about the battery, of course in Malaysia so many battery. but many of them is not original. can use for 2 or 3 months only. the original one is expensive and hard to find.

O2 xda exec is one of the best windows mobile phone even to this date. this 6 year old phone had poor battery life when i bought, so it hanged at times. sometimes it didn't read sim cards, sometimes restarted, battery lasted only a few hours, various problems it had. i looked for the battery everywhere in ktm but couldn't find. but at last luckily now i have found new seal packed battery (bought 2 of them) and it works very well. every problem is gone. it is the best ppc only just comparable to o2 xda flame. the big size

Regarding sd/sdhc cards: there is the patch for wm5 and wm6 that makes any device with *SD slot support HC cards, just google it.

I have now tried 3 replacement batteries ( beige coloured replacements 1530mAh made in china , the phone drops out when the battery charge remaining is between 33% to 56% . Screen goes black . Press on/of and phone must reboot . Must then rechage battery again. Is it true you must get a battery made by o2 licenced factory 'Cameron Sino' HK which is a black battery with white label 1530mAh.

All O2 models have a poor battery life. It'll last a day and when the battery gets older you'll have to charge it thrice a day. It's a pain....

there is two types to syncronize your pda to pc,please make sure you pick the right type of sync installer...if you are running on winXP..download n install active sync 4.5... if window Vista use the new one.If you run Windows Vista, download Windows Mobile Device Center. *hope this can help you. here:

If you are from Malaysia, I simply discourage you to buy this phone. There is no O2 service center currently in Malaysia. Any evaluation and repairing needs to be done by a 3rd party agent, which provides horrible customer care. My main problem is that the quality control simply isn't there. Some people had fantastic units which behaved well, mine was a brat. The unit get simply way to hot when using bluetooth, wifi or when even charging. It got so hot I could feel it burning thru my jeans after about using 15minutes using the hands free bluetooth set. And screen eventually cracked with some prior notice. When I sent it to the 3rd party agent to get it repaired or evaluated, they simply refuse to get back to me and report the problem. After hounding them daily for 3 weeks only they said that under "normal operating conditions" the unit was fine. They just simply implied I am a liar when I asked how a problem so persistent for 7 months could disappear. So I don't recommend getting this phone if you are from Malaysia considering there is no O2 service center.

Hi, you can align the screen in the setting menu.you can make a soft reset or an hard reset but in this case, be carfeull, you will loose all your files, etc so make a backup before an hard reset.

I have an 02 atom for 2 yrs now and I love it. I love surfing the web and using all the pda features, but yes it does have a short battery life, especially when surfing the net or making numerous ph calls in one day. I get around it by charging the everynight and i have a spare charger and battery ready to go. I also like to charge the phone thru my laptop. My problem now is the memory is full. I dont understand coz most is on my SDcard. And it the device will not delete anything. Any help?

very stable device, it didn't hang up even it is loaded with hugh set of programs, but yes the battery issue is true and specially after two years of usage..now i turned to Touch pro but I couldn't give up the Atom exec I gave it to my mom so it would be near my eyes...if u do not need a 3G it is the right choice

To do a hard reset? Turn the phone so you can see the bottom of it and you should be able to find a reset button (use your stylus to reach it). Merely pressing that reset button will perform a soft reset; to do a hard reset you need to be pressing and holding the power button located on the top of the phone. Hope that helps.

My opinion .... I am very disappointed with the O2 Atom Exec - the battery life is appalling, even though I don't use the phone, video, or music functions! The operating system is extremely unstable - it frequently hangs, and ActiveSync appears unreliable and unstable, particularly after I install Microsoft software updates on my PC. I have stopped using this machine and will go back to either a Palm, or to a Nokia (anything with a different operating system!). My advice - don't buy . . . two of my colleagues have also stopped using their O2s. Best wishes Nick

Yup, doesnt seem you can turn off phone. But if the reason for turning off is to save on battery or not receive calls - try putting phone in flight mode. This way, it doesnt spend energy being on-line and it can have more battery life.

To: Everybody - you can change the "Ringtone" using MP3 but you can not change SMS/MMS notification using MP3. You can select/change the notification within the available default tunes. Note that "Phone" and "Sounds & Notifications" menus are separate and MP3 can be seen only under "Phone" menu but NOT available under "Sounds & Notifications" menu. P.S. Contact Numbers in phone memory can only be saved to SIM one-by-one. Contact Numbers saved in SIM can be transferred to phone memory all at once. Go to SIM manager and it will show you all the contact numbers, select all to highlight then select copy to contact.

The office mobile applications are cool especially if you dont have your laptop with you all the time. Camera is not good. The sound sucks (too low volume even if i have it on max volume) It hangs a lot especially when your battery is goin low. Over-all I wont recommend this to youngsters. I kinda think its an old-people phone :P

I bought mine on nov 07, used it for 2 weeks and the phone keep dying on me.. IE Really dead. u cant received phone call sms etc. Send it back to claim the warranty. I get it back 1 month later. Purchased this phone for less than 6 months and (1)battery cannot even charge up to 10% just recently (i use the phone only during weekends for surfing internet and miscosoft word); (2)the phone hangs although less than 4 applications are turned on, so i will have to power off then take out battery, put back battery and power on again. first according to sms tone just copy the ring tone as .wav to the windows then go to sounds and notifications and assign it.second the pocket pc does not turn off third this is the perfect phone well designed and it will not let u down but there is one thing the camera is not that good and we need more coloured covers.

Have this phone for over a month, and I just love it, the ony thing i'm still trying to figure out is that many of the poket pc software I install, don't work saying not a valid poket pc application,even skype for poket pc, someone said the default software from O2 might be interfering, and might have to restore to factory default. apart from that,one confusing thing, the clock I' had to adjut twice so far, as it lags behind. I have Atom Exec and HTC Touch Dual The differences between these 2 are : HTC Touch Dual(128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM) - with 3G/Keypad, no WIFI/FM Radio, WM6 Atom Exec (64 MB RAM, 192 MB ROM) - with WIFI/FM Radio and no 3G/Keypad, WM5 If you need WIFI very often, choose ATom Exec instead of HTC Touch Dual or HTC Touch. Please note that : - HTC Touch Dual is different from HTC Touch. - HTC Touch Dual is much cheaper than O2 Atom Exec. - HTC Touch Dual Camera is better than O2 Atom Exec. - Both phone provide Chinese software. - Both support A2DP - If you go for this phone because of TouchFlo, actually you can try a software call Touch Commander, it works on most PDA phone without TouchFlo. Hi In my Atom Exec, the option of turning on speaker phone is grayed out. I can not turn on the speaker during the call. Is there any fix for this? Also i can not assign MP3 file as ringtone. Hi all, I am experience trouble when I turn on speaker phone on my O2 XDA Atom Exec. When the speaker phone is turned on during a call, the person on the other end cannot hear my voice clearly. I can hear their voice clearly, but on the other side, they cannot hear the voice clearly. They hear some sound like Trrrr... something similar to what happens when mobile is close to a magnetic speaker. I made sure that there is no speaker or any other magnatic field around me, but still, the person on the other side cannot hear my voice clearly. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? lies? i had wm6 installed on my wm6. well, the truth is its not officially available at o2's website. but there's a community web who took wm6 from from htc universal and recooked it so it can runs on atom and atom exec. google for it, sure you'll find it. come on dude, how long you've been living under the hood? before start to talk, make sure you know what you're saying.

If you go to O2 Atom site, nothing mentioned there that WM6 ROM for O2 Atom Exec is available. WM6 ROM is available only for Atom Zinc, Atom Life. So, guys don't believe that WM6 ROM for Atom Exec is available.

I have this handphone since early August 2007 till now, I didn't upgrade to WM6 as I'm still fine with WM5, maybe later. Recently I found out the my set will hang when I exit TCPMP, but works perfectly with most of the 3rd party software, I use this handset to view my korean drama, TV program very often (1 hour journey to office), (I transfer movie clip from VCD/DVD and TV program from my PMP to Atom Exec) and recently I bought a A2DP BT earpiece (I-tech Clip Radio BT earpiece, S$129) and this earpiece come with FM stereo too, I really love this, besides watching movies, I read alot of novels during spare time(download free from internet too). Today, I saw an offer from Starhub (Singapore) promoting Atom Life at very low price (with 2 years contract), this really very attracts me due to the high ROM (1GB), but when I read the comments from Atom Life, alittle withdraw due to the "auto shutdown". Anyone know why Atom Exec is more costly than Atom Zinc and Atom Life? Thanks

It is absolutely a piece of JUNK - please do not buy it!! I have had it for 6 months and in that time I have had to bring it down TWICE to the Bugis Jn service centre and BOTH times they cannot say what is wrong. Both times, I woke up one morning and it just would NOT power on! Don't buy!!!

To: Masood - Just bought mine few days ago and it works fine - just perfect. Right after I bought my unit, I requested the store to upgrade the ROM (as my unit has a later version). Until now I have not experienced hangs, re-start, etc. Speed is really amazing, speaker is great as well and even the 2MP camera is quite decent already, screen is vivid. I would say the best PPC I've ever had.

I bought this phone 6months ago and after 3 months i discovered some of shops selling same phone but its with WM6, how come? i contacted sole distributer; but they refuse and said its impossible they dont have any idia about that and when i visited local shops they said they will charge $50 for upgrade, why O2 is playing with customers? they are releasing new devices with latest software and leaving old phone without update and by this way user also hate the brand and offcource people will not come back or in future no one think to buy O2 where as other companys updating their devices regularly and if you see lot of things are old at O2 site not updated and just forgotton. i belive if they keep this kind of strategy they will going to lose big chunk of bussiness in coming years; while others attaracting customers with best comitment service & eye candy features.

i loved the phone in the beginning. its superb with all its function and the softwares you can install. it was just great. but now after a around 2 months of use. Its shuts off automatically and does not turn on. i reset it to fac default. Its worked. no problems....now after a week same problem. the phone does not turn on.

I bought this PDA (O2 Atom Exec) early August 2007 because M1 (Singapore) having offer for National Day, it costs me only about S$500 with 2 years plan (save almost 50% compare with other operators in Singapore). My First PDA was Acer N30 and HP2000 series, than PDA phone was Eten M500, O2 mini, Dopod 818Pro (6 months) and recent O2 Atom Exec. I'm happy with this O2 phone, 818Pro gave me one big problem on sms, once 3rd party software installed, the SMS is blank, cannot create text, read message unless you hardreset the fone - I called Dopod service centre, they told me due to 3rd party software, other than that Dopod 818Pro is fine with me. The SMS bugs push me to purchase O2 Atom Exec (party because of the discount too). My experience with O2 Atom Exec only about 3 weeks, it works fine with me, I can provide some information for the potential buyer. 1) Camera - So so only (Dopod 818Pro is better), but if you need a good camera, use your digital camera. 2) Video/Movie - I use TCPMP most of the time instead of built-in Media Player, TCPMP is free and can support more format than the media player. 3) Sound - fine with me as I'm not so particular. 4) T9 - this phone not support T9, but go and install T9 phone pad -"PhonePad_Magician_Generic_WWE_RC12" and solve this problem. 5) Chinese Text - For Chinese SMS you need to install 3rd party software, I used CE-Star that provided by Dopod 818Pro, if you have friend that using Dopod, you can request a copy from them, or purchase online. 6) Battery - Fine with me as I charge daily. 7) Dictionary (English)- I installed Oxford DDT and work well. 8) MP3 - No problem (TCPMP can support too) 9) Ear buds - design not great, but is really good for me when going gym, it won't drop easily. Other sofware that I install 1) Agenda one 2) iFlytek voicebook - I like to use this reader to read Chinese Novel, the text can be very big. 3) Japan2Go phrase book 4) RealOne player 5) Japanese dictionary 6) Spb Insight - RSS 7) SysWatch - view battery status and memory 8) CJ Reader - if your phone not support Chinse, you can use this software to read Chinese and Japanese novels (txt or html file). Movies I used to convert DVD movies and some TV program to watch when I take MRT to work and it works fine on TCPMP. Games When you install 3rd party games in your PDA, O2 will paste the link to your game folder (in main memory), please create one "mygames" in your miniSD card and move all games to this "mygames" folder, this will help when you hardreset your PDA, and you need not to re-install all your games - it works fine. I've one question here, O2 Atom Exec have one function is "GPS", do I need to purchase GPS software or the adaptor, hope someone can answer me.

Hi all, I am experience trouble when I turn on speaker phone on my O2 XDA Atom Exec. When the speaker phone is turned on during a call, the person on the other end cannot hear my voice clearly. I can hear their voice clearly, but on the other side, they cannot hear the voice clearly. They hear some sound like Trrrr... something similar to what happens when mobile is close to a magnetic speaker. I made sure that there is no speaker or any other magnatic field around me, but still, the person on the other side cannot hear my voice clearly. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Can someone please tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance.

this a warning to all those who are planning to buy o2 devices in the future! beware! I am from India. I was happy using O2 phones such as the XDA II and the Atom so I decided to go in for another. I purchased an O2 XDA Stealth on Feb 12th 2007 and had immediately regretted the decision as I started facing a hell lot of problems in the device. Almost after a month of correspondence with O2 they sent me a replacement handset. I was happy until i opened the new unit. It had the same problems and some new. Again after long talks with O2 (Mr Keanu) they sent me another replacement promising me that this would work but it did not. Naturally I was very angry and frustrated. At this stage I ahd lost all faith in the Stealth and demanded O2 to give me some other handset for all the inconvienience that I have faced . After a series of talks with O2 Singapore(Mr Keanu) I received an Atom Exec. But my problems worsened! After a couple of days the Exec "died" ie it would not charge. when the charger was connected it would show full battery and when disconnected it would switch off and not switch on for days. Highly annoyed and frustrated I began my talks again with O2 and at the same time bought the O2 Zinc. That was another error from my side as the Zinc also had problems. Its indicator LED malfunctioned and the microphone gave out static. Those were horrible times for me having two defective handsets. O2 finally agreed to replace both these handsets and they did. So I have already used 3 Stealths, 2 Atom Execs and 2 Zincs. That adds up to 7 O2 phones in about five and a half months!!! Well things dont end here. once again I am having problems with the Zinc such as the LED is malfunctioning, the speaker switches on automatically when a call is made, the speaker dies out, screen freezes..etc.. So to all those who are planning on investing their money on an O2 device please do not as the quality of O2 devices is degrading day by day and is no longer dependable as it once upon a time was. if any of you want to know bout the problems i faced in these many devices please contact me on +919884414907

I was a O2 XDAII user and loved the phone until it drew its last breath after two years. The Atom Exec replacement is an excellent PDA and one I can't live with out....however.....the infra red keyboard I was given with the phone will not align and therefore am unable to use what would be an excellent addition. Are there any software upgrades I need for this to function?? I can receive emails through my POP account however cannot send emails (which is causing me a lot of angst). I've been using the GPRS. The PDA should self configure but it isn't playing ball. Am I missing something or is this another software issue?? What other neat things are available for the ATOM Exec? Appreciate your help!!

This is about the contact lastname-first name issue. While entering a contact choose first-last name in "File As" drop down.If you are using Outlook then choose the same. No need to enter first name in last name or last name in first name. There is a way to set this as default .. I dont remember now. thx

this is for Vinod Joshi, even i'm facing the same problem with the contacts, but i've found a simple solution to that.... when u enter a new contact, press the drop down menu in name field and in First Name field enter the last name, and in Last Name field enter the first name instead.!!!! isn;t that smart enuff?? otherwise u can enter the full first and last name in the last name field itself.. how 'bout that?

The atom exec comes with a handsfree n the most of all i love the infrared keyboard, it also plays mp3, n u can make it ur ring tone also by simply copy paste the mp3 file in yr windows folder - rings, it can manage multi tasks coz it got an 520mhz procesor in it..i just bought this phone last week and its quite simple to use it, this is the best phone of all iv used, easy to pc sync with the outlook..

I love this phone! I have never had any of the issues that other say they have had. My phone gets used many times a day with a Blue Ant head set which never cuts out and is really clear. I have a 2GB card installed and often watch movies or TV programs. Every now and then it locks up after heavy gaming but I just hit the reset. I even use it to transcribe the minutes of meetings. This really is a fantastic phone.

This is a fairly good upgrade to the reliable atom, but no matter what you do is not compatable with Windows Vista. I have tried everything from downloading drivers to reinstalling Vista's version of Active Sync Windows Mobile device Center, and there is still no improvement on the poor loud speaker (which in my opinion was the only flaw in the phone). So overall I think it is a fairly good upgrade, but for what it is they could have done better.

My Atom Exec have a problem. No sound from speaker when using it or activating the media player or put a phone call and it's FM radio can be activated without attached headset. But amazingly everything is alright when the headset is attached. I've try to hard reset it but still no use. Fortunately now everything is fix after trying to attached and deattached the headset several times.It seems there is a problem with the headset jack.

Sorry for waiting.. OK.. Eten X500 Glofiish: -reliable GPS (if u need it most, coz I dont) -better battery life -slim but looks cheap -2 buttons that placed above the screen is crancky -all construction actually strong but ofcourse looks cheap and old -after reset or sometimes its just makes the sound options get back to default, 3/4 from max volume -the screen is glitch or wave if u using ur stylus -gap between chasing and lcd, so its possible for dust to get in -the button almost useless, hard to press -sound is better than O2Exec, but it still u cant expect from PDA hmm.. to sum up: u'll regret it if u buy it. Ok, about price maybe its cheaper but u'll get of course cheap looks.

O.k I been using pda phones for quite some time for example: Motorola 6188 entry level pda(ol Skool). Recently I have been thru about 6-8 different type of Pda's from the Motorolla 3G 1000 to the some what new O2 mini X-ec. Hmmm as for the question on if the 02 Mini X-ex has speaker phone jus keep ur finger on the green phone icon for about 6-8 secs and the speakerphone should turnon. Now down to bussiness, all these phones:xda2i,mini,mini2, xda2, and most micro/symbian OS this includes motorola and the sony's cause they run on these OS also. I find that the developers promise far to much than the products can actually produce. I have had far to many phones where I would be using at least 4 functions and after a week-month the Pda phones starts choking, freezing up etc. Why offer so many options in a phone when the phone can't even handle the operations properly. Currently I have a OS software based problem with my O2 mini X-ec, I was running gps software, media player, camera, contacts, sync with Outlook and I will use notes and ocassionally use MS word. I just find that as a unit I feel there is still alot more R&D that will be needed in order to fully produce a phone that is totally capable of working with no glitches. Now i am using a sony ericson J210i. Still waiting for my phone O2 mini X-ec to be returned for repair. Not happy.

I have gone through 2 xda minis, recently i purchased the ipaq 6915.in short the O2's were ONLY good as PDAs where as the Ipaq is good overeall + there is a GPS that i am using, the procesor shits all over the O2. Can every one see where i am going with this?? DONT BUY O2!!!

Oh yeah sorry forgot to mention, before I bought ETEN X500, I like the features but u'll regret it. Coz a lot of bug, looks cheap, unreliable, trully I've replace it just for 1 weeks and suffer $70. Shit happen right, and ofcourse if ur looking for a device for works and reliable, just dont amaze with spec without a perfect quality. Just believe it, ok thx..

This is a good PDA exactly, and I've been using it for almost 3 weeks. No defect, not a thing.. So.. maybe I've got the good product, coz every 1000 product usually there's some defect about 10% and sometimes pass Quality Control. The Major of it bad points are the battery life and speaker without equalizer (u had to set it) also the equalizer is useless when u set any song as ringtone. I love the phone, small, fast (even for camera, no 5 sec taking picture like someone said below, it's just fast, no O2plus bug, it's just smooth) Thx maybe this is could help for taking decision.

I love the speed of this phone. I actually have an Atom Life with 1GB rom 64RAM but I'm not satisfied with the processor speed. it's just 416. I want a high-end ppc. though this has wifi, 3g, bluetooth 2.0, FM and all those upgrades. Hi I have problem with my atom exec.I purchased my atom exec pda from Fortress Shop at Honk Kong in August. At the beginning there were few problems because of its a new product. I upgrade my rom one month ago. And there wasnt an important problem. But 2-3 weeks ago suddenly my phones sound has gone. I cant use phonespeaker and Microphone during a phone conversation. There is no sound from speakers when media playing and notifications, warnings. The interesting thing is its ringing when an incoming call comes. I can use the headset without a problem. Also bluetooth headset is working. I wrote to O2 support and they suggested me to do hard reset. But I had allready done it seveeral times and I upgraded my rom. Finally they told me to send it to Honk Kong. I am living in Turkey and its not a good idea. Can anyone help me? Kind Regards.

px27x is what you call a family of intel xscale. It could be 270,271 or 272. But I'm still kind of skeptical as when I tried using o2 life, the processor shows intelscale 27x. It's a promotional phone so maybe they kept it that way to maintain it's standard and to add injury to insult I doesn't show it's processor speed as well. It has not been released yet. Anyhow, this phone is Great and I'm just actually waiting for o2 flame to get released for the price to come down. o2 flame is expected to come out this feb 07 firtly in thailand.

I've owned it for 1 month already. I found it's a fabulous pda phone. It's look nice, great design and feel good when holding it together with it's pouch and Ir keyboard. But I experience sometimes got hang.. when I tried to change my background and when I make phone call to anybody.. my opponents can't hear me clearly.. Im not really satisfy too. When you receive any with bluetooth, system auto receive...till it prompt out msg ask u wan or not. Safe or not ar> If it is a virus then how ar? Mine also they don install the chinese software and keyboard one and maybe other which i din realize now. Then after u copy songs into my o2, slow loading expecially alwix need update the library in order for u to see the latest song list and etc. 2G given also make d O2 too slow...boring d. cos i need put aside before i can move to other sessions.

Received this phone on November 1. No problems yet (with the software). However, the battery is ridiculously powerless. The Software is�. Sosolala. My idea was to get a more handy business phone (bought the P990 about 3 month ago). However after 3 days I�ve to admit I wasted my money. The O2 Exec it�s no match for the P990i. My advice: Hands of the O2 Exec.

i just bought my atom exec for 1 month.the phone casing is nice if compare with atom.coz its surface is not metallic(not so easy to get finger).i sastifate with the performance..the phone run smoothly and never hang(if u download the correct software, pls make sure u dont download the o2 plus that given by o2.. that software is "sux"..for me, i will recommaned user download the spb phone plus(can download from aivanet)coz using this software, the phone will not simply hang.for them who like to listen to eng song radio, i recommaned to download the resco radio.. which is connect using broadband..so that mean user dont need bring handfree to anywhere and can enjoy listening radio).for me,i have been using o2 mini, atom and atom exec.. this 3 phone have a same "sux" on the sound and camera ,so i hope o2 can " upgrade "!!and i cant see well on the screen when walking at the morning or noon, the screen cant look well.!!for the software....can someone tell how to download the dictionary software(h & h that support all character of dictionary)and the smartmovie software that can support the avi file ? i trying to search for a long time... but cant find it...

While I admit the phone does have some readaiblity problems in the sun. I have had no other negative issues with it. I have not had the phone hang or reset since I got it out of the box. My other collegues have had a few issues but most of these appear to be when upgrading the software and installing "added extras" I find that it syncs fine with outlook and keeps me from forgetting my appointments and wit hthe wireless I can happily surf the net wherever there is an access point available. While it takes a little bit to get used to it once you do I would never go back to a regular phone.

High level user of smart-phones. Had o2 atom for 2 weeks , returned faulty out of box...took 4 weeks to repair (MPS in australia is o2 support...terrible) Got phone back. Exact same problems! 1)Handsfree function gives other side of call buzz buzz static. 2) Headphones supplied or 3rd party give other party echo. 3) annoying high pitched buzz from LCD nect to your ear on all calls. Functions look promising but as per other posts, slow and buggy. Reg fixes increase speed...but hardly something a normal user should have to do. Careful...o2 supplied task manager type programs are terribly buggy and slow phone down. Strange issues too...like ActiveSync starting by itself and kicking off your GPRS. thanks for the big phone bill!!!

This phone looks great and promises everything I want. Trouble it it doesn't deliver. PDAs are still miles behind Sony and Nokia, the software isnt integrated, its slow, difficult to configure, people cant hear me and I cant hear them, reception is poor, the telephony / windows interface is clunky. We all want the same thing, Windows and phone on the same platform, but I havent found a product that is reliable and does what it says on the packet!

Great pocket PC,software stable , rarely had to restart , handwriting recognition is great,WI-FI is brilliant ,extremely fast browsing and downloading,Battery life is convenient if you lower the display brightness , sound is really good .Camera not bad at all . the display is very nice with real high resolution ,But I can't find an option to wrap the web page to the display size

No ROM update to fix crashing problem. Constantly have to reset phone like 30 times a day because it hangs. It already gas the 07-21 ROM update version but problem persists. I like this phone very much but unless the problem can be fixed, it is absolutely useless. Strongly NOT recommemded.

No anti-virus SW... Not that I know off. If you like touch screen and see this as an 'alternative' to a very very compact Windows device, well and fine. If you are expecting ease of use ... well, ok if you have love Windows OS. The camera rated at 2Mp is a crap. Switching is on is not instantaneous. Take a shot is worst. You subject would have been out of view by the time you shutter 'click' sounded. Quality is bad. You would need plenty of image editing if you are expecting to print them. Good enough for shots meant for scrap book or school projects.

Worse phone ever. Bought it in May 2006 and keep regretting. U can use MP3 as ringtone. U need to convert MP3 to WMA which has bigger file size. This is only a trivial problem when u compare to other headaches. The camera is horibly slow. Press the shutter release and the icon spin for a good 5 second before it clicks. Out in the sun the screen is obliterated so u can hardly see what you are shooting. Indoor photos are horrible. The phone hangs and well.. hang at the most crucial moment - when I was driving and trying to set it to 'speaker phone' mode. Pressing the left-green-phone button for more than 3 seconds and it resets!!! Rebooting and rebooting. Each time I have to enter the PIN number (and the origanizer password as well). Try viewing photos? Have yet to find a way to scroll between previous-next photos. Wonder why have buttons when you can program them to do simple tasks. O2.. Oh Oh...

The tap screen sounds very bad (like radio parasite voice). Is it due something wrong in this program or all Atom Exec sound like this or, only mine that I chose a bad one? I'm not satisfied with this device because usually it does not work properly, freezing, slow or stuck.

To set ring tones. You need to copy and paste the songs to the rings folder.Open the file explorer, then open the widows folder. Then the folder after programs is rings. OPen and copy the songs there. They will appear in youroption for rings.

I just bought a mighty atom and think its the greatest PDA ever. i guess i'm lucky cos' mine came already installed with the latest update. only hangup is the batery life. i sync constantly though with my laptop so i dont mind.

I have been using o2 atom exec for over 2 months. I like this phone a lot. pros: size and weight good phone reception Cons: Audio quality on speakers (worst) Keyboard provided is useless. Overall if you need a PDA phone that can fit into your pocket, this is the phone. If size does not matter, you have many other options.

Very disappointing experience.. I will return the device tomorrow. Spent the last 3 days trying to get it to sync, which would not work on my PC or Laptop and neither using USB nor Bluetooth. I read probably all the forums that are out there and tried lots of things including turning off the firewall or allowing ActiveSync access in the firewall. Nothing worked. Then, while trying to chose a picture from the mini SD card as background for the Today screen, the device just switched off. Turning on produced the blue O2 screen twice and since then I can not even do a hard reset. I guess this is what happens when you bring a product to market without sufficient testing.

my phone (o2 Atom Exec) doesn't seem to operate the USSD commands, like *400#, *411#, these services let me know the balance left and other phone related services ..but it works perfectly in my older nokia sets. All it does when given such USSD commands is asks to Wait for a moment for a response!!! and it doesnot respond at all... ny1 suffering from same problem???? experts out there, plz help

Chuck - a possible solution.... If you chose "Use specific IP address" for the 'O2 Wireless WiFi Adaptor' network card, apart from setting the gateway address to suit your router (and the mask), you will also need to 'Name Servers' tab and enter your routers address for the DNS entry. For example, if your router has an address of 192.168.0.1, and your exec was set to 192.168.0.20, you would need to make the following settings: IP Address Tab:- IP Address: 192.168.0.20 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 Name Server Tab:- DNS: 192.168.0.1 leave the other entries blank. hi,i just brought myself a new atom exec and did a rom upgrade as advised from the official o2 site and now my phone hangs when i put the camera on. the incoming call noise level is so low even at maximum throttle. the reception quality is so poor in elevators and buildings :( can anyone suggest any form of hack or trick that could get things right,or i if some one has a backed up copy of the earlier rom version which more stable,i would gladly except.i am so disappointed that such an expensive device shows such malfunctioning after a software upgrade:(

I'm pretty disappointed by the Atom exec because the keyboard is totally useless. It is some US$100 dearer from the regular Atom. The Wifi works OK at home since I have a wifi router at home. In general OK but I wish I had bought the HP6828.

If you turn off this phone you will get plenty of time. If you do not need to use this device as a phone then this device will last a long time with the battery it has but if you use the phone or turn on the phone service then it will eat your battery up pretty quick.

Great phone, however as a business user the battery life is pathetic. I get at most 2 hours using the phone if I am lucky. This is a major issue, have 10 of these and cannot wait to get rid of them as have to carry at least three batteries with me if I am on the road. Getting a spare battery charger is almost impossible, trying for two months in Australia. O2 support is also hopeless, never follow up, bad information, speak to 5 different people and have to explain the same things. I suppose if you have the phone plugged into power all the time it is great, however I have a notebook computer that costs only $500 more and it lasts for 6 hours on battery !!!!!!

Used the phone for a week now. The only problem I have still having is the WiFi. I can't connect with the internet. The phone found the wireless connection but when I tried to Browse there's an error saying "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again". erm .. I have own this phone for more then three weeeks now nothing downside but battery life span are quite ok and then the sync not a problem most of the software support just 1 problem is that the stereo headset that come with are terrible .. so hope o2 saw this ..

Been using the phone for 2 weeks now. Overall, the best phone I've used to date. However, I had some problems synching my phone to my PC.... for those facing the same problems, here are a couple of tips for you. Make sure you've downlaoded the Activesync 4.1 or 4.2 version. Disable your Anti Virus and firewall. That should do the trick.

Hi all, i had the 02 Atom and all i can say that was big problem and all the important stuff still is not resolved with it. it can't even rechage with a car recharger loose signal and you have to reset your Atom and wait 5 mins to get signal...to say the least i was pissed off with it even with the current rom updates this was not fixed. I sold it and now waiting patiently for SE P990 to come to Australia and yes its out. if want a good quality ph no problems best 2mp camera and build quality second to none. and the back battery cover that does not just come off with a slight push. get the SE P990 or save for it. you will not have to buy another one for a long time. Oh buy the way O2 do not make the Atom its made by cheap Quanta who also rebadges the ph to HP. Dont say i did not warn you. :-) dont be an idiot read other forums as well.

O2 is a very good phone once you get used to it. Skype runs fine on it with ADSL high speed wifi. could use more internal memory for programs that run better on internal install instead of memory card. I use 2 gig card no problems. Camera is just so so and runs slow. worst feature on the O2. windows 5.0 is smooth with newest version. Phone quality is good. Does not have auto answer however useful with blue tooth headset. Sound quality is great and in stereo. I would recomend this PDA phone to high tech users. I is a very powerful device in a very small pkg.

This is for the bro(?) who wants a 818pro over a Exec: Forget 818pro, unless you just want to save a few bucks. This is everything better but price. I when to 4 stores today asking about 818pro with skype, and none of them care to notice Skype only runs at or over 300MHz, all except one honest salesman at the end. So I'm willing to save one more month just to get my hands on this puppy. My two cents.

The Atom Exec has been availabe in HK for over 2 weeks, with the Chinese OS version came out just a few days back. The IR keyboard that comes with the package is really cool, but I'm want to read more reviews before making a decision. In HK, the O2 Atom was widely regarded as a more expensive China made option with bugs compare to the Taiwan made Dopod 813pro.

loz again, i agree this pda sync better with windows, but u can sync it with a mac. u use a software called missing sync for mac. not as smart as windows, but u can sync all imp details

loz again, Unfortunately, Pocket PCs synchronise better with PC Windows rather than Mac. They use Windows Mobile (by Microsoft) and synchronise calendars and contacts via Outlook (anothe Microsoft software).

Hi, This is a great phone, looks good and is feature rich, Still i think it is priced more than it is worth off. Also i dont know why gsmarena experts do not do a review on the O2 models we would like to know more from the real experts there are not many sites like this and there are more expectation from this site i beleive.
