  • Easy, go and open Microsoft Active sync on your PC or desktop and go to the "options" icon, and open it, then go to the "Rules" tab and click it open, and then go to the 'Conversion settings" towards the bottom, open it. Make sure the "Convert files when synchronized, moved or copied" box has been ticked, then go to the tab at top "device to Desktop", you then need to open each icon, and edit it so that anything you write in "Notes" for example changes to *.rtf and that should do it

  • i bought my xdaIIi as 2nd hand but i have a prob.because my fone is grounded..

  • Hi to all XDAIIi users - i recently bought this unit 2nd hand. I agree with the others who said that this is an amazing phone because of its practical features that one can use as an alternate tool to their laptops and PCs. However, I just noticed that songs that have wma extension files can be used as ringtone. is this true? do you have the same experience? how about the message alert tone? can you customize or personalize it if you want to use true tones for incoming messages? Lastly, while I was using it, the speaker does not seem to work anymore. I cannot hear any tone for my incoming messages. I am trying to listen to my mp3s but no sound comees out of it. Although I tried to use a headset, I can slightly hear a sound. I brought it to a technician who told me that the problem is with the mouthpiece? he said that the mouthpiece is connected to the speakers. I am beginning to get depressed. Can somebody here tell me if you have experienced the same scenario..... it would be a big comfort to know and hear from the others what they did..... thank you very much and more power to all.... regards

  • awesome fone man!!!

  • I have an XDA EXEC of which the screen is non-responsive to the stylus. I have tried a soft reset, hard reset and a ROM Upgrade; all to no avail. Now the screen is just blinking with a multi-coloured interface. Can someone help because I'm now at my wits end. Thanx

  • Moreover hardware is exactly the same as XDA Exec but OS is faster and more responsive than Exec. If you're considering to buy Exec, I'd rather suggest you go for this, much better!

  • Have this phone after selling my XDA. Imagine anything and you have it in this set. - Wifi, Bluetooth, Infra, 1.3Mp Cam. - Windows 2003, upgradable. - Very good battery time considering the fact that you will be using all the features. - Sound quality, awesome; both headset & speaker. Have it now for more than an year and highly recommended for business users.

  • I'm sure that those who know what a good phone's worth, will agree that the 02 Xda2i is one of the finest phones ever! I'm in IT and a phone freak. This is the only phone that has kept my attention for over a year now. Forget about the horrible posts and bad experiences some people allege about the phone. If people can be irritated about their free God-given looks, then they can be irritated by anything. Even by the world's finest phones - my XDA 2i.

  • i'm wanting 2 buy o2 xdaIIi could someone suggest me that should i buy this pda.what's opinion about its battery?and other drawbacks.thanks.(Mani)

  • Hi there, I bought this IIi from my friend 5 months ago who is complaining about alot of frezzing up problem and this and that. The device is about 1 year old. I found there are tons of junk in device as well as no. of virus. So I do a hard reset and the system are just like new. Being using for the last 5 months, no a single problem I had encounter. I had also installed quite no. of games and other applications. All on my mobile storage (SD card). Everything run like a breeze, very fast. Beat my wife's 6828, my previous IIs and friend's 818 pro flat. The big screen, you will appreciate it when you are watching movie and doing text input.(size does matter) I have no regret at all about buying this device, only regret is that I did not get it earlier. The battery drain fast when playing movie and net surfing (get at least one spare unit). But if you use only the phone it will last you a week. Alaa.. No meaning buying PDA phone if using the phone only, better buy a plain mobile phone. Advice to new user.. 1. Always store your program and data in the SD card. (I'm using 1GB) 2. Use PC to scan your software for virus before install into your device. 3. Don't keep junk. I bet you'll love this device.

  • this xda IIi is amazing invention of the time u should get it as sooon as posible

  • Hey i'm planning to have this XDA so can anyone tell me the drawbacks of this wonder?

  • I used an xda IIi for two years with no serious problems.Suddently, after a hard reset, it installs the proper files, i choose profile (personal/corporate) but when i choose type of network (GPRS) it hangs there, saying something like ("version 1.0..something") in the screen and i have to take out the battery,to be able to open it again! Not even a reset (hard/soft)doesn't help. Any ideas? Thank!

  • yes XDA IIi is cool, but can anyone help how to download a bible freeware on my XDA IIi, i tried downloading but it says the window use is older version than what my xDA used. pls help me how to download, tnx

  • for my opinion..im using this device almost 2 years..within in this 2 yrs i had no major problems..it is normal for those who use pda phone like freezing and hanging..but if you are heavy user you need to change the battery..im often browsing internet using my xda IIi while listening to the music at the same time on my xda..its not too slow compared to my father who using an ipaq rw6828..its good device although its a little too out date like no 3g,no high pixel camera, only come with 65k colors, but the things is it has a lerger screen..n it has no lagging of using 2gb sd card.(i use kingston)..but almost the software that i install i was installed it in sd card to maximised the internal storage for smooth running..and if im not mistaken i was just only doin 3 hard reset..and furthermore my sms storage right now are more than 10k of sms including the items in inbox, sent items, and addtional folder..i love to use this divice..tq

  • for those who want to overcloking your xda IIi can just download the software named xcpuscalar at www.handango.com

  • I love it its sleek, cool, and the perfect phone 4 me. GET one!!

  • Wicked awsome, i want it

  • O2s service simply put sucks; just hope you never have to go there! My wifes phone was out of service for nearly 8 months of her ownership. The first issue happened 18 days after purchase but she had to fight 2+ months for an in warranty repair. They did not believe she had not dropped it in the sea! The second issue took 5 months to not resolve and then they lied to her about its return. Now she has a refund but no We are sorry; just silenced by a non disclosure agreement, a copy of which the O2 representative refused to leave with her after she had signed and got her money. Several emails requesting the same have gone unanswered. O2 is so sick that maybe they will sue her because Im writing this but to hell with them. O2 is a company with no morals and a service attitude to match. Even if their products are good, with a back end like theirs you are best off giving them a wide berth and looking elsewhere for a PDA phone. The product in question was an XDA IIs but it seems from posts to this site that it could have been any of the O2 range. A friend of mine had the same and over a 2 year period needed a new motherboard and 2 new screens, all out of warranty. His cost of ownership was +56% of the original purchase price. Finally he had it stolen and then totally lost his marbles and bought an Atom Exec. That too is giving him grief in warranty but soon it will start costing him again to keep it going. Our local O2 vendor has never had a happy O2 customer and now no longer sells them unless a customer twists his arm and its a special order. O2? NEVER. Weve even banned them from our restaurant; we never want to see one again.

  • Good Day!!! I hope someone can help me out on this... I can enable my WiFi very easily and can connect to my desired network, however, whenever I open my Internet Explorer Browser or my MSN IM there's a pop-up comment saying "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present." Please advise... Thanks

  • Hello shahfi...do you know any link to download the installer ...so tht can download and use the 620Mhz performance???Thx

  • hey there..for heavy used..you can just overclock the processor up to 624mhz instead of 520mhz..you can just install the XCPUscalar..then it can perform well with playing the music, surfing the internet, messaging at the same time..

  • Ray did u try hard reset the phone? or try to format.. think its due to insufficient memory

  • this is a great phone superb large screen fast processor (520mhz) windows mobile 2003 great apps !! connectivity (WIFI,IRDA,BT) bad: battery life ( u need at least 2 batts if u are a serious on the road gamer) sometimes hang (soft reset does wonder ) soft speaker T.T guess what i just fall in love in this 1337 phone :D

  • I have an o2 Xda IIi, having it freeze when i want to go to settings in the start menu??? any solution to this... please let me know. with thanks, Ray.

  • This is a great phone, trust me once you get use to the big screen you can live without it. Yes I know you read lots of problems here, but its only true for those who dont know how to use it correctly, if your a computer wiz you know how it works inside and out. But if you dont know anything about how computers inside and out, then this is not the phone for you, You have to understand its limits, Its like this old saying, dont buy a car unless you know how to drive the car. I've had this phone for 2 years and I love it, I can always handle my work and files on the road. Only thing I dont Like is the Camera. I wish I was 2MP, but a VGA Camera is still good. So my tips for you is, if your a computer wiz, then buy it, if your not, please dont buy this phone, you will only end up hurting it, let the phone find the right kind of owner, so it will be used correctly.^^

  • hello Hwong...I suggest u to get the Xda IIi ..better..cuz nowadays new device are nt tht stable..mayb is smaller but small doesn't means reliable... and Xda IIi dun hav any problem in supporting 1GB SD cuz i am using too.. and everything run smoothly..!! Actually i was thinking to upgrade to Atom....but heard alot of complain from my frens..another thing is..Atom screen too small..hard to see !!!!

  • Yeah O2 Xda IIi users...I agree what u all say...this phone is really great.. already been using it about 1 year...mayb got a little hang someetimes....but also normal.. nowadays smart phone worse!!! for Xda IIi juz press soft reset then everything back to normal....not regret buying it..and i feel tht sometimes my 2nd phone SE K800i hang more than Xda IIi haha...!!!anyway still the same.. I will always support O2 .

  • great phone, i agree with tony that anyone who talk bad about this phone dont really know how to use it.. ive been use it for 6 month.. only 2 times freeze. just close program after use it with running program in memory manager, cause if u just tab 'X' it doesnt really closed. if u not do this, memory will full and it will go slow and going freeze. this problem happened to my friend who used atom but he have sell it before he knows what the main problem is

  • I have a question about this XDA mini s, i have had the phone for about three days and have purchased a 1gb mini sd card for storage. The only thing is, i have put video's on my sd card, and when i use media player for playback, it runs slow with the visual being spikey and stuttery. does anyone have a solution to this problem? thanks in advance, DumWho?

  • Good phone . Easy to use , and more stable than other XDAII phones like: XDAIIs, or Mini . I bought it 8 months ago , and have used it till now . It's very powerful and strong , although it's a litle big . The people who said it bad are the ones who don't know how to use this phone.

  • This PDA is a let down. The problems I get associated with it are the following: - constant freezing - daily need to reboot the machine - inconsitent dial up - very slow performance - inadequate as a phone as people can't really hear you - too big to lug around (blackberry is smaller and lighter). Conclusion: Don't buy it. It is not practical and doesn't really work. What really surprises me is that I would have thought the suppliers would have tested these before letting them loose on the market. I'm just glad its my company's money that has been wasted and not mine. This phone is a gross fraud with regard to its marketing claims.

  • The XDA has some good features like GPRS and GSM so you can connect to the internet wherever you are to check your emails and football scores on Saturday or the Word and Exel Documents. But it's not for normal people, it's for extremely patient ones as it makes you smash it on the wall more then 5 times per day. Completely waste of your money. It freezes every time you open it and start an application i.e photos, documents, emails, messages etc. Imagine you need to make a quick phone call and you have to reset it 2 times before you actually make the call or receive a call. The battery problem is a disaster. I had bought lots of software from the HANDANGO shop but not used them all in the same time and had to reinstall them about 10 times over and over again because of the battery that goes dead and you loose all the programs, saved documents and the settings. This is ridiculous. How have they made this PC Phone like this, you forget to charge your phone and you loose all the data and the software installed in the phone? Can't believe it. I have decided not to install any more stuff on it and just try to sell it on eBay for peanuts. Unless you buy a keybord programe you can't even type a message or email with that silly little stylus in the tiny characters in the phone's keyboard. Takes you 10 minutes to type one email or message. Look for something else on the market before you buy this or any XDA phones as they're all the same.

  • Wonderful stuff if you are using as an office assistant. The 3.5" screen provides better ease while reading emails, surfing the net, seeing the pictures and videos. Wondeful sound on the headphones as well as the loudspeakers. Supports SD card. Very user friendly. The only issue is with the large size which one needs to compromize with for the large size of the screen.

  • My wife and I upgraded a year ago both getting XDAIIi phones. And yes as a pocket PC they seem to do everything you could wish, but as a mobile phone they are a real pain. They often freeze-up on call answering and you have to reboottime after time. And the video starts up so easily on its own. Going from one function to another can cause them to freeze up also. The phone keypad is slow to sluggish. Battery life is limited with us having to charge up every day, and that was from new. Not all bad news though, if you can be patient and not get frustrated with the crashing, that massive screen makes pictures, video, internet and games real fun, and as long as you remember to backup all data to an sd card. But were now going back over to conventional phones. These are too complex if you really want a phone.

  • This phone is absolutely amazing. Besides the battery life, I cannot figure out another reason why not to get this phone. The only question I have is if GPS can be attached to this phone and if so any suggestions? Please mail me at [email protected]

  • any idea whenther IIi support 2gb or greater memory cards ? SD or mini SD ?

  • just bought it. graet device, makes life very organised.all features present.the battery life is the worst. also i am unable to switch it off , as it shows the taskbar with the last time shown and when u switch on from the reset( is it the only way) u will the battery is consumed.

  • I m tryng to go on www.orkut.com from my XDA2i but when it opens the site it's not showing the input windows where i can enter my login and passowrd and get into that site. ? can any 1 help me on this

  • Great phone. got it from KL @ RM1850. One complaint is that the stylus is really loose though, a shake of the phone and the stylus slide right out. There were suggestions from other forums togive the stylus a slight bend. I did this, and it's still loose. Didn't wanna bend it more though.

  • Used this pda phone about 1 1/2 yrs and it work find. Recently just bought a bluetooth gadget and it work for one day. After that it can detect but can't works with it. Not sure what happen. Try with others device and the bluetooth just work find. (Modal: i Tech Clip II mini can pair for two handphone). Need help......

  • hello guys, im having problem with receiving texts on my XDAIIi (with 02) some messages arte just not coming... device is turning itself, but no sms message appears... how to solve this problem ? Thanks

  • forget atom every one using atom now crying for help , the unit is suck , u can't imagine that they really built it from the same place as xda2i , i used to owned one now i sold it and bought myself xda exec it is huge and heavy but i really am happy with it , it is fast , reliable, and great screen resolution

  • yes it does suppourt 1g sd card it even suppourted my mates 4g sd card. i have the xda2i which is very very good (bar the battery life) however the atom is a minaturised version with less specs, if you want a pda deff go for the xda2i but if you prefer a smaller phone rather than a pda go for the atom, hope this helps

  • hello everyone... Does any1 knows wheater the XDA IIi supports 1gb SD or not? XDA IIi or O2 atom is better choise to get? Really hope to hear from some1 experienced both the phone or either 1 of it if you're using them. Thanx alot...

  • Hi Xda IIi users, I try to review one by one for other opinion on this phone. In general, I found that it seem not good for this model. But it's my interest and wish to buy it. What I am worried is its buttery, signle and other function are not functioning properly as someone descripted in the their opion. Can any one who have experience using this help to decide whether to buy or not. We are a rich man, we should not try if someone not recommended. Thanks for your help, Regards,

  • Hello...could you help me regarding the configuration of my GPRS and MMS for my phone coz i need it badly in order to use for my internet browser. Hope you'll reply to this matter immediately. Thank you

  • Does anyone knows about so called "phone pad"? Instead of using the stylus in composing a text messages, you can use your thumb just like the common cell phones... Meaning you can compose text messages using only one hand... Is this true? Does XDA IIi have this features?

  • Hi, please anyone could advise where to download the latest patch xda IIi? My camera quality is worse than any normal camera phone. please email me at [email protected]. Many thanks in advance.

  • Just got my O2 XDA IIi and guest what its great.. everything run smoothly .. anyone can help me is there anyway i can enable GPS on my XDA..

  • Hi guys, I've been using O2xdaIIi for 2 months. The major problem is its poor signal reception of telecommunication network. My friend who is using the same telecommunication service with a normal handphone has a better signal than mine. This problem occurs even in city area. Can somebody, especially the experts, tell me is something can be done to overcome this problem? Tq

  • Hi,I've been using 2i for six months and freezing and hang ups is so frequent that i think it is normal for the device. But one must admit that web browsing is fantastic on it.Though IE doesnt offer full functionality.I have net front 3.2v which is a better browser especially for email but i still cannot send video clip as an attachment. The camera is a passe and i wont recommend using it in dim light.the speaker phone surely needs much improvement. As a PDA it works great.Remember thats the reason you bought it.As a phone it doesnt offer anything extra than plain mobiles.Just dont expect laptop or desktop capability from it.If you wisely install third party softwares on it it will reward you.Over all seven out of ten.

  • Hi people. I juz got got my xdaIIi last week after the distributors in KL dropped the price to only RM1888. I must say dat so far it's alright but I juz pray dat it doesnt turn out like my xdaIIs which hung almost every day. Anyway, I dont there's not much difference in WM 2003 & WM2005 other than the fact dat WM2005 doesnt delete all ur data when the battery juz dies off. Bottomline is, I love my xdaIIi more than my blackberry 7290

  • mines doing just fine...think its better and much more stabil then the other newer models..ive seen the new xda2 black crashing like nuts..and mine just there laughing at them...mine has not crashed once...good phone...old but good...just proves it doesnt have to be new to be a good phone

  • I got one of these (am writing this on it right now, actually) and though it seems to work ok, it is IMPOSSIBLE to download working software on to the damm thing!! every website I tried, it downloaded, and... "not a valid program". my mate has a Pda, same OS, hardware, etc. with no problems. And finally, the bluetooth is insanely complicated and tends to not recognise other devices (even other Pda's!!!). I'm flogging it and getting a laptop...

  • I have develop a GPS tracking software in O2 Xda IIi. I have place the Maps in SanDisk Ultra II 1GB SD card (Jpg). Now I am facing the problem of sometimes the O2 will hang when I want to load the map. (2500 jpg files in each folders).Actually the map is exist in the SD card, just that it hangs when cant read from the card. The weird thing is the same application can work in O2 Xda II and O2 Xda Mini. I suspect is the Xda IIi OS problem or maybe is the O2 cannot read from the SanDIsk card. Once the O2 hang, the application will keep on hang even after soft reset, it should cannot find the map where actually the map is exist in the SD card.Any comments will me appreciated.thanks.

  • i have had my xda2i for 12 months. i have had the pda in my pocket minus protective case, when i took it out of my pocket the screen was cracked, it is very fragile.i am running microsoft voice command on it and it is awesome make calls bring up appointments and play music by asking for it. i also run tom tom navigator witch works a teat.the xda2i os does'nt like to run many apps at the same time so use the task manager in tools to close programmes running in the background.after breaking my screen i now carry mine in a clear plastic hardcase, (the metal ones reduce reception) the case makes it much more bulky so an integrated flip hardscreen would have been better.

  • I should add to my previous message that I have removed the O2 Active as advised by O2 but it's as bad as ever. Today I tried another soft reset when it froze as usual and it hard rest and lost all my data and settings. I do not recommend this to anyone.

  • I upgraded from an O2 XDA II in February 2006, because I wanted the wi-fi, the better camera and the higher spec processor and memory. It was a mistake and I am trying now to get my money back. It has been one long nightmare, although it has been replaced once by O2. I have spent literally hours on the phone to O2 trying to resolve one problem after another. It has had to be reset at least once every day. Tonight I have lost all my settings and data. This is a terrible product - buy something else. I don't know why - the XDA II was fine.

  • hello ppl i hav xda 2 i want to know how to reset the software both hard and soft plz help me i m facing probs with my cell plz reply on my email address [email protected] i will be most thankful to u ppl if u help me out an o2 fan

  • I NEED HELP !!! All my phone-calls on my new 9 month old XDA2i, just cut off in 30 to 40 seconds.I have done Soft-Resets & Hard-Resets. All my conversations are cut in half and i have to call people back almost 5 times to complete a conversation, sometimes when i am peaking with important clients, its so embarrassing that it has also become bad for business when the other party thinks you are cutting off the line abruptly. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN ? HOW DO I SOLVE ??

  • I have O2 XDA IIi and today this was working OK in the morning and in the afternoon all of a sudden, I do not get any caller ID displayed. Can you please let me know how to fix this? Can you please let me know how to get to the call settings? Thank you

  • I need help people! I want to buy one of these devices. However I do not know wether this device would work in the US. If it does, what cellular network would it be able to use?

  • hello..i just wanna some opinion about xda IIi..actually i am using this pda for almost 8 months..i think i want to upgrade the os from the original windows mobile 2003 se to windows mobile 5..the question is, is it ok if i changed it..some people told me it is not suitable and also not stable. it is true..

  • i have a 02 xda2i model .but i need codecs to play the movies

  • My XDA IIi is hung after i disconnected the mobile web connection and switched to the o2 connection. The IE page froze first and then the whole thing went blank. I have done soft resets many times, to no avail. Even hard reset doesnt seem to work. I didnt drop it anywhere. Any idea how to bring it back to life. I do love it when its well and kicking.

  • Hi guys. Well what can i say about this PDA. It is gr8 !!!!!! This is my first PDA and im lovin it. it doesnt hang like other pda's do. its very stable. i guess it would be more fast if i could remove the o2 logo from the status bar. if anyone knows how to remove it pls e-mail me the procedure. thanx. Cheers!!!!!!!

  • Now had my XDA 2i for 3 months. Steep learning curve, and only one freeze. Use it very heavily as a phone/pda/GPS (with Tom Tom s/w) and very happy to relate that all my colleagues will now be having them too - I was the "tester" since I have a (well-earned) reputation of being able to "break" any s/w or system. HTC/O2, you sure got it right!

  • I have just changed over to the Utility Warehouse SIM which gives me 8 per month line rental with NO contract, and mobile calls to other networks at .08p per minute. Incredibly cheap in comparison to Orange. The URL is as follows: Just click on 'SIGN UP' and then the mobile at the top of the screen and look at the comparison chart. You will be amaized as I was. It is run on the T-Mobile backbone so the coverage is just as good!

  • I lost the ability to activesync! My PC and phone recognise each other, but the phone keeps "dropping" the link after being authenticated. Any suggestions short of doing a hard reset?

  • can some body please suggest me how to choose the corporate or personal settings.i have already hardresetted the phone but it never asks for such an option.kindly suggest at the earliest

  • goin to get oranges version of this phone as i think features are great all in tip top phone

  • This is the best phone I have had in a long time. Any questions about getting MP3's or videos on the device should look at the sync option that is given with windows media 10. Initially I had a few problems as it was a new phone, now it has become my best friend. Using the calander to send invites to the office, enables me to get responses to queries to data that I have received as soon as I reach the office (exactly the same function that is available from a PC). This is one instance that endears the phone to me. Solutions from O2 about the O2 interface supply the following information: During the initial set up of the device users should choose option corporate mode and enter code 0506 this will disable the O2 interface although still running in the background, in doing so the device will have fewer crashes and freeze less often. A keypad option is not present on the device and I suppose if you wanted on you would not have chosen this model; the XDA2s would have been your choice nonetheless, options abound from bluetooth keyboards to fullscreen keyboards (my favourite) for the device and so I happily tap away. This phone does not only work for me, it enables me to work alongside my colleagues when away from the office; that is the reason why I chose this phone. O2 XDA2i in a class of it's own.

  • The feature is nice but its just a PDA not a PC..

  • I am rather disappointed with this. It has a very short battery life, keeps telling me that the "backup battery needs charging" and refer to the manual but there is nothing on the manual showing how to charge the backup battery and when I use the cradle to charge both batteries it does the job but it seems that the PDA uses the Back battery first! So I get the same message while the main battery is still well charged. I can't understand why it uses the backup battery when the main battery is still charged up! Can anyone help? Thanks Tony

  • I have had my XDAIIi for a couple of months, and yes it does lock up (due to the O2 Active software no doubt), but I would still recommend this to anyone. It has run all the software I have installed on it, it looks good, the camera is OK etc. Don't be scared out of buying one of these. If all else fails a hard reset (you lose your data) cures everything, but it shouldn't come to that. A soft reset takes only 30 seconds and cures most issues. Good PDA, good phone, good all-rounder. Oh, but buy a case for it, you don't want to drop this one down the stairs!

  • I too have suffered with the O2 XDA IIi locking up on numerous occasions, so got annoyed with it and decided to moan at O2, their tech dept semed quite up-to-sped with the beast and it's problems. I was advised that the lock-ups we in the main due to O2 Active and the way to go is run the m/c without it.So I went for it. Hard reset (off button and soft reset button together) WARNING - THIS WILL ERASE YR DATA. Re-install everything BUT when yr asked if you want corporate or Personal setup choose corporate. You'll have to input all GPS/MMS settings yourself (that's another story!) but 7 days later and no lock-ups!! Any tips or a novice user (better filemanager prog) or anything interesting would b appreciated. C.

  • I have had my o2i now for about 9 months and I love it . Yes it freezes ! but you know its going to and all you do is a warm reset and its all ok . Its not as good as my old Psion but it small and does other things . Think about what you have in your hand ! its a 520mhz computer a phone and more. My only bug is that o2 have not installed all of the bluetooth stack .I would like to surf when away from the office but this means 2.35 a megabite ( which is probably 2 or 3 mins of time !!!!) I brought a small blue tooth modem to plug in to a wall socket and connect to my isp at 1p /min but the section of the Blue tooth stack needed is missing and the two , whilst they bond , will not talk !!! infuriating , any help would be a ppreciated . Regards Duncan

  • Hi, yea I've got the same problem as everyone else, phone hanging, freezing continually resetting to try and rectify. what is the solution (apart from trashing it). how do I remove the o2 active? I am told this will cure the problem. thanks. Eric

  • im planning to buy xda2 i .. but as what ive observe in reviews and forum i think many xda2i users complaining about hagging, phone shutdown, reset, etc but i think it depends how the users handle it.. dont compare PDA to PC ... minimize domwloading and installing programs which is not very usefull and important and i think some people comment here in forum is a LIE! i think they are one of OTHER PDA and Phone BRANDs FANATIC! they juz post bad comments here so that people will not BUY O2 brands especially o2 XDA2 i because of what the Bad comments they post!! thnx

  • try to connect to a secured network using wi-fi. Just make sure you have all day free.

  • i havent recieved mine yet but i hope its not a crappy thing. I'm on contract so i presume i can change it if i am unhappy with it. I'll let you all know. cheers Richard

  • Don't believe them. This is such a powerfull toy. You use it, You like it.

  • Haven't even received mine yet, but bit nervous now after reading all your comments. If they are so crap, why are they fetching such good money? Why are they in such demand?

  • my o2 xda IIi keeps freezing, i cannot turn if off at all. need help plz. i have just bought it a week ago amir

  • i want much isfos ,about the o2 xda... i am a programer of java...

  • Terry the same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. It dropped from my bed onto the carpet from a very short height and cracked. O2 took it and even though I'm insured and it's in warrenty said it would cost me 135 to fix. I'm insured though and o2 insure are now going to pick up my broken phone and deliver a new one.

  • I bought abv phone from my friend who lost application CD which includes ZIP and other softwares.. I would appreciate if anybody can advise me from where I can have that CD.. Specially I need ZIP utility as I am not able to unzip files on my phone... one more thing, i downloaded some softwares but my pocket pc says that the files are not suported by mobile, files were .exe pls also advise me how to run 3gp files on above phone.. thanks in advance for assistance

  • People please use your initiative when purchasing this PDA

  • can anyone help me what site to download games and software.

  • Nice phone err PDA. As a phone it's very bulky but does everything that it says on the tin. As a PDA it works very well and runs most applications well. The problem is using in both modes! I use Tom Tom Navigator 5 with a Tom Tom Bluetooth receiver and it locks up every hour or so. This happens even if the telephone functionality is off. Tom Tom support told me to switch off the phone when it's used as in navigation mode, very useful if your expecting a call don't you think. I'm now left with a phone/pda combination that doesn't function as it should. Oh and I forgot to mention that it was O2 that reccomended the combination and TomTom's website say that it's compatible. Is it just me or is anyone else experiencing these problems?

  • I accidentally dropped it (from the height of my knee) for the first time and the LCD touch screen cracked (that's with casing on - useless casing, poorly built). O2 want to change the whole screen instead only the touch screen layer (wonder why??). The cost is GBP 160 (the reason!!). So I don't recommend this phone to anybody.

  • Had mine about 6 months and have no problems at all - bluetooth, wifi, phone, gps navigation all work superb. Only thing I get angry about is that O2 asia still haven't sorted out a blackberry upgrade like in the UK.. everyone was expecting this upgrade in the Spring!

  • why cant you put mp3s onto xda 2i!!why can i only listen to them on the memory card!!really sucks that does!

  • I had such an unhappy experience with this phone that I told myself no more O2.

  • WORST PDA !!!!! i've ever seen

  • i think this is a wonderful device apart from the fact that it the lcd screen gets a bubble like watery liquid in it every so often which i think could be rain which effects the wireless signal also.

  • Waste of money. After a month im back with my old phone and laptops.Always freeze, slow and stops responding.I wish i can get my money back.

  • Please help i can sycronise jpegs midis etc to my phone but no videos or mp3!really annoying please help me some mail me or post here thankz!!!!

  • Hi Everyone, I would like to give my opinion for those who think of buying an XDA 2i in the future. Before buying this equipment you have to ask yourself... Do I need a Phone or a PDA??? Having this features in one unit will definitely incounter a little bit of problem. Dont get me wrong but I also owned the XDA 2i for almost six months now, it freezes twice since then. My simple advise: Do not push the PDA phone to the maximum limit thingking that it has the same function and capabilities as the regular PC. Thanks

  • Hi. I am planning to buy an o2 xda2i. well i just wanted to know wht is the latest software version of this pda. pls reply soon. Rishab.

  • I purchased an XDA IIi on the 15th of Sept - 9 days later I was on phone number 2. The problems with phone No.1 were manyfold, hangin, loss of signal, no communication with the "O2 Blue" & a "Motorola HS" series Bluetooth headsets. Same problem - beep in the hearpeice, ringing sound in the earpeice, but nothing else. The team at O2 told me to download the latest software and re load it - the software details were exactly the same as before - the phone was already running the latest software! The O2 shop agreed to change the phone. Phone number 2 had me climbing the walls, constantly resetting itself for a whole evening - with the climax being not able to turn the damn thing on for over 6 hours - not even with having the battery out for a while - when it did come to life none of my info was left in it. As one of the earlier guys said - if you need good reliable communications, this is not the phone you need. My latest trip to the phone shop has now secured me a Nokia 9500, not in the same class I suppose, but my 9210 saw me through hell and high water even after it has been dropped a few times. Good luck to anybody that has got one that is working right - All the best people....

  • Hi considering buying one of these? re: the lock ups have you tried the xda2s fix of removing the O2 from the startup folder? Go onto the XDA2s reviews and check it out it may solve your problems. Buying one of these from O2 online at 99 its a steal and with a 45 BT GPS unit its Sat Nav heaven. Only Gripe I have is the 40p charge to call other mobiles... Talk about rip off its disgusting. O2 shame on you, I'll be taking that up with the ombudsman. I think its provider discrimination.

  • Ohhh, and there's another thing. The guy in the O2 shop suggested downloading the latest software upgrade from the XDA site under the O2 site. Yeah I di the download, installed the first of the 2 parts as instructed, and the second part would not install at all. It said there was no Sync connection (having just done the 1st one Sync'd. So with half an upgrade, I had no choice but to do a complete reset of the entire device, and reinstall and set up everything. Result? Everything lost and start from scratch. hey..... it gets better. Nick

  • Well. I am so glad there are people out there who actually like this thing. I have had mine for a month now, and it has to be the most unreliable piece of kit I have ever purchased. I go to a meeting and all I do is set the ringer to vibrate only, then I go to use the phone later and it has hung. 3 software resets before I can make a call AND hear the person at the other end. This is regular. Spurious hanging of the phone system. And have you ever tried to use this with a Jabra BT250v Bluetooth? I travel a whole lot and HAVE to have reliable communication on the move. Not now!!! The combination of ther Jabra and the XDA renders receiving a phone call in the car as playing Russian Roulette. It may work, cos the last call did. Then again, it probably wont. You get the bleep in your ear, and even the ring tone on an incoming call, but try answering it and I get silence most of the time. So, we soft reset the phone, we turn the Jabra on and off a few times, and it all comes back to life....... until the next call. I am about to holler at O2 AND Jabra, who will no doubt blame each other and leave me, the customer, with an item that does not conform to the UK Sale of Goods Act, in that it is NOT fot for the purpose it is sold. Yeah, you guessed. I am angry with this piece of work.

  • Just wanna know whether this O2 XdaIIi is worth it. U know.....does it have problems such as Blue tooth problem or any firmware problem???

  • just got the phone 2 days ago. simply amazing phone hasn't hang at all so far from using. was wondering if anybody knows how to set a song for incoming text message? i set a tone for the incoming text message. however although i've read the message the tone still keeps playing. can any1 advise on how to stop it after reading your incoming text message

  • i just bought o2 xda IIi and would appreciate if somebody can guide me about running live audio flies from websites on pocket pc. i tried to run audio files on some websites but got error that plugin for browser is not installed.. pls guide me from where i can have it and how can i proceed further.. thanx

  • the xda11i is worth it if you want a mean pocket pc it has so many advanteges the fact that you can use almost any software just download it from pc to pocket pc ta da

  • Hi people. Was wonderin which O2 to buy. Would you suggest going in for the mini as it is a bit cheaper or the price to pay for the XDAIIi over the mini is worth it???? Please advise ASAP.

  • Would u tell me the Website for free software convert to play in Windows Media Player in Xda2i PocketPC

  • I have had the phone about 3 weeks and i think the phone is amazing, apart from the battery life which gets drained by power hungry aplications, but if your good at tweeking settings you can easily minimise this. I use my home 2mb broadband on my xda2i via wifi this is amazing it browses the same full internet as my pc, even flash websites (as long as you have installed flash which you can get from the macromedia website). when i get paid im gonna get a bluetooth gps adaptor and get myself tom tom that is also something else that this phone is good for, because if you really think about it the phone part of the xda is secondary first of all the xda is a pocket pc, if you were to get the same spec pocket pc but without the inbuilt phone it would cost you alot more. were talking over 300 pounds maybe even over 400. If you were smart i would ignore most of the bad comments being posted as the good far surpresses the bad things in this phone (pocket pc).

  • hey guys i am thinking of getting a new pda i dnt know which one i think teh XDA IIi would be good but i am not sure can anyone else suggest a better PDA plzz plzz plzz thnx xxx

  • I agree with comments that the 02 XDA 2 is a disaster. Me and my wife both have the phone XDA 2s and it freezes very often. We have had the phone replaced 4 times and O2 tech help tell us that they have not had any problems which is a lie from what is being posted on the forum. I am fed up with the phone but o2 will not cancel the contract which is one month old.

  • AWESOME!! no other word can describe this creation!iv had mine for a few months now and its unreal some of the stuff that can be done with this is incredible it even recognises my hand writing (worst in the world) with no problems.this is a must have phone/computerthe wi-fi is kwl (100meg file in bout 3mins)

  • hi guys .i just traded off my xda mini.i am bit confused as to which pocket pc i should go for.it should be future proof as well as the latest.currently iam zeroing on the o2 xda 2i.kindly share u r views urgently.how would be nokia 9500.plz reply fast

  • hey guys... howz the cam?? and for the stylus input.. does it have handwriting recognition... and howz the mp3 playback on headphones.. and can u use mp3 as tones??

  • Is there anyway to remove the country-code brackets from appearing in local call? If I were to call or receive call locally, my CallerID from caller (1234567) will appear as (123)456-77 on my screen. It had been an eye-sore since I own a XDA IIi for one week.

  • my 2 week old xda2i-freezes when I accept a incoming call while already speaking on a call,(call waiting). The Battery which must show about 10.3 hrs on full charge, has suddenly started showing only 5.2 hrs after I did a "hard-reset" few days back, and when i emailed the O2 South East Asia technical support, they asked me to send the device to India for checking, with no explanation or sollution on email. If this is all the O2 Techinical experts know, those sending in the "great reviews" are only counting their days when they will be in my position.I have been using Palm PDA's for last 4 years, I know hell of a lot about PDA's...I will never advise you to have a phone and PDA together.ITS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU CAN EVER TAKE,in all my years of using a mobile phone, not 1 mobile phone ever hung up on me. This xda2i has hung up on me while I drive home and need to make urgent calls, then embarrassingly it froze at a party while some frnds were looking at it.HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE STORY OF "GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE" ?- Buying a xda is like that, you only want one cause you dont have one, but when you have one, with all the restarts, lack of technical help online etc...the fun only lasts 14 days. "God" I miss my nokia 6230.

  • Hi - I've had the XDA 2i for a while on O2, excellent phone, send emails easily, connect to wifi hotspots with ease, play music, films, videos, pics easily. Stylus is easy to use, transcriber works well, especially in a moving car etc, quick to use, quick to type, docking station good, quick charges - if you want to watch films on the go, you can easily cram 4 or 5 encoded films on a 1 gig sd card (slots in the top) and watch constantly for hours! An phone/pda... go buy it!

  • The XDA2i Sync-Cradle is perhaps the worst thing to come out of China. The connecting sync-socket in the cradle is so unstable.Sometimes you have to shake it and readust it that it stands half way unplugged until the PC recognises that there is a PDA on the cradle. How on earth does O2 maintain such a low standard of accesories of primary importance - I DONT UNDERSTAND !!!

  • Hi guys, I am considering buying this XDA IIi, i just want to know if this i can use the Internet via my wireless network? thank alot guys

  • can you send & recieve fax's like nokia 9500 on a xda 2i ?

  • MP3's cant be used as ringtones. WMA files can be used.

  • Had this for 4 months and am very impressed. Downloaded a MP3 player, Smartmovie, PocketMgeg, Unzip and my phone works fine. No problems at all!!!

  • B'ware 4 all the frills mentioned, using a phone with a stylus can be a Real Pain!!!

  • Sure this phone is the best on the planet right now. BUT ,be patient till the new microsoft windows mobile version 5 come out and installed on the mobile ok!! because when the battery depleted , , u will not lose ur data(sounds cool huh ?), cause I hate when I have to reinstall my software and also if u updates the system (such as the ROM,etc) and then u restore ur data that has previous ROM it will switch back to the old ROM, not the new one that u just installed.(thats annoying and we have to reinstall the new ROM again which take more than 30 minutes damn slow). for future I hope that the new edition will make better long life batteries ( talk time at least 5-6 hours or more). if u need any question just contacy my email the new windows mobil 5 has many cool features 3G support ,etc see at microsoft.com

  • Look people, The people that are saying that the xdaIIi is problems and that! Dont Beleave THEM! Its their falut if something goes wrong and then they post it here for no reason! I have read a lot of reviews and forus around, and I see that THIS forum is the only 1 that just post PROBLEMS! and make people not BUY it! So people! Go on Google and type xda reviews and forums and u will see that THIS phone RULES! It has nothing WRONG with it, Only if u over limit its POWERS! it will go wrong!(of COURSE), What do u expect from it!! its a mini Thing! (laptop)! its not a PC!!

  • bit buggy, mp3 ringtones and e-mail gprs work.

  • Is it just me or is everybody having a lot of problems with the XDAIIi locking up? I'm not using any unusual applications. It's a real pain because it disables the phone. Anyone got any ideas?

  • I just bought my 2i 3 weeks ago. This is my 1st pda phone. This unit seems to hang easily and there's some problem with the headset bluetooth. Whenever you received a missed call, the headset bluetooth will disconnect automatically and will only reconnect after the phone rang for 3 to 4 seconds for the second call received. Is there anyone can tell me is o2 plus operate smoothly with xda2i

  • it,s a good one for me

  • Hi Everyone, Can I use the GRPS setting to browse in the internet and also to send and receive my email? Thanks

  • Hello to All, I just bought an XDA2i and notice that the battery display fully charged that shows only 4 hours. According to the manual if you're using the PDA it's 15hours more or less and TALK time is 3-4 hours. Is any can tell me if there's any problem with my new battery or any set up that I need to do? Need Help.....

  • In my opinion, this is a PDA with the phone feature. There are pros and cons. I've got mine for 3 days and I've probably loaded some software(still to work out what) that practacally kill the phone feature because when ever the PDA side of the device makes a sound, ring, click, changing volumes, I can no longer here anything when I am in a call, non does the other end hears me. O2 just exchange the unit because it was pretty much DOA. The Unit is great, but don't download the o2 Plus software. It just slows the PDA down to a halt. Keep the today screen to the basic and everything should be fine. I think there is some issues with the Blue Tooth, but haven't exactly worked out what it is. The volume control slider is loose... (that goes for both faulty and replacement unit). And the replacement unit was tighter when I got it out of the box, but quickly became loose.. (about a week or so) I've loaded sjphone (voIP) software on it and hope to use it with my wifi, (the connection was choppy, and yes, I've have tried the same program using my HP IPAQ 4150 and ran fine). Now, I must admit, that before my HP IPAQ PockPC was not used that often cause I really did not like the idea of having a phone and a pda in my pocket all the time. but because the O2 XDA IIi has both features, I find it much more convient. My 2 cent... if you don't need wifi, go for the XDA2 Mini cause it is much more smaller. But if you are like me and want to have the latest and greatest and all the wizband.... then this unit is worth a look. To be honest, it all really depends on the software you load on the unit to make it slow. I will give it a thumbs up even if I had initial issues with it. Oh, like all Pocket Pc.. you really have to charge it all the time if you like to turn it on and off and use it all the time. The battery does run out quickly, so invest in a sync cable for your work pc so you can charge it while you are in the office. Also invest in a car adaptor so you can charge it while you are driving. Don't take me wrong, the phone does last you a few days on standby! talk time varies between 1 to 3 hours... why, because I have the screen on bright when I first got it... so to save on battery life.... reduce the brightless and also to black out the screen after a minute of inactivites.. turn the wifi feature of if you don't need it. Bluetooth is fine.... but if you don't need the use if it at all, turn it off.

  • im embarassed to ask this but in the specs it doesnt say it plays mp3 ringtones.. can we do that? i am planning to buy one.. pls help me out. thanks.

  • Hi Everyone, I'm interested of buying a PDA phone in a week time but getting a hard time to decide w/c one. Some one told me that XDA IIi is better that I-Mate PDA2 but is it the same manufacturer? Can somebody explain to me the the advantage and dis-advantage of the two units. It will be highly appreciated if anyone can explain. Thanks

  • i actually have some stupid questions that i feel that i have to ask even after being embarassed.. i'm not actually a very techon-savy person but with this 02 xda ii pocket pc i was excited to become one. i'm not just so sure of how to properly turn it off in such a way that it will not consume much of its power. i tried to hold/long press power button when it went all black but still it consumed the same power. & is it really normal that i'll have to chage everyday,as in daily even with a minimal use such as sending and receiving sms only, not more on calls or media player?& my biggest problem is that, the last time that i tried to synchronize it with my pc at home the 'file manager' on the start/program was lost,& there was "cannot find MMReg.." error everytime i turn it on.HELP pls email me.thank u soooo much!!!

  • Can somebody tell me what is the price for the O2 XDAIIi in London UK (sim free) and O2XDAII ?

  • GPRS, well .... why is it so damn expensive???????????? it is so unrealistic , data transfer is bigger all the time, is it just me , or is everyone peeed off about this?????????

  • i have had my xda11 for a year now ,it just keeps getting better with the beta player and tomb raider game (exact the same as the real thing, exact) + a 1 gig mem card , it all i ever needed..

  • A website I regularly used succesfully with an XDA11 is causing my XDA11i problems. When accessing part of the site which is password protected, I get kicked out of the browser altogether. I wonder if it's something to do with the SE version of Windows mobile 2003? The 11i has more memory, faster processor but cannot handle a site which the XDA11 handled with ease - any ideas?

  • Further to my previous comments about O2 XDA IIi. Pls do not forget to install an anti virus on your O2 XDA IIi. It helps to protect your O2 XDA IIi from malicious viruses when you surf the net or receives emails via your O2 XDA IIi. It is better safe than sorry... This is Harris from Singapore

  • Me and my newly bought O2 XDA IIi has become an instant buddy. It helps me alot in organising my hectic daily schedules. I would like to share this with those who already owns O2 XDA IIi and those who are with intention to own one. Be extra patience your O2 XDA IIi. Its character is similar to your desktop and your notebook. Pocket PC is still a PC irregardless its sizes. If you overly pushed it beyonce its performance capabilities, it will hang or slowed down and thus will make you frusrated. The users actually have to be well educated when come to use these gadgets. Learn more about its functionality and capabilities before you use it beyonce its limit. Consider its limited ROM space and its speed. Of course if the user expect this tiny gadget to perform like a super computer then its the users' mistakes. A 1.0 litre car cannot run as powerful as a Formula 1 racing car. I'm still trying to get use to its performance capabilities and did expected too much out of this little guy

  • I am from Singapore. So far using the phone for a week have been a headache. The phone sometime just hang without me knowing. Maybe I use the phone and SMS alot. Maybe it help to make me more organise but i think I will prefer a phone and a PDA. Maybe it wun hang up so often that I really become quite sick and tired of it.

  • plz tell me when is O2 MDA IV is coming if u hav the photo plz mail it 2 me

  • if u are not bothered by having to use the stylus for sms/email or data entry then a IIi would be fine (as pointed out it has upgraded hardware)

  • Sam Are you sure that this is not an MS Pocket PC 2SE issue? I am not sure that MS Pcoket PC 2SE can do it.

  • O2 IIs or IIi: IIi has faster processor (520 MHz v 400 MHz) and 1.2 Meg camera. While IIs has QWERTY sliding thumpboard and only 03 Meg camera. The IIi has more available memory 59Mb v 44Mb. Both use MS PockPC 2SE and are within AUS$200 in Australia of each other. Try for more info' So do you need a keyboard or more memory, beter camera and faster processor? Or chould you wait for the O2 MDA IV?

  • plz tell which phone is worth buying O2 XDA IIi or O2 XDA IIs

  • Hi Ive recently moved to an XDA11i and like others the first unit i got kept locking up . Back to the o2 shop ( I live in london England ) and they do an immediate change . To date I am very happy but am stuck on a minor problem . I can surf the web via wifi or GPRS , but want to get my unit to talk to a blue tooth moddem plugged into a wall phone socket to get the 1p per minute rate . Is this possible ? ive got the modem ( zoom 4300a) but to date the 11i only picks up the fact that it can be used as a serial modem , not that it can talk via blue tooth . Zoom think that o2 may have down graded the op system so that it wont work in this configuration ? and therre for force you to surf via their expensive account ? Duncan

  • Can Some one tell me which is better between O2 XDA IIs and O2 XDA IIi? Which is newer between them?

  • i think the O2 XDA IIi is suitable for the white collar, becaauce can save many unnessary works and improve their work performance. the design is quite solid and if can modify smaller than before, that will be great. if can add the 3G function will eb more perfect.

  • I upgraded from the XDA2 and got the XDA2i. Don't waste your time with the XDA2i. The XDA2i has bluetooth problems and the screen keeps locking up especially when using TOM TOM Navigator (this is a known problem to O2) O2 replaced the XDA2i with an XDA2s but I can't see that it's that much better than the original XDA2 though at least TOM TOM Navigator works better but it was fine in the original XDA2 I had. There is more flash memory etc but having used them both I really didn't notice any real difference. Memory space is increased but I have a storage card anyway. Slide out quert keyboard? what's that all about are the onscreen keyboard and leter recogniser not enough?? For the price difference and the fact that the features and speed aren't that much different (Except the camera viewer is garbage compared to the XDA2 which shows a full screen view of what you are taking pics of, the XDA2s shows about a third of what the XDA2 and XDA2i shows). For me I will be sending it back and just getting a newer XDA2

  • I have an xda11i and loaded Tom Tom 4.0.0.1 using a clip on GPS reciever from Fortuna with access via bluetooth, I have been back and forth with 02 and TOM TOM who are saying that v 5 is the only version that will be compatiable with an Xda 11i ?? however I have had the nav software work once ?? but all I now get is GPS disabled ?? any ideas please

  • I have tried since 3 days to sync my new XDAIII with a Mac. No luck. Any advice?

  • Hi there, i bought this phone and i wonder how to set the ring tone using Mp3 songs that i have downloaded, also the sms alert , can it be changed to a mp3 song too? Thks for ans my queries.

  • I am also intrested in finding out about any new releases

  • Amazing phone, but costly. Has helped me organise my life with it's ease to sync with computer and remind me of my schedule. I believe that the comment regarding the phone as disappointing, and the aqusation that it keeps crashign can only be down to the user's fault, as I've had mine much longer than three days and it's running fine.

  • Initially the O2 XDA IIi looks like a fantastic phone with loads of features and great reliability. I am sad to report otherwise. I have had this phone for three days now and it has done nothing but freeze and crash. It will now no longer turn on. Windows Mobile wasn't really designed around mobile phones - it was introduced for PDAs only. The novelty has now worn off and i'm really angry that the handset is of such poor quality.

  • I noticed that someone was talking about the imminent arrival of xda111. Does anybody have any details of timing for launch in the UK. I was just about to purchase a xda11i. With my thanks, Malcolm

  • Is this phone available anywhere in US ?

  • I traded in my o2 XdaIIS for this phone 3 days ago,and soon realised what a big mistake I had made! To begin with, it apears as if the o2i were made at a very tight budget. The volume control key as compared to the o2s is very loose and vobbly, which gives it a very unsure feeling when increasing or decreasing the volume during a call.Secondly, the hole for the camera button seems to be handcut, and definitely not well designed. It is unpolished, rough and a total turn off. Upon speaking with o2 India, I was told that bcos that part of the pda is made of aluminium, its supposed to look like that...!!Third, although the o2i is equipped with a faster processor (516mhz as compared to the 400mhz of the o2s), there is very little, or no difference in the time taken in navigating the menu, or multitasking. However, what is apparent is that becasue of the faster cpu, the battery stand by time is now much lower. At best, I got a talktime of 1.5 hours as compared to the 2-2.5 hours of the o2s.On the positive side, the o2i is lighter and sleeker than the o2s. Also the 1.3 megapixel camera is a nice change.Because of the screen size however, the picture viewed on the display is grainy, and not as clear as the picture taken from a Nokia 7710 or Nokia 9500 even though they have lesser resolution cameras. Transerfing the picture on the computer shows that although the o2i perhaps has the best camera in pda's, its still not at par with a nokia 3230, or Motorola A780. Although the specifications of this pda look great on paper,my advice to anybody thinking of buying this device would be to first evaluate its pro's and con's as compared to the o2s and mini, and then decide.

  • Pls could u tell me the approx cost of the following phones in Dubai. O2 xda IIs Imate PDA2K Hp Ipaq 6315 O2 x2 & o2 x3

I bought it as a present for someone in West Africa, O2 has assured me that it will work over there, since I bought it on a handset basis only, however I am sceptical, do you have an opibnion on this or tip that I can use to try it out before I give it as a present.

  • this is perfect combination between XDA mini and XDA IIs, better performance but the size is too big, it will be better if the same size as mini.

  • it also only 100mm long so should be smaller than o2 xda2 mini!!!!! very compact

  • Right now, in this "class" the XDA IIs or the HTC Blue Angel are the #1 SmartPhones. In the "mini" class it's the HTC Magician line of phones, ie. the O2 XDA II mini. The new upcoming O2 XDA IIi (HTC Alpine) is the same as the XDA II but with 520Mhz CPU, 1.3MP camera, Quad Band GSM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. Release date mid summer.

  • It's a "SmartPhone", therefore a computer, so with the proper software, you can do anything with it. Caller ID's, Custom ringtones, emulation, etc...

  • XDAII is ok,but only afew ringtones we can notified in incoming sms & no caller group feature in incoming call (i mean only 1 kind of ringtones). Is there anything more we can do in XDAIIi?

  • ___________________________________________ if this phone have o2 xda mini size.. then i would be best.... ______________________________________________________ see xda mini
