Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro - User Reviews

  • this phone is the worst phone first screen colors looks like ass compared to black shark 2 cpu doesnt overclock to 2.94 it overclock same as 855 battery drain way worse than black shark 2 worst OS made in human industry both black shark 2 and pro connect the controllers and play the phone will last only 45 mins camera is a disaster fingerprint need 2 mins to unlock compared to asus rog phone 2 sound are quiter compared to black shark 2

  • you can buy bluetooth headset

  • A gaming phone with no 3.5mm jack, that's real intelligent xiaomi . You minimize the size for people that don't care about size at all. Gamers usually have big pcs and laptops because they care about performance only. Gamers Don't care about size.

  • Its 1080p tho and why the hell would you use a phone to play PC games?

  • Which again proves that Xiaomi phones are nothing good. There is always something about their phones that suck compared to others, due to cost-cutting. Even for budget gaming flagships, the Black Shark 2 Pro loses to phones like the ZTE nubia Red Magic 3S, which costs slightly less and has way more features including a 90hz screen and headphone jack.

  • Just imagine This thing just 7 inch 4k gaming monitor And shitty 97$ low pc

  • Its only 240Hz touch sensing, meaning that you won't have input lag.

  • Dude you get a 240Hz display

  • for twice the price

  • Micro SD slot for a middle end device 😁

  • No 90hz screen + no headphone jack + no MicroSD card slot,+ small battery =this is no gaming phone wake-up xiaomi.

  • No 90hz screen + no headphone jack + no MicroSD card slot = lame excuse for a "gaming" phone The ROG Phone II smokes this piece of crap.

  • Galaxy s10

  • What phone are you using?

  • Probably the most stupid thing I read today. I game exclusively on PC at high refresh rate and have absolutely no problem watching a Blu Ray movie a moment later. For interactive content the higher the refresh rate the better but for movies higher framerates introduce the ugly soap opera effect while also making it more difficult for filmmakers to hide imperfections. Just recall the issues with 48FPS Hobbit version and it's clear as a day it's detrimental to the experience. There's a good reason why movies are recorded at 24FPS and it'd be easy to record it at higher framerate with some tweaks to scene lightning since you also need to remember that a camera recording at higher framerate lets in less amount of light per frame. For gaming sure, higher refresh rate is always better and console 30FPS is borderline unplayable but for movies 24FPS is there to stay for a very good reason.

  • Yeah, 60 fps is smoother. You also lose most of the motion blur with it. I like 24+ fps, and it's not as bad as some people point out. As for the phone itself, this one looks like a phone with kids' protective casing applied. Bad design choice IMO.

  • Sorry my phone lags so much

  • hdv

  • Im used to 60fps, I can't watch a movie now because they are all made in 24fps it looks choppy as f*ck. So you must be used to 23fps, i would recomend you to watch any YouTube video that compares 30fps vs 60fps and you will see the difference.

  • Sweet looking blue & orange

  • We have 4K-UHD 65" TV, I installed it 3 months ago din't notice any defference its just a big screen with sharp detail.

  • try the nearest electrical store that have different kinds of tv, ask the staff to show you the difference between normal tv & 4K/UHD tv. 4K/UHD tv normally have higher refresh rate than normal tv, hope you can see the difference

  • If you need to be wired, I suggest getting the USB-C to USB-C/3.5mm jack combo adapter. USB-C port is used on devices today to be an all-in-one/multipurpose I/O port so no need to sacrifice extra space for a 3.5mm jack. UFS 3.0 phone with a microsd card slot is, well I'd say unnecessary for the time being. There's a huge difference in transfer speed between the two. Use cloud or external storage to backup files.

  • Both phones are not available in my country or any kind of gaming phone you have to order it online.

  • Nah my dude, the human eye can only percieve 69.99 hz of oxygen per liter of co2

  • To display more than 2 source frames you need at least 240fps

  • In my opinion you need a new pair of glasses. You should go to any phone store and check out the OnePlus 7 pro or the Rog 2 displays in person, then come and leave a comment.

  • What's the point of high refresh rate when human eyes can't see past 23 frames per second, so 60Hz is plenty fine for me, the 90Hz and above rate are just usesless in my opinion.

  • rog phone is better for the "true gaming device" xiaomi is better for money but there's some really black point 3.5mm jack no design pretty ugly no sd slot and damn heavy 205g and rog 2 is 6000 and triple usb c and jack but 240g not big diff and u can even find some 12/512 one with 700euro then these 600 one so better go for that

  • A "gaming" phone with no 3.5mm jack? LOL

  • At least you can get this phone for a fair price.

  • Gorilla glass 6 or no? No card slot?! 3.5mm... come one! Also isn't Li-Ion heavier than Li-Pol? Seems like a bad choice for a gaming phone.

  • Yes, you are correct. Xiaomi invested money in Black Shark but have no controlling stakes.

  • No nfc?

  • Please GSM Arena we need review for this phone

  • Black Shark is not part of Xiaomi

  • This Pro version is supposed to have 90hz screen refresh.

  • Is this phone capable of 5g net work.

  • Does this phone has an always on display? How do I get this working?

  • Already brought ít and pretty happy with it, few things it lacking of are: No water-resistant. : In Which you can't said much for its price. No 5G yet: about the future proof. The battery is fine for its own specs, no fancy 120/144ghz refresh rate screen. Just be honest to yourself, with that much refresh rate for the phone? Are you being serious to yourself that will help you in your shooting games? Me neither, it's all about your skill/reflexion. Remember when Counter Strike 1.6/Source ppl still won the world champion on the 60ghz screen?

  • Xiaomi don't compromise on quality, but they are committed to making only 5% margins on their hardware unlike Apple who make enormous margins. Xiaomi also don't waste money on consumer advertising (they actually make the best product, not try to brainwash people into believing its the best product). They also don't have the huge number of customer services reps necessary to deal with customers who can't even turn their devices on properly as Apple have to.

  • You are stupid then, if you can afford ROG2 just buy it rather than comparing it to Black Shark 2 pro. Obviously the price said it all about the performance.

  • This is for budget gamers. Xiaomi has given much according to it's price

  • no audio jack , small battery unacceptable for gaming phone

  • Gaming phone with only 60 Hz screen? Go away Xiaomi, you are not even a competition.

  • maybe 4-6 hours

  • I'm not sure about wireless audio because that creates lag which makes fps and rhythm games unplayable. I think just keeping the dongle on your earbuds are the best bet.

  • does it have a dual app like a regular xiaomi phone?

  • agree, imo 5000Mah is enough

  • this phone is 4x4 mimo?

  • If no MIUI then i'll get it next year. Hate the ads.

  • Ethernet Support ?

  • No words can describe this phone wonderful amazing perfect Thank you Xiaomi for this phone

  • cant believe !

  • 1920fps 😝

  • Need bigger battery.

  • Now i have Huawei P8 and this is the most strong smartphone i had ever seen but his time end , and my new phone must be with aluminium body nothing else , this is one of the rare smartphones with aluminium body for last 2 years with superb specifications .

  • For Gaming phone is small, asus - nubia use 5-6000 battery.

  • This phone is coming to Malaysia. But recently Xiaomi Malaysia said you can't use their SC with this phone. That's a joke right. WTF. I don't think all the states has Black Shark SC. I would love to get it but does the company has SC in Penang, Malaysia?

  • Anyone tested in real life see if it overheats? Gaming phones needs to be able to stand prolong gaming without overheating. Also how is the camera?

  • 4000mah is small? 256GB is more than enough for games And you can just buy a wireless headphone Besides it come with a dongle

  • It's 2019 an there isn't a head jack?! They can add all this extra stuff but not A head jack ...so stupid I'd go with a Asus rog2

  • No, pretty decent amount

  • SD card is slow and forget about headphone jacks on premium phone that is the first thing they will ditch

  • If you don't know then you don't need it. I do have lots of uses for faster interface and I don't feel obliged to enumerate them here.

  • the only downside I can see hare is the lack of a headphone jack. Otherwise, everything looks good. UFS 3.0 storage and built in storage of 256GB, there's no need for a slow read/write SD card. My phone has only 128GB internal storage and I have high storage games like mobile legends, darkness rises read racing 3 and others and I barely used half of the 128GB onboard storage.

  • Currently this is the most powerful and the best value for money phone. Sadly we have to wait a little longer to become available, online shops selling much higher than original price. You cant find a phone to compare within this price tag

  • You need 3.1 usb as faster interface on a phone because of ???

  • No sd card. No 3.5mm jack.10/05

  • Too bad, Xiaomi doesn't add any faster USB interface like USB 3.1. I better buy an old flagship, for the price 450USD I'd prefer a Galaxy Note 9 6/128GB brand new.

  • 4000 is small ???

  • Go to z6 pro then

  • But 450$ USD yes please

  • Its 12GB Ram not 12 GB of storage space you dummy dum

  • if you have a laptop or computer, you can temporarily transfer you medias there via usb cable and copy it to the new device

  • seriously no head phone jack in a gaming phone

  • so what is the screen display response time ? is it 1ms or 4 ms or 5ms?

  • oh really? i got 1348 songs with 12.10GB size... you want me to back it up on whatever drive in the sky it is? do you have any idea how long i will take to back up and download it again? not sure? or you'll just say it depends on signal?...sd card is important instant u can use anywhere no signal needed no sync needed its just there period period period don't argue with people who got important files and big files on there sd card... because you will not understand...

  • Dear Can you give clear feed back, I liked the Specification of this phone and I wanted to buy one.

  • then don't buy it and just ignore it

  • This is Gaming phone??? Hahaha small battery, no 3.5 jack, no SD card. No xiaomi this is not Gaming phone.

  • No sd-cardslot, no headphone jack, no thanks!

  • it's probably some interpolated crap... but at least 960fps might then be good

  • Please Xiaomi launch this phone globally fast. We need it. I wanted the K20 pro but it's still not in my country but let this one come. I can buy one from Jumia.com if it comes there.

  • 1920fps video, wow!

  • ..it was the Black Shark Helo Cooling case Concept who has one.

  • correction the cooling case doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. So yeah, my apologies to whoever read my rant.

  • The specs are very good tho I think it is quite bad it doesn't have a 90hz or 120hz display anyways great phone

  • when will it be launched is SEA.

  • Xiaomi's approach to gaming phones, using the Black Shark brand, is getting quite effective. This experiment from Xiaomi is working through this Black Shark 2 Pro. Sure, there's no official IP rating and no one's brave enough to test, then declare whether the phone can survive a dip or two. An official IP rating will increase the price, and please be careful with handling your phones. The build is aluminum and glass, it survived Zack's bending test, which proves that it's durable. It still doesn't seem to have an NFC support, which is DEVASTATING to MOST people, but "anandtech" declares that it does, idk if it's true or not, link can be found below, it's in their specs table. And no 3.5mm jack, which breaks the heart of our fellow "hardcore gamers" out there, but it's not really gone, you know. (I'll tell you why, so continue reading.) The Black Shark 2 Pro sports some few incremental changes. •SD855+ (No additional description necessary. 😏) •12GB RAM LPDDR4X + 256GB Internal (Top model), UFS 3.0 storage (Faster Read-Write Operations) •Replaced the previous model's Samsung GM1 camera sensor with Sony IMX586, still sporting a 48MP sensor (48MP Mode in the Camera App is available now, too), it is also famous because of its great low-light capabilities, though the quality always falls under the algorithms, but the potential is there and we know it. •Video recording also improved, the most promising is the 1920fps@720p slow-motion (yep, it's legit) and 1080p at 120fps and 240fps. Not too shabby, right? •Still sporting Joy UI on top of Android Pie, it's like a gamer-esque MIUI, full-screen gestures are top-notch. •And the list goes on... Though the Black Shark Blokes are not known to be very "customer-centric", i.e. their customer support kinda suck (exaggeration intended), but that doesn't mean the phone's user experience is down right piece of trash, they are all well aware that one flop from their user experience service WILL end their career, they must be just very busy counting all the money earned from their proprietary accessories, 🤭. Kits are advertised from here to there. For me, spending an additional €100± is fine, for the sake of having that "hardcore gaming" vibe. Familiar phrase? "Hardcore gaming/gamers", have a tendency to blow-up if you remind them that this phone doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. But what if I tell you that this phone have a headphone jack, just in the form of a €45± cooling case. "What?! A cooling case? Nonsense! The phone itself has a Liquid Cooling 3.0 technology, that cooling case is useless! 😠" But, what if I tell you that it's not just a cooling case. It's also a dock-like system, where you can easily slide in the proprietary gamepads, and this cooling case, which is powered by the phone itself thru the USB-C port, has a 3.5mm jack and usb-c alongside each other. Now you can do "hardcore gaming" while charging, and using your old-school headphones, for just €45±, just add €55± for the gamepads and complete that "hardcore gaming" experience. Black Shark really "solved" that dilemma by offering you quite a good bargain, and I don't disagree with that, I could always use the dongle they provide to save myself some penny, and not whine about the lack of the headphone jack on the phone. It's quite a marketing strategy, and they're damn good at it. The battery lasts quite long with casual use, of course. But "hardcore gamers" are worried that... the 4000mAh will be easily drained-out by the 855+ due to intense "hardcore gaming" sessions. Read the last line again, you're old enough to know what to do. Gaming over 2hrs is bad for your health, seriously. So will this be a great daily driver? The Black Shark 2, not so much... But this one, the Black Shark 2 Pro, for me, YES. Legend: ± give or take Reviews available as of 03/08/2019 (dd/mm/yyyy) *Not sorry for painful sarcasms*

  • the phone looks not bad price group is good too the only problem it is: spacefish it battery capacity

  • Exactly nicely said. Kudos for you my friend.

  • Man cloud storage everywhere. What is in cloud storage wont get lost. And you can download it from any device from any part of this planet. This point of statement is dead.

  • Man its that hard to buy some external portable hard drive or other thing where you can store your memories of past which you have on your SD Card??? I dont think so. And jack is done for good. I am only glad more brands will follow this trend. Its nothing but ancient technology which has to be removed so everybody can work on something more usefull. By the way this phone uses awesome stereo thus the jack was gone. And for the rest you can use dongle and adapter to connect your earplugs to a charging slot. Or use wireless earphones. Its a lot better than being wired like Xmas tree. Trust me.

  • This is a significant update from the previous model, their move from Samsungs GM1 to Sony's IMX camera sensor is a dramatic increment on the camera performance.

  • My friend phone with this specs for only 400 bucks is awesome.

  • LOL only a tzroll would need memory slot aon a 128 or 256GB device omg LOL.

  • Xiaomi Black Shark Pro 2 vs Asus ROG Phone 2, which is better ?

  • Because us and china are in trade war buying chinese phones will hurt your contry's economy

  • Truly truly I love the look of this phone. Class and metal finish at the back I even like the front design too. The camera is very decent and is the most powerful gaming phone at the moment. I love this phone.

  • Lenovo z6pro better SD855 plus is just like SD855 with CPU overclock root is still same in gaming

  • Wow!! Too bad we Americans are stuck with garbage for over inflated prices. Why can't these Chinese manufacturers add bands 2/4/5/7/12/66/71 etc to be compatible w American carriers for once??!!

  • The UFS storage upgrade is a wise choice. I am looking forward for this phone, now. The User Experience, though, I am still not looking forward to experience good customer service and support with the OS as reported by existing previous Shark models. I'll be taking a leap of faith on the cameras, too. But the performance-to-cost is insanely mind-blowing, especially the highest variant (12GB+256GB). Looking forward for you guys' official review of this phone. 😘

  • The same site also reported an outdated Camera Spec list. So, yeah.

  • u got 50/50 chance...it can be damage or maybe not that 50% is not bad...how about when you're none sd card phone damage? does it have chance? guess not...next! question pls...

  • Can't say I love the look of this phone too much (maybe in black is ok) but there's one thing I love and that is the small bezel on top with the front facing camera, best solution ever so no notch or pop up nonsense and it looks nice, I am sure gamers will appreciate that.

  • What if your sd card is damaged?

  • Best IFF 5G Capable.

  • how can you back up your phone if you drop dead your phone before thinking of backing it up? can you send the file to Google drive or whatever sync it is without internet connection?...and otg oh wow so every minute i have to back up my picture files? in case phone accidentally fk up?...or maybe u all just using your phone for playing thats why you don't getting the point of having sd card?...

  • Loud and clear sir 👍😉

  • Thank you for correcting that information .

  • You can always have back up storage like cloud storage, google drive, and using USB OTG.

  • So ugly.

  • How long can this 4000mah battery last while playing games.

  • The touch sensitivity is 240Hz, not the display. The display is 60Hz only.

  • How about backing it up??????

  • Best gaming phone so far. The Specs, liquid cooling and the design is the Best!

  • Look, these are the phones are not for everyone. This is 2019. Everything in your phone get synced constantly. Your photos, videos, documents, message, contacts everything. So, if you keep them synced, you shouldn't be worried losing them. What else do you keep on your sd card!! I guess nothing more. Besides, I think it's even good idea of not having an option for sd card. Why? Let me explain. Think about iPhones. When you lose an iPhone, you lose almost everything on that phone, unless you synced those data to iCloud. Same story here. You lose your phone, you lose everything with it. Your data are safe on cloud or your local backed up HDD. Hope you get the point. I prefer this idea of not having an option for sd card. This way my data might even get stolen. It concerns me.

  • very well said may friend... i agree... thats my point too about sd card... when phone dies everything important files inside the will be lost forever... i guess people who is here reading and not giving a danm cre about sd card doesn't have important files on there phone... they only care about playing sht n stuff that isn't really important...

  • No jack and sd card is beyond moronic at this point. inb4 'muh you don't possibly need more than 256GB'. Actually people said that about original OnePlus with it's 64GB version. Also if my (now 5 year old) OnePlus One dies, my photos or other important files are screwed, which wouldn't be the case if it had the damn SD card slot. Not including a headphone jack in this humongous phablet is obvious stupidity that goes without saying.

  • but i must say i really really like this phone the specs and and the liquid cool thing really helps for gaming...im using pocophone f1 global and trying to find a good phone to buy since poco f1 is know for the screen issue... unfortunately this phone didn't convince me to buy it...so i guess im good with my poco...

  • Buy rog phone 2 for 900 euro. Blackshark 2 costs only 430 euro. Keep it in mind.

  • Well considering the Nubia red magic 3 and many other 'gaming' phones don't have microsd expansion, I'm not surprised at all.

  • touch delay not refresh rate

  • 240 hz display is going to drain that poor 4000 mAh battery so fast . If they insist on high refresh rate then upgrade the battery to 5000 or even 6000 mAh like ASUS did .

  • 4000mAh battery too small for a gaming phone.

  • A gaming phone?!!! Where is the headphone jack, you morons

  • Or you could just OTG files to a dongle??? So SD isn't that important

  • sd card for quick transfer files? LOL 🤣😂🤣&#128514;🤣

  • don't blame for microsd card, blame for the 3.5mm jack is logical.

  • Well, you'll need SD Card for quick transfer of files

  • I don't understand why you need a sd card with 128/256GB of storage, but the battery is no "pro", middle range phones have the same battery capacity although it's really heavy.

  • How can you call it a gaming phone when it has no 3.5mm jack nor a microsd slot? Black fake 2 pro more like it.

  • Compared to the Black Shark 2 I don't see what the difference is? What makes this phone a pro model? 🤷🏿‍♂️

  • That's 24p hz touch refresh rate. That's the time it takes to register the touch, not change the frame

  • This is a great phone who needs a card slut with 256 GB? Ha and the 3.5 mm is old fashion just get over it

  • its touch refresh rate not screen refresh rate.it should be more responsive but its still 60hz in the screen so you wont see more frames

  • Hmm okay, maybe i waiting ROG phone ll release in my country

  • And worse, Xiaomi promised for headphone jack returning on future Black Shark phones. They stated this weeks after Black Shark 2 release.

  • 720@1920fps slow motion! is it real thing? or mistakenly written that.?

  • No, it's not. It only has 240hz touch sensing, not refresh rate.

  • This is poor compared to ZTE or Asus. Small battery and only 60 Hz screen, Xiaomi fail.

  • I think a gaming phone is still a gimmick.

  • OMG😱 720p@1920fps🙄

  • You're talking about the 240hz touch sensing not screen refresh rate. Those are completely different things. Lol

  • What a stupid phone pro huh? Really? No 3.5 jack no sd card slot? Jezz i just waited for nothing!!...

  • Indeed. And a "pro" at that, lol.

  • Seriously, can 240 hz refresh rate? if yes,i will buy

  • No FM radio? No thanks... skip.

  • touch sensing and screen refresh rate are two different things, both have 240hz TOUCH sensing but I like Xiaomi's more cause of price.

  • 240 is the "touch sensing" refresh rate, that differs from the display's refresh rate

  • Am I reading it wrong or does it can capture 1920fps revultionary AMAZING ULTRA MEGA SUPER Slow-Mo (More like freezing time) video?

  • Lets hope there would be no adds on this phone

  • Asus:Our ROG || has 120 hrz refresh rate. Price 900 Xaomi:Well who cares? Our's has 240. Price 400

  • A "gaming" phone that has - no 3.5mm jack - no expandable storage slot Okay. Next.

  • The battery is kinda small tho.

  • Still no headphone jack, yet they call it a gaming phone. When will companies realise that a headphone jack is a must for gaming phones?

  • best phone in my views except no memory card slot

  • even internal memory is 1000tb but memory card slot is compulsory.

  • except for its battery, this is the rog phone 2 killer!

  • No memory card slot, no buy
