Simply, your battery has out of date and need a new one to replace :). Usually, batty will be get more quickly dry after 2 years and it need to be replace.

it does have video calling you dnt have the settings thats all if its running slow that means u should close ur apps that u not using. and what do u then expect from a hand held pc? it only has a 400mhz processor

i have this phone and my battery gets used up so quickly. i tried changing batteries but no change. after 5 minutes call and 2 sms, my battery is down to 1 bar. i have the wifi off all the time as well as bluetooth. my brightness is on low. can anyone suggest anything please?

This phone is designed poorly. If you take it out from your pocket, the slider opens a little bit. That means, you have to close the slider everytime, you take the phone out.. and believe me its annoying.

Dont get this phone. For one it weighs a tonne. Secondly the phone is made of plastic. I mean real cheap plastic. Camera is rubbish. No video calling available on this phone so i dont understand why they have included a camera on the front. Basically it is the worst phone i have ever had. Application runs slow. Recieve a phone call and takes 5 seconds to accept due to other applications running in background. It is basically like running Windows and having to open Task Manager to terminate other applications using up memory. Avoid!!!

Umair: You can buy this phone (used) around 100 pound.. I only have mine since a few weeks, but i think the build quality is very good, but you may have to buy a new battery sooner or later, if u plan to have this phone for a longer term.

There is no windows mbile 6.1 update for it because it isgetting old now, the rom is probable too small for 6.1. it would be a pointless waste ofmoney for o2 to bring out a windows mobile 6.1 update for it. There is a windows mobile 6.0 update though. But i dont have this phone yet (should be getting it this week) so what do i know?! Hope this helps, Benjie.

Turn on you bluetooth. The bluetooth of the receiver of the item to be sent should be turned on two. Now open the item you want to send wether picture, music or whatever. Also make sure that the recieving phone has enough space for item you want to send. Highlight the item you want to send. Options will popup.select send VIA BLUETOOTH. The phone will locate the other phone and send the item upon you confirmation. i hope this is useful to you.

To send send useing BT you got to pair devices first and then takes you to yur data to pick what to send to paired devices:)

I find it almost impossible to send anything via bluetooth as it only brings out other options except bluetooth. meanwhile it is easier to receive files. cann someone explain how to send things via bluetooth on this phone please..... Thanks

the led light flashes green and then red if u hav a msg, missed call or are low on battery. also dont try a 4gig card in the fone, it ruined transferring songs onto my trion through windows media player.

Time to say goodbye....well, after 2 years, my O2 has faded away into cell phone heaven. It gave me som eminor issues while I owned it, and now, the ringer finally died leaving only the vibrate function working. Time to move on... I have now moved on to the NOKIA N95 8GB - WOW!!! to silent lover,,,i use mobymemory all time for memory cards and they test the card with a device to make sure it does work but it only approves it with the 2gb card,,but dont quote me as i am unsure wether a firmware upgrade can fix this because nokia n80,,n73 etc too are stuck at 2gb limit

Hi there I have a O2 XDA Trion and have been trying to download skype but firstly I can't find the mobile on the skype download screen, and secondly if I try to download one of the other XDA skype options, my laptop just says that the file name that skype is trying to download is ivalid and wont allow the download - any ideas or help gratefully recieved

Also, if people are having problems with the upgrade link, make sure you are using Internet Explorer to use it. The first couple of time I tried was using Mozilla Firefox and after an email to support, I was told this caused problems. I switched to IE and it worked first time. Altho it seems to be an incredibly slow download

Had the o2 XDA Trion a couple of days now, worked pretty well so far. Have had problems with my micro SD card however. Windows Media Player refuses to add the files stored on the card to the library. Anyone got any suggestions? is it compatible with 2gb micro SD? Cheers

this a warning to all those who are planning to buy o2 devices in the future! beware! I am from India. I was happy using O2 phones such as the XDA II and the Atom so I decided to go in for another. I purchased an O2 XDA Stealth on Feb 12th 2007 and had immediately regretted the decision as I started facing a hell lot of problems in the device. Almost after a month of correspondence with O2 they sent me a replacement handset. I was happy until i opened the new unit. It had the same problems and some new. Again after long talks with O2 (Mr Keanu) they sent me another replacement promising me that this would work but it did not. Naturally I was very angry and frustrated. At this stage I ahd lost all faith in the Stealth and demanded O2 to give me some other handset for all the inconvienience that I have faced . After a series of talks with O2 Singapore(Mr Keanu) I received an Atom Exec. But my problems worsened! After a couple of days the Exec "died" ie it would not charge. when the charger was connected it would show full battery and when disconnected it would switch off and not switch on for days. Highly annoyed and frustrated I began my talks again with O2 and at the same time bought the O2 Zinc. That was another error from my side as the Zinc also had problems. Its indicator LED malfunctioned and the microphone gave out static. Those were horrible times for me having two defective handsets. O2 finally agreed to replace both these handsets and they did. So I have already used 3 Stealths, 2 Atom Execs and 2 Zincs. That adds up to 7 O2 phones in about five and a half months!!! Well things dont end here. once again I am having problems with the Zinc such as the LED is malfunctioning, the speaker switches on automatically when a call is made, the speaker dies out, screen freezes..etc.. So to all those who are planning on investing their money on an O2 device please do not as the quality of O2 devices is degrading day by day and is no longer dependable as it once upon a time was. if any of you want to know bout the problems i faced in these many devices please contact me on +919884414907

I've had the O2 XDA Trion for 1 year now! fantastic. I travel all over the world with it, and would never change it! I use 3G, POP G-MAIL/MSN E-MAIL accts, and WI-FI with Skype...works at a reasonable level. The only other phone I would trade this one in for os the I-mate ultimate tablet - but it is taking 4ever to be released!

Sorry Ij but the information you posted is incorrect... *there is blackberry connect software available from www.o2.co.uk/xda select already have an xda and select the exec (this runs on the same firmware as the trion so will work) scroll to software update and select more information enter imei and phone number and the software can be downloaded hope this helps some of you* This does not work so please don't try it people. The trion operates on a very different firmware version and BIS or blackberry is unsupported currently. Hey the Mini and Exec were when they were released and now they have software updates! It will be released soon. keep checking www.my-xda.com

Had it now for around a month - its fantastic - i use it for emails adn as an external modem for my laptop when out and about - much cheaper than using these internet cafe / coffee shops who charge you the earth for a days worth of use - dead easy to set up as well. This phone is better as its 3g - however, if you want a fantastic sat nav phone and good looking device, go orbit. I have the orbit and it really is a fantastic good all rounder. The sat-nav on the orbit is second to none - (dont use the sat nav that comes with it though - download tom tom 6 from www.mininova.org - full version) Enjoy!

I don't know where Jonathan got that from I've had the O2 Trion for a few weeks and the bluetooth works flawlessly with my phone. Trion to Sony Ericson 910i, Jabra, and my BMW 320d Touring (Even showing the whole phone and sim phone numbers on the radio console)

i'm an owner of a dopod 838 PRO, which is the O2 trion equivalent in asia. yep there is a free software you can download to enable the device for blackberry services. re: micro SD -- i bought a 1 gig one for around 10 U$ equivalent. a 2 gig one is also available for around twice that price but they ran out of stocks here, so i'm still waiting for it to arrive.

I got this phone on 02 yesterday. Im sending it back today. The reception is terrible. I was all over london and the surrounding areas yesterday and never saw a decent amount of reception. When you do get a measley two bars you still cant hear the person on the end of the phone, mind you thats not so bad as they cant hear you anyway!Ive had to call o2 7 times since 9am yesterday. I never had any issues like that with 3. So Im going back there. They dont have as many smart phones but these days a nokia e65 will do the job. Ive had terrible experiences with this phone. Added to that is the fact that the handset was faulty anyway! A couple of 45 minute calls with o2 tech support, dropped calls, missing files, poor reception and lastly the phone came completely un-set up meaning the first of a few long calls with 02 to get the settings set up. Get this phone at your own risk

The Trion is made by HTC and has newer software than the Zinc which is made by AsusTek.

HI all I have been using the handset for 6 months, screen alignment problems? un heard of have used this baby to the full potential, emulator spot on 3g spot on tom tom 6 like a dream, I have had a few niggles but nothing a soft reset cant fix as u are all prob aware. This phone is an excact copy of the DOPOD 838 PRO. I do not recommend you to buy this phone, it only has a 400Mhz processor and its pretty laggy( ive use this phone before), now i have changed to the O2 xda zinc.. thats a SUPERB phone, and super fast processor (520mhz processor) no more laggy applications... in conclusion.. i DO NOT recomend u to buy this phone due to its 400mhz processor. it is also and EXCACT COPY of the DOPOD 838 PRO. Cant O2 think of some better design!? I SUGGEST O2 XDA ZINC(SUPERB PHONE)!!!!

This phone is great. I luv it! The only issues is the camera. It's only gud for eBay. Everything else is brilliant: The screen is sharp, the keyboard is perfect and it's my first phone with decent recognition of hand writing (yeah, I really use it!). And it supports WLAN which is the best part. You can skype (free phone calls!) all over the campus. Trion rules!

to janos : well if you talking about screen resolution, yes i'm agree with you we can distinguish it....SE t 610 has 128x128 screen resolution that's why we can distinguish it....try to distinguish phone picture with same resolution but different colour such SE p910 and SE p900 or nokia e70 and n80..or try to distinguish the colour display of your computer display between 16 bit and 32 bit...

I just got this phone (mines a 8525) after having a Nokia 6681 and it blows it away and the qwerty keyboard is a great upgrade for me the only thing that is an issue is the camera its 2 megapixels but it doesent have a zoom and has issues with color in low light or to much light and all in all the camera isnt something to envy but it is a great phone and pocket pc

Radja, are you kidding? The eye can easily distinguish between 65k, 256k and 16 million colours. More colours equals better blending, and better blending makes a better picture. Honestly, go find a phone with 65k colours, the SE T610 for example, and compare an image on it with an image on a computer screen (16million + colours) and tell me there is no difference.

to tee : surely it would be trouble to type in single hand even just for a word. a human eye can't see the differences between 65k colors, 256k or even 16Million colors...mean that this gadget screen is great even it's only provide 65k colors...

Well, the O2 XDA Trion has officially burned out on me. The LCd screen is just plain blacked out, and it will not come on, yet it seems that I can receive phone calls!! I just cannot see the screen anymore. I even tried removing teh battery, resetting the device etc - nothing. Dam these phones burn out fast! Let's see if import GSM will replace it.

I just wanted to know if you are able to type text using the QWERTY keyboard with only 1 hand??? I really like everything about this device but I sometimes hate the hassle of having to tap the screen or slide the keypad & have to use 2 hands just to type 1 word (I'm always on the go). I know you might tell me to not get a SLIDE phone/pda but I have to have all the specs of this device, plus I like the design & all. One other thing; can anybody post a picture taken from this pda? Also, how's the quality of the LCD? I dont know if I like the 65K colors...is the LCD sharp?! PLEASE I need a response from a user of this PDA. Thanks in advance

It says that this phone was announced in May and is available. However when I contacted my O2 service provider they are telling me that it might only be released on 27/11/06? Are the Trion's readily available in the UK or is it just the Service Provider who does not have them released yet?

Thanks for the insight Alan duly noted :) One thing I recently found is that this phone does support A2DP - it's a FANTASTIC way to listen to MP3s via Bluetooth and wireless headphones. MP3's sound incredible with clear CD quality. Now I know why the phone does not have an input jack for wired headphones. :-)

starscream, trust me. i dun believe any telco is running hsdpa yet coz it is 3.5g. UMTS is 3g. we are still at 3g. is just that ur phone is for the future n u dun have to buy any new phone when hsdpa is launched :-)

regarding conference calling, the phone itself does support 3-way calling if you have it with your carrier...otherwise NO. You can use skype with multiple parties as an alternative on this phone. I hate listening on the outer speaker however.

Allan, I read teh articles, but trust me, I've had the phone for months and it nevers picks us HSDPA only UMTS so it does NOT have 3.5G wioreless as I mentioned - only 3G. Maybe its different in the US, if you are using this phone in USA, let me know what carrier is provoding 3.5G - but I use Cingular and it UMTS is teh only speed it can pick up.

The O2 XDA does NOT support 3.5G(HSDPA) @ 1.8Mb speeds. It only supports UMTS @ 384kb speeds. Bali, MicroSd is the most miniature SD card out right now the approximate size of your pinky fingernail to get an idea. The O2 XDA Trion does not have a jack to plug in headphones! If you listen to MP3's it will be using the external speaker. I was not too dissapointed as I have an Ipod I use of Mp3's. -Starscream

The speakerphone is good, No it does not have radio, it can play MP3's, Skype not a problem either which are the nicest features I like. Add a 1Gb Micro slot card, and you can record up to 5 minutes of video. The 2MP camera is very good!

Looking at the Dopod 838Pro but I live in Australia and there appears to be a hold up on delivery. Just got told the new devlivery date of mid Nov, from the original early Oct. Major bummer as I have already ordered the Dopod (but can cancel). Need some advice on a couple of things. First the camera, the Dopod gets great reviews but there seems to be some dodgy comments about the JasJams camera. Are they the same!? Second, the Dopod advertises 11g but the JasJam says 11b/g with reviews saying the JasJams real speed is 11b!? Is this the same for both or does the Dopod have real 11g? Thanks and by the way the JasJam is available in Australia. Good to see we are not totally left behind.

Hi M, That's interesting news, I've been chasing o2 UK for some time on the same matter and have been getting no where fast. Your comment about HTC dropping partnership with o2 UK is interesting, as if you notice o2 will soon launch the o2 Cosmo which is 'ditto' HTC S620 !!! So if what you have been advised is correct then why are HTC involved on this one(which is later model)but not the Trion???.......I feel that you were advised wrongly or maybe it's wishfull thinking on my part.

Samsung Processor is actually based on ARM so i guess any applications developed for ARM should suitable. So, far i have installed these applications on my HTC TyTN (which is similar to O2 XDA Trion and Dopod 838Pro) and there is no problem at all. Only Dopod 838Pro and HTC TyTN are available now in Brunei... they are similar to 02 XDA Trion. I got mine for B$1388 only...

tiziano, i dont believe you need to install any software.. have you tried checking the network settings on the trion? there should be an icon you can press with the stylus..it should be the logo of your service carrier..im not sure but you can give that a try..

you need to find out first if the location you are in has signal for a 3g network..also remember that the person you are trying to video call needs to have a phone that has video calling features as well..hoe is the video recording on the trion? is it decent or just like the older xda when the voice is faster than the video?

I just had an interesting conversation with O2 business regarding the release of the XDA Trion in the UK. First person I spoke to told me that the Trion was not on the 15 week schedule of new phones releases so it definately wouldn't be released in that time. So I phoned a different number at O2 and was told that the Trion is expected sometime late August or September??!!! I told the man what I had previously been told by the other rep and he says that is rubbish and that the unit is currently being tested by the testing unit prior to it's UK release! So it seems the phone is coming to the UK...but I bet if I call a third person at O2 they will tell me something completely different...*sigh* Why dont these people sing from the same hymnsheet? Anyone heard any different news on the Trion's UK release date (if ever?)?? Al

Stop wondering where to buy this phone. It is already for more than 2 weeks available from the REAL MANUFACTURER HTC and it is the TyTN. Check it out on the website and you will see price as well with FULL spec. It is the perfect size and instead of buying the P990 you can buy this instead as it is a Window based mobile as well. By the way, the REAL manufacturer is HTC so why bother to buy it as an I-Mate or O2. HTC is the main player from now on and who knows....may be they will stop producing it for I-mate!! In regards to O2 ATOM and O2 ATOM EXEC both models are produced by another manufacturer (Not HTC) and this is the reason that they have Intel processor with FM radio.

They even posted the latest O2 brochure, it has the O2 XDA Exec, known to be the latest there. I was so desperate that I even provide them this website, so disheartening to hear that they do not possess this model!

I bought the phone from ImportGSM, but be warned, it's the German version & all the manuals & quickstart guides are in German. They will send you a PDF version in English & they programmed the phone to work on Cingular for me. If you are familiar with MS Windows Smartphone or PDA software, the phone is easy to figure out. IT IS AN AWESOME PHONE!!! Another thing, all these websites that list the memory card slot as having a mini SD are WRONG, it's a microSD (transflash) slot, which is only available in 1 GB @ the moment.

well finally it seems i can get an upgrade to my XDA Exec. I have to admit the exec has a few flaws such as the camera but in general has been an awesome phone. I just hope that HTC finally wakes up in regards to the headphone jack,i cant believe they made it a mini usb jack that then plugs in a standard adapter,why not leave it how it was on the Exec???!!!! Another thing i noticed was the branding issue in regards to who would be supplying the phone,HTC has the grey buttons to indicte more clearly where the numeric keys are situated which i think is great for easier acsess so wtf have o2 ruined it by keeping all the keys the same colour,dont they realise that some times if it aint broke, you dont need to fix it??!! Anyway until this phone is out i guess we'll have to sit and wait paitiently....now can somone tell me, is there ever going to be an app like agile messeneger that will allow the use of the 3G video call cam as a web cam, this is the only thing missing if you ask me to make this and other XDA 3G phones the best all round phones on the market????

This is more like executive phone, it doesnt need a radio. There are better phones that are more entertainment oriented with radio. This is different than Atom Exec because this has 3G, and also a keyboard.

definitely this phone works in the philippines. Its a quadband phone. Smart and Globe uses 900 and 1800 mhz. however, this phone might not be available for purchase there.

Allan, the phone is made by another company (HTC) and re-branded by who ever wants to sell it... It is the same phone. HTC make the majority of smart/pc phones.

Yes, I agree with Mr.Allan. HTC is the manufacturer for O2,Qtek,I-mate and may be for some other companies. That's the design for all models look almost 100% similar. Recently (in this month) HTC has announced, it will involved in sales and marketing by itself using brand name HTC. I expect that will no more the similarities. You can see in its website

ive always wondered about this type of phone & have a question???? On my c550 which i have if i play jawbreaker for example the joy pad does left/right/up/down & push in centre to play the game ,,,,does the control pad at the bottom of these better devices operate the same as a joypad type effect..I have been studying like mad to get updated on these type of devices as hav been using symbian mainly & the spv c500,,c550 type devices & wish to update to this type of touchscreen device...Also do they playback steady widescreen video of good resolution or are the processors still not up to much & need a graphics accelarator to cope ,,cheers

O2 UK doesn't currently have a release date for this model, though I hope we'll get a date soon! This does look like a stunning phone, will be interested to see how the Samsung processor performs. I own a Mini S and love it to bits, but it does need a little more ooomph to make it perfect, which hopefully the 400MHz will do.

Thats because its a non english keyboard layout.. I saw this phone on a German site, and on another site which pointed out it had a German keyboard layout.... do you really think they would have made them, and not noticed one of the keys was wrong..???

"QWERTZ" is the german layout for a keyboard because Z is more commonly used in german language than Y. Makes sense since not only do O2 operate O2-Germany, but GSM Arena is a German Website. This is obviously a variation and no doubt they will release "QWERTY" keyboards for every country that uses "QWERTY". Also, not that the french use "AZERTY" keyboards. Most European countries have many variances in the placement of letters, not just the first 6.

Finally! The PDA phone that's worthy of my liking. Long time ago, I used XDA II, it came to terms that I needed a 3G phone but the Exec is not my liking. So I just bought Nokia N70 and a Separate PDA XDA IIs. But this one is definitely my next buy, it fulfills all my needs. An ample processor, wi-fi, a qwerty keyboard without the twist-sub-note design of the Exec, and of course 3G!

think i'll be havin this as my next upgrade, had the mini s but its little software glitch of the phone application not responding following any form of internet connection, causing me to constantly soft reset it caused me to sell straight away and get the xda 2i, with any luck, this software glitch will have been sorted and the processor being quicker will also mean the difference in speed between this new trion and my xda 2i will be almost unnoticable
