  • This phones is serving me more than 2 years now and it never fails. Though it looks like beat up now with dents and scratches. The battery is lasting a whole day with 1 full charge and it has never degraded since I bought it. Bought this device for only $70 and totally worth it. The only downside for my unit is the hardware problem with my touchscreen the lower part of screen is hard to use but with Xposed framework nothing is impossible. Best phone ever had and totally worth every penny. Thanks

  • I also used Pantech Vega IM-A850L. It is very beautiful and nice smartphone. It has two GB Ram and Quadcore process with HD screen. It has no problem now. No complaint against this. When I purchased it, its OS is jelly bean 4.1.2 and now its OS is kitkat 4.4.2. auto update and having no problem so far. Now I want to decided IM-890L. If anyone have 890 experience practically then inform me about my decision.

  • need help! im just using the phone with an LTE sim card and its perfectly working for almost a month then suddenly turns off, then i discovered that the problem was the sim card everytime i inserted the sim card it will turned off at the home screen everytime it detects my sim, however without a sim its perfectly working... i tried to upgrade the software to kitkat and was able to change the software to A850S however the problem is still the same... i tried to change the mobile network to gsm only or wcdma only(not sure with the spelling^^) however the problem was still there ... do i need some software or application regarding mobile network problem? i realy love this phone i hope we can fix the problem.

  • intall pantech usb driver. u can find it on Google.! then connect your phone to pc via cable nd select camera option from usb connections. your device will connect now..!

  • your software is bricked you have to install a new software.

  • There is a long process to update phone on Kitkat

  • go in phone setting and PC connection and storage then USB connection option and then click on MTP your phone will connect with your PC

  • You should root the device first then install hangouts app from google play store this will resolve your 80 char sms issue

  • No there isn't any problem with kitkat update, all you need to do is use custom kitkat software

  • Your phone is on default 6MP, go in setting and change it to 13 mp then you will get the 13MP result

  • install Textra from google play store, its free and it solves all sms related issues.

  • to those who are having problems with the navigation bar.. this is not a software problem but a hardware one.. either you go to a technician and have it fixed or you install custom rom and use xposed framework and use gravitybox to edit the size of the navigation bar.. it works for me and my friends it should work for you too..

After finishing continue to flash rom reboot the phone .. absolutely not flash file by config_patcher in this time too ( if you skip this step, but do hang to 8 logo machines are okay ) 8. After reboot the phone set initial information to load done everything ok wait all about 1-2 minutes , then go to File Recovery flash " Config_Patcher " (flash does not wipe anything more normal) => Note that this step is need not be ignored offline! 9. Reboot the machine ... Enjoy!

Now Rename The File Again To .apk In Your Device And On That Device Which Did Received. ~ ~ For Example: You Have A File DezignBurg.apk In Your Android Device And You Wanna Send It, So Just Rename It To DezignBurg.mp3 Or Something Else And Then It Will Be Sent. No After Sending Rename It To DezignBurg.apk Again And Use It! :) ~ Cheers!

  • Well... it's your choice. Optimus G might slight be better due to more reasonable size and LG is more famous brand than Pantech. Vega makes bit edgy on basis of it's big screen with same specs and it can be ported to 870 which includes the air gesture. So its your choice. Hardware is almost same in almost in every detail.

  • no need to root or install custom roms.. it works best on stock rom... moreover people face many issues after installing custom roms... for SMS limit issue.. just use BIG SMS app from play store and send lond sms (160+ char) without any problem....

  • AnyOne who is having issues with touch or soft navigation keys of their pantech vega devices ,just try this #4648# ---> options ---> touch self test and finally it will show completed and voila issues resolved just in seconds . mine is vega r3 L version 4.1.2 jelly bean with ver 2.22 .thanks to a user eterman who pointed out this issue .

  • yeah but as from my own experience, i think hand cent app also not able to send characters more than 80. i installed it yesterday. but failed to do so. so custom rom or recovery boot is the only solution which i don't wanna mess with .

  • I am using this cell phone for last few months in Pakistan, so here is my experience with this set: APP Support: I think is supports every app/game available in the Play Store. It supports very heavy 3d games like real racing, call of duty and many others ROM: First of all this set can not handled by anyone who has less experience with rooting and installing different roms, since its ROM are still underdevelopment they always some minor bugs but i m currently using VegaViet 4.1.2 Version 8. it has just one bug or maybe i m doing something wrong but i m not able to connect to cellphone data connection (Using Zong Connection), otherwise i cant find any other bug with the cell phone. Its next version has also arrived but i haven't tried it as of yet. Hardware: This cell phone comes with a very heavy hardware as you guys can see in the specifications. I tried different benchmark apps and every app result shows its better than Samsung s3. Camera is too good takes pictures very fast and takes very fine pics in very dark room. Battery is very good gives a full day with very heavy usage i.e. wifi, browsing, games and calls. Its price is around $250 - $270 in Pakistan. I recommend everyone to buy this cell phone but inquire for roms first. original rom has sms limit to 80 characters which can be solved by installing custom roms as i mentioned in my post above. I hope it helps you guys decide if you wanna buy this cell or not Regards

  • i have got one & been using it for 2months i must say very proud of it ill always try pantech sky phones. only down side to it is it can scratch so i advise getting a good quality screen protector cut for both sides meaning including camera lense. If you get a case i advise you a sillicon / jelly or a neo diary for pure protection. Its like gold to me lol :D

  • I just got the IM-A850K version of Pantech Vega R3 few weeks ago. It's an amazing phone with outstanding capabilities. The camera is the best i've ever seen on phones (except nokia pure view). Smoothness, good control and responsiveness are some of its many qualities. Battery 2 days stressed out. I'm not a fan of a brand but technology is my mistress, i've seen so much terminals but this one amazed me, it's ike a fairytale. Go for it.

  • Look, you have a valid point. The Network numbers ( frequencies ) are different from the ones for the USA AT&T. I have a burst, and while no way near the same tool as the Vega R3, mine does the job that much more costly ones would do. BUT the Frequencies are different from the Burst vs the Vega 3. My suggestion, if you have not already bought one, wait a bit till the CES convention in Vegas... Pantech is bringing out new models. SOmething should pique your interest. Cheers...
