i want sell my b7300 reason:- its touch not accurate with stick so how u said no problem in typing text. second reason is its display rotate when using opera, mini.opera,msg even turn off auto rotate option. 3rd reason is its round stick my fingur pain after 2monit use it.also not smooty stick so i changed scrreen guard 3time in 1month.now i m using nokia5235s stick. 4th reason:- 3.2mpix camera very poor .my other phon nokia5235s 2mpix camera 100% better then 3.2mp . other feauter r best for me but above 4 reasons r headech for me.

i used omnialite for almost oneyear. it's a solid and pack with rich feature phone. i am a texter never problem with message even use only finger. "remember it's a resis' touch screen'. the problem with slowly samsung message can b get rid easily by overclock its cpu to 952mhz(see modaco.com for more info). even its overclocked, battery last for 2day with 8h + of wifi conection n 3h+ 3g network use each day. it's a champ when compare to myfriend's htc hd2 which battery drain out before noon. i highly recommend for the low budget user.

Bought this phone last July 2010. I dont have problems with the applications and messaging. You can easily downloads different applications just for free in the internet, you can easily change settings everytime if you want and this phone is easy to use if you can discover the wonders of your phone. Problem with Number Keypad? Here's the solution: 1. Tap Start at the top right of the screen. 2. Tap Message. 3. Tap Create Message (which you can see in the top left of the screen). 4. Look for Mode Xt9. Long press this key. 5. After pressing, a box will appear which will give you options if what Text Mode you want to use. 6. You can select 12 Phonepad, 20 Keypad or the built-in Qwerty Keyboard. 7. Then tap DONE. I hope this will guide you for having a hard time with very cute qwerty keypad. :) Just a tip. Actually you can download an applications to add or change your keypad settings in the internet. Just be innovative with it. This phone is much better than any other windows mobile phone. Agree? or Disagree?

As I am writing this opinion of mine I am using this phone. I bought this 2 weeks ago and here are my observations. 1st features are good packs a lot of tricks. 2nd hard to use outdoors screen is non-glare resistant. 3rd using the keypad is hard but you would get used to it. 4th long battery life it takes me 3 days to drain the battery. 5th stylish yet elegant design for no non-sense business people. great phone for a small budget.

I totally agree with your opinion regarding this phone. The touch screen is not intuitive at all no matter how much you calibrate it. Often when replying to a text message you hit the button to reply a message and it takes too long to bring you to the screen where you are supposed to type your message. Usually, since it is taking to long, you tend to think that it did not recognize that you pressed the key. THEN it would respond but it will immediately take you to the screen asking you if you would like to send an empty message (skipping the part where you are supposed to type the message). This happens 85% of the time. TOTALLY CRAP!

What people told you about the touch interface being inaccurate and bad keyboard is cent percent true. Its not some regular, everyday glitch and you'd be comfortable typing messages only if you are a jailed prisoner and have tonnes of time for typing. If you message while walking on the street, office multitasking or even talking to someone..., You better be ready to stop, pay attention and virtually Devote your time in typing a message. A regular keypad or other models from samsung are far better than this. Overall, a good phone but with a massive problem stated above. And no, you can't improve your 'skills' or say get 'used' to it because neither my peer and nor did the college student in my neighbourhood could do that in months after purchasing it. The college student sold it for half the price recently and the other person found his fancy in sony ericsson Yendo.

for those who are complaining about the small keypad, fret no more! using samsung keypad in portrait, long press the xt9 button (lower left) then something will pop up asking you if you want a 12 phonepad, 20 keypad or qwerty keypad. i use 12 phonepad, it's just like a regular phone's alphanumeric keypad. i think that one is fairly big enough for regular thumbs (except if you have a giant's thumb!) the for those asking why you'd press one key and the key beside it gets press instead, better fix your screen's alignment (its on general settings). that should solve the problem.

I finally got the phone for 4 hours & I liked it throughout except one thing. If you're trying to type messages in its virtual keyboard, then beware, the buttons are pretty small and no, if you move it sideways, the virtual keyboard wont go landscape mode! Finger touch on these buttons is a big no-no unless you have thin fingers of a 14 years old! And with the stylus, when I press bang in the middle of the buttons, mysteriously, the button on its left gets touched... sounds unbelievable but I was baffled too! lolol... I had to carefully press on the right corner of each button with the stylus that made typing messages a pain! And it was this keyboard layout that Im talking about and its bigger than the full QWERTY (that's even smaller)- So, if you're one of those who type more than 10 messages a day or a busy person who has to send messages typed in a jiffy(handwriting recognition being slower than your conventional button touch typing)... Just forget you ever saw this phone! And yes, GSMARENA was pretty accurate in pointing out what I have had hands on experience with! PS- 'Samsung S8000 JET' is far better than this phone and has an awesome Qwerty layout, TV out, 800MHZ processor, 480 x 800 pixels, 3.1 inches screen and its packed like a Jinn/Genie and recently dropped prices! Don't believe me? Take a look- Actually I like Samsung S8000 JET because its pretty close and better in some aspects than the Nokia 5800 express music which has been called a super featured piece at low prices (though Nokia's camera has that pathetic yellow tint)!

Sir/Ma'am, This phone is interesting & I have 2 questions regarding this.. 1) My friend bought 'SAMSUNG B7300'(800Mhz processor model) recently and finds the message typing interface very frustrating & said its very narrow and a mess. I saw it later at work and it looked worrisome. She used handwriting recognition scribble thing but its slow & the phone hung in the process. Is there a way to change the interface to make it comfortable OR maybe some application that takes over this interface.. Any sort of solution to this interface as its the dirtiest thing that could happen to a phone leaving message typing as a very arduous task or 'messaging' not being present at all & I'll buy this phone based on a solution. 2) Can a latest Symbian OS be added by removing the factory shipped Windows 6.5? Thank you.

When buying check if it has ARM 1176 S3C6410, it is the 800mhz. Also, the other version is the asian version that has a greater chance that it has the 667mhz CPU.

Does Omnia LITE have built-in GPS receiver or only A-GPS?! I looked everywhere, GSMArena says it have "Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS" but Samsung's website only mentioned A-GPS for both Omnia LITE and the Omnia II... The b7300 is a good phone for those who know how to use it. I owned one. I have B7300XXJC2 mixed with B7300XXJB3 and a custom CSC file(Windows 6.5 firmwar) I also installed M2D + touch Flo (If you don't know what these things are, then there is no point giving out your useless comments here). I installed Skyfire (freeware, can be downloaded from marketplace) to watch streaming websites. Upgraded to Office Mobile 2010 for free via marketplace. RDP is working great. Bluetooth works well with my Backbeat 903 and Dell BH200. To all of those people who are having problem with mic volume, there is a solution to that and can be one in les than 5 mins. XTRA works well to fast track GPS satellites (I am using Garmin XT and Google Maps). For those people asking about the divx registration and other settings, READ THE MANUAL!!! To those who are whing about the lag, edit SMS/MMS registries to disable threaded view. Also, you can use mas CPU speed, which is 800mhz.

Well, I brought the Omnia Lite about 2 weeks ago, and I seriously regret ever buying it. First of all, I really dislike how small it is. I'd really enjoy a bigger screen. Some buttons are too small to touch with your fingers, so you'd have to use the little stylis pen that comes with the phone. I really don't like that. It does lag. I don't have any installed programs on the phone. Just my contacts,some pictures, and some music. That's all.The phone freezes with me,alot. I have bluetooth connection problems. The camera is not what I was expecting. The photos are very unclear, whether in daylight or night time.The speakers of the phone are not that great, and I've also had complaints from other people telling me when I spoke to them through the phone, my voice was too low, meanwhile i was practically screaming. That's my experience. My previous phone was the Blackberyy Curve 8520. And i completely regret ever giving up that phone. :'(

The Screens resolution is pretty much amazing and touch sensitivity is well done and more than acceptable.AS u knw it comes with windows mobile 6.1 which can be updated to 6.5, so the software is also well put in the device. Also Wifi is available 4 u 2 browse the internet , there is 2 browsers : internet explorer and oprera. u will have no prblms with the internet as it is very nice and quick navigation through the screen

i got omnia lite 5 dyas before with preloaded Windows 6.5, for first 3 days i was in thought that my decision was wrong for buying this phone. But as I started using this phone, i started loving it. two cons are : 1. Small display, but okay 2. Hey confusedlikeagemini. I also thought that Windows Update would work on my Omnia Lite. However, after reading other forums and comments for other WinMo 6.5 phones here on gsmarena, there are certain models that can't avail of that option regardless of location, and our Omnia Lite is one of them. Windows Update really won't function on your phone. Also, only the Omnia 2 is eligible for an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5.3. So far, I haven't heard or read about anyone upgrading their Omnia Lite to 6.5.3. As much as I would also want the titanium buttons and extra features on 6.5.3, I regret to say we Omnia Lite users cannot avail of it (unless it is a hacked tweak). Cheers...

DAVID, MATSINGKIKO, WHEYME, ANYBODY, please help me. I have used my Omnia lite for more than two months now, I have tried updating WINDOWS but it keeps saying that it can't connect to server. Even if my internet connection is good (wifi and 3G). What could be the problem? Also, I tried installing Samsung Application store from the phone itself but it won't let me. It's like, it's not allowed or something? why? Is this problem network related or is it really not allowed here in the Philippines? Lastly, Can I get Windows version 6.5.3 in MOA? Samsung people told me that I can only get the software upgrade from samsung's main office in Greenhills, but i have read from a recent post that it can be done at MOA. it really does hang. my defective jet was replaced with this phone bec replacement jet is unavailable. it is really a hassle. I bought defective jet and omnia lite from Samsung SM Mall of Asia. Dont buy any phone from Samsung MOA. Defective phones and rude staff. and they do not know the specs of what they are selling. believe me. their customer service really sucks big time.

i have an Omnia Lite and it freezes too!! it hangs and it is really a hassle to use. brought it to the Samsung Service Center at SM Mall of Asia and Robinson's Place (where I bought the phone) to have it checked or even replaced because of it's defect but they kept on blaming the SIM card. they said that apparently, Samsung phones are "designed" for 64k SIM cards and since I'm using a 128k postpaid SIM card, it will cause the phone to hang, the battery will be drained faster, it will cause the phone to heat up faster and it will have intermittent network signal. and till now, after a month, my phone is still with them since they are still "checking" what the defects are. Samsung phones are just as equally poor in performance as the quality of service itself!!

I HATE THIS F*?#EN MOBILE!!!! It so damn slow!! Every time I try to send, receive or type of message, I have to wait for about 1 min before I can even read the sms!!! The function of the Wi-Fi and GPRS doesn't define the two as one or the other cancels out each other when I try to connect to ether. I contacted Samsung Singapore and Thailand as they don't have a dealer or service center in Lao to see if I can upgrade but no response. I thought that this would be a good mobile but very disappointed. Will through it at the wall once I receive my new HTC mobile.

I have gotten used to a large screen ever since my samsung star then shifted to the omnia lite. I was able to use a samsung B2100 prior to the omnia lite which is a "normal" candybar phone, small non touch screen and I think i find it difficult to switch back to a small screen phone. As regards the 7330, I haven't used a qwerty phone before because i think I find the keypad too small for my fingers, so if you do plan to buy this phone i suggest trying it out if your fingers will be hitting the right keys. At least with the B7300 you have the option of choosing the regular alphanumeric keys with the touchscreen. If ever I will buy a qwerty phone i'll probably buy those slide out qwerty keypads like in the corby pro or nokia e75 simply because they have bigger keypads than the blackberry types. (in some phones like in the corby pro, you retain the big screen and the touch screen functionality.) I saw the corby pro in the same store a few seconds after buying the omnia lite and was tempted to get it instead because of the physical keyboard and touchscreen combined but decided to stick with the omnia lite because i wanted to try windows mobile since it is supposed to be more flexible since you can install apps. and becasue saying you have an omnia (forget about the lite) sounded more chic and higher end than corby :) After I manually set my B7300 to the GSM band i wanted (non3g) and decided not to use the threaded SMS, and as david mentioned, limited the inbox, I noticed a significant decrease in the phone freezing up.

My Omnia Lite also freezes at times and requires a reset. I also have face the problem of lagging letters when texting and skipping to neighboring letters on the keypad. However, I'm slowly getting used to it and simply making my texting more precise. I also make use of the landscape setting, as well as the normal numerical phone keypad texting scheme. The hassle of resetting my phone everytime it freezes also gets on my nerves as more often than not, I usually do not bring my stylus anymore or tether it to the device. So I have to look for a pen or some sort of pin object to reset it. However, I was really expecting this for the bargain price I paid for this device. I'm trying to find ways to make it's performance faster. Some ways are to keep your message inbox to less than 100 messages, or even less if you can. Overall, it's really the messaging that lags and causes my phone to freeze. As for my advice on switching to the B7330, I suggest that you weigh what you prioritize in a phone. I'm really not fond of blackberry-type qwerty phones with small screens. The specs of the B7330 are practically almost the same as the OmniaLite, but having qwerty is a big difference. Also, I'm not sure how to benchmark processors, but the B7330 only has a 528Mhz processor, while the B7300 has 667MHz one. Windows Mobile 6.5 also runs quite differently on a non-touch device, so you may want to explore if that suits your needs. I really suggest that you try to get used to the OmniaLite, or find ways to boost its performance before switching to another phone.

If the batt icon is replaced by the time, Set your today screen to include the date (display and light settings) then press the date. In the date menu under the more tab uncheck the option to display the clock on the title bar. the time will disappear and will be replaced by the batt

@david we experienced same problem.. also it freeze when in landscape mode while in messaging.. i did not use the qwerty keyboard when writing a message i observed that its more prone to freeze the unit in landscape mode.. i hope when update comes this bug will eliminate

I've experienced this alot as well, and have had to reset my phone on numerous occasions. The only advice I can give you is to maintain your messages to be less than 100. I've noticed that my OmniaLite lags more in messaging when there are more messages I haven't gotten rid of. Also, try using the quick chat-reply more instead of replying on a whole new window. I've noticed there are less occurences of freezing when I use this. The messaging on the OmniaLie really lags though and is prone to freezing compared to other faster touchscreen WinMo and Android phones.

received my omnia as a birthday gift a couple of days ago. I was excited because of the phone specs. When i tinkered with the phone the next day, i was utterly disappointed when I couldn't find the usual alphanumeric keypad when sending text messages. I tried to tell myself i will get use to the virtual qwerty or the graffiti method but after an hour i told myself it was useless. I checked on the instruction booklet and tinkered with the menu options to get a alphanumeric keypad but i was unsuccessful. I was so disappointed that i put the phone back in the box and started making plans to sell it or have it changed to another model. After a couple of hours, i was about to post a for sale thread when i came upon this thread and found the solution. Needless, to say, thank you very much to the anonymous person who asked the same question and the person who answered (paris, i think, salamat). Thank you so much. Today is the 2nd day I'm using the phone.I still get lost sometimes with the menu, the recent problem was trying to disable the conversation view in the inbox but i really like the phone now. Too bad i'm using a mac laptop instead of a pc (I could really make use of the pc connectiviy and syncing but i can live with it or can find solutions, I just couldn't bear spending so much for an iphone to solve my connectivity problems, when there are lots of capable phones for a third of the price.

Fellows i got the solution of how practically to increase the volume of mic of Omnia lite. 1- enter the code *#0002*28346# 2- Highlight "Voice receiver" 3- press gain 4- Change the MGNR74 to 0101 5- Change the MGNL30 to 1011 The idea here is that u have to change parameters of the mic from the voice receiver not from the "Voice speaker" that's wrong. one more hint: the MGNR74 is the Speaker Volume so try to reduce the value as much as you can to avoid the echo in the speaker while talking in the phone. the MGNL30 is what we were looking for which is the mic volume, so try to increase it (as binary value) to get the sound you desire. i tried over and over for along time till i figured that out. Good luck every one.

Today was a bad day. I dropped my OmniaLite screen-face first to the ground when a person nudged it off of my hand while I was trying to text. I panicked and tried to catch my phone in mid-air but it dropped screen-first onto a pebble-surfaced ground. Upon dropping, the back plastic panel snapped off flying in another direction, simultaneously also making the battery fly off. I picked up all the pieces and made sure there were no noticeable cracks on the screen; and luckily, I didn't find any. However, there were some minor cosmetic scratches (barely noticeable from afar) on the side of my call key. The screen protector has about 3 very small line-scratches that are barely noticeable and it shows how resilient the Samsung-packaged screen-protector is to heavy force. Overall, I've tested most of the common features including texting, calling, speakerphone, wifi, and checked most of my commonly used apps and phone features and everything seems fine. I got quite nervous earlier as I thought my phone would be bricked forever. It managed to survive its first drop, only sustaining some minor cosmetic injuries. I am very pleased with my OmniaLite's durability and was surprised that a brand like Samsung can make pretty solid phones. Just wanted to share this with anyone who fears they might drop their phone in the future.

Just preset the reset if its locked happens a lot to me since i really do multiple things at the sametime :-) ... almost like a computer. Strangely even if i reset the game implaying is still there after boot up.

Guys just to help out everyone with data connection...becoz i also had the trouble coz data is still connected eventho you already ended your sessions with opera or explorer or any app that connects to 3g here's what you guys need to do: Setting->General Setting->Wireless Manager-> Then once you're in wireless manager: Click Menu->Data con. Settings there you have options where after browsing the web you can press the end key to eliminate the 3G icon or once you put your phone to sleep it automatically disconnects or last option is if there's no packet after a certain number of minutes i hope this helps everyone! any site where i can download apps??? =)

better lock your phone then before putting it in your pocket or case.. =) kieren is right, its normal depends upon your service provider.. i do get that E and 3G box everytime and no charge unless i open my browser.. if u cant lock it.. just check it everytime, if ur GPRS or internet is online the globe sign would appear next to the signal.. and be sure to close all running applications at the task switcher.. cause the "X" mark on the topmost right wouldnt close it automatically.. unless u press done or exit of course.. cheers!! =)

That there indication depends on one of two things. If its just a box with "E" in it, or with "3G" in it depending where you are, then its harmless. It just means that it's detected an Edge or 3G network (sometimes even "H" if your lucky enough to live in a HSDPA area). You gotta look at the thing which shows signal strenght. Above the bars, if there is a little triangle thing with a line pointing down, then its not connected over data and its just receiving calls and messages. If it's got An E or a 3G or somesuch over it, its connected. Theres a way in the settings to shut connections down by having a short hold on the end key, cant remember the way to the settings though. Point is, that E or 3G never goes, because its just an indicator of the type of local network.

By the way, I think there's something wrong with your battery. My battery last for around 2-3 days with heavy usage (apps, games, Wifi, GPRS, surfing, Office Mobile, Texts, Phone, etc.) Very satisfied with the battery life considering this is a WinMo device.

Hey lhuiix. I finally fixed my Wifi problem. I called Samsung and Smart Communications but the customer service reps didn't really provide much assistance. So I did things on my own. I performed a Hard Reset twice and isolated any program/apps I installed that may be causing the program. Sure enough, I found out that one program was causing the problem. Whatever you do, DO NOT install the program Lookout Mobile Security. It's a great program that has an Antivirus, Firewall, and real-time Data Backup for your phone; but it's still in its Beta stage so one major bug was that it screwed up the GPRS and Wifi of my phone. While I was able to use GPRS, the Wifi saw connections but was never able to establish any. I expressed my complaints to the company through their feedback department and they have not replied to me since. After Hard Resetting my phone again, everything is great now. Everthing work perfectly fine and my Wifi signal is strong as ever, while I can still use my GPRS on-the-go. Hope this helps anyone. I spent 3 days solving this problem.

There's something wrong with my OmniaLite and the problems getting really frustrating. Since I couldn't connect to Wifi, I did a Hard Reset on my phone and installed all my apps and synced my phonebook entries. After the Hard Reset, my Wifi was working fine as my device recognized my home router. However, after a while, I clicked Internet Explorer and the GPRS notification popped-up saying it was connecting via GPRS. I let it connect. After a while, I disconnected the GPRS connection and tried to connect via Wifi. Now, I can't connect via Wifi. The router is recognized and the Blue lights are blinking, but a connection is not established. Someone please try to help me with this problem. I'm starting to hate the OmniaLite because of this. For those asking about apps and games; I've installed a few compatible with Omnia i900 and Omnia II i8000. However, I tried installing a few "accelerometer-games" like Teeter, Resco Snake, and Resco cube and so far none work. They show the opening screen then crash, bringing you back to the main screen. If anyone knows how to program the OmniaLite to be able to play accelerometer games, please share with the other users. So far the only Accelerometer app is the Dice app which comes pre-loaded into the OmniaLite and isn't really a game. Thanks.

If you have the money to shellout for an iPhone 3GS, go for the iPhone dude. Comparing an entry-level smartphone and the iPhone is like comparing apples to oranges; in other words, they're not of the same bunch. So far, I have not had any problems with Wi-Fi on this phone. The advantages of the OmniaLite off the top of my head are the following: Out-of-the-box Windows Office, Ability to copy/paste, Bluetooth sending/receiving with other devices, "to-do app," expansion slot, multi-tasking, flash support for web browser, longer batter life, MMS, DIVX. And yes, you can download different mobile dictionaries (paid or free). I thought there were only some apps for Windows Mobile, but I've downloaded a few now, and my assumption was wrong.

All I can say about the resolution is that it is clear enough and worth it's entry-level price. Of course, it is not at all comparable to the Omnia II or any HTC devices, but I'm overall satisfied with the images. Actually, the Icons are very clear, but you may see visible pixelation with the background if you look close enough (depending which background you use, and I'm currently using the WinMo default). Overall, resolution will not give you any problems.

Hey paris. I actually used my phone for 2 days this week but stopped using it when it was quite unsafe to keep it in my pocket without a protector. Moving in my pocket, it has already taken a few scratch marks on the temporary screen protector. I won't use the phone yet until I get a silicone or leather case this week. However, I can answer a few of your questions for the meantime: First, between the Omnia Lite and CorbyPro, it really depends what qualities of the phone you are prioritizing. If you need a qwerty keyboard and are more inclined to the Samsung OS, then go for the CorbyPro. However, I got the Omnia Lite because I will use it for productivity purposes as well, given that WinMo 6.5 provides Mobile Office out of the box. Also, there are more apps being uploaded in the Windows Marketplace which can prove to be useful. If you get the CorbyPro, you can only play trial versions of games, and are limited to downloading Samsung's proprietary content. The customization on a Windows OS is also very interesting and if you are the type of person who wants a device you can explore, then the Omnia Lite is for you. By the way, I was surprised to see that the CorbyPro has a resistive touchscreen, while the Corby has a capacitive. Most likely you'd get the same feedback on the Omnia Lite with the Corby Pro. Just my opinion... 1. They already have stocks for the All Black color, but as of last weekend, they didn't have stocks for the Black/Red and Black/Gold combinations. And yes, the Samsung Store in Glorietta is near TGI Friday's. 2. I'm not sure if the black/gold one will be available here in the Philippines. To get an idea of what it looks like, it exactly like the Black/Red one, but the Red Parts are Gold. I saw it on the Samsung Mobile Singapore website last week, but after changing their website, the color was deleted. I however, found the All Black version to look more professional than the Black/Red combination I've seen in photos. In real life the device is actually more sturdy, solid, and more expensive-looking than in the photos. 3. For negative information, like I said, I only used it for 2 days so I can't mention much yet. So far, WinMo 6.5 has quite a bit of a learning curve to get used to. The resistive touchscreen is great, and more fluid than I expected; but the lack of screen space makes some icons hard to press (like the "X" button on the upper right hand side to close programs). Also, you have to always open up the task manager to close all other running applications. If you simply push "X" it doesn't close them, and your phone may be performing slow due to other programs you forgot to close. The onscreen qwerty keyboard also takes a little getting used to, but landscape mode works great for texting. Battery Life is good so far. I still haven't re-charged it yet, but only fully used it for 2 days. Speaker lacks the volume I expected though. I used to have a Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone (W810i I think) and the Samsung is significantly weaker in terms of speaker volume and quality. Also, if you're new to WinMo; phonebook entries are displayed Lastname, Firstname which I thought was quite odd. However, after some research, I found that you can download an app that allows you to reverse the order. Most of the time I was using my fingers and didn't need a stylus. But I can tell you that there are certain apps and functions for WinMo that you would still need one. Lastly, next time I wish Samsung would build the stylus into the machine, instead of tethering it. 4-5. The package comes with a headset, USB cable, and charger. Not sure yet about conference calling. Hope it helps... Also, if anyone knows where to buy a case in Manila, please tell me asap...

Others like X1 and some HTC phones have wvga resolution. Picked up my unit from the Samsung Concept Store at Ayala Center for P13,500; directly shipped from the Samsung warehouse. There's no display units so it's kinda hidden; you gotta ask the sales reps. Didn't risk getting it from an unofficial shop this time. I bought a Sony Ericsson phone before from a supposedly-credible store at Mall of Asia; but after a few months, the battery was discovered to be defective and they didn't go anything about it (even if there was warranty). It's awesome too that the only available color was "All Black." The actual phone looks even sleeker and better-built than in the pictures. I was supposed to get the Blue and Black one since I thought the Black/Red and Black/Gold looked too trendy and cheaply built. The All Black version looks professional and looks like it can compete with HTC models thrice the price. If anyone has any questions, I'm free to answer them as I will start using the phone this week. It's my first time using a WinMo phone, and as of now; it's got a bit of a learning curve to it.

For anyone living/residing in the Philippines (specificaly Manila), I was able to contact Samsung Philippines directly regarding the B7300's release here. They said they are not sure of a specific release date here yet, but it will surely be available in the Philippine market. They're hoping they get to release it sometime in the 1st quarter of 2010; so anytime between now and March. But then again, that's the optimistic estimate, so it may be later in the year. I hope it is not too late, as Windows Mobile 7 phones may be taking the scene later on this year...

I'm considering buying the OmniaLITE, and I have a couple questions: 1. Is it hard to find software on the Microsoft Marketplace that is compatible with the 240x400 screen? 2. Does it have voice dialing? (can I record someone's name and associate it with a phone #, and then say that name and have it automatically dial that number? 3. No problem roland. By the way, I saw some post below of some guy spotting the Omnia Lite at SM Megamall so I decided to check for myself. Checked the entire CyberZone area today including the official Samsung store. Again, to my dismay; not a single Omnia Lite in sight. No one knew what it was. However stock for the Omnia 2 seems to be in excess here, and Omnia Pro's are filling up inventory shelves. However, I am still set on purchasing the Omnia Lite. Hopefully, people living in the Philippines can give updates here once they spot the unit in the country. Happy Omnia Lite hunting...

By the way, this phone is not available in the Philippines and definitely won't be anytime soon. Just like every other latest gadget release, the Philippines' release date for the B7300 is unforeseen and will probably be never. Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries have had this model for a while since last year. In Manila, I've asked many stores (including the official Samsung stores) in Makati (Park Square) and Mall of Asia. Unintelligent salespeople didn't even know what I was talking about and thought I was making some "new model" up. Even the official Samsung stores had no sales personnel that knew their own products. Heck, they thought I was looking for a "light" for the Omnia. Haha. I will most probably purchase this from another country; perhaps Singapore or Europe. Once again, the Philippine economy loses patronage from a resident because of the inefficient release of new gadgets and the lack of training for salespeople.

Thanks for all the info Artur! I am really set on buyin this phone now. Great to know that it shares many similar features as the Omnia II. I was thinking they would have slimmed the feature-set down because its a budget phone; but then again, I was proved wrong.

Just to point out that the Omnia Lite does have SMS threaded view as the Omnia II as well some other specs as the Omnia II, but which are not stated on the specs sheet !

David, that I do not know or even tried. The only application I have running on both phones, is the SPB Mobile Shell which works great in both equipments ! If the Omnias which I own( II and Lite ) are great, with the SPB shell are even faster and better ! I presume you do not have problems running apps and games you used to run on the 900i, on the Lite ! The screen resolution between the II and the Lite is also different - it doubles on the II - and I have no problems whatsoever !

What everyone needs to realise is this is a budget handset, hence being $20 a month on Orange and having the word 'LITE' in the title. It's never going to rival the Xperia range, on any high end Smartphone - but Wi-fi, WinMo 6.5, GPS, Xvid playback and DLNA compatability for 20quid a month. You just can't moan. If your going to try and compare the X2, N-series and HTC's to a Samsung smartphone - they really need to be compared to the Omnia II.

65k is good enough,having more colours will drain more battere power.thats why tv-out is important,if you want to watch your multimedia files just plug in to the tv and enjoy more colours from your tv.i preffer to a durable battere life more than 16m just to please my eyes.a beautiful smartphone colours display will be useless if it only serve you one day or two days standby,internet,taking pictures and calls,thats the real limit for smartphone user.even your phone come with 32m colours no body will see it.

It believe it has more than 65k colors. The problem is that WM can't handle more than 65k colors, so it only shows 65k colors. Who knows, maybe WM 6.5 or 7 would handle more.

I thought the same about this B7300 and the Nokia 5530 but unfortunately this last one doesn't have GPS. A guess this Samsung kills that Nokia 5530 with this one... and of course there's also the HUGE difference between the 2 CPUs. Let's wait for gsmarena review :)

mark my word that if this phone is released in the UK it will make huge sales. It is an fantastic all rounder for sure, topped with a fantastic battery life (on paper). I see it as a great competitor in the midrange market. I think samsung are doing very well this year, making so many phones with each phone different from the other, attracting different costumers. Lets just hope the price is acceptable.

I hope Windows Mobile 6.5 will support Flash video sites and lots of new features. You can compare this phone with Apple iphone 3GS. The difference between is Pixels, Screen, Size/Weight. And above all this device much cheaper and better than iphone 3GS.
