Have found a battery for that old phone I had for a long time, decided to give up my blackberry and get something smaller. and don't want a "smart"phone. I put my sim card inside, fresh new battery, it boots fast and looks easy to use, I try to place a call, and crashes. I try to call it, it crashes. Whenever the Os tries to get the date/time from the network it cannot understand and causes an overflow. Too bad, it looked fancy, but this is really a dick move from Samsung to intentionally limit a 32-bit firmware to less of a decade of lifespan.

Yes, Agere platform phones usually have calendar up to 10 years past the launch year. E900 is based on Agere 2nd generation agere platform which supports dates from 2000-2016

I have the same problem. I have spoken to Samsung about this problem twice and I have visited the Vodafone (my service provider) in Southampton, for assistance, but to no avail. Samsung eventually inform me that this phone Time Zone was programmed up to the 31/12/2016, which is unthinkable. Samsung should have included this in the phone's specification or manual. I like this small phone but if I knew this I would never have bought it. If you or anybody else find a way to advance this phone Time Zone beyond 2026 I would be grateful to hear from you.

I hate this phone. Everything about it annoys me. Why does it have to vibrate when It's running out of battery? Why cant it remember which alarm tune I want? And why is the standard alarm tune soooo annoying??? This phone is driving me mad and will die a slow and terrible death once I get a new one.

It was an amazing phone in it's days, Internet, Java, Music Player, Hotswap Mini SD, AMAZING DESIGN, Light, Very Light, Responsive and Very well built a great example of Samsung great designs and quality. I have smartphones, I had old school nokia 3310, but this phone was rocksolid, battery was going on for weeks witouth charge. Bring back this phones get them a light version of Android and great design.

this phone has been very good to me all the time I've owned it. my only problems with it are the memory space for web-based files is too small for my liking(+- 100kb), and that you cannot write video or photos directly to the microSD card. Sound quality is good. picture quality at super fine when placed on a computer screen looks exactly like the view you took it from (i.e. '20-20' quality). pictures can be placed for the screen background, at any size, and download speed depending on the provider is fairly good. I would recommend this phone for those who have patience with sensitive touch-screen devices.

I didnt say more things about the phone in my other review. Unfortunately i forgot about other "bad little things" on this phone. You cant change your alarm or ringtone to a custom one (lets say a mp3). If you want a custom music, this phone wont allow you to do it. And there is in fact NO WAY to configure the sensitive keys. I dont know what " Anonymous 2010-04-16 21:07" means that they can be changed, the reality is that they cant. Another bad thing is that if sunlight hits the screen you cant barely see what you're doing in the phone. When witting an sms, it can deleted if you press the touch keys accidentally, and that is just cheap. And to conclude, what bugs me more (apart from the sensitive keys) is that this phone without being in silent mode is just awful. You CANT put vibrate and ring at same time, first it vibrates and only seconds later it starts ringing. When you arent in silent mode, the phone does every kind of horrible noises that cant be muted, like when you do the simple task to know how much money you've got via screen it "rings". Yes, it plays some kind of tube and its damn annoying. Like ive said, in this phone the only good things are the "style" of it, great internal memory, somehwat good camera, video, music and sd card. The rest is a downpoint and cant turn into a very frustrating cellphone.

i bought this phone 6 years ago. a brilliant phone. light and also very easy to use. the settings for the touch sensitive keys can be changed so calls are not made by accident. Also the phone has great bluetooth features in which it allows you to explore devices... i moved to nokia...i really missed that feature (im not sure if the new samsungs still have that feature). my sceen cracked as it fell behind a radiator...replacement screen is £8.99 on ebay, which is not expensive. A great phone with a powerful set of features. After moving to nokia, the main problem with this phone is is the headphone jack is a weird propriety design...so standard headsets do not work.

Ive got this phone for about 3 years, and what's really bad on it is the touch-screen keys. Many, many times, by simply putting the phone in the pocket, it can "call" your contacts by itself if you dont block it, because of the call touch screen button on the front of the phone. Its worst if you have contacts on your "Recent List", because usually it only takes one touch in the call button to actually call one of these recent contacts that called your or you called them (if you know what i mean). Its really annoying, its the only downpoint i can register about the phone, the touch keys suck. The rest works alright, the camera is somewhat good, plays movies, music, great internal memory, sd card etc.

very durable sliding mechanism... unlike other sliding phones, after years, or months of use, the flex gets damaged. but I've had this one for 2 years, and im not exactly gentle to the slide, but its still in prime condition

You can't access the songs from your memory card, maybe because you had folders to separate different gender of music, my advice is to copy songs to memory card with out folders, then you can just create playlist, it's easy for this model, I'm using this model too as my personal phone. I hope I'm a little help..

This is a great phone. I've had it for 2 years now and it works as great as the first day I got it. It has been through alot of things and I've never had a problem, it has a few scratches on it but I've never had to spend a dime fixing or improving anything on it. This is a very trustworthy phone that never says die, and the bonus is its very stylish, slim & small enough to carry in any pocket. The only thing bad that is worth bringing up is its camera, its not the best but you know what you're in for when buying a 2MP camera phone. Everything else is exceptional and I'm happy to use this phone for many more years- because I know its going to last for as long as I decide ha ha!

i bought this phone in october 2007 and well i could say it was a good phone until one month ago when it suddenly couldnt charge like it used to when i had just acquired it. I think there is something wrong with the charging unit. i do not no what to do with it. Also the battery life is weak and can not go beyond 3days much as i do not play music and neither do i use the bluetooth function. Any assistance/ advise regarding the charging unit will be welcome.

samsung e900 is a great, small phone with all the specifications needed(exept fm radio) but if it is your first time you are going to buy a phone with sensitive tuch keypad i recommand u to think again because the keys are very sensitive and sometimes they piss u off. but on d whole its a great and worthit phone!!

Good phone but during a text if you accidentally hold down the clear button which is touch sensitive the whole message will clear, it can be really annoying

it has 80 mb internal memory, but if you're gonna buy memory card, u can store a lot music,depending on the space of your memory card.

I've had this phone for almost 3 years now, and couldn't be happier with it. The flash is very bright, though the touch sensors are a bit too sensitive. The screen is nice and large, and it's decently loud. The camera takes great pictures and the bluetooth is fast. All in all, this phone is wonderful and it took nearly 3 years for it to start freezing. Up until just recently it hadn't ever frozen or missed a text or call, and I text A LOT (try 14,000/month). I've dropped, thrown, and abused this phone so much I'm surprised it still works. Though it's freezing up on me at times, it happens VERY rarely and I'm still happy with it. Only thing is, after 3 years you start to get bored of the same phone so I'd say that's the only downside of this phone.

I loved my samsung E900 sooo much. it was one of the best phones ive ever had, and in my opinion its still far more better than the new phones out now. Unfortunetly my beloved E900 got washed in the machine:( I bought a new one but i was far less from what the wonderful E900 was. I would buy it again, but its too out of date. A great phone, no problems with the touch buttons.

what annoyed me a bit about the phone was the touch pad it would stop in the middle of a call or delete a message when writing it.............it also rejects my calls and never notifies me!

I used this phone for a year....but had to put up with many problems...first text message received in a symbolic format it cannot be read in any way!!!!!!secondly when ever a new file is received via blue tooth it corrupts existing files on the handset.It also deleted any file that was stored in handset memory each time you switch off the handset.phone gets stuck making this handset the worst thing i ever had!!!!!i tried to upgrade software, it worked to put an end to the problem with text messaging but other problems still present!!! now it gets restart automatically what an awful thing!!!! is this the way the other E900 performs

I actually own one of these as a secondary phone to my nokia 9500 communicator. The sensitive touchpad is really a pain even if you get used to it. Accidental presses happens frequently. Its music is good however, you are limited to only 30 songs per playlist (4 playlist x 30 = 120 mp3s). Camera is Good but the catch is it will take at least 2 seconds to have a clear shot, otherwise it gets blurry. In short the camera has lags longer than other cameraphones of the same class. I im to rate it scale 1 to 10 i'd give it a 7.5. Designwise, its a 10.

Good phone, had it for 2 years ongoing. User-friendly and comfortable to use. Dropped it so many times but still functions as though nothing happened. Don't use the camera or mp3 player though, but camera flash makes a good torchlight.

If you are a text freak it is certainly not a phone for you, the camera setting don't get fix :S, battery is pathetic and as samsung's legacy no good ring tone! MP3 player sound is very low, and touch pad is just a hassle No doubt colors and graphics are good screen is wide and bright

It's a pretty good phone to be honest. It can be a little fiddly and the battery life is poor. Had mine for a year, and the screen just cracked (internally), and the same thing happened to a friend's, but it lasted a long time. Overall it's a decent phone!

The battery life is poor, barely lasts for one day with occasional talking. Cant read anything when outdoors, the plastic covering screen is glossy like a mirror. Mine broke - screen occasionaly goes blank, tried other FW, cant fix it, probably ribbon cable broke. Dont buy it, it was good when it was released in 2006, but today its just an old phone with bad battery life and screen problems.

Hi Adda! Yes it's a very cool phone! I got it December 2007 and it haven't given me any trouble yet. It takes a while to get used to the touch screen, specially when texting! Picture quality is the best I've seen on ANY phone! No Nokia will get even close! 2MP camera takes better pics than my 3.5MP digital camera. Get the phone, you really won't be sorry.

If you would say Iphone and HTC would have enables touch screens in early 2007. Then I think the Koreans would have given you much than what you can bargain for. The E900 is a super user friendly handset with sensitive touch screen dials. It also offers long batt lifespan. I have used this phone for almost 2 years now and the batt have not been changed. Yet the user interface is still common amongst the entry models for Samsung.

i've had that this mobile phone for almost a year and the first couple of months of having it everything was fine.. but then afterwards when i used the camera it started showing lines of neon green and purple, it's stops after 10 minutes after you settle it. also it's only the camera that does it not the video camera. does anybody know what's wrong with it or if there was a faulty batch of phones produced? please comment back if you have the same problem that i am experiencing.

Kiss- The battery in general is pretty good. When I used to use the music player, it didn't seem to drain the batteries but like every phone it will use them quicker. Please note that (unless someone has found a way to do so otherwise) you can only put about 30 songs on a playlist.

I have an issue with the MP3 player in this phone. When I open it, even if I play nothing, and then close it after sometime, and lock the keypad of the phone, and then press a key from the front panel of the phone, the screen just blinks. Also, when I close the phone, the screen turns off automatically, not staying turned on for some time. To avoid all this, I have to restart the phone after I open the MP3 player. I have this fone..and it's not a touch screen. The feature with Samsung E950 are almost the same...but E950 is touch screen. Anyway, I have been using this fone more than 1 year now and it's the best fone ever. But I recommend u to buy Samsung F480 touch screen if u are into it. Hi there!Well E900 is really good phone,but actually it's touch-sensitive keys are too sensitive and it's annoying when you are browsing your huge collection of photos,and accidentally ''press''the end button and return to the main screen.However,you can get used to it afer 1-2 days of practicing,but the big problem is the shutter lag of the camera,which is too slow.That's why most people thinks the camera isn't good,because the photos are blurry.You just have to keep still your hand 3-4 seconds after pressing the shoot button.If you do this,the photos are outstanding,with great quality,especially in daylight.The flash isn't xnenon,but it works properly.

1. first of all, u need get the games. 2. Using pc studio, transfer the .jar & .jad files to Other files. Alternatively, using memorycard reader, put the .Jar and .jad files onto the �other files� folder on the memory card. Insert the card in the phone, next copy the files from the memory card to the phone. P.S. u could oso use bluetooth to transfer the files onto the fone� these files will be located on the folder �other files� in the phone. AND jad file is required for the fone to install the app/game 3. Once that is done go back to the standby screen. 4. Type in *#9998*5282# 5. select Install MIDlet from the menu it will now ask for a password, enter the following 235282 6. once that is done, select the jad file and press install. Viola! there u hav ur game installed under app�s > java world> my games!

There are lots of threads on forums about the 4gb issue. Basically it only supports certain makes of card. To get around it, turn everything off and leave the battery out for a few minutes. Turn on the phone, and as soon as it starts up, keep hitting the photo button on the side. You should find that the memory stick will then get recognised

ace phone, ive hade it scince feb 2007 and its now march 2008, everything is working on it, god knows how meny times ive dropped it, it has been in water, loads of casing damage due to HIGH usage and i have changed the firmware to unstable verisons before, and all on this same phone. I owned this mobile for about 7 months. Over all its a great phone, it got a good sound and a very clear camera with a great flash which i usually use as a torch. After a couple of days I got used to the touch screen though sometimes it gets on my nerve when I hit the cancel by mistake and it goes back. Thats the only think I hate about it. My phone fell for about 6 times since i bought it and it wasnt damaged fortunatly. I really recomand this phone since its one of the best which is completed with great features. =]

So after three Samsung E900 I can just tell this: It's a great phone from Samsung by the looks, but it's more fragile then glass beneath a huge elephant!!! DON'T BUY THIS CRAP! And for people that say the camera is too slow..yes it can be slow but it depends on what setting you have it on..if you go on camera --> options --> camera settings --> And change the size to 640 x 480 and then save it... now it should be faster.. if it isn't.. then I think your phones faulty.. A very good phone, I do recomend it to anyone who want's to buy one, it's very compact and stylish and has a very clear screen and take great pictures, and the camera shutter snaps the picture effective and fast so there's no waiting around to capture the moment. I have has this phone since May 07 and it works fine. The mobile videos are very good and upload to your computer via the usb and samsung software. A excellent phone I think so if your thinking of getting one just go get it, it's fantastic for the price! The touch sensitive buttons are very effective to and they never crash. I bought this phone like a year ago its totally wicked. The firmware that came with my phone didnt have ring+vibrate at the same time. i flashed it with a russian firmware and now i have that feature. Camera isnt too bad but then i dont use the camera much. its a phone not a digital camera. some ppl say the touch buttons are too sensitive...i really didnt think so but you get used to it. overall its a very good phone. if there is anything you dont like in the firmware, you can flash it one you like...there are lots of available firmwares for this phone out there.

I have been using this phone for a Year now. It is still working well except for the following: In some networks, the EDGE connection to access Internet is so slow and most of the times it doesnt work at all. In the other Network, it is perfect and fast. Anyone with an idea why it so and how this can be resolved. This is because in the netwok it doesnt work well, that is my default number and which am known to be using. Cahnging the number and informing everyone is abit expensive. My other problem is that before when the phone was new, I could be able to make and receive call through my stereo wired headset, by pressing the button as required. However, this days, I cannot receive the calls by pressing the button. Further, I cannot even make the calls in the usual way by pressing the button twice for the last dialed number. The BAD & GOOD Things on E900 First The Bad: ************* - cant change mms, sms tones to some MP3s (only 10 default horrible sounds) and i mean it HORRIBLE!!! - wake up alarm tones are a nightmare u can change it but only to midi and some other stupid format files no MP3 - it cant vibrate and ring at same time - when set an .gif image as wallpaper must be under 250kb size and it moves too slow - only 2 themes black or white what to say RASIZM hahah :) - installing games is possible but difficult need jad maker, codes and a password to do that and still some games wont install... like Puzzle Bobble 2 i have tested it on nokia 6300 its working fine but on e900 it wont work fakinshit - when it rings the first 1.2 seconds the volume of sound is low and after that it ring normal but the ringing sound is anyway not good :( - when u set keypad tones to on and by tipping on the pads you will hear first the sound and after that sound 1 second shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - when sending sms it wont automatically save the sms to outbox - when charging the battery the display is on it cant bee dimmed or turned of - no firmware update Now The Good Things ****************** - the prize i payed it 125euro - microSD slot - 2mp camera and flash (lamp) - a great design - a excellent display quality - display size 240x320 - sensor pads - can send jar zip sis files and other stuff via bluetooth that nokia cant haha :) - 90mb integrated memory - usb port and cable - i dropped it few times still works no scratches... - supports mp4 3gp video files - watching full screen videos - music player is cool - easy menu - can change font size color and type its a great phone just the software firmware could be and should be better!!! SAMSUNG please make better firmware in future when u make it then is NOKIA DEAD!!!! ;) I BELIEVE IN SAMSUNG !!!

HELLO every one what a fantastic phone you can put your own msg tone on it you av the Samsung data cable it won't work with bluetooth of your pc tried that and same thing for your alarm tone mine is mint works great and its been dropped from heights of 20+ feet as i am a roofer and it is still with me to this day the only Samsung that is better than it is the G600 lol

The phone is simply perfect. I have it for about a year and 1 or 2 months, and it is the first phone that hasn't become boring to me after a year or so. For those talking about too sensitive touchpa, no way! An hour or so is enough to get used to it. During the call, the touch sensitive buttons immediatelly disable, so there's no way of touching it accidentally by your cheek. I am quite surprised with its durability. I dropped it a few times, and it is still like new. I have a black version, and the only visible thing is that the back of it is a bit scratched, due to it being held on many different surfaces. All in all, one great phone, I discovered almost everything that can be discovered within it, so if anyone has any kind of question, i will be very pleased if u contact me ([email protected]). and BTW Happy New Year to everybody

I got this phone because i have broken 2 expensive phones in the last 2 months (yes careless i know) and decided to opt for a cheaper one due to my bad luck (i got mine for �50 brand new!) Heres my review on it. Touch keypad: well i find it very easy to use, havent had any problems getting used to it. Ive even got big hands and fingers and i havent pressed any buttons by accident. Numeric keypad: I have a slight issue with this keypad. Sometimes you press the button but the phone fails to respond, in particular the space button when writing a text. It can be annoying. Styling: Very stylish phone, looks great (i have a silver one and it looks brilliant, apparently you can only buy a silver one from argos in the uk (or off ebay of course).Very lightweight too. Camera: I really like the camera. It takes very good quality pictures and captures good video clips too. MP3 player: Produces good sound quality and you can minimize the player aswell. However, its really annoying that you cannot search for tracks by artist or album, and you can only have up to 120 music tracks stored in the music player application under 4 different albums of 30 tracks each. I think they could have done better when designing the mp3 player application for this phone (though i think the player in modern samsung phones has been improved vastly as they do allow artist track search etc.) Battery life: about 2-3 days, ok, but not so brilliant compared to other phones ive had. Overall then im very pleased with the e900, especially as it only cost �50. Shame about the music player, but still it is a great phone.

Well, I was very excited when I got this phone, 2 months ago. I thought it was great... but it wasn't. It sometimes restarts, the Cancel/Contacts touch key gets blocked and I have to shut it down for it to come back to normal, I can't hold it right in my hand (bad designed); I droped it once from only 10 cm and it shuted itself down. Tbe battery sucks (only 2-3 days), u can't put your own ringtones on mesages or wake up alarm... it sucks. If you are planing to get one, don't. I am going back to Motorola...

Look i;ve had this phone for about a year now and it is very nice in design and shape but after having some wear it is showing faults 24 hour battery the slide in it becomes flimsy and scratchs appear so intensely in the black model also it doesn't vibrate and ring and it is very hard to get themes and games without changing the firmware just thought id let you all know for christmas

Hi everybody and for those who can help me out! I bought this phone for about 1 year and 5 months. Everyth is fine to me though it's not really 100% perfect in every feature it has. However, for these 3 weeks, I totally cant send out any MMS or even receive from others. Can anyone help me and sort out to me what is actually happened? Is it the phone problem or the network problem (I mean the network service). Another problem that occurred in this week was my message tone rang. Usually, after i slide it up, I just need to touch on 'view' and it will automatically show the message that i just received. however, this week, i met a problem twice - the msg tone ring, but when i slide up, i only can see old inbox message. after that i only can find the new incoming message in the folder that i created in the phone. why? is it the software problem? Please reply me asap as my phone'a warranty is going to lapse next month.

i got this phone for christmas about 2 years ago and i love it. there hasn't been any major problems to it, since it survived a few drops on concrete. the touch sensitive buttons would take some time to get used to, but it won't be much of a hassle after awhile. the sound is loud and clear when using the music player, but they could have worked on the speaker phone option. also, this is only thing bothering me about the phone, but i wished they had the ring and vibrate option instead of vibrate than ring.

got this phone in february 07, its okay. i have to admit, its small which is a big plus for me, its sexy and what not. what i dont like about it is that its slow. takes ages for pictures/media to show up and change, as well as other applications. i got used to touch screen pretty fast although it still throws me out to "desktop" every once in a while and i am sure i didnt tap the screen. it can really grind your gear. the battery is weak as well as the antenna, but thats probably something wrong with my phone.

Yes it does have a loud Speakeronce the call is connected you can turn on the loud speaker i used long time ago i think the middle button would be used to turn the speaker on or off.

have this phone for over a year.. I love it , i love its design but it doent have that much options , i dont care for that so its not a problem .. besides the slide didnt get loose at all.I spilt water over the touchpad once the phone didnt work for 2 days then it worked when the water dried ! The only disadvantage is the heat problem, sometimes it just goes out of an application by itself..Its not for heavy use,just a trendy phone with ok features.Thats what im looking for and i love it.

Ok so i've had this phone for almost a year. I saw someone have it and i thought the heat sensitive was neat. It's technically heat sensitive, not touch because only your fingers work, not anything else, but anyway. It's an awesome phone. I get good service everywhere i go, i got used to the touch pad fast. Camera is very nice, a decent amount of phone memory for music and ring tones. The bluetooth is not always good, but it does its job. Sometimes i can not be too far away from the phone with out static. But over all an excellent phone!

Installing GAMES!!!! 1. You must have .jad and .jar file of the game uploadet on your phon in the other files folder! 2. Then enter *#9998*5282# on main screen and then chose install MIDlet and this password : 235282 3. this phone is not very good. its touch pad is too sensitive and when i use the alarm from the phone and put the phone on my bed, the alarm would be accidentally switched off. other than that, its sliding tone after awhile would go away, as in there is no tone at all when you slide the phone. after awhile it will come back on again, and then off and then on.

yes the mobile doesnt have many functions but you can install other apps and games for free using a simple code email me if you want it. i've had my phone for a long time and the slide doesn't get loose and i play with my phone alot. and the call wont be disconnected unless it's not not key lock which it automatically goes into when making a call.

A very nice outcome of the Samsung Company. Though the E900 has a beautiful design, a smooth slide and touch sensitive keys 9which are quite easy to get used to), it also has its disadvantages! The mobile doesnt have many functions that would allow you to enjoy this phone. The main thing is that if you have the phone for longer than 6 months and slide starts getting loose so if u pull it out of your pocket it automatically slides open. And if unfortunately the touch sensitive keys happens to touch your fingers or any part of you, it is likely that the call will be disconnected. This has happend to me a lot of times, I truly did not like this mobile phone because it you play too much music the sound quality also goes down. It is also sometimes difficult to find any signal if you are indoors. Now the choice is yours!!

This is a great phone had it for almost a year now and had no problems with it. You get used to the touch sensitive keys almost instantly. You can get the light/flash on by holding the up volume key up (left side of the phone). Overall this is a very good phone and would reccomend especially now its only around �50-�70.

This phone is a cool phone. had it for a while. I guess the N70 lacks the pixels which makes photos look not so great compard to the photos taken with E900. N70 dominates this phone in other features such as symbian s60 user interface, video calling,3g,more sms memory,20x zoom and so on.

...my brother bought for me Samsung E900 phone from Belgium new phone with a bill. I received the phone through courier in India. I started to use the phone the same day. almost phone is good in all features. but after 1 week and 3 days i started to experience a bit flashing in camera in night first i thought it may be like that. but the next day i opened the camera i saw a whole experiencing of it. Damn the camera is the worst of all ..when i open the camera screen appears in green and purple colors its keeps on flashing every time it goes on increasing i haven't installed anything extra in phone .and when we take the picture it comes with green and purple color. and i soon searched on internet about it. and i was shocked to find that almost all phone is suffering from same problem and all different version of firmware�s whether its Russian or Europeans or Germany. everyone is experiencing same problem. if anyone knws wat can i do please help mee.

maria, you first need to install the software (Samsung PC Studio) to your PC. then you use the USB data cable to link your phone to the PC. open the software and select 'Manage files'.

I've had this phone since my birthday around 9 months ago and it is slowly getting worse and worse. If u drop it once or twice the touch screen starts to get really messed up. My back button no longer works and I can't delete words while writing texts. Also it constantly quits out of things for no reason. Batterly life is terrible. Great phone for the first 3 months, then its rubbish.

Logan, unfortunately you can't change your message tone to your own but I heard there's a mod that allows it to do so but I think its kind of risky. As for the message saving.. after you finish typing your text message, press options and choose option number 2 (save and send), it will save your sent messages.

I bought this phone on December '06. I really like it. The touch pad is really nice if you know how to use it. Lots of people complain about it but it is pretty easy to use once you get used to it. I still sometimes hit the end button when browsing through pictures etc.. but that doesn't matter, you just go back to whatever you did before.. I have a 1gb card and i have no problems. I didn't try the 2gb card so i wouldn't know if it is slow or not with the 2gb. The music player is great. Great sound and no problems whatsoever. I can also view excel files on the phone. It's great for my job. Overall, I think this is a great phone and I am really satisfied.

There isnt a possible way of doing this unless you format it on your computer. It owuld be a hell of alot easier just to edit them all yourself. I am having the same problem at the moment as I am using an insurance loan phone. Its crap but hey thats life. One thing I shoudl warn you if you are planning to change it back to a different phone soon then do not bother because you will have to go through the process all over agin

To Mike.. They are both good phones the Nokia N70 and Samsung E900 but it depends which design yu like the best but although the E900 has a nice design, the nokia N70 is better quality with a better camera and better features

To The Person A Few Comments Down.. I have had this phone since April and its now Sepember.. I havent had any problems with the touch pad.. The video type is MP4 or 3GP.. It can't play videos in full screen mode.. I don't know if using a 2gb memory card will make the phone slow or not.. The camera quality is good except quite poor zoom on it.. The speaker is good for playing music.. Yes the music player is good and you can have up to 4 playlists.. No software problems for me so far.. I don't know if you can upload games via USB or not.. Pro's..The phone locks when slided down to prevent calling people by accident Good MP3 player Nice design But on the other hand.. Battery runs out quickly when playing music Very slow when flicking through photos and if you have a memory card and you're looking at a picture you can't go left or right to go to the next picture you have to press back and go down and then select Hope that helps you.

This phone is the worst mobile I've owned so far. I love Samsung and thoguht this would be a good upgrade but the touch buttons are a nightmare. I only wish now that I'd read reviews on it before I bought it, which is why I'm writing this now. It takes forever to send even a basic text as if your thumb brushes over any of the keys by accident then your text is either lost or the wrong word goes in. Playing games on it is the same and you can be in the middle of something and it will suddenly cancel off becuase of those too sensitive buttons! After a few short months I hate this phone - all I can say is that I'm always finding that IT NEVER DOES WHAT I WANT IT TO DO! I also find the charger tricky and fiddly to fit to the phone. It's a flat connector that doesn't always clip fully in. Quite possibly one of the worst designed phones around. I'll stick with Samsung but one of their more conventional models.

I have tried other makes, but samsung is fab with the amount of extra attention to detail so my last 8 phones have all been samsungs! This phone is cute and classy (I have it in red) but the touch screen is a feature that drives me nuts! How hard is it to press a button..? I do not believe a touch screen is an asset to this phone and would love for Samsung to bring out an identical model but without this feature. I am not so lazy that i cant press a button on my phone handset and I know my son finds the feature irritating on his u600 too-one brush of the thumb and you are saved to drafts in the middle of a text!!

GREAT DESIGN the touch screen gets a little bit of getting use to. the only thing i don't like about this phone is that you can only use stock message tones for text messages, but the internal memory of the phone is great. it can carry around 20+ songs (depends on song quality.

phonebook sucks!!! i transferred all my lists on the phone and wham!!! a couple of re-starting problems while sending sms and its all gone, even my calendar lists are all gone. since the body is made of plastic, its prone to scratches. you cant even use mp3 on the message alert tone.

Hey! I currently own a nokia 6300. bought it around two months back but i am thinking of changing it because every goddamn person has this phone. Besides, the battery isnt too good. I was thinking of getting a samsung E900 but as i went through the reviews, i dont really think i should get it. Everybody seems to be complaining about the phone going off and on itself. This is a really great phone. I've used it for over a year. Don't let its easily scratched exterior fool you, it is made of steel. I've put this phone through a full wash cycle (by accident) and it came out working fine after it had dried (took about 4hours). The main problem that i have now is that the battery life is really horrendous, because of the wash. The functions on this phone are fun to use, and are very user friendly. The touch pad is a definite plus. The sound quality good and the camera is excellent under proper lighting conditions. I highly recommend this phone as it will carry you through most of your average daily cellphone needs.

OK another correction: 1. You need to choose or a ringtone or vibration when you're called, but you can't choose both at the same time - True but you can choose to have the phone vibrate and then ring 2. You can choose only 6 different ringtones for your messages, no downloads - TRUE 3. You can't customize tone for your alarm... - FALSE!!!!! if you can't work out how to do this, go to Applications>Alarm>Wake-up Alarm>Alarm tone and hit the middle key. You will now be able to select the ringtone from Downloaded sounds, Favorite Sounds and Default ringtones

Just a little correction for some folks who previously posted their comments regarding the phone... 1. The number of songs you can store depends on the size of the file and the size of your memory... I was able to store over a hundred songs in my 1GB memory card and it only used less than half of the memory card capacity... Same goes true with pictures and other files. 2. If you find any defects on your phone (eg. blurred camera), please have your phone checked in any samsung service centers. Make use of its warranty... 2. If you notice that the battery life of your phone is less than expected(like you can only play music for 30 minutes and it goes low), maybe its time for you to change your battery... My phone can play music for 2 days straight.

I guess you want a phone that supports 2GB external memory and has a touch pad... if thats it...you may want to check out samsung U700 phone... I do have a samsung E900 phone and I'm using 1GB memory as of now and its working fine... I haven't tried inserting a 2GB memory to it... I'm not so sure if this is true with samsung E900 but for most phones, the processing capability will be greatly affected by the size of the external memory... so far I haven't encountered any problem with my E900 phone..

chessie, you need to make sure that you're storing things to the memory card and not to phone memory, the phone can only hold 11 songs on its internal memory but the memory card can hold 500 (give or take a few)

Chessie, it seems that either you have a problem with the phone, the card or what you put in it. It usually stores lots of tracks and photos. Get a Sandisk original card. If it still doesn't work, take it to where you got it, it must be a faulty mobile.

I have this phone and I have a 1gb memory card in it and it doesnt store many songs and I barely have any pictures and other stuff. The most amount of songs I managed to get on is 11. If you want to store songs on your phone I wouldn't reccommend this one.

I bought this phone and it regularly turns itself off and the screen goes blank. The battery life is awful and the camera is good for a while but afterwards blurs and smudges. The memory isn't very good if you like to have music, videos and pictures on your phone - other than that the memory would be fine. I would not recommend this phone.

I bought this phone in March. I have it in pink and it scratches very easily. The phone memory was okay, it held 17 songs for me but i bought a micro sd memory card because i needed more space. I never had any problems with the phone until last month. The camera goes all blurry even when i've tried cleaning the lens. The battery life is terrible ! If you take around 5 photos it goes down one bar and if you listen to music the battery is dead within 30 minutes. The touchpad has been alright although if you accidentally lean on the phone touchscreen it can phone your first contact in your phonebook. I would recommend this phone if you only buy it for the design and to text and phone people. I would not buy it if you like to listen to music and take lots of pictures. I would however buy a sony ericsson phone because i've had one of them before and it was very good.

To get Pictures 4 contacts you 1: hav 2 hav de contact saved to de fone den u go to ur images pick out wat picture u want and click options and set as ---- then caller image. Hope i was able to help. I had a nokia 6111 and 2 of dem ( dey were both de worst fones eva) and my bruder had de e900 so i gt it. It is really gud. I luv it I dont wanna get a new 1 But it keeps Going all blank and goes to start up screen then switchs off turns bak on agen and goes all white den turns off agen den turns on and it is fine. to gaddy: accessing your pictures in the memory card is really slow especially if you have lots of pictures saved already. that's normal. to eggie07: you can save messages that were sent. just make sure when sending your message, you press options then select save and send. common mistake is pressing the center button right away. if you do this, you are not saving your message at the sent box. hope i was able to help.

My favourite phone. Stolen in London this week and am absolutely gutted. Small, sleek, light and very easy to use. Also still looks fantastic even after a year, most phones look very old after 12 months and you pray for an upgrade.

Disappointing, its easy to press a touch sensitive control when you hadnt meant to causing the phone to cancel what you were doing and the battery life is much less than the 220 hours standby as qouted in the literature.

Got this phone a few weeks ago and love it so far, the MP3 player works and sounds great. There are a few cons however: -scratches very easily (black version)! -touchpad just doesnt work great -the calculator is somewhat tricky (cant reset) Apart from this, its a great phone which comes with usb cable and a nice headset.

Hi livioo. Yes you can watch movies on Landscape, i.e fullscreen. Just press key no. 1 and hold it down for some time when you have played your movie. It will turn to fullscreen mode and you can even slide it down to continue watch. Further, you can repeat above, to change the landscape way on your to the way you want to hold your phone when slided down. Yes, you can use Opera 3.1 on it. I am using it too. Further, the new Opera 4 Beta is also very interesting on the phone, I also use it too. just download them and enjoy. Cheers. Paul.

this phone is amazing dont be put off by cry babies saying how the touch pad is too sensitive and you make calls while its in your pocket and when you take a call it disconnects when it touches your face dont believe them because it locks while your in a call or not using it. the downside to this phone is the shutter speed on the phone isn't that great except it makes up for it in quality

I like this phone. Now I couldn�t imagine the phone without touch sensitive buttons. The images on display are so clear and sharp. With this phone my e-mail is always with me. I can it browse open, read, watch pictures and answer. Great thing is pics file viewer, so I have all my texts, presentations even books in my pocket. Camera is very good, but it�l be beter with autofocus. Music tones MP3 are marvelous. Sometimes I transform some movie in 3GP format and I can watch it when I travel. I had problem connect on my old PC (pentium 3), but it works by my friends on beter PC. However I can access phone memory card by cable, like some flash memory and transmit all I need on card and then move it into the phone. I downloaded a lot of pictures, games and applications, install and use. So I have for example scientific calculator, biorhythm, language translator, guitar composer, expense list etc. Battery life is not long-2 days (suppose because I use them very oft). I recommend SAMSUNG E900 to all who search something much more then a phone.

Mmm to the person below me, you've got it all wrong. You can play songs from the memory card and put them into a playlist, it's because from the Music folder created in the memory card, you've got another folder in that. Because the E900's branch doesn't go as far as you create folders, then it won't play music from the specified folder you put it in. Just format your memory card, put music into the music folder created by the phone, and you're done.

Does anyone have the problem with the e900 that whenever it is turned off it defaults back to NOT having predictive text? So every time I text after turning the phone on I have to turn T9 back on? Ridiculous - stupid design! Also if you try and listen to songs off the memory card you can't make a playlist so you have to listen one at a time!

I hav this fone for about 2weeks now...the touch pad was a bit getting used to and now i don't think of getting another phone this phone has so many options and is so stylish SE wont dare compete with that!the only disadvantages are that u cant play to large games on this phone like Urban GT3 or Juiced dnt ask me why and the housing scratches very fast above that I give this fone a 9 ow yeah I have a 1Gb memory card(only 40mb free) and it still works perfectly no faults what so ever.Installing games is a little tricky guys

id give this phone 7/10. the touch sensative buttons take some getting use to. they are abit annoying especially when your correcting a text the it cancels the whole text or when your playing a game it cuts off if your touch it slighty!! Brill features, and it looks stylish aswell.

i'd just like to tell everyone, theres absolutely nothing wrong with this phone whatsoever.the touch sensitive buttons are fantastic, the day i got the phone i got the hang of them, the rest of you must have very fat fingers. the signals brilliant, the screen is very bright and colourfu, the camera, even though i conceed does take slightly long to load but its nothing to worry about is billiant and yeah, the sounds quality of the mp3 is very good. the one gripe i have about it is the fact that it takes so long to set up the mp3, you gotta add songs to the playlists and then use it.,..

My contract is nearly up,for the E900 i cant wait to get rid of it, i am comparing it with the samsung D500,i find the touch pad awful ive never made so many mistakes,and phone calls i didn't want.My alarm went off in my pocket it took 7 goes not to press the snooze button,and stop it,when you reach into your pocket you can't tell what button your finger will cover 1st, i think the speaker quality is bad, photo's fuzz easy you'v got to be dead still.When you choose a calander date it always say's this has landed on another event when it has'nt, the alarm choice is not good,you have to keep resetting the 2nd alarm once it goes off, you can't set it for the week,im sorry but i cant say anything good about this phone other than it's nice'n'slim

I cannot really understand the bad comments. I appreciate that the phone is not up to all the worlds liking, otherwise there wouldnt be any competition, but coming on a website that reviews mobiles, and stating that its not good, or garbage, or that the touchpad sucks is too much. It might not suit everyone, but the phoneis good. I did my homework before buyinh my E900. And I dont regret getting it. If I took note of all the people who said things against it I wouldnt have bought it. I have only two things that I dislike in the phone...1) the centre button on the face of the mobile is used only to go on internet. Should have been made customisable and 2) SMS's cant have personalised tones. I would recommend this phone....and I dont work for SAMSUNG!!!!!

move all of ur files to the memory card so u have got all ur fone memory left then u can record videos and take more photos, when u go in to ur files open video folder left click on it (touch keypad) then go down until it says move item then click on memory card.....jay!!!

Love the phone - here's the problem. Samsung does not support it in the U.S. Phones not even authorized to be sold in the U.S., so if it breaks - hope you have a good relationship with your dealer..After three months of owning this phone, put it on the charger (as I do every night) woke up in the morning - the battery had fried out. Phone didn't boot - and there was an awful "burnt" smell. Called my dealer - no luck there. Called Samsung - they wouldn't even let me send it in for repair. Said the phone was only authorized in the EU and Asia. So I'm out $350...and a really cool phone...

i've had this phone for only a couple of days but i really like it. i was put off at first by the number of complaints i'd read about the touch sensititve keys, but they really haven't been a problem. i think the camera looks great and everything is really easy to use, BUT - and there's always a 'but' - surely there's a way to send texts without having to type in the person's number? and i want to be able to switch off the sound the phone makes when i turn off silent mode!

Hi guys. I am a big fan of Samsung phones. I have D600 and Z540 now and I love them so much. My last phone was D900 but it got problem with screen (it suddenly goes off and not come back until I restart the phone) and sliding mechanism (not as solid as I think, because it gets move after 3 days) and I gave the phone back and bought my D600. Now I want to buy another Samsung phone. It will my third phone so it is not important for me camera or battery performance. I want to have a solid, good quality and very good looking phone. Can someone help me about this problem? I was playing and the touch pad went off, slided the mobile but still it remained off. When i removed the battery and switched it on again, the touch pad switched on normally. The memory is not very good, worse than the D500 which is an older modle so i think supplying a memory card like Erikson do would be a great idea! Also as already said the touch screen is too sensitive! no problems other than that.

My opinion is: I've seen it fall and seperate immediately (Phone, battery and battery cover). And i've used it and the sensitive key pad is too sensitive, not ideal for texting because you keep pressing buttons accidentally. It's good on looks and ok for music, also good for imaging. Overall I don't like it.

hey i got the e900 a few days ago and im hvaing trouble with my caller id. ive saved my numbers to the phone memory and attached picture/ringtones etc to them from the contact and the files menu but still whenever someone calls me it just comes up as 'unknown'. any ideas? everything else works fine.

for the problem with your game not supported format is because when you try to install your game you need to have these two types of files for that game a .jad file and the .jar file, .jar has all the info of the game and .jad installs the game to do this you need to have a .jar file which i assume you have but you need to have a .jad file is well, this you need to make your self i can help you with this download it from here

Using pc studio transfer the .jar & .jad files to Other files on your phone. Using memorycard put the .Jar and .jad files onto the memory card in "other files". Then once the card is in the phone, open the other files on the memory card then copy files to phone. if you do not have a memory card put the .jar and .jad files straight onto your phone in otherfiles using the pc suite Once that is done go back to the standby screen. then type in *#9998*5282# then select Install MIDlet it will now ask for a password 235282 once that is done then select the jad file the press install. Then goto app's > java world> my games now ur ready 2 play. Hope this helps.

Hey, babygirl :))) there is no such option to save your sent messages. When u send a message u can save it this way: when u've written the message u click on the Options button and choose "Save and send". In this way it will be saved but u have to do it every time u send a message. Besides that, when u are reading a received message and click on the "Reply" button to write an answer, the message u send is automatically saved ;) Or at least that is what I have discovered with my E900 :)

I bought this phone last year and I hate it. The touchscreen drives me crazy!!! Whenever you try to do something if you accidently touch the screen you delete all your text are start calling people! You cannot change your alarm tone and the one it has is probably the most annoying sound in the world.

I love the samsung e900. i have the red/pink one and i love the resolution on this phone. the only thing i would be disappointed about is how sensitive the touch screen can get. i often accidently end whatever i'm doing because my finger slips near the end button of the phone. but other than that, i think it a unique phone!! Also, can someone tell me how to set a password on my PRIVACY section to my messages and pictures, etc? everytime i go to settings to set a password, it tells me to enter my current password (which i do not have one. i never even made a password)... Apparently i need this password to also make a PIN lock on my phone. everytime i attempt to set one, it always asks for a current password. This is a very good phone. I just bought one and except for the battery life wich is short there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I don't mind recharging the phone every two days, so that's not a problem for me. The WLAN is great, thou the signal strenght must be stronger then let's say a laptop, but it's a phone remember; the display is brilliant, great colors, great resolution, the sound quality of the stereo headset is great, plus the phone has a good sound equalizer; I don't have any problems with the slider, I try to work very smooth with it...bottom line: a good and complete phone for what I need.. very nice phone exlent model very super... There are pros and cons with regards to this phone. First of all, this phone, physicall is really great. It captures so much attention because its sleek and sophisticated. Its features are cool too. The document viewer is really helpful. I just have one itsy bitsy tiny problem with this phone... since its touch sensitive (navigation buttons) a hard pressured "click" can make the phone go to different menu categories or so. But if I'll rate it 1-10, 10 being the highest I'll give it a 9.5

TO SHIRLEY so.. to do it,first,go to that file(the song),press options,then go to "add to playlist" then choose wherever u want it to be (playlists 1-4).. then after that, go to "applications" then "music player" then that's it. play the song.. it would be continious.. you can put it as shuffle mode, repeat once or repeat folder.. then you can go back to your main screen (wallpaper).. and you can even play games while the music is playing!! or you can even use the text messaging while the music is playing.. but you cannot open your files (music,images,videos etc.) and you cannot operate the camera.. hope this gives you enough info.. im really sorry if you cannot understand my explanation..

I had this phone direct on a contract through T mobile and i thought that it was a good phone it was untill it kept powering down in the middle of talking to and texting people anyway i complained to t mobile about this they did a handset only exchange which was good of them only to discover that the replacement handset did this also after complaining to t mobile yet again it emerged that there is a faulty series of samsung E900 and they told me that samsung had notified them about this and that it could be something to do with the back light settings so i changed these but to no avail i had to send the phone bak and have the contract cancelled under the distance selling regulations so am waitng for my new motorola krzr blue coming today on t mobile i wiuld strongly not reccomend samsung to any body

so, ive been using this one for around a month, what can i say now - 1-the battery doesnt last long, if you take pictures or videos and make calls then it will last for one day only. 2-touch sensitive keys - they suck, sorry, but thats the way it is, they are uncomfortable and rather lame sensitive-wise, they arent as responsible as one would like them to be, simple keys win in this contest. 3-phone gets rather slow pretty soon after ive bought it, within couple of weeks it became less responsible when it comes to personal file managing within phone 4-display glass that cover the display is TERRIBLE - YOU CANT SEE A SH1T! unless you are in dark/shady room. otherwise it serves only as a mirror, the amount of light reflected is too big to be able to read your display without a hassle in a daylight. 5-music player - its uncomfortable, browsing it and adding songs is rather uncomfortable. headphones that are included with phone are of a terrible quality, music sounds like sh1t through them, players sound isnt of a best quality either. ______________ now the good parts: video is of a rather good quality i like its design, open-close, nice :) but thats not enough to outweight the minuses of this phone _____________ conclusion - if you want stylish phone with a rather good look and decent set of options and dont care about its convenience then you might bear with it. otherwise - avoid this phone!

WARNING WARNING WARNING Please beware of this phone. I purchased one of these from Virgin Mobile Walsall. Nice modern design and GUI but there is problems. The phone randomly cuts off, the bluetooth refuses to disconnect when connected to phones and apple macintosh computers (you have to disconnect the other end when transferring files). Samsung D500 would not communicate with it at all. The Heat Sensitive Keys are far too sensitive and there appears to be no way of adjusting this and so you can keep dropping out of menus and sms options etc by touching the c key. Nice try but needs a re think samsung. Oh and please, please, please samsung fix the problem of sms message tones we want to personalise the phones more and also we want themes for the phones not just pictures and sounds.

I got this fone just yesterday and i LOVE it! i've had other models before the samsung and i prefer the way that keys and features are all set out on the samsung, i had no prob getting to grips with the touch pad, and the cam is absolutely awesome. I haven't used a d900 so cnt compare which is best, but i would recommend this fone to ne1. And complaints about writing reli long txts and then accidentally deletin it all instead of just one character - i give it a soft touch to cancel one letter and it doesn't do anything! there no way u cud accidentally touch it and delete everything unless u stamp on it or summat!

Had this phone for a couple of weeks now. GREAT looking phone first and foremost. Few gripes though: won't ring and vibrate at the same time, predictive text isn't on by default when sending messages, centre button starts connecting to the web, the touch sensitive buttons take some getting used to, not compatible with OS X Address Book, and some MP3's won't play for some reason. Basically, it looks superb but the functions are poorly designed.

To JAY! hey! i own the e900, and i recently swapped my e900 for the d900 with my friend for bout a week. TO me, the e900 feels way better in ur hands than the d900. the d900 is a bit bulky. THE user interfaces are similar on both fones, but the d900 enjoys some perks, missing from the e900, such as "ringing & vibraring" and other useful things. THe d900 is definately more media enriched. The screen is A LOT better for a reason, even though on paper they are similar. The main reason on buying either fones comes down to ur choice. U shld chek it out in the stores. CUz do u wunt a looker or a kick as cam, but the camera on the d900 takes FOREVER to save. its not funni. Hope i have helped Yall!

Hi Guys, Just one very very very handy tip for ya! To get the battery to last alot longer set the light settings to the lowest level. It is still perfectly visible but does not drain nearly as much battery!!!!!!

Yes, you can put videos on this phone. I'm not sure what format it supports (probably mp4, 3gp and avi), but you can watch all your tv shows and movies on it. Excellent feature, IMO.

Have had this phone for about 6 months. I like it alot. Took a while to get use to how sensitive the touch pad is, but once you get around that you will love it. It is very sleek. Plus quite durable. I was very careful with it at first but in its life it has taken some nasty falls and even been dropped into a bowl of cereal and works great! With the drop in price now I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Just got this phone around three weeks. Its OK as far I am concerned. In order to have the battery last abit longer, I play the music and the videos using the headsets or the TV. This way it doesnt use the phone speakers hence lasting longer. However on my normal usage, it lasts two to three days, including wap web browsing on it. For the Service Centre Number locked on speed dial one, it is not fixed yet. The first time you press the speed dial, it will prompt you for the service number. Once you put it, it will now become your service centre number. For the messages, yes you can read the ones that are over 176 bytes. Its only that for this phone, one message is 176B for two its 352B and so on. The phone can read or write a message which is up to 12 messages or pages long. Hope the above was of help. Lets keep ourselves enlightingn together about this phone since it seems it has alot to offer than we all know. Regards, Paul.

Hi Everybody. I got this phone a while ago and read all the postings here beforehand. My problem is the USB cable. I can't plug it into the phone. I know it has to go in where the charger goes, but to no avail, it seems as though the plug where it plugs into the phone is too narrow, I have tried to plug it in at all angles, nothing! Sat there are 1 or 2 negative parts which are the battery it lasts a while only around 2 days i'd give the battery 4 stars the other neegative thing about it is when you touch the black version your fingers leave finger prints but the rest of the phone is absolutely superb i think any way its great i like the touch sensetive key pad.....JAY

guys, i don't think it is possible to assign your own tones on the incoming messages. As with all samsung phones so far, you are able to assign various tones to different callers but only pre-fixed tones can be used for the messages. As for the battery issue, try setting the brightness of the phone into a lower level! visibility is still great, you can use it as with full brightness but you help your phone save a lot of battery!!

i got mines about 2 weeks ago. its pretty cool only thing is that the battery dies to fast. after playing a few videos listening to some tunes and talking, the battery hardly makes it through my 8 hour work day. thats the only draw back with this phone. other than that its really good. love the mp3 player and the camera is pretty good. i downloaded tons of software have like 50 songs on my phone already. it moves a bit slow on the memory card, but if the songs are on the phone memory it moves faster. navigating that is. u can add your own song the certain callers. just find the song u want for that person scroll down to set as select caller ringtone, choose the caller and bam. ur done. one question can u set ur own sonds as a message tone? if yes, how?

for first time charging you should charge about 12 hours. actually charge 12 hours for the first three times. and then it only takes about one hour to be fully charged

A excellent phone!!!! just got it yesterday no problems so far...the only thing that is a bit of a problem that many ppl have stated is the touchpads...they are a bit of a hassle when scrolling through the menu and writing messages as the "cancel" button is so easily pushed. But apart from that all the other features are very good. The 2 MP camera is good enough quality, the music player is also good, and the phone is also really easy to use in transferring images, videos and other documents from a computer (most file formats are capable). The expandable memory is also really good making the phone able to store loads of images and even movies onto it!!!!!!!!

to connect your E900 to your p.c first install the 'Samsung PC Studio Suite' on the cd-rom that comes with the phone, then use the usb lead that also comes with the phone to connect the phone and pc. (USB end into USB slot on your pc, the other end goes into the slot on your phone where you normally put the phone charger lead). Once installed the 'PC Suite' has an icon that says 'connect phone?', click it and let it recognise your phone, name it and then when ever you want to download your photo's or text messages from your phone or upload music etc from the pc to the phone just click 'connect'. It's pretty simple really!! Good luck.

hi everyone - quick question: I just recently bought this phone and have had problems connecting it to my PC. The USB cord is detected on my phone (it says USB attached) but my computer does not seem to register it. to jack: i think you can probably get proper cases from phone shops. But i have had bad experience with those phone cases off ebay from hong kong. When it was on, the slider wouldnt work, because one of the cases was a little too big, so i just ended up getting rid of it. plus they do make it bulky. but yeah. try it if you want.

I think this phone is AWFUL - the touch screen is so sensitive, constantly deleting messages i'm writing, chopping off the end of numbers, connecting to internet, ringing people- when i don't want to . Really think twice before getting it - i have never been so frustrated with a phone! Try before you buy!

When new this phone needs to be totally drained of all battery life, so much that it will not switch on then left to charge until fully charged (overnight), but dont touch it while it's charging, then the battery will last for a week or so, It's a great phone!!!

has anyone had any camera problems with this phone?? about a month after i got it, the camera suddenly turned pink/purple.. the settings are all normal and the phone hasn't been dropped or damaged. i've tried taking out the battery, restting it, etc but no luck. i've sent it back to markways.com for repairs. from what i've heard, samsung warranties aren't that great.. but hopefully they can repair it for free like they should... but other than that, i really like this phone.

Hi people, games? no problems. 1. go there and try to download some games you like, but there are some might not work. and get the format of JAR ONLY! (some are ".sis" forget about those) 2. www.geocities.com/mangokun/jadmaker/jadmaker.htm­­ go here and download the thing called JAD MAKER and then use this software to make you a JAD file based on the jar file you downloaded before. (instruction is on the website, very simple) 3. now you have 2 files (jar & jad) and you are ready to go! use your data cable and the software came with your phone, drag the two files in to "Other Files" 4. next, enter *#9998*5282# on your phone and select number 3, and the password is 235282 then you can see the 2 files you just transfered. then SELECT .JAD (NOT .JAR) it will install by it self! then you are ready to play. E900 only gives you 4MB for JAVA game. I downloaded 19 games and plus the 2 was already in there and have total of 21 games!(memory full) Hope this will help you! anything you dont understand just ask me, or you can add me to your Messenger list if you want. guys, i was wondering about 2 problems fot this phone: 1. I thing that when i'm calling or when i'm speaking with this phone and its put on my ear, the touch pad will be activated by my cheek, am i right 2. When the phone is in my pocket, i think the same thing about the touch pad - it will be activated by my pocket and there will be a message on the display "the keyboard is locked..unlock bla bla" and this will take my battery's life? am i right or not? and the third 3. When i touch a sensitive key on the touch pad, when the option will be activated? OH MY GOD!!!!!!. i ve had this fone for a week now and i LOVE it...its heavenly. teh software is awesome and the look is so sleek and smart that it gives you an edge over everyone if u take it out in a room full of cell fone freaks.battery life is getting longer and longer as i been charging it for quite some time now. and now that i m comfy with teh touch buttons they r a breeze to use. Although i still think Samsung could have done better with teh headphones. Is it just me or is teh screen quality teh best around?

perhaps the 2G card is too big? i know some phones only take up to 1GB card. Also, the people complaining about battery life, i bet none of you charged it for the full 8 hours before turning it on at all.. because i did, and my battery life is fine.. i've let it go 5 days before charging it and it still wasnt empty. flight mode = for FLIGHTS.. etc.. wont interfere with navigation devices

reply to jon i have the D500, and when you first put the charger in, the light stays on for as long as it takes to charge. If you slide the phone up, then back down again, the light will go off as usual. i think this will be the same concept for the E900 too

Tyra this phone is a great phone i think it is brill the camera is great and so is the colour screen the music is loud enough to listen to its nice and sleek the touch pad is great its not hard to use at all i got this phone for christmas in black and gun metal grey. It also has bluetooth stereo where you can listen to music through a bluetooth stereo headset if you have one but it can not be a normal one because it wont work. you can also buy crystal cases for them what are brill to keep the phone like brand new. You can also change the layout of the menu and you can even change the skin colour to white or black on your display settings on the menu. The only thing it doesnot have is infared which you dont need because you have bluetooth. This phone also has around 5 built in games to play on like bobbie carrot lemans etc... Jay!!!

This phone is gorgeous and very stylish. I've got this phone last monday 19th of February 2007. When my mates saw my phone they said they gonna buy same phones like mines. The touch sensitive of this phone is good its not easy at all. The music player is good and quite loud. I never tried to put some MS documents to my phone but I'll try later. Well i recomend this phone to u pipz. This fone is especially for teenagers. This phone is not for adults aged 30 up. So when ur looking a descent phone buy this and I'm sure that you'll never regret that you'd buy this phone. Thnkx

This phone is outstanding! I've had this phone 4 about three weeks and it's been great so far. only problem I have is that I can't not dn load any of ringtones or wallpapers from the phne. It seems like it comes through ok but when I go to accept to dn load it to the phne it does not function properly. So I've called my service carrier and unfortunatly this phne is not avialable in the USA 4 them to fix the problem. Oh well I'm SOL!!!!!!!!!!

@Ash The police will not track it because they are lazy not because it's expensive. And the GSM company will not do it because they would rather have you buy a new one. There's no way for you to track your phone unfortunately.

Good points .... Got answering machine in a non-symbian phone which is not found in other non-symbian phones. slider mechanism works fine .. after 3 months of use i found nothing wrong in it. Touch sensitive buttons works fine .. no problem at all... just get use to it. Bad Points.. No themes available only two themes are provided with the phone this makes you boar very soon.. Tv-output option is in the phone but no tv cable provided with the phone.. ( i hope it is other regions ) As with all phones other then Nokia .. the charging time is longer, while the battery fully charged work fine provides reasonable time as with other phones of this group

After trying to use this phone for 4 months, I have given it away. When you press the shortcut key on the side for the camera, it either goes onto video or camera, whichever one you don't want and then you have to change it! You have to change to T9 before every text. My first Samsung, never again!

the e900 is a brill fone and i would rather have it than the k800 and the d900 because it looks nicer it has a tv out put but the k800 doesnot and the d900 does not look as nice so i advise people to get it there is hardly ne difference between the e900 and the d900 the only difference the d900 has a slight better camera but so wat bout the camera other stuff matter more it has long enough talk time you dont realy need to be on the phone for 3.5 hours do you I'D HAVE THE E900... I HAVE GOT THE E900 KNOW AND IT IS BRILL!!!

I have been using a D600 since a year...Can someone tell me about the battery life of E900 ....I mean talk time....the specs say 3hr 30 mins and that for D600 is 7 hrs ...pls advise ..should i change to E900?

I have this phone and I love it! Even after 7 months I still think this is the best phone ever! But there's just one problem, my phone is a little slow now loading the pictures because i have so much pictures and music. =( but its a very easy phone to use. My uncle has a nokia and it's sooooo hard to use. Its so hard just to change ringtone or to find the ring volume.

Hi, I just got this phone, like everyone said, the touch buttons will take a while to get used to but it's ok none th less. But I do have a prob...why doesn't my wap work? My last phone (e350) had a G at the top of screen the whole time n internet worked. On this, nothing will work. Can anyone please help me?? Thanks!

I love this phone! The buttons are something you need to get used too, but that doesnt take too long. I personally think there shouldve been more space for mp3s but you can always buy a memory card, like I did. 10/10 =]

The only difficulty i have found so far (may be me)i can,t seem to move pictures from my folder.to memory card or download .otherwise brilliant. overall great phone.

I've had this phone for about 6 months now, and like a few others on the forum I really like it EXCEPT the touch screen function. In all fairness, this was always going to take a while to get used to as it was new technology however it just feels to me that they haven't quite perfected this feature yet. Sometimes the touch buttons do nothing, sometimes they do a lot more than you've asked for and skip through loads of different screens! A lot of the time I'll be writing a text and press the delete text button which chucks me out of the message completely! And if you are not quick enough to say Yes when you get the 'Save to Drafts' option, you'll be starting your text message again! Overall I am really disappointed as I am now looking to buy a different phone - I would love to be able to keep it as I like the overall look / feel / design of the phone but I just cannot get on with the flaws in the touch screen buttons.

it is great... you need to get used to the buttons but after that its brilliamt. i have about 9 videos , 90 photos , 17 voice recordings and 2 mp3 songs and im not even half way through the memory yet !!!

I love this phone. its wonderful. people are asking if the touch keys go onto things in ur pocket, well no silly cz ur phone is on lock wen u slide it down. it took me some getting used to, but i rele like it. the only trouble i find is when i take a photo theyre always blurred, but thats it rele.

Becky - Couldn't agree more! I hate this phone and will have to change it before the end of my contract. I'm not the only one either - people with the same phone where I work make the same complaints about it. It'll be back to Sony-E for me asap!!!

I absolutely hate this phone. The touch screen is so sensitive that it even with the slightest touch it cancells whatever I'm doing. It also rings people on its own, delets messages without me asking it to, and it looks so dirty because of the shiny coating. I have already had enough and I've only had it for 3 months.

I have had the E900 for about 6 months now and have been very happy with it. Yes, the touch sensitive keys do take some getting used to, but the standby design is very clean. The camera is more than adequate for a mobile, and the audio bluetooth with the MP3 player is a daily use for me at the gym. No battery issues for me. Excellent supporting software that came with it as well. Now waiting for high res (4 or 5MP) camera, and touchdisplay with Mobile Windows. Iphone looks nice, but 2mp camera and Mac O/S ouch. Maybe if Nokia N95 and Iphone have a baby...

Anyone know if there's a way to make the calendar notify you somehow when it's a day with a task? Like an icon on the main menu, or something. Not much good having an electro-calendar tucked away if you're not told when there's something to do!

I got this phone as a free upgrade and returned it within a week. I liked the sound of the touch sensiive key pad...BUT believe me it is a nightmare!!! Within two days it had made three unwanted phonecalls, and even when I could see it was dialing them I was helpless to stop it. Writing Txt is as much of a nightmare, as the buttons are so sensitive it either deletes or sends and unfinsihed txt! Sometimes phoning people when all i wanted to do was read thier txt! Be prepared for a high bill if you get this phone!
