Bad software ... no update after 2 years? really?

I've been using this phone since 2014. It's the best one ever for me, I don't have any reason to buy a newer phone (other than storage/ram). Quick charging, great camera, really easy to use. I can't think of any issue with this phone. I even dropped the phone like a dozen times but there's not even a single scratch on the screen. Although the OS is quite old, I use custom ROM (Lineage) to get the latest Android version so it's not much of an issue.

How to update find 7a to Lollipop 5.0..??? First of all download kingroot app from google chrome and root your phone then download full lollipop rom 5.0 from given link community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&a­mp;tid=42345 then place this zip file into root folder of your phone and start phone in recorvery mode by pressing power key and volumn down key at same time. there you will find option wipe data and cache after wiping go to root folder and click zip file after few minutes your phone will become update. All act do at your own risk it worked for me so I share with you.

no doubt the best phone I ever had. bought a second hand model actually for half the price of a new one. I love the gestures where I only have to tap my screen two times to turn the screen on/off. before I updated to lollipop via OTA the camera was superb. but after, it kinda sucks. especially the beauty effect. everything else is fine, the battery could last for one day even with data network switched on. and it rarely lags even when using multiple apps behind. I sold this one to a friend to buy the latest F1 but now I'm kinda regretting it.. haha. best phone ever for me :)

I do not know why people are complaining battery drain problem anyhow I have solution try it may be it work for you. Leave the battery until it dead and then plug into charger repeat this process 3 times. Keep RAM clean.

Do not use other charge than oppo. It can bricked your battery. Use oppo charger. If it gets warm when charging, reinsert battery. Oppo phone and battery are not suppose to get warm when charging.

Depend on your need.if more power with more screen resolution and more internal memory,then f7 is for you.but if you need more balance,f7a then. F7 consume more power mostly because of the QHD screen while the battery for f7a last longer since its FHD.I have f7a with me and satisfy with it since I hate to carry along powerbank or recharge it every few hours.horse power is enough and can run real racing 3 without lag.

The Zenfone 2 feels sluggish ever with the Developer Option tweeks. I bought the Oppo Find 7a because for its price it is a beast. I have not noticed the battery heating up at all. I have the Oppo Find 7a, on the I am very happy with it except for 1 cosmetic issue. I discovered that the volume rocker botton is loose (slides forward & back in its slot by around 0.3 mm)and it rattles ever so slightly when you shake the phone. There have been reports of this on the various Oppo forums as far back as May 2014 (Again it's just cosmetic, but then again...)

Oppo restricts all auto call recorders apps. I have changed permission in the security center but the problem still remains. It's preinstalled call recorder doesn't work automatically. It also limit to download apps from play store. When the storage become 3gb, the error, insufficient space, occours while there are more the 7gb in the internal storage. I already have changed the storage path from system space, phone and base on system,but the problem also still remains the same. Could some one advise how to make work the auto call apps? Thanks.

Hi guys. Been using this phone for about 7-8 months up till now, so far no big issue about it. Yes battery drains fast but it's not so bad when OPPO gives you 2 chargers. One is super-fast charger with VOOC. Sound & call quality are all pretty good. Graphic is great. Only its camera is a letdown at night when using flash. Looks gloomy.

I have this phone for over a year now. Still one of the best in term of phablet, game playing, audio, and web surfing. Photo is OK but if you use Google Camera app and tweak a bit then it is awesome. Weak points are battery life and weak signal (I have Tmobile and lose signals occasionally). Overall, still a decent phone after a year compared to the likes of iPhone 5S, LG G3, Fire Phone, Nexus 5 that I have experienced with.

Pros: This phablet rocks! It can play Asphalt 8 and NBA2k15 without lagging but surely it'll heat a bit in NBA2k15. The aperture 2.0 in the cameras are awesome so as the 4k recording of video. I'm amazed that this Find7a also has slow motion recording like that of Iphone6. Fast charging is cool with just almost 45 minutes or less (20% remaining). And Oh it can read my external 1Tb harddisk and watch a movie but not recommended 'coz after 30mins of watching it will surely heats up at the back. It will work just fine if after opening many apps just long press the left button and exit all the apps by pressing the center button. Cons: Recently I noticed that my bluetooth never get on, I have to restart the phone to get it on. Sometimes my network lost connection so I have to switch to airplane mode and back on to have may connection, maybe an isolated case of my network here in the Philippines?

One of the Best Smartphone available, ive tried Samsung, Sony, ASUS, Lenovo, Xiaomi, etc are those is not impressed me. The build quality is amazing (i can say better than samsung) and growing community at their forum, their dev os are very friendly and upgrade or downgrade OS never been easier like this (the easiest on earth i can recall). The KK (ColorOS 2.0) can be downloaded from Oppo forums, and at least the version I am using has no issues with front or back camera, nor does it have any yellow cast, or drops of signal, or overheating or... any issues other than FireFox stopping a minute or so after opening it. Battery life seems no different than in 1.0, nor does anything else. I don't see it particularly snappier than on JellyBean, but yes, I was annoyed from the beginning about the missing Apps drawer. But now see that many manufacturers are moving to a single layer, like iOS. On the other hand the only limitation of this is that you can't just "hide" useless junk that comes preloaded on the phone which you never use but don't want to delete. You can move it to the last page, but can't really "hide" it into app drawer. Got used to it by now, but it did irritate me badly from the beginning. As for heating, never noticed it, but do note that I am not a gamer. I expected it to cook when recording 4K video like Xperia Z2, but it did not. The biggest flaw (which is possible to resolve by yourself) is the app storage limit to a relatively small partition, since it's so that some apps do not like to get installed on SD card, hence someone who plans to install lots of apps may wish to reconsider purchase, or risk of repartitioning the internal storage. The second biggest flaw is the much touted beautify mode, which has no adjustment option for the effects, hence making you look like ET. The cameras (both) are very good in good light (better than Sony's, I dare say), but do suffer from hit and miss focusing, heavy blurring from noise reduction, and are overall useless when taken at night by hand. However if you could fix the camera and take long exposure, ISO and shutter settings are available (first in settings wheel at the top, the second on ... in circle at the bottom of the interface - under slow shutter), which in ISO 100 and long exposure (up to 32 seconds) produces some D-SLR challenging shots. Now to OTA of KK... it is in the works, but it would be best to browse through the forums, to get news on that. While I would prefer to use an official release than "stable beta" that I do now, I can't say I am at all disappointed with the way Oppo is handling this. It's far better than Asus, which released updates, then pulled them, then rereleased them, just to break everyone's phones, and pull them back again... Sometimes you just should not cave into demands from the public to release something that's not ready, and Oppo's decision to give it to those of us who want it but are willing to accept that it may not be perfect, and only give it to the rest when it's 100% tested, was a very good one, in my opinion. That said - I prefer ZenUI from Asus over any other UI from any other brand of mobile phone makers, and wish Oppo borrowed the look and feel of Asus' apps and put it in ColorOS. I'd trade that for MaxxAudio, Music and Photo space anytime.

Camera is very good, as long as it has enough light. Don't know where that yellowish tint complaints come from, but I have 2 of them and both are perfect. So is Find7. It often takes photos so good I have to check EXIF data to see which photo was taken with D-SLR and which with this phone. 4k video is also outstanding. What sucks is beautify mode. It reshapes face and make bigger eyes. Sucks.

No regrets since I bought it when it first launched a few months back. Had some glitches with software but now working well. I have used +40 phones all different brands including ios. So far for battery life, none to beat Lenovo S930, I use it mainly for reading, lasts for days, very happy with it. I used my Oppo fine7a to take photos and video on my Europe holidays, beautifully taken especially in super HD mode. Many of my friends saw it and bought the new Oppo fine7. Very happy with it. One problem though, when is the update to Kitkat going to materialize? Lollipop is already here. Hope to see lollipop on my Oppo soon........

Are the 3rd party headphones made for Android or iPhone? If for iPhone, the buttons won't work, but headphones and microphone still should (tried VModa Remix, which specifically states Made for iPhone/iPad). But Sony "Android headset" works properly, at least in my case. Using 4.4.2 OS update, never tested in JellyBean though.

Hi everyone I just bought my find7a a week ago and I am loving it. VOOC charging is awesome. Great camera front and back more impressively that it captures 50mp. I use mine for playing games,listening to music, heavy messaging, youtube, phone calls, awesome stereo speaker, and my battery last for a day and a half. Screen display is crisp and clear. Never thought of a China brand would come this far. Hoping these new small companies will come up and continue with new ideas and offer much better specs for a reasonable price than those over expensive Apple devices, Samsung, HTC. This phone will definitely give Apple, Samsung a run for their money. one thing I noticed though, Mine does not work properly with 3rd party accessory : earphones : I hope this can be resolved with an update. Everything else is close to perfect no lag, speedy processor. Best smartphone I had so far. Works great in Dubai.

turning off your LTE and using the H+ give significant increase in battery life. if you can live without 4G LTE like me then this is a great for battery life. H+ speeds in singapore is fast anyways. streaming is no problem

Updated to KitKat and I am not particularly thrilled about it. While the update process (alas manual) went smooth, I am less than thrilled by the iPhone lookalike OS. Basically, the app drawer is gone, so all apps you download get dropped straight into the main pages, and it's hard to move them around. No reshuffling of pages, which is just as stupid as iOS, with difference that KK has Widgets, which some of need complete pages to accommodate, so it does not work very well. Overall, JB was sleeker and I somewhat regret upgrading.

Buy Find7 battery. That will give you extra 10% or so. Else get a Greenify or similar battery saving app. Don't expect miracles with any of those, though, as the CPU in it is still a beast and this is LTE phone, which by default burns through battery.

Just bought my oppo find 7a a week ago. So far so good, one of the best smartphone brand I've ever used. My previous phones were HTC and Samsung which I find them horrible (sorry). Oppo is soooo smooth(no lag) and the camera is pretty good. I can finally take nice selfies :) Color OS is my current fav! The only downside is the battery life is not that long. It lasts me around a day or so just because i'm not a very heavy user (just twitter, fb, insta from time to time) The battery drainage is fast but no worries cuz it charges very very fast too I'm amazed! Anyway, anybody knows how to improve find 7a's battery life? pleaseeee :))

Much longer than Find7, especially when you put the Find7 battery in it (yes, you can). But that said, battery life is not spectacular and is barely half of the Sony XPERIA Z2 which is the longest lasting phone I have. I need to admit though that despite that I've never ran out of juice during the day. VOOC charger also helps, which is unbelievably fast, so a quick pit stop gives you hours more battery life.

Scrolling down to another one of my posts will answer your question. Yes. There is a limit of 2.95 GB. Below you have steps to make that whatever you want. From what I've read, there's now an app available that will do it for you on Oppo Forums, and even one that wipes all partitions and makes one partition for all data. This works on Oppo Find 5, Find 7 and Find 7a.

I love my 7a. What I hate about it is when you open notes, then open a note you made, then its gone. Like the wind. All those saved thoughts gone in a snap. It happens sometimes, when you open a note, there will be nothing on the note, when you press back, the note is gone. Please fix this, this is very important to me.

There's a Find7a clone, with specs between 7 and 7a, but about half the price of 7. OnePlus One. It's made by the same team that worked on Find7 and then started their own company. Most of the phone is the same, OS is different (KitKat Cyanogen vs. JellyBean ColorOS in Find7/7a) and it has no SD slot. Biggest issue with it is availability. But you have at least information on it here on GSM Arena, so take a look. All brands - One Plus, and the only phone they have.

Well, it does ask you to move a large app to sd by default. Secondly the network is fantastic on this esp 3g browsing. Call quality is very good. Low in call volume was fixed with an update. 4g connectivity is available in india. This phone is a beast.

Despite Find7 having space on formatter board for the second SIM, that is missing the parts and software to make it active. As such, the phone comes with a single SIM support, and whether you can have call waiting while in the call or not depends on settings at your operator. Find 7 does not support dual SIM.

I agree with most, but� I do not have yellow tint on the screen on neither Find7 nor 7a. Both screens are perfect. They are both less than a month old, though, so this may develop later? It takes me considerably longer to charge the phones. Yes, 75% is below 30 minutes, but the remaining 25% takes about 40-45 minutes more. 7 indeed has quadHD display, but 7a does not, it's FullHD. I must say that I prefer the way things are looking on 7a more than on 7. And I definitely prefer the battery life of 7a. On light use it lasts me 2 days, on heavier use it still goes comfortably through the day with 30% or so to spare in the evening. The standby (on wifi, 1 exchange email, Line, WhatsApp, FB) takes 1% off the battery every 2.5-3 hours. Which is better than on other phones. Obviously when you start using it, the battery drains faster, but as said, on 7 much faster than on 7a, by a factor of about 3-4x. On camera, it is obviously noisy in low light, but compared to ZenFone which touts that owl mode, it still does a whole lot better job than Zen. And a lot better job than many others, including Xperia Z2 (which is total rubbish on camera) and Samsung S5 - both are supposed to be in the top of the camera phones offering. That said, small, high resolution sensors have physical limits, and there's only that far you can push a Sony sensor of that pixel size. Finally on the packaging� yes� I mean Oppo has some special interest in packaging. The bluray players come with a carry bag, the headphones in rosewood box that's more suitable for some fine jewellery than a set of cans, then these phones - yes, they certainly look something very special. Completely opposite from Apple trying to cut down on packaging cost, and making boxes smaller, lighter, thinner� Oppo makes them� something that even if the phone died, you'd want to keep the box :) Good review, thank you.

Been using this mobile from past 2 weeks, below is the review. PACKAGING (10/10): Hats off to oppo for the most amazing packaging no mobile has such an amazing packing Build (8/10): The build is very good & it feels amazing in the hand & yes it feels like a very expensive phone & most people have complimented the phone. The reason that I have gave rating 8/10 because removing the back cover of the phone is a headache as there is no slot to put your figure nail as we have in other mobiles; also the power button is on left side of the phone which makes it easy to use for a left handed person. Display (6/10) : The display is amazing Quad HD display feels great for gaming/movies as well, you will definitely love it. The problem with the display is that the mobile has a �Yellow Tint� to it & the tint is visible when you have a white screen for example if you are viewing the groups on whats-app you can see the lover groups/contact have a slightly milky color that the top most contact which has white color. The reason for providing the rating this low is because for a 31K mobile I do not want to see a yellow tint any time I start my mobile, also due to the yellow tint you won�t be able to put light color (white) wallpapers as you will notice the yellow tint every time you unlock the device. Performance (8/10) : The hardware seems to be very good so gaming is amazing. Any games will run like a charm; however there is a heating problem, so the back side of the phone will heat up after some time of gaming. The Color OS seems to be buggy I keeps on crashing application like Contacts/Photos and various other application, after paying 31K I do not expect applications to keep on crashing. If you ask for the frequency of crashing I would say 1 application crash is seen in around every 3 days & the applications that crash varies. Battery (9/10): The charging is superfast you will definitely love it. Around 40 min to charge the entire phone from 0 to 100%, so it will definitely spoil your habit as you will get used to fast charging & it would be difficult for you to switch to other phone. The issue now the battery like is average with 3G on & average calls the battery goes from 100% to 13% in 16 hrs, but the super-fast charging compensates that. Camera (8/10): Both the cameras provide very good images in normal lights & have a amazing focus speed, however the image Quality is not that great in low lights. Overall : Amazing phone & if you have purchased it please do not try to figure out the yellow tint as once you see it you will always see it & if you want to buy this phone please remember that when you show a 31K mobile to your friends with a yellow tint on it, you can understand the response. Thanks for strengthening my belief. Well I bought oppo 7a cos 7 has poor battery backup for the qhd. I cannot express my happiness. I left my xperia z2 on using this beast. Excellent performer. Ultimate smooth UI. No lags whatsoever. Beautiful hd screen. Earphones are magical. Unexpectedly good. Bass is fantastic. Noise cancellation is good. I get frequent updates for issues. Speaker is amazingly loud and clear. The connectivity is good too. Voice is clear n crisp. Best part is the camera. It beats s5 too. Sony has the worst though. Color os is highly customisable so its not for simple users. My phone does charge to 100 in about an hour after a few initial charges. Warning this phone is meant for high end users who understand their devices well and can customize it to their preference. Kudos Oppo. Thanks again shannon.

Hi man, I'd take the 7a over the 7 anytime. The Oppo displays are extremely good, up there with the HTC ones. Full HD is plenty for a 5.5" screen, the QHD displays have lower brightness (the grid is much denser) and are worse for your battery than cocaine was for Charlie Sheen's career. I do think the 7 comes with optional 32GB on board storage, but hardly worth the extra money over the 7a imo. And thats not taking availability into account.

There seem to be a bug for Oppo Find 7a. When using the headphone or speaker during call, the other party can't hear us clearly. I have try using other headphone the same issue persist. When using speaker, the other party can't hear clearly even when speaking closely thru the mic. Normal call is ok. Other than this, this phone is superb. I hope Oppo will fix it soon.

Hi I'm from Malaysia. I bought this phone few days ago and it's been pretty amazing so far. Screen:big and nice. the colour can be consider sharp and bright. I have no prob using my phone under the sunlight. Sound:It is very loud and clear with the MaxxAudio. The recording quality is clean and clear. 👍 Camera:Honestly I'm impressed with its 13mp camera. I cannot find a way to describe. Simply amazing!! Front camera works very well too. I can take pretty selfie now even though I'm not that pretty. lol the only disadvantage is oppo find 7a's camera doesn't have many shooting modes like other brands' phone have but it's alright. :) Performance:not even a slight laggy so far(I play asphalt8 and iron man 3). with it's 2.3ghz quad core processor,everything works so much better. :( :a)The vooc charger takes over an hour for me to charge full. it charges at a high speed at first but once it reaches 90% the speed dropped. :( b) I know some people are having the screen yellowing issue but it didn't occur to mine. or it haven't.. lol but it's been four days. well let's see Overall:I am really happy with my find7a! Got this phone a week ago and has been great so far. Had ColorOS 2.0 beta on for first couple of days very nice features but still to much bugs. Build quality of this phone is very good also feels very sturdy. Cant wait for the Cyanogenmod firmware also looks great on the One plus One. As far as the charging goes it is a great feature other phones seem to charge forever now.

I got this phone several days ago in Malaysia for my wife. So far so good. Camera is awesome, function is user friendly and easy to use. Charging the battery is a breeze, from 5% to 100% in less then an hour. Unfortunately, standby time is not good. The phone is very sensitive and the UI is very smooth,and virtually lag free. I have to admit it is better than my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. You won't regret using this phone

Though this model come only second to Find 7, the spec is really good. At 5.5", snapdragon 801 chip n 2GB of ram you really have much to complain. The only suspect is the battery at 2800 mAh, but with inclusion of fast charger it's a relieve. Now promoting at Malaysia, price reasonable n good bargain.

538 PPI is found on the Find 7. the Find 7a, the lower version, has 401 PPI.

Had the phone just over a week. So far good :) Bought from oppostyle for £308 delivered, half the cost of a galaxy s5 and most of the goodness. Screen - Big, crisp, good viewing angles, get a matt screen protector, makes it soooo much more usable in the sun. Sound - Waves audio, dual speaker on rear, great sound, bloody loud as well. Equlizer for headphones, waves audio again awesome sounding. Build quality / call quality - Great solid build, fells well balanced in hand, easy enuff for one handed use if your hands are big enuff. Call quality is load and clear, loudspeaker works pretty well too, picking up most of the sound clear from across the room. Software - Color os 1.2 is great, nice change, easy customization, quick and snappy, but does have drawbacks, only 2.95gb for app installation... big let down there, will require an app to move some current apps to micro sd, bit of a pain. Got a software update after phone been out a few days, nice to see support. Color os 2.0 in beta, hopefully when done will be a nice update. Battery - Vooc charging, 0-100 in less than an hour, about 45 mins for me. Amazing and stupid quick. Every phone should have this PERIOD, at this price how this can have it and other top ends dont is rediculus. Battery will vary for what you do but i get a full days use. Some youtube in the morning, check twitter email, few phone calls through the day, reply to texts. Not bad. And a spare battery included. Awesome Camera - excellent sensor. Sony camera module. Clear and crisp images, plenty of modes, 4k video, great audio recording. Make your own gifs, never seen that on a phone, front facing 5mp, clear and great for selfies or video chatting. Super zoom 50 mp mode is not to bad, i feel some color gets washed out for clarity in the zoom to capture more detail. Overall i love the phone, feels good, looks good. 9/10 Buy this phone

Colour OS it is a great system on the phone and works very well and id easy to get to know and is very fluid. have been using since it came to OPPO phones.

With proper marketing strategies/selling channels it will be hugely bought by people for not only in emerging markets but in fully developed markets as well. Oppo is still a young and new born company unlike their native counterparts Huawei and Lenovo that have resellers/distributors all around globe. Oppo N1 is phone which can be found in palms of persons in all 7 continents.
