To get mp3 as ringtones, either get the sounds into the sound folder within the mobile memory OR get the file within the initial folder of the storage card.

How do i get my mp3 to my ringtones. Put them in \application data\sounds Then select them in profiles. I don't have any software for the phone. I tried to use windows media to sync, but nothing is working. How do I resolve this issue?? You need windows media 9 or later, but then you won't sync if your machine won't recognise the phone (see next Q) My laptop doesn't recognize the phone. I'm using USB cable, but nothing is working.. Please help. All you need is microsoft activesync (free) you can then transfer files (and sync your emails/contacts). Ensure connections menu has USB box ticked.

Reply, Sound quality in the Headphones is excellent and loud (headphones are supplied with the phone). I use pocketTV to play video (free on the web), it goes full screen just by pressing the joystick while it's running

Reply. MP3's can be assigned to SMS,MMS, phone ring, Events, etc. Just put your MP3 in \application data\sounds and the MP3 will be selectable in your profile.

I've taken delivery of an XDA IQ (SP5). Here's my opinion. Great phone, quick and intuitive. Bad points - Cannot send and recieve emails from the same account you sync up with, not really a problem as you can create a duplicate account & send / receive leaving messages on the server for outlook to collect next log on. Also Tasks, you cannot add text to a task. I downloaded notepad from the net, which works nicely. Mouse OK once you're used to it. WiFi easy to set up & works well. Camera OK, MP3 tones for all events. A memory card is a must - You'll soon use memory up. All round, it's a nice, small powerful PDA phone.

You can set your Mp3 as ringtone. Just connect your phone to PC. Open My Computer->open your phone go to Aplication data->sounds and put your MP3 there. Then select MP3 from phone menu. Go to start press 9 press 2.

As the review said, there are several applications for purchase, as well as "hacks" which you can obtain. Since it is Windows 5.0, there are a number of third-party software developments. Here is a link regarding free apps: Viewings alright, it's a cell phone, not a PDA. Most PDAs are suitable for long periods of reading anyway. This is comfortable on the eyes as long the font is big enough and you aren't staring at the 2.2 inch screen for more than 30 minutes. It does have handsfree; the review mentions it on page 4. It's alright, better than most. The call quality is decent, but people can tell you're on a cell phone.

I own this phone for 3 mth, and i'm very happy with it. Pay not attention on short batery life its the same for all phones i've owned before. I'm using push email , tasks, appointments, contacts (online sinchronizing with Microsoft exchange server).

i have 8310 for 5 months... i m not so pleased. short batery life.. i mean less then a day with gprs on.... 2 days max without any gprs or bt,mostly standby. the worst thing is i can't copy contacts from phone to sim.. this is stupid .got one aplication but freezes the phone.. i would chose a difrent phone now

This phone is excellent for business purposes. It is very fast for sms and e-mail handling (I get lots of those). Perfect for synchronisation with Outlook. I use the Swisscom customized model v1240 with a lot of preloaded useful tools and software on it. This is my 3rd Microsoft based phone, I simply love it.

8310 is a correct phone, but mobile 5 phone edition is tragedy. Call history without time for anz call(only last call), SMS management, posible options in setup, etc. In 9100 is a much more usable op system, pda edition. So I use 9100 and nokia smartphones,

It's very good and small. The bad points , according to me is 1.The cpu is only 200MHz(remember, this is a Win Mobile, not a Symbian one) 2.No 3G functions

To Hani G: EASIEST way to get the SMS working is to have someone send an sms to YOU. If the sending person is on the same provider as you, the message centre number will automatically set, and after that, you can use SMS perfectly.

Qtek has setup a web-page similar to that of i-mate (www.clubimate.com). The URL is www.myqtek.com and now owners of Qtek phones can register using their IMEI code and they will actually be able to download the firmware updates that i-mate phone owners could exclusively until now!

I'm planning to buy one of those these days. Here in Belgium it costs around 400 euros. The brillant thing about it is also the sensor of the keyboard (that i think nobody has recognized it). Below the 0 there's a tiny sensor and when it's dark the phone knows he must switch on the keypadlight. When using overday it doesn't light, so it spares battery. The other secret of the phone are the 5 LED light on top of the phone. They light up when there's a new SMS/MMS, also when bluetooth is activated of WiFi. What type of phone is better then this one? None, I personally think!

I have this phone and its great :D th OS is superb and the integration of Wi-Fi i very good. the only real bad point is the 'pictures and videos' application for managing photos etc. i had expected a higher quality application than this but it is passable. windows media player is great for music and video. synchronizes seamlessly via activesync 4.1 on you windows pc. ClearVue Suite is included which is a large bonus. It's basically office for smartphone. the camera quality could be better but is otherwise good. Most windows mobile 2003 applications will work with the new Windows Mobile 5 OS which is good news and there are many programs that can be downloaded as freeware from various sites. The QVGA display is brilliant, the difference between 262K and 65K screeens is not noticable. when compared with a samsung d600's screen the qteks screen actually looks better even though it displays fewer colours. all in all an excelent bit of kit :D buy one :P o dear i seem to have written a rant :P if you have any questions about the phone email me and i'll be happy to help :D

great phone but hard to hold with one hand and use small buttons. not that bad but there are some menus to go through for everything except contacts. but texting is a little tuff to do (buttons/menus). i crossed over from a basic nokia which i loved because it was so simple. this phone offers so much more but i still have to think twice when using it correctly. i wish the screen was brighter outside and dimmer in the dark. using it at night while drivin sucks. put your face right up to this screen and thats how bright it is, it hurts. the phone needs a memory card to even work correctly, they should have at least put in a small one. just got a 2gb card. i bought the phone for mp3, sending pics, wifi, maybe even gaming and size. i have had to shut it off a few times to reset the phone but no biggie. the camera is ok nothing great as u would think a 1.3 mp would be on a phone. no flash. im trying to give you a real review including the bad. the phone is the best out and i am very happy with it. i must say to buy one you should be very into cell phones to spend the time and money on this qtek (htc phone).you cant have everything but i do wish the keys were bigger. top of the line, great phone if u use it for all that it was made for, so i love it.

Does anyone know if the language can be changed in the OS like in the SPV C600? I would like to get this phone from Germany and I know they freak out about their language, any piece of equipment has to have german language which I don't speak. Also, how is the software compatibility? A friend of mine has SPV C600 and Acrobat reader for pocket pc doesn't install.

the best phone! texting isn't the best to use, the buttons make it tough. it needs to have a memory card put in to put anything on it. im still learning how to use everything- alot to use. if your looking for a cell with a little extra this is it- nothing compares. i'm not a spender but i gotta say this phone was worth every penny. i'm online writing this review right now!

Hi! I just got a Qtek 8310 and tried hard to install software on it. But it never worked. Every time when I try to intall a software on it, it said: 'It's not a valid Windows CE application.' But I am sure I downloaded the version for Qtek 8310.... Could anyone help me out of this? Thanks a lot!

in response to orangesux!!'s comment the c600 handset has NO wifi, its a varient of the HTC Tornado called the HTC Faraday. This means the orange SPV C600 has no wifi. This phone however does :D and i'll be getting one very soon :P should reduce my data transfer costs alot :P

Ofcourse you could have put a 2 mp camera in it, but as long as it's a good lens, it doesn't matter, well not that much, of course the pixels means something to the picture, but in the end it's the lens, which decides if the picture is good or bad. I bought this phone recently and its all you can ever want in a phone. Its small, but not to small. It has more functionalities than you can imagine. The possibilities are almost endless. Regarding the questions about it having touch screen. No it does not have that. If I should say something slighty negative about the phone, it would be that the manual isnt very good. It dosnt describe all functionalities.

why don't they combine both pdas and phones together ? have a pda in a compact form factor of a phone. one of these with video calling would be awesome. also they should implement an fm radio and flash into their phones and they will be perfect phones.

My C500 is broken so I'll buy this one (and even if my C500 was not broken, I'll buy it anyway). Wifi will be great and the design is delicious! The screen resolution is great (QVGA: 240*320), the camera is 1.3 megapix, there is EDGE... I just hope that the price will be under $400...

One other upgraded feature I forgot to mention...this phone is quad band. The sp3i is tri-band (although you can buy it with different frequencies enabled for different markets).

This is a nice looking phone. It seems to be an update to the sp3i, with the upgrades being: -better bluetooth implementation -better connectivity (EDGE, WiFi) -better camera (1.3mp, previously it was 0.3) -more storage (up to 8gb) -bigger screen -GPS kit (optional) As long as this has the same interface as the sp3i, I am definitely going to get one. What I like BEST about the sp3i's interface is that the address book has a T9 search. This makes it really easy and fast to find contacts. You don't have to do multiple keypresses to get to the right letter, and you don't have to wait for the cursor to advance. What I mean is, if you need to find albert: - you press the 2 key and it finds all matches for A, B, and C. -then you press the 5 key and it finds all matches for AJ, AK, AL, BJ, BK, BL, CJ, CK, CL -next you press the 2 key and it finds AJA, AJB, AJC ALA, ALB, ALC etc. It might seem like a lot, but with 3 letters usually 90% of the combinations are meaningless, so you narrow it down very quickly. I have 2,000 contacts and usually find the person I am looking for in 3 or 4 keys. It is superb! If this phone has all of these features, and gps, I am getting it. My only concern is, how do you use the gps or the camera if you are on the phone? I guess a headset would be useful. Well done, HTC. Looks like you have come out with another fantastic phone. I hate sliders and flips and all that nonsense. I really like basic candy bar shapes and I hate phones that are too wide as they are uncomfortable to hold. I also don't like touch screens as they are always getting dirty, get scratched, and provide no tactile feedback. Unless you look at it, you don't know which button you are pressing, whereas you can dial or type in text without looking at a keyboard. All that said, if you really need to edit MS Office stuff, then this is not the phone for you. The small screen and keyboard would make that difficult. I think surfing the web would also be a bit challenging. I don't do those things on the go...so it's not a big deal for me.

Heillo members of Qtek, while you make good business mobile phones, you seems to be lackiing behind in terms of needed techical specifications in today's and tomorrow's mobile phones. By that i mean that should learn to include UMTS, WiFi, slot cards, FM radio, fax, and Microsoft office capabilities, in addition to your current specs. Introducing new phones to the market without these specs make no sense. So Qtek, just do it!

All details: This is HTC manufactured device. HTC is huge company, makes OEM products for HP, Apple etc. Their mobiles sold under many names; this is (I believ) fourth generation Win mobiles.

That brand is a distributer of the manufacturer HTC from Taiwan. HTC has made a lot of smartphone and they have been sold under some brands like Qtek, I-mate, O2, T-mobile, Audiovox and others. Apparently all those are excellent products.
