Nokia 5100 - User Reviews

  • IP rating is not mentioned. I do remember that this phone was waterproof. Was able to make phonecalls when showering, try that with those new 'smart'phones of nowadays. Also don't see a thermometer etc in a lot of models these days.

  • i actually still have mine & it still works like day one...

  • This is one of the phones that I hope to run across at a yard sale one day, but I do have an Everactive Disposable Battery that I got at a yard sale for a quarter so I can test it. I like the look of the design with the duribility look to it.

  • hey bro puk means personal unblock key (for sim card). which usually appears when you enter wrong pin 3 times. if your phone is asking for PUK now then you will have to ask your SERVICE PROVIDER e.g. Airtel, docomo. they will give you an 8 digit puk after you submit your phone number to them. simply enter puk on the lock screen then your phone will ask you to choose a new pin. enter the pin you can eadily remember (you can enter 4 to 8 digits pin). then it will say you to confirm pin ,enter the same no. again and it is done. every time you switch on the phone yyou will have to enter the pin no. until you disable this feature by going into security setting of your phone (for that particular sim card).

  • i have nokia-5100 mobile, pin blocked what is the puk...anybody halp me please..my phone has ded now

  • how to get angry birds for this phone?

  • Can you say the adress

  • We still have the shell for this phone in Turkey for 15 dollars...:)

  • I got two of this one but the problem is that the shells are aged and cannot buy new one. The Chinese after-market shell is bad. I did buy three from three different suppliers. In one occasion the problem was that the small on/off switch arm inside missing, rendering the unit unusable. The other occasions the shells simply do not fit on the unit. The telephone without gimmicks of camera etc. is more user friendly than any other (have a smart phone G3 and several in between) telephone. It is too bad that Nokia does not provide the shells any longer.

  • Wonderful to see all those positive comments on a phone so old. I fully agree, I'm a happy owner since 2003. It amazes me though that Nokia hasn't build a good follow-up, which would sell great. In general only a few changes needed: - A little thinner - adding GPS - adding a reasonable camera - battery life a bit better - buttons a bit better That wouldn't be to much to ask 8 years later, would it?

  • Try to chang your mobile battery..... it will work

  • i want to buy this phone....is this phone is completely not available...?????????

  • This still the best voice quality telephone - after having about ten othres from different brand including Nokia as well - and I would use it today too but the shell got too hard and cannot use it any longer. Too bad that you cannot buy a new shell. The after-market shells are not good, some even missing the inner arm for to turn on-off the unit.

  • Wonder how you've managed to own one for ten years when it was "Announced 1Q, 2003" ...? *had it myself since that 2003* And it's clearly lived it's life, be it the decaying outer case, drained battery, or outdated software.

  • Excellent phone! After having 6 other telephones (5 Nokia), this is still the best. I wish to be able find an original outer shell!!! I did try two of the after-market but do not fit properly, and do not have similar rubber content either.

  • I have this 5100 hphone but i don't have the hausing casing. If anyone have the hausing plz inform me or call me. 60174773405. (MALAYSIA)

  • Had my 5100 for 10 years now, just a new outer case and thats it, still going strong.Just wonder if a iPhone would last 10 years? i think not

  • It looks like an alien cp :)

  • this is one of the best phones nokia has made i would like it if they can make one just like it just with extra fetures good product and if any one can find me one but it must be brand new i would like that i am looking for one best phone ever

  • easy to use and its so unique in design i love it

  • I got from 2 hand market. still work . I've been waiting for 2 years to find after using 5210. nice batterry life. but how can I get original casing since my previous one has broken and hard to find the comfort one in Ygy.

  • high in durability & one of the best of its period.

  • Most durable phone Noia ever made. Got one in 2003 and it is still used as my back up.

  • Nokia, please make 2009-2010 model. 5100 is a so great phone that I will never scrap it (even if I do not use the phone anymore). Please also do not forget Gps as in 3720 model.

  • Have the phone for about 5 years now, and it still won't break down. The only downside are the buttons, which don't work to well any more. Finally time for a new phone, but still this one I'll happily keep as my backup phone.

  • Its A great phone

  • Do you know where in Canada I can get a new battery and new charger for this phone? I HATE it by the way. The NOKIA rep who sold it to me (while I was vacationing in Denmark) promised it would work anywhere in the World. I was living and working in East Asia. Well this expensive thing sat in my trunk in Japan and South Korea for 6 years. I had to buy another phone. It does not work in those countries. I lost the charger in my travels and now 6 years after purchase, the battery is likely dead. The only time I was able to use it was for 6 months in 2005 when I was back in Canada on vacation. There is no number pad cover on the phone, so it dialed numbers on its own in my bag as I walked around. Now in 2009, merchants here tell me, it will cost less to buy a new phone than to get it going again. What a ripoff. [email protected]

  • I have this phone from when it first came out, which is a long time ago, I cant remember exactly. It still works great, with good battery life even for modern standards. What is most impressive is this phones durability, amazing, because my previous phones always died because of water damage/heavy usage etc. I have thrown it around several times to demonstrate its indestructablity to my friends, it has been to beach where many a phone find its grave due to sand, it also does not fear rain. It was pretty cutting edge for its time, its dated now obviously but if Nokia would launch a 2009 version of this I would totally buy it, like a bit thinner and add GPS and a small camera maybe.

  • My 4th Phone!! This is the first Nokia phone which i bought.. I saved all my money to buy this phone in the year 2004 and i am using it up to now without needing to change a battery!! My Battery is still working perfectly... THis is the best Phone that Nokia every made.. I Love this phone

  • bfhfdbhd

  • it also has a DB meter which measures sound.

  • looking for one asap

  • i have one of this is perfect...

  • the phone is too ruged to the extend that i use it to play football and end of the day nothing happen to it still working parfectly.

  • Cool! A thermometer!

  • this is a best best best phone, and very rare.but nokia company stopping made it,its very ugly work

  • bhjgnbfhgnfhgfbngfhgfbnhgf

  • I absolutely love this phone. Was my very first phone. Bought it especially for the radio, got the thermometer ! how great. WAS STOLEN UNFORTUNATELY.

  • i have this phone almost 5years i proud have this phone because look sporty if i bring this phone to my activity

  • I love this phone. had it 4 years and still going strong. droped it many times and thrown it to...just to prove to poeple who say its rubish that it is simple undisrubtable!! love it and all all the usefull features. cant belive they stoped making these

  • This is on of the phones I still have. It is unique in that it shows the temperature on the front display, it is a calories counter, and has a flash light at the front.. I am wondering why on earth they have not added these to the latest Nokia phones. I also love the design too. I am glad I kepted it as you can hardly find it around anymore.

  • the design of this phone is ugly.... its like a saggy rubber band...

  • hmmm, i love the phone, specially cause its so durable and its colored... but i cant seem to transfer jpg 128x128 pixels or less using an irDa from my pc, it always says invalid format or not enough space... i still have 591 kb space... and nokia pc suite 6.82 cant seem to detect 5100... can anybody help me on this??? thanks... ps if u have info on this phone, pls do email me at [email protected]... thanks

  • This is the coolest-looking phone ever made. Not everyone had this phone, and I love the rubber shells, flashlight and toughness. Everytime I see someone else use this phone (which is very rare), I end up missing my 5100. I have the 5140 (along with an N73) now and am awaiting the arrival of a 5140i, which I ordered online. The 5100's specs are outdated now, but it does the basics like texting, calling and sending mms very well.

  • For the porson who posted at 2007-05-29 12:05 QsQP The memory cannont be expanded the phone was released in 2003 at the time 725kb memory was considered the normal. Best advise UPGRADE your phone.

  • I have had this cell for the last 3 years and i'm getting a bit tired of it. Yes, it's very durable and resistant, but the keypad has become so horrible to use that I have to struggle 5 minutes to type a 3 word sms. Other than that, it's pretty good. I dropped it for tens of times and it still functions superbly. However the battery life has diminished considerably from 6-7 days to about 2 and a half. Anyway... the keypad killed it in my opinion

  • Why is the memory not larger than 725kb,when wish to download some intresting stuff on net,i forget that d memory is small. Is there any options ?

  • I hv been usin this cell for the last three years, n i ld lv to use it for comin three n more , because it is the most durable, solid, trustworty, unbreakable n i ld say wonderfull thing for me in terms of cellur technology. it suits my personality as m student n also into sports so its a gud companion for me in every field of my life.. last n least for this machine ... "Xtreamly rough n tough" n also pure manly.. lol...

  • Can someone help with this question? How can you download your phonebook from Nokia 5100 to your PC? My email address is [email protected]. Much appreciated.

  • this phone rocks, i'm an outdoor guide working with difficult youth, had this phone for 4 years, none stop in use - did not even buy a new battery yet. dropped it, knocked itr round, took it travelling around the planet - its still working fine ?:) cheers for that!!!

  • Terrible phone, the day I got it I switched it off and couldnt switch it back on,was sent for a repair, has constant freezes and you dont realise your phone isnt working very bad for business. It switch itself off once and I was near a vodafone store,3 of us tried to get it to work pulled the thing apart would not come back on I was told I needed yet another repair........15 minutes later I thought Id try and turn it back on and it actually worked, the girls in the shop couldnt believe it when I went back and showed them they thought it was a great phone and I was making up all the software stories piece of crap phone with lousy service from Nokia

  • How does the thermometer work?? Is it still available?

  • Hello can somebody tell me where the IR of this phone is what i mean is the infered port cos i can send anything to it. thanks. ollymandestiny.

  • i like d fone but where is the infared port?

  • help!!!!! i just got this phone but i dont no how to put the sim in plz help tell me how u did it and il should be fine thanx

  • Totally orgasmic phone!!! You see the thing that defines a good phone is one that does exactly what it says that it will...this phone doesn't disapoint in any way. how a phine should be!

  • this is an awsome phone only if it had a bigger screen and more memory than it would be even better and it seem to bee unbreakable.......

  • Yeah this guy I know through his up in the air and hit it with his skateboard! It still works fine!

  • now i must say this phone is incredible since m a nokia addict.if t had a bigger memory say like 1000fields,a camera, mp4 radio n a bigger screen then nokias 4 th quater sales would be incredible.i guess its also bullet proof ha ha ha

  • its an incredible phone in its own class if it had a camere with a bigger screen it would be a bomb.thankx nokia

  • yes people... i forgot to mention... sometimes when i'm in a call there is a screeching noise. When U hold the phone away from U U could still hear it. If the headset is connected I wouldn't hear the screech but the other person still hears it. I've never heard it on loudspeaker, but then again, the screech comes and goes. I don't kno what causes it but this phone has been through some rough times! It would be cost-efficient to buy a new phone rather than fixin it. plus de keypad drives me crazy... but all in all its a grat phone... Hello fellow trinis!

  • i've had this phone for 2 1/2 years. I love it! Dis phone indestructable. lol. My only problem is the keypad. It takes alot of patience to use this keypad, else U could go mad! Maybe that's why nokia made this phone almost indestructible! The keypad make U wanna throw the phone into a wall and then stamp on it! U gotta press it real hard and sometimes U would select something without meaning to! All kinna madness... But other than the keypad, this phone made for people who live a rugged lifestyle... not the "pretty" people...

  • Wow!! These fones cant break!!! I've had mine 4 almost 3 years now... It has fallen a gazillion times, been thrown across a room into a wall more than 3 times, been in a pool, and now the power switch has broken off, so it has to be switched on with a screwdriver, but it just wont die. Really is a pity there isn't really a replacement (except 4 the 5140 which i don't like). The fones look was just so different when it came out.

  • This phone is simply bullet proof!!I have got it wet while diving and dusty and oily while at work and thrown it across a room in anger yet it just keeps going. It is a shame Nokia cannot come up with a suitable replacement. Perhaps they do not want thier phones to last so long in order to boost sales?

  • absolutly solid i'v had mine for years it's worked perfectly even after been in the pool with me, i find it's a solid performer. and would love nokia to make something as solid as this.

  • seen this phone in real life and my 1st impression....ugly! dont wanna bash the fone but in my entire lifetime i stayed in uk and dubai and i only saw this phone with 2ppl uptil now.

  • Why this cell phone is not available in Brazil??? He seems to be perfect!!! :(((((((((((((((((( At least for me :)

  • he didn't came to brazil... =[

  • I'm from Trinidad & Tobago and I've had this phone 4 over 2yrs. I've had xcellent service! Never had 2 do repairs til now an that's bcause I accidentally cracked the screen. My friends r tellin me 2 get a new 1, it would b cheaper, but i can't seem 2 part wit it. Also, this model is no longer available in our country.

  • can anyone tell me why this is 199$? cause i want it but i might as well just get a nice camera phone instead ya know? but this ones SOO cute! someone email me and lemme know..

  • ilive in trinidad and tobago and i love this phone so much i made all of my g-friends purchase it, this phone is neat and very reliablewith service, in my location its very hard to get service with mobile phones but with the 5100 i get perfect service.

  • This phone is not bad when you think about it. My only problem is my radio doesn't work and i am having trouble using my infrared port. Is this feature only compatable with other Nokia 5100's?

  • i love the nokia 5100. only it is hard to find covers/fascia in the usa. ihave used it with t-mobile and cingular. i have yet to find something that is published on the web site it doesn't do. it works great wet.

  • Iv have this phone for about 2 years and its been great. its never gone wrong once. the only down side is it hasnt got a camera iv got a detachble one but it doesnt work v. well. if ur lookin for a simple eay to use phone this is perfect!

  • An excellent phone. Battery takes approx 45min to fully charge from dead and lasts about a week. Very durable and simple to use. a good buy

  • i cant find this phone here in the philippines...i like to haves this but its not yet available here...

  • Its a good phone, have many functions but, in my country dont sell a skin for it. Why nokia dont sell this mobile in South America ? Who knows, say for me ok !

  • this phones pretty cook just it was really easy to crack the screen, i cracked it about a week that i had got it. i really like that it has a camera attachment and the headphones to listen to the radio and it has a speaker.

  • Hi! I Am Using This Phone at 1 Year Ago and this is a very cool phone. The Infrared Only Work With Contacts and Notes With Other Phones and I Think it's because the phone is ''Nokia Series 40 1st Ed.''. GoodBye For Everyone !

  • Hi all, I am using this phone for 3 months till now. It is wonderfull phone! I had SiemensC55 and Nokia1100 and I am not very pleased with them. I bought this phone at second hand and until now I did not have any problems with it. The phone has a good anti-shock system. The torch availability is very important for me- very usefull in many situations. The sound meter is not so usefull utility but it works on noisy environment. I change the SIM card at least 3 times a day and the phone just continues to work. Well done Nokia. Kind regards.

  • the infrared dont work for me either

  • the infrared on the fone isnt workin for me.......any 1 no y....i am turnin te infrared on then sendin via infrared from the other fone......any 1 no y

  • hi guyz, this is very nice fone/ simple and durable/ fits to a sporty person/ nice radio....

  • That`s is the best phone. It's wonderful

  • HELP! i bought this phone off ebay at xmas and everything was going great till the weekend when it turned itself off and wont turn on. If you switch it on it just glows for a dew secs and switches off again. Ive tried charging it and removing the battery for a bit but it dpesnt work. This was a great phone till now. Anyone got any ideas?

  • FUI, I just replaced the battaery (BL-4C)with the larger (BL-5C) It fits 99%, and better performance.

  • you can only put moblie home and email if u save it under PHONE not SIM.

  • To Steve and Marwan The infrared is on the bottom half of the phone on the right side. if u see the keys 9 and #, between those keys on the right side of the phone where the blue pattern stops for about half a centimetre and then starts again, thats here the infrared is. Marwan, save all ur contacts in your phone book to thephone, not to the sim card. once they r onto the phone, you choose if u want to save people's numbers as home work mobile fax etc. go to names, then to settings, then to memory in use, and then click phone. then u can have multiple numbers under one name

  • could any body tell me if the name can be divided to home, mob., work,...etc

  • Where is the infrared on this stupid fone ive looked everywhere and even on the net and stil no look!

  • Great phone !! I'm using it for 2.5 years & I'm a sound engineer. The flashlight & sound meter from 5100 is THE MOST usefull tools for me. The sound meter in loud noise setting is accurate enough when I compare it with Neutrik Minilyser overall SPL C-weighting (the 5100 usually 2 dB lower). But I often use it for checking the broken driver / out of phase between multiple drivers that usually found in subwoofers. The durability is just awesome. The flashlight is just okay, brigther is always better, but it's okay. The thermometer is accurate. I'm a very busy person, so I need a quick keypad / system response for a quick execution SMS. 5100 is the best cellphone for that ! You can abuse it but it still works perfect and helps your work. I'm buying the new 5140, let's see how is it going comparing with 5100.....

  • Nice outdoors Phone, but if you mess with the casing. and the pads or key extensions misalign, it would be hard to turn on/off or use the key pads. Make sure the shell cover is shoot to the inside mechanism. The IR is on the lower right side.

  • have had it for nearly 2 years and the battery is fried, needs to be charged fully every day and it makes a very loud squealing noisewhen i'm talking on it oh and the reception is terrible!!

  • This is best phone I ever used.It only needs dictaphone and camera and more memory.Ogy SCG

  • hmm good nice design at the time bit big, the new version 5140 is great compared to this, all the flaws in that fixed.

  • hey it's a gr8t phone, it falls down in the sea and still working !!! it's only probleme is the keys u will locate the ir port at the left side of the phone u will see a part which doesn't have a groove that's it

  • I am using it ( very hard ) for over one year. And I really use it up to edge. My opinion: Reliable ( it hit floor and walls many times, got wett in rain, high and low temperaturs, steping and siting on it etc...), good screen ( when lit ), sound not bad, accesories works ( lamp used many times, thermo and radio often, sound rarely-but phone use it for automatic volume control, calorymeter never...Many application downloaded and used ( most working), GPRS enormly used, PC conected-no problems. IR ( on right-down side ) have difficulties with PC, with other phones no problems. Battery lastin sattisfactory ( regarding usage ). Keys not that pleasent but not bad ether-no treble with on/off key ( I am using it only to swith profiles - phone is allways on ). Reception good ( not sttunting but good ).And offcourse... phone can be used to talk...quality accetible. Overall...I am VERY satisfied ( who likes it -love it, who doesn't -cant stand it )

  • On the Nokia 5100 there is an infared port the problem is that we can't locate it cna u send information via that?

  • hi

  • i will like to know the price of this phone please

  • if anyone could tell me where the infared port is on the nokia 5100 it would be great

  • I need Just Nokia-7270 to now de prise how much it will cost?

  • as faras I am concerned i think d NOKIA5100 just beautiful and i love d handy shape its got overveiwing d funtions i think it's just kool.let alone d fact that it has an inbuilt handfree and an fm stereo including d java apps and even a calorie counter

  • very bad keys! i almost broke my finger to power on/off the fone! how can i get the improve quality of batery and? and, it's a real anti-sock,water, etc phone??? send me an mail to my adress!

  • it is the most valuable and easy to maintain how can i buy a phone?

  • hi i have this fone or 6 months it has gotten wet and the right has complaetly stoppped working. so much for the water proof aspect!

  • The Nokia 5100 is an absoulute superb phone in lots of ways. It has a torch which is quite cool and a sound meter which is fun.Ring tones r brillient u can download loads of stuff which is helpful wen u get bord of d old 1s. I have also had a nokia 3510i but if u wer 2 consider getting 1 i wud strongly advise u 2 fuck off right away from them cus der crap

  • i want 2 buy this phone

  • it is very practic!

  • The recessed send and end buttons are difficult to operate. Texting is laborious due to the stiff keys. A lot of effort is required to power on/off. The side volume buttons are also stiff. Connecting to the pop port is a slow process requiring care. Overall, your fingers get very weary when using this phone. The screen regularly flickers. I know of two persons whose outer screens cracked. When the phone lights are off, the screen is impossible to read.

  • hi am looking to buy a nokia 5100.. i would like some prices and some information about the 5100.. i will wait for an answer.. thanks, anthony

  • i have a nokia 5100 and find it an excellant phone except for the screens which i find are very weak . i have replaced my screen three times in six months and feel that it is a weak point in the structure of an otherwise excellant phone

  • Bad phone. Keys too smallon multi function buttons. soft backing pins collapse making answering too hard.No hands free kit available. But it does bounce

  • Can i upgrade the Version of my phone, when pressing *#0000# it shows v 3.05 NPM-6 (c) NMP, can i change and make my phone's software faster to operate

  • bad keys bad keys bad keys soooooo bad

  • Should i buy dis fone now bcause itz cheap, or should i wait 4 a newa model, which is fast, and has improvn shock, and a camera?

  • simple, nothing to be excited about.

  • this is known as the "builders" phone. its suitable for working on building sites etc, very durable..like most nokias though. keypads do "die" quite quickly though...only lasted a few months before having to replace the keypad.

  • i ask about picture electrical circuit? Thanks

  • it's cool, it's smooth, it's everthing i think of. IT'S MY DREAM PHONE

  • good work..

  • wha;tr sup hoe are you doing i need this phone urgently and what can you do for me on it am down nhere in nigeria i like the product very beatiful and nice looking

  • Dear Sir, I would like to buy nokia 6600. So pls send me the cheapest price of nokia 6600. I will witing for your answer. Best regards, Sikandar

  • Hey Guys, I like the Nokia 5100 very much. I am very happy with it, i'll dropped the phone twice an it's stil working just fine..... Go and get the 5100 if your are looking for a good shockproof phone!!!! Greetzzzzzzzz alex

  • This is supposed to be the 'drop proof' phone. I'd venture to say that ALL Nokias are drop proof to a point. I had a 5120 that I dropped on a daily basis & to this day, 5 years later, it still turns on & works perfectly(though it no longer has service). Nokia phones are tough which is why I love them. Plus if you fuck up the outside you can just get a new faceplate.

  • Hey fellas, for those who have one, how's the reception??? its ok like all the nokias??? tell me

  • The phone broke from 2 meters and also the signal was off.I repaired it but I don't know if it will work and for how long.

  • By the way, where is the infrared port on 5100.I couldn't find it....Thanks

  • Not a very good phone, the reception quality is terrible, great protection but the worse phone Nokia has ever brought out, I've never heard more people complain about a phone, definately a waste of money.

  • Avant garde design mobile, pull attention everywhere, very firm and durable, unique functions and character. Not common (Great!). It's a classics. Though, It has a dreadful key pad (specially the SND and ENE keys)- it would be difficult to answer your calls many times. Too big and FAT. The Nokia Pop-Port design is a tragedy- it's a nightmare to connect a hands free specially when you are driving. Very difficult to turn On/Off! (Can't you Nokia make a rubber button softer and it's move a half millimeter shorter (longer/closer inside)??? Through, it's very special phone. I like it, but it could be much better with a small (but critical) changes.

  • bad keys

  • This phone is the most durable out in the market besides phones from nextel. You could drop it off of a building and it would bounce back to you in perfect working order. Not to mention it is waterproof. It also has a halogen flashlight which has come in handy many times. Battery life is very good. There are no other phones with these options.

  • Not a bad phone overall. But headset comes adrift too easily. It makes my ear sore if NOT using headset. The keys can be awkward to press at times. Would prefer a 3510i. Or I think I would

  • Good luck with the poor 720 mAh battery, the average reception ,the low quality/high volume call quality, the VERY poor 4 chord polyphonic tones and the amazing freeze that happens with using GPRS!!!. No more Nokias,i`ve had enough:)

  • Nokia 5100 is really great!!! It has all I need!!!!!

  • to Migot, biult in handsfree is a speaker biult in the phone where u can make calls without having to put the handset on ur ear or use a headset.....just like landlines phones:) Ron.

  • "Built-in hadsfree". What does this mean?

  • The replacement for the Nokia 5210 is actually a good phone. Price wise is ok and it has the handsfree speaker, colour screen, radio, polyphonics and a whole lot more. Styling is not particularly pleasing but it serves a purpose ie it is a rugged phone. Ideal for workman or for those who drop their phone a lot!

  • This phone I am using from last 3 months. Its ver y useful phone for a normal person, who is not to an executive. I have been using in very rough weather, like sand storms, water sports etc. Spilling is ok, but not submerged. Flash light is an additional advantage to this piece. I love it as a hard phone. Easy go. Dont have to worry about this instrument at all.

  • this phone is really handy when comes to cinema when u use the flashlight to light out the seat number. Also the radio keeps me entertained when i am walkin. This phone makes me more confident. Since it has GPRS enabled, I dled stuffs and really looks cool on it. too bad i agree the with the guy below me. Too little polyphonic ringing tones

  • i'm using it since 7 months. No software or hardware bugs. Really SOLID phone. It fell off at least 100 times, no harm yet... The battery is very powerful. My phone is open 24hours/day, i'm talkin atleast 20-30 mins/day, sending 40-50 sms/day and 5100's battery still lasts 3 full days. My friend shuts down his 5100 during night, battery life is about a week. FLASHLIGHT is very very useful(life saving)... (lose your sim card at 03:00 of the morning on the plage and you'll see what I mean...) I'm not satisfied with (only 4 Chord)polyphonic melodies... Still it's the best phone to buy right now I think...

  • wats bettr 5100 or da 3650 cus i dunno which one to get cus they both sound wicked

  • very good phone and good battery and fun to have thanks nokia this is it!!!!!!!

  • The Nokia 5100 is the "Lick"(Wicked)....I purchased one of these babies about 5 months ago and recently had is stolen....lost ever since!!!!.Iv'e had plenty of phones, but this one is the best iv'e had by far.....this phone had a macho rating of 10 out of 10...C'mon!!!Had loads of fun with the torch with loads of chicks!!!

  • Good Phone

  • flashlite very handy ,set a reminder in the calendar but u can't postpone it like 5210 . Dropped mine once , and the case cracked . ($50) Headfones don't stay attached properly . Can't personalize screensaver . THIS FONE ISN'T AS GOOD AS THEY SAY IT IS . NOW I'M STUCK ON A PLAN FOR 18 MONTHS WITH A FONE I DON'T LIKE. (salesmen , u gotta luv em)

  • Does this phone just escaped from the amazon forest,Nokia certianly have no ideas to create a better looking phone.Plus what's with the flash thingy

  • what I say??nice...very nice... +381641969449

  • This phone is cool. But 4 me the flash light is too dim and numbers(letters)in the keypad is gone.

  • very interesting...

  • @lisa.... wow you don't get bored? you must be having fun flashing the flashlight in the dark.. what a hobby

  • this would be free but wouldnt fit the car kit you have at the minute you can get a car kit 115 + vat and to install 70.+vat

  • I purchased this unit 2 months ago and I am so pleased by it's performance and durability. With all it's extra like the sound meter and 3 new games, it's hard for me to get bored with this phone. I think it's Nokia's most innovative and practical phone so far. My only complaint is that the built-in flashlight should be brighter. But all in all I love this phone.

  • This phone is useful only if u are swimming:) u can clip it onto your swimming trunk ha!ha!ha!ha!ha!

  • ugly phone ugly phone... hey btw you can buy a flash light for $2, a portable radio for $3 , calculator for $3 and you can get an ugly phone for free at your GSM service provider.... so instead of paing about $250-$300 you only pay about $8 and get the same thing

  • Does this phone supports Chinese Language? Can pictures(high quality option) taken by the camera headset be sent as MMS? i heard the 7210 and 6610 cant send high quality pictures using MMS:(

  • this phone is god. u can get it for 170-230GBP () on eBay.co.uk, 250 for handset only in the Carphone Warehouse and 309 in The Link (UK only) im gettin mine on the 29th April :D

  • this fone is fuck.... the best i have ever seen............ iam looking for an oppertunity to buy it..

  • This phone sucks!!!!!!

  • Cool phone, could do with a little more memory and loudness. Now with the PC Suite 5.1, I can transfer pictures from my 5100 to my laptop, shot by the camera headset. The camera headset was a big dissappointment..... :o(

  • 5100 is a cool phone.....

  • i think this phone is wicked because it is colour screen, it has radio and it also have a flashlight, and the good thing is that i got it!!!!!!

  • What da fuck is this? In my 5100, after ending level 11 of BOUNCE game...says END OF GAME and shows this error: java/lang/NullpointerException I think i cleared ALL levels...but why this error? Thanks.

  • Hey guys I know this is kind of a stupid question... But do you all use large fonts or small fonts for your messages? Just interested to know... Pls kindly reply with 'SMALL' or 'LARGE' in this forum ok? Thanks!

  • This is Nokia, nothing can be wrong, except maybe software. ==> oh, boy best irony ever read.

  • This is Nokia, nothing can be wrong, except maybe software.

  • To "another guy from Finland":thanks for ur help, and if that sort of strap that comes with the phone is a light-grey strap, then it`s the MBA-8.One thing remains missing:Does it have voice dial?(coz it`s not mentioned in the online catalogue). The phone costs 400 U.S$ and is made in Germany, battery BL4C(720 mi-ah)made in hungary, stereo headset and charger are made in China......it`s worh every penny, simply awesome!!(to be continued:).

  • No way Ron Hyatt!!I'm goona buy it this afternoon. In Italy it's already out! The price is 399 euros.

  • Another guy from Finland: 5100 sales package contains Stereo HF and some sort of strap. Not sure if its is MBA-8. -I have 2 get that phone soon 2. It's just so magnificent 4 my use. :)

  • For the same guy"unknown":Thank u for being more specific and since you live in Finland, can u do us a favour?;PLZ ask/check if the 5100 has voice dial function and if the standard sales package comes with the carrying strap(MBA-8) coz they say so on Nokia`s website...Thanks:).

  • Here's a lil' something for u 2 think about: 1)Why the fuck isn't there a"contact us"link on the Nokia Phones page?! 2)With all the fancy hi-tech features, why is Nokia so goddamn stubborn not 2 include a freakin'alarm clock with week-days recurrence rule and an in-call timer?!?! That's what I'd like 2 know after paying 500$ for one of their pieces of shit!

  • Sorry to upset you Ron, but it was released that day here in Finland. It will be widely available in a week or so, in Janyary anyway. And this is a fact ;-)

  • For the guy who said that the 5100 will be out on the 20th of this month:man..nobody in europe knows the exact release date of the 5100 and rough speculations say that it`ll be out on march 1st......plz be more specific and stop missleading poeple!.

  • Here in Finland it costs 395 euro, and will be out tomorrow!

  • price?

  • I am dying to have this phone and No one knows the exact release date of it!!!,Can anyone HELP???.

  • cool

  • i agree nokia are flooding the market, there,s so many choices with nokia.it makes you feel u need to use a different company to buy your phone from, but i tried that ,i got a sagen myg5 phone, but it was with orange, then i got a philips fisio, were u have to buy a cable to hook up to get ringtones from the net,and i looked like it would snap in my pocket,so its nokia for me,hopefully there not gonna outsell themselves like they have with the 7210, in the uk how would the 5100 cost, thanks

  • the best

  • Cmon you guys - use your imagination. It's a funky colour. Take it to a rave and you have your own sound meter, strobe (flashlight) and you can work out how many calories you are losing while dancing :)

  • I'm definitely going to get me one these cute phones. Own a Nokia 5210 at the moment and I love it. I was wondering what I was going to upgrade to until I discovered this one. Now I know!!

  • this phone is very good for people who always by, accident, drop their phone. and good for athletes. I like the fact that this phone is a Tri-band phone.. and it has flash light, and its small .. interesting..

  • thanks a lot mr.admin 4 removing that previous message that was aimed at me. i agree wit Vodka, nokia are flooding the market wit so many new phones that sum of da ones out now will go down in price so much, not everybody wants a colour screen u kno, it just consumes more battery ppower... but it looks dead cool!!

  • C'mon peeps give NOKIA some credit for it's new phones,I know they're all prety much the same software wise......but I loook at it like this:The more phones they put out,the cheaper they get,right.....Also it looks as Nokia finaly figured out,if everybody can still from them, why not return them a favor,u know I'm sayin'?????

  • I really love with this cute Cell more over with that green colour n funky shape ... it's great 4 young expression lifestyle

  • cmon wot the F**K is tha point in the sound meter?!?! hmm, i think it is loud in here. but maybe im wrong. i kno! i better check my sound meter mehehahae... get my point? som1 explain plz

  • Letting alone the loox, with that many feature and the "classic" software reliability, it'll probably crash every 5 minutes! When the hell are they goin' say "after intense testing we have come up with this phone and now we release it on the market", instead of spitting mobiles out like a minigun!?!

  • this phone looks wicked, when does it come out in oz?

  • Can it bounce?

  • haha this fone looks like a bloody turtle or sumthin!!

  • i reckn the sound meter would only be any good if u happend to be def lol!

  • A flashlight? Wow, sounds like a fun phone :)

  • Cant understand the sudden flood of new phone models by Nokia when they all are virtually the same...

  • i'll buy this phone man!! how mach is dis?!

  • i wonder how good the sound meter, and the flashlight would be ....

  • this piece will be replacing the old 5210, as its predecessor its dust, splash and slightly shock proof, dont know how much they will be costing. but if anyone can tell me why nokia insist on flooding the market with a sh**load of new fones, id be interested to know!!
