It is not a water resistant device... why would you expext it to withstand the so called liquid damage..? I was also repairing phones in service and manufacturing environment for more than 10 years (on pcb level actually). So I know a few things about this topic. Liquid damage is not the failure of the phone. It is caused by inproper usage...

I own this device and I am happy with it. Works like charm, no lag. Camera quality is good in broad daylight but do not expect much in low light situations. Considering the price tag it is fine. Fingerprint scanner is working reliably since last update in october, that was the biggest problem of this phone (and A50's as well), but this is fixed now. Display is beautiful as it is expected from a samsung amoled display. I am using it a lot but since it hase a huge 4500mAh battery at the end of the day I still have at least 30-40% juice. On the other hand I never experienced heating issues with my A70 using the OEM 25w fast charger. So for the price I'd say it is a good value, worth the money.

A70 does have bigger screen, 6gb ram, but Moto one zoom have telephoto camera and i think better camera overall. I'm also in doubt between A70, moto one zoom and mi 9t. Mi 9t is better then samsung and moto one zoom, but lack of sd card is big minus for me. I know there is a 128gb version, but still i need a sd card slot

Hi, I had P30 Lite and sold it now I got A70, go for A70 is much much better, longer battery life, bigger screen, Dark mode, smart Stay, and alot lot much better, even the camera, altought the P30 Lite has a 48MP but the A70 with only 32 MP is much better quality. A70 for sure

If you're looking for a phone that's fast, has lots of storage space, and a big screen, you'll love the Galaxy A70. The camera on this phone is what takes the hit and makes it so cheap. Photo quality is satisfactory at best, on the front and rear cameras (despite the high amount of megapixels), and there's no image stabilization. Okay, well let me inform you. Yes, the A70's battery is bigger, has more ram and it gets quicker, more frequent updates. That is where it stops. The G7 is waterproof, 1440p display (which you have acknowledged), IPS display which produces more natural, more accurate colours. The G7 also has the superior chipset by all means (and gpu). The primary cameras on both have their advantages (OIS vs higher resolution, take your pick), but the recording and ultrawide camera are absolutely superior on the G7. The A70 probably has a better front camera on paper but don't know irl. The G7 also has much better audio capabilities. So overall, the rear cameras of the G7 are superior, as is performance and audio quality. But to each their own of course.

Please all the haters should stop saying what is not true about the Galaxy A70... this Galaxy A70 is a phone I have compared to all the best smartphones out there and the only difference between the A70 is the processor speed... the screen resolution in the A70 is good enough to preserve some battery life than if it was using a Quad HD+ resolution... The A70 has all the good specs you can expect from an excellent phone with an exception of a slower processing speed... all the system updates simply make the A70 an excellent phone for the price and better than the A50 too please

My brother, I don't know much about phones but I dnt think LG g6 or 7 can be close to a70 In terms of specs. The resolution is not the only thing that we look at in phones. LG g7 looks older to me then a70.

Oh my GOD you are full of crap. Amoled screens look absolute crap in terms of sharpness, especially only 1080p. And the colours are way too blown out and inaccurate. Battery size argument is valid. But who on earth gives a hoot about sd cards anymore? I have one and it is empty. I have 'only' 64GB of storage. I am using an LG G6 and the G7 is MILES better than an A70. 1440p display is much better quality. Please shut your mouth and stop spreading utter crap.

Fast charging is not bad at all as the battery can handle the supplied voltage and current. The technology behind fast charging is intelligent that it doesnt allow your battery to be stressed. As an example, you cant experience 25W charging unless the phone is locked to prevent processor intensive tasks adding up to the heat dissipated because of fast charging. As the phone nears 100%, fast charging is gradually removed to prevent stress in the battery. Thats why you will notice that charging slows down from 80 to 100% PLEASE DO NOT SPREAD MISINFORMATION

You mean Samsung Note 8? If you don't care about updates, go for the note 8 as it was a flagship phone & it still is a great device with great build quality, superb screen resolution & great cameras. A70 is relatively new with much better battery life, triple camera set up (but not as good as note 8) 25w fast charging & of course more updates in the future.

Fast charging is not good for the battery. The supplied charger with A70 has fast charging enabled which cannot be disabled in A70 battery settings (even if you disable it, it gets charged using the fast charge mode). So I have bought third party multi USB port normal charger from GEEKCASES and QUANTUMZERO from amazon India. If you are from India, you can buy it.

Only NFC, unfortunately no notification led. You can use 3rd party apps from play store, but be prepared, they consume much battery. I only use AOD built in one ui.

I actually have compared this Galaxy A70 to all the top well know super smartphones but yet realise that this A70 is better for economically sound people who can't afford $450 or more for an excellent phone.. I was also interested in buying the G7 but backed off as it is really slow in getting updates and the battery life is mediocre also it's really hard to find accessories for the G7 due to limited (almost no) availability in the market. Get the A70 & you won't be disappointed.

Tough choice. Honestly, i'd get the A70 if I were you. It's a better phone in general. AMOLED screen, immersive 6.7" display, under-display fingerprint scanner, crazy fast 25W charging, and really nice design. Since you're upgrading from the S2, I don't think this phone will disappoint you at all.

Hi! Back in October 15 I asked here for opinions on this beauty, so yesterday I bought it. So far so good, even faster than my Samsung Galaxy S7 opening apps, facebook, messenger, whatsapp, resolution is great, I like the big screen, AR emoji, and the white color on the back looks like pearl. I only found one little flaw with the camera sometimes it takes good pictures sometimes it doesn't and not as sharp as my S7 but It works for me, be sure you have HDR on so picture can come more colorful and sharp. By the way, I don't have any problems with the fingerprint, mine reads it very fast. I think Samsung did a good job with this baby, for those of us that can't afford High range cell phones like the S10, S10+, Note 10,10+ and iphones. So it will be my companion for the next 2 or 3 years that I do an upgrade. Question: Do A-70 will get the Android 10 upgrade?

Nice phone guys, I just got it and nothing to say, all what I need. I love the Dark mode, the screen resolution, the huge battery ( for no gamers like me, normal use / calls reading and so still in 68% in 20 houres), smart stay, camera is nice video 4K. It's just good for me, I tried Huawei, LG, Xiaomi, Wiko, and for me of course Samsung is the best.

S8+ is a former flagship device & has solid built quality & camera is awesome but the A70 is new & has some extra features like triple versatile cameras, onscreen finger scanner (which is not that accurate but does the job), bigger screen. If future updates & battery life are not your concern (as you mentioned) then the S8+ is still a great phone.

My early thoughts so far. Model SM-A705W tested on Rogers network in Toronto, Canada. Phone immediately prompted to download a 732.68mb update. That took it up to Android Security Patch Level of October 1, 2019. Phone is running Android 9 with Samsung One UI version 1.1 Got great signal strength and speed on wifi and LTE networks. Phone is snappy and responsive. Feels similar to Snapdragon 835 in casual, non-gaming use. Big, bright display. Incredible battery life.

I agree with you if you are upset because of rare updates. Samsung is as bad company as Huawei. They do not care of mobile phones after releasing them to market. I also stuck in July sec.patch. from Hungary. The specs are good, would be a nice handset - updates are important to me - but with no updates they kill this phone. regret having bought it... should have chosen Nokia or Redmi line, for that money you get better phones.

I experience the same you mentioned, I assume the fingerprint sensor needs specific color reproduction for the screen to work properly and for the Samsung logo... no animation at all for booting, I believe it's to trick us to show how fast the phone can boot up It's not that much or big deal anyway, simplicity in designs are somehow becoming more appealing in this modern age

Anyone noticed the 2d (Less colour depth with dots and scattered colours) effect on incoming caller display when the phone is locked with the fingerprint enabled.It always happens to me when screen is locked (in lock Screen ) only when fingerprint lock is enabled.It doesn't happen when fingerprints are disabled.It seems like a serious bug. And also my phone doesn't show any animated effect when SAMSUNG logo appears.It just stays few seconds without animating and boots up to the lock screen.

Unless you're an advanced user, dont take Samsung Galaxy A70 for Gaming. Samsung's Game Booster, Game Optimizing Service and Launcher throttles the phone capabilities. I disabled mine and it worked great. If ever you decide to choose a70 for some reason. I recommend disabling the 3 apps/ 4 process i mentioned if you face lag issues. Other than that. Samsung A70 is great for all other things youd like to do.

The photo camera is a big failure for a 48MP yet when zoomed in, you'll see the person's hairs less their strands. The video feature however is excellent . If you're a photo guy, not this phone please or you'll in for a huge disappointment. But if you'll use it for surfing and Netflix, it's great.

After last MLBB update it is now very fast in medium compared to my J8 in low settings. I can now happily confirm that the performance is very very good. 8/10 almost sd835 level

So it is equivalent to what the A7 2018 was back in 2018 and how it was with the A7 2017 in 2017 (same class) Samsung had always had cost cutting measures in the A series to keep it from exceeding the S line. So despite the 32mp and the 25w charging , this phone lacks the other very nice features of the S9 or even the S8+ such as a glass , metal build, snapdragon 8 series, UFS 2.1 (a70 2.0), 1440p, edge display, software update periods, nfc, ip68 etc. The s8 plus is a 2017 flagship so why would you upgrade (still an upgrade) to a 2019 midranger

This is a common issue on Samsung. Try turn it off and plugin the charger. If it charges, simply turn on the phone without disconnecting the charger until it's full and the issue should be solved from now on.

I received today the update of the 1-st September. Asked me to re scan the finger unlock. Fast and much better for sure! I see a lot of improvements. I really love this smartphone for what it is and what it offers to me. YES it is a middle range phone! No one should expect things of flag ship phones from A 70 but it really kicks some features of the greatest and flag ship phones of Samsung. Depends on how you use your phone. Can you post how much screen time you use? Go to settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Battery usage. Usually its around 10-15 percent per hr depending on how you use it. So you get around 6 to 10 hrs of screen on time per charge

Been using the A70 for over a week. Decided to switch from iphone to Samsung after 7 years. Biggest mistake ever. This phone doesnt sync with my Fitbit. The fingerprint ID is super temperamental. Doesn't work most of the time. It disconnects from wi-fi when it feels like it. And sometimes a page just freezes for a few seconds. Google Assistant also stopped working after 2 days. I've tried and searched for alm sorts of solutions to no avail. I'm giving this another month. Then it's going into the bin.

With the Sept 1 security patch update, Samsung has really improved in the fingerprint, its very fast now compared to former update, and overall performance is also great. I bought it last month. everything is quite satisfying except: Touch screen sensitivity. I use it to play PUBG. Much more difficult to aim (compared to previous cellphones). Don't expect to press the firing button until 1 set of ammo. It happens many times and before you realize it, you got killed. I'm really enjoying my A70, I think it's a really good phone for this price. Love it's massive super amoled screen, great battery life, capable cameras, super fast charging. The only downsides are low speaker sound & really slow updates but I can live with that. Overall a happy user of A70.

I had a similar problem with my Xiaomi pocophone, until I figure out that the phone has a kind of protection when is connected for charging to the Pc. So after you connect (my phone), you have to pull down the notification bar, find the line that describe the action of charging and there I have the option of a small menu, where I choose to allow the phone to connect to the Pc. I banged my heat to the walls trying to find out a way. I discovered by chance. Hope this is the case to your phone too. Good luck

Get at least the july 1 2019 security update (august update), i heard august 1 2019 update (september/october update) already came that greatly improved it even further. Plus added new features for the camera and better touch screen response. Same multiple finger print register, in my case using right and left thumb. For those who got tempered glass or screen protector, Go to setting>display>turn on touch sensitivity. Fingers not wet or sweaty or dirty and finger print scanner area not wet or dirty.

It's been 75 days since I have my Samsung Galaxy A70. So far, I'm still inlove with it. I love the One UI. Its Super Amoled Display. I also love its battery life. And how fast it ccan charge from 0-50% in just 30 mins.. I love using it everyday.. What I don't like about it is the updates released by Samsung. Since I bought it last July, only one update has been issued. The july security patch. I hate its Finger Print Scanner. It's very disappointing. I hope it will have an update that will make its Underdisplay FPS will work faster. Nonetheless, I love my A70. And happy to have it as my daily partner.

Hey I'm the author of the original opinion and have found a fix since then for my fingerprint sensor, I installed a screen protector on my A70 to protect the screen but did not have any issue after using it WITHOUT the Touch Sensivity setting set to on. But I noticed when turning it on that the fingerprint sensor was working better and would take less retries and time to unlock my phone. So this could be a fix for people who had issues as I did.

Hi. For camera everyone should install GCAM 6.1 and the proper use is the in indoor low light or artificial lighting shots are better as compare to stock camera. The fingurprint scanner results will be much improve if you scan and store same fingure 3 times.

Hey I've had the A70 since yesterday, I LOVE it so far! the big screen is something to get used to coming from a 6s! There's one thing I have issues with and have seen many people had the same issue which is the fingerprint sensor.This seems to be a highly debated feature some saying it works perfectly for them and others, like me, saying they had issues. Those for whom the fingerprint sensor works perfectly, how did you get your A70 sensor to work so well? any tips on resolving current issues? Is it possible that this is a device related issue and the user experience and reliability of the fingerprint sensor will change from one A70 to the next?

First of all my first phone was Siemens A35 so much for the kid part... Second, no need to get upset just because my opinion is different than yours. I've been using Samsung devices for years Note I, Note 2, Note 3 and 4, S5, S6, I can tell you right now that 3 year old device like Honor 8 can take better pictures than A70. A70 camera is usless without Gcam app, and I'm not talking about flagship devices, I'm talking about mid-range devices. Oh and you asked which phone can beat Note10+, how about Pixel 3 or Huawei P30?

Nah, camera ain't the worst & you can't compare it with the flagships for sure but it does the job (being a midranger) quite well. As far as the alarm thing is concerned I've no issues at all, I wake up really early in the morning & since 3 weeks this phone is waking me up without any hassles and lastly I'm not a Huawei fan so I can't compare the A70 with that highly respected phone globally.

Worst mid-range device!!! The only good thing about it is it's batery size and display. Camera is terrible compared to other mid-range devices like Huawei which is far more superior in every aspect. I bought A70 when it came out ( big mistake ) and all I can say is I'm very disappointed, it's not that fast considering specs, camera is bad, and it has some serious glitches, for instance alarm not setting off ( happened twice already ) which is serious problem if you are relying on it to wake you up and go to job... All in all, not satisfied.... And one more thing, don't putt under display fingerprint reader if it's not going to work...

Well said. Huawei always suck because there is no sAMOLED display and option for SIM 1 and SIM 2 seperately to change to 2G (GSM) / 3G (WCDMA) / 4G (LTE) mode. Samsung always rock. You can use 4G only network mode app in the playstore to make Samsung phones to stick only to the 4G network.

Wish the call recording would work. I don't have it in my phone settings. It was one the main reasons i brought the A70. my Samsung Galaxy A70 SM-A7050 doesn't have call recordings. I don't like the android apps for video recording.

The SM-A7050 SAMSUNG A70 doesn't have the call recording feature one the main reasons I brought this phone ocer the A50 because all the android apps are bad for recording calls. I can't also use HDR while video recording etc.

Actually not in my device. Everything works as it should. It happens also in my older device where i cant connect to a router while other devices can work just fine. I just restart my device and the router and everything works good. Please let me know if this solves your case.

A70 itself is a good phone which has everything you need in a smartphone with great battery life, good build quality, good triple cameras, massive storage and a lot more. You can try the Note 8 which is selling at a Low price now or you can go for the S9 plus. Huawei P30 lite is also there but it's screen resolution & battery back up are drawbacks.

First if all with due respect to the Y7 prime as it must be a God sent phone so can't comment on that it must be great though. Now taking about the wifi on this phone it really works exceptionally well close to the router I mean I don't stick myself to the router to get reception but sometimes I move out of my house to talk to my people over wifi and it works f@kin great but now I've started believing that Y7 is a God sent phone which puts all the other phones to shame. It works well near the router but it dosen't pick up wifi signals when you get far. I had y7 prime huawei before buying A70. It worked very well in my house second floor (wifi router in the ground floor) Now with A70 it doesn't even connect to my wifi router in the same place as connected with old y7 prime.

exactly on the camera part, specs shows XX mega pixel but in reality when you use its not that good. on the battery part that is a yes and no. if you leave everything on default yeah you'll be bound to have that battery issue. ahh the woes of android phones. 1. Location (GPS) one of the main culprit is apps that use location (GPS) at the background even your phone screen is locked. I turn off GPS when not needed, as some apps does use GPS even locked like opera mini browser. if you want to use location all the time for apps go to app permissions and only enable it to certain apps that deems to be of use. Like Camera for geo location tagging, and google maps. disable it on apps that I don't see the benefit enabling it like Samsung note, Messages, Samsung Members I'm sure you guys get the idea. 2. Data. only enable on specific apps that i would need for data like google maps, youtube, social apps that i actually use for contact like facebook messenger, whatsapp, viber and online games. disable apps like Bixby routine, Media Storage, MTP Host, Samsung Experience (I don't know why these turned on by default for data but I don't mind them if its over the wifi) 3. Always On Display 4. Gesture Stuff (lift to wake, double tap to wake, easy mute, palm swipe to capture, smart alert) 5. NFC only turning it on when gonna use it 6. Phone Visibility only turning it on when gonna use it for wireless transfer or sync with other device. 7. Bluetooth only turning it on when gonna use it for Bluetooth headset or speakers. 8. Bixby Stuffs turn this off if you don't use bixby at all. from 9AM to 11PM starting at 95% or 90% even with heavy usage (like playing mobile legends on full settings + using data for a total of 2 to 3 hours) the phone is still alive by the end of the day with 20% to 10% more or less. and it just takes 1 hour and 30mins to go 10% to 95% unlike my iphones that I've handle through the years specially when on heavy usage, the only good thing on iphones is standby time even if you turn on everything wifi, bluetooth, gps, data by default no settings to tweak needed. if you go heavy usage like always using it for media consumption it won't last a day without dying. i'm not sure on the new iphone 11 but will buy them as soon as its available for trade in for my iPhone XS Max to iPhone 11 Pro Max in my area.

its don't really much on how many mega pixel they claim, i tried using google camera app and its MUCH MORE BETTER than stock too bad its only using the 8mp camera (the center), THE REAL 12 MP on iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung GalaxN note 9 is much better compare to a70 or 50s that claims to have 32 MP and 48 MP this is basically SCAM to fool buyers, in a legal way. I use this phone about 3 month. The fingerprint doesn't work at all! I hiked 5 hour with A70 phone in Alps under 4 C deg, made pictures and day was very raining. Two day after inside phone on camera lens were water drops, phone misted and I couldn't make any picture in 20 C deg.

I'm currently using the A70 & it's a great phone. (1) Battery life is superb for me it easily lasts over a day (I'm not a gamer) with wifi on for almost whole day (2) super amoled screen is dazzling & great for watching videos (3) cameras are perfectly fine I use them a lot as I love taking pics & night mode comes handy in lowlights. The only downside is the speaker it could have been a bit louder, overall I'm satisfied with my A70 as it has everything I need in a smartphone.

This is literally my worst phone mistake in the last two decades. I hate the look and feel of this, but two things really stand out: 1) the decision to change the charger AGAIN – does Samsung hate the environment so much, that they want to make our old reserve chargers obsolete? 2) horrible biometrics – face scan does not work at all, and fingerprint scanning takes about 90 seconds with repeated attempts to log in. Delivering a phone this useless is an insult to customers.

Both A50 & A70 are great phones. I'm using the A70 & I'm comfortable with it's size as it doesn't feel that big. Now the screen resolution both have super AMOLED displays A50 6.4" (2340x1080) & A70 6.7" (2400x1080) so there's nothing to choose from. A70 has a bigger battery life compared to A50 with fast charging upto 25W compared to 15W on the A50. A70 also has better rear & front cameras 32MP. The conclusion is buy the A70 if you've enough to spend else get the A50 which is equally good, choice is yours.

Realistically it comes down to the size, no major difference between these two, to me the a70 size is simply too big to be comfortable, I would go with the A50 if you don't need the larger screen, regarding the screen the A70 has lower PPI and you can notice it even if you don't care.

I'm using the A70 & it's one of the best phone I've used so far it has everything you need in a smartphone. A50 on the other hand is also good & is selling like hot cakes due to its price & features. If you want big screen with big battery life go with the A70, else A50 is there with faster software updates than A70 which is a boost.

Both of them perform the same! the only difference between these 2 is that the A70 has 6gb ram, some other countries has 8gm ram variant, bigger battery 4500mah more megapixels bigger screen an 11nm chip. A50 has less megapixels but it takes great pictures, they have the 6gb ram variant and 4 GB ram variant, it packs a 4000mah and a 10nm chip so it performs really great as well, what I noticed by my experience is that the A50 gets faster updates than the A70.

what's with all these color discrimination? do You think just because a model has different color variant you should consider each as a different brand and unit? ffs they're all the same. just different colors. it all depends on your usage and your region's temperature. and to answer your question, no. it doesnt heat so much even when plugged in (and while still being used). it actually never heated to undesirable levels, and i had this phone since last May. i have the black variant.

i bought my samsung a70 2mos ago, at first the performance was so amazing, no lags, no problem especially when i'm playing games. but after a few weeks, i noticed that when i'm sleeping, my phone is sleeping as well. my bf is calling me every morning to wake me up, but when he's calling me thru fb messenger or whatsapp, it can't get through. when i'm playing on my phone and my fb messenger or whatsapp is idle, there's a delay of 2 mins of receiving messages. when i want to get my files on my phone thru usb, folders can be seen but when you open it there's no file. i already enable it on settings but still it can't be seen. i will bring this to service center to check what is wrong with my phone. if anyone of you is also experiencing these problems kindly quote me.

I am using it for 3 months. No problem in any manner. If kept in flight mode with sync, bluetooth and wifi off etc (very rare usage), battery life will last for 10 days. Finally updated the latest updates last night (featuring night and super steady mode).... night mode works well but with a time lag , got super steady mode but the focus slightly washing out, sadly they removed wide angle video capturing mode.... the finger print reader not works slightly better despite being a bit slower (improved accuracy).... one complain i need to state is that the image quality after capture became dull now .... pls fix this image quality output issue , its one of samsung best premium midranger smartphone.....

I have A70 from 1 month and I didn't have any problems with the fingerprint reader (exact the opossite I had to enter the pin just 1-2 times for whole month). The battery life is amazing, phone is fast I didn't noticed and bugs with the connectivity or anything else. Also the phone is not very heavy for its size. After the 01.07.2019 update in Bulgaria I received the night mode I the camera app ( I haven't tried it yet ).

A very good phone - except the fingerprint sensor which is just atrocious. I had to return the phone 3 days in becuase the sensor almost never reacted to the press, the record was 8 times I had to put my finger on the scanner for it to unlock the phone=_= And that was AFTER all the updates.

Yup it's a good upgrade for sure you get massive battery life, big super amoled screen, good cameras with lots of features, refreshing design & lot more. It doesn't have notification led but has always on display which is pretty handy as all the current notifications are displayed on the screen. Hope this helps.

Hi, looking at the specs of the P9 some of the advantages that it has over the P9 Lite are obvious, such as the camera(s) the processor and the size of the RAM. Storage of course is also a big step up. Other advantages you may not see right away is the Software (Android 9 and One UI, although One UI is dependent on taste), the bug fixes and (debatable) the build quality. One last one-up the A70 has over the Huawei is, obviously, the screen, I believe there is no comparison there. So, overall I really believe that this phone is a big step towards the right direction for you, and as for storage, it is abundant and you will have about 30 GB of it left over, so, if I was you, I would just pop in a 64GB SD card just to be safe. I've owned the Samsung Galaxy s4 , s6 , s7 , s8 , s9+ now i have the A70 and next month i am getting the s10+.. from all these phones this is the phone with the best battery ever.. easily a 1.5 , maybe 2 day phone.. i have 128GB of storage plus microsd card and 6GB of ram for just 400€.. and my country is fuck.. ng expensive.. you can get it much cheaper in some countries.. the camera is good for the price and so does that the performance.. stop analyzing the performance so much.. a bit up , a bit down.. it doesn't matter.. the performance is fine for the price.. and so does the camera.. the build quality is excellent.. and the screen.. OH THAT SCREEN... it is almost 7' of perfection.. super amolet with 1080p resolution.. watching movies in this phone is an amazing experience.. BUT.. the single bottom firing speaker is a limitation.. no stereo speakers here and that is a minus for the phone.. but hey.. you can get stereo speakers if you pay ANOTHER 500€ for the s10.. so stop complaining..for 400€ and maybe less you get 128GB of storage , almost 7' of gorgeous super amoled screen , super fast charging , decent camera and decent performance.. this phone is amazing for it's price.. if you can't afford the s10 , get this one.. you will be a winner..

Hello there. Of course, u cant compare the image quality with high end specs devices but what i can tell u is the camera, performance, has been substantially better after recent updates. Camera and picture quality, for this price range i am satisfied. I play Asphalt 9, Dragon Ball Legends.. Graphics are sometimes an issue but not all the time, frame drops happens but not too obvious. Gameplay is still enjoyable. But overall, this phone is great and basically has it place in all around device.

The night mode is pretty decent of course you can't compare it with the likes of S10 as the latter is far superior in terms of camera as it's the latest flagship offering from Samsung & is way more expensive than the A70. The night mode in the A70 is pretty handy to take pics in lowlight.

By default it shoots in 12MP, you can change it in camera settings to 3:4H to get 32MP but the only thing you get it's longer shooting process like 2 seconds and larger files but not a substantial better image.

I didn't mean to compare them, man. I just bought those 2 in the same day and just compared those 2 right away only from the camera aspect. A70 lacks of details but still good to go with its camera. If you got the budget, I have to say that A70 is great in price to performance and best deal to buy. Because it is Samsung and their after sales service is one of the best around. Also their A series this year is at the affordable price. You can compare it to another brand, maybe some of them got better chipset or bigger RAM in the same price range. But personally i will prefer the better after sales services. A70 performance is good too.

Honestly I agree with the fingerprint as not a good way to unlock. For the moment I have switch to face recognition that is way too much fast and responsive and I'm using it together with the pattern unlock just in case of not enough light to unlock the phone quickly. Waiting and being curious about the July update that we that are living in Europe will have it in September guess.

Thank you sir ! Yup and i just bought my A70 2 days ago. A70 is an amazing phone, it works well on me. The performance is great. No lagging and anything bad. Unfortunately it didn't has NFC (in my region), but the seller said i can use Samsung Pay as the replacement. I rarely use it tho. A70's camera quality is just good but not the best, i bought a S10+ in the same day for my dad and the camera is incomparable with A70. If i am not mistaken the camera quality on A8+ 2018 is almost as good as the flagship.

i downloaded CPU-Z and Ampere. Both identified my battery as Li-Ion. But guess what, In Samsung's Official A70 webpage, they did NOT mention any battery type specific for this device. Not even in the product box (at least i searched for any info in there but i did not find any.) What's important to check is the battery capacity (should be around 4400 to 4500 mAh). Battery life still depends on usage, and should vary for every user. Also make sure you bought the product from a legit dealer with product safety seals and official warranty card.

This is important for the integrity of the phone in any case.....who knows. I do not think there is a problem with your battery. Maybe the app detected it as Li-ion. Here is something you are maybe interested to read about the difference: Li-Polymer batteries safety performance is better, of course its price is higher than li-ion battery in the same capacity. Li-ion battery capacity can be higher than Li-polymer battery, if its protection circuit is designed perfect, the Li-ion battery power bank also is a high cost-effective choice. Hope this helps. Note 4 had a great camera no doubt as it had OIS which is missing in the A70 as it has been touted as a mid range device. I bought this after my S8's (which had an outstanding camera) screen dibacle. If you compare this phone's camera with high end phones you're gonna be disappointed for sure. Agreed the camera ain't that great on this but it's not horrible, I took lots of pics with my A70 in almost all lighting conditions and they were pretty good (not great though) for sharing on social networking sites. Just wait a future update might fix this issue.

If you upgrade from a flagship to a mid range device obviously things are not going to be the same. You switched to the A70 from S7 edge which was one of the best flagship phone Samsung ever made and it really had an incredible camera which is matchless even today. A70 is a mid range phone which offers a lot more than the price it's selling right now like 128 GB with 6 GB RAM, 4000 mAh Battery, 6.7" massive Super amoled screen with a new design so there are a lot of new things you get from a mid range device at a reasonable price.

Upgraded from S7 edge. Love the phone and everything about it, genuinely but the camera is a different story. The camera is horrendous in every way front and back in my opinion. My S7 cameras where far better and the misses note 9 just blows it out the water. Majorly disappointed and hopefully a update is on the way soon to help fix this.

I just purchased a samsung a70 mobile phone yesterday and I would say the worst wifi connectivity I have ever had in a phone is samsung a70. I was using another nokia 7 plus smartphone, it detects and connects to the wifi connectivity in my residence so faster, whereas samsug A70 does not even show the available wifi network. Hope samsung must fix the network issues with this phone immediately... Besides, it is said to be equiped with a 4500mah battery, but battery is draining so faster than the nokia 7 plus which is coming only with a 3800mah battery.. I am so desperate..

Rear and front cams are bad .alot of filtring even while turning off the filters.u can see that the picture isnt real even an iphone 6 cam is better it gives u more detail.i tried this test with many phones to capture a car plate number 15 meters away i failed with the A70 all blur .also i tried to focus on a gold necklace to read the small letters on it hardly captured them. The fingerprints is a disaster each 3 days i reenter and recheck my finger print again always failing to open the phone with my fingerprint.not so accurate its like a testing phase 1 fom 10 to be successful. Face recognition is good saved me alot of time while the fingerprint wasnt working.and tbh it opened on my brother face dunno the reason we are alot different. Everything other than those i mentioned above are great. Gaming performance. Battery life.big screen.sound.

If you open you table it shows white display and buffering buffering and inside means at home its works sometimes and sometimes not. After almost 2 months of having this device I'm still on the early may update. Touchscreen still not fixed and the fingerprint also. But I don't know why i still have this phone. Last night i received the mi 9t in flame red. Opened the box used it for a while although it's snappier than the a70 but i still don't feel like selling my a70 for some reason. I like it. i bet most phone companies (except maybe Apple's iOS, idk) don't roll out software updates globally. phone model might be the same but there are different versions [Versions: SM-A705F/DS, SM-A705FN/DS (Global); SM-A705GM/DS, SM-A705MN/DS, SM-A7050 (China, Hong Kong)], internal programs and softwares are different per region/country so i can understand the delay. and besides, nobody really cares aside from you that it still retains it's May security patch. the phone is still usable. no serious dangers unless you do sketchy things using your phone.

It's better to use your pointing finger than your thumb. In my case, if I use my pointing finger, it's much easier to unlock it without any problems. Yes, fingerprint unlock is a bit slow though. Sometimes I need to try 2 times depending on the angle of my finger.

I got this phone a couple of months ago, just before my trip to Alps as my Note 4 battery finally gave up and I needed a phone with large battery (I would be hiking without ability to charge often) and large screen (more convenient use of digital maps). I had little time and did not want to rush buy a new flagman device, so I decided to look for a budget options and look to upgrade later. I chose a70 because I got a real good deal and it had the screen and battery parameters I was looking for. Now after my trip I can provide the feedback and compare it to my old Note 4. Pros: 1. display is beautiful, though lower resolution then Note 4, but I guess newer generation AMOLEDs just look better. Adaptive brightness works much better then in old Samsungs. Notch in middle position did not bother me, at least less than I might have thought. 2. battery is large and I could tell it even though larger display probably drains it faster, I could have three days of moderate usage without charging. Charging is faster then QC2.0, not as fast as some chinese phones nowadays but still very fast for a Samsung 3. though a lot of reviews mention slow processor, phone seemed to be very snappy for regular usage. mind i dont play any games. Cons: 1. No wireless charging. I had wireless charging back cover for Note4, but I use it only sometimes at work and so far I did not really miss this function, but it is not there. 2. No stylus. I love Note stylus for taking notes because of how fast I can do this (and I take a LOT of notes) and also because form does not have to be a text (I can scribble some diagrams, drawings etc.), but regular text notes were ok in 9/10 cases and as they are already digitalized, they have their own advantages. I even consider my next real phone upgrade to be non Note series, however I still love stylus and it will depend on how good is Note10. 3. No waterproofness. Used it during the rain, still works, but dropping it into mountain stream would probably be the end of this phone. DO not drop it in the water. 4. Camera. I was hugely dissapointed initially, because compared to Note4, colors lacked vibrance, photos seemed to be not as detailed/sharp, lowlight areas were all muddy, etc. Well I was taking a real camera for my trip and did not consider to use phone camera much, so I decided not to be bothered by it as I really only needed large battery and large screen. However I can say that eventually I took quite a lot photos and they are not as bad as my initial impression, but you do need a well lighted scene and then the details are there, colors are actually more accurate then Note4, shadows are not muddy at all. On the other hand lowlight photos are still better on my five year old Note4. I think Samsung could have squeezed just a bit better camera in this phone, but they likely did not do this deliberately. You may check some samples on the instagram, all photos (but the first two) were taken with a70: 5. fingerprint reader. this is more of a personal issue, my main right hand thumb skin does not have a very regular pattern, especially when fingers are wet, so fingerprint reader sometiems would take a couple of tries to work. No problem with my left hand thumb, but I tend to hold phone in right hand so this was an issue for me. I would not even mention this, but I had no problem with old style fingeprint readers (like Samsung galaxy s8 uses), so there's that. In conclusion I was happy with my choice, I will still upgrade it to a newer highend smartphone but for the price I got it (~300 eur) , it is a very beautiful phone with a very nice screen for a price

I bought this phone mostly for watching videos. The added lenght compared to A50, makes a difference. With the A50, video is cropped with round corners, while A70 I can have black bars on side instead (16/9 video I think). The A70 does not have EIS, which make it less good than A50 for recording videos. Sound quality is ok, when listenning with headphones, unless you are a nitpickky audiophile looking for the best. Sound from speakers is clearely not as good as the s10, but if you care about sound quality, don't use speaker anyways.

A70 is an absolute incredible phone, but there are 2 main things that drive me crazy. 1) once you buy the phone and open the box...do not update to the May 01 2019 security update by Android, it somehow messes up the selfie camera, and you have to tilt phone sideways to be centered. 2) recording videos is great, but it seems to adjust light too much, so while recording you get your recording getting much brighter, then much dimmer, and it drives me nuts. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn this "thing" off. I looked at the settings for some sort of auto light adjustment, but found none. Other phones don't do this, but the price is so good.

The Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro are interesting, because both have amoled, and perhaps better specs than A70. But they have limited availability, at least on my country. I can go to a Samsung store or go to the local super market and easily buy an A70. If I wanted a huawei I'd currently have the choice between the P30 (too expensive) and the Y9 Prime (no amoled). The only thing I would miss anyway from huawei, is a better cam.

Wifi works normally same like s10 (razer phone 1,2 little bit better) huawei cant remember but same. Fingerprint... I never using this fing. But works well (3 days testing). Camera works great if you now what you talking about (top of the post kidds know much better what they speaking about colours etc... like many "WRITERS HERE" I think) Overall phone is great. I think Gorilla Glass 3 is way way better than the new ones. My real life experience based on these phones. 1. Note 2 - I owned this for 7 years now. I used to scratch it with cutter a bit heavy, gave it to my toddlers and dropped countless times, zero tempered glass since day 1. Conclusion : zero scratches, no hair lines even. 2. S7 Edge - broke the glass after 7 days. 3 months after Samsung repair, I see lot of scratches, some deep. IP68 won't work. Gorilla Glass 4 is weak. Conclusion : Garbage Glass protection 3. Samsung J4+ - 7 months of using until now, no scratches or hairlines. Battery performed very very well. Conclusion: Gorilla Glass 3 is solid than 4.

I have A70 and I don't have any problems with camera, but we could talk about fingerprints...It is bad, but I found solution for this problem in face scener, it's good and fast so i recommend to use face scener. After all, this is a good phone for that price because I don't see any other problem with this A70...It looks really nice, it's fast, has a good camera, enough memory, and maybe the best of all, the battery last much longer then other phones i had untill now. Buy A70 and enjoy. I do.

Yes it scratches more easily than previous smartphone I got. I made the bad experience with A50. Tempered glass protection is mandatory. Unless big scratch on screen doesn't bother you.

Well I know and accept that. I had before I purchased the a70 the A5 (2017) with so many amazing specs and features about materials and aluminium frame ect ect. I can't complain the building company about their projects with the A series. What you say is right but they have put so many more money in quality and performance inside this phone. This is very important. People are comparing this phone with s10 features and performance that is something unbelievable for the price they have. We are not going to kick with hammer or scratch the display to prove how resistant it is. Be sure folks to put a glass protector over it, enable touch screen sensitivity, buy a good case and unless you are not hitting the floor with it, it will last very long time in your use.

If the screen became black, then you probably dropped the smartphone on the floor (it start with a black spot, then spread to whole screen) . Otherwise use the warranty. I don't find interesting to replace the screen, I think it's less resistant to shocks. I prefer buying a new phone, even if it's more expensive.

Perform a hard reset, if it freeze. My previous A50 became unresponsive once. Solved with a hard reset. Might be linked to the pubg app.(saw a pubg user, complaining of same problem).

So, I got this phone for over a month now and it has a huge problem with the wifi antenna, While three other older phones can see the two wifi-s I'm using most often (roughly from a 20 meter distance, through 3 walls) this one can't see any of them. The screen is not large and it is definitely not suitable for reading and surfing. Due to the ridiculous 20:9 ratio the screen is a little wider than a 5.5 inch 16:9 phone, too tall and very narrow for comfortable reading and surfing.

Samsung certainly can make a better phone for cheaper, but their flagship need to remain competitive. Ss17 your correct, the A70 is exactly an improved version of the A50 but has slightly more cons. The A50's camera is more sharper while the A70 is a bit more foggy to be honest, and with the no night mode on A70. My Score in A50 is (4.8/5.0), And A70 is (4.5/5.0)

It misses no touch for me, when I type message. But sometimes it doesn't react fast, while I try to take a call. Maybe the tempered glass. I have no luck with the fingerprint (even when I take three) . I don't care of the speaker, because I use headphone when I watch a video. I would have preferred a better cam to the wide angle, for sure. Not the end of the world, if updates are less frequent than flag ship models.

I wonder why people write good comments about it it's such a pathetic phone. I have this device since almost a month now. Not my primary but my third phone. But whenever i use it i feel like putting it in the garbage can. So laggy overall. Very pathetic touchscreen quality. Misses so many touches while typing a message. 3rd class fingerprint. Useless wide angle camera and very low quality speakerphone. Haha still on may security update while my note 9 receives updates on time and so does my mate10. This is my second comment in the chart of A70. I am using it from 7 days now. I think the 6gb / 8 gb variants are just a trick for Samsung to hide the additional cost from taxes in each country. If lot of tax are applied, they sell the 6 gb variant, so you have the feeling that is costs same as elsewhere. For the user , it should make little difference in performance. I see at aliexpress that there's a 30$ difference between the 8gb and 6gb version.

There are multiple reason for the drop of profit, which includes the ban of Huawei. Amoled on mid-range smartphones (i.e below 400$) is not yet frequent . But yeah, it's progressively happening, they are probably realizing that it's a big incentive to choose one phone over an other. The cheap Infinix Note 6 is with amoled ! I don't see why the A70 would deserve to be called "fake phone", it's the best smartphone I ever got. Stuff I miss: - OIS - Better gorilla glass - IP68. For anything else, I just don't care. I'm not sure I'd prefer a pop up camera over a tiny notch. I noticed that smartphone with pop up cam are heavier.

Preferred my S5. The A70 is not come oi stable in my hand, it's too tall. It doesn't balance in my hand and I have to continually shift my fingers to support it - I use my phone with only one hand. Also the volume key is too high up on the side. It should be lower so it can be reached more easily.

If you want a bigger screen, take the A70. (and actually it's mostly the height that is bigger). If you want something more lightweight take the A50. Otherwise there's also the xiaomi k20 that seems to offer the best bang for the buck, but smaller screen than A70 . And finally if you want the "pop up" camera, there's also the much more expensive A80, but you loose the headhone jack.

Yeah, I thought too that it was a pity that an USB C to USB A cable was not included , or at least an adapter. While I don't care of the included earphone. Fortunately I got already plenty of USB A to C cable. 50$ is overpriced (priced mentioned by Nickun) . I got a pretty solid cable from rivacase, but don't remind price. (I think 10$ max). For 50$ I'd buy for instance an mp3 player with an already included cable :-)

I bought this because I am a tall guy so I thought wow finally good screen size but real soon I realized that I can't reach all the screen buttons and hold the phone relaxed. The second is the camera, it's horrendous, literally my motor g5 from 2017 takes better photos, I didn't test the video though. The fingerprint sensor sucks even with update which was important for me, so I returned it. It looks really nice and feels good and I really wanted to like this phone but I guess not today.

What makes a fp sensor better is being more versatile and more accurate while retaining the same security. You have to put yout finger in the same way as the first time you use it which is very annoying and it never wirks when your finger is wet.

i just recieved the ~470Mb update. The most noticeable improvement is the fingerprint unlock. it even have new animation. 「i rate the fingerprint unlock」 > when first bought: 6/10 (i used face unlock most of the time) > 1st update: 7/10 (better recognition but doesnt work half the time, if not most) > 2nd update: 9/10 (recognizes my fingerprint most of the time, but the time to boot up takes quite some time, sometimes faster) while still tad bit on the slow side, at least the recognition is much much better now.

Would someone please post raw jpg files of various photos taken by the A70? I want to see the quality for myself directly. My current phone, a 2015 Motorola X Pure Edition, has a pretty decent camera in that if I take a picture I'll be able to zoom in any small portion of that picture and get more and more information and details. I'm hoping that the A70 will at least be equal to my 2015 phone.

redmi k20 pro all good but you can't expand memory no slot thats why i when for this ... just buyd the a70 for personal use ( EU version ) ... i find the camera better then my s8 but not as worse then s10

I move from country to another country and my phone stop connect to another network .only show my sim card is inside my phone but he can't connect again to network . Only tell me put your lock key before in my country is work normal when I reach nigeria give me this problem

Samsung needs to change build quqlity of A70S. They should include metal body, gorilla glass at least v5 on front and rear. Water and dust resistant. We don't want 64mp camera with a plastic body. We only need the configurations that I mentioned at 30k device. Hopefully Samsung will change their mind.

How do you have the brain to go to another country but can't figure out how basic phone hardware works, if it's software network issue it can be fixed for couple of dollars, if it is just hardware incompatible, then u have to get a new phone

sure thing, mid ranger, they had the J series with good hardware and not that great body, and the A series with a better body while specs did not shine. Now they have the new A series where specs don't shine and the body is below J series quality. pff "midranger" . good one samsung, gorilla glass 3 and full plastic body. and call it midranger filled with great features like fake 32mp camera and bad fingerprint. snap a picture and look at the details. in a year that chipset will be well below average, and the plastic body sure won't help. what's midrange about it? at half the price of S series, and a quarter of performance.

The marketing says yes, but in all cases I found the 24 mp image quality is better than 12 mp. Same with A6+, A7 2018.

had my phone a couple weeks - had a lg G6 before this - this is a dream phone in comparison- not as nice as my previous but 7Edge- but very comparable- never stray from Samsung again.
