The SD Memory card slot goes up to 8 GB. I have been using 8 gb cards for years in my Palm Treo 680 for my music files and documents. Also it has GPS software from TomTom which I use daily getting around from place to place.

You need to perform a hard reset to your phone in order to change the language.you just need to google for treo update, or treo 680 hard reset, and you'll find the required info

Hi, if you're still looking for a reply, I too suffered from this with my Treo 650 and later too from the 680 and so I did a bit of digging! It occured when I changed over from a handsfree wired headest back to the handset. Palm said it was most likely a solder connection on the board at the jack but since it was out of warranty, I'd have lots of $$ and time to pay to repair it. So, I upgraded to the 680 back in 2007 instead. As of late (Dec 2010), when it has happened on my 680 intemittently, I just bang the lower portion of the phone against my hand and go figure...MAGIC...it works again! It has made me stop using my headset to be handsfree and to that end, it does suck. I dare say, it might be time for you and I both to upgrade phones. FYI - Walmart & Radio Shack have insane deals on the Samsung Captivate right now. $140.00 less than what AT&T Corporate wants me to upgrade for!!!! All the best and good luck, N P

I completely agree with this opinion. Palm Treo 680 is indeed the best phone ever made. Wonder why Palm got this disgusting idea of retiring Palm OS. Superb form factor, great build. I bought 2 new ones from eBay for just USD150 each and have kept them in wraps. Tried everything - iPhone 3GS, Bberry Bold-2, Samsung Galaxy android... Nothing comes close to the feature set of the Palm, even though the OS is dated and no development is done on it for last 3 yrs now. Unfortunate why Palm killed its golden goose.

I bought a used Palm Treo 680 last month. It's a fantastic phone through and through. The battery life is however rather disappointing and one needs to upgrade os to use mp3 as ringtones. There are extended life batteries in the market though. One also needs to buy IBM Websphere Java.. to run Opera mini. I do not understand why Palm OS is being phased out coz new Palms now run on Windows OS. Palm need to rethink their strategies.

The phone isn't bad but man, the battery life is horrible. Funny how it's written it has battery life of 300 hours stand by. Mine doesn't even last 12 hours. And I didn't even touch it.

Hello Karol, I am having the SAME problem! You need to update the sims card! Go to AT&T and ask them for a new sims card it should be free for your first one at least! I have a cingular card still I'm updating to ATT card tomorrow! Hope this helps

I'm allso using this treo, i like the shape, it,s not too big like any other PDa's, comfortable in my palm. the only problem is the battery life which is too short, and the replacepent battery is not so easy to find. but what i like the most is that treo is not something i can compare with any other phone, especially blackberry, oo many people use it. i love my treo cause not many people have it, the qwerty keyboard is a briliant idea. palm is pioneer, others just follows.

Anybody knows where we can buy a battery. Life of my battery is not working properly anymore. The battery even fully charged is good only for less than a day (I tested no usage at all the whole day from 7:00am to 7:00pm and the battery is already drained). Thanks for the help.

Hi there, unit is great though it lacks some of the features like wifi, pocketie BUT despite of the mentioned features not incorporated in the treo680, one of the best phones ever. mp3 files can't be cropped and when you use the built-in tones for your personal interests, then there's no life in it BUT once you are able to download the converter, then life is never the same again:)... ..Just be patient in searching for the right applications for the unit, it's really worth the wait guys!!(",)

I recieved 680 as insurance replacement for 650 but for the battery life i was satified. recently I have been searching for a replacement for business phone for my moble repair service but it seems no one is concern about a good business app then I stumbed upon ultimate phone for palm os with its numerous start screen opions I chose the last 20 opion which access a right hand menu that allows you to create a menu, task, sim, email, or calender event thus breathing new life into my 680

I swapped my Nokia 5320 Xpress Music to a pre owned Palm Treo 680 and I do not regret. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 3.5G, 2MP camera/music phone, it was a great phone. But having the Treo 680 although 2.5G only and VGA camera, is an absolute resolution. It has better organizer functions (I can draw using notepad!) and I can read, create, and edit documents with Palm using the keyboard and/or stylus, and install other apps too. Some things missing from my previous phone. I used to envy my father for having Nokia N73. And I used to be amazed with it's camera function. But now placing the Nokia N73 next to my Palm, the Nokia looked so lame. Hehe. If I would buy a camera, I'd choose a real digicam not a camphone. Palm Treo is my dream phone! The best.

Well, I'm back after 4 solid months of frequent Treo 680 use. The battery gets better with time and the instrument is a great all-round product 'in theory'. However the system software freezes daily and the phone shuts off frequently despite me getting a second brand new phone. I have limited the third party software to a useful few but the problems continue. If the Treo 680 functioned without these glitches, it would be unbeatable cost-wise. Meanwhile, the love-hate relationship continues.

I have also had a "freeze up"problem with the 680 that I have just bought to replace my 650. It happened as follows: 1. Set up went well and synchronisation worked OK. All the applications worked, until I tried the messaging system. 2. When I tried to create a text message, and selected new from the drop down menu, the cursor split into two short vertical segments and they oscillated up and down. 3. The screen then froze up 4. Tapping with the stylus did not work any longer and the Treo refused to turn off 5. I took the battery out, and it then closed down 6. I put the battery back, and it went through the set up routine, but when it got to the screen that requests you to use the stylus to tap the centre of the circles in the bottom right hand corner, it freezes up again 7. I can only turn it off by taking the battery out Neither a soft or hard reset made any difference. Any advice would be gratefully received. I am not very good at finding websites, but will bookmark this to try and get back to it. However if anyone has a solution, and would be prepared to email it to me I'd be very grateful. I was excited about getting this phone because of previous experience with the Tungsten T2 and Tx. However,I was disappointed. The applications froze up and the response to entered text lagged often. The camera is terrible and the speaker phone gives a high pitched distorted buzz. The battery must be charged daily but performs better with increased use. The Qwerty keyboard is not as comfortable as the Blackberry Curve's and may require fingernails for typing. Most disturbingly, the device shut off twice, spontaneously within a week! Because of so many negatives, I surmised that a hardware and software problems must have existed on this phone. I will risk getting another and posting a final review.

Hi all, I've been a palm user for many years and I must say this is a good phone with fascinating features.. However, what's the use of having so many features when you've got to charge it twice a day?! I've switched to Nokia E71 just after 2 mths use of treo 680 because full-charged battery can only last the most 6hrs with very minimal use. If you can live with charging it twice daily, it's definitely a good phone -no doubts on that.

An absolutely fantastic PDA, the best ever (after my Tungsten E, m505 and V) Poor camera performance. I had a lot of problems installing all my previous software from the Tungsten E, in particular Launcher X. I finally realized the Launcher X is NOT a good idea in the Tungsten, especially not the latest version. Also Avantgo is a problem despite several installations. Treos that constantly restart I believe are mainly software problems, not hardware. The Palm OS is still the best, I stay away from Windows as far as I can get!!

Hey Jerrysan, it is not possible to set MP3 as ringtones. You can use "minitones"(3rd party software to set mp3 as ringtones) Looks wise this phone is unbeatable. Performance wise it is horrible. I have 2 phones, both the phones hang or restart all the time.

This Treo is by far the best ever except for the lack of Wi-Fi and 3G. The camera is not a big issue because most people who own this phone don't take pictures that often. This phone is 100 times better than the Treo 750 with Windows Mobile! I owned a treo 650 and the Treo 680 is much lighter, thinner, and a better form factor in general (especially without that antenna). Also the battery issue can be fixed a bit with the updates from palm or just buy the extend battery. Oh and the "Reply with Text" function is just so helpful when you are in class.It also has way more memory than the Treo 650 (a bit more than the 750). Go Palm!!

Got a Palm 650 & happy with it except for lousy reception. Even though it isa great unit if I cannot recieve calls in my own home, in a strong signal area, its useless. Any comments from 680 users as to reception. The other option is to go to Windows OS but I am concerned as to transferring all my data.

have you installed any applications on it? It could be that there's a program that's causing a kind of disruption when you hotsync. if you only hotsync for backup purposes, you can also try "nvbackup" it's free and you don't need to be around a computer to backup.

Go to the Palm Website and download the Exchange Active Sync update. There is also a Balckberry update. As of now, I don't need to sync with my Exchange server to get email, emails are pushed directly to the phone as soon as they arrive on your exchange server. In addition , I've also noticed that this feature works so well, that emails get to the phone before my Inbox.

this phone has a good design and a good memory. almost perfect. almost because the bad thing with this phone is the battery life. u can install everythng you like that is supported by palm os, however, how can use all apps if you dont have enough battery power. you must charge this guy everyday. i dont know why they didnt put 1800mA battery instead of 1200mA. 600mA power means a lot. compare to the 650, this is weaker when you are talking to the battery issues. other than than, this is cool.it hangs sometimes but not always. u can install tweaks if you like. thanks

we need more details is your phone charged? if it is, then removing the battery and putting it back in should reset it (soft reset). If you need more info about reseting google palm treo 680 - soft reset, hard reset etc...and check out other forums like brighthand.com, treocentral.com etc...

The people that complain about these phones do they actually do nay research to figure out the real problem? Remember, YOU BOUGHT A PDA, not just a cell phone. Most PDA have their flaws and this phone has a few. I think it's quite good. The battery life was an issue, but downloading the camera update, discharging the battery and letting it charge for a straight 4 to 6 hrs did the trick; my 680 now goes a full 3 days without a recharge. My phone sometimes freezes, but you know what...I'm willing to live with it considering all the great features I have. RINGO is the MP3 ringtone software.

Yes, It supports up to 4 GB. Larger capacities depend on manufacturers. FAT32 Driver for Palm OS can make you read (Not write) larger than 4GB Cards. FAT16 File system is recomended in this case.

For your MP3 question, go to this site: and click on the text: Mini Tones. It is free and it is easy to use. It also allow you to cut the file to smaller size. The only problem with addtional ringtones is you have to make sure your MP3 file is CBR, not VBR (constant bit rate vs variable bit rate). And for the person who said this phone can't be used with stereo bluetooth headseat, I think you are wrong? I have a Motorola bluetooth DJ headset (model S805) and it is working fine). I have had the 650. Now i've bought the 680 en it is much better besides the battery. More memory, internetpages are dowloading faster, the screen is better, less resets. For the battery you can buy KB LightsOff en download the camera update. No battery problems any more.

This is the worst Treo ever, has a terible battery life and is almost identical to the Treo 650 in specs. If you want a Palm OS PDA get the Treo 650, if you want a Windows Moble PDA get the Treo 750.

nid to clarify some issues from some comments other made.. 1st..the batt is not weak..it the same batt for 750v as well and it work perfectly fine in it, so in conclusion, its the fone which dried up the batt so quickly.. 2nd...like 650v, 680v doesnt haf wifi initially but eventually 650 is enable wif wifi now hence i believe that 680 has a very high possibility of hafing wifi as well... So if there is any more questions plz feel free to raise it up...cheers for palm users!!

I�ve been testing this phone for about 3 weeks and has a lot of weak points. The batery don�t last more than a day, if you try to use the EAS the push function works great but the attached files makes the phone reset every time you try to download a file. In resume this is a great hardware but the software and the lack of WiFi makes it a second choice over a Windows Mobile smartphone

do you guys notice that LED above the screen of your treo680? I usually didnt,cuz it had no significant functionality.Palm supposedly had it on the 680 model only for several reasons: showing that your treo is out of coverage area (blink red) and when your treo is fully charged (solid green) (and usually fully charged meant 98%, lol). If you are only getting 1 day from your battery...in addition to turning off bluetooth/IR, try disabling the option to "automatically set date and time". That buggy option really drains the battery. After turning off the autoupdate option, I still have about 80% battery left after about 20 hours of light usage.

Got my 680 a few days ago. It has been running for about 36 hours since the first full charge. Still have about 50% power remaining with light talking and some SMS. Keep in mind I dimmed the screen a bit because I found the default to be too bright. Obviously I won't get anywhere near the advertised 300 hours of standby...but so far battery life seems OK.

I received mine two days ago. With normal usage, battery lasted a little less than one day w/c I think is poor. I looked at the site containing battery fix (camera update)and it says that units purchased before 1/18/07 should install the update. And based on the unit's serial number, it also says that the update is not necessary. So I'm not sure if my unit already has the camera update or not. Based on the CameraLib-camL version, I do not have v.3.1. Should I run the update? Or should I wait for a few more days before battery performance improves (as what is mentinoed in some of the postings here)?

I have a Palmm Treo 680 and I've downloaded and converted songs to use as my ring tones. I've set certain songs for certain callers however, these songs don't play when the phone rings. It plays a song that I don't have set anywhere. Can anyone help? Also, when I'm on a call and the phone rings, I do get the beep sound indicating a call coming in however it also rings! This hurts! Miss_c, it should be a good phone. Documents to go settled the syncronic problem off cause it still do not such good like window. Email sync also better much then 650. But, it will will some inconvineance then 650 as below: 1. Do not have disconnect menu in versa mail, after u done the down load, u have to go to pref, network, and disconnect.. its quite truoblesome// 2. this is terible, after down load email, we can't able to down load again in desktop.. confirmed with palm, this is not setting problem, this is the original.. 3. Battery so so ok.. 4. size is ok for me. if u don't mind for bigger size then it should be ok..

I bought the phone in the first day of availability (November 23rd 2006) from Palm internet site for my travel abroad _ I used it for about 4 weeks abroad during the holidays _ the battery life improved gradually with day by day use _ I got to the point now where the battery holds almost two days of heavy usage of PDA & phone _ I charged the phone yesterday and keeping it in stand by mode with no kind of usage it consumed only 5% of the battery after almost 20 hours. I think it is critical to expose the battery to everyday discharging cycles (by normally using the phone) and charge it as often as one can _ it will eventually work in few weeks. The phone is great (had no problems after 4 weeks of usage) and similar to 650 that I curently use with another provider. Hope it helps...

Seems everybody complain about battery than anything else. Shorter battery life is really a frustrating thing for every pda user. Even though u buy a spare battery of the same capacity it is still frustrating. Just the same as me with samsung i320. Samsung even provided a small spare 'battery charging box' to charge the battery separately. I gave up using i320. Because i can't get a bigger battery. But p990i is not the same story. Its battery life was very short during first week of use, but 2 weeks later i found the battery life increase considerably. It couldnt last for a day, but now, it last for 2 days of very heavy uses! Sounds a bit strange. Yes, it takes about 2 weeks for the battery to become normal. This is my experience with p990i only. My n93's battery was very good right from the day i bought it, it last for 2 days. Better go to some online forum like treonaut or brighthand, etc for some advice on 680's battery issue. They recommend to do a in-cradle soft-reset(or maybe warm reset) and perform some complete battery-recharge-discharge for a couple of times, and wait for 2 weeks and see what happen. Dont rush to return it to palm. Sometimes but not always, battery needs to be charged and discharged for some time before it can become normal, but its not recommended by experts. Anyway, who cares, as long as the battery can be longer we can do anything to make it happen. The worst thing is to buy a extended 2400mhz battery from seidio, if u dont mind that it gets a bit fatter. Usually the worst thing is that u can't get a bigger battery. Now that we can get it, why complain? Real treo power fans like me will only care about the real functionalities, rather than fatter body. it doesnt worry me much about the fatter bottom as long as i can keep 680 well and running. Maybe its the problem of the battery meter software inside 680. And make sure after using camera do a soft reset. And IR off, bluetooth off, backlight set to as low as possible, etc, to save battery. Hope rom update will fix these issues. Always resort to online forums will solve ur problem sometimes. Hope u enjoy.

Rachel, to customize your ringtones and set MP3 ringtones, you have to buy RINGO PRO, a useful software. How much? About 20-30 U$S dollars. I've bought it, but I had one problem since installation: my Treo 650 turned off and on by its own way. I'm really enjoying my Palm 680 a replacement to my 600. My only disappointment is that my Palm is not compatible with SKYPE. Is there a way to benefit from SKYPE that anyone can share with the rest of us?

i sold my 650,wanna get a 750 soon.the reason is simply just i cant forget my 650's easy use and best keyb,design,screen.to be frank,i still wanna go back to palmos.have tried every every mobile platform so far.i will use styletap on 750v to run palmos apps!!please anybody tell me if 680 support wap pages!if it does i will buy it after 750v!many of us switch to win5,but we never forget palm.do we?

Great colour touch screen and quad band GSM. as always has Palm's easy to use menu system with none of the "are you sure" (as found on WM5). Compared to the 650 it is not really much of a change, though it is certainly improved in most areas. The SD card now has it's own slot and won't fall out. Bluetooth is V1.2. Ease of use has always been Palm's selling point and it still is - the diary, email and phonebook are all simple and effective to use. On the down side the camera is still unacceptable - should be at least a 2M pix or better still just don't fit one and have WiFI instead. Lack of 3G can also be an issue, though at least the battery life will be good as it doesn't have 3G. Compared to the competition it wins hands down on ease of use, you just have to wonder why it's been launched (though glad to still have Palm O/S) as the Treo 650 is virtually the same..

The Palm 680 one piece design is ideal palm size with ease of operation - direct access convenience. The spec is quite obsolete inspite of good technology readily available in the market. Despite all their technological shortcomings, in a few very critical ways PalmOS Treo's are still the best smartphones period: Best form factor per function (there is no better QWERTY/display/touchscreen combo out there), most usable OS (sorry WinMob, despite better tech under the hood, you are a buggy piece of crashy, frustrating garbage up front), and best office editing (MS' own office apps suck compared to Docs to Go). Even without WiFi or a kick-ass camera, this is still the phone to beat.

So many love to bash Palm OS who have minimal experience with a Treo. Just returned from a month in Turkey, Greek Isles, Greece & Italy. My old 600 was on constantly - not one reset. 100% reliable in telecons, text messaging, listening to MP3, doing daily crosswords, checking schedules and reservations,reading e-books, editing some Word docs and emailing, etc. The only thing revealed was that the wireless coverage in the US stinks in comparison to what I had available everyplace on our trip. The 680 looks appealing to me with a better screen, more memory, EDGE and most important a Palm OS.

Treo 680/750 is adsolutely obsolete in spec as compare to O2 trion/Dopod 838/HTC tytn. It's soon worthless value for money. The 680 has four impressive cosmetic colors to fool new buyers, but practical requirement is what market wants, I think Palm is living on past glory trying to sell cheap spec for high price!

Answer to Jason: You have to realize what you need it for. I've seen enough people that buys smartphones cause its the "IN" thing to get. Most of them dont even have a clue on how to use their phones to their advantage. You will experience crashes, no matter which smartphone you have. A major reason would be software that conflicts with other software installed in your phone. So always be careful installing 3rd party applications. Speaking of 3rd party applications, palm has the most support for 3rd party applications since it's been around since the first palm pilot. Although, Windows Mobile is gaining popularity - so its a matter of time before it catches up for applications. If your primary use is E-mail, then the blackberry hands down for ease of use and its blackberry connect. BUT, if you want a phone that would be capable of doing almost everything and any Windows Mobile or Palm OS would suffice your needs. Answer to Nite: Reason why you see a lot of resets with treo's (your words) is because most of the owners doesn't know how to properly configure their Treo's to their advantage. They just load 3rd party applications w/o thinking through and wonder why they experience a lot of resets.

if i were to compare this to the E62, the E62 wins hands down. not only does it have the blackberry push, it also gets more for the durability since the lack of a touch screen. all and all i would never get a treo just because i see them crash too much to be useful.

A lot of people are comparing this to the highest-end smartphones, but its definitely entry-level. A good comparison for the Treo 680 would be the Nokia E62, which is the circumstance I find myself in. Which is the better phone?

hi,Dude,i got a p990 as well as 650,but u dont know that its expandability is none at all.but i agree that it integrate everything in a tight and light handset.but u can only do things with ur builtin apps,and no more!while ur treo function is limited but u can install hundreds of apps(most r free) to make it even more powerful than p990.its interface is much harder to use and get use to than 650!

The new Palm 680 may try to capture new entry PDA customers but are ignorance of the existing enormous Palm OS 650 customers base who expected to be upgraded too. The Palm loyalist may simply switch to O2 Cosmo or HTC S620 with better up to date spec e.g. Wi-Fi etc. Incidentally HTC manufactured for Palm 680 yet Palm choose obsolete spec. They could have get two big birds with one stone, now they needed two stones to get one tiny bird. I would not choose 680 with my money!

You know guys I didn't change my treo 650 for another one like this... many friends already changing to P990 but, I didn't like at all. first of all not user firendly like treo but, unfortunatelly my treo become dinosour, is it going to extinction. I am thinking N95 or P990 for now...

i still have my nokia n93, a piece of rubbish, sitting inside the drawer. the lack of qwerty keyboard and touch screen just doesnt work for me ever after i used treo 650. and the noisy picures and defective autofocus. my p990 took its place completely now. i can only hope 680 will be up to palm's usually standards and replace my p990. but it won't be easy. no phone is perfect at the moment.

my nearly 2 year old treo 650 is still attractive to me, to be honest. i bought a sony p990 for a bit more than a week now, i can say i can be able do just about everything on it, including many functions that treo cant do, such as wap browsing, fm radio, 3g calling, i dont really need wifi coz wifi connection is so limited range and limited freedom, while gprs and 3G range is everywhere access and absolute freedom . but symbian uiq interface is not as easy to use as palmos, sometimes i get confused. actually, sony p990 is for those who want everything integrated into one tidy package and those who doesnt want anything else except builtin apps. its expandability is very very poor, only got 1700 software on the market for uiq 3, while palmos got 28000 softwares avalible and many of them are free such as a 'noah dictionary pro' which is a very complete package of dictionary for palmos,its worth more $25! symbian sony p990 is actually for normal user while palmos is for very very power users, simply because its very highly expandable capability with hundreds of softwares. no bluetooth stereo no worries,get a softick bluetooth audio gateway installed. no fm radio no worries,get a separate fm radio. no 3g no worries, who use video call everyday?who care about freedom more than speed! palm treo is not a phone , its actually a data centric device with builtin voice function! with uiq u cant do more than builtin apps. with palmos u can do every thing. still want my treo 650 back, its so sexy. looking forward to the release of this 680. i will buy one to fill in the gap between my 650 and p990 anyway.

Since "Everthing" phones seem to be the next way technology is going, why not take advantage of this and start creating color phones with low end specs, for thoes who just have to have the latest and greatest toy. Not saying Treos are toys, but someone may adopt these color Treos as the next Sidekick killer! lol

this phone's advantage over 650 is faster bluetooth 1.2 and 60 mb memory, and slightly improved os and maybe native support for bluetooth stereo music(treo650 user can download softick bluetooth audio gateway A2DP profile software from its website,no worry at all mates!). camera stays the same, but who can trust those crappy phone cameras in most phones now, only those dummy do.and the same screen , which is very good for movies(u guys have to get a video converter called WINAVI, then go to www.serials.ws to get its serials key.once u get it u open the software and convert the video at this setting:fixed 320x240 resolution or a bit higher[higher resolution will result in jerky unsmooth movie], 30 frame per second,xvid format[inside avi format],video bit rate is 380 or 580 or 760, by this way u can have smooth 1.5 hour movie which only occupy small amount of memory like 600mb to 1gb) .and the issue of how to turn off the backlight automatically with screen still on, u have to download software like DIMMER and POWERON, both paid software,try them out first..not much for me here, as a existing 650 user, but i think this time palm will reduce the price to make it more appeal to mass normal consumer market rather than organisational business market,because of its low end specifications, hence less cost involved for palm and more sales and get more customer awareness, and more chances to show it on some amereican movies and give it away for free to some famous celebrities. currently, still not many people in new zealand and many other country know about treo.im so happy to know that the new windows treo 750 has very short of supply from vodafone in europe in the first week, no matter vodafone already done a big order from palm.its ranked the best selling phone by vodafone itself.still there are so many people out there are interested in treo at this stage, not hp 6500,haha.i used windows 5.0, not really a fan of it. if palm os got the same function as windows and symbian, i still stick with palm os though, because its easy to use interface and easy to get thousands of commercial softwares for free at i-phone forum website and www.serials.ws windows and symbian users can get some but not as easier as palmos , and UIQ 3 can get none software for free .i hope palm will improve the durability of the keyboard, coz 650's keyboard is not durable at all but still very usable for me, a mad txter. i hope palm will put the same quality screen as 650's, bright and very touch sensitive. its got a wap brower as well, good on palm, along with java midp 2.0 , not bad! tell u what, i still prefer palm over windows, partly because of the perfect screen,the best one to watch movie, and the easy to use interface, while windows is too slow, like symbian s60 and UIQ 3. i wish next year palm treo 800 will integrate everything that sony p990 has, such as fm radio,wifi,3g,videocam,usable camera(who use camera everyday?),durable keyboard and buttons(we really use keyboard everyday for writing txting and notes and important event ,right?),multitasking,less frequent crash,keeping the same traditinal slightly improved treo design which has won millions of treonauts hearted approval,keeping the same VGA screen and layout of keyboard,longer battery life but smaller battery size, maybe with Access linux platform(jesus!i cant wait to see its release!) built in with palm os emulator(and built in multitasking capability!,great!),until then this dream treo800 phone will again be the best of the best smartphone on this planet,palm's sale will be sky rocketing again. we pray.......haliluha.....(im not christian.haha!)

Palm are making a big mistake launching this in Europe, where even low end phones include a 1.3MP camera, mid range a 2MP and the latest popular phones, 3MP (K800i, N80 etc). In the US, most phones still ship with low end cameras, and so the Treo 680 may well do well with the younger crowd over there, but I predict it will fail in Europe until Palm launch a similar device with at least a 2MP autofocus camera and WiFi. Where they may do well in Europe is pitching it against the Blackberry, where a camera is not the key value proposition. (The design of the 680 is lovel by the way, keyboard looks nice too!) I'm going to get a P990i, suffer is flaws, and then get what does not exist but is no doubt on the drawing board at Apple, Palm and/or SE for 2007.

yeeeeeeeeee! palm os is still alive! this long awaited phone finnally emerged after 700p.not very recommended to existing 650 user though,.to be honest i still prefer the protruding antenna, which made it like a normal phone, while this one here looks a bit wierd to me. i owned tungsten e2, then treo650,then imate kjam,then nokia n93,then sony p990#. nearly all pda platforms.now,still love my 650.

i got a treo 650, and its amazing. you people can install a software call PALM VNC and WIN HAND, they are for browsing windows xp interface on your treo. you can install softick audio bluetooth gateway for bluetooth music on treo 650. i still love my treo. i got a sony p990 3 days ago, and its advantages over treo is fm radio,wi,wap browser,usable camera. its keyboard is much smaller than treo! and uiq interface is not very easy to use at all, while treo is so easy to use and navigate! and its battery is short compared to my 650, only 950 mhz, while my 650 got 1600mhz. but i still love my 650's screen , its so bright and high resolution, especially good for watching movies,i dont know how many movies i ve aready watched on it, while p990 screen glares to my eyes at any angle especially when screen is black, and the screen can reflect anything including my face!!
