Try changing the compatibility of the application, right hand click go to properties some in there it say compatibility change it back to Windows XP and which ever service pack it is.

Have been using sharp 770SH for 5 years now. I have changed the battery 1 year ago. Great cellphone.. i try to move in other cellphones, but i always return to this !! Incredible Cellphone !! I managed it with Win XP 32bit and the program for SHARP 770SH PHONE MANAGER and USB very well. Now i have problem with windows7 .., where can i get a new SHARP 770SH PHONE MANAGER and USB drivers for my Windows 7 64bit Sony Laptop ??. Windows 7 does not recognize it (cellphone) when plugged into the USB and also rejects the installation of the OLD (32bit) PHONE MANAGER for SHARP 770SH... Hello, I've had my sharp 770SH for about 7 years and it's been excellent apart from the battery imploding! I managed to get a replacement one from abroad and it worked fine but now I can receive incoming calls but can't make outgoing calls? Apparently the person I'm calling can hear me but I can't hear any ringtone or the person I'm calling when they answer. Has anyone any ideas on what I can do to rectify the problem?

You dont need any USB cable.Buy a SD/MMC Card Adapter and a multicard reader,u save for cable n no need to install software too.

i have had this phone for neary 4 years now and still love it I can download music from my pc onto it and its far cheaper than an IPhone or IPod lol.....the only thing now is that the charger connections are wearing and I dont know where to get new ones in New Zealand Overall I love my phone, have had no trouble with it the screen is a fantastic size and I dont know why they discontinued making them :(

I have 2 Sharp 770SH phones, both now "fail to complete" any outgoing text, but receives incoming. I have had my (Vodafone) SIM replaced in case it was this, but the problem still exists. I have tried other network SIM's inc another Vodafone SIM in both phones and they send texts fine and my SIM sends texts fine from my Motorola. Vodafone have no ideas, has anyone experienced the same problem ?

OK ppls after numerous internet searches Here is some usefull info regarding this phone. Music- Mp3 mp4 AMR tested it 2 I use Allok Converters for majority of my converting Video- MPEG4-AMR_NB thats all my 770 will play doesint suppord AMR_WB as most converters have Wide Band. Video AMR_NB BS - And regarding a comment I read in erlier pages all the AMR_NB converters ive noticed have the same problem(And ive tried heeps of Converters) the video slows but the sound carries on so everything is out of sinc. Answer= get a old converter that neither has NB or WB but a straight AMR. Alloks 3gp PSP ipod Video Converter 2.3.2 was the best I had but I found only one other one after numerous Testing "Plato Video to 3gp Converter 3.43" an its Free. Micro SD cards - Took a while as sharp realy doesint offer info regarding this the 770 Does not support MicroSDHC so your 4gb an 8gb SD cards wont work srry boys an girls, up2 2gb only. I can't put them directly on the memory card, with the card reader. I've tried creating the kjava folder (with a game inside, .jad and .jar files, as sujested) in almost every folder of the SD card (the conceivable ones) but the game was never recognized. Here is what I do: I take the microSD card out of the phone (you dont even have to switch it off), put it into an adapter (that looks like normal SD card & is sold always with microSD), and stick it into the card reader on my notebook. Then you can push your card full with music (or whatever) very quickly.

Hi kt, I've experenced the same problem. What's even worse, sometimes the screen turned white and the phone has no response any more. what you can do is to unload the battery, reload it and switch on. I brought it back to Vodafone store. They said they can't fix it and gave me a brand new one. Then problem solved. You can try that.

Well, I've bought a sharp 770sh and i'll receive it tomorrow, I expect so much of this phone because my old phone (a sharp gx15), gave me tons of phoning pleasure. Little Questions: how good is the camera? I know it's "only" 1.3 mp, but it is said that sharp cameras are in general superior to other brands, is that true? how is the camera, compared, for example with the 2mp's motorola v3x? Thanks for your help, I never knew the ringtones had to be in the the handset memory to be set as a ringtone, all I need to do now is download some smaller songs as most of mine are over 5.2mb. :D

To whom it may concern, this phone can set mp3s as ringtones if you followed these steps: 1, copy the mp3 to the phone (also known as the handset) memory. (not the memory card, important!) 2, go to "my item" then "music & ringtones". 3, find the mp3, select "option", then select "set as ringtone". DONE! Beware that the phone memory is approximately 5.2MB, so make sure that the mp3 is smaller than that. It's not easy especially when you want to set multiple mp3s as ringtones for different contact groups.

Hi. I've got this phone a few days ago and encontered a problem. It doesn't play my videos. I followed some tutorials here about converting to mp4 and 3gp but still, when I transfer the videos to my phone I can't play them. It gives me a 'cannot play' error. I've tried everything I could!! I tried converting from avi to either of those formats instead of the original file being mpeg, lowered the resolution (video and sound) and still can't get them to play! Can someone help me?

Hi, I already posted before. The best way to encode videos for this phone is by using Kingdia dvd to 3gp converter, video and sound are perfect. On another note, is there a way to skip to a specific part of the video quickly rather then fast forwarding through all the clip. Because with a 1GB card i can load whole DVDs onto it, but what if i want to start half way through the DVD? Thanks to all

Thanks for your commets, Eras3r :) I've also checked this setup feature and it's ok. Just in case, I've just reinstalled the Handset Manager - not using the CD, but the downloadable file from sharp-mobile.com and the problem is always there... When opening Contacts, it's interface shows a message - "Contatcs is read only before succesful download" [don't know if this expression matches the one you may see, I'm using spanish version software]. Then there is a blinking message at the Contacts' windows bottom side - "Attempting to connect to the phone" and... that's it! :) So it seems the problem is on the Handset Manager side. I will soon begin to dream of wonderful USB data cables... easy to use... slightly uncomfortable, but aaah easy to use... These techie-gadgets... they're driving me crrrazy!!! XD

you have to change the BT port in the handset manager! in the right top corner of the program you have some settings you can change! one of them is port COM! just change for the port that you bluetooth device is using (port 4 you said). after that close the program and open again!

Hi, everybody, After installing the BT dongle, a Belkin, there's no way for my Handset Manager to work on my PC. I can send files to & from the phone, by using the Belkin Bluetooth application itself, but not so with the very 770SH Handset Manager software. I've tried reinstalling the software, stopping the firewall, using both Windows drivers and manufacturer's ones... Thoug BT is working fine on the assigned port COM4, Handset seems not recognize it, so I just can send files one at a time (and, oh Gods, it's horrible! :-). Has someone find the same problem please? the phone overall is very, very good! Its software is very simple and bluetooth connection also too. but remember that this phone has only 5mb of internal memory and when you transfer files phone-phone you can't select the destination of files: it means you can't receive files from other phones bigger than 4/5 mb! phone-pc connection has no problems and the handset manager software of the phone works with no problems!

HI, at least it goes well with .3gp or .mp4 format video. Moreover, the resolution of the video should be no more than QCIF(176*144). Before transfering your video file to the memory card, you need to change it to the above formats by using some software like "total video converter". Hope it helps.

hello friends, I received my 770sh, and it is great. I also have put a 1 giga micro SD card, it seems it works fine. I have one question. I am able to choose between the handset memory and the memory card when I save pictures taken with the phone (I have changed the settings in the menu), but when I download via bluetooth from my computer, the items go directly to the handset memory without asking. If you mean by real ringtones can you set any mp3 or aac audio file to play as a ringtone? the answer is yes. First load the audio file onto the external memory card. Then go to menu\my items\music & ringtones. Access the external card and choose the audio file. Then using Options\Advanced\Move transfer it to the phone's internal memory. Make sure the file is not too large for the phones internal memory - large files will take a little while to transfer - be patient! Alternatively you could use bluetooth to load the file. To ishi: I've tried a Nokia bluetooth headset and it worked fine! So, it should work fine with other brands! About the included headset, it's dual, but I'm not sure if it's mono or stereo.I haven't had the time to test it more yet. I tried it a bit with only one of the earphones' and I heard allright. But, it wasn't a loud enviromnent. I'll have to test it more.

One more point, according to information on the Sharp mobile phone site (not mentioned in the manual) the phone is limited to MicroSD cards of up to 512MB. I haven't tested it with larger sized cards.

This is a superb phone, really elegant and classy. Here are some tips for some of the points raised by some previous posters: 1.Battery Power: Reduce the LCD brightness and set the mobile service to GSM only. This will make a big difference to the battery life. 2.Video playback: MPEG-4 encoded video loses synchronisation with AAC encoded audio on this phone. The phone specifies H.263 for video (even though it will play MPEG4 files). Use a high quality H.263 setting (e.g. 240kbps at 15 fps) and you will get a very good result with AAC audio and no loss of sync. There is free software available (I recommend Super) that allows you to experiment with every possible combination. 3.The music player supports MP3 playback at the maximum 320kps of the MP3 spec. This is a real plus (for example the Motorola V3x only supports up to 192kps).

I own a sharp 770, my comments and some responses to your questions: 1. Yes the flap does move a bit when closed over the other one. 2. Yes when video is enlarged th picture and sound seem the lose sync. This is probably because it is reading from the memory card which makes it slower. (Still looking for a solution) 3. On the whole it is a good phone but compared to my old Sony Ericsson K700i it has a lot of weak features. Bluetooth is one of them!

Anonymous; about the battery: you can check out the official stats on this site but to summarise, it's pretty poor. That beautiful crystal clear screen eats energy up fast. You'll need to recharge it often but my biggest gripe is the way that it gets down to one bar of power then all you get is 6 short bleeps over about 30 seconds and then it's dead. My old Sony used to start warning you three hours before it died! Sometimes I'm in a call and it bleeps to tell me its energy is low and before I have time to grab the recharger it's dead. Hi ishii, I don't know which another "sh" model you refer to, but this phone is probably the slimmest one among all sharp phones. 770sh has bluetooth, so I guess it can connect to other bluetooth devices. In addition, it does come with a headset in the original vodafone's little but cute red box. I don't know if it is momo or stereo, but the sound qualilty is pretty good.

Sorry Jan you'll also need to convert your music to mp3 format. I copied using windows media player and then downloaded a trial converter. There's loads of them around. I then downloaded using the handset manager and i've got loads of music on my phone now. The only problem i found is where an album runs from one track straight into another the converter cuts it off before the track has finished. That was a bit of a pain at first because it shortened the tracks quite a lot but, when you get used to it cutting off before the end it's ok. Don't know if anyone else knows of a way around that?

Hi Jan - you'll probably need a memory card if you haven't already got one. I bought one off ebay really cheap and I've been able to download lots of my music, pics etc. onto my phone. Took me ages to get the hang of it but now it's great. You'll need to use the handset manager which you should have got with the phone. Good luck.

Hi Lee, though I don't know what's the problem, I try to help. first, you should copy the mp3s to the following directory: X:\PRIVATE\VODAFONE\My Items\Sounds & Ringtones via your card reader of course. Then put your memory card back in your phone. You can see your mp3s by either: press the music key(the one right above number 2 key). then select "My Music" then "All Music". or: select menu, then the "My Item" icon, then select "Music & Ringtones", after that press right navigation key to switch to your memory card storage, you will find your mp3s. That is what I do, hope it works.

Lee & Foxx - firstly i bought a bluetooth dongle but I couldn't get it to work (not very computer literate!!) I think it might have been my computer. So i went shopping on line and ordered a data cable (fairly reasonable price and it came very quickly). I can now use the handset manager which should be on the disk you get with the phone. I download music either from Vodafone live or i've copied alot of my albums and changed them to mp3 and then uploaded onto the phone with the handset manager. I've copied photos this way too. Downloaded videos at the weekend from Vodafone live (special offer 99p each! bargain). Lee I think you can change the setting on the phone for incoming messages - you might have it on increasing volume? The handset manager has all sorts of weird and wonderful things you can do - record your own music, copy your data information like your diary/tasks from your computer. Hope this helps.

Hi Lee, since I don't have a data cable, I'm using a card reader. You can copy any type of files in a MicroSD via a card reader, it's just like a flash disc. And yes, when there is a sms, the alert does come in an increasing volume.

I think the phone is XCLNT and the additional info I've had from this website (Lee and Foxx) has really helped. The battery does run out fairly quickly but you get used to that and the USB cable also charges the phone which is good. I got a Micro SD card off an online sale shop I think it's 519 mg and I've got loads of music, pics and downloaded some XCLNT videos for 99p each on Sunday. My only problem with it is that it can be hard to open especially when in a hurry. Battery life could be longer but apart from that it's one of the best phones I've had - and it looks good.

Hi Doney Do you know what you are talking about? If the phone is branded then it takes up more memory? thats bullsh*t man, The sharp 770sh cannot be unbranded, the phone isnt sharp'd and then vodafone branded it, the 770SH only comes with vodafone branding, exclusive to vodafone.

it has 20mb memory however that's shared memory including all the features it has. eg calendar, alarm, etc. also if your phone is branded then you'll have less memory installed. for the provider to install a default network menu he has to use from the shared memory.

Hi,Philaslasher. I got exactly the same problem with you, sometimes the screen turn white and the phone doesn't response any more. But I went to vodafone and they gave me a new phone, thank god it never happens afterwards. It surely doesn't have to be a vodafone MicroSD. You can try some online sellers and they get much better price. I'm using a 512MB SanDisc MicroSD, and I got it for �17.

I've had this phone for a few months now and it passes my standards. The only bad things are: 1. My phone only came with 4.5 Megabytes of internal memory. 2. Sometimes the phone crashes when I push buttons too fast when listening to music, it just doesn't respond so I have to remove the battery. To luis, mine is only 5mb as well. It is said on Sharp's website that 770sh has 20mb internal memory but only 5mb memory for user use(my item). I don't think there is a way to activate the rest. To Henry, I guess it can use any sim cards when unlocked. You should ask vodafone to make sure. To debbie, I never used a handset manager. Maybe your phone memory doesn't have enough space, or maybe your MicroSD has writing protected. I can't think of any other reasons, you'd better ask a vodafone staff.

Hi Lee, it won't save things to memory card instead of phone memory while transfer via bluetooth, as far as I know no one can. Technically, there are 3 ways of transfering data (including sounds, pics, etc.) via bluetooth, data cable or card reader. Via bluetooth from another handset, the items will be automatically saved on phone memory. Via a card reader, the items will be certainly saved on memory card. I never used the handset manager(the software provided in the original package), because I neither have a computer with bluetooth nor a data cable. I think this way is the only way that you can transfer items directly into the memory card without taking it out. I'm using 'goldwave' to shorten mp3s. You can shorten the mp3s by either remove all the unimportant parts of a song in time domain or rewrite the whole sound track in another higher compressed format. Good luck lin c.

Hi lee, this time you finally made me some tough questions :-) About the battery life, it's hard to say, I've got many calls (less than 10 mins) but I do send and receive texts (between 10 and 20) everyday. It goes more than 4 days. I'd say the battery life is average, not so bad (life MOTO V3) nor good (like most philips handsets). About the alarm, I never switch it off, so I've no idea, let me try it for you now. It should be ringing now...... Yeah, it does ring. It also has snooze and off options, and after that it'll ask you whether you want to switch it on. Amazing. I'll never know that without you. Also good news on message tones. I just tried an mp3 file and it works. You can set the length of the tone as well. It also works with midi, mmf (40 chennals) and AAC audio files. BTW, I'm using the classic CTU ringtone as my message tone, since I'm a big 24 (a TV series) fan!!

Hi lee, if I were you, I wouldn't buy 770sh. That probably because I'm not a solid sharp fan, and D600 got almost everything I required (big screen with hight resolution, not a candy bar and be stylish). My previous phone was NOKIA 6680, I had to say that N6680 is a great smart phone with perfect quality, but it was 770sh who realy excited me. I'd say that you won't be disappoint if you didn't expect any improvements. pros:little better screen, much better keyboard, slim, sharp quality, vodafone customer service(the best I've ever seen) cons:it's on vodafone, you have to pay 120 pounds, and an extra 20 pounds to have it unlocked if you still want to use an O2 sim card. I'm using 3 sim by the way. I've transfered many pics, ringtones and also many contacts from my N6680 to the new 770sh via bluetooth. And you can try it in the store I guess. Hope it is helpful.

Hi lee, I'm afraid I have to say that it doesn't have a light indicator, but the external screen will lighten when you get a message or call. Actually I don't think there is a pure sharp version of 770sh. All handsets of 770sh have vodafone logos. You can get it from all the vodafone stores in Europe except Germany (as far as I known). Samsung D600 is also a outstanding phone. It has a 2mp camera without autofocus, and also a fantastic QVGA screen. I guess there are more software for D600 than 770sh. But it is thicker than 770sh, and the size of the screen is smaller. Most important, it's not a 3G phone. One of my friends got D600 a year ago, she said the plastic keyboard was a nightmare.

To alice, you can enlarge the memory of the phone by buying a MicroSD card. But the mp3s you copied to the MicroSD card can not be set as ringtones, they can only be played. The default handset code is 9999 in the UK, it should be clearly indicated on your user guide. Try 9999, if it goes negative look up your user guide.

Phone uses mp3 as ring tone but you have to copy mp3 from memory stick to phon ein order to use it and phone does not have a lot of memory only 4.6 mb So you can put one mp3 for ring tone.

To lee, the battery life is normal. The screen is much bigger than Sony Ericsson K800. It can be bought from any vodafone store in UK, and it is available on 'pay as you go', but you still need to pay 20 pounds to let them unlock it. The payg price is 150 pounds and 20 pounds for unlock code, so the total price is 170 pounds.

It is bad that you can not install JAVA applications or games on the phone with cable or bluetooth.

You can costumize all directional keys, the left and the right function keys plus the key below the disconect call key. On these keys you can put them to do any of duzens of diferent accions, including opening new message, inbox, etc. You cannot change the middle key, which always goes to the main menu.

It is easy to download games from the Vodafone live! site but I can't put them directly on the memory card, with the card reader. I've tried creating the kjava folder (with a game inside, .jad and .jar files, as sujested) in almost every folder of the SD card (the conceivable ones) but the game was never recognized. Also if the .jar and .jad files are put in an accessible folder like 'Other documents' they don't run. Plus, in the 'games' area of the phone, unlike the other areas like 'Pictures', there is no SDcard tab, only showing the internal memory tab, meaning one cannot run games from the card, nor tranfer them from the card to the phone's internal memory like you can do with pictures, music, etc... This seems to be due to the OS of the phone being restrictive thus forcing you to buy the games from Vodafone. If someone knows a way around this (hopefully without the need to flash the phone), than please help us to break free from this monopoly!!!

I have one, and I think it's a great phone: Positive stuff: -Looks great :P -Great phone call sound clarity -Good MP3 sound -Vivid image from the 1.3 MPixel camera -Goond range and stability over Bluetooth and works just fine with other BT devices, such as PC, headphones and other cell phones. -Recharges Battery in no time almost -Powerphul loudspeaker, enables you to hear music and videos at a good level without headphones Negative Stuff: -No external MP3 controls nor equalizer -Anoying unremovable camera sound -Typical dailly charge up if you use the phone frequently for music, video. -Not very easy to open up. -Not very practical method to remove the microSD card for the faster writing to the card than thru Bluetooth. Basically it's the LCD that eats up the battery, even on minimal illumination. So it will last a long time if you talk and hear music with the headphones.

you can put mp3 as ringtones! you just have to trasfer the mp3 with handset manager and put the file in the memory of the phone! not in memory card!

You need a card reader,in order for you to install java games.What you do is to create a file in your pc called kjava,then move the jar and jad to the kjava file,open SD card that you already had plugged on the USB port:move the kjava to the SD card.After that remove the USB/card reader.Put SD card back to the mobile phone.Go to menu then games and look for the java applications on the phone.When you find it.Select(JAD) install game.So that's all

If you ever need a battery for this phone and a battery only, i advise you to just get a new phone it sounds daft but today I was looking for a battery only and they do not supply batteries just now, having gone into four seperate phone shops and they all said no, and did not stock batteries for this phone so I had to phone up customer services and with a bit of persuasion get a better handset than the sharp 770sh So if you are ever in a situation where you are handing your phone over to a courier. Make Sure You KEEP your battery.

Finally got the BT working. If anyone else is having trouble with this, you have to pair the handset with your PC and then (this is where I got stuck) within the PC 'Bluetooth Places', edit the properties of the device (right click on the phone icon, go to properites, then to the 'authorisation' tab. You then have to enable/tick the correct services that are required for connecting to the handset manager (main ones are Bluetooth Serial Port and PIM Synchronisation I think). Anyway, with that sorted it's a pretty good phone for the price. Fairly decent features, and nice big screen.

I wouldn't rate the videos and Pics as 'Great'. Fine for sending in an MMS, but not something to put on a computer for looking at later. Nothing compared to a decent digital camera.

Having a nighmare trying to get this phone to connect via BT. Clearly I'm not a smart as i thought I was, but my previous Sharp GX25 was sweet. Any pointers as to how / what you have to get the phone to pair and connect with a Laptop? Regardless, this is a much better phone than the Motorola RAZR V3x.

I'm interested in that phone but I'm held back by the 2 things. 1. It doesn't have a radio tuner 2. I want it in black color and I might have to wait for that here in the UK Another thing that concerns me is something noone here has answered, that is if the phone can use mp3 songs as ringtones. Btw I've looked it up and the max memory you can have for it is 2gb with miniSD. Most sites though don't recommend more than 1gb unless you can get one with good transfer rates. ebuyer.co.uk have good deals on flash memory cards, you can get a 512mb for �11 delivered.. bargain if you ask me as it comes with 1st class post. They are not good though for bigger components as they arrive with courier and if you're working 9-5 its a nightmare to get your stuff.

You can tansfer any photo from fone to PC via BT provided ur fone BT has been paired with ur PC BT. The BT application in PC has a files transfer application. Both of these will establish a communication when transfer any photo. It is limited to photos and songs oni but not the files like excel, word and etc or one whole folder from PC.

@Lee Yes, the phone will display a flashing battery icon when charging and stop when it is fully charged. Yes, USB charging is supported. I agree it's a fantastic feature.

@Albert I apologise, Albert. My knowledge of US network is out of date. I had a look around for further information and it appears the US (T-Mobile) atleast supports 1900 Band. It should work fine. Here's a coverage area map that I found. You might find it useful. If I'm not mistaken, the US uses CDMA for 3G network. As the 770sh is specifically developed for UMTS (and I believe this is a variant of CDMA) it may not work perfectly. In any case, using 1900 GSM band should still let you use the slower GPRS function.

when you are charging the 770sh the battery level indicator flashes. when the 770sh is fully charged should the battery level indicator stop flashing? p.s if you have a data cable like me you can use it to charge phone. GREAT PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot for clearing out the snooze option question. Well, this photo seems perfect. It is 189 euros here in Portugal. It has the design, the small size, good keyboard, good screen, good battery, and organizer/alarm functions. I want to use the phone as a work tool, so I don't need the camera or fancy mp3 technology, which this one also has. I'll go for this one.

The SMS inbox can store 1000 messages. SMS text is not small, the display screen is just really big :) . BT works flawlessly. You can send and receive files and synchronise phonebook and messages to your PC

I'm finding this phone slightly annoying. If I want an MP3 song as a ring tone it has to be in the handset memory so I can't have many ringtones and anything transfered from bluetooth goes straight into the handst memory which here is hardly any space on to begin with. I have looked through all the helps available and can't find any way to change this.

Bought the 770 last week and i'm relly happy with it. The quality of the camera may not be the best, but i also dont use it much.. Overall an excellent phone, especially considering the prize (in Portugal) 169,00�. So for people hesitating between this one and the Razor or some entryline of Samsung (like the zv10 or z140) go for Sharp, no doubt! The Razor is good but just can't stand the software that Motorola is using, it's simply too slow (read annoying).. Had 5 different Sharp phones and tested many other brands thinking it would be fun or better, but I always end up with Sharp.. Only thing with the 770 may be the keypad that isn't as fast as some SMS freaks may want, but i'm sure they will get used to it. Some small details i appreciate; I can costumize the shortcuts! No Vodafone Live button or wallpaper! Addressbook is great! Integrated possibility of making backup (exporting settings, contacts etc) of data into the included MicroSD! As of 3G capabilities I actually didn't try yet. I'll keep you posted when i try the phone.. P.S. thx to all for really providing people with 1st had info on all cellphones!!

This is an excellent phone. The only down side is the size of the font when sending SMS messages. You cannot make the font bigger. If you do it turns the SMS into an MMS. This is the only minus feature of the phone.

Last week I stated my intention to buy, having weighed up that this phone would be a better option than the Motorola V3x. Having had it for two days I can say that so far I'm really happy with my purchase. Physically it's a beautiful object. In features it has a good range and is good value for money, and it performs excellently. Easy to use user-interface, good quality photos, bluetooth data transfer is easy, mp3s play at a reasonable standard, all the extras are there you'd expect. Yet to try out the Mobile TV or use the phone as a modem. I should add that the customer service I've received from Vodaphone has been good too.

@Graham You made the right choice. I've had both phones and V3x reboots randomly. I had the software updated from the shop but it still has the same problem. V3x also uses a difficult user interface, forgiveable for a while but unbelievably unbearable after some time. The 770sh couldn't be easier to use and the software's built rock solid.

Have been comparing the Sharp 770SH with the Motorola V3x and finally come to the conclusion that I prefer this one. Some of the spec may be better on the Motaorola, the camera for example, but the 770's design has won me over. Going to order online from Vodaphone, will report back in a few days, hopefully with a positive account.

I really love my new phone. but something wierd! I set the time and date but any incoming text messages come up with the time showing an hour before. I know they haven't been sent an hour before because I was having a text converstion with one of my friends. Calls are fine and show the correct time. Any ideas why?

Use File Manager of the Handset Manager and transfer mp3 in the handset's Other Documents folder. Once transferred, use the phone's move function to move it to the Music & Ringtones folder. Goodluck. I love this phone. Its no frill no fuss good looking phone.

The problem is that it will not acknowledge/recognize MP3 files in the Handset Manager, as such will not allow me to download them to the phone. It does ackowledge .wav files though

You don't need a memory card to play the mp3 in your 770sh. After loading the mp3 in your handset return to standby screen then press the music key on the keypad. Changing font size in messaging will convert message format to MMS. Sending "text" messages, unfortunately, will default to medium size.

There's a tiny LCD screen at the back that normally shows bars for the network strength and battery strength + a clock. When someone rings the number or name from the phone book starts scrolling in the LCD display. This phone got vibration and profiles, so you can either feel the vibration when you receive a text message in silent mode or create a profile with whatever signal you want for text messages and the rest silent, it also have a different ring signal for video calls. It's very flat so it fits fine in the pocket of the trousers without feeling uncomfortable. I got one last week here in Spain.

I think Sharp got good visual quality and good features in itself, but in users daily life, only visual quality and features dont matter, I think Sharp staff must look at their battery consumption. Their battery life is too low to compare with others. Once Sharp took hold of it, u will get a good scope comparatively.Thanx
