Panasonic MX7 - User Reviews

  • I still have this phone and the battery lasts still 1-2 weeks depending on the usage. I love it!

  • Llllllllllllllllove it............

  • buying a new battery can be a problem, i agree! but, even with a few years of use, my mx7 still having almost the same battery power as before. still AMAZING! i only charge it every 10 days! only its size and weight is to much!

  • All Panasonics from SA,VS 2 to MX,SA,VS 7 are days before yesterday. You can't buy eb-bs002 1620mAh now. Just forget about it.

  • All Panasonics from SA,VS 2 to MX,SA,VS 7 are days before yesterday. You can't buy eb-bs002 1620mAh now. Just forget about it.

  • panasonic still does phones, but....only in japan!!such a pity, i agree! very reliable phones! and this MX7 battery life....WOW! and pitcure quality...amazing, even being only a 2MP camera

  • Such a pity. Never had a problem with Panasonics. Excellent mobile phones all round. Good call quality guaranteed unlike Nokia..... lousy call quality guaranteed. Very much a pity they stop making them. I still use my GD92 and GD75. I just can't handle the terrible call quality of these gimmicky nokia phones today.

  • am wanting this mx7 it good and frist in network coveage

  • will i get it

  • FANTASTIC phone!! i still have mine and still use it, and...still AMAZING!! great pictures i take with it!! one of the best phones i ever had!! i will keep it forever!! great battery life, and great screen! java games...IMPRESSIVE!!EXCELLENT!!

  • the display is terrific! does panasonic still produce cellphones in Japan? Please give me an answer. i don't know why panasonic doesn't produce cellphones in my country?

  • Don't make yourself tired kid ! Entering panasonic with Nokia and SE in comparison?!! Are you kidding ?

  • cool as! my dad is gonna get me 1 lol. i reckon its good it has a bluetooth!! GO PANASONIC!!!!!!!! PANASONIC RULES!!!!

  • ohh goss.. why panasonic stop making there gsm products? know that panasonic can make best mobile. there have too many model like foma music phone in japan.. but they didt make for other country.. we r extremly waiting for they new cell ph.. PANASONIC WHATS HAPPEND TO U

  • FOR ALL PANASONIC'S FANS: Jan. 31/2007 Panasonic just announced an update to popular TZ1 camera. The new TZ3 is coming soon! While keeping the same great 10x Optical Zoom and features, it adds: -Larger lcd screan (3.0 inch polycristal) -Is thinner by 3mm ( TZ1= 40mm, TZ3=37mm) -Will have less noise comparing to slightly noisy (in low light conditions only) but otherwise perfect TZ1! PANASONIC: Ideas for life!

  • 860 hours!!!!!! have you ever heard smth like that? unbelievable. unhappily there`s no memory card...

  • Does the file transfer limit apply to data cable transfers as well as I'll consider using this method once I get this phone. If the limit applies to data cable transfers as well then I see no point. If the limit doesn't apply to data cable transfers then that'll be useful for me. I look forward to hearing your results on this.

  • MX7 music problem require help please! media folder/stored sounds/.mmf format 15kb or less. i use data cable to download music (mp3 converted to wave) stored in new folder in media, size is 320kb go to play or use as ring tone and mss says "content to large" its just a normal song ive downloaded, ive tried about 5 songs and all wont play so cant use as ring tone, what am i doing wrong? or can some one please direct me, thanks. very frustrated mx7 owner.

  • Well, the rumour is right. It can't transfer a file over 1MB. But, I still love it ^^"

  • is it true about the rumour that we can only transfer less than 1MB via bluetooth and usb?? thanks for ur answer...

  • I hate to sound dtupid but I'd like you guys to checkout a rumour my friend told me about this phone. The rumour I've heard is this:The data transfer limit is 1MB on this phone when transferred via infra-red and bluetooth (and may also apply to transfers made via the data cable for this phone).I'd also like to know whether this phone comes with a data transfer cable as standard or not. By the way I raelly like this phone overall.

  • Greate phone! Finally a phone that looks like a phone! We need more of these male phones! I'm tired of all new girlish Samsung , Sony and now Nokia joining them, crappy phones! What's the point of Bluetooth in those thin phones if the batterry cannot handle it?! MOTOROLA's and Samsung's phylosofy: We need to make these new phones so stupidly thin, to the point when you can't hold the phone normally in your hand, to the point when we cannot fit more than 100 or 300 mAh battery into the phone, to the point when your phone will break from the first time falling down! And also to the point when the phone will not be able to dial a phone call!

  • TO MAT: 1)The band setting is usually in networking menu of the phone (that's how it was on my Panasonic x300 at least). 2)If you are in Cingulars's 850mhz zone (usually in very small towns or rural areas) Panasonic will not work there ( MX7 doesn't have 850 frequency) 3)In case you find out that you are in Cingular's 850 area, break the contract with them and go for T-Mobile! 4)Finally , I'm glad that you made the right choice and have chosen mature and durable MX7 model. It has everything to its high capacity: 16M colors and Bluetooth which both need 1660 mah batterry to handle its functions!

  • I have been using this phone for more than 5 months and I am totally satisfied. I have made some test how long the battery lasts: On average using energy saving settings (key light off, backlight min. etc.) I could use it for ca. 12-14 days whith a call duration of ca. 5-6 hours in this period. I think it's outstanding compared to other phones. My only 3 problems with it: 1. it doesn't recognize Nokia's business cards, although the information comes through 2. it's not possible to delete contact from the SIM card (I had to use another phone for that) 3. the 1MB limit for file transfer

  • How do you change the band on this phone. I have Cingular, and cannot set it up properly. Cannot get the web browser to work and cannot get it on the cingular net. it just says its roaming!?

  • Yeah. Can this phone (MX7) change faceplate just like VS7 ?

  • I just bought this phone. I use to have the Gu87 and I loveeeeeed it, had it for 3 years and in the last week it started getting 0 reception. I bought the Mx7 and so far I like it. Let me tell you, this phone is HUGE, i put it next to my friends razor and it is twice the size of it (width) I will keep playing with it and report back, but so far, my only gripe is the size.

  • SOURSE: $222 GO PANASONIC!!!! Bring the over priced megapixel junk from Nokia , Sony and Samsung down!

  • PRICE UPDATE: Panasonic MX7 Triband GSM Phone (Factory Unlocked) Code:10024 Price:$222.00 Available for immediate delivery! NOTE: This is the normal price fo 2mp sensor!

  • Guys i will have this phone within 3 days, just payed for it.. If you want email me with your queries and i will endevour to answer them as quickly as possible! Cheers Dave

  • Where can I buy it? only on ebay? Does this MX7 only have English version? or have traditional Chinese version, too? Thank you very much.

  • how loud is the ringtone on this?

  • hi...i'd like to ask about the MP3 how much space does it have for the mp3??? is it just mp3 ringtones its talkin about, or like REALLY MP3...u can listen to with earphones... thxs

  • does anyone that has used or currently owns a panasonic mx7 know whether one can select in the menu of this phone between phone memory in use of sim memory? can one copy contacts from sim to phone memory and then select that only the phone memory be used? thx.

  • can someone put a link where I can see photos taken with mx7?

  • Battery life

  • What is the difference between the MX and the VS version ? They look the same to me.

  • my friend has this model when i saw the screen i said "WOW" my nokia 6630's screen kinda look like 65k only when compared side by side! one of the drawbacks of MX7 is that it does not have mem expansion and FM radio otherwise superb phone especially the macro mode, it is really working, you can read texts printed on a newspaper taken with the 2mpx camera! and besides my friend's cel last around a whooping 4-7 days of normal usage, excellent battery! panasonic hurry up on re-constructing ur mobile org and announce excellent 3G phones very soon! speaking of that, i just hope that "P901iTV" also becomes available outside of Japan so we can enjoy analog TV broadcasts (which means FREE local TV watching)!

  • i use my phone for at least an hour and a half of striaght talk time a day, and i often use the camera, or play with it and it lasts about a week. i usually kill my motorola phone in 2 days, so my mx is pretty good i'd say.

  • i want to ask about the battery, how many days is standby, real?also i want to ask have this telepfone, memory slot and how much does it cost?thanks for answers!!bye

  • is the VS 6-7 and MX 6-7 mp3 capacity per file only up to 1 m b? please reply to this rumour from my brother to clarify my doubts

  • I tot MX7 has a mini card slot? that's y the thickness is 26mm

  • I fall off my chair when I saw that the phonespec... over 800 stand by time!

  • i love panasonic mobiles. they're just so right. i currently own a sa6 and i am very happy with it. and this one, the mx7, is one heck of a phone. the only thing missing on it was a memory card slot. that would have really made this into a mean machine. i'm just so sorry pana has decided ti stop it's production of mobiles. i mean, i am sick of overpriced nokias and samsungs. also, the battery life is absolutely astonishing, not to mention the screen quality.

  • this could have better sales if it had mini SD slot and auto focus function on camera! i know panasonic can do it, i just dont know y dey didn't! Panasonic P505iS has memory expansion slot and was available way back last Nov 2003, and as far as i know it's the first mobile phone to have auto-focus function not to mention it has CCD sensor! mind you it has QVGA display already even way back then, so i don't really see d point y panasonic has sorted to come up with the V, SA & MX series that does not have an expansion for memory. (good work on the battery though) here's the link. bad news (well at least for panasonic fans) for the time being but in the very near future (i hope this year) panasonic mobile will be much better! please see below.. panasonic has closed a number of their major plants that manufactures (2.5 G) GSM mobile handsets around the world and going forward to reorganized overseas mobile operations and concentrate mainly on 3G handsets with Linux based OS! as a result, (if i remember correctly) soon they will not be a series60 licensee anymore, meaning they may no longer make handsets based on symbian OS like the excellently designed X700 in the future.. reasons said were due to severe global competition. here's the full story: some more about panasonic using linux OS:

  • Anyone else disappointed with the earpiece clarity on the phone? When I raise the volume clarity seems to dimish. Plus, if there is any background noise, it is really difficult to hear.

  • I would love a comment on the battery life. How long does it really last? I am looking for the longest lasting phone on the market. I hate recharging.

  • Akira....I called my service provider (Tmobile) and they also could not tell me why this was happening. Are you able to clear it or must you shut down the phone and restart? CG

  • This is for Kelly. Just type the brand and model phone you are looking for in the seach bar. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. Remember to call before buying.

  • This message is for kelly, here are some wedsites that might help you find the phone. But before you buy call to make sure it'a available. plemix.com mobilebee.com starlinwireless.com

  • Just a comment regarding the message when calling voice mail. I get the exact same thing.I called my service provider and they could not tell me why it was happening. Does anybody have any idea why it happends?

  • I've got this phone and its awesome. But I have one problem that, perhaps, someone out there can help with. Whenever I get a voicemail or if I call my voicemail, I receive a message symbol in the shape of a closed envelope. I dont' get the typical "reel-tape" symbol. Once I get this symbol, the only way to get rid of it is to shut off the phone or to send an SMS. I use Tmobile in America which does not offically support the phone. Any thoughts on how to deal with this annoyance???? Thanks!!

  • is the pictures whoes shot with camera are good rezolution, havent pixells?from when may i buy this phone, somebody bye this phone secound hand?how days is the battery standby, and talk hours?

  • Suprimo phone, except for it doesn't have external memory and the casual buttons design. It will be the best phone if it has external memory and it has siemens S75's button designo.

  • What's the real difference between this phone and SA7? This one is four grams heavier, is that all? Is the battery in this phone more lasting? No specs about that can be found either at panasonicmobile or gsmarena. And what about the construction of the phones, is the "sporty" SA7 more endurable in taking of hits/shocks? Please help, if you know. And shame on you panasonic (albeit the good new phones), in that you cannot offer understandable explanation anywhere about how the MX7 and SA7 differ from each other. You're just loosing one, would-have-been purchaser...

  • To the person below complaining about the earpiece.... I've found that because the screen's so long, people put their ear too low to the phone. It really takes some getting used to.

  • Set the band on 1900 only and uncheck auto search/select provider, look for Cingular yourself and select it my friend, right now u got it on tri-band and searching... cingular tech support SUCKS and it closes at 9pm .. :) - be careful since Cincular roaming charges are CRAZY!!!....

  • I just bought this phone. and i live in the US. i have cingular. the phone says imm roaming even though im in my covered region. is anyone else having this problem? or is it just me.

  • i wouldnt consider 8mm slightly thicker.. thats quite a difference

  • For those who are wondering, the only difference between the VS7 and MX7 is the battery life. MX7 has double the battery life of the VS7, but as a result, it is slightly thicker (The battery sticks out a little more). Also, the VS7 comes with a glossy, clear plastic face plate, while the MX7 has a kind of rubbery, mat finish (much of like the V300). features, everything is exactly the same.

  • The primary purpose of a phone being communication, DO NOT BUY THIS BAUBLE! The earpiece is insufficent, Conversants reported my voice being distorted, Calls in areas of known and proven coverage were dropped. Also the software is counter-intuitive. The screen is soo pretty, it is a true shame that this POS is going back to the vendor.

  • i've had this phone for about 3 weeks now and i've really taken a liking to it. no, there's no expandable memory, but personally that's not a big deal. the battery life is amazing. it tends to last me 2 weeks or so with a fair amount of use, and on standby i don't doubt it'd last all month. that said, there are downsides to this phone. it's quite thick because of the extra capacity battery. but then, compare dimensions with something like the philips xenium 9@9e, and it's about the same--that's just how it's gotta be for long battery life at this point. you can always fall back on the vs7 if you don't like this. the other major detractor is the ring volume. oddly enough, the built-in ringtones are very loud. but my own custom mp3 ringtones are very soft. it's easy enough to miss in loud environments that i use vibrate + ring so that i don't miss the call. other than that, this phone is worth its price. it doesn't break the bank, and the kit comes with an earpiece (wired) and a usb cable + software cd. the keys are on the small side, but not so bad that they're difficult to hit. its design also deserves mention, it has the looks of a jphone: very understated, but sleek and solidly constructed. even when i've had friends complain about the size, they do pick it up for a good look anyway because its looks are unique here in north america. and to date, i've not heard one person say it's ugly. the same can't be said of the reams of lg, sony and samsung phones out there flooding the na market.

  • It shall be a perfect phone if they add expansion memory.

  • Lolx....look at the battery...Mx7 can last longer than Vs7...and it is fatter than Vs7...

  • the difference is the battery life!!!

  • MX7, VS7, what's really the difference...? I was comparing both phone and cant really see a difference except MX is $10 more than VS7 >.>||| Come on, Panasonic, give your phone a memory card slot and make life easier! >_

  • No memory card slot, no fm radio, 2,5" display size 16m color without touchscreen????? It's not good!!! Zero point! I don't want to buy it!! I prefer Sony Ericsson phones, my S700i hits that!

  • To those that have this phone, how many days does the battery really last when used normally?

  • how i wish panasonic would read this and create a phone very soon with the same GREAT features but with higher memory and SD slot... really love its features but unhappy with the memory. you can't do much!!!

  • here in italy the phone is not available so i had to buy in taiwan...i d'like to know if supports other language excluding english, like italian? thanks a lot. best regards.

  • i just got the mx7 and i love it. all the features on it are perfect. a lot of people been asking about the phone if it has a sd card slot. well it doesn't. i wish it did but oh well. i still like the phone a lot. the screen and the camera are awesome.

  • This would be a near perfect phone, but the lack of a card slot makes in not perfect... bummer, everything else is very good, but without a card slot... well, its very average.

  • Quote Larry: Seems panasonic had a change of heart...there is going to be a slot when it comes out. It's on their site. ______________________ Can you post a link? I can not find any information supporting that claim.

  • philips 9@9e batery is 1100mah,panasonic batery is 1660mah...may i know which 1 batery stand by more longer????thank you

  • I'm getting really pissed off now! Everyone keeps repeating: No Card Slot, No Card Slot, No Card Slot, No Card Slot, No Card Slot. I'LL REPEAT!: THERE IS NO NEED FOR A CARD SLOT! This is not a professional digital camera with optical zoom. To store 30 photos is enough for this beautiful and advenced phone! MX6-PROS: -The best quality screen of all cell. phones! -The best quality of ring tones (and very loud)! -The best earpiece sound quality! -The best batterry life! WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED? Maybe a compass? (like a stupid Nokia 5140 hgot one)

  • good phone but no card slot? what a shame...

  • MX7 or VS7 are not made available in Europe (yet or will never be). Does the phone supports European languages like French, Dutch, or German, or only English? I can buy them in the US but I want the use the internal dictionary with T9 function in my own language (Dutch)...

  • Thank you- GSM Arena for correcting this little mistake and letting the users know that MX7 is now in stores. That's the type of costumer service we have longed for. I also hope we can get a review of SA7 OR MX7 models (including of course Camera review) To me SA7 and MX7 are the most beautiful phones and of a very high quality (could be seen very well from Panasonic's website). Sincerely yours: Larry

  • Seems panasonic had a change of heart...there is going to be a slot when it comes out. It's on their site.

  • Yes. It doesn't have miniSD slot.

  • I would have waited for this phone if it has a card slot... I felt that a phone with MP3 player but with no card slot is useless, might as well not including the mp3 player... What was panasonic thinking??

  • hey guy...do u all find out that gsmarena have change a bit in card slot there...no more card slot already..check it out....peace

  • isn't the miniSD slot is only assumption on rumours from one site, then taken by others, and others, and so on ? from their coming product page, Panasonic didn't mention the memory expansion slot.

  • It seems they change the specs again... No card slot... Panasonic is stupid

  • This model does have the minisd expansion. Stop spreading false rumors!

  • Wow, 16m screen? I take it thats 16 million colours. gota be a good'n

  • Seriously this is a very good and well designed phone but if they add in FM Radio it will be a perfect phone in the market. So i hope Panasonic will launch this phone asap. SO i can get one of it and show it off. HaHa !

  • has this got a video player? like mp4 or avi or anything thanks

  • it is said they have an extension adapter for mini SD, if any1 knows what one of those is, please post

  • Here are all the specs. Basically - all have 26MB memory, none have memory card slots! The MX7 and SA7 have bluetooth and IrDA, the VS7 only has IrDA. In exchange for this information could someone please tell me the UK release dates - or at least if I bpought these from america wud they fully function in the UK

  • for those who can read chinese --> , the mx7 do hav a memory card slot n bluetooth =)

  • The specs looks great. It'll be better if Panasonic also includes FM radio function for the MX7 for users to get in touch with news; and launch this model into the market before it is out-dated. Panasonic has the habitual tendency to be very slow in launching new models into the market.

  • the manual of vs7 says no mini sd, this phone is the same so has basically been approved by FCC, go to www.phonearena.com, it should be out late this year along with its sister phones.

  • can anybody help me? does the vs2 have a english-chinese bidirectional dict? if the vs7doesn't support miniSD, then in what way is it better than the vs2? when will the vs7 arrive in singapore? or should i not wait and get the vs2 now? thanx

  • does anyone know how the phone looks like on the inside? is it anything like the vs3 or will it be different?

  • pk,,the difference is mx7 has slighly larger cam, bluetooth and better battery life but when its due out i dont know but somebody must surly

  • so none of these phones will have sd slot? is that what u are saying?

  • MX 7 are not support mini SD even VS7 and the latest SA7 sa the same one. I'm come from HongKong that news by:

  • Nope...the VS7 will not have a miniSD slot...in fact none of the VSx series phones will have

  • the VS7 also has a SD slot though

  • in malaysai so far dun have phone can compare with this 1 ,is nice, colour powerfull, batery also stand longer hour, but the price...too expensive

  • plus the miniSD port

  • This line is different than the VS line because of the battery life, this one last almost 5 hours more in talk time

  • Can someone help me out? How is this phone different from VS7?

  • This phone looks cool can anyone tell where and when I can get it

  • does anyone know roughly when this phone will be out? i've been waiting for it so long already...thanks to anyone who can answer.

  • Oh my God!! 2,5 inch screen!!!!!!! Bigger than SE S700!! Superb! Does anyone knows the dimensions?

  • mama mia! i wish to have one of this

  • Wats with fm radio anyway, for me.. i rarely use it... ^^ coz there is something in my phone call mp3 ^^

  • no fm radio.

  • i suppose you have to have a reason why ive choosen this above all the others in this class and thats battery life & screen.but if it dos not appear in the next month im going for the xcute dv1.all the samsungs with the 240x320 260k screen are taking an age to come out thats if they emerge and there price is bound to be a premium.

  • A very good phone but no radio.

  • Does anyone know when this phone will be out..? If this isn't coming out anytime soon I think I'm gonna go with the K750!

  • 3G is UMTS, not GSM. GSM is normally non 3G, if there is both, then it is 3G phone

  • can someone tell me what is difference between 3G and GSM??? i know 3G..but what is GSM? is this phone 3G??? so sad if it is not 3G....-_- pls tell me

  • how does the OS compare to Samsung or Sony Ericsson (who also uses a proprietary OS)? i just want to know if you can download games, record video, mp3 playlists? -- or is it just a business phone?

  • no flash?

  • this phone has a proprietary OS from panasonic. like gd/gu87 may be. the lounch is in 2nd or 3th quarter...

  • this is very nice phone with a nice body&2 mp camera...can anyone know when it comes in bangladesh....iwant to buy it....

  • will this be symbian like the Panasonic X800?

  • Is this avaliable in Hong Kong?

  • Hello, can anyone tell me where or how I can get or buy the panasonic mx7 phone, I will be very greatful!!!

  • The Chips are made by other well known manufacturer that specialized in cellphone chips like the Processor that will be used 4 this model is manufactured by INFINEON and if I am not mistaken, the memory is manufactured by INTEL.

  • If it is just software problem that is fine with me. But when my cousin said it was the chips that they made have problems.... NOT SOFTWARE!!

  • aLL cell phone has a bug on their software even the latest phone of nokia has a problem. The difference of the coming MX series of panasonic is only its camera & display. They improve and add some features like MP3. Currently they are already producing X800 which is somehow similar to MX series so they already know what's probable problem they will encounter........... Battery life is very good on this phone

  • My friends and cousin who work for Panasonic in Singapore said that the newer phones that Panasonics are coming out with are going to have some sort of problems. They would not buy one it from the company even it is discounted for them!!!! Too bad, I love Panasonic phones. ;(

  • it depends on your individual liking.. tell you what's best.. why not your head down to the nearest handphone shop when all these phones become available and ask to hold and play with all the 3 phones ? by then it's not too late to decide.. u might never know judging from internet pictures and opinion from others..

  • hey,i'm in a dilema: what's should i get? the sony ericsson z800. the panasonic mx7. or the motorolla a780?? please answer me. i must know.

  • The difference between this and the vs7 is the battery life. The MX line is designed to have a longer lasting battery life than other phones. Which is always a good thing. Apart from that they're pretty much identical. Nice phones though.

  • who said vs7 has 3g abilities?? vs7 is a gsm fone

  • good

  • this phone is great hope it doesnt cost to much, and do somebody know if it will come out in sweden?

  • i was told that this phone will have 3G abilities, like the vs7...If so cant wait...oh piggy bank where are you? Is this phone also the same phone as the x800 (cause in taiwan thats what they call it, cause they have the ads running)

  • can we use mp3 as ringtone also? Does it have Built in handsfree? Does it have a stereo speaker? i also seem some difficulty in buying the panasonic accessoris in my country. Hopefully it comes with some accessoris like handsfree for example. but good job for panasonic. i am using panasonic phone right now also.

  • wow 16million colors now is it the first phone to have it, its like computer screen hahah yee go panasonic

  • i read at www.mobile-review.com that samsung d500 pictures r more better than mx7 pictures is it right?

  • It's great dat panasonic have made da fone with 2mp,but wat about the 3G feathers like push 2 talk, video streaming all dat. c'mon guys make something dat does everything and also something different.

  • Nice good and the best phone i am a very big fan of panasonic and wow panasonic provide your product all over the world.

  • Audio-bluetooth option included?

  • what's the difference between this (the mx7) and the panasonic vs7 ? Seem like pretty much the same thing to me ...

  • damn you panasonic. every time i buy your flagship phone, one month later you go one better. now i buy x700 and you announce the vs and mx series. at least this time you are going ahead of the rest and not just matching the others. my money is yours once more.

  • CCD? CMOS? if is CCD then its mine!

  • I'd appreciate any feedback. Cheers!!

  • Where can this phone be purchased and for what price? Thanx

  • WOW !!! I am a Panasonic fan, like to buy all the nice stuff, & this phone ROCKS ! does somebody know it's price & availibility, especially, in India? I believe if Panasonic launches all it's products in India, Nokia, Sony will have to think. 7 surely, in mobile phones, Panasonic will lead. I had been using Nokia, SE, Motorolla, but finally now I am using a Panasonic phone.
