Sagem my501C - User Reviews

  • Epic phone

  • Where can I buy this phone Sagem myC5-2 with charger

  • How do I buy this phone? Does it come with a charger?

  • Dear Tracey Three ways to get photos into your computer from your MY501C: 1 Buy a USB A to mini-USB B cable (under £2 at Amazon); switch on your phone; connect phone to computer with cable. You should now see your phone's internal memory and removable microSD card (if fitted) pop up on your computer and you can copy the photos you want. You may have to go to your phone's connectivity menu to configure the USB mode to 'USB key' first. 2 If your phone has Bluetooth (I think all MY501Cs have) then use Bluetooth to send your photos to another phone or to your computer (if your computer has Bluetooth--if not you can buy a Bluetooth USB dongle for a couple of pounds). 3 If your photos are on a removable microSD card in your phone (fits under the battery near the SIM card), then remove card, fit it to micro-to-full-size SD adaptor, plug it into your computer and copy. If your computer doesn't have an SD card slot, you will also need an adaptor to allow you to plug an SD card into your USB socket. I find option 1 simple and reliable. Good luck. LJN

  • can you get your photo's printed or put on a disk from this phone anywhere ? I have loads of photos on my phone and have a new one now, but would like to save all my photos ? thanks

  • Dear Celticeddie--I also still use a MY501C (and bought a cheap second-hand one recently as a backup), mainly with 2MB SD cards as a cheap and cheerful MP3 player and spare phone. I'm pretty sure that the MY501C can't be unlocked via the USB cable or with unlock codes (I did some research into this a couple of years ago). I got mine unlocked at a small independent mobile phone shop for around £10. I believe that they had to use a special test fixture and cable. Please leave a further comment if you find another way. LJN

  • Anyone know how to unlock my sagem my501C which was on the O2 network?? I guess go to an O2 shop?? :-) Any quick way, I have the connection cable for my laptop, dont know why I am obsessed with this phone now :-)

  • Very weak phone. Battery life is short . Poor screen quality . The soft present errors and at my phone the soft crash down . I spent my money for nothing ..... next time i will buy nokia or sony not all no name brand .

  • Hello everybody! I am getting rid of this phone because it doesn't work anymore. After 3 years of lagging and slow motion, I finally am throwing it in the bin. If any of you could help me by telling me which option is the COPY all, to copy all of my Phonebook contacts from my phone to my card, I would really appreciate it. Because I can't read my screen, I can't do that myself. Thank you!

  • I have had this phone for a couple of years, and it is pretty good. It stores quite a few photos, I struggled with the Bluetooth at first but I've got the hang of it now. But the pictures and videos aren't the best quality and it only has one RUBBISH game (!) I am a teenager after all. I'm bored of it now, and have chosen a new phone for my birthday in exactly a month's time :D. Oh, and the vibration is REALLY loud and you can't turn it off - I used to leave it on my desk turned on overnight and I got texts and it irritated my sister no end. But overall, a great phone, sturdy if you drop it now and again. It can slip out of your pocket sometimes but an otherwise brilliant phone!!

  • i got this movile phone 1year ago, and the principal problem is the volume,is too low....when im in the street i cant hearit,,,,,,,can be possible fix the volume with software...thanx

  • its the worst phone seriously, i had it for about 9 months and it stuffed up.. Don't worry, i was gentle with it and looked after it well, it's just a really crappy quality phone. i replaced it with a samsing j700

  • i have this mobile in pink i have had it for 2 years, it is a good phone and is still in perfect condition. But, it sometimes stcks and turns off for no reason. The music player is ok, but is not very loud. The camera is ok too, shame it dosent have flash though. The video was a big disapointment, it only lasts about 10 seconds and is very blurry and the sound dosent work all the time. I am getting a new mobile for my bday in 19 days! YAY! Overall this phone is long lasting, but not the best quality phone. xox

  • i see movies in my sagem my501h is good the speacker is good, and its wonderfull. i love sagem, is strong and hard

  • I dont like this phone because 1.it is really slow. 2.the camera is ONLY 1.3 megapixel and that sux and 3.the sound is really bad..whenever someone calls me i never hear it. SO DO NOT GET IT.

  • its gud but i want it to play louder ?can anyone help me pls

  • the picture is ok as long as there is lots of light around and the soung doesn't go that loud but you can hear it a bit.

  • I don't realy like this phone much. it does have quite alot on it but ive had it for a yea and a half and its is brakeing asit turns itself off when i flip the lid down. it doesn't have a very good camera either and doesn't have a light on it so at night you cant take pictures. if you want all the latest things on your phone then i wouldn't realy recomend this phone but if you don't realy care about features then this phone is good for you!

  • Have this on Orange in the UK having problems receiving pictures get message saying unable to retrive any ideas please?

  • i've haven't had this phone for long but i find it great and really handy to use. it has a great appearance and its MP3 is really good. However it has its faults - its ringtones are a little low and its camera can be a little unclear at times expecially in the evening. Still i suggest this phone for anyone :)

  • have had this phone for a while and people are amazed at what it can do esp its music and pictures could put in a 1G memory card its just the bomb

  • i have this one SAGEM and is good phone i olve this phone,

  • i have had this phone for a while i love it. it does what most other phones do mp3 player it has bluetooth a camera and vidio camera.it is ideal for people who are on a tight budget.

  • yes, it supports 2GB micro SD, but I dont think it supports 4GB

  • this fone is actualy not too bad xcept that the mp3 player is not at all loud. i wish sagem made it louder like the player in motorola fones...

  • For those who need a simple and cheap mobile phone...this is the one. HOWEVER: DON'T BUY this phone IF: - you are looking for a mobile phone with a fast software (this one is a bit slow) - you are looking for a mobile phone full of themes and nice browsing (very limited themes, nothing special) - you want a mobile phone with a good speaker sound (this is not the one) BUY THIS PHONE if: - you want a simple easy-to-use mobile phone - a moderately good camera (overall it is a good quality camera) - a stylish design mobile phone, portable and not bulky - an ok mp3 player I've had it for more than 2 and a half years now and it hasnt given me any trouble yet, except the irritating slow software and the lack of themes. OVERALL RATING: 6/10

  • hello i got the orange version of this fone, and it has a pernament sidebar menu how do i take it off?

  • This phone i good for this price only 40 - 45 but have some problems: some time do not recognize memory card, bluetood is suck (most times with nokia) ...., but phone is good if you wont cheap phone.

  • so i have a sagem 501c and i have a memory card with it and i put it in today but its not excepting ti or something cause i cant find it after i put it in?

  • I've had this phone for almost a year now with MOSTLY no problems. It will send MMS to some phones and not others (all camera phones i might add), and it's annoying when my friends can't recieve pictures . Yes, i've read the manual etc too. Otherwise, it was good value for money (45), considering its features... and has served me well, just wish it would send my pictures to people.

  • can you tell me how can i have the delivery report of the messages ? pls pls

  • Hi can someone please tell me how to connect my phone to a parrot bluetooth device. i am trying to set up voice tags on the minikit to associate numbers to. I have paired them up but when i try to send the number the phone doesn't recognise the device even though the phone says it is connected. Any help would be appreciated thanks

  • Ive Had this phone for just over 2 months its a good phone for a first one but it has many flaws like not being load enough. Im getting a new phone now because it frezzes alot and doesnt read the memory card.

  • its good but music player rubbish

  • ive had this fone for a while now... but is it possible to fast forward songs?? if u cant, then thats just stupid... all multimedia fones should have stuff like this thx in advance :D

  • i have now had this phone fo a year and it is a smashing little phone and ideal for a 1st phone but it has shocking speaker volume. it has done me proud and this is a very cheap and affordabe phone. it would be a lot better if it had a louder speaker volume. if you want a phone for storing photo's and songs this is not the phone for you. it has expandable memory but if you put lots of data on it, it becomes very slow to load anything.

  • this fones alrite but the speaker volume is shocking...

  • Replying to chriss, if you press the button on the side of the phone (the one you hold down to play music) it shows the sub lcd

  • you dnt have to open the phone to see the time... just press one of the side buttons.. use a usb cable (miniUSB) to transfer videos to ur pc..

  • how do you put videos from your phone onto the computer?

  • I have just bought a sagem 501C, could anyone please tell me how to get the light to stay on in the Sub LCD PLEASE, it only comes on when the phone rings for about 5 seconds. I have to open the clamshell up to see what time it is. Thanks.

  • I don't like it. I can have songs as ringtones. I am getting the new Samgsun U700!!! So much better than the Sagem one.

  • HEYA!TERRIBLE FON!i got it at crimbo nd i H8 it!the volume is SO LOW!it cant hold much songs either!UR NOT ABLE 2 HAV SONGS AS RINGTONES!the VIDEO is TEN SECONDS LONG!come on ppl thats USELESS!im nli 12 nd i no its terrible!iv nli had it 4 8 months but wen i got it i wanted a new 1 the next MONTH!i dnt recommend it AT ALL!i recommend the nokia Xpress music 5700.but if ur on a tight budget then the sony ericsson k610im might b better!both good fons but the nokia xpress music 5700 is obviously the best as it costs about 300 euro!

  • how to use the 2 lines

  • is there any way to extend the 30 sec limit on melody record. Or do just put it down to i got one in a million thats no good.

  • oh sorry!! im pretty sure you can only record 30 secs.... that sucks :p

  • Maybe i am doing something wrong i am not very good with these things. It says melody record 30 secs i cannot record the whole song. Please tell me how to use MP3 player. thank you.

  • are you sure it not video time?? the mp3 player plays the whole song.... the video only records 30 secs.......

  • how to extend mp3 player time from 30 secs?

  • seriously....... half you people dont even know how to USE the phone! if the bluetooth comes up as failed... THEN DELETE SOMETHING... its happened to me so i just delete a couple of things that take up too much memory and after that it works perfectly.....

  • hey if you put a memory card in this phone (the card slot is located on the bottom left corner under the battery)the USB transfer is actually quite fast!!! it takes about 5 to 40 seconds to transfer songs and close to 1 second for pictures and that stuff! it all depends on how big the things you are transferring are......

  • i have had 3 phones in my life i started with a cheap nokia then i had a sagem myc52v it was ok. then i upgrade 2 this one i think it pretty good considering the price sure it has a few problems but it is a good phone. plus i have no idea were to put the memory card so that is my main problem

  • The mp3 player is set on 30secs i do i extend the time. thanks for any help.

  • As a 'beginner' wish the booklet was more helpful! If there is a 'delete' button, haven't found it in manul or on keypad. Help

  • Hey!! i got this fone 2day and so far i love it, although, the USB is pretty slow, and i havent tested the BTooth..... i hope it works!!!!

  • i have this phone and i love it. blue tooth works well, all features are fab. my only bugbare is that the skin colours are a bit mundane. especialy when you compare them to the wallpapers and quality of your own pictures etc. i can live with that tho.

  • I have this phone its ok, usb 1 so very slow transfer, bluetooth isn't bad, tho i cant browse from my comp, and the reaction time between most commands and an action can be frustratingly long at times. good camera and if you buy a nice big sd card it can be a good mp3 player.

  • YEs.The BTooth is working perfect!

  • I want to know the truth, as i dont believe wat people who hate sagems say about this phone.... Does the bluetooth work properly? and by this i mean can it send and receive MP3/AAC's, pictures and all that sort of stuff....

  • You know, just because SAGEM is not the best brand of mobile phones available, it doesnt make it a crap phone! I mean really people, its a sagem! They're good phones..... if you dont like it because its not one of those $500 "BIG" brand phones, you really have issues.....

  • After I recieved a photo from a friend I wanted to save it to a folder and use photo as wallpaper but couldn't work out if I could do either cause I could oo nokia- please help

  • Heya, i have this phone and i really like it although i must agree it does take a while to send and recieve files. But the real reason i came on here is because i have just bought a sandisk micro memory card, and put it in, and its saying "memory card not present". I'm not sure if maybe i'm sposed to do somethin after i've put it in the slot, but would be very grateful if you could give me any advise. Thanx xx

  • Okso I am owning this mobile for 6 months now!! I'm qite pleased with it although it is a little bit slow and the volume isn't that good!! But after all this mobile is rea

  • greetrings form CROatia. This phone is ok for regular user. dont expect miracle. its' ok mobile.

  • what do these crazy people expect!!! all complaining about daft things like the speed/ the memory/ the camera. its CHEAP PHONE! your not gonna get great quality for 50 quid!!!! ive had this phone for about a year and ive got no problems with it. its very easy to use, saves a couple of songs- enough for a couple of interchangable ringtone. you can add a memory card to it, its a 1.3 mp camera and its bluetooth= how many other phones can you get for that price that have all those qualities!!!!? Stop complaining if your not willing to pay the extra for a phone with better spec. I've bought expensive phones before and none seem to last long with me, i went thru 2 motorola v3's in a month! overall, very reliable, easy to use, good spec considering the low price and defo great value for money.

  • if you want edit phone contacts with sagem 501c - that is imposible you can edit phone contacts with simens or another phone and with sim card to put them in your phone i don't know difrent way to do this i any have idea to write

  • Had this phone for only 3n months the worst phone i ever saw i went for the v3i :D althogh it hasnt 3g It is easily customizable and there are many sites outthere unlike sagem you didnt see a bloody site preparig for a v3x or xx v6 :D

  • I've had my phone for 7 months and after trying to put some new songs on it, it ended going from holding 6 or 7 songs to 3 and then this 'USBC' and added punctuation marks at the end. I have no idea how this happened. Also, i agree with most people that the bluetooth is rubbish as it comes up 'failed' and that the mp3 isn't very loud.

  • wait till the phone freezes . you wont be so cool .

  • i just got 1 of these !! complete wiv photo printer, bluetooth dongle & 10credit for 65 quid!! how cheap is that!!!!!! took me 10mins to load up mp3's. 5 mins to work out cam/printer seems bloody good to me

  • You got MEMORY CARD! It refuses some transfers:.image size too big, format audio not allowed. You must also send into service. There is a bug which should be solved(background trouble). The BTooth is not for mp3/aac transfer.Use a cable(miniUSB from HP,CAnon photo)or a card-reader. LEARN to USE the PHONE!

  • I got this phone for christmas and was very pleased as it has good features! I soon regretted this as it is a VERY slow phone!!! When i flip it up it stays on a black screen for so long AND then my background comes up. I also have to keep puting my background back up as it just disappears. It does not have much memory for songs as i can only fit about 6. The bluetooth is so slow and sometimes after it sends it says 'failed when reading'!!!!! I will never buy a sagem mobile again EVER!!!!!

  • really good phone but what headphones can you use all i have tried do not fit

  • Well, I'll give it a bit of support. I'm not as young as many of you on here and I'm female so I like the pink colour (makes sure hubby or son doesn't help themselves to it :)) I don't do a lot of texting so that's not an issue with me. The camera works OK - haven't tried the video yet. Just connected my Bluetooth headset to it (Motorola HS820) and it seems to be working OK. Overall I'm very pleased with the phone - it does what I want it to do. The only downside is I don't think it has voice activation which surprises me as it's Bluetooth compatible, although my previous phone was a Motorola Razr (fell out with T-Mobile so it doesn't work now) and the voice activation didn't always work on that anyway. The My501C is on the Orange Pay As You Go network and I got a good deal on it so I'm happy.

  • There is no help with this phone. Buy some other brand and forget about this miserable sagem my501c.

  • Video is limited on aproximatly 10-15 sec. duration and when you done recording it compresses recorded material so it has pour output. Can I improve this, will mini SD card help? Please guys!!!

  • i agree not a mans fone more 4 the women

  • this fone is slow i wish i never brought it n its a girlz fone not really 4 boyz

  • mmm sagem my501c very nice design slow performance good camera display not bad sound sucks..and not that loud price lm59..relatively cheap...but for its price it is worth it although there are many MANY other BETTER phones.

  • i got my sagem thorght i got a real deal then i find out the bluetooth is lame for some reason people cannot send me n e thing i e songs or vids i can only get pics it just says rejected and even sometimes now when i record a vid and play it back it says rejected again is this normal and if so can i send it back

  • The volume in mp3 is usually a matter of the mp3 imported from PC(loud in pc=loud in phone). If you want more vol.in ringtone use a software equalizer(but the quality will be less).

  • well, i have had this phone for nearly 1 week but i have 1 problem....my mp3 is not that good ...i have no clue for what to do and how to download. the phones not to bad. just the volume is a problem!

  • I purchased this phone on the 8th March 2007 and took it back on the 10th March (was bought from Argos at 39.99 on Virgin Network). Initial impression of the phone when it was bought it looked a nice phone. When I finally had the phone charged up it was found to be 1) Slow accessing various parts of the phone especially sms when changing to mms. 2) Sound Volume was poor and that included the hands free speaker option (waste of time). 3) Camera was not too bad for the price. 4) MP3 Player now this is where the problems start (when you start playing music (midi, mp3 and aac it starts ok ish but after flicking through about 5 tunes the phone display goes off then comes back on with a blank white screen with a grey line and welcome as if the phone was crashing and re booting itself). 5) After the mp3 problem occures your wallpaper pre set by yourself changes to a blank screen and no wallpaper and the T9 Predictive Text mode which was set changes back to ABC Tap Tap mode. 6) The inner screen is more like a CSTN screen rather than a TFT similar to the old Sony Ericsson T610 ( a poor show). Basically i would advise anyone considering to buy this phone on Virgin to give it a miss (if your thinking of getting it on another network get a demonstration before you buy checking out what i have put in here, orange uk stores should be fine to show you the phone working, if anyone refuses to allow you to try the phone out in a phone shop then dont buy the phone this goes for any other phone being sold unless you have a good returns policy like a real virgin store has. Argos is not the best place to ask for a refund bit like getting blood out of a stone. They dont allow you to even try the phones out at home and change your mind as they say returns in 30 days only if unused). ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: All of Argos sold Virgin Phones have Sim Cards with no free 5 Airtime Credit (they must have asked for it to be not put on the sim). The Argos Version of this phone does not come with handsfree kit or memory card reader.

  • Seems to me that you're using an operator software not a Sagem original.

  • I've had this phone for 3 months now, when I got it I was very happy with it. For the price you get an awful lot of good features, also I love the red colour. However, some aspects have irritated me so much, I have ordered a Nokia 1100, like the one I used to have. This Sagem phone has several bugs in it which over time are really aggravating, such as not being able to turn off the vibrate alert, even when that option is set in the menu. If I use the alarm clock, and select to switch the phone on when the alarm goes off, it forgets what the wallpaper was, I am forever resetting this. The bluetooth seems unable to connect with Samsung mobiles (this may be a samsung problem). Also, T-Mobile have 'customised' it poorly, it seems much too easy to go online with it by accident. The text message alerts are basically ringtones, no straightforward beep if you get a message, this will ring excessively (Sagem have a fixation with animal noises for ringtones - different, yes. But the novelty soon wears off!). I have also experienced the mono headset problem, and have cut some of the plastic coating off the adaptor, but its still very temperamental. The predictive text seems to put all the words I use most at the very end of the list you have to scroll through, why its done this I have no idea. Also trying to find someone to unlock it has proven impossible, I only wanted it on Orange, but in red and not pink as Orange offered. The fact that it can charge from USB is pretty neat though, but plugging it into my computer also makes the phone forget what the wallpaper was. Oh and the fact that you have to confirm everything before it will delete anything is also an annoyance. I bought this as a phone/camera/Mp3 player. But it performs unsatisfactorily on all counts. I will go back to using iPod/digital camera, and a phone that communicates well - the Nokia 1100. If you can live with the idiosyncracies of this phone, then it represents astonishing value. It still doesn't seem quite polished enough, quite rough around the edges, hopefully Sagem will improve the software in future.

  • Can anyone help? I have purchased trough Sagem a USB data cable to try to transfer data from my PC to my phone. What a I doing wrong, all I get is rejected. Please someone help before I go insane!!!!!!!

  • Data Transfer: Possibilites are via Bluetooth or data cable. Data cable (USB type Mini B - male) is almost certainly more reliable & is cheaply available from 'phone shops, electronics shops, camera shops or Ebay. (Be very careful about the data cable type - there are various versions of mini usb connectors supposedly 'standard' connectors & a seemingly increasing number of 'item specific'/manufacturers own versions.) NOTE: 'Phone must be USB enabled ('Menu', 'Settings', 'Connectivity', 'USB Mode', 'At Plugging-in' & 'Validate'.) When I first connected my 'phone to PC via cable, the PC had to be restarted before I was able to copy to the 'phone's folders or to the MicroSD card's (still in the 'phone) folders. The MicroSD card appeared then in Windows Explorer as one 'Removable Disk' & the 'phone's storage appeared as another 'Removable Disk'. MP3s: So far, I've only managed to get MP3s to the 'phone using a data cable or by removing the MicroSD card from the 'phone & transferring the music files directly to the card (via a multi-card reader/writer) & replacing card into 'phone. I've not, as yet, been able to get any type of files to transfer via a Bluetooth dongle (Belkin F8T001uk) from the PC. Ringtones: It appears ringtones must be in the 'MIDI' (.mid) format - at least, that is what works for me. (1) Transfer via Bluetooth to the 'phone, alternatively, (2) copy directly from PC onto a MicroSD card & insert that card into the 'phone or (3) use a data cable from PC to 'phone (see 'Data Transfer' section above). I copied the files onto the 'phone so the ringtones work directly through the 'phone rather than sourcing from the card. I first found out when I just couldn't get along with the standard tones provided. A daughter of a good friend, who is musically inclined, offered to create a simple ringtone on her electronic keyboard. Me not having a data cable for the Sagem my501c meant she saved the music file she created, onto a floppy disk, transferred it to their PC, sent it to her mobile phone & sent it to my phone via Bluetooth. A rigmarole indeed, but it worked. Editing contacts via PC: I've not yet found a way of getting the contacts list to the PC, to be able to edit it, then send it back to the 'phone. If someone else has any idea, I'd appreciate the knowledge. Usability: I find the menus are a little slow, but the text entry requires the user to be very quick - I wish I could slow it down a little, I often find it has timed out before I can get to the wanted character with my slow fingers. The camera isn't at all bad. Considering it has no flash, the light sensing works quite well depending on the subject & surroundings. Be careful with the side buttons regarding incoming calls. I put my 'phone in a belt pouch which apparently left one of the buttons pressed. When someone 'phoned me, this continuous key press connected the call without ringing or vibrating - ten times(!!) - leaving the caller rather irate with me! I'm using a Southwing SH505 Bluetooth headset by recommendation of a guy in the 'phone shop where I got the Sagem. While I felt it was expensive, I have to say the audio quality is excellent & more than loud enough for use in an old diesel van! Generally, I'm well impressed with the my501c, especially for the price. Except, that is, for the only awful (pink) colour sold by Orange, but, thanks to the Bluetooth headset, I can limit my embarrassment. I hope all this helps some of you guys.

  • Australia is so unlucky !!! Here it only comes in a light purpulish silverish colour on front and everywhere else it is the keypad silver colour. My friend got it its a great phone. Would have brought one myself if i could get it in red. Bought a Z550i instead.

  • Im junior editor TechDigest Magazine in the UK. As a result i have the misfortune of having to review new phones, mp3 players and other such products. I don't mind that much, but makes me spend far too much time at a computer writing reviews and reading manuals. I have to admit, getting this phone in the post was a bit disheartning, its a sagem, but its feature rich and easy to use. Good quality camera, although the screen isn't realy powerful enough for it, decent navigation and not hideous. Its easy to have a pop at it, but i have a V3xx, and feature wise, they are fairly similer. I have used this phone on a climbing holiday last week, and all i can say is it worked for me. Buy, if need a phone that does the job with a few multimedia extras! 8/10

  • i agree not good phone dont buy its very slow

  • sounds like the sagem company have really dissapointed people reading all these comments puts me off having a sagem ever AGAEN

  • this fone is so rubbish it might sound freaky but even looking at the fone gets u stressed cuz people have got mint motorolas and samsungs etc and theres u with a crappy sagem that no ones ever heard of MY VERDICT PLZ DO NOT BUY IT HAS GOOD FEATURES BUT POOR DESIGN P.S i just got rid of mine today and brought a new one HOORAH

  • You need a soft convertor:wma to mp3 or aac. Make a search on "google"=>"wma to aac(mp3) free convertor".

  • does anyone know how to change the phone to mp3 cuz when i download songz it comes up wma and it wont play

  • i agree with maja nokia is nokia

  • nice...very nice but...if you want something more...Nokia is Nokia

  • I have question about this particular model. This phone supports microSDTM external memory, and has microSD card reader. How does this work? Do you place the card inside the phone and use it as an external memory, or do you just copy the data from the memory card to the internal(32mb) memory and take the card off? Thanks.

  • I hawe this phone one month and only thing that I can say for this phone is that I wont my money back. I don't know what to say more about this telephone. Its good looking phone, but far away from other phones in this class.

  • its a great fone cheap but great its camera is mint but the only disadvantage is the mp3 isnt very loud

  • Sagem my501c is not one of those mobile with great features. It is a very common phone and not a complicated one. Those who want a good mobile phone with great features....my opinion...is not to but this mobile phone...because it is not the one.

  • To increase font size when texting, hold down hash button for a few seconds and font size will approx double.

  • i really need help, as my bf is going to buy this phone and he asked me to search for some info. is it really a good phone? i mean i have motorola v360 and i think this pretty much looks like it. can you tell me if it does? what are the adv and dis? thanks very much!

  • Ok(ish)phone with a big problem with headphones A 3.5 to 2.5 jack is needed for headphones but due to the phone shell I had to cut some of the adaptor's plastic case so I could plug it all the way (or it will be mono) - but the jack still can't be pluged all the way due to the socket being a few mm into the phone so the jack is very very easy to plug out. Seems very poor design is the prob lem as the adaptors I have work fine in other devices. As an MP3 player its sounds good, and memory cards on ebay are cheap (SDMicro type) Camera picture is a bit lame really might be important if your into that. Video playerback not up to much Free bluetooth headset is fuzzy and not much of a range before it breaks up (about a 1mtr lol)- but useable in the car. internal display is ok. The internal speaker is IMHO good shame the phone didnt have a FM radio as mp3's sound ok. For 50 quid with a bluetooth headset can't complain to much really. (but I think I would have paid a few pounds more for a good headphone socket!!!)

  • i got this fone 4 my xmas and i hate it if i take a vid and save it to my sd card the whole fone freezes turns itself off and the only way to get it bac on again is to take the battery out and put it back in again. the fone is not loud enough i get my txts bout 10--15mins afta they have been sent to me. sumtimes if u fone my fone it goes on voicemail even though my fone is on...and i got a free bluetooth heatset with it and the fone dnt connect with it

  • Does anyone know whether there is a speed dial facility, also the volume on ring tones etc, is not very loud, (set on max no4 at the moment), font size is very small, is there a way to increase size. Thanks.

  • my daughters just bought this phone, but ive tried sending mp3s from my phone (sony erric k750i)thru bluetooth, but cant get them to save,am i doing something wrong,or cant it be done like this???or could it be because she only has the internal memory at the moment, which isnt huge.also im going to order a card,is one of these ok???

  • Im getting this phone in a couple of days. I can't wait! Im getting it in red!

  • Yes, you can set MP3 as a ringtone.

  • I found a usb cable that came with one of my camera's ( so should be easy enough to buy ) which fitted perfectly but you must go into your menue settings and switch on the usb on the phone, then when you look in your computer you will see 2 removable drives, one for the memory card and the other for your 32meg memory built into the phone and it will only play mp3 not wma, both my daughters bought there phones on Friday and it only took me a couple of days playing with them to work out how to download mp3. hope this is of use to anyone having trouble downloading.

  • Hiya, i've just bought the phone and i really like it - its great, but can someone plz tell me how i can download songs onto it and do i have to have a cable thingy? If so, is there a specific type of cable and how much do they cost? Thanx

  • It's a good phone i got it for 55 with 10 top up ^_^ it has a 32mb memory and if thats not good enough you can add a memory card i found a 1gb memory card on the internet for under 30! disadvantages: Videos are short and a lil fuzzy Advantages everything else!!

  • Can somebody tell me what kind of usb cable should i buy cause i didnt get any with my phone.

  • This phone is great, nice desing, decent camera, good mp3 players, easy to connect to PC and transfer files to it, the memory card works pretty fast. I say it's a very good buy,

  • I love it. But it won't let me send music from my computer to my phone, through bluetooth. I've converted the music to mp3 but it always says transfer failed. Is it my computer or phone?

  • For price very solid phone.Big disapointment is video size limit (there is "MMS limit" and "no limit" option). When I choose "no limit" ,size is obout 8 sec limit. Can Somebody tell me will I pass this limitation if I get SD memory card?

  • I tested 2.5 mm output, it only works on left side of the headphones...so...it only has mono output...

  • can anyone tell anything about headphones ??? is the 2.5 mm port for headphones or for some kind of handsfree set ? if I buy standard headpfones with 3.5 mm jack, cut 3.5 mm of and conect 2.5 on them will it work ??? or, does that 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapter thing work ??? thanx otherwise, I think it is great first time high tech phone for basic users. No aditional software for data exchange via bluetoth or via USB p.s. sory 4 bad gramathic stuff, I'm from croatia :-D

  • I have this phone in pink and its a lovely little cheap phone. The only problems are, that its quite slow and also the camera quality is crap! But apart from that its all dandy! =D xxx

  • I have a my501c for 5 days and i had a few problem already. the bluethooth is not compatible with my device( adaptor bluetooth USB OMEGA BT-020 )or software(blue soleil), the speaker is no loud enough and the software is slow. Otherwise is a great phone ........

  • No,you need a mini-usb cable(e.g.:photo camera)and set the mobile in "mass storage"(menu-mod usb)=>"removable disk".

  • i think its ok. its really slow sometimes and it has a really good mp3 but its still slow. anyone know if you have to get a special cd to download onto your computer so you can download songs on the mp3?

  • It has a little bit slow and 'clumsy' software but it has a good MP3 player and a good 1.3 Mpx camera.

  • can anyone tell me please how much memory this phone comes with i have searched everywhere looking for infomation about the memory and so far had no look thank x

  • The french have done it again..it's a cool phone...with features that for the price...are gr8...I trust Sagem..I've had the Myx-7..the Myx-1...and I can say that i'm surprised by the quality

  • If you have an usb cable plug in the phone and you would be surprised because the phone is recharcing and all the files are on the removable disk in the my computer..so try it

  • nice !and can you use standard earphones, like you use for discman and other audio devices , or do you need something special?

  • Yes,and will work with 1GB memory card.
