  • Double check model number and be sure you got a LTE compatible model... Just because it runs Marshmallow does not mean its a 4G phone you need to look into it more! Another example is the J106H/DS (Africa) which runs Android 6(marshmallow) yet no 4G and then we have the Galaxy V2 sold in Indonesia that have 4G and Marshmallow...

I personally hate this phone. And the camera is very bad the phone is a disater. It even shows alot of ads when im on the home screen!!

  • Have been using this phone for the past one year. I have to say it's a very nice compact phone. Never had any problems whatsoever. Everything works fine. Of course it's not expensive so will not have all features. Only issue is that it have limited storage, so cannot install many apps and not all apps can be moved to sd card Otherwise very good to use

  • remove the battery and check if the battery terminal is clean and have no sign of pitting & scratch, if you saw a sign of discoloration, pitting or scratch on the battery terminal then you found the cause of shutdown. I have same problem as well.

  • The battery suddenly dies at 80% without warning. Sometimes its at 60%, who knows. Guarranty gave me a brand new one since it was barely a month old. Same problem. Changed batteries. Same problem. I was told it was because the battery wasnt calibrated well and i needed to root it. Same. Problem. Even if I had been super careful charging it and having the bare minimum apps, it was always the battery. In the end, I simply got tired and got another phone. It works apps very well for a cheap phone, and it doesnt even lag, and the size was perfect for my pocket. Frankly, I would have keep it for years if it wasnt for the battery issues.

  • Not expected to much from this phone.Bad camera.Perfomance at low level but nice to play games somehow.Storage is insufficient but pairing with good SD card that A1 rated managed to keep perfomance reliable.Some bugs found on battery life is still annoying.Manage to pass it by using good quality usb cable and low rated Amp charger that below 1.0A. Tough body case when dropping this phone more than 12 times in first 6 months.Non expert says it lags often when changing apps between session.But it will hold without crashing.TFT screen look dull but OK when Developer Options mode gpu screen composition turn on. Changing network 3g 4g little difficult when unstable network occurs but website manage my frequency keep stable all the time.

  • Not as good as expected. I have to adress to Samsung, that the 900 MHz HSPA(+) is not working. In my Huawei E5330 it works fine. It's a software-issue on the Model SM-J106B, never been recognized by the company. The camera has no autofocus. No Exynos-Chipset, slow, big bezels, unsufficient RAM, cheap screen, no USB-OTG. Otherwise works stable without issues. Has an exchangable battery. But what does the replacable battery help, if the phone has features that low? It's a wrong decision! A low price giveaway phone. If you want something better, you have to pay better. That's the message from Samsung with this piece to its customers!

  • My Jimini is OK. However, the USB is either faulty of does not support Flash drives (FAT32 etc). Can anyone confirm that their USB works okay for additional storage apart from the device and SD card. Also..........regarding the blurry photo's. This is more than likely one of (or a combination of) the following reasons. 1. Dirty/Greasy lens. 2. Low light levels. If the light level is bright sunshine, the auto-aperture of the camera is only open a short time but captures enough light to create a good photo. In low light (indoors or before sunrise/after sunset) the auto-aperture stays open longer until it receives enough light. Any movement by the operator will blur the image. This true for any camera that doesn't have low light settings or flash etc. It doesn't win any style awards, but neither will I !

  • Horrible. Battery suddenly drops to 0% even if you had 80%. It literally turns off WITHOUT warning. Its not even a month old too and the battery is brand new. Plus the only fat app I use is whatsapp. Hate it.

  • you have to charge the phone properly..if it turns off so sudden, and doesn't turn on, it only means that ur battery is empty or drained and that you didn't charge the phone to the fullest..using the phone while charging affects the battery power..it gets fully charge so fast, but drains so sudden..so you just have to charge it properly like turning it of or not using the phone while charging..i hope this helps

  • After only 6-7 months after launch (Marshmallow version), this phone received an update which made it painfully slow and reduced the (already poor) battery life. If I don't have Ultra Power Saving on, it drains to about 50% in one night, with everything turned off including screen. Also the ringer volume is very low and I miss a lot of calls because of that. At this price point, there are better options. Will never buy Samsung again.

  • most times that I use my j1 mini, something will happen to the call. It could disconnect, or switch on aeroplane mode or bluetooth or position. If I use someone elses J1 mini it often happens on their phone also, even though it doesn't happen to the owner. Does this happen with anyone else? How did you resolve the problem?

Played Arena Of Valor in this phone and its perfect ! , Minimal scratches in its tempered glass due to misuse and It already fell in the ground multiple times but the phone is still perfectly working .   • This is the first smart phone that I have had. I did go for a cheaper model, and I certainly got cheaper. There is very little I like about this phone. The volume is poor and there is nothing that can be done to improve it. Battery life is very short. I know that depends on what all is going on, but just one tune pretty much drains it. The thing goes into "safe mode"on its own. After going through the web site and going through all the procedures, including factory reset I still could not get rid of it. I took it to about everyplace around me to try to work on it and no one could remove it. Then one day, it was simply gone. Don't know why. Can't get any answers from Samsung. I wanted a less expensive phone and I got one and it is worth less than I paid. As soon as I get enough money together I will dump this crap and get a new phone, and never another Samsung product.

I remember a tft panel in the days of 2000 even before .... well at least it demonstrate that lollipop and marshmallow can run good on 1gb so why not flawless on 2gb or more.

  • hi guys, I'm back to report that the sales rep who tried to convince me that this is the way the camera is on the phone was wrong. turns out my brand new phone had a problem with the camera. booked the phone in at Samsung repair center where they replaced the camera. no more blurry pics. yes there is no auto focus but the pictures no longer look like total crap. I suggest if you have problems with your new phone don't waste your time with sales reps who know nothing rather hear it from a technician.

  • Could it be the card might have problem. I know some cheap brand to lost its content after 2 years. Make sure u use San Disc type 10 media card. Try to scan ur card in computer first to see any possible problem.

  • Hmmm.... i only know if i hold my finger at specific part of text i need to copy, then at top part of screen will display some icons for cut - knive, copy - pad note icon and paste - similar icon. I use Firrefox for it's omni ability.

  • Yes it has no auto focus, but beluve me, the camera is not the most depravity of the worlds tragedy. You still can snap photo with good clarity. If you really NEED to snap flower or document, please purchase snartphone with MANUAL MODE. I have posted minimal 30 pics in my instagram using this very model.

  • Have this model since May 2016. Camera is non focus but 5MP is adequate. I have some glorious moments in my Instagram using this phone. Please NOTE: this camera WILL maintain the low iso even in low light and the shutter speed WILL drop to 1/8 sec. in my own cases, so ... DON'T MOVE. Maintain the distance from 40cm or use extra plus dioptrine lense to shoot nearer than that. This model is surprisingly stable for any of my activity, include: web browsing with Firefox, fill in excell file using MS app tbough the screen size is eye sore and many office tasks i need to perform when computer is out of my reach. Surprise to be able to depend on this minion phone.

  • The phone is quite good. Anything made by Samsung is good value. The processors used in the J1 mini are quite strong and would take quite a long time for them to start exhibiting signs of fatigue. The firm (Samsung)is simply the best.

  • So I just bought the Samsung Galaxy J1 mini prime (gold). It works perfectly fine. lets see what happens after one month. Bisides I will only use it for Whatsapp, FB Messenger (talk) and Facebook. Maybe a couple of local calls (5+ hours) per day. Hope the battery doesnt give up. My Blu Advance 4.0L (I rooted and flashed myself) does it really good. I switched to Samsung because I love it. Hope that this one does not dissapoint me!

  • The J1 Mini is a cheaper end phone for a reason. It is a complete disappointment. The sound quality is not very good. The available high volume level is very hard to hear so you must always use headsets. Battery live is terribly short. The camera quality is poor. I got this for my first smart phone and I think that I made a stupid choice. Don't buy it.

  • Something like that happened to me before but with a different phone. Since your phone has to be in guarantee I would suggest to contact Samsung and make them deal with that problem, because it is defective. In my case the problem started right after I bought it and right away I contacted Samsung, they changed my phone.

  • Yes, it can move apps from internal storage to SD card if the app developer allows it. You can download the app called AppMgr III to scan for apps than can be moved. This is an all together lovely phone and one of the best at this price point. Fast user interface, snappy data speeds and has fantastic battery life. Android Marshmallow has great battery saving and background data saving features. Please note that the viewing angle of the TFT display is narrower than the more common IPS screens on bigger phones. The screen also looks coarser than other phones that cost more.

  • Yes it supports 4G for Android 6.0 for earlier it's not, the easier way to identify that is if it's Dual SIM, Dual SIM models of J1 Mini prime is 3G only, Single SIM models is for 4G. You'll find out if it's 3G only if it has DUOS on the upper right side. If it's 4G no DUOS on the top.

  • Purchased one last Monday (December 12, 2016) at around 3PM. Charged the phone of four hours. Setup the phone and test, it's great. At around 10PM (at work) my phone shutdown on its own for no reason and the power button is not responding. Removing and re-inserting the battery resolve the issue for a while. The power button works and turn on my phone. After a few minutes maybe 10 the phone shutdown again. I tried the following but the issue still persist. Turn on the phone with and without the sim card (each slot), Turn on the phone with and without my SD card. Factory reset. All the same results. I contacted the point of purchase and was advise to contact service center first. Please advise.
