This'is not a mobile phone, it's a damn pice of garbage! >:[ very very low class camera, no softwear, no keypad, no downloading from net, it often hangs, always shut down automaticly after few times of browsing, low battery, low speaker, low sound while phone call..blah blah this phone should be banned. please go after nokia or sony sony ericsson instead of useless philips. this is a freaky cellphone i ever used!! i used the phone very carefully. With in 1 month it started making me irritated with its problem.Till 9month i was tolarating its problems!! but when the limit of my tolerance was over... i went to service centre!! within 9months i had to take it to service centre & they fixed(so called fixing i guess) the problems. then within next month it became a great headache for me. Anytime without any notice its hangs!! The problem is too irritating that sometimes i want to trowout the cellphone!!... i dnt understand why still "Philips" producing such nonsense kind of cellphone!! i noticed all of their cellphones becomes headache for each users within few days...!!

why is this phone called a pda i cant get?cause only touching the screen and openning files is not the pda,but the application like pda should have been there.i bought the phone to watch mp4s in a greater frame rate,but found very poor,the camere quality is the poorest,there is no 3gp function,and nothing could be downloaded from net of this generation. the authority must look for these fault nor it would be a great disasterous production of Philips ever.thanks...dr james from dhaka b'desh.

I haven't buy this phone yet but interested to have one. It only miss 3g and wifi. I'm a samsung user now and happy to use it but the lack of battery life which sometime frustating me. I wish there's a phone outhere with Samsung features & design and philips battery life

I agree with some commentary. The customer service of Philips is VERY bad. it is now more that 1 Month that I ask Philips were can I buy a battery charger for the phone (my was stolen) but I did not get any answer!!! The phone is nice but I can not use it now....if I could go back on the time I would not buy it again.

Philips is an dutch organisastion, everything of philips is in dutch(many in china too *Cheap for philips*) But in the dutch here i never see phones like this just some old models thats sick :'(

How could it's camera be so poor. 2MP does not really mean anything....I am sure its camera can not ever produce the wallpaper which comes as default...isn't it cheating? I am not going to recommend anyone to buy this (master of none) phone.

Scandor, Thanks for the info. I appreciate it very much. The foremost reason why I would buy a cellphone is its batt life. I hate charging every other day like most of the brands and bringing charger if you'l go away for a couple of days. I have waited long for the 960 but was dissappointed by its batt performance. My distributor have replaced my unit twice in a row already but the batt life is nowhere near around what is written in the tech spec/manual reason why I'm looking for an upgrade. I'm even contemplating to downgrade to Xenium 9@9a but it's nowhere to be seen here in PI also. I look forward to your next update. Regards, George

I didn't buy it yet. I read all your comments. But I think, one should not buy a phone with so much controversial comments from the users. True, it is cheap for all the specifications that it offers. Dear Georges: this model is not yet available in the philippines. I just got a demo unit to try it out. I can't say yet that its an upgrade to the 960. Will advise you in a later stage. It certainly has much bigger screen, saves pictures faster, works flawless, has much louder mp3 through the speaker boxes (2) than the 960. But batterylife is less than of 960. Regarding phonebook, i can't see anything wrong with it. i also copied it from my sim, and all is perfectly well in alphabetical order. 1000 entries and very easy to find the name you need through 'search'. Certainly this phones works a bit different, therefore : READ YOUR MANUAL !!!

I bought S900 for its features. However, after one week of using it, I regret my purchase. The phonebook is a mess to work with until u download yr sim card phonebook. Yr nightmare begins. First of all, if u key in new contact via the phone, yr new contact does not arrange in alphabetical order. This is as good as nothing bcos u hv to search for it instead of scrolling thru the alphabet. In times, there will a duplication of contact. U will find the same contact from SIM and Phone appears on phonebook. It will be worst if yr fren insert his Sim and yr phonebook will be crowded with his contacts as well. U could not save missed calls in yr phonebook by a click too. Secondly, the phone turn off by itself. And not to mention short battery life, 710mAh. I bought it from AD. Brought back to AD for service, they claimed they were not trained to service the phone and give me another number to call. I received the same reply from the another number as well. I wrote an email to Philips, received a call from them but "TALK NO ACTION". The guys agreed to call back but found missing in action. I would rather trade in and buy a new phone. Philips is the worst phone that I have ever used. Bad in terms of product and customer service.

I was looking for value and bought s900 regardless of brand. The major letdown of this phone is the basic phonebook. The essential phonebook does not arrange your contacts in alphabetical order and erases contacts. It mess up your SIM and phone entries. This is a nightmare for me. Secondly, u can forget about hand writing input. Using the virtual keyboard is much faster. Chinese hand writing recognition is very good tho. User interface is responsive. Speaker is good. Battery life sucks. Service centre also sucks. Reception wise is loud and clear. Screen is beautiful. For those like me who use touch screen the first time, using one hand to on this phone is impossible! Unless Philips improve on the phonebook, otherwise i will be getting K750i soon.

well TKbP ... u need to resize ur pic b4 u want to use it as wallpaper on ur mobile!! the size can be 176x220 or smaller than this size...! well can anyone give me any link where i can get free java games to download in my mobile by USB cable?? oh ... sorry4 da comments i made b4.after using it for few days now i realize that its cam quality is not bad ;) but its battery life need to b more! The mobile is soo cool :D ...sometime it makes trouble but those r OK!!

Hi to NIRW, you can't see the image because the image size is different. it has to be exactly 170x220. So it's best to crop the images to the right size before you upload it to the Philips phone

i just go tthe phone also.. and i was trying to send it to the US time cuz i got this phoen in asia.. but everytime i adjust the clock seetting it tends to fast forwawrd an hour by itself after like 30 minutes... does anybody know what's going on ?

the phone is being launched in HK retailing at HK1990. Yes handwriting recogniion but has a delayed effect (as compared to o2mini). Its faster to just tap the keyboard. Oh it does not have a phone pad (like 02) hence you need to use 2 hands while sms-ing. But in terms of the size & 2pix picture. Its has a good size & weight.

the price in the philippines will be about u.s. $ 250.-. So very affordable and indeed, who needs 3G ?? I think this is complete enough. I down load my isp emails and answer them several times a day with my philips 960. Costs almost nothing, certainly not battery life.

After contacting Phillips, I have found out that this phone will definately NOT be released in the UK. This is because it is aimed at a Japanese/ Korean market so therefore the phone will have software such as a language converter- eg. from korean to english. Therefore it would not be appropiate to release the phone in the UK.

Looks great hope that battery is 300h in standby. I am still using Philips Ozeo... and still rocks fine after 4 years (when I bought HIM battery lasted for 7 days after hard talk) but I am ready for new thing from my Philips. I adore long life battery, that is reason I like Philips.

Am i the only one who finds this very strange, but we have 120 people here on this board, who gave average score of 8.2 for this phone features and performance. Ok i can see design is easy to rate, you see it you like it. But performance???? Ok none of you had phone in your hand, or even in 10 m proximity of your left foot, so how do you rate performance. Hmmm, i really didnt like the email features but Calendar was cool, a bit slow for my taste. Ok now does anyone knows where on the web should this phone be sold. You know i live in US, and we only have b/w, no-bt, no-ir clam shell phones, that come from one of the big 4 companies.

The Philips s900 comes with hand writing recgnition, bluetooth and MP3. Cant complain for the price its retailing.......there is always a market for High tech phones but nicely priced......i am definately getting this one and understand that it will be launched in Mid of July 2007!Value Buy is what I am looking for and not paying for brands that just ask too much without content! Keep up the good work Philips!

I'm a fan of xenium series. Hope Philips will make this kind pda-phone look with xenium battery life in the near future. And if it's a WCDMA/HSDPA phone and have WIFI, that's just a very big plus. Xenium is just getting better and better ;)

hey,most of you people dont lyk this fone,just check its slim ness and stye.. its sleek n smart. if the fone is a symbian then it would not respond quikly, n 3g is a waste of everything.this fone will be cheap n possibly rule/lead the market for sometime.and listen,,the SE P910i was not a symbian not Windows mobile 5.0 n not 3g, nor edge but it boosted the market.but p910i was expensive n this will be cheap Catch ya later!!!

This is the phone I have been waiting for finally! It is great,originally I wanted the Sony Ericsson M600 but it had no camera, but his phone has one, it is touchscreen and it looks great. Hope to get one soon. And by the way how can you work out if it will be released it the UK?
