i learnt one thing from this phone, dont go for the looks. i bought this set for almost $300 3 yrs ago. the picture quality was good as in all samsung phones. but the display got worse within 6 months. tht was painful. still the camera worked fine but the display killed me man. finally i had to discard it.

I Had this phone for almost 2 years, some things to be aware of: the screen ligthens with time, making it almost impossible to read in the day, keypad softening with time- difficult typing and most important, very poor signal and reception. But handy torch, small and light.

This is not a very good phone in my opinion, thought that may be subjective. I have had it for 2 days now and the call quality and signal strength are horrible. I have a Nokia 3390b from 5 years ago that has good signal in my house, but E715 drops my calls and it does not seem to keep track of time??? I set the time and it was an hour behind the next day and I thought it was the auto update function, but there does not seem to be an auto update clock function at all, so that has me baffled. Anyway, I would not recommend it.

i had this phone when first came out, and i must say its hard to find another quite like it. my overall rate would be a 9 - 10. problem little guy took hard beating but always work fine. I really adore the flashlight, it was very helpful

hi there,please help i have been given this phone and it all seems to work ok, but i cant send texts, receiving them is fine and dialing out is ok as with receiving calls. i have gone into sms settings and under 'default destination' it is empty, does anyone know what should be in there if anything, i am with 02, neither samsung or 02 seem to be able to help when i contacted them.thankyou for your time

Overall a very good phone. Please remember, these phones are 2 years old, back in the early 00s we didn't have fancy shmancy mp3 phones. Battery life is fine, I charge it every other night, and it doesn't seem to be diminishing. Very durable, the poor thing has taken quite a beating, and still works fine. Problems: *no bluetooth. I did get it to work with infra-red, but it was a huge pain, and I don't have a computer with IR anymore. *over time display has faded a bit. everything is still visible. *camera sound click always on. (well i guess you won't be doing any spying with this thing) *Very rarely has minor software glitches (usually the keypress sound gets messed up), a restart puts it right back in order.

I have this phone for close to 2 years now. here are my thoughts. 1. I love the design. When I bought it, all other flip phones had ugly antena. This one looks cool. 2. I dont know why people are complaining about camera resolution. 2 years back VGA cam was standard. Stop complaining. 3. Battery life is bad, I do agree. I used to put it on change and go to sleep. So I have no issue with it either. 4. Yes it takes a while to initialize the phonebook and stuff like that. But I hadly switched it off.Why you people switch it on-off so many times? 5. The main problem...the display is pretty much gone with time. Now I can't read anything..it became so whitish. I know many people with same problem. I should have sent it back to t-mobile and get a replacement, but its too late. My conclusion..its quite a stylish calmshell. It looks way better than even any new or upcoming SE, Nokia Calmshells.I wish to fix the display so that I can use it as my backup phone.I got a D720 now.

This phone is alright. I had it for over 2 years,and taking pictures is totally out of the question. I cant do it at all. It seems like the sephia option is on all the time,when its not. The phone does take forever to load up after turning it on, "sms initializing". Other than that, no other complaints. The flashlight is very handy, nice little phone. Although it lacks the options like the newer phones out there.

No it doesn't, that's just YOUR phone you're talking about. Mine works just fine and has worked fine for the past 2 years. It even survived a 20 foot fall from a concrete stairs(no joke). And as for the poor resolution of the camera; you should've read the specs when you bought the damn phone!

I agree with some of the complaints, but I have had this phone for nearly 2 years now, and I have never had any of the big problems you people talk about. I even dropped it from a stairs(concrete!) somewhat 20 feet to the ground. I just picked it up, and there was no problem, except for a few scratches offcourse.... Best phone I have had in years. And as for your comments about the poor camera-resolution; you should have looked at the specs when you bought the damn phone. :)

I forgot to mention the ring alert option. You can't have the option to vibrate and ring simulateously. It's one or the other or vibrate first before ring. It's so annoying. I can hardly hear the ring tones!

The Samsung E715 was made for T-Mobile. It's a dual band (900/1900) flip fold phone. It has a camera with a flash and zoom. But each time a picture is taken it makes a loud sound that cannot be turned off. The flash also acts as a flashlight and it useful at night when searching for your keys in the parking lot. The ringtones are only polyphonic. You cannot set the tones for text messaging. You can only set the tones for ringtones. It has a short battery life. It lacks features like MP3 and video. You can have it unlocked by entering codes that various web sites sell, but the unlock codes will only unlock the carrier codes. After you have successfully unlocked it and insert a different sim card it will work, but when you access the MMS feature it will rely on T-Mobile's MMS which is "TMobileWeb" (formerly T-Zones). Like all carrier unlocked phones, the phone will remain hard locked.

I have a few problems with this phone. Firstly, it does sometimes freeze up, and takes too long to initialize my phonebook sometimes when I turn it on. The pictures it takes are poor. I've now had it for almost a year and a half, and it now just begins vibrating for no reason, out of the blue. It also won't make calls sometimes for me, and often I have to turn it on and off agin several times to get it to respond to anything. Maybe this should be expected... it is getting old, and these things don't last forever, but I was hoping mine would make it a little longer. I don't think I'll get this model again.

I have had this phone for a little over a year, about 4 months ago. Positives, good picture taking and email. Very small and easy to use. Picture quality was great till if faded.. Battery life is ok.I talk on it about 3 hrs a day and I have to charge it every nite. If I dont talk much then i can go about a day and a 1/2. Some negatives of the phone the color faded on the menu list and the pictures themselves. Also if its in my pocket and i sit down, the camera automatically turns on if the side camera button is pushed, it starts taken pictures on its own. If i am in a loud setting i can't hear the camera go off so i have had to erase many blank pictures. Also when I want the sound off there is no way to turn off the sound of the camera. Recently my picture taking will not work at all because when i turn on the camera all i get is pink and green tones.. i can't even take a picture at all now. I do think it was over priced.

I've had this phone for a few months and it replaced my Samsung V205. I had to get used to the texting on this phone, because if you press the camera button on the side by accident the phone will not respond to keystrokes. The screen is okay and is bright when you need it to be. Picture options are thrilling compared to the V205--it offters black and white, sepia, negative, embossed and sketched. It also has a nice flash enabled for the camera to take pictures in dark places. Also, if you hold the left volume button the flash will turn on and act as a flashlight. The only problem I had with this phone was when I bought a cover from E-bay and changed it. When I changed the cover, the camera feature stopped working all together. I thought I might have hit a wire when I changed the cover, but when I replaced the original cover it magically started to work again. I wouldn't reccomend this phone that highly because I personally believe it is overpriced, but overall it quite functional.

I like the e715 but after a year of having the phone the color faded.I dont know y that happened as much as I paid 4 the phone that should had not happened. so i called tmobile up and got another phone with the replacement people 4 $35. other wise the phone is good no problems with taking pictures.

Great phone... the layout, screen and so on are really good. My problems with the phone are the camera.. it can be a bit 50/50... sometimes the pictures come out really well, and on other occasions its very blurry, also the video camera can stutter quite a bit. But overall.. good phone, great looks 3/5

Samsung E715: Vibrant colors, good picture quality, cool features (like the built in flash light), plenty of ways to customize your phone, aesthetically pleasing overall, however, the downside of this phone is that the LCD screen colors fade dramatically after some time. I noticed this problem about 7-9 months into having this phone, and since I was still under warranty, I called Samsung to have a another phone sent to me. It's been 6 months since they've sent me my second phone and the problem's re-surfaced. I've talked to several other people with the same phone and the same problem.

This is one of Samsungs best flip camera phones on the market, the camera has over 32 diff frames to shoot under. The Screen is of a nice size, txting is a little under done but it makes up for in e-mailing pictures and videos. The one thing I find a little difficult is the takeing the pictures and saving them to be your background saver. Any questions about phones please e-mail me.

Cons: Outside in daylight, you can't see the cover image (time) and when opened you can't see anything either, it's all black but indoors it's perfect....The manual sucks, doesn't give nearly enough information on what and how to do certain things...

i've had this phone last year... this phone is the best i've ever had... the picture quality is almost like taking a picture from a normal camera. its small and light weight.. its very cute.. the reception is also good. the battery lasted 2 days straigh even after talking on the phone for awhile.. u also save money by transfering pictures through the infrared ray from the phone directly to ur computer... the vibration is very good that u could feel it in ur pocket. other phone, sometimes u cant.. i just wish it had the video camera.. i dont need the bluetooth much since i have DSL @ home. but wht i dont understand is that this phone has been out in the market for almost 1 & a half year but it has picture caller id.. but the latest one that came out... really good looking.. doesnt have that.. i was able to use it in my country, Bangladesh.. it has good signals.. overall both the samsung E715 is the best phone.. also the latest one is very nice E715..

Just bought it today and I'm really happy about it. Great camera, quite good design, wonderful OS... After Siemens S65 it is like a miracle. For example this phone ir perfectly suited for my needs. there is no Mp3 player or radio. No n-gage style games ant etc... Well in my country with guarantee you can get it for 380$

This cell is ok. i bought it 3 months ago. I accedently droped it three times but its still working good execpt few scratches on its plastic body. picture quality is just ok. I bought it for $100 and im gona sell it for $100 by the end of this month. im selling it caz i need a cable connection from my cell to my PC so that i can use the internet on the go caz this phone has Irda only. hi ust got this fone 4 my bday i think its really great. only prob is that: I would like to know how one can turn off the camera sound, when it makes a noise when u take a pic(is it possible to turn it off anyway?), 2nd thing is, i have been having problems recieving MMS pictures i have no idea why, i am a very experienced cellfone user so its a bit difficult. i operate on Vodacom (from South Africa, service provider).i got the informing msg telling me i have recieved the MMS , but when i want to "retrieve" it fails. this is drving me crazy.and i have no prob with sending MMS. i have had this cell phone for about a year it does not have any problems. i think that some of you just do not know how to operate the phone. i know basically everything about cell phones. yes the phone should be able to work wherever as long as you have tmobile. the games in this cell phone are go to menu and scroll down to funbox click games and their are the games. if you wanted a mp3 player or radio than u should have bought one of those phones i also havve no clue why people like the wirless bluetooth so much. it's just the same as a earpiece. next the camera works fine me and a friend have had this phone for 1 year and the camera does not well out everything is fine on our phones. maybe it is cause you let people play with your phone to much or spill water on it. their is no possible way your camera does not work on it unless you break it. also if you want to see where that phone would work go to tmobile.com for usa or tmobile.net for other country's anc click on coverage put international and their you can see if your phone works in asia. this is not a stupid phone and if you don't know how to operate it then get one of those free cheap phones maybe that will do u good. if you don't remember your password contact your service provider or if they cannot help you call samsung. if you have tmobile dial 611 from your phone. all phones have weak battery they are going to die out sooner or later so what's the big deal. it is also probably because when you first buy a phone you have to charge it for 24 hours if you didn't that's probably why your battery always dies. you can not get this phone free at tmobile you will pay 250 and get a mail in rebate of 50 which comes out to 199. the only free phones they have at tmobile is the samsung r225m, nokia 6610, and a few others. if you are try to find wap easy go to phone settings. their is no way that this phone is going to be free at tmobile i promise you that. if anyone has alltel, sprint, verizon i have something to tell u. u are being over charged go to tmobile especially with sprint i have a friend that has sprint and she loses connection in her own house that is said. your paying for the service and you want to cut u off everywhere? that is stupid. next alltel they charge way to much you got to pay for caller id, voicemail, detailled billing i get that all included that is stupid. verizon can you hear me now? the answer is no my uncle got verizon and he was in his house and i couldn't hear crap from him. next nextel bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbpppppppppp god can that shutup just stop you'se the regular phone that is anonying. next at&t a friend had it she pays 600 minutes for 80 buckes that is stupid i pay 40 and includes night and weekend. the really don't have 4 bars of connection. i only buy the best and if anyone of you who has siemens, motorla, and those other stupid brands are dumb. if you wanted more features than you should have asked questions. i see it everyday like at tmobile they just go and say ohh this one is cute i like that one can have that one they are going to say sure trust me i saw that and i asked him which one is better and he sad that one i sold that lady is shit the one you is good. people these days do not now anything.

who has problems with e715's screen? as in the colour fading a little. becoming more bright. n spots on it. its on mine. never dropped it or anythin. happens to two of my friend's mobile(same model) too. anyone else? i too have this problem...in addition to this, the quality of pictures taken has become REALLY bad... this phone is awesome when you first get it, but gets crappy after awhile. in the u.s. you can get this phone at many places for free [if you sign up with a 1yr contract w/tmobile]. i don't recommend it, there are sooo many better phones out there now.

I've had this phone for a month .. it's okay. The volume is very low, it has no mp3 or radio, the camera's flash shouldn't even be called flash because it does nothing, and it has no profiles. The phone has a nice size and design, and that's about it!

E715 have 16 color OLED external screen but E700 have 256 color. However E715 have built in flash which E700 dun have that includes service light. E715 can flashed into E710 which has video recording and analog clock display on external screen. I personally like the color of E715 over the dark blue E700.

It's difficult not to compare it with Nokia's user-friendly OS. E715 has problems connecting with laptops via IrDA. Now, I try to use it less to take important pics as transfering it to PC proved difficult. It has such a 'selfish' OS. Samsung should improve on the conectivity. Design wise is brilliant. The Video/Camera with light is innovative. But what good are they if you cannot save it onto the PC?

Good device,but: 1. Batary is very weak 2. You can't copy a group of telephone numbers, one by one only 3. If you have a several numbers under one name and you want to re-call to some, you don't have icon that can tell you witch numbewr you re-diled.

I thought that the front display reflected what is on the idle screen including what the camera is directed at. I also have this problem where whenever I lose my signal and I later find myself in an area with signal I must turn the phone off and on for it to find the signal.

well i using that mobile over a month.. disign is awasome.. but.. its dont have many functions as normal phones have.. no sms archive, sms are save default on sim (not on phone) and u must move them, if u want games, u must download them from WAP, Picture called id work in inside display, camera its not like an s55 external camera, flash? no flash.. there are lantern and it work in 20st.. so u dont need it.. it cant show addresses only from SIM or only from Phone, it show sim & phone together and no chance to change that. I dont know for u guys.. but i will never buy samsung again, they made shits for 400$ sorry for bad english.

Phone seems pretty cool. However, you cannot download games and the aim is not built in. If u sign up for t-zones you can use aim but the t-zones version of aim is terrible.

My friend bought one (turkey) and using it. (tmobile) No problem at all. Just tmobile button and the logo. :) Finally i must admit, it is very unique but lacks a lot of features. No bluetooth or pop-port, insufficient memo for java games. Not using symbian cause its not a smart phone and therefore it lacks those wonderful applications N6600-N6620 have. E715 looks great and its VGA cam takes neat shots too but thats all. If you want a basic, stylish cell-phone then this phone is for you. :)

I have found the E715 to be an excellent wireless phone. Screen color & clarity are fine and it is user friendly. I do recommend the E715 for those who need the basic functions of a cell phone.

Remove camera sound On main screen type: *#8999*8378# --> Test mode H/W test Audio Settings Melody Gain Then replace 6 by 0, it'll show 12 but it's OK Press back until main screen Then press key volume to minimum and let's try !!! no more sound *2767*688# resets the phone and supposedly unlocks the phone

Hey guys, this phone is pretty good. A lot better than the one i previously had (the fucking gay ass bitch motorola c333. Never buying a motorola product again!). Anyways, this phone is pretty good, but it has so odd characteristics here and there. And the battery drains too fast if you play with the games, and what's the point of a phone if you can't be playing with the games??? For me, if i talk on it for 1.5-2 hours, the phone only last 2 days on a full charge. What type of battery times are you guys getting?? Also, i'm not sure about other people, but this phone doesn't work so great when you unlock it and use it in canada. i got my E715 2 weeeks ago. I love it. The camera and all its options are off da hook. I downloaded 15 ringers so far. i would like to download games tho. will someone please tell me where i can download some games? othere than that the phone is very good. i havent had and software problems with it. the internal antenna picks up great reception. Battery life is good but only if u dont text message alot. I love the fact that u can save a picture to a number so the pic comes up when they call. the Flash is a nice feature. i dont travel so i dont care about it not being a tri-mode phone. the clicking noice from the camera is annoying but i got over it. to put the phone on silent(vibration on all incoming calls and messages) hold down the # key til silent mode displays on the screen. the GPRS internet is really fast. I WISH THE OUTSIDE SCREEN WAS COLOR AND NOT BLUE! But THIS PHONE IS THE BEST PHONE OUT ON THE US MARKET and is worth every penny. so if u r thinkin about gettin it GET IT!

i am considering gettin the Samsung E715 or the Motorola V300. i have a motorola T722i now. Motorola had plenty of problems with the T722i like low ringer volume, low Ear volume, Poor sounding polyphonic ringers, low memory space, frequent dropped calls, poor camera quality.I hope that the V300 doesn't have as much problems as the T722i. i have heard nothin but good reviews for the SAMSUNG E715 but maybe motorola improved the V300. it doesn't support gsm1800 cuz they didn't make it 2 support gsm1800 lol. taking the sound off when taking pic is impossible i think. the operating system 4 the phone is very easy to use with the default settings. i dont kno where u could buy this phone in LA but i got my 2 days after it came out from T-mobile.com so wut if it cost me $300 it's worth every penny just for the flashlight and viewfinder outside the screen. (to turn the flashlight on u close the screen and press the volume key and hold it for about 3 second and do the same to turn it off). there's isn't flash in e700 because it came out b 4 the 715 and they redegined it to release it in the US. The 700 is not available in the US. Even though the 715 does not have a full color viewfinder it still gets the job done. It looks better without the color in the front especally if you are outside in the nite or in the movie theator. The price for E700 is around $500 and the E715 is $300 - rebate. Thats probly another reason they took out color viewfinder.

as far as i know the e715 is the US version of the e700. the 715 doesn't have a full color viewfinder instead its a 16 shade blue scale. also the menus are a little bit diferent between the two. i am having a lot of trouble fidning anything on the web about the e715 including at the samsung sight, all the information i have been able to find is about the e700. also the e700 does not have a flash on it

There are othe colors avaible, mine has a dark silver over a light silver cover. to get photos to your cmoputer, you select a picture, click send, then e-mail, then type in your e-mail address and e-mail it to yourself, i have no been able to find a way to get that clicking sound off either and i have been through all the menus

This is tha best picture fone out there. The price for Samsung products are little higher then other brand but its the best brand out there. Worth every penny!!! The nightlight is awsome!!! as well as the view finder in the front of the screen by the way to turn the viewfinder on u close the fone and press and hold the cammera button (right side of the fone) for about 5 sec

JANETTE - only 3... i've dLed like 20 diff ring tones... i don't think it's just 3. i think it's just as much as your memory permits. BEN - to use the front as a view finder, hold down that button on the side of the phone (while the phone is closed) hold it til ur image pops up on the front LCD. just got the phone last night! i love it i love it! only if i can stop playing with it at work and actually get some work done. haha good job SAMSUNG!

I know someone who is a T-Mobile employee and the information on the phone says there are about 10-15 known software issues dealing with this phone. I too have been waiting for it to come out, but I would be a little more cautious. My source says that when you take a picture with the flip phone closed it tends to take mirror image pictures (flips your image). He says there are some other software issues using the T-Mobile TZones. Has anyone experienced any of these issues??? I would like to know before I buy one.

Wow! I like it! Good job on this one, Samsung. The 9MB memory is excellent, the camera is even better then on the V200. It is, in my opinion, the best camera in phones. This phone is light, small, and very stylish. 2 displays. You can take your own picture with it! While it is closed, press the button on the right to initiate the camera. Your image will appear on the small screen! Take the picture, then view it in the phone when it is stored into the huge 9MB memory. Congratulations Samsung, the SGH-E700 is a winner.

well their site says that it has a pc-data kit in accessories so i think that can be used to download images from mobile to PC. looks like an excellent phone.let me know when someone has used it... or tested it :) i hear it's going to be very expensive...

The phone is amazing, smooth, easy to use and not as big as the other phones with camera's. You can't send photo's to ur PC with the phone itself, the infrared is only to send ur phonebook or receive telephone numbers via PC or Pocket PC. To get the photo's onto ur PC you have to email them to ur account but this is quite expensive to do. But over all this pohne rulzz.

Looks like a great phone! Can someone tell me if it is possible to 'upload' pictures that are taken with this phone to a PC ? I noticed no USB or Bluetooth on the E700, is it possible to transfer photos from the E700 to a PC by IrDA ????

This fone is the shiznik, bow down to Samsung, Nokia aint worthy, Motorola aint worthy, Sony aint worthy. I want this fone, already have T100 for 14 months now, could be seen as a bit of a relic in the mobile world but luv it to bits.
