Batteries are available on www.ebay.com. Just search "QTEK 9000 Battery". Prices are very reasonable. Different capacities available. Be carefull however with the cheapest ones (a mistake I made). In my case the green LED indicating full charge of the battery doesn't go off after disconnecting the power adaptor cable. May be a good idea to bye the battery with "original" in the name?

I got my QTEk 9000 some years ago. Three years ago the Battery have got problems. I need to buy a Battery but it has been difficult to find one and with the real specifications. I also need a copy of the installation Disk because my CD is broken. If someone can help me, I would be gratefull.

You probably need to upgrade the flash player addon for your browser. It should alert you if your flash addon is out of date though unless you've turned it off.

Had one of these under the Orange network banner of SPV M5000 Nice phone if you don't mind something a little bulky. decent sized keys which means you have less chance of hitting more than one key at a time when texting or typing. Nice screen size and a clear display, the screen also rotates and can then lie flat externally which is a nice touch. Stylus is tucked in the back of the handset if you prefer it for the touch screen but the screen icons etc are large enough unless you have fat fingers. Downsides are the Windows OS, I would have preferred the Android OS for this. Also, videos really need to be small enough to remain in Ram or they can stutter a bit. In all a good PDA with lots of nice features including the ability to hook into public WiFi connections for internet so you don't run up your bill.

I have a Qtek 9000. It is in working condition. I will not be using it. In case you need the battery, you may as well have the phone itself. Am in Sri Lanka. Am 73 yrs and retired. To reply to ms: How to put films onto your Qtek 9000. Convert your film into AVI format, first. Then find a program called PocketDiVXEncoder. Choose your resolution - to fit screen size, make audio stereo, choose Video Quality = 2, Audio Quality = 2. Everything else to zero, except sound which should equal 80%. Then encode and transfer to memory card and play with CorePlayer.

I bought my "Qtek 9000" in September of 2005 from a company called soundsolutions out of Draper, UT which I use very heavily for my companies needs. This is the best clamshell device H.T.C has ever made in it's class and still is of the top 10 devices out there in the world. This year in January of 2008 I had the ram upgraded from 64mb to 128mb by pocketpctechs out of Fountain Valley, CA great job they did on upgrading the ram and would highly recommend to anyone that wants their ram upgraded on their "Univerisal". I am running Window Mobile 6.1 Tomals v8.2 which is the best cooked rom located on the www.xda-developer.com website. Hopefully H.T.C will make a replacement for the Qtek 9000 in the future. Best device I ever owned. I truly love this device which is more equivalent to a Notebook.

I had posted before that I had a problem in the phone after loading WM6 that the SIM is rejected so To Whom It May Concern the problem solved by loading just the right radio_nbf file for my qtek alone without ms_nbf and nk_nbf which was loaded previously then every thing was fine and great

it locked itself . i can't unlock it ,it resets normaly,then it asks for apassword but nothing seems to work to unlock it . I had another model and that one would reboot back to the defoults settings. can any body give me a little hand here please.

can anybody tell me how to record both side calls.I mean I hear my voice in the conversation i write but the other caller is heard somewhere in the outer space(very very low, almost nothing). My qtek 9000 is a year and seven month's old and is still working good except: - battery is well...not to good, the device shuts down when batt levell reaches 35% - GSM signal is sometimes broken Other than that it is perfect. I've got WM6 on it and it is working pretty fast and pretty stable (not perfect but what can you do :) ).

I doubt you had 3 replacements-infact it's unheard of!If you go back to release date then sure their was a few problems but with the recent ROMS the qtek 9000 works extremely well.Top piece of kit and WM6 is an absolute joy.

despite the HTC universal being nearly two years old it still more than holds its own.The amount of quality 3rd party software can't be matched.

I bought the Qtek 9000 march 2006 and i must say, it's worth the hefty money i paid for it and have used and handled it with utmost care. But I started noticing recently (April 2007) that the machine shuts down completely when battery power gets to 64%. It shut down again when you soft-reset or attempt to turn it on and comes on again only after you connect it back to A/C power. It stays on as long as you are on external power. Can anyone help on what the problem is? Pls email me. Many thanks.

I think it's a great product. The touchscreen is superb, but there are a few softwear problemes, and it's quite tricky to try to connect to the internet or another wi-fi product. Anyhow, the biggest dissapointment was the fact that the package had a cd with the ActiveSync product, wich was out of date ( qtek 9000 needs activesync 4.1 or higher, and the one on the cd was 4.0 ).

I have both Qtek9000 and P910- browsing is easier with the Qtek, but as a phone: P910 is much better. The Qtek answers very slowly if so, not so easy to find contacts, etc.

I just upgraded my 3G phone to the Qtek 9000 and got it free from 3. All I can say is WOW! It has all the features I could want and it's like having my laptop and mobile shrunk down in to one device. Why I never got a device like this sooner I don't. know. I've even got free email and MSN thanks to 3. This is a real 3G workhorse. Iwas having problems getting a car charger but have found the Motorola V3 is works. All I need now is sat nav for it so I guess it'Ss time to drop a hint to Mrs Santa

I have this phone on T-mobile uk. it by far the best phone (BAD A555ED PHONE!!!) i have ever had. its a little large yes, it is a little heavy and you look like an idiot holding it to ur head, but it does everything from personal organisation to calling ur wife and telling her that ur gunna be late. it does fit in ur pocket, just have to get used to it, i hacve had it for 4 months now, and its all good, internet package is a must as this uses 3G, fantastic speed, t-mobile offer a 3G speed 6 times faster than ne one else. not bad if u ask me, i have used it and i am getting near broadband speed. as for anyone who says its crap they need to stick a sock in it, they dont have a clue what this phone is about. To MaddogX007 -memory is really not enough for this machine. - generally slow, slower than MDAIII. - SOFT RESET EVERY DAY - battery ...it depends, how you use it. In normal mode it takes 3 days, but you can use in intensively, than only 4 hours, and must be charged. + It substitutes a notebook. + good keyboard For mobile use headset recommanded. I have the T Mobile MDA pro, first day I thought it was amazing, but after using it for a week I noticed few things: It is very very slow, not enough memory, I installed all my applications on my x133 sd card and there is only 19Mb Ram left, and if you try to run few apps at the same time there is about 2Mb for the user. This device has serious memory issues. You have to install major apps like SPB pocket plus to device memory otherwise it runs even slower. I talked to SPB techincal team they said win mob 5 has problems. I can not return it to T mobile cause it's been over 15 days so I am stuck with it for a year. The only good thing about it is the screen resolution and display is very clear.

I purchased this model in March 2006 and after some help from my Network Provider, I am able to use the Internet, MMS and email. I am thrilled with this device. This device is UMTS compatible, but will not work on US Cingular UMTS network. That is because this device is tri-band GSM/GPRS, but only UMTS at 2100MHz. Currently in US, UMTS is only allowed at the PCS frequencies still, meaning 1900MHz. The most you will get out of this device on Cingular is GPRS. It does not support EDGE.

Hello! I have this PDA for 7 days and I am not as trilled as I should be. i paid 1000 Euro for it just to have the GPS working on it (you have to buy a separate GPS receiver). It seems there is a major problem with the COM ports on Qtek 9000. While the GPS works on ports 0,2,4,8 allthe softwares I tried allow only 1,3,5,7,9. So after all my GPS won't work/ I asked both Qtek headquarters and Qtek frm Romania and from the headquarters I was sent to Romania and the guys there told me to go with the PDA to them. I think this kind of support sucks. Other problems I experienced - it is very slow when answering to phone calls and even sometimes won't work. the same problem I have with the keypad which doesn't light up when I press it. It seems it has a will of his own. Before this I had the HP Ipaq 6340 which was a very good PDA. The only problems we're the fact that sometimes jammed. I noticed the Windows Mobile 5 does a very good job on Qtek, but I am searching for a week long to find any ROM upgrade. No chance at all. I currently own a TMO MDA. I was looking for something with more power Mgz CPU. I came across the Qtek9000 a while back, and felt the price was a little hefty, compared to the the MDA Vario. But now I may be giving MDA to my wife, cause she deserves the best, and is a small lady. And I want power! But from the posts here, i don't know whether to jump with happiness, or cry with fear! All I hear are questions, can you do this? can you do that? and for the most part no real answers to anything. The only people who have something to say, say it sucks, the others simply seem somewhat happy. With 64MB of Ram, and 128 MB of Flash, which I am sure of the 64MB only 30 or so will be available, and of the 128, you will be lucky to have may be get 40 for use, I am not very impressed with this model. Maybe I should just wait, cause I hear there is a competitor to HTC, that will be pumping out PPC HTC style phones with 512Mgz CPU, 512mb ram, AND 512mb rom, YES you heard that right. Stay tuned I guess.

If you are a true business user, then this phone is useless, continuos reboots false advertising render this phone useless, Utterr rubbish stay well clear, we have 3 in our organisation, all perform equally poorly, as for battery life, not sure it even has a battery, couple of hours of heavy use and its flat, in car charger will not charge niether will laptop, only real way to charge is mains charger, oh and its SLOW very very slow. Windows mobile is flawed.

if it is slow, then You should upgrade the rom. After the rom- upgrade it will be faster. If you change the rom, than you can change the language to english as well.

just got my xda IIs got stollen so I'm looking for something better (it was driving me nuts cause it was crashing all the time and had to reset it countless times every day. almost every time when I change from portrait view to normal and vise verca). Is the exec the same case? So you are saying that the exec is slow... Is it getting slow because of installed programs or it's slow "from birth"? Could it be from the operating system or only because of the low memory? Has anyone tried to change the OS? BTW I read in one review that O2 released new improved version of the exec with faster memory which made the phone not so annoyingly slow. The question that interests me the most is: Does the phone supports mpeg4 compression when shooting a video? What MAX video resolution does it support? framerate? Is the captured video nice? If you are aware of PDA+GSM thing that is better than the exec(or has more functions please let me know). I want to get the best thing on the market in defiance of the the theft :) One last: Is there big enough difference between the different releases of the phone to take account of it? @Joel from Belgium. Have same experience with Qtek 9000. It's somewhat slow. Before I owned a Qtek 9090, it was definitely faster. The Qtek 9090 has WM 2003 SE, Qtek 9000 WM 5, maybe that is the reason. Anton

I will be getting this phone i think in the near future. It has all the things i need. and easy acsess to download more applications if needed. As one commenter said, the battery life seems quite short. although standby time seems good enough not to affect the battery life when switching on/off.

see comments about battery ad the end**** the qtek9000, has almost eveything and must of the applications are feature to adapt themselves though WM5, as for the english features I got mine ordered specifically in english, therefore contact you dealer about it, the qtek9000 is not locked meaning that you can put any SIM canr in it, this is the reason on not purchasing the SPV5000 from orange since its blocked and forces you to use the Orange UMTS card with no other option I have installed many programs (WINRAR,SKYPE,CURRENCY CONVERTER, POCKET-TV, MAPOPOLIS, ADOBE acrobat READER,AIRSCANNER ANTIVIRUS and others), eventually YES on the storage card (1G) and I have enough space to download almost anything I want, also many VGA screens and JPG that can be used as background screens like in a normal windows,and keeps on going as for the settings there are some files that need to be updated in regards to be able to communicate with you PC, I simply use a bluetooth connection with Activesync as to be able to use internet connection no need for a WIFI unless I'm on the road and I'm looking for another network, what can I tell you, simply so far its been a month that I got the phone and I am amazed, what it can do and the capacity of the storage in it AHHHH... by the way th battery charges in 4 hours, and lasts over 8 hours even connected on bluetooth signal, on standby, it has last me over more than 2 days with small use over the week end great

Dear All, I�m Joel ; just get this Qtek 9000 in Belgium. Question: Could you tell me what you have as memory when you check this in parameter and �memory� ? Would like to know because I get the following : Storage 43.5 Mo Program 50.16 Mo Problem is that without installing any program, this unit use +/- 38 Mo when start up; remaining then +/- 12 Mo; more I use the unit less I have memory place and more the Qtek is SLOW; I have to stop all running program every hours in order to work normally. Hi All, have a question: I am thinking to buy one like this, but my bigest concern is battery time. I plan to use is heavily. Not talking about movies, but MP3, 3-4 hours talking per day and Excel Word and notes. Also Wi-Fi and EDGE. I need it running for 24 hours and not very amazed carying second battery. I have this handset and it is a brilliant phone. The only problem I have had is when i spin the screen round sometimes it crashes and i have to reset. This only happens once a week so I'm not that fussed. The handset is produced by a company called HTC. They are set to open a UK HQ in 2006... watch this space, they could be expanding big!!!

Concernig amount of memory: you must note that WM2005 OS uses RAM memory ONLY to run programs, not to store them. This phone has 128MB of ROM (flash) so you can store the programs either in ROM or SD Card. The 64MB RAM is volatile memory. So, with this machine you'll not have to worry about losing all data if you don't charge it regularly. This thing does not happen since WM2005. Great phone...

I just bought the Qtek 9000. Its really a very amazing device. Prior to that I own a hx2750 IPAQ , Dell x51v. The feel is solid and after getting used to the weight for a week, I don't find it heavy anymore.Surfing on the internet with WIFI is really fast. The disadvantage is that most softwares does not support this device as yet. For example Battery Pro V2 would cause my machine to hang and I had to reset it so many times. After removing it, everything is fine again. This is probably the gadget of the year.

QTEK 9000 looks fantastic on the face of it. However, if it is the same product as IMATE Jasjar then I get suspicious. Postings on Jasjar reveals heavy discontentment as to the size of the memory. The machine is said to crash repeatedly with the need to soft resets. Will the QTEK 9000 have more memory?

Mikkel asked if the Qtek 9000 will work on 3G. The Qtek 9000 is made by HTC and this is sold to most networks who put there badge on it and make a few tweeks. Orange will be first to launch a version, working on 3G, of the Qtek 9000 called SPV M5000. Followed closley by T-mobile (I think they have lanuched in Germany).

yes, you can use mp3's as ringtones, just place mp3's either in /windows/rings folder, or place in media player playlist.

Very nice product! At least, the mobile phone, the PDA and the pocket PC are converging! that's true that it is still heavy but it will come! The battery life duration is good. Hi, is it a pocket pc or a laptop? but it have a good look. now what we want to know, is the performance, and I tried a lot of this mobile or pocket_pc type either sliding or rotating keyboard. I hope it will not stuck or hang up after using the rotated screen so many time, you know what i mean. 64MB is still poor for a new pocket pc in 2005
