I saw E730 in an Indian Shop at Maseru on the 17th September 2006.I decided to sell my X660 which was still new then, so as to have a boost. I put it on lay on the 18th but could not wait holding it!I went to collect it on the 20th September. I have never had such an xperience with a phone.Since i bought it, it has never given me any problem though i have dropped it several times, just worried that i may not find its battery when need arises because i have never seen anyone else with a similar phone.

I have owned my e730 since Feb '05 and this phone simply rocks. I have dropped it numerous times (sidewalks, tile floor, etc) & it still hasn't failed on me. Phone call quality is great, speakerphone is good & you can create your own mp3 ringtones for it. Outside & inside screens are independently customizable, the *#8999 code works for further sound customizing & the clock on the outside screen is always on. This is a great, durable phone with alot of simple fun packed into it (T9, easy MMS, FM radio, easy to open with one hand, good self-portrait external screen). I can't comment on the speed of internet access since I actually use internet at home (which is faster than any phone on GSM networks anyway). 2 suggestions to complement this phone: For 20 USD u can purchase a Bluetooth dongle that can be found on ebay (to upload/download pics, customized mp3 ringtones, .gif files for wallpapers), and a bluetooth earpiece (i have Jabra JT125, works GREAT) For the price of this phone, its capabilities, and the fact that its a flip phone (not too many durable flip-phones out there anymore, mostly sliders & bars) this is a great buy. The code is *#8999*8378# As u type it in, it will appear on ur screen as *#8999*----- When u hit the last key, the hidden menu will automatically appear. Unfortunately, i don't have the link to show how to adjust the settings but i'm sure a simple google search will take care of that.

I just bought this phone second hand for �20 unlocked. It's really good. The camera is brilliant for 1.3mp and apart from a bit of wear and tear it's an all round good handset. Shame Samsung don't make them like they used to, simple but sturdy!!

i've been using this phone for quite some time and i do like it a lot! i like the camera, the pictures are awesome for a 1.3MP camera. the radio works fine, the mp3 sound is clear. the display screen, although it is small, but the pictures are sharp. eventhough theres no memory card attached, the internal memory storage space is good enuff for me. the battery longs at most 3 days. it has fallen for quite a few times but i'ver never send it to repair bcz there seems to be no problem. i love this phone. the only reason i'm not using it now is because of my carelessness, the phone went inside the water pipeline and its untraceable. :(

to sossa, with regards to downloading items, just use purchase a bluetooth adapter (i use one by a brand called Nexxt Solutions but i figure any one should do). I got an adapter mainly because the data cable that came with mine never worked for me. And I have to say, outside of things like no memory card, low sound volume (one of my constant issues with Samsung. i had to tweak with mine to get it to play ringtones louder) and maybe not having a better music player function, this phone ranks SO high when it comes to user-friendliness and ease of use. Next year will make it three years I've had it and I can't complain much at all. It's fallen so many times and still works well (and I don't even have the one with the rubber finish), nice and light-weight yet attractive. I think I'll be sad when I finally part with it, lol (finding a more up-to-date substitute is hard). All in all, if you can live with the short-comings, it is a very good buy for someone looking for a sleek but simple camera phone.

Nice phone, very sturdy. I dropped it so many times and the only thing that happened was the battery popped out, which is amazing since I've dropped it from over 6 feet high twice. Texting on it is a bit difficult since all the keys are flat. The camera was good though, and the mp3/radio worked very nice. Plus this phone is small and ver nice looking. Only bad thing is the lack of 3g and expandable memory. Samsung has yet to release a phone of this caliber with those features.

If selling my E730 crossed my mind, I'd ask for exactly the amount I paid for it almost 3 yeasrs ago regardless the market price because it work just as perfect as I un wraped it - Even the battery performance is still the same - though generally the battery life was never as long I I would have loved it. "E730 is cash worth"

ive also had this pohone for about 4 years, and it hasn't failed me once, despite being dropped several times. (Once from a moving car.) The screen hasn't cracked, and the colors are as bright as ever. This is, by far, one of Samsungs' best phones.

An excellent phone, however I have a real problem with the volume. I can't hear the phone when it on full volume, and when it is in my jacket or in my trouser pockets. I don't have a poly ringtone either. The speaker where the rintone comes out of is inside the earpiece, and when the clamshell is closed the volume is muted out at least 70%.

I regret selling my e730.....it was such a perfect phone, despite its unexpandable memory. but of course you can't have all in one phone (like people, no phone's perfect). but afterall, it's light, compact, sleek design, having relatively durable battery (compared to my current d600! the battery is so dispappointing. Hey! I've been using this phone for nearly 2 years now and still can't bear to change it. Why? Because I think even though its quite old, it's still up to par with my friend's newer phone and even though the camera's megapixel is little, it takes many wonderful and quality photos. Most importantly, i liked it clam shell-ed! You can take pictures of yourself and see yourself on the screen which is so so so so convenient. Thats like the only factor pulling me back now..=( anybody know of any new phone which is good and clam shelled?

mine's old too, and it poses a huge problem whereby the reception cant get through and the alarm won't ring. nobody can call through and no alarm can disturb you. it's pretty good for slackers who don't wanna go work or school.

I've had this phone since December 2005. Wow, finally after 1.5 years, This phone has FAILED me. The keys are not functioning right, and there's an actual lag in the menu once in a while. Time for a new phone, as this one is getting old. It's a nice phone to have, but I'm over it now.

Desidedude The D900 has poor battery, also theres a known design fault of cracking screen. I thought about the D900, until i read reviews about people paying �100 per broken screen to be repaired. You can buy another D900 with that money!

Hey, had this phone for 2 years now. The battery is now unable to last for more than 6 hours. Its constantly on charge for 3 months now. Sometimes the battery is fully charged, but sending 5 texts messages within 2 hours seems to kill the backlight. (as in it runs out of battery quick) So looking for a new one now. THIS PHONE CANNOT EXTEND MEMORY!

i hav diz 4n. tz kewl..i ve been usin it for one year.. but u don't have themes in this. and you can't do anything else while using the mp3 player. and the caller ID photo is also pretty small.. and.. you can't change the housing.. odr than that tz kewl.. slim fon..

I had this phone for 2 years and then got a E830 slider. Although the new Samsung user interface is nicer looking, it is not as stable or easy to use as the one on the E730. The speaker quality on the E730 is also much better; the E830 sounds a bit tinny like Nokia phones. I think I'm going to go back to the little clam shell Samsung as it's really the best mobile phone I've had in years.

This phone is so-so. Music play is kinda soft, since there are no separate external speakers. On the design side, it looks good. But don't be fooled - it is made of cheap quality materials that perhaps explained why my faceplate rusted. Worst, Samsung refused to change it for me, though it is still under warranty. I would say that the warranty is USELESS. Reason being, it DOES NOT cover COSMETICS (in other words, any thing on the 'outside' is not covered). What use is the warranty then?

I've had this phone for a couple of months already, but about two months ago I started having this problem. My phone's memory status has been at 0kb, & the phone constantly alerts me that my memorys status is full whenever I receive a message. I'm still able to receive messages though, but I'm unable to transfer any more files into my phone, whether image or adio or video files. I have deleted a large number of files in my phone already, yetmy memory left has still stayed at 0kb. I'm pretty sure I've never let my phone memory reach 0kb before, yet it suddenly just went to that mode & it has stayed like that since then. Any help?

uploading is easy, load on program and go into the options and configure it so it auto senses the phone. unplug the phone again and close the program. open it up again and plug in phone, it should find your phone and access it. go to transfers, you have to go to the file on the phone you want to download to using the program. find what you want to move and if it is successful you can press the transfer button. involved but not hard...

Had this phone for over 2 years, the build quality is excellent. The features are still amongst the best with a good camera and mp3 player. design is simple and stylish too. Samsung sort out your text messaging though, it takes forever to send a message! Best handset i've had though, purely for the build quality.

I had this for almost two years and everything is still the same with no problems. samsung e730, ive been using this phone for almost a year now, it has a clear camera, the unit itself is not slippery, it has good quality of sound regarding mp3 and radio, it has a sosie look, it has a zoom feature so its very convinient to use, even if you transfer the pic from ur cp to your computer the pictures are still clear, for me this phone is perfect except for the memory, it doesnt have a memory card, the memory is built in and has 90 mb, but it would be better if i can have a memory slot so that i can record a video, download games take photos much more... but speaking of 90 mb its already a large amount of memory but for me its not enough. best phone i ever had

I've had this phone for a year now and I love it! It's sleek and durable. I've dropped it on concrete, wooded floors, and etc. and it hasn't had any effect on the quality yet. eh....the sound when taking pictures CAN be turned off..u meant the shutter eh?i think the fon can just edit pictures taken by adding frames..emoticons or effects...n to detect the USB...u have to install the software using the cd that u were given when buying this hp...it comes in a package...the phone...cd...cable..charger...manual...etc2... The phone is abs CooL for Me...BesT FoN Ever.. =)

i hated this phone for about 2 months its great..but the only bad thing about it, is that it cannot virbate "while" ringing. Im also in need of help, i downloaded the require software to upload mp3 onto the phone, but it doesnt seem to work. it cant detect the usb driver. when i plug the usb it, it asks to install a usb driver but it cant find the stuff needed to install. can some1 help me? greatly appricated

i have used this phone for some time ago and i really liked it. it got style in the simpliest way and it maintains that edge of performance. radio reception is really good and i appreciate the sounds coming from the speakers itself. camera is good in taking pictures tho it needs more improvements on videos. but overall this phone is great. in addition to the performance, the size also makes it easy to carry around when going out and putting in the pocket for convenience. keypads are also nice, it is not hard to use. it may only need more work on inbox memory.. in comparison to some phones that may have bigger inbox memory. nevertheless, this phone rocks! i really recommend this phone. handy, stylish, simple, easy to use, and very reliable.. if you are worried about the video, what is the use of digital cams if you will not use them, right? have a nice day!

i've been using this phone for abt 6 months now and it's an amazing phone, very stylish, i can take pics and transfer them on my pc via bluetooth and email them to friends, fm radio has good reception and other features are pretty cool too. but b4 anyone else buys this phone do note tht if u use the 1.3MP option for taking pics there will be a delay meaning tht if the object moves or ur hand the pic will be blur. another thing is tht the video is of poor quality, but overall i'm satisified with this phone.

i've had this phone for about 4 months already and i think it's pretty cool. the only bad thing is that the battery dies easily. like every 3-4 days i have to recharge it again. comparing to my sister's sony ericson k750...she charges like once every 1-1.5 weeks. other than that, this phone absolutely rocks.

Hi alexia, don't worry, as for those who needs everything but not so high end, this is a good phone to get, it meets the normal requirement(MP3, Radio & BT) except 3G & no memory slot. But its internal memory is enough for normal usage. Good buy, go ahead if don't want to have "big head" like complicated fine. I'm also holding Nokia phone, but seems like issues increasing although friendly.......but no problem for E70 all the way.

To activate bluetooth (handsfree) headset, right? Well, first you have to go to Settings > Bluetooth > Activation and turn it on. After that, you have to search "my devices" and it will search for the device. It might ask you for a password, so make sure you know what it is. When I use the Motorola H500 bluetooth headset with my phone, I have to put in the password 0000 , so yea... It depends on the device, I guess?

Great phone. Easy to use and layout is great. Query regarding messages. I seem to have messages sitting on my phone once I've deleted them, but don't know how to access these messages that have been moved from Sim to Phone memory. one con of the fone is that you cant save a contact onto both phone and sim without making two copies. and you cant put a photo or add much detail to a contact saved on sim card. if anyone knows how to do it pls help! thx.

Hi MIEK, battery for this phone indeed is quite short, but it don't require to charge that often unless u make use of all the functions throughout the day(like MP3, camera + calls). Don't forget the battery will only perform best after 2-4 fully discharged & recharged. If u are a high user, u may consider to carry a spare battery.

Hi Petra, wonder what u mean by couldn't change the SMS tone? It can be change but cannot use other tone rather than the pre-loaded tones. Just go to tone settings & look for alert tone option...anyway, only limited selections. As a user who don't want headache & up to date usage, this phone should be the one...

But it has one big disadvantage - I can't adjust the SMS tones, even with older and simplier phones I could and now I can't, that's the only disappointing thing about this cell. i love this phone. but i confuse and a lil' disappoint cos this phone's database someimes error. this is happen when i use spped dial. wen i use the spped dial to call a friend, called 'friend1', in the dialled number list appear the other name 'friend2'. this is ridiculous and happend all d time. besides that, e730 is not flexibel as nokia, in order to add a new number in the same contact from detail in inbox.. the camera also very easily get scratch.. well..i think there are some of e730 weakness..

Hi Toni, The best trouble free way to transfer files in/out fm the handset is getting a bluetooth dongle, any other USB cable or similar may results in non compatible with your PC what so ever. Hi ??, Just save the MP3 inside the music folder & you'll able to see a option of "set as ringtone" by clicking it. Of course, u might cut down the size of the song as it takes up memory even it actually plays about 35secs. when phone rings. If you're thinking of headache free, this is one of good phone compare to Nokia, no doubts it is more friendly. ->More function - more problems. Simple & having enough functions for your needs, is worth getting.....E730 C Anyway, I'm a Nokia fans, but I'm admire other good phones too.

I went to a shop (here in Bangkok where they have LOADS of phone shops) and tried to get my wma files to go on my phone. They did it but the volume was extreely low. Great phone. Value for money. The main LCD is bright. The sub display has always illuminated OLED clock. Camera is clear when outdoor. I had fun with the camera's photo border. My phone has a soft velvet like housing texture which there is another type with i prefer that is solid black finish. Anyway after a week of usage, its stolen while in Malaysia. I like the phone. Angeline,if u cant delete the song with the help of his menu, try ro delete it with the help of your data cable, you plug it to your computer, he is showing all the files, select the downloaded file, and search the song you want to delete....:), with me was like the same, but with some pictures, who wore blocking my phone...

hey angeline, i dunno if this rly helps but, when i uploaded mp3's onto my fone the same thing happened to me. when u click on mp3 player u gotta press the up button then u press the top left buttom with the three dots and click add a file, find ur new song and press ok

Alrights . so this phone ive had it for like since last year? its great ! theres mp3 , loudspeaker , the works ! it has great resistance too ive dropped it more then i can count and its only a few scratches , no major harm . since i use the mp3 a lot my batteries get wasted since 1 day or so but if i dont it can use up to 3 days or so =] . all smiles for this phone ! if you want a phone that is small , simple , unique , and tough resistance this is the phone for you !

have had this phone for 1+ mth, used a friend's e730 for 1 mth before that, no problems generally. he complained his batt could only last like 1 day, but mine can go on for 3 or even 4 days sometimes :D as for sms-ing, there are more button (900 a mth?) but it doesnt get to me in all aspects this phone is great....it doesnt have the best features but it's a great considering what they packed into the small build. camera not that gd but i've gotten great pics from it before. mp3 player rocks, just not the best UI. i have two 6280s at home but i hate the many layers of menus!!! argh. the e730 is simple and nice to use. nothing's perfect anyway! was a hardcore nokia user b4 i switched to samsung, now i dont feel like switching back again. haha.

hmmmm i see people complaining about the phone rather than complain you should read the manual ^^. In my case switching to a totally new phone i would do my research. $300 is a lotof money to waste IMO. Every phone has its cons and pros you should pick wich you rather have ^^.There's plenty of Samsung forums. Before i bought the phone I searched and found this forum. Please bare in mind this phone only accepts mp3/aac+ music files (so no WMA). Otherwise it just rejects the file...; Use a music file converter (you can download one at download.com). Ive got bluetooth on my laptop and it works perfectly for me!

@yuki: the reason why you cannot take videos on full screen is because that will ruin the accuracy of your shots. remember that the screen is in portrait orientation in full screen ... while your videos are in landscape. the only way to fit what you will actually see on your videos is to crop the size w/c resulted to that "windowed" video mode and to answer the question of the person before me. yes, e720 has better video quality. but that IMO is not reason enough to consider it as a better buy. still your choice though

i just have the fone right now and im abit disapointed on how the menu works it is very not user friendly unlike my old nokia phone... also the video player, you cant view it in full screen or any bigger because the controller takes the bottom of the screen.. also you cant play the mp3 on the background so you have to stop & read messages.. but otherwise camera is good very fantastic! guys can you help me on any tricks or thing you can suggest to a new samsung user just to lessen the pain???

Hi surfguy, to share with u that nos. can transfer fm sim to phone or vise versa-(play with all the selections in option). Flash light can also work when cover is closed-(press & hold vol. key). Maybe u may spend more time reading the menu since u've own it. In term of friendly usage, still can't beat Nokia. Comes to battery, Nokia happens too, SUCKS!!

hey coolb. im in the same boat as u. this is my first samsung phone, before this is was a nokia fan. I have had this phone for just over 6 months and i hate it. sms feature sucks. can't use mp3 for msg tone. phone doesn't ring and viabrate at the same time, can't transfer numbers from sim to phone or vise versa. going to back to nokia as soon as i sell this rubbish phone!! In regards to your flash light question, when u have the phone OPEN and on camera mode press the 0 button 3 times :) but the flash light won't work when the phone is closed..boo. This phone sucks!!!

Yes - Battery life is terrible...first time i have ever switched from NOKIA...and im kinda regretting it now... but overall the phone is a nice compact phone...works well..only other complaint i have about it though is that i can't set MP3's for my message tones...im restricted to the preset factory ones.. which i hate. :( tried going into the pim/file manager to see if i could rename or trick the phone in some way..but the software doesn't give you any of those options. Does anybody know how to operate the flash light function? helpp !

i had this phone from since october 2005 it's great! mp3 player it's fine and the memory it's fine 15 songs that's cool for a phone remember peple it's jus a phone not a pc! any way for those who gets problems with downloading yours mp3's u have to install the software then go into the pms file manager then click on the icon with the arrow top and bottom and click on the phone opening the files then go to music click on that and then choose the mp3s u wanna upload and then click the upload button and it should work! sometimes if the names of the songs are to long a message appears but it still will upload! mine works great hope this helps!!!!!!!

I have been using the E730 for the past few months and i have absouletly no complains with the phone.. Its totally worth the money.. The MP3 player is good.. So, is the FM Radio and the screen clarity and the camera clarity is just up to the mark.. Only downside of the phone is that it doesnt have expandible memory.. Otherwise, its a total out and out rocking phone.. Its small, compact, and very light.. The scratchless body is totally amazing..

the only way I could get the uploader to upload mp3 files off my computer to my phone is to keep the file names down to about 6 letters. It took me ages to work this out. I dont remember having any problem with the USB cable or program when connected to XP home.

Nokia 6230i is totally better than E730. The image becomes blur when you zoom in, but 6230i doesn't. the sound quality simply sucks when you do recording, though mp3 is clear and nice. I am regreted...the USB driver software doesn't passed Window XP Logo Test, it become totally useless for me because there is no other way to connect my handphone to PC, except bluetooth. Strongly advise those who are interested in E730 to switch your choice. maybe 6230i will be a better choice for you all. trust me!

hi, i think this is a very nice phone when it comes to size, look, affordability and to some extent the features.i only have 2 problems.1 there is no memory card, so memory is quite problem, but the worst of all 2. i recently had an i-paq and got quite aquainted with the features, the thing i miss the most is being able to see my notes on tasks and calender events, seeing as i use my notes(outlook) as diary entries. all my phones must be able to fully sync with my pc, if there is anyone out there who can solve this problem, ur a genius and ill worship you till i die. thanx a mil

Im just wondering if this phone ever restarted itself for no reason to anybody else,or is it just my foul luck again? I was attempting to send a message that contained three parts to a number i did not have in my phonebook.First it reported an eror,and when i tried again it just restarted.That happend two times,the other time i cant recall why it happend. MP3 Probs??? LOL 1. Check that the Song is in the MP3 format (if less then 5mb then most prob is) 2. If it is then check to see if the MP3 is ready for archiving ( right click the song and go to advanced ;D) and if not checked then go ahead and check it. Shuld work with usb now. Got this Phone in January but i've been sticking to my very reliable nokia until now. Since i made the switch i am quite happy with samsung.

Ihave this phone and i do like it a lot, but the battery life isn't the greatest. It barely goes 2 days without a recharge, but it may fare better if it i didn't use it every other minute. The phone is really good though, but doesn't do too well here in the US with some carriers, reception-wise that is. BTW, never buy a phone without a radio. I never knew i would like the radio function, but it's really kinda cool now. I know, you're all saying "it's just the radio... who cares, my car has a radio", but when your mp3s are played out and you're just sitting on campus, it's really convenient.

for bluetooth install the disk put the blooth dongle in ur comp.....then go to ur phone....menu > bluetooth >Acvtivation -on then go back to Bluetooth > My phone visibilty- on then once u have the bluetooth programming runnin go to My device and let it search or w/e for the bluetooth..... Remember to turn everything to OFF when you're done ^^ hope that helps~

yes you can convert wav to mp3. you need to install a software in your computer to convert the file (a lot of software available on the internet. im using the old MPEG Suite. im sure there's a lot more better than what im using). then you can transfer it to your phone after.

hey i have this phone for some time, and i noticed that when the flip is opened halfway (like 30degrees or 45) and i try to wiggle the flip cover from side to side i'm able to move it a teeny bit! not tt it's lose or anything, but there is slight sideways movement. is this normal, or is something wrong? if i bring it back to the shop would it probably do more harm than gd? has anyone else had flipphones that had this issue...and did it last 2 yrs?

everyone really needs to stop complaining bout the sms tone -.- bc its been like that for like centuries! >.> and if you have battery prob. i suggest dont leave the phone on the charger over night...i think it makes the battery weaker its get more recharge life than needed and its gonna depend on the charger to stay alive. not sure if thats true. anyone can confirm that?

This phone is soo cute in black I think. The black color makes it llok msaller and cuther than the silver one! Besides the black matt look, makes the color on the screen look way better than the colors of the silver screen one! And like one of you guys said: "The black is for boys and the silver is for girls." Naah WRONG! Both phones fit to either boy or girl. hmmm....when i first got it i let it completely die and left it on the charger for prolly 2-3hrs (i kept on checkin and eventually got tired of constantly chekcing it)..... Side keys CAN be lock~! settings > phone settings > extra settings > cover lock *check* miss are display on the external screen but then it idles.... and yes u can set a shortcut for creating msg i think its factory default on that bc thats how mine was when i got it hmm i dont have any videos so i'm not quite sure but i'm thinking NO (not sure tho) and yes i think this phone is worth buying~!i already left some comments down there so feel free to go back and look it~ ^.^ GL~! take care!

for ppl who has been using samsung phones should already know by now u cant use any other sounds for sms as the tone...this by far the best samsung model i've have had. If you take time to play or read the manual you probally found your question answered but this phone is the shizzznizzz~!!!!!!!! Enjoy ^.^

Please lock ur phone if u dont want d camera taking pictures when in ur pocket. Hardware is great, but I don't know what they were thinking with the software: - can't use MP3 as SMS ring tone - can't show missed calls when phone closed. You have to press the side button for 1.5 sec. to see this. Missed SMS are shown though. This is VERY annoying, I missed already some calls due to this. - no T9 language updates. Quite annoying in Europe, if you are a foreigner and live in another country than you bought the phone. - you can't copy SMS longer than 160 characters to your computer using the datacable. You get only "SMS too long, read in the phone". This is really a joke. Why do I need the datacable then ? - you can't disable the side buttons. Nice black pictures of the inside of my pocket. Once the camera is on with closed phone, you have to open it to turn it off. - doesn't remember T9 status after turning the phone off. You have to turn T9 on again after turning on the phone. Besides this it is a nice phone.

Hi Everyone This phone is new to me and I can't seem to find answers to the following questions in the manual. Hope there is someone out there who could email me if they know the following, please. 1) Can the phone be set up so the roman numerical clock remains displayed on the cover screen permanently? 2) Can the phone be set up so the phone isn't automatically answered when the cover is opened? 3) I have a Mackintosh computer and therefore cannot use the usb cable & CD option to transfer files from my computer to the phone. Hi Gene, In order to load the mp3 to your phone is to install the software from the CD provided in your pc. from there connect ur phone with the data cable to ur pc and launch the installed software and u are able to transfer any MP3 format files to your phone from the PC and vice versa.

Hi There , Transfering of pictures from phone to PC is easy. there are methods. 1) using data cable. *u must have the data cable to enable data able to transfer from the phone to the pc. as well as u must have the software *PC studio 2 it can be downloaded from www.samsungmobile.com proceed to indivdual country site and login as a member and proceed to software and manual. u can see the software meant for e730. From there the software u can make it possible for the transference of the Photos or music to your pc. 2) Bluetooth. *provided you have an bluetooth port on USB drive u may can transfer the picture over *though i never try before however i think the technology are exist for convience sake.

Hi There , Chinese input are supported for most model of E730 unless u purchased it from some PI batch which caters for Europe then too bad for you. Anyway in the sms text it can be compose as well as when u press option , press 9 and u see the language select and u can proceed with Chinese language. with variety of PINYIN , traditional chinese or even Simplified chinese! i hope that answers your question. anyway is there still any response who know the external screen can play video??? :(

Hey George , You can load the mp3 and the pictures using the CD included when u purchase the phone via the data cable thru your pc. another way is to ask ur friend or anyone who have bluetooth to transfer any pictures or mp3 which u like.

hey everyone out there i have had this fone for about 3 and a half months now and it rocks!! i love it, there is only one thing that i dont like... and that is it cant vibrate and ring at the same time, it vibrates for 20 seconds and then starts ringing, although some ringtones have vibrations set in them i have an mp3 as my ringtone=) anyway, this fone is awesome, it has everything you could want, it has a great camera, bluetooth is fun to use, and its not so slow and lagy like other fones and its stylish and orginal!! if anyone has any problems or questions just email me and i may or may not be able to help you, but problems people have had with this fone, i do not have, mayb you should take better care of your fone or actually read the manual, it helps to read stuff=) anyway my battery life lasts pretty well, i listened to mp3s for 20 minutes this morning and its still full on batter in the afternoon... but yeah its a great fone, i've even named mine (how lame) but thats how much i love it!! (i also love how you can reject calls without having to open and then close it=))

i suggest you dont use mp3pro mp3pro's real capabilities cannot be used on a simple mp3 player especially a phone. mp3 pro cuts the size of an mp3 in almost a half without decreasing the quality only if you play it in a mp3pro player or winamp with a mp3pro plug-in. on a simple mp3 player, a 128kbps mp3 will become 64 kbps thus a large decrease in quality. its useless on the e730.. i got a question to all samsung users about all samsung phones, does your phone stays in a good condition after a long time? even after maybe 2 years or more? does the OLED display works after a year or more? thanks....

I have Windows XP pro. The software I got with the phone indicates it is compatible with XP. Anyway I installed the PIM software and that went fine. J Cee, you probalby have a mailfunction in wires where your main power cord is tacked when you flip it. You should contact your Samsung service so they can repair it. @lukman i heard many people having problems tranferring files via usb cable. I'm not so sure about that, since i connect my phone via bluetooth connection. Although it is slower than usb cable, but it is a lot easier

@Hai usually if u buy from samsung's main distributor for your country, they will automatically set the mms and gprs setting for each telcos in your country. I dont have problems receiving and sending mms, gprs too. Try restart your phone. Perhaps if this problem still occur, u should contact your telco service

@Bogdan yes, that really happen, but sadly, the setting cant be change. But thats no a problem, bcoz, for sms, when u receive sms, eventhough the external display will shut off fast, the new sms indicator will be shown just next to the battery indicator on the external display. But, for miscall, nothing will appear. One of the bad point. To activate the external display, just press hold the volume button, on the left side of phone, the external display will be lighted up again

I had just bought this phone last Sat in the Philippines and had explored it. This phone had everything i need but except for one problem: I cannot send or retrieve any MMS. Everytime I try to send an MMS, it would say: "no bearer found". Also when I received an MMS, I tried to retrieve it but it then tell me once again "no available bearer". Hi guys! I have this phone for a couple of months now and it's ok. But I have 2 problems with it: 1. The phone doesn't vibrate when ringing (but it vibrates&rings at start up / shut down or if I use the last ring melody it came with) 2. Whichever keysound I choose, it palys the default one (mute works but sound 1,3,4 don't work). A friend has an E730 and has the same 2 problems. Do you have / solved this?

yeah, u'll have no problem listening to music 7 metres away. Usually if the phone is next to me, i'll put the volume 2-3 (max is 10) But mind you, dont put so much high hope on the bass sound, it is not a stereo or woofer. But tell you, you wont regret in term of music. About the limited 90mb memory, you just grab a sound editor software, change your normal mp3 to mono sound and lower down the bitrate, i did that and w/out noticeable differece from the phone speaker, i manage to put in 22 mp3s and only consume 51mb

@Arjay13 hmm... it seems that most people having problem to put in java applications in to their samsung's phone, including this. The easiest way is to gprs download from samsungmobile.com, but of course, u need to pay or can be deducted from your membership point. but i dont really care about games, coz i dont play it much. I think the built in mp3 player and fm radio is more than enough and better than those games. but this phone already spare 4mb for java applications, if you manage to get more games, then it'll be great @mr noname mind telling me why this phone is bad?

Yes, e730's flash can light up like a flash light, but u need to on the camera also, as if in standby mode... e730 dont have night mode, sadly... but honestly, one thing i dont really like about the flash is that it only work in range 1 metre or shorter, further than that, u wont see anything, the LED are not so bright...

@krysreign get urself a bluetooth adapter, it's not so expensive, and much lot easier compare to data cable... can transfer file in range 10metres, although cable is faster, but i like bluetooth more

This phone is just great, what i think is better compare to w550i is that 1)stylish 2)compact / small 3)lighter if u'r more on to function rather than design, i bet w550i are better buy for, as it: 1)is a walkman phone 2)higher memory capasity (but both phone have no memory slot) 3)easy to install java applications, compare to samsung (harder, need to dload from samsungmobile.com) but mind you, if u'r more on to design, w550i for sure is not ur taste, besides it heavy and bigger in size, this phone need to twist to open it (hope u get what i mean), and after twist u need to turn over to use the keypad properly (me dun get this either) nvm...hehe but i think i dislike about SE phones is that, no matter how expensive the phone is, the design is totally crap for me, and look at the keypad, looks like a cheap handphone's keypad. This phone has everything you'd want in a phone. Sleek, Stylish, Functional and unbelievably small, even when it is fliped out. I've had this phone for about 2 days now, and what can i say? I love it. The screen is large and colorful (much better then the 720) and the keypad layout is compact but user friendly. The mp3 is amazing, almost like a original mp3 player. The speaker is clear (on songs, but phone calls it tents to break up) and load! Has a large internal memory of 92 Mb. Can take the biggest of files straight from your PC (the biggest i have sent is 25MB). The front has this nifty mp3 buttons, very useful and user friendly! Camera is clear and excellent quality, even when browsing at past photos, the quality is still very high (even though thepreview reslution has decreased). All-in-all, best phone i have had to date, getting the w800i soon, lets see if it can break this Samsung! lol. 9.7 out of 10.

here are my personal review on this phone : i bought this phone, i'm very happy with it... besides the beauty of this phone, i'm also happy with it's functions... but of course, nothing is perfect.. based on what i experience, this phone 1)the battery heat quite fast 2)cant change sms tone (most samsung phone like this) 3)the [C] button are hard to press 4)no memory slot of course, but i think for average user 90mb are more than enough i also read others opinion saying this phone is not good , cant make it silent , etc etc... i guess they'd never used samsung phone b4, just read the manual, everything is in there... they give bad comment just simply because they dont know how to use the phone in proper way, maybe not experienced in using samsung phone... in conlusion, i'm happy with this phone, makes me proud of owning it =)

A couple of questions: 1. I have gained more or less full mastery of PC Studio, and I'm rather adequate at computer usage. I can upload pictures, musics, and other files without fail, however any time I attempt to upload a video (I am sure it is with correct format and there is sufficient memory), PC Studio begins the upload, then tells me that it is an unsupported file type? Does anyone have any sample videos that are perhaps of proper resolution that I could try? Or is it something else? Second question: Is there any way to have any of the calendar alarm notifications vibrate in order to notify me of the schedule/anniversary/etc. without having it on silent mode? Silent mode is the only way I have been able to have the phone do this so far. In addition to this, can a missed alarm be made to show up at the very top of the external display? I have seen pictures around the internet with a bell at the top of the external display, and I have been unable to get my phone to have this. (as is seen here: ) Also, quick side question, is there any way to distinguish between voice mail and text messages from the external screen alone? Thank you to anyone who knows ANY of these answers!

I have this phone for a couple of weeks. it looks awesome. the best things i like about this phone is: 1. it has mp3 player 2. it has a camera of 1.3 MP 3. flashing camera 4. extended internal memory of 90MB 5. graphic, quality (higher than any other phone so far, i guess it's true) 6. clear sound, music 7. loud speakerphone, easy to hear from 8. video capture up to 1 hour, which is long and nice 9. more options to choose from. 10. in deep, mine supports chinese languages (hong kong too) this phone is quite expensive when i bought it. it's black and it's nice because it's rare, compare to most people have silver samsung cell phone. small and compact with lots of options and choices to choose from. FM radio is nice too. one thing i like the best is the graphic and quality. 256k color instead of 65k (compare to my old samsung phone, which is T309). updated options that i can simply have more choices such as listening to music, images, sounds, video, java (more memory). everything is just perfect except the battery maybe a little die-fast. well, it's better than Samsung E720 because it doesn't have a speakerphone, E730 does have. Z500 doesn't have speakerphone and camera flash. E730 has everything you need to get. it's kind of expensive, but all depend on your budge whether you want it or not.

hi guys, i work in a telstra shop so i sell these phones day to day and we are yet to have one brought back in. All the customers i have talked to after purchase are loving the phone and havnt had a single problem with it! The only thing i should tell you is that if u like to store things on your phone it doesnt have as much internal memory as some other phones such as nokias, but having said that it still has quite a bit. These phones are great!

I got my new Samsung e730 recently. It is with out a doubt full of features and definatley a fantastic phone to use. The screen is amazing, the quality of the camera is superb and it looks amazing. All the software and data cables are in the box and it is very quick and easy to load on mp3's. Also you can load on your own picutres and set them as your background and vise-versa. The quality of the mp3 player is fantastic. The only thing that could be improved is the flash on the camera, it is not as powerful as some others, however coming from a Nokia without flash it doesn't matter. They are very easy and simple to use yet full of the most advanced features. I have come across to Samsung from my top of the range Nokia (3660) and the e730 was definatley worth it. The phone is a real beauty and is fantastic to use and work with. Definatley worth it. (Also you get 210 free points in Samsung's 'fun' club which allows you to download backgrounds,tones and games just for your mobile).

Disappointed to say the least. I sell these phones on a regular basis and an extreme amount come back with all different issues from software failure to bluetooth problems to scrambled screens. I bought one myself the day it was released in AUS and it failed 2 weeks later. No DOA/ELF period with Samsung. :( Sound quality playing MP3's using the headset is terrible.

To ski - Why yes, you can zoom in the pictures. Make sure you have the picture that you took in the full view in the photos section, then use the left side soft key volume buttons to zoom in or out. Of course, the up button will zoom in. Using the arrows in the center click direction wheel to navigate from left to right. It works because I've done it on my e730 ;] I'm lovin' this phone :D

oh i missed e post by chineseman, That "video recording..." error message just means that you didn't exit correctly from the Camera menu. Try going into that menu then just keep pressing the "Back" option, not the "End call" red button. it doesnt work still. ---- among all my prev phone of nokia6100, sonyEt630. samsung730's like DA BEST! loving this phone ever since it was out.

I posted something regarding the weak battery life here two weeks ago but then i discovered that now, after two weeks, my battery can last me at least 3 days with a moderate use of mp3/cam and messanger! So for those who complain about the battery..just give it time to build up its life. Furthermore, all my friends praises my phone's camera when they saw the high-quality pictures taken by it. Its even clearer than my sis's d500c! So overall, i can say i love my E730 to bits, yay! Go grab this phone now!

For whoever asked about turning the phone in silent mode, just hold down the pound key and it switches over. Fantastic phone, but for the life of me I can't put videos from my computer onto this phone. There is sufficent memory and what not, and the formats are correct, but for some reason everytime I try to upload it through File Manager, it says unknown file type. Any ideas?

Ohhhh i love it! I'm currently transferring files from my pc to my phone. I think it's wonderful!! I've managed to find out most things to do with this phone just by fiddling around with it. I will agree the battery isn't that great, and the charger i got with the phone blew up after day 1, but thats not related to the phone. I'll just buy a new battery, doesn't fuss me at all! i've had this phone for almost half a yr now and it hasn't posed much problems yet. the battery life (standby) i have is around 4 days, i don't get why ppl have this problem. they also gave me an extra battery just in case the phone eats the battery up. i believe if u get it from the local store, u should get an extra one for free too. i'm still having trouble playing with this phone... how do u turn it into silent mode? and how do u send mms?! it has mms profiles and stuff, n when i send the file it says unknown subscriber? i'm so lost. help me out pls!

Hey Jay Mirchan, The reason why most people don't like the Bluetooth headset is that the E730 only supports calls in the headset. Sadly, you can't use it for playing your mp3s. Hey Silk, To answer your q's: 1) Good. 2) No. 3) No. 4) Good. 5) Mine works fine, I dunno about the rest of these guys. Hey Bruno, To access your WAP, you have to contact your network service provider and ask them to set up your phone so that you can access their WAP server. Hey Srinivasan, It's a phone, not a RealMedia player. Don't expect it to look crisp. Hey jack, Your phone is "offline" maybe because you haven't set up the PIM Manager correctly. When you open PIM Manager, go to File -> Setup. Then select the PORT where your USB is (usually it's COM3). Then Press OK, then wait for it to connect to your phone. Your phone is "online" when the globe icon in the upper right corner is moving. Hope that helps. Hey maki, Sadly, you can't set mp3s as message tone. Hope you guys are still enjoying the phone. =) The minor bugs are bearable enough. I recently went on vacation and I took a helluva lotta pics (around 200+ hehe) and they still look great. What a fantastic phone, you don't have to be a Rocket Scientist to operate it however it helps to understand computers and digital technology to nagivate and obtain the results desired. Read the owners manual, if obtaining the desired task is difficult ask someone else with more cellphone/computer experance to help. The Phone is extremely Good, handy,Scratch Proof for the Body CASE. However The Phone Dosent support any Video content on different file formats. The pciture of the video content though being converted through external softwares is also ina poor quality. The usb Data cable available is of usb 2.0 support that dosent support usb 1.0 port(So sad for those having usb 1.0) Though we have a greater memory free, and we try uploading content of pics with larger size , It shows not Supported Content. Hello, Thanks for all the input guys! I read alot of the previous posts and found my answers! I just purchased this phone in the Noir color way 2nd hand and it ROCKS!!! If you people have not understood this yet then let me tell you again! BUY THE DARN USB BLUETOOTH DONGLE!!!! It's $11 shipped from ebay to your house and at least utilize the bluetooth this phone comes with! Forget the usb cable wire, I hear it's garbage! Anyways this phone is small compact and ergonomically it's the best feel out there unlike those stupid slider phones and you can rest it upon your shoulders with your head unlike the bar phones and sliders!!! You can buy the bluetooth headset as well but not many people like that on their ear! For all those people saying samsung sucks and that you have problems with your phone, maybe you just got a bad apple? Return it then if it's defective and get a replacement for it! And for all you clowns out there saying that the memory is small. 96 mb on a phone is pretty good! If you want a million songs on your phone then go buy one that is trans flash card capable then........or....go buy a darn mp3 player with gigs of memeory! The facts are that this phone is superb in size, features, looks and battery life is decent! Just don't use the hell out of it, after all, it';s only a cell phone people! Peace! Peace!

i just bought a pretty new and unscratched second hand e73o a few days ago and now i know why the previous owner had sold it..! the battery is weak..weak..weak! the first time it lasted me around 20 hours with minimal smsing. the second time when i played a few mp3s and took a few pics, it only took me 8 hours before the battery is completely drained..! it bothered me a hell lot. however, i heard quite an amount of people said that the initial chargings are like that. i hope with a few more charges, my batt life will last longer. =( oh well~ other than that, the phones pretty good! design's the best. great sound (better than my mp3 player) and good camera xD. for those who says that they cant take pics at night due to the weak flash..i recommend u all to adjust the brightness to the brightest. this way its better than the flash =)

I plan to buy E730 anytime soon. After reading most of the reviews, i kinda got disappointed. But as i read Chineseman's and Dominic's posts, i must say i have to push through with my plan. i realize after weighing its pros and cons, i think E-730 is a good choice. hope u guys will help me if, hopefully GOD forbids, i will encounter same problems, okey? tnx so much! actually after i using this phone for a half year, what i can say is this phone is quite a good phone in basic function, less problem and good receiver ,but if compare to those guy who finding for smart phone like o2 or nokia, dun try samsung ..cos samsung is a handphone, not a TV, powerfull camrecord or camera, playstation .It is just a basic phone for those use the phone in probably way.we dun like so much trouble on pressing keypad. it just a very simple,usefull handphone. and for whose u guy mention about battery problem,camera problem,sound problem ..sorry i never face b4 as long i use

This phone is almost perfect. I've this in the matte Noir/Black Soft Feel version. I love it so much.!! The battery needs a few initial full recharging & discharging to make it last longer. Bluetooth speed is amazingly fast. Radio's great too. One flaw would be the ringtone volume, it's too soft. It needs to be improve..But overall this phone's a 8.5/10 for me. It's going to stay with me for a while.. =D

Hard to give credit to a sub-standard product that doesnt deliver...just my opinion true..seems quite a few others share this opinion when checking the previous posts as suggested..i never got the chance to experience problems with any of the other features of the phone as some people have here...my phone has never worked..why not ask questions here? Hey you guys, What the hell happened here? This isn't TECH SUPPORT you know! It's "User Opinions"! For those who can't upload mp3s - try thinking first before posting like mad. The phone is glitchy when it comes to connections. Also, check if your PC has enough memory (I mean RAM and buffer memory) before you transfer huge files because the phone hangs when there's not enough buffer memory. If your RAM is 256 MB or higher, you can upload easily. Using the USB is discussed in the user manual. Although the details aren't listed, you could use the old "trial and error" method when you try out certain features. Don't be afraid to experiment, that's what the warranty is for! Transfering files is easy. Get a Bluetooth dongle if you can't use the USB. Also, try reading older posts here, since many of them old posts have the answers to the questions that you have. That "video recording..." error message just means that you didn't exit correctly from the Camera menu. Try going into that menu then just keep pressing the "Back" option, not the "End call" red button. And for those who don't like the phone... well that's okay to say it's bad because it's your opinion, but you could at least give a little more credit to the phone. Just say that it's bad and it'll be enough, you don't have to exaggerate. And anyone out here reads the "Posting Rules"? Learn a little etiquette...

I bought my E730 back in July and it has been sent in for warranty repairs three times since then each time to rectify the same problems. It is currently away for repairs now and I am using a Nokia 6610i as a loan phone. The Nokia a much better and more reliable product. Problems with my E730: 1. Screen freezes then fades - phone has to be turned off then on again (software problems) 2. Battery life is way too short (as mentioned in other posts) 3. Front cover diplay does not work, no MP3 player, no camera...nothing Verdict = phone is garbage...my first and last Samsung..going back to Nokia (Thank god there is a lemon clause in my contract)

Oh and try -- IDk what you're talking about but my phone lasted a day and a half, and it only lost 1 bar, so I still had 2 bars worth of battery life. Make sure you only charge it when necessary. ;] Also, I did use the phone and talk on it for probably, a total of 30 minutes, but I'm just saying that the battery life does last pretty long--just make sure you charge it completely, only when the battery starts blinking due to low battery.

Jeff, it's true that this phone does have a lot of features, there are some downsides. But I'd have to admit, I'm VERY happy with this phone. Not only is it stylish, but it has many features, despite the crappy flash and kind of weird external display. I still would say this phone is worth every penny I paid for it. Oh and I was able to put mp3s on this phone finally. Spent a few hours (the booklet doesn't say anything about how to go about it), but I'm satisfied that I accomplished it, while quite a few others who have the e730 can't seem to connect the phone to their PC. Great phone. I'm learning to love this phone more than my old samsung e315 (which I loved to death).

Everyone who posts a bad comment aout this phone is extreamly over criticle and is never happy with anything. This phone is great. I know lots of people with this phone and they all say the same thing, and the people I know without this phone all want it. I read these opinions with increasing incredulity.Not just for the e730 but all phones on this site.I'ts almost like someone found a madhouse locked away in some ancient village and gave all the inmates a laptop pc and told them to post an opinion. I've got this problem: when I try to upload things from my samsung to my computer, this message pops up: "video recording event has occurred" I've seen people here that says that the solution is this: put the video recording sound off(if on) or on(if off) this shall solve the problem. I bought the phone a few days ago. It's ok but didn't quite reach my expectations. First of all, it doesn't recognize WAV files; second, you can't customize/personalize your message tones; third, volume isn't that loud (even if it's already on maxed); fourth, battery life is so low compared to Nokia (it only lasts for a single day, half a day when regularly used); and lastly, charging the phone takes ages. Can someone pls tell me if there is a way for this unit to accept WAV files & how long must the initial charge be for a brand new phone (how many hours)? Thank you.

I luv my e730! You can transfer stuff from pc through bluetooth - buy an adaptor if you dont have bluetooth on pc... only thing i dont like about it, is the pathetic 'flash' for the camera; its too weak for any particular use at all!

hye guys..i just read all ur comments about the phone..yeah the batt is quite bad as it is not lasting longer like nokia....and about how to upload mp3 from pc to phone, I also have this problem and last night my friend and I hv cracked it. What u guys hv 2 do is after installing USB drive and PIM and File Manager, or installed all as what have I done, u need to connect the phone with USB cabel and after that u hv 2 restart pc/laptop. Then u can open back PIM and File Manager and upload your images,mp3,etc to ur phone. U hv to explore some bit in the file as I still confused which menu should be clicked after 2nd time I open the file. I v 2 admit that it is not user-friendly and only 14-15 mp3 can be uploaded depends on the size. However just try it. Hope this can help u on uploading your mp3's and pic. Have fun :))

This is my very first Samsung phone & I'm extremely happy with it so far. I've no problem transfering all my mp3/midi/amr/etc files to the phone. I did it by using a Bluetooth dongle, the transferring speed's great & it only required 2 to 3 simple steps. There is speaker function for this phone, the sound is crisp & clear. All you need to do is press the 'Ok/i' button twice during a conversation to activate the speaker. Battery last me abt 1.5 day after the very 1st charge (about 14 hours) but I heard the battery life will improve after subsequent full discharge & recharging again. The ringtone volume can be louder if Samsung can help it. One more minus for this phone is that you cannot assign your own choice of SMS tone, it's just too bad. Decent quality pictures from the camera, they turn out pretty ok. Overall this is a great phone, I rate this phone a 8/10. I'm truly impressed & I will sure keep a look out for Samsung's future launches. Kudos.!! =)

I read some of the comments and based on my use of the phone.. the indicator, it is possible to check the settings. it may be off. The alarm can be changed to an MP3 tone that can be assigned to give off a waking music, try Hollaback by Gwen Stefanie. As per the photo, yes you take photos using the smaller screen, you can set a photo for your friends. set it at the lowest resolution so that the biggest file would only be about 5kb. it shows at the cover LCD when someone calls. There are no speakerd for it that is included. You may buy one though. Thats about it.

For the problem "video recording event has occurred" put the video recording sound off(if on) or on(if off) this shall solve the problem. in my phone the total memory is 82 mb but the company claims it to be 92 mb?

Charlotte, do u experience this problem only with the USB connection, or with Bluetooth as well? Bcoz i heard of this before, regarding the USB connection, and some say they solved it by reinstalling the software on the PC. I'm planning to get an E730 too within a few days. hi i have also been given a new samsung e730 for xmas, and i am also having some problems with getting images and music from my pc to my phone. i am able to view all the things i have stored within my phone and within my computer however i can not transfer anything from my computer to my phone and vice versa. i can select where to save the images and music to on my phone, and the files begin to transfer, however after a few seconds i recieve a message which says 'video recording event was occured'. does anyone know any way in which to help me or know how i may be able to fix this problem? thanks

Hey couldn anyone help me with the USB drive. Why this phone is very good: Well made, very good sound quality and nice compact design. Yes, it has it's share of problems (what phone doesn't), but as a cell PHONE, it beats Nokia. My previous nokia 6230i had a creaking face plate and really tinny sound, which is typical of most of the newer phones. Good design rules!

it's a nice phone, i bought it today, with great features.. although met some problem in the software it attached wiv... (PIM n file manager)it stil can b solved quickly.. rubber cover is a great design too, at least nonid to worry abt scratch on surface..sound quality n camera is far more better than nokia phone... recommended for all !!

Hey anonymous, Yes, the visualizer is a fake. It's just there to "visualize" the sound or something. So, it's just accessory. I don't mind, I'm more concerned about actually playing the music files. Hey Nibiru, I agree with you about that cover display feature. It's just not worth it to have something display and just fade away before you can even read the date. Anyhoo, the phone IMO is a budget phone, comparing to other Nokia devices it's cheaper with a better sound quality. Yes, there are a lot of bugs as well. Sometimes fast forward doesn't work, then the phone hangs. Sometimes you can't set the pics in Favorites to your wallpaper. Sometimes photos look too bright. I can surely name a lot of my fair share of complaints, but I might as well look on he upside... If the phone doesn't suit you, then I respect your opinion. Hey Jim K, About reducing the size of music files, you said that Nero can convert them to mp4. What settings are you using? At first I converted a file to mp4 and it was reduced to half the size of the mp3 version (around 1.6 MB). But I found that you can further reduce the mp3 file down to 48 kbps mono (1.3 MB), and it somehow still sounds better than mp4. Any experience with other bitrates and conversions? Hey loader, I've heard that you can dowload .mmf files that allow vibrate and melody at the same time. Haven't tried it though. Hey , There's no option to remove the date and time in the main display. And I haven't tried playing AAC files, as mp3 files sound better. Hey sandy, If you read back a few pages, someone actually talked about using Samsung PC Suite, so go up and read on that. Hey need help, It's not such a bad thing, but connecting the phone to a PC USB port is automatically charging your phone, and there's no way to have it otherwise. SE W800 works the same way. The reason it charges when it turns on is because it stupidly uses the charge to open up the phone. Go figure. Hey Hanne hansen, and everyone else, Maybe you guys haven't done the battery "break in", that's why the battery dies quick. Although I don't really play the phone's music for more than 12 hours, my battery can still last 2 days. Or maybe it's just because I don't realize it. Dunno. Even my old N6260 discharges after I use the radio for more than 8 hours... Hey Andre, I agree with what you said. Sadly, I don't ave enough dough for a new 6230i. Cheers all! =)

I bought it sure i was going to make a good choice, and the cell really has nice features, radio and mp3 are ok, camera is ok, screen is very good, pc connection through bluetooth is easy and efficient but... as i read here, i charged the cell for 15 hours each time the first 3 times, (EACH DAY!!) to (dream) the battery life could get longer cos, the battery life of this telephone is about 24 hours if you just look at it staying 1 meter far from it, and less than 10 hours if you use it as i pretend to use a telephone (few calls, some sms, little wap surfing, little bluetooth usage) The telephone also switched off twice by itself, and closing and opening again the clam it switched on again (**magicly**)... not big problem (maybe) but i dont like this episodes from a 2 days old phone Didnt thought twice... after a week i had it, i went back to the shop and asked them to change it, cos i am sure its not a bad battery the one i had in the package, but its the standard charge lifetime of a "normal" healthy E730 battery, what i totally dont accept nowadays from a telephone. went back to Nokia, buying a 6230i wich i am very satisfied of. i dont understand too the reason to have a second display wich just works for 3 seconds and then switches off.. maybe Samsung is sadly aware about the short battery life and tried to save their *ss not even setting an option in the software to keep the external display on in conclusion... the cell looks nice, it has good features but its not supported by efficient hardware (battery) peace!

why does my phone start charging when i connect it to the computer with a USB? Also, when i actually charge my phone, it stops charging then continues again. When the phone is off, the screen displays that it is fully charged but when i turn the phone on it continues charging again.

Nibiru, sounds like you have a glitchy phone matey. I have none of those issues with calls and I'm sure many others don't either. Rather than be aggressive about your opinion, letting off your despair & disappointment about your phone to this forum, you should get back to Samsung or whoever sold you the phone & sort it out with them so you can become a happier chappy with it... Hey guys! Look, all I've said is that in my opinion this is the worst phone I ever had... and I've had my share of siemens, erricsons, and a great deal of nokias.... I know that D500 was voted phone of the year, and Indeed It is more "stable" as I said.. no crashes and no serious bugs, but still has it share. E730 might look attractive because it has so many features in such a nice package, but actually I was very dissappointed by it. I mean for example (maybe I was rippedoff and given an already trashed one) but doesn;t the fact that you may have 100missed calls and the external display doesnt show you anything bother you? It does bother me...Or why would you have a secondary display wallpaper if the thing keeps turning off anyway (and its good it does that don't get me wrong, but comeon... two clocks it's too much for any intelligent person... what should you do with the analoque one? have it look pretty for 3s after you close the clam?)The camera is good, but what the hell is it with its flash? It's good only for looking for your keyes under the bed.. Don;t get me wrong, I dont give a s*** about flash but it's sooo much dimmer then on any other phone.. even samsungs. Listen, the list just goes on and on with the things that are UNsmart about this phone. I'm telling you... pretty piece of junk. I said it before... Excellent camera, nice package, but piece of rubbish! IMHO

Hey BM, Sadly, I don't have a solution for that cover display thingy. :P And I don't really mind if the screen goes blank, because the time is always displayed anyway. Hey Nibiru, I haven't had the call problem that you mentioned. Also, there's an option in the Calendars menu to add a schedule, and it lets you set an alarm every day, every week or every month. Sure the phone has its bugs, but no phone is perfect. IMO, it's still better than Nokia 6260, which is pricier but has less in the way of features. Even Nokia 3230 is slightly inferior compared to E730. Anyone that really likes the phone can just look at the plus sides of it and just bear with the downsides, but anyone who doesn't really like it can sure name a whole lot of negatives. So I guess it just depends with taste. Also, this phone is cheaper compared to a Nokia phone that has equal features.

Hi! Am I the only one who thinks this is just a piece of junk? I've been a hardcore nokia fan for years, and 2-3 months ago, I decided I wanted a clamshell, but looking at what nokia had to offer, I decided to buy this. Im now looking for somthing to change it with because ITS A NIGHTMARE !!! It has so many software bugs, i dont even remember all, but let me give you a taste: Sometimes when calling someone after ending a call and you're using the phonebook to select who to call, you end up calling the last person you've talked to, although the phone shows you're calling the person you want to... THAT 'S JUST BAADDD and enough... just imagine recieving a call you don;t answer because you don;t like the person calling or whatever and then trying to call your girlfriend and the person you just didnt answered to is picking up the phone!!! hellooo??? something else you say?? how about 10 other things that are just killers??? how about setting a reminder that you just can't have repeat itself every 2 weeks or hell !! every week!!! It's just a piece of junk... the battery is also garbage... 2-3 calls and youre half through (im exagerating a bit about the bat, but it feels like that). Look, trust a guy who got burned !! If you;re thinking of letting go of your nokia, even a 3310 for this one.... DONT!!!! Its not worth it, unless you like to have a dumb but pretty phone... NOKIA RULES... maybe SE too, dunno And another thing... you wont use the radio TRUST ME... and unless you have earholes wide ass a bottle, you wont get the handsfree to stay in the ear... they keep falling out... CAMERA is very good though... but overall phone is just a disaster... as all samsungs as I stood to find out (my girlfriend has a d500... same junk, slightly more sable)

Actually, Chineseman might be right about the problem of conection closing being related to the OS. I've been having the problem, and I'm currently running Win98SE. Those who have been having the same problems, what OS are you using? I've ordered a bluetooth dongle, so hopefully all will be fine when I get that up and running.

Hey BM, You can use either Bluetooth or the PIM File Manager, and they are independent of each other. I usually only use Bluetooth, since it transfers at the same speed. So it's your choice whether you want to use it or not. Also, if some of you are having problems about uploading large MP3 files, like 3MB or more, then you may be experiencing the problem that closes the connection to your phone. I guess it's either memory dependent (PC memory) or OS dependent. When I use Win98 to upload files, the connection closes, but when I use WinXP, I can upload just fine. So you're better off using Bluetooth again, you just have to buy a Bluetooth card (which connects to your USB port). It's not that expensive.

This phone is great! But I do hope someone has an answer for my problem. See, I tried using an animated pic, (a file with .gif extension) for my wallpaper. What happened was that it took a while for the phone to load the pic. So I closed it for a while. When I checked the phone to see if it worked, the phone displayed a "Memory full" message. I still had more than 10MB of free memory before I made the .gif file my wallpaper! Now of course, a wallpaper using up more than 10MB of storage really sucked. So I replaced the .gif wallpaper with a .jpg one. Problem is that now the phone no longer displays what happened to the 10MB that I lost. It's like the phone used that memory to load the .gif file, but now I don't have any idea on how to retrieve the lost memory. Hope you guys have any kind of solution so as how to get back those precious bytes that I lost... =( (I read some old post that someone else had a lost memory problem similar to mine.)

Naval from my previous views, from about before November the initial charging is 14-16 hrs 3 times each time it becomes flat to maximize the battery life. Some guy got the idea to some sites. im not sure but i did charge it that way. Average charging is 2 to 3 hrs and wait until the battery warm fades. Grape get any software that edits photos and resize it to 176x220 then WUALA!

Great phone in all aspects.....bluetooth works great for transferring MP3s..PIM software works fine to transfer all sorts of data (MP3s,PICS,contacts etc).....camera is great for a 1.3MP.and the 90Meg storage is wonderful......I already have 10 three minute MP3 songs, 20 poly ring tones and one 2 minute video and 150 contacts and still have a 70meg of storage left ! Question: How long does it take to charge the phone from an empty battery.....just on average....how long.....?

The connection with BT seems not be the problem, but the speed. It takes awfully long to transfer the files, and the Samsung tends to disconnect during the transfer.

To all who has the problem transferring mp3s from pc to ur phone. First ON your PC then insert the cd LOL! 1. Install the cd PIM file manager 2.0 2. Connect the usb 3. Run the program (PIM file manager 2.0) 4. Click file then setup (fill up the blanks) 5. Click the file manager icon. the one with the up/down arrow 6. At the upper left panel click the + sign beside the "My phone" 7. Click the folder "Music" 8. At lower panel browse your mp3s then click the file to transfer 9. Click the up button (upload) WUALA!

Great camera quality (1.3 megapixels) and the fm radio and mp3's are really good!! the only thing that maybe can be improved is the video recording quality.. i'm not saying its bad its just its not that fantastic!! but overall i think that this is the best phone ever, excellent features and i rly reccomend that u get it!!

hi, i'm a new e730 user. i have a problem managing my contacts. on my sim i had a few contacts and i have no permission to delete them, i am asked for a code. does anybody knows what is this all about? is it some kind of a general code for samsung? if you know the answer, please help me. generaly, it is a good phone, i'm happy with it and i've started anjoying the mp3 player, the vga camera and all. before the e730, i had an e700 and the 730 is much cooler. take care everybody!

Minkee there's no serious problem with it and yes it can read files from other cellphones. ive already tried nokia phones. yes it can play mp3/m4a's w/o earphones but of course not as loud as w550, w600, w800, etc and like those with built-in stereo/dual speakers phone. u can store more music by using m4a files than mp3s and it will not affect the sound quality.

Hey guys it's me again.. from previous post about call records glitch.. it seems that after resetting call timers and call list, the bug seems to have disappeared LOL.. perhaps occassional clearing of call timers is required :P cheers!

Hi Guys.. i noticed a bug in the phones software just yesterday.. it seems whenever i dial a number that's assigned to a speed dial, then check call records afterwards, a different person's name comes up, as if i called them but with the correct person's phone number... However, when dialling from phone book, call records are OK (that is, showing i called the correct person) Very strange.. is anyone experiencing the same thing? otherwise i might drop by Samsung Care Centre sometime. Please help! I received this phone but nothing will work. I type in my pin# for my SIMM card and then nothing. All I get is the phone model name on the display. Mohammed Rizwan, I've been having the same problem! Smaller uploads such as wallpapers transfer well. Its just the larger .mp3 files. Can anyone help?? Apolon-you can set it to vibrate only, melody only, or vibrate a few times first, then melody plays. It won't play the sound and vibrate "at the same time"

To the dude who doesn't know how to delete mp3's or mp4's, basically you open your PLAY LIST (which displays all the songs/vids you downloaded on the phone) and go to options, scroll down and click DELETE ^_* If you don't have that option then perhaps there is a problem with your phone :S Peace! I have this phone, and seriously it is AWESOME! It has everything (features wise), small, relatively good battery life and you need nothing else (features wise) when u have this phone :D

the size of the main screen is: 176 x 220 and the external one is: 80 x 64 so resize your images to those sizes and they should fill the screen completely. my e730 rocks; though i cant upload large files, 3~4MB to it via usb coz it disconnects.

Conrad use software that edits images like photoshop, photoimpression, etc. i dont know the exact size of the main lcd but try adjusting it to 176x144 or more (trial and error).

Hi, this is a very nice phone with amazing camera quality.(Looks like the only mama that�s gonna eat this is the D600 with a 2MP camera) I am very content with the overall functions of this phone and for flip open phone lovers, it is a must buy. Just one question - When you download wallpaper and set it on the internal screen, it does not completely cover the whole screen. You can see white space on the top and the bottom, the wallpaper only occupying the middle. Can someone please guide me to stretch the wall paper so as to cover the whole screen? Thanks!

After months of looking for a new phone. I finally decided on the E730. Let me tell you, this one of the nicest phones you can buy in my opinion. I totally please with it! The screen quality is amazing, the camera is really good. The mp3 player with controls on the outside is so cool. This phone is awsome, I HIGHLY recommend it.

Whenever I try to upload a large .mp3 file (i.e. a song) to my E730 via USB using PIM and File Manager, it'll stop partway through, saying the connection is closed. My phone will then restart. Anyone else have this problem?

I am in the process of purchasing the above-mentioned model. I understand this model has a caller group system. I currently have a Samsung SGH E600 and find this Caller group system very useful. However, I would like to know if, like my current mobile model, this model has the facility of having a different sms tone for every caller group. Had Motorola v620 but it kept dropping out the bluetooth module, ...E730 more stable but has no hands free, auto answer facility with my platronics headset. Not what I expected. Find the software very poor compared to motorola. Connection often not recognised and have to reboot with the phone connected.

i thought the E720 was onli a 1X mp camera?? anyway, at this site if u scroll down, there are samples of the video recording modes. i dont kno if the modes are for the E720 or E730. can anyone view any of the samples(highest quality samples) if possible and then tell me if they are what u get on the E730. i really want to find out about the quality of the recording, coz ther is no way for me to test it out myself :(

Jim B, no u can't use any headphones to listen to radio or mp3 as there is a different plug that fits into the phone. it comes with its own headphones and it won't work if u use any other one.

Dominic, That is the transfer speed setting between phone to PC via the USB Port. 115200 is usually the default & I've left it as that & it works fine. I Haven't bothered to play with different settings. Cheers, Jim K

Hi Dominic,.. Yep The headset is more expensive than the USB Dongle. I paid $AU110.00 for the Bluetrek headset & Paid $AU65.00 for the Motorolla Dongle. Not cheap and certainly not justified, but that's what happens with new technology. They're probably worth $AU3.00 to $AU5.00 at most to manufacture. Amazing, ..... No, when you play your media, be-it either music or FM radio, you will still hear it through the speaker fone & not through the Bluetooth headset..... Melih, Check out the following link to see both Phone reviews. The E730 is an upgrade to the E720. Lo, the songs don't lag and no, you can't play mp3's in the background while doing other fuinctions. And yes, you use Nero to convert them to MP4, which reduces them to over a quarter of the size with minimal quality loss. Cheers, Jim K

If users are encountering the error message "video recording event was occurred" the best solution to continue transferring files using the PIM File Manager is to reset the handset. Generally the error occurs after you have recorded a video on the handset and you are attempting to transfer files via the PIM File Manager. Simply switch the handset off, then switch it back on. Users should be able to transfer files subsequent to this.

Joao, Go for the Blue Tooth Dongle matey. Yes you can charge the fone through your USB cable, but you can also charge it through you normal charger too, which is better anyway. The package I bought does not include a USB cable, so I was wondering: Should I buy a usb cable or a bluetooth dongle to connect the phone to my laptop? Thanks Dominic, but my phone is online with the PIM software as the phone book entries loaded up to the software. I can even change phone book entries or remove them in the PIM software and it reflects on the phone. I just cannot get the option to upload or download to be disabled. I see the option on the menu but it is disabled.

Jim Here again. After reading some stuff about using your fone as a modem & surfing via your PC, it looks like you get charged by your fone carrier on a mb rate + time used on the fone. You have the advantage (I guess) of getting a PC screen view of the web instead of your mobile's screen view of the web - which can be quite limiting. CHarges are the same whether you use your PC' screen or your Mobile's screen to surf. The dial up is from the same fone. Cheers, Jim K

Hi Dominic. I know that when you surf the internet through your mobile phone with your GPRS service (Not your PC), the charges get billed to you from your mobile fone carrier on a per mb rate (depending on your fone carrier)and there are flat rates for downloading tones & pics to yr fone. As far as using your phone as a modem for your PC, I have yet to try that. Not really game enough to try as I feel my per-second rate on my fone service will be relevant & not my normal internet access on my PC through my ADSL Router & ISP. Just so you know, Nero can convert your videos & mp3's to mp4 beautifully, suitable for your mobile. When you get it (including your license to use the Digital Plug-In) & work it out, you'll love it !! You'll be able to fit 4 to 6 times more media on your fone. To convert Audio, load Nero Smart Start & go to Audio & click on the "ENCODE AUDIO FILES" Button add your mp3 song & under "SETTINGS" choose your 'PRE-SET BITRATE" 64kbps is good but I wouldn't go lower than 48kbps. For Video Conversion to mp4, Go to Nero again, click on "DVD" and choose "CONVERT DVD VIDEO MOVIES TO NERO DIGITAL" or "NERO RE-CODE". Import your video, Click on the "MORE" button at the bottom left & on the right side where it says "NERO DIGITAL PROFILE" click on "MOBILE" .. Then off you go.... Cheers, Jim K

Go to "MENU" press "8", "3", "9" and make sure caller ID is set to "ON" and checkmark the "WITH COVER DISPLAY" by going to it with your arrow down button & pressing the middle button called "OK/I". Just reading the info below mine & thought I'd put in my answers to some of your questions about the E730 phone. The photo quality may be 1.3 megapixels but the quality (detail) of the Pic is average. The zoom is great. Recording movies is ok and is at 20fps at low resolution. The ability to add a picture to a number in your contact list & also a ringtone pertaining to that particular caller is a great feature (Caller ID). I love the MP3 player. I have also found a great way to upload video clips perfectly and at one quarter of the size of the original Video, by using the "Convert to Nero Digital" program that comes with nero. It compresses the MPEG/Mpg/Avi file to a quarter of the size while maintaining quality. Same with Mp3's. Nero converts them to MP4 digital, which(depending on your compression settings)takes them down to a quarter or more of the original size. Which is great for a Fixed Memory phone such as the E730. The graphics on the main display is great & clear. The buttons are a great size & not troublesome to press. It's very user friendly & overall, the fone is great. You can get excellent buys of this fone via eBay as I did. Brand new. They sell in Adelaide Australia for around AU$670.00 to AU$720.00, but I got mine for AU$350.00 + $45.00 Postage. got the phone off ebay. battery is not a huge issue, just charge it every night, and if u cant, then get a car charger (like ten dollars) and charge in the middle of the day. the only problem is that if u want to use it in america, the reception is not great because its not an american phone, so it doesnt use all the same bandwiths. i called tmobile and they said i will have minute reception problems. whatever, i still love this phone

To Owen and Ayman As of all samsung phones with voice recorder, you can record the conversation while on call by pressing option then go to menu, select organizer,select voice recorder and then press record. After the call the voice recorder saves the conversation automatically as "Voice recording 1". The flaw is that you have to hold your call for a while for you to setup the process above. But then again it is possible to record a conversation while a call is ongoing. Thanks.

Well the phone is good,as i used E 630 before that one but i thought that with the E730 they will upgrade the options but....:-( well any way have any one been able to get the recorder to record the call while you call cause the E630 did that ...and i tried almost all i can come up with to make it work but no luck...so if any would u plz tell me how,? and for the battery time it's for 3 days for me and 2 days if using the bluetooth,video.mp3..etc just let Ur phone charges for at least 12 to 14 hours when it's completely dead...and that would be once don't over charge it every time...thanks

tips for uploading files from your computer: Music - Use m4a files instead to save (a lot) space for music. it gives about two to three times a mp3 file and of course u need to convert mp3 to m4a. (mpeg conveter/encoder) Video - It (I) cant upload mp4 files to video folder so i use 3gp instead. to your mpeg converter make sure to toggle the "same quality to 'true'" or something like that for better video quality. note: some video clips wont upload to video folder even if it is already a 3gp file. peace out!

I bought the phone yesterday and i really like it BUT i don`t understand why i can`t liten to the radio unless i plug in the earphones. once plugged in , the phone can play the radio with it`s speaker or with the earphones, but it doesn`t play with it`s own speaker unless you also plug in the earphones. that`s stupid! anyway..i was expecting a few more ringtones on it....

The battery life for this phone is dependent on a variety factors and varies for each individual user. Obviously, if an individual tends to talk on the handset frequently, then the battery life will be affected. Battery life is also influenced by mp3 and camera usage. I personally tend to use the phone frequently. I average a few hours of talk-time on a daily basis and occasionally use the camera. To h6x. You are probably using the phone incorrectly, since music I download into the phone automatically gets sent into the music folder, ditto with wallpapers, games and what not. If it gets sent to 'others' folder then you're sending some weird incompatible file into the phone. To Kimmy. Yes on both questions, I live in CA and am using the phone under T-mobile, if you get it and it doesn't work, bring it to a store to get the phone unlocked, most stores will do it for a small fee.

Amazing phone! The colors are just too good for words! Would have been better if it had a bigger display although the present one is not bad. The MP3 output is crystal clear and the camera quality real good. Lacks a flash though. I've had my e730 for a couple of months already. The only real negative points about this phone is that I can't do anything else while listenin to mp3's and the battery life. When you think about the price and features, this phone really does balance out, you get a 1.3 megapixel camera, mp3 player, video recorder, etc... The phone of course is not going to be able to compete against top of the line phones like the nokia n91 in features because its cost is about 2/3 of those phones. The music playing capabilities is very nice and practical, if you're sitting around w/ nothing to do just play your music w/ or w/o the ear phones. I doubt samsung had planned on anybody walking around w/ music at full blast, so their max volume w/ the ear phones is actually Really loud(try just sitting there w/ max volume on). Phone overall is great for users who want a bit more out of their phones, all you pda guys, should probably look somewhere else.

well, this is what i think about the e730. recently bought it, recently sold it. possitive points. 1. screen brightness and colour (super) 2. easy mp3 access. 3. one of the best clamshell designs. 4. good quality photo's. negative points. 1. video aint great. 2. sound quality is average cos doesnt support bass.maximum ringtone volume doesnt sound nice. 3.photocall is only when receiving calls. dont even think about customizing during making calls or missed calls. 4. external display options. (A)sms view has no information of sender. (b)missed call has no pics. (C)external camera turning off, operates from inside. 5.dont know if this is good or bad but it doesnt support wave files. value for money...? i dont think so. if samsung can improve on this petty things.. then no phone can compare with the samsungs cos colour wise... their the best! everything that i comment is useless if you dont care about the minor points.. :) enjoy!

hi,still deciding on getting dis phone or e720c cos my phone jus got stolen away. my brother holds a samsung e720c n i find dat e video is definately good. however e picture quiality is not dat great as e noise is VERY high. so jus getting some info on e cam for dis phone. does it lag while taking pics on e highest resolution? cos i intend to take it as n cam/phone n use it so as to save some cash on buying digital camera.

e730 is a nice mobile, no doubt. But still there are some problems or may be, only i am facing them. Firstly, in uploading mp3 to the phone. The uploading stops on the half way and the phone gets restarted !!! One more thing, how can we watch the movies downloaded from the phone on our pc???

I have just purchased a e730 and i am having trouble getting the settings for WAP and MMS. Samsung have informed me that they dont even have the settings as the phone is not due to be released in the uk til April 2006. Has anybody else experienced this problem.

Hi.I just bought a e730. I'm having trouble getting mp3's from the pc to the right folder on the phone.It gets in a wrong folder with a red mark over, so it cannot be played. How do I get it in the right place? I don't have a cable, but I'm using the bluetooth dungle. Does anyone have the same problem??

My only 2 issues I have had with the phone have been that the button on the side which activates the camera has gone off a couple of times in my pocket - one time it was on video, and I have about 15 minutes of me talking to my daughters while we were driving in the car!!! Hi there...I recently purchased the Samsung E-730 and i gotta tell u its just gr8...firstly its mp3 quality is pretty good, mp3's can be played without even having to open the phone..using the panel in front. I think the camera quality is just superb (4X zoom)as compared to other nokia phones.bluetooth works fine mostly.I had problems figuring out just how to transfer mp3's from my PC to the set...but once i figured it out its like a piece of cake..just make sure that u can only transfer files in the folders dedicated 4 storing those type of files and also install the softwere first and then only plug in the cable..unfortunately the heating issues are true..the phone does gets hot now and then but nothing to worry about...thats bout it 4 now...thanx 4 ur time...any mistakes then i'm sorry cuz this is my first review,any other queries then u can contact me via [email protected]

Hey Allan =) this phone has a dedicated memory for Java applications or Java games which is 4MB only. The 90MB shared memory of this phone doesnt share with Java. so even if you have a lot of space on the 90MB shared memory but your 4MB java memory is full, you will not be able to install or download Java applications or games.

If you have the same problem, the flashing on the outside screen, try switching your phone off or switch if off and remove the battery and then put it in again and switch it on.

It seems these two (X800 and E730) are identical phones in terms of filling and features. The only obvious difference is their looks, I personally prefer E730 even for a man as it is Black (can be also Silver and Red as mentioned in the review). Besides, the ratings indicated in the review for this one is higher than those of X800.

IP address: 216.155.165.050 Port: 9201 (if 9201 fails, try 8080 or leave it blank) APN: wap.voicestream.com (leave LOGIN and Password blank) hope this works. if not, call T-mobile to ask for proper settings. ask them as well if your MMS service is activated on your account.

i have this phone and works perfect. i couldnt get the usb cable to transfer stuff so i recommned buying a bluetooth usb adapter. there about 13 bucks on ebay. look for bluetooth dongle. does anyone know where can i download more games for my phone. i have cingular but cingular says this phone wasnt made for there internet service so i cant dl from them.

Yes, really excellent amazing phone! I recently bought one for my sister. Very nice phone! Mine is Nokia 6230i, which I of course love the most, but this phone has MUCH better video recording quality than mine (without those irritating small squares), picture quality is good as well. Still I would suggest Samsung to make the backside of its phones less convex and hence less contacting (or contacting with just peaks rather than the whole backside surface) a surface on which the handset is put in order to avoid scratches appearing on the backside (battery cover) rather quickly after starting using the phone.

Wonderful phone. No complaints about service, reception, functions. The only problem I have encountered is the ability to send and receive multimedia messages (photos, video, sounds). I am in the US and I am wondering if anyone may know if it is a compatibility issue or if I am just out of luck as far as sending and receiving these things. I'm pretty bummed about it because I love this phone. I have Cingular. Every time I try to send a pic it says "Unknown Subscriber"...and same when people try to send me pics. to Myc-T this phone does not support ringing and vibrating at the same time function. although there is one rington out of possible twenty that does taht. other than that, if you have your own mp3 ringtones, if will not work unless u change some settings or something which i do not know how to do

i feel that its an excellent phone.however i cant make out how to install some java applications like some softwares etc in it. i can transfer the file in it but it does not tell me how to install. the manual is also silent about it. can someone help please? for Sofia and few others having problems with software. please try using some other computer.though weird but it worked in my case.and also if u have not used the samsung software earlier! then it takes a while to get the hang for it. contact me if u keep haing the problem after trying

Thinking of purchasing this phone, actually i'm undecided. One thing i need to know that would help me decide is this. Does the E730 phone vibrate and ring simultaneously? Early Samsung phones usually vibrate 3 times then rings. i dont like this.

to uh huh. I had the same problem when trying to get the usb cable to work. Took me ages to figure out hopw to make it come online. Here's what worked for me and should work for u too. When u load up PIM and File Manager, click on the file icon in the top left hand corner then click on "setup", enter your name, phone number and e-mail anmd then under neath u will see a lil box that says "load data on blah blah on connection. click on it. then close the file manager down then re open it with your phone connected to the usb. Bobs ya uncle. Hope it works. Keep in mind u need to install the usb driver. This shoould work for eveyone else too! Yeew! Laterz
