vivo X21 UD - User Reviews

  • Is this phone upgradeable to android 10 in the future officially? How to fix its shaky videos (because the absent of EIS/OIS)?

  • in indonesia the price drop to $155 its really awesome price

  • Just received and updated to Android 9 on 07-19-19 on my unlocked Vivo X21 UD.... here in Canada.

  • android pie 9 for india global x21ud ??????????????????????

  • Yes it will geht android 9

  • mine wi-Fi is not working for sometimes now.... some one can help?

  • Is this phone upgradable to android 9.0? or will i get any android update of android pie or 9.0 in the future?

  • You can use the Always On Display feature to get basic notifications when the phone is locked and screen is off.

  • The specs on the phone look very good, it has everything that I look for in a mobile, a good cpu, decent camera with f/1.8 aperture, but at $500 the unit is extremely over priced when you take into consideration that in today's mobiles even in the most basic ones there are a few things that every unit must have, fast charging, USB Type C and the most important of all NFC, if it doesn't have NFC it's not worth even looking at it. For the specs it has this unit should not be priced over at or over $250

  • it has a Lockscreen Notifications like iphone.

  • yes thank you for ur guidenes..this phone dont have some indicator light for notifications pop up

  • X21 is much better than op6

  • There is no LED notification light. You can set the phone to use the camera flash as a notification light....

  • Reviews on x21ud said there is led notification light. I can't seem to find it. Any ideas?

  • Yep, you are right. The AKM AK4376 is a much better alternative than those found in Qualcomm or Mediatek solutions. It is a dedicated DAC + Headphone amplifier so sound is excellent for an average listener. However this audio chip will not be able to drive high impedance over the ear headphones. The number of steps in volume is much less than ESS counterpart and hence you cannot control volume at a very granular level. Audiophiles will prefer ESS solutions in phones like one found in Vivo X5Max, Lenovo Vibe X3, LG V30+ as they not only provide better sonic but the headphone amplifier part is way powerful.

  • There have been days when Vivo launched X5Max in India at INR 33K. A year down line it was available for INR 17K. Same for Vivo V5Plus as it was initially launched at INR 28K later available for INR 15K from Vivo's own online store. Drop a CC and you get additional 10% discount. I have seen those days. I wont be surprised if X21UD after an year be available at half the launch price. Mobile phone prices depreciates a lot with time.

  • Hi, It is same DAC as that used in X9/V5 Plus. Specifically, AKM AK4376. Don't expect mind blowing audio but it won't be bad either, it's audio output over headphones is quite good.

  • Yet to get the details of DAC (Is it quard-dac ?) used by Vivo in this model, more comments on audio hardware are expected from respectable forum readers.

  • UD fingerprint is not working if your finger is wet.

  • Dear RishiGuru, X21 will sell it's last at 25K price point and very unlikely to go less than that.

  • X21 is available at 30-31K if you bargain hard at smaller shops. It is worth it at that price. I have bought it at 30K today.

  • Guess, Plz suggest me. X21 Or One Plus 5T? I don't like OP6. I used it. Plz give me your opinions friends

  • Idiotic pricing. Why would I spend 36k on this when op6 is available at 35k!

  • Actually the cost to hardware specification of OnePlus 6 is even better than X21, hence I believe it is natural that people will prefer Oneplus over X21.

  • Actually the cost to hardware specification ratio is decent. There is some great hardware packed in the X21 that can compare with phones that are in the $800+ range, not to mention features like the under display fingerprint reader that would greatly add to the cost of a phone such as an Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy if they included that feature.

  • Ip68 rating adds 100 usd to anyphone vivo x 21ud would have been justified if it would have ip68 rating

  • Vivo always launch their products with a lot of hype and insane high pricing. This a very clever marketing policy as they want to generate profit now from offering the under display fingerprint technology which no other manufacturers provide in India. Internationally Vivo is keeping the naming convention simple and calling the X21UD as X21. But at INR 36K it is just too much and goes into OnePlus 6 territory. But if we wait for 8 to 10 months the X21 at least in India will be available at half the current price. I have their X5Max, V3Max, V5Plus as I believe their flagships are excellent phones, but always buy them late i.e 10 months after launch and usually end up paying half the original price. As such when X21 will be available at INR 18K, I will pick one as it will not only a great phone it will also be a great VFM product.

  • Having a UD fingerprint is insane. Loving this

  • everything is ok but when you hear the price you groan. This is priced at OP6 level . thats insane!

  • Can be affordable if it also have SD 845 & USB Type C

  • i think x21 is better than one plus.

  • One plus 6 is better choice

  • At this price, USB type C must be provided. Also, phone is overpriced. With SD 660, 30K INR was good. OP6 makes sense here.

  • Thanks. Finally Vivo has announced the availability of Vivo X21 UD in India. Available exclusively on Flipkart @ INR 36k. However they are keeping the naming simple here and calling it X21. Price is very steep as its main competition is Nokia 7 Plus available at INR 25K. Should have been great if X21 was wisely priced at INR 26k.

  • Check here:

  • How is the UD experience on X21. Due you have to press your thumb on screen pretty hard for it to recognize? Or is it slow to recognize?

  • It's stereo speaker

  • The camera is good enough. video recordings are good enough. Battery life is good enough. Funtouch OS is a pleasant change of pace from stock android. The UD isn't perfect but gets the job done. Same with face unlock. It has theming, font changing, and wallpapers. I actually like the quick settings at the bottom now. Too bad there's no developer support. I would recommend this phone to anyone in my circle. Terrific

  • this phone in what's new ? only under display fingerprint ?,,😂😂

  • already using it. really it's an amazing phone yet from vivo.

  • Nice phone

  • If you dont know abt the phone or anything then how could you say that, it better to kept your mouth shout and do your own work... If you dont like then dont pass a wrong comments..

  • yuk.... You also live in same you dont know o what

  • yes m agree with you... Now day people are fool in cheap price they need good phone.. As like mi

  • Gsmarena, A Detailed review is appreciated. Thank you

  • Isn't micro usb antiquated & outlawed, these vivo folks are real birdbrain dump folks,,else they would have the brilliant USB C on these devices!!

  • Yuk, Micro USB!! In which world they live?

  • Never Never NEVER buy a first gen tech device unless it comes from a large-scale manufacturer that actually has an decent engineering team. There will be many bugs with the underscreen fingerprint technology that you'll have to deal with as an early adopter but I do applaud them for being first to market (they will be the guinea pig) and as a user I don't want to be a beta tester for them while paying through the @$$. If they could just ditch the notch up top, make a top chin with the same height as the bottom chin and use that space for stereo speaker setup, add in USB C and drop the price by $100 because you don't need to use a display with retarded notch they would have a serious serious winner.

  • Micro USB ? WTF ! I which era Vivo is living ?

  • Best comment.

  • What a waste only using SD660 n 3200 battery u only pay for the look or the phone, mid end phone in high end price compare to xiaomi

  • and try to sell it at €550-600 try to make a fortune..haha silly phone company. I wouldn't take a chance at all

  • does not have usb type-c. Aggghhh.... :(

  • That's really too bad to hear about the under-screen FPS. I guess its not ready for prime-time yet.

  • Costly for a SD660, been using for 2 weeks now. Quite disappointed with the in-screen fingerprint reader, half of the time it doesn't work. Face unlock doesn't identify if you taken off your beard or wearing glasses. Half baked product, sold to consumers.

  • Well according to GSMArena it does not have 4K video recording.

  • Before u comment something check the official website of vivo. Then u know only the what u ask. Gsmarena dont have the exactly info ..

  • Ofcourse have 4k video recording.

  • 550 euro for a snap 660? it can stay on the counter.

  • Try Aliexpress

  • "best and better than iPhone?"

  • ...What?

  • Which store can I buy this I've only seen on eBay?

  • This phone already for sale on eBay. £542

  • china phone are the bust and butter than iphone x

  • Just need to know before i buy this phone , which one better vivo X21 UD or vivo v9? Can u give suggestion and resson?

  • Oppo, Vivo and One Plus r all under the same company. They all use each other's design and hardware. OP6 will be nothing but a rebtanded Oppo R series phone with a SD 845.

  • I want this phone.

  • Man when people made phone with full E-Sim no simcard will be needed and it will have no sim slot do you think they will ask 1000 eur extra because its something unique? No i dont think so. Same goes for a face scanner when first time unveiled or first phone with headphone jack. You have not even a slightest idea what do you talking about.

  • This is the kind of revolutionary tech I like seeing! Granted the first few iterations are bound to be slower than your traditional fingerprint sensor, but a step forward into the future of soon to be near 100% bezeless phones. Next is overcoming the challenge of the front facing camera and sensors, which I hear is in the works of being mastered as well.

  • This is the first phone with built in screen fingerprint reader.

  • I want this one with build in screen fingerprint reader.

  • now i know but still they have ability to make good product yet they copy other's work

  • What? No 4K?

  • A very nice notching. 550 for a brick without a flagship specs. Well yes Vivo a recod breaker along with Samsung A8+.

  • oppo separated from vivo prior to the release of the first phone. vivo owns the legal rights for the designs. if you will check the back of vivo, it has trademark for the designs, whereas oppo doesn't.

  • if it still has chin that big, notch is unnecessary

  • No OIS Snapdragon 660? Wtf No Gorilla glass protection Should have had atleast a Dual tone Led No 4k video.. This phone has so many reasons to be less than even 400€....it's not worth it

  • Oppo and vivo come from the same company (BBK electronics) so whatever oppo gets, vivo will get and vice versa

  • vivo and oppo are copycat

  • 550 Euros for SD660?! lol

  • Is BBK Electronics. Bye.

  • so that how it looks like when apple release red version iphone X

  • stupid design

  • It's not even copying due to the fact that they are somewhat brothers in the same company, BTK Electronics. It would be a timesaver for them and not a copy claim of some sort.

  • keep on NOTCHING ! it is funny that the VIVO X20 was copying the OPPO R11 now the same thing goes on the X21and the OPPO R15 ;P VIVO/OPPO's idea/same old phone+notch=AWESOME phone let's buy it :D realty/same old phone+notch=copycats :-[ please reply ;D
