The good performance is because of the Cortex A9 architecture, Cortex A7, A53 and A5 are slower. The 1GHz clock speed helps too. The A9 is the reason phones like the Galaxy S2 are still usable in 2018 even though it's a 7 year old phone and that's coming from a user with a 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 phone.

For just regular daily-driver, it's not really that bad, even now in 2018. I can chat through Messenger Lite with only minor lag, I can read posts on Facebook Lite, again with almost no issue, I can play videos on Youtube (it's way slower on Youtube, but still acceptable) and I can even play simple games like Benji Bananas, Zombie Tsunami or Defender II. If you want to squeeze as much power from it as you can, you'll have to put all system apps that you don't use to factory versions and disable them so they don't take up as less as possible of your storage and run their processes on background slowing your mobile down. You could uninstall them entirely, but you'll have to root your device first and I couldn't manage to do that. About the hardware, the battery is not big but sufficient for 2-3 days worth of ocassional use and camera isn't for such an old phone bad either.

Using it on 2018 gotta rate 4 out of 10 Less than 512 RAM made this phone worse, the single core might do fine if only it has more RAM. Some tips to atleast make it snappy 1. Turn off sync when not needed 2. Disable some background apps 3. Dont install too much apps, specially those that run in background 4. Touchwiz is a bad launcher, try using other launcher you can download 5. Disable bloatware from Samsung So far using it to play music, occasional browsing, viewing email and SNS don't expect too much, specially gaming. This phone is not meant for it. Also no battery % info. somewhat disappointed that need to install or tweak to add one

if you have still got a pattern lock on your phone it is very easy to bypass by factory reseting the device, but be warned doing so will erase all of your stuff - pics music apps - everything. so if you want to do this : * power off * hold volume - and press power for 1 - 2 sec, you should now see a basic looking UI, use the volume keys to move up/down and tap power button to select, move to factory reset and select, when finished device will be as new......... this works on almost all android devices sometimes vol- is another key or vol + needs to be in as well, try any combos you can, doesnt work with sony phones u need software to do those

Bought an Oppo Neo 5 because my Galaxy Fame (this model) said goodbye. But what I'll miss about my Fame is the quality of pictures and videos vs my Oppo. I don't even think any other Samsung later than Fame has the same quality as this one.

Its a really nice phone that helps you to use the internet much more faster,the sound is clear when listining to songs on and playing games like assassins creed,temple run2,temple oz,subway surfers and fighting tiger on is very very cool so if you ask me, i will say its good for its price. Do not install the application too much because it can slow down the performance of the Galaxy Fame. If you want to install a "cleaner", use only SD Maid (more friendly with your RAM). I do not agree on the specifications table above, the actual capacity of the RAM is 445MB (Tested on CPU-Z, GT-S6810). Galaxy Fame fast heat when turned on the data connection is too long or too high at brightness level. Physical problems, can be seen in the chrome paint on the outskirts (easy to peel), Be careful when opening the rear (easily broken, because it is too thin) I just love on camera capabilities, a removable battery (in case damaged or submerged in water), Tips for that Galaxy Fame: set the brightness of mid (Do not too bright), dont use any widgets, Just use SDMaid for clening your cache, deactive Chrome browser from setting (Use another browser, Im using CMBrowser) (Actually there are several applications bloatwares, please carefully selected), do not install a similar application such as Super Touch, do not install 3rd party themes (just use the default one and It is okay), ... If you have other tips and tricks please comment below: D (My phone not rooted).

I agree with most of the comments. When I turn mine on, it takes 5-10 minutes to actually get running, otherwise it's REALLY, REALLY slow. And when it eventually gets running, it's not much faster anyway. It picks its time to be fast, it lags ALOT, and freezes ALOT. Also, it charges fast, but runs out of battery VERY quickly.

Had this phone a year and it is total rubbish. Took back to shop for factory reset as it kept crashing, spent 3 hours in shop and made no difference. Was told to buy new battery as it only lasted 5 hours, made no difference. I do not play any games onr music on it, I purely wanted it for texting and the odd call now and then and can't even do that. One 10 min call drains battery. Can take up to 5 minutes to open phone book to make a call or to open a text. Regularly having to switch it off and on again as it just freezes. Really really disappointing waste of money.

I got this phone 1 year ago and I faced alot of proplems I reduced these proplems by installing apex launcher and reduced the animations..I changed the app animation to ice cream sandwitch..the drawer animation :NONE the homescreen animation none or default I found myself getting a lot of ram available..my proplems were lag and hang..now..the lag is reduced...I downloaded messenger viber whatsapp and still lag is reduced...thanks for reading .. hope that help

It says on your specification that the MicroSD card is up to 64 GB this is wrong, I have just learned the hard way and got a family member to purchase the 64 GB MicroSD card for me from Singapore and now I have tried to mount it and it doesn't work. After looking elsewhere it says that the maximum that it can go up to is 32 GB. I suggest you guys change it, to save someone wasting money again.

I had to do a factory reset to enable the phone to be used as a basic phone which appears to be all that it is fit for , it goes back to the shop tomorrow . Anytime you type one single letter it will take from 2 seconds, to 5 seconds, sometimes 8 seconds, just t type one single character like "a" or "z". So you gain time to think on your holidays ;) And then whenever you get back to a PC keyword, you will feel yourself Great! In heaven. What a piece of shit. Hi guys... I got some ideas & tweaks for this one..first ..the apps..force stop the hangouts app..don't install ( viber - candy crush saga - Facebook messenger ) ..these 4 apps are the main source of lag on the galaxy fame..second..the widgets..don't add the weather widget..it is a source of lag too...third..clear the memory when you feel it laggy or somthing..fourth.. clear app cache..to clear it you have to read carefully..turn off your phone..wait until it vibrate..then press the power & home & volume up buttons...then it will give you a recovery mode list..press volume up or down to move the high light..choose "wipe cache partition" then press the power button...then choose "reboot system now"..your phone will start normally..trust me you won't lose data...when the device turn on..it will lag a little..go and clear the memory..it will turn off about 20 apps...all of these things will make your phone much faster..if you faced any proplem ... post it here ;)

i had this phone.....i had some ideas for making it fast...1-.don't install much apps....2-clear memory every time you feel it lagy or slow by pressing and holding the home button at 3 secs....then tap the task manneger icon at the left corner of the screen...then ..choose RAM and tab Clear memory...3- uninstall any un used apps that you installed before...4- force stop any rarly-used apps when you finish using...5- don't install more than 2 games that doesn't exceed 20 mb...5- when you finish using an app..don't forget to close it...6- VIP ...don't install the apps that clears ram..clean master..speed booster ...ram booster or ram cleaner bec. they will get your phone slower...7- don't leave the bluetouth..GPS ...sync ..On bec. they lags the phone..8- do not add the weather widget because it takes a lot of ram and lags your home screen......thanks for reading...wish i helped you...sorry for grammer mistakes :)

Guys... i had this phone.....i had some ideas for making it fast...1-.don't install much apps....2-clear memory every time you feel it lagy or slow by pressing and holding the home button at 3 secs....then tap the task manneger icon at the left corner of the screen...then ..choose RAM and tab Clear memory...3- uninstall any un used apps that you installed before...4- force stop any rarly-used apps when you finish using...5- don't install more than 2 games that doesn't exceed 20 mb...5- when you finish using an app..don't forget to close it...6- VIP ...don't install the apps that cleares ram..clean master..speed booster ...ram booster or ram cleaner bec. they will get your phone slower...7- don't leave the bluetouth..GPS ...sync ..On bec. they lags the phone........thanks for reading...wish i helped you...sorry for grammer mistakes :)

Hi paru, I think you will find that if you add up 2gb internal memory and about 700mb for operating system and probably 600 mb ram,that makes 3.5gb approximately and because you never get a full 4gb , it does sound about right ?! Hope this helps bluezee!

After 6 months using this s6810 i found these problems: 1-Rarely some friends dialed me and found me not answering (but not out of service) while i did not here any ring nor find any missed call note. 2-Sometimes fm radio opens when i perform other unrelated actions. 3-One of the video shots by the phone camera was destroyed when replaying it through the phone. 4-The device is generally slow in executing any command. 5-When sending sms, the phone does not warn when large messages will be sent on more than one part. 6-GPS compass is not sensitive enough when rotating the device. 7-I found one of two phone numbers inside a contact disappeared. 8-A name card sent to my s6810 through a samsung phone failed to open.

Navfree says it cannot move maps to SDCARD. The game Jurassic Park Builder was running nicely on HTC Sensation works really crappy on Fame, crashes a lot possibly due to lack of space. Hi there ! Personaly i am using two phone numbers from two different operators, so if i have to choose between the two phones i will probably buy the S6812. In addition to my description, i have to say after using many phones that the dual-sim categories are using much battery power and have a higher level of DAS ... you have to keep that in mind when choosing a phone :-) By the way, i realized that the Samsung Galaxy Young S6312 (Dual-sim) is a little bit much more enjoyable for playing than the Galaxy Fame according to its 768 Mo RAM. They are very similar but the Galaxy Young's camera is only a 3.2 Megapixels without Flash LED.

If you are in a strict budge, go for this. Its good for light users. It lags a lot during multi tasking and web browsing is horrible! The Jellybean user experience is flawed by the ancient processor. Looking to port gingerbread onto this, it would work like a breeze! I would suggest you to buy LG Optimus L7 II any day!

I see that many people are confused about the specs of this phone and about buying it or not, so lets do some explanations: - This phone is reffered as S6810, this one accepts 1 sim card. If you want to use 2 sim cards you must buy the S6812 (and don't worry, it has the same specs as the S6810. We are talking here about mini-sim of course ^_^ - This phone is good and easy to use for tchating, for mailing, taking good photos and calling of course ^_^ Its also capable of gaming but don't expect to play some huge games without lagging, it's just a 1 GHz single core processor with only 512 ram which is the minimum required for android 4.1 Jelly Bean to work correctly. Personnaly, i am a sort of gamer when i am not working, and i used to play emulators (snes, N64, neo-geo ...) and huge games on my phones, so I assure you, if you are going to do the same thing as me, this is not the best choice !!! I suggest you to buy a phone with at least a dual-core processor and a bigger screen to make you gaming experience comfortable! However if you are intending to use the phone normally and simply as i said earlier and to play mini games like Angry birds, cut the rope, ski safari or same ... this phone is absolutely perfect : - Perfect size for a smartphone - contains all the options you need - easy to use - all applications work on it without problems - screen not HD but not bad at all for a small screen smartphone - average battery life (like all the smartphones of this century ^_^) - correct photos quality with flash LED After that ... don't expect it to make love or to cook food ... it's just a phone you know ;-) I apologyze for my bad english, i am tunisian :-) Good luck for everyone ;-)

NOT BAD: Cons: -------- [*] Buggy initial software. At initial setup, it is too slow to setup, and keeps requesting details which you've already fed it. This could easily be fixed by Samsung in a firmware update. Same about the delay in unlocking the phone after pressing the button-4 seconds is too long. [*] The colors of the LCD look really washed out. Very poor contrast. Resolution is just ok. It's all ok for a low end Android phone if you're primarily looking for one to take calls on. [*] The length of the charger cable is too short, IMHO. [*] Only one of the SIMs can use 3G at a time. [*] MicroSIM only - I didnt know this prior to buying. Not a big deal, since my other phone is a Galaxy Note 2. Pros: -------- [*] Excellent voice clarity. [*] Good loudspeaker volume. [*] Good battery life. Without data on, it lasted around 60 hours in standby for me. [*] Light and compact phone. [*] Looks pretty much standard Samsung Galaxy. [*] Cheap (I bought mine for 7100) [*] Dual Standby (It remains to be seen, whether it works as advertised.
