O2 XDA Ignito - User Reviews

  • Yeah it looked like the HTC Touch Diamond.

  • its my letest brand i ever seen vefore

  • this is htc diamond!!!! and htc sence!!0_0

  • why ur using this mobile

  • the diffrence between ignito snd diamond is only the back cover in ignito it dosn't have the diamond cutting like the htc virsion it's normal back cover.

  • i have the mobile with german language, how i have to change it to english, please help me.

  • Basicliy i have got the phone up and running but i cnt seem to send anything over from my other phone by bluetooth can someone help me

  • nothing... man, you really needed me to say that?

  • Hi, What is the difference between HTC Touch Diamond and O2 XDA Ignito? Please reply

  • the problem i am having is that i got it program to use the internet and remove the chip and i lost all the setting and had to go back to the provider to reprogram it,it doer not store the settings and the bettery is not good other wise it good

  • i have used a lot of fones but i wanted to stop on the 02 xda ignito but the problem i have with it is the battery.very very bad.

  • I've had this phone for 18 months now. Ok - good points - small, nice display, nice features, good GPS, looks good and pretty hard wearing. Now the downsides. Most I suspect can be directed at it being a Windows phone but my primary requirement is for it to be an actual phone. In this respect it's mixed. As a conventional phone, there are 2 bugs. Firstly it can ring twice before actually alerting you. If you have voicemail it doesn't leave much time to answer. Secondly (fixed by a recent s/w upgrade) the hang up button was the main button on the screen. So, it rings, you take it out of your pocket to answer and by the time it's made it out of your pocket, it's hung up. They've put a slider button on there now, better but this can be tricky to operate and It often takes 2-3 attempts to answer. To be fair there are the actual buttons but this seems counter intuitive sometimes. I also use it with a Mercedes bluetooth system. I've lost count of the number of calls where the phone rings but doesn't answer. Where there is no audio if it does answer. Where the car says all is well and connected yet the phone rings and the car doesn't or where I press the voice dial button in the car and by the time the phone has responded, the car has given up waiting. In this respect, this phone is very lucky to not have been thrown out of the window on a great many occasions. (Had it been cheaper it would have been) I have reset the car to no avail, but a reboot of the phone always sorts it - hence it's the phone that's at fault here. Battery life - minimal use - 2 days - this is fine as we can all plug it in overnight so I don't care. The camera - ok quality - not great but hey - but, press the shutter button and wait 3 seconds for it to actually take! I've had a great many pics of walls and areas where something was happening when I pressed the button but had long gone by the time the phone did something. The touchflow is great, but I have spent many frustrating minutes chasing buttons around the screen. The incoming text message one for example, you hit it for it to magically move as you do, putting you into mail. It also has a tendancy to duplicate words in text messages. So, on the whole, great features let down by slow processor and very nasty (Windows) Software. I originally decided never to have anything with WIndows or HTC on them ever again. I may give HTC another chance with Android, but as an IT guy, I should have known better than to trust anything from Microsoft - after all, I always laugh at people suggesting using their products for servers. So Win Mo - NEVER, EVER AGAIN!!

  • No, mine does this too. Missed lots of calls due to this. Afaik, lots of issues with this phone are down to the fact it's a windows phone so, in pure Microsoft tradition it's too slow to cope with basic functions.

  • can u tell me how its blutooth share.nd conect with pc

  • If anyone can plz tell about its availability in dubia or its Price so i will be very thankful.

  • why you are comparing to iPhone 3GS, you have to compare with iPhone 3G because thats the year they are released, or iPhone 3GS vs HTC Desire

  • Hi all, I'm using this fone for more than 4 months.... The battery life is so short that i've to charge the mobile two times a day... Can anybody tell me if i'll buy new battery, will it work not for a day atleast...

  • Hi all, I'm using this fone for more than 4 months.... The battery life is so short that i've to charge the mobile two times a day... Can anybody tell me if i'll buy new battery, will it work not for a day atleast...

  • it is htc touch diamond

  • HTC Touch Diamond :-j

  • its batrry life sucks its vry short ..........plz help me...

  • how to change message center no. in xda ignito...my msgs r not being sent

  • its because when u recieve anything through bluetooth it saves ur file in device memory & not in ur internal storage.(which is less than ur internal storage...appx upto 93 mb) U can go for bluetooth explorer to exchange the data with any other device.

  • why does it always say not enough internal memory while recievin files. when clearly there's 4GB on the phone?? .. please reply if u have answers.

  • I'm using this model everything is great... i just want to know how can i forward message to anybody which are situated in phone memory... kindly help me with the same...

  • o2 xda and htc are the same o2 just brand them as xda's

  • You can't really compare this to the iPhone and there is a far better camera on this than the 3GS and there was no video camera on any iPhone til 3GS and even so this is better than that too. Actually in my opinion it is better than the iPhone in every way except the speed of internet however this can be increased by getting both a WiFi connection and a Wireless LAN network. It is also very customizable - more so than the iPhone. It doesn't crash unless you have messed it up or taken it into a bath with you, which I presume you have.

  • slow, quiet, crashes, awful internet browsing. inferior to iphone in every respect - avoid

  • HTC Diamond and O2 XDA Ignito are both same.

  • this phone have a great spesification

  • call me diamond

  • Does anyone have this problem -- my profile is on Normal, my alert for incoming call is set to Ring (i.e. not vibrate then ring/ring & vibrate/increasing volume ring etc etc) BUT whenever someone calls me my phone will make no sound for the first two rings that the person calling me will hear in their phone, and instead will just flash its light twice. Only on the third ring will my phone actually make a sound! Which means that by the time I hear my phone and manage to get to it, I may have only heard it ring twice whereas the person has actually sat waiting on the phone through 4 rings... How can I stop this? I keep missing calls...

  • Whether this mobile will work in india or not

  • the phone is 4 yo enjoyment use the earphones if you dont like the sound quality from the speakers OK

  • i have owned it for a month now and i can say its trully brilliant, great specs and fun! the only faults are the really terrible speaker, its quiet and crackly when slightly loud, and no flash, needs a xenon flash so badly!

  • It's not pirated at all, O2 and HTC has some kind of business relationship, I think it called OEM? Don't really remember.

  • awesome

  • what is it? htc touch diamond? htc released touch diamond 2 at 2009, would o2 released O2 XDA Ignito 2??? pirate..................

  • go to hell all of you

  • I don't understanding 02XDA Igito use SIMCARD 01 or 02?

  • well actually the set is really great but in my point of view it has 2 flaws, i.e first of all the touch screen should have been a bit more sensitive and secondly the sound of the handset should have been louder then it actually is. i have been trying to find any sort of software that might enhance its sound, if anybody has got any solution to the current ituation in hand, do post it out please. overall, if a person is comfortable in using a windows mobile, then its an awesome set to have.!!

  • it doesnt just look like the HTC touch diamond, it has the exact same features. only the release dates are different.. compare them if u like!

  • It looks like HTC touch diamond, doesn't it?

  • hey guys! just went browsing and went into this fone just want to know how much it costs here in the philippines? or is it even available here?? tnx..=)

  • whats the price range of this fone???

  • just go to xda and flash a WWE on it already...

  • Does anyone know when htc will release the HD version to o2 XDA? I'm waiting for that :)

  • hi! can you help me ? My O2 XDA Diamond is bought from Germany, used Windows Mobile 6.1 Germany languge. How to convert English language ?

  • What kind of rom did you install?

  • Scroll up using the wheel. it will then turn the message blue. then click menu in the bottom right of the screen and the forward option will be available. took me a while to figure it out too!!

  • I'm going to be completely honest with you and tell you about this phone. Firstly I don't understand why the HTC diamond can get such a better overall rating when its the exact same phone as the ignito and has the exact same specs! This phone deserves such a higher rating! Firstly, I'm big into my tech stuff and i can say this phone is so much more advanced than most handsets out there at the minute! The screen resolution is amazing! Its just like having a mini high def computer screen in your hands! Internet browsing is a dream on it! Fair enough, the phone may be demanding on the battery but the phones specs make up for that big time! The built in youtube player is a biggie for me especailly if you have unlimited internet usage! Anyway, enough of the rant, great phone, go out and get one!

  • My XDA Ignito does not give me the option to forward text messages. Should I hard reset? Please tell me how to hard reset and also if I can manage to forward messages without hard reset Thanks

  • copy from HTC? zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Just for thouse hard of reading that go on about this being a HTC rip off have a look at On this site - it tells you what all networks rebrand HTC handsets as . . .

  • Someone interested in this phone??I have 13 units and all are very cheap. You can reach me at mail above.

  • because HTC manufactures their pocket pcs

  • why so many 02 phone models look exactly like a HTC.... it identical don't you think.. ?

  • it's very diffrent fone in my store if you want this fone then contect me as soon as ..! and stylish :)

  • I agree. They have poor support, very poor customer support. They will just call you back and answers nothing about your query. :-(

  • DOES anyone know if this is the upddated handset for the XDA Orbits out there or the XDA Trion, Stellar? If it's for the Orbits, then does anyone know what the newer handset will be for the Stellar? HTC launched a TyTNii which was T-Mobiles Vario 3 and O2's Stellar....Now A Vario 4 for T-Mob has been anounced (by HTC) but there is no metion if O2 will release this and if it will be the new version of Stellar....Anyone?

  • yes the Ignito is has the same interface cos i have ignito and mi brov has diamond - Natasha

  • I think this co. does not respect the customers uptill now we r suffering from flame with very bad support therefore u should be careful when buying its products

  • How do we get to the website you stated to flash it and is it easy to flash, what dow e need to do it etc?

  • isnt this an o2'd up touch diamond? yeah it must be. the one thing with mobiles you must all learn, always buy the generic devices, they run so much more smoothly

  • does anyone know does the ignito use the same interface as the htc diamond? might seema daft question but alot of the xda range (which are just copies of the HTC range) use the o2 interface which looses functionality e.g. touchflo on stellar is rubbish in comparison to the tytn II can you use youtube on o2 as ignito as aposed to htc diamond? thanks for any help

  • It does have GPS, works perfectly with TomTom 7.

  • Great handset but this does not have GPS as stated in the spec on here

  • You what? Not as good as the Orbit? True the orbit is a nice fast phone, but this has a 528Mhz processor with 192 Mb RAM, plus 3d acceleration. Its much better.

  • Had the Ignito a few days now - It's Amazing. For all those who aren't sure - this is the HTC touch diamond but has been re-branded by 02, the differences being the 02 branded software (yuk!) and the smooth back cover (instead of the chiselled diamond) which is much more masculine than the diamond effect which i find a bit girly! First thing to do is head on over to xda-developers and flash an original HTC rom to the phone to debrand it and improve the radio. This gave me the original HTC interface and makes the battery last longer with improved radio/network interaction. The interface is also a lot more responsive. I owned an imported jailbroken iphone for several months before the Uk 02 release and loved it but sold it due to it's bulky size but quickly started to miss it. After a few months of not having it, i've been eying up the Diamond but in the end went for the Ignito due to the smooth back cover and i actually find this even better than the iphone. The screen quality has to be seen to be believed, its so crisp and colourful, the iphone's dislay was amazing but this destroy's it. I turned off the auto brightness setting as i found it kept the screen quite dull, even in the dark. The sound quality through the built in speaker is good, it's not amazing but it is better than the iPhone's. The size of this thing is amazing, it feels so good in the hand. Battery life is OK, it lasts me pretty much all day, after listening to music for an hour, several text messages/emails, a few calls etc, also worth noting that the phone comes with an in car charger/screen protector and leather case. After a few days usage, i love it and think it's the perfect device for me.

  • very nice phone , thoousand times better than Iphone 3g

  • Read my earlier comment: IT IS THE HTC DIAMOND JUS WITH O2 BRANDING. Why dont people read things n i kno its is this fone because i work for o2 n am using the o2 xda orbit ii/HTC touch cruise. all xda fones and alson mda fones are htc fones just in different cases n re-branded

  • Why is this exactly the same as the HTC Touch Diamond? If I had a choice to choose between the Diamond and this, I'd choose the Diamond cause this is just a complete copy.

  • Am I the only one who can see that this is actually the HTC diamond, rebranded and uglier ?

  • What a pants fone. The interface is great, but this fone is incredibly slow and the battery life is awful. Not my idea of an upgrade from the xda orbit. I've been told that the Samsung Tocco is much better on battery life and is quicker to react, so I might get one (though I don't like to follow the masses). I have used touchscreen fones since the P800 and found that, though this is pleasing to the eye, it really is a let down compared to all the touchscreen fones I've used. Such a shame. If those couple of problems were sorted out, I would consider purchasing this fone again.

  • Received the Xda Ignito this week and a bit like that girl that kissed another girl...I quite like it! Has got some really nice features on it and I find it very user friendly. It might take a bit of getting used to if you are not familiar with this type of phone but if you are looking for something that is really basic and easy to use then stick to a Nokia! It offers a lot more than making calls/sending texts. Not sure what all the complaints are re the battery life, mine is fine and ive used it loads since i've got it just to suss it all out. All batteries are fairly poor on phones these days, just take the cable to work with you! The only thing I would say is touch screen keyboard/number pad are a bit fiddly but they do supply the stylus so you cant have it all! All in all I think this is a good handset, plus its not too heavy either. Gets the thumbs up from me.

  • i was waiting eagerly to get on .. well am not impressed at all.. a simple piece of gadget.. lacks to attract and the sound quality is weired.. no where near to a perfect multimedia setup. software combinations are quiet good , but some features are just killing the time .. i think windows mobile is to blaim for things like bluetooth connectivity. they are trying to dominate in the same way as they do in pc world.. however mobiles will be better off with simple operations. although its a touch phone.. the os needs to be improved to be user friendly. over all in my opinion phone is a good peice of equipment, but poor sound quality and very much lacking in attracting.

  • has anyone else noticed this phone looks just like the htc diamond?....... just kidding. jesus christ there are some stupid people who write/dont read comments on here. surely people have worked out that the phones are one and the same by now!!!!

  • To all these people that keeps asking why this looks like the htc diamond and why it has the same spec, it's because it is the htc diamond, it's just that o2 have re-packaged it. They do the same with ALL xda phones, I have the orbit 2 but when you open the battery cover it has a htc battery, this is because it is the htc touch cruise just in a different shell. HTC are partners with o2 NOT sister companies as they are 2 totaly seperate companies (they are both from different places to start with) htc just give there phones to o2 the same way nokia and s/e do but you dont hear anybody saying they are sister companys. O2 do make there own phones regardles of the previous posts (i.e o2 ice) its just that they arent realy that good.

  • Hey, this phone is not for a heavy and demanding user, just a stylish and sexy thing which is nice to touch, also small and lightweigt to put it in a lady's bag. I've downloaded skype and good dictionary, like it and never complain. This is more than a phone anyway..

  • Why does it so look like HTC Diamond ? Every features are the same as HTC Diamond ?

  • Is this no the touch diamond?

  • :o( ... have just received the Xda ignito and (why does this not surprise me!) it doesn't seem to work: when the Pocket mobile screen launches and it asks you to callibrate the screen it accepts the first 'tap' but when it moves to the next screen with the 'x' it won't acknowledge any more taps and just freezes. Please advise folks: I work with a Blackberry at work - do I just send this back and ask for a Blackberry? I worked for O2 for many years and in those days Xda's NEVER worked (my sister even had one a couple of years ago for her work and sent it back because it was poor on call connection). Despite knowing all this stuff and having a bad feeling, I let them talk me into it thinking after all these years they MUST have got it right by now. There is obviously something wrong with it anyway, and it will have to go back, so if I've got the chance to change it should I go for Blackberry? I need to send high volumes of texts and emails so if I have something that isn't going to work, it's going to drive me nuts. What do you think folks? (*and PS: V is absolutely correct about O2, they are a network service provider and do not manufacture phones. They partner with other companies to do so (and do not own those companies). O2's history is that it was originally Cellnet, became BT Cellnet in a take-over from BT, absorbed Martin Dawes Telecoms, and during the difficult times BT had, BT changed it's name from BT Cellnet to O2 and floated it as an independent company).

  • Very Stylish phone, it is a really shame the battery life is so poor, it makes it fairly unusable when out and about unless it is plugged into car lighter.

  • I got the phone yest n I got the iPhone aswell and oh my days the phone is slow n battery drains wen using the gps. There's options which are not needed n to be honest I'm returning it for the bold. Terrible phone do not upgrade unless you want a crap phone!

  • I ought to confirm that it comes with the flat back/battery cover and the smaller 4.5hr talk time 800mAh battery...booo! It does have an in-car charger included though!

  • Got this on upgrade yesterday and it's awful. Perhaps if you're a regular WinMo user you might get along with it, but all the hoo-har about TouchFLO is unfounded -yes, there are improvements to previous pocket PCs, but it's not really possible to operate it without the stylus and it's soooo slow. I understand it does a hell of a lot more than most phones (watched a YouTube vid on it last nigh...v. good) but the basics are pretty shoddy. I would be wary about swithing to this if youve never had a Windows based handset before. Watch for mine on eBay!!

  • O2 confirmed price in the UK, it's free on the 35 tariff, 99 pounds cheaper than an iphone

  • why no card slot ? need

  • same as htc

  • i tell you what? coz xda ignito follow the same stlye as touch diamond.so the first one should be got higher score!

  • Why the ratings are different? - not the same people rate it - if you buy the real thing (HTC) you get a unit working as it was designed - if you buy it with O2, you get a useless operator SW, that not only takes up space but also limits the functionality. Specially when you are roaming....

  • Cn ny 1 tel me why ratings r difrnt fr htc diamond n O2ignito wn both r same.

  • its really HTC, but o2 have made their own version, but all the spec is the same as the original htc, also t mobile have got one, called the t-mobile mda compact IV. they all look good i bought the htc, waasnt too happy, lags alot, batt life is poor and it heats up at the back. Now i got the SE g900, and what a phone that is!!!

  • WOW this phone is awesome. i think this will be my next buy. First to comment. Yahooooo/.

  • wrong...google the term 'sister company' and you will soon find out that typically it relates to companies under one umbrella, sharing one parent company. O2 and HTC are 2 seperate entities without any root link except for their business collaboration. tw*t!

  • its the HTC Touch Diamond WTF!!

  • @ V Yes, HTC is a mobile manufacturer and O2 is a mobile service provider. And YES they are also sister companies. V, what sister companies means in simple english is that they are working together/ collaborating each other to produce the needs of each party.ok. Now, if you think those two arent sister companies, why is this handset produced??? made by HTC branded by O2??? Its the same with HTC and Tmobile. MDA Vario VII. what an airhead.

  • Because people seem to think it's alright to assume and come out with a load of bull****... and whoeva said HTC and O2 are sister companies...no. O2 is a network provider and HTC provider of the handset.

  • Ditto copy of HTC Diamond..

  • all this is the HTC Diamond with 02 branding, which is basically what most UK Phone companies do, its not a copy of the original, its exactly the same with 02's software incorporated into the software design of the phone, basically how tmobile have called this Phone the "T-Mobile MDA Compact IV" this is what 02 have decided to call it, the why do some people think its 02's version of the htc touch diamond, its exactly the same!!!!!!!

  • wow. it really is identical to the touch diamond, right down to the dimensions!! :O I just hope it does have better "in use" battery life than the diamond, which is fairly poor. plus this had better have a nicer to hold back as well... touch diamond feels weird in your hand lol

  • i highly recommend to all the mobile freaks out there, the HTC Touch Pro is probably the BEST phone out there so far!the O2 and HTC are sister company.dont get me wrong i owned HTC phones and O2 phones.

  • i forgat to mention that i hope there isn't an o2 pro

  • unfortunately it has the diamond cover that's my only problem with the handset i dont mind the battary life

  • you can get the same battery life on the diamond with the extended battery, but you wont have the 5 line physical keyboard like on the pro...

  • Nice try to copy HTC Diamond but it will fail......

  • its the same with htc diamond..but over all ill pick pro with 8 hrs talk time.the HTC pro is probablly the best phone out there rightnow.

  • this is the same diamond, but in O2, like all the O2 phones. And this cant be better because the only thing who change in this is the name, compare the specs and you can see...

  • maybe yes, in some aspects...

  • is it better than diamond?

  • not bad at all nokia keep your style [email protected]
