the MMSes I was forced to delete, the image and video can not be renamed, or deleted!) If all this wasn't bad enough, the phone also has a horrible battery life like mentioned just below and doesn't even get close to the supposed talk time, or stand-by time Motorola claims it can. I say avoid this phone at all costs. It's over priced, and nothing but trouble.

Beware!! Beside good features, a sexy look and a good pricepoint this phone built quality is quite poor and I'd suggest you to look elsewhere unless you are ready to change your phone every 6 month. Both mine and a friend's V3x started to have problems with keypads and battery cover after 3 weeks of use. Also it is not a very pleasant phone to use, menus and keyboard layout are unpractical. Also bear in mind that if you intend to use the mp3 player and sync the phone with your computer for pim functions you will have to buy expensive Motorola softwares and accessories as they are not included with the phone. The camera is not too bad though, but the camera the poor keypad layout means that one keeps turn it on inadvertently and there is no work around as nor the menus or keyboard can be really customized.

well like I said before, nothing is perfect, and this phone has its up and down, just downloaded a new game last week and basically when closing the specfied game, the phone will sometimes be on white screen. well you just have to power cycle the phone. and basically the battery like I said its not that really strong. try to notice while charging, try to call someone and look at the battery; it will yellow eventhough the phone is fully charge. meaning the battery is not that powerful to last. just notice how large the screen is, right? that's the reason why there are new phone's being created or upgraded. OK!!!

A reflash might solve your problem of frequent turning off of the phone. If it persist after a reflash or if you use monster pack then the problem might be a hardware.

if you don't use ur 3G, just switch to 900/1800 band. some area are not 3G capable so if you set your band to AUTOMATIC ur unit will keep on searching for the right(and this will drain your battery fast)

The phone battery keeps on just for 2 days because u'r using 3G which constantly uses the network.Simply switch to 2g network from network setting - 900/1800 Mhz. P.S. Gr8t Phone by the way :)

well the V3x is a nice phone, but ive had 2 of them, and both have broken. the first time it was my fault because i broke the USB slot due to my own carelessness, but the second time, it kept turning off by itself. I eventually got a message on the screen saying BOOT LOADER and a load of random letters, and now it will not turn on. eugh. its a gorgeous phone when it works, the camera is good, the screen is fabulous, and the mp3 quality through the headphones is brilliant. on my first v3x the video quality was fab, but my second one wasnt very good..dont know how that can be. Buy this if ur planning to wrap it up in foam, and give it a seperate bag to carry round in, but otherwise buy something else, like a NEC e616v, its old, but i can chuck it at a wall and it still works! @Ivan...Dont think twice on buying a v3x, im also a filipino user of a v3x and i can tell you im satisfied in this phone. Unlike other phones which you need to bring in service centers for upgrades of firmware and flexware, in a v3x you wont have a problem. You can do the flashing and flexing of your phone by yourself(with a usb cable, software and computer of course). Fonts can be changed in an instant and you got abundant skin ready for download at v3x modding sites. On the case of the keypads fading, it will depend on how you use your phone. Been using mine for 4 months and i dont notice the keypads fading. Havent encountered freezing/shutting down of the phone by itself, usually these problems can be solved by having a fresh flash of your phones firmware which is very easy as i have said.

Been using this phone for a while and i can tell you its a great phone. I've modded my phone and now its perfect. I got the latest firmware for it and now it has faster menus etc. All the stuffs in this phone can be modded(Speaker sounds, camera and video quality and a whole lot more). Easy to reflash and flexing the phone using softwares provided by other modders. So i give a 2 thumbs up for this phone. For all v3x users here if you want good sites for v3,v3i,v3x modding just say so and i'll be more willing to give it to you so that you can get the full potential of your phone :)

v3x is really a mixture of pros and cons. its a good phone because it has good response, nice camera, most likely the macro mode, great phone resolution and nice video call. even though this phone poses a good sign, there are SO many flaws to this phone. the flash really sucks, the alarm sound of the phone doesn't really wake you up, the speakers get busted easily, there is no radio, the text feature is a bit hard to decipher...the thing is, this phone lacks some certain user-friendly features. just reconsider buying this phone mr. filipino v3x buyer. tnx!

I've changed these fones 2 times now and with the on I've got it's locks automatically and sometimes displays some settings would be changed and these fones have a short battery life, they lied about talktime as well as standby time.

Filipino V3x users post naman your comments about this phone... I'm planning to buy this phone... I've researched different sites over and over and this is the only phone in a clamshell form-factor na may memory expansion slot,240x320 screen resolution, 3G capabilities and, most importantly for me, within reasonable price. The FM radio i can live without since i can put mp3s in the phone naman. Couple of questions lang... Does the keypad really "fade"? Mga how long before it starts to do that? Does it really act-up (hang/freeze, restart/shut off by itself)? I'm fine with the construction since i was able to fiddle with one of these in the Motorola shop in SM North. It's the software and the phone's operation i'm worried about. Please, post kayo comments or mini-reviews.

any pinoy users of v3x? heard of some globe subscribers able to video stream on this unit. have checked all settings and configs, and yes, there's a3g signal, despite every attempt, i just cant stream. pls help.

This is the worst phone I have ever had. It shut off while you are talking and when you close the phone the screen goes blank. The sound quality is bad too. It's not only me but 2 of my friends who is having the phone having the same problem.

First off, I'd like to say that I'm not a big Razr fan. None of the older versions of the Razr had impressed me. When I first got my V3x last summer, I was not really shocked by its larger size. I had an PDA phone before this. I had a little trouble with T-Mobile in setting up the browser and picture. But once that was set up, I began to experience the best phone I've ever used. One of its key features, the Two Megapixeal Camera, It was stunning, I was amazed by the clarity and quality of the photos. I had a textamerica account with hundreds of photos that we constantly getting comments on how good they looked. I love the fact that you can store hundreds of full mp3 on it, And use them are individual ringtones for your contacts. I have over 500 people in my phone and more than half has a personalized ringtone. I love the java support, I use opera mini everyday to surf myspace and ebay, the speeds aren't that bad either. On the physical review, I'd have to say that this phone has taken a lot. I have used it in the pouring rain in miami, I left it setting on top of my car in NJ over night when the temperature dropped below 0. I have dropped it down a flight of stairs. But it is still holding up. The oldside skin is peeling a little bit, The outer screen is mildly scratched, The flip has lost a lot of its resistance. But it still works great. I'm currently looking for a replacement, But i cant find one better, So it looks like im going to end up ordering another amazing V3x. 8.4/10 stars

i'm using v3x for 7 months and it's great i only found 1 problem the black out mode or totally shut down or dead' that is only a software problem' just like computers need to reformat i found the solution i want to share here': ---> if youre v3x is dead or black out or you can't turn on' the thing you have to do is press the asterisk* & number# & the red button at the same time for 5 seconds or 10 you will go to bootloader of the phone and reflash youre phone with youre desire firmware Boom!!! goes to Dynamite! youre v3x will come back to life again =) what is reflash? what is bootloader? nahh'' i give you the idea the answer is "RESEARCH" & youre negative comment to motorola v3x will change forever' this is a excellent phone for me' i use 2gb of micro sd and fully working' i have 14 applications & 45 premium java games and 490 mp3's fully normalize 192kbps, 13 extraordinary themes or skin's, loud & crisp audio sounds =) & nice fluid video & clear pictures. =) and 1 rechargeable charger in case of battery drain' and i'm good to go! ;p =)

I purchased a V3x in late December and after 3 weeks it started just shutting off till finally it refused to be turned back off. It is now off for over a week and no matter what I have tried, it just refuses to power on. At first I am amazed with its features... But after a few weeks... The phone started to hang-up... very poor battery life... it shuts-off easily... cannot send via bluetooth... Ng nacira xa di na maayos... hmmp! My 14k is not worth it! galit ako sa motorola! Damn it!u
