I have had this phone for 5 years and it's the best camera phone ever. I've dropped it, jammed the lens etc, and it's still going strong. If I could update it to the latest android I would keep it. But sadly it passed it's use by date. Farewell K Zoom.

Love this phone! surprises and confuses everyone when a 10x Optical zoom pops out. The added thickness isn't much of a big deal, ok so it's much thicker than newer phones but then those feel flimsy and fragile. For those who don't know the difference between optical and digital zoom is basically that digital zoom isn't really zoom at all. What it does is stretch and crop the image at the same quality so you see larger pixels. This phone for me is perfect when at gigs and festivals etc when you want to zoom right in to get that shot without having to be right in there in the crowd or by taking a SLR and detachable lens (which normally isn't allowed at these events) Dear Samsung. Stop releasing expensive phones with minor improvements or software gimmicks and give us a new and updated version of these!

If you wish, you can have the charging port replaced. The replacement connector can be found on ebay or at rounded (dot) com. There exist repair shops who can do this for you, but sometimes they want you to bring the spare part yourself.

I love my K Zoom. I accidentally overheated it and burnt the charging port so now charge the battery externally. I don't want to get another phone, I love this phone but I cannot find where to buy another one. There definitely isn't one in NZ and I don't really want to spend $1,000 or anything near it as the original price was $300. My friends keep telling me to update as I sometimes run out of battery mid conversation, and have to take out the flat battery and put in the charged one. Why didn't they carry this series on?

If you have c-115 k zoom, it is 4g enable smartphone. But it is not showing lte option in mobile networks. If you insert 4g sim and go to 4g network area the phone is automatically showing 4g. No doubt it is 4g enabled phone. Thanq.

For camera - K zoom by far. I have the S4 version and it is far superior to anything else i've seen. Phone-wise though it is now at the end of its life. The camera does drain the battery & It's now a little slow (and a full charge only lasts a day on battery saving mode as with any samsung i've ever had more than a year) but the photos are still better than my partner's Iphone 6 and i've got thousands out of it. Its hands down the best zoom and flash i have ever had on a phone.

In my opinion, Lumia 1020 is a great cameraphone tha offres a good camera quality, but I think that K zoom offers a better solution (or a more complete solution), because adds a competent 10X optical zoom, good smartphone performance and good portability. lens replaced - now images are overexposed After I managed to fatally damage the mechanics of the zoom lens I replaced the lens with a supposedly Samsung lens ordered in China. The mechanics are fine, but now the pictures taken in daylight (even on cloudy days) are totally overexposed. Low light pictures (e.g. in rooms or outside in the evening) are more or less okay. It's not the ccd of the new lens, because I have the same problem with the one from the original lens I damaged. This is probably a stupid question for all you experts, but where actually is the divice that measures the light located? I guess it can't be the ccd itself, since I get the wrong exposure regardless of the sensor I put in. Or do you think the lens cannot control the shutter speed properly? Or could the problem be totally unrelated to the replacement lens? Any hint would be highly appreciated. Oh, since this site is about reviews: Would I go through all this trouble if I didn't like the phone/camera? I'm really amazed about the quality of the pictures - if one could only move app freely to the extra card. Has anybody installed marshmallow yet, and will that fix that problem? Thanks, and cheers!

You can absolutely edit word/pdf/emails with this phone it runs on Android which has plenty of applications to accomodate work, although it may not be optimal considering its only a 4-5~ inch screen, maybe for making out short emails and making minor touchups to documents or for reading them on the go. I can get a ton of work done using my phone however, i use it to manage my website and revise and update it on the fly, with android the possibilities are endless unless your wanting to do somthing graphics intensive like 3D game development.

I had a S4 zoom which was lost and bought a K Zoom to replace. This is my camera phone which I take on holiday and to events. I only use auto or preprogrammed photo modes and always get great comments on quality (for an amateur). Use a Note 5 for my main phone but am thinking of going to k zoom permanently as it has all I need, is fast,and is smaller than the Note. An around really good device.

About burn in issue...only thing that makes this issue is same as on other devices with AMOLED...and that is maximum brightness used on static background for 1 hour or more (for example:Start/menu screen...picture...game or anything else that is not moving picture from screen more than 1 hour).I had burn in issue cuz buyed used phone,that was used to be exponate in store,but managed to fix a little bit with "Screen burn in tool" and now its almost perfect,anyway screen burn in is no big deal it cannot harm your device in any meaning (what is done its done and can be only better with fixing tool aplication).I hope i have helped everyone who have this small issue.I had small problem,now my problem is even smaller and i dont want to sell my phone cuz that or change it for some sTUPID s 5 16/32/64/128gb cuz my Samsung got superior camera,sd slot,android os and cool look :)

Ok i know exactly what your problem is...your problem is something what we do call "Display burn in" what causes this,cannot be really specified..but if your "Burn in" images are not too strong i recommend you app named "Screen Burn-in Tool"...fix is not 100% guaranteed but as i wrote before...if "Burn-ins" are not so strongly visible fix will work to some point :) Good luck.

I've had the k zoom for eight full months. Coming from an ios and WP 8.1 background, I was disappointed in the software experience. Samsung's interpretation of Android 4.4.2 is clunky. Worse, the camera is useless due to lint buildup in the lens. I bought the device for the camera, and ultimately I've been disappointed. The camera is amazing, the flash is amazing, the zoom is amazing. The problem? Carrying the phone in your pocket will result in crazy amounts of lint inside the camera lens. Yes, if you are careless enough to put this phone in your pocket, you will ruin the camera. I haven't really been able to use my K zoom as a camera for a few months because of this issue. Bluetooth connectivity for music has a weird problem-- it drops during a song, then reconnects after shifting the pitch up about half a semi-tone. It makes listening to music via bluetooth an awful experience. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I'll repair or sell-- a 10X zoom, 20mp camera and xenon flash make this a very strong camera. I would probably tolerate the sub-par software experience to hold on to the amazing, linty camera hardware.

Great camera with Pro Suggest features for shooting under different conditions and for special effects. However unable to get the flashlight/ torch working so far. On touching the flashlight app the lens pops out but not the light.

Been using samsung galaxy k zoom (SM-C111) since Dec'14-Oct'15, & here is what i feel about it: Pro: -Good camera quality especially at night, with/without flash (as it have its night program) -Good front camera quality -Zoom capability up to 100M without affecting its photo quality -Expandable memory/storage *serve good job in terms of camera quality Con: -Heavy & bulky (might be acceptable if it come as dual sim=equal to carrying two phone weight) -No OS update to lollipop -Quad & dual core + 2gb of RAM, but sometime still hang badly, up to the point where i have to pull out the battery -Bad battery performance, especially when taking quite a lot of picture -Battery heating issues, during taking picture & gaming -As camera as its main attraction, i prefer it to have the screw hole to attach with camera stand *excluding the good picture quality, you might need to rencosider buying this device

Update: So in one last (3rd) attempt to get my issues resolved I took my camera in for repair at the Oxford Street flagship UK Samsung store. (Operated by Carphone Warehouse.) Where it has been for 4 weeks and counting! Anyone buying a Samsung should be aware of the levels of customer service you will receive in the event of any issues. I've now been on my old phone for about 2 months this year. I truly love the concept of the K Zoom, and the fact you can shoot 3:2 aspect ratio photos with it. But sadly even if it does get fixed or replaced I'm considering eBay-ing it and switching to a G4 or 5X, as truly the customer service could not be any worse and the more I read the more I am convinced that the same problem will just reoccur. I'll try and post links to photos of my repair letters from Samsung somewhere so that you can see this is genuine experience. After complaining about my experience I got a call from their customer service team in Sheffield who basically confirmed that there is nothing they can do to help. That all decisions are taken by the engineers and that the only option is to continue to send it back in for repair until it is actually fixed. Therefore if it's not fixed or replaced this time I'm considering a legal claim under the Sale of Goods act as the lens mechanism is not fit for purpose for a device which is also a phone and kept in a pocket.

Just got this phone and it's expensive for no reason....the S4 zoom i had for 1.5 years and it's much better...better shape, wheel zoom, screw for tripod mounting....this k zoom takes blurry pictures, the pictures taken at a distance are very blurry, flash pictures blurry....it's shit...internet is shit, no 4g , signal drops, battery wears out fast (without camera use, just internet) .... really not worth it ...especially not getting the newer versions of android...last zoom i ever buy...probably last samsung.

@ Naveen Reddy: Get your fone cam cleaned at the nearest service center, as yours is within the warranty period you would not be charged; I recently got it done. They might keep the phone for a day or two and return it with proper cleaning; you better save your data, contacts and chats before you submit your fone. To avoid further damage to camera in future get a cover which entirely conceals your camera lens. Hope this would help you!!

@ S4 Zoom User: I had used S4 Zoom for 6 months and since a year I have been using K Zoom. It faster, sleeker, and has better cam functions. Unless u understand the use of manual mode, u wont be able to exploit the features of the cam. one more thing be it a S4 Zoom or a K Zoom u need to protect the lens from lint and avoid getting it on to CMOS sensor, else u get blotches on the pics that u click.

Hi! Yes you should! It's a great phone with a great camera. The battery life is what you would expect from a phone that's running such a big camera. It runs quickly and smoothly. It's a little heavy and thicker than most samsungs but otherwise it's a great phone to have. Real eyecatcher when you talk in public with it!

The phone is awesome, its thinner than s4 zoom, has 20 mpx and its overall better. The display is awesome and the camera has plenty of options also it captures in my opinion way better than lumia 1020 or xperia z2, z3 or any other phone, just because you have the 10x zoom. If you dont mind sticking to android 4.4.2 as it wont receive lollipop, it wont be any problems. Also keep in mind to buy one of those autopop covers to cover the camera lenses.

I have had a reoccurring problem with this phone. This is my second handset with both the phone having the same problem. The camera decides that it doesn't want to work whenever it wants and won't for a few weeks, then work for a few and it just keeps happening. I've had my contract since Nov 14 and this had happened countless times. It's even been sent of twice to the store to be told nothing is wrong with it. Whenever it stops working it says preview timeout error but no one seems to know what this means. I've also reset the phone on few occasions but it keeps happening. It happens if I have an sd card in and when I don't so im actually pulling my hair out with it. I love to take photos that's the only reason I got this phone so it's a joke that it doesn't work, especially when I want it to. Anyone have any ideas please!

Recommendation : Don't buy (see bottom of comment) Not the best travel zoom, not the best smartphone. But the best combination of the two which means you'll never be without a zoom camera. Which as a parent is invaluable. I thought memory would be too small, but actually better than my previous Galaxy Note 1 which had an annoying partition limiting user accessible area. Speedy enough for anything I needed to do with it. (I'm not a big games player, but not sure this device is really aimed at you if you are anyway.) Removable battery which extends life of device as battery performance degrades. SD card slot which you don't need to remove the battery to access. Some issues with occasional dropping 4G signal on Three when stationary which appears to be a software issue, as restarting always resolves. One significant design flaw that I hadn't seen mentioned in reviews before purchase is that the retracting lens cover is under the outer layer of glass. I can understand why, to protect sensitive mechanism, but it means that is open to becoming scratched and then useless. Think Samsung should include a more manual lens cover mechanism over the lens and/or include a case with lens cover built in. However can't recommend purchase as, despite keeping in a soft pouch rather than directly in my pocket to protect the lens from scratches, dust has got into the lens mechanism. (Between the first and second layer of glass, under the lens cover mechanism as far as I can tell.) This dust becomes very visible in photos as you zoom in, rendering the whole point of carrying the slightly bulkier phone pointless. I have returned for repair under warranty twice in subsequent weeks. Both times with detailed examples of the issue. (Clear description along with prints of photos showing the issue.) Both times it was returned without the dust issue being resolved or an explanation why, along with an issue I wasn't reporting shown as fixed! (New battery first time, some charging issue the second time. How come charging not an issue when returned the previous week?!?!?) Googling ('k zoom dust issue') this seems to be a known issue carried over from the original S4 Zoom. Samsung should not be allowed to sell these devices until this design flaw is fixed. Recommendation : Don't buy this camera or its successor until you have read the real world reviews of people using for an extended period

K zoom is an amazing smartphone. As a camera device shots amazing photos, even to dark, with very low level noise and high definition picture performance in auto mode, without software low light tweaking, because it no need it... In high light level, camera performance is very good, too, with amazing definition even close to objects. The x10 optical zoom performance is absolutely perfect. As music player, the speaker is absolutely loud, bass and clear! Samsung has produce a good enough device, but isn't notice the quality of material... Dust issue inside camera lens after a period of time is the only BIG problem of this device... Camera focus after several times because of the black dots that appear on the photoshot wich is accumulated dust inside the lens. Im very sad with this problem, and i'll be more sad if they don't fix it in service that i'll send it the next day after i write τhis text...

This smartphone DOESN'T HAVE A LED FLASH AND WONT WORK AS A TORCH, it does however have a RED LED RF Light that pre-flashes in the dark but wont stay on longer then a second. It's a retarded move by Samsung, this model has a huage back that would easly fit a triple LED flash/highlight like C905 has.

I absolutely love this phone. I had the s4 zoom before this. The only problem I have found is that it doesn't seem to freeze motion as well as the s4 zoom. This is a must and I may have to go back to the s4 zoom, as that is the main reason I got the xenon flash. Any advice? I have tried playing with the iso and shutter speed. I prefer JPEG photos instead RAW photos. I don't need RAW photos. The quality between RAW and JPEG is very similar and you can compress more the file with JPEG file. There is no difference between lollipop and kitkat 4.4.2. I was waiting for this update hoping that I would be able to shoot RAW photos, but aparently it may not be possible. Galaxy s5 cannot shoot RAW photos with lollipop....so..its just pointless to wait for this update. Don't buy this phone. I have had it for 6 months now and I hate it. I bought this phone specifically for the camera dis-considering the bulk of the phone and now the dust particles make the image blurry. It has gotten so bad that it has now started to show up on pictures without zooming. The screen heats up very much with regular use. Its very unpredictable. Sometimes it is very cool with the same usage and sometimes it heats up to the point that I have to shut it down. The battery is also unreliable. It drains so fast sometimes and stays the same sometimes with similar usage.

Superb phone! Works amazing, no hickups, you can overload the ram it still works perfect. Not that bigger that the rest of high end phones yet camera is big advantage. I recommend it to anyone who takes more than one pic a day. Night pics with flash are simply amazing and I don't know a single person who wasn't impressed when they saw them. Low quality build. Two months ago I bought new Samsung Galaxy K Zoom from Germany, few days ago xenon flash died. Samsung support is lousy, they don't want to help you but just to get rid of it because you are not from EU. Because I live outside EU I can't find official service where I can repair my phone under warranty. To find spare parts it's like a mission impossible. No software updates, there is no even a voice that will be updated to Lollipop. If you buy it because of camera like I did it, do not. Camera is no better than any other models of Samsung like S4, S5 or Note 3. Only big thing is 10X optical zoom if you need it. Anyway, maybe someone of you can help me to find spare Xenon flash module? Thanks.

Stay AWAY ! i owned 2 of them .., after few days DUST enter into the camera and all pictures when using zoom shows dust particles , if you use zoom to a clear background as sky or a white wall you will see all the dust ruining the pictures, Samsung thats a Photography phone so next time take care of its camera, very sad and furious

I was wrong with the appliance. I never convinced the resolution of the camera; they say it is 20.7 MPX but it seems is not. I've had phones with less than 8MPX that give me better pictures. At 3 months of use it started to overheat so intensely that if you don't turn it off maybe it melts. When I went to technical service it seems there is no availability of spares because after three weeks they don't give me a date to return it. Also they didn't put any accessory market such a case for protection.

After a few days with the K Zoom, I want to say that this is the absolute hybrid device for those who love the photography. Playing with the manual mode,adjusting the shutter speed n iso, I'm just staying stunned. And adjusting the shutter speed while zooming in, the result is fantastic. I have tried many camera apps and for better results with the K zoom camera, use vignette it it always better than stock camera app, less noise, more details and better white balance overall with slightly warmer colors. It has Less controls but the important ones are available and enough for such phone cam. Camera Zoom Fx comes close.

True, its battery life is really short if you use many of their apps and camera, but the performance of the device is PERFECT. You can install an app called "Clean Master" that will optimize the K Zoom, and do a responsible use of the device. The K Zoom if you have a some failure is the same as the rest of the Galaxy models. It's currently the best Android cameraphone made it ever. *********************!!!!!!!!!! I'm just coming up to 6 months of ownership and really REALLY frustrated about the K Zoom. I wanted a good camera and lens when I�m out wandering and don�t want to take my Nikkon. I�m no professional photographer; but do like to take lots of pictures. Don�t get me wrong the camera is great although a bit tricky to hold for shots. My main beef is the bloatware taking up precious room and no settings to put pictures straight onto the card. I only have whatsapp, email, BBC news and Kindle apps (only 2-3 books at a time) along with a few calculator apps. I can�t run FB, or anything else as �Device memory is full� message. I don�t think I�m a total novice with my 2nd Samsung but dang? I also thought the flash was weak till I realized my leather case was reducing the flash effect.

bd if u love to take best shot just go for 1020..its a best camera phone and sound quality is just superb...the colour tone for 1020 is very high but if u take snap from k zoom in day light the colour tone is very bad...night shot for lumia is just super duper not using flash...i rate k zoom camera 5 out of 10 and 1020 camera 9...best camera i have ever seen in lumia 1020.zoom is also good..thanks

you can manually adjust the exposure....when you use touch focus in kzoom...actually the square that appear has another box inside it which you can drag to the bright light behind the subject being photographed ....you can get decent images

According to my Samsung software Kies3 my Galaxy K Zoom has updated the latest firmware, and it is the SM-C115 device, so please stop saying stupid things on this site saying that there is an update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat when you knows this is not true. Karthik, Samsung will not replace your handset if it is broken. Screen breakage is not covered under the warrenty. They will consider it similar as dropping your phone in water. You will have to get it replaced but I suspect that it will be too costly. Please enquire whether if only the glass is broken or the display is damaged.

I've owned the K Zoom for several months. Overall it's been one of the best phones I've ever owned. The zoom lens makes taking pictures so much more fun. Having a zoom for things like concerts, sporting events, or even a trip to the zoo, you can get amazing close up shots. Not only do you get 10x optical zoom, but with 20mp to work with you can even use digital zoom and not have much quality loss. As some have mentioned you do need to be careful to not get dust under the lens cover. I noticed a couple specs of dust under mine and bought a case with a lens cover and haven't experienced any more dust contamination. The dust doesn't effect the picture quality for me and apparently you can clean out any dust by removing the outer plastic cover using a blow dryer to heat it up and then a small suction cup to remove it. This gives you access to the actual glass lens and the other side of the outer lens cover. Once I got a case, the dust was no longer a concern and the phone has been great ever since. I even get LTE in some spots with AT&T. If it's not LTE then its on HSPA+ which is plenty fast enough for things like streaming HD video. I recommend this phone to anyone who loves photography.

Yes...dust is a common problem not only with this phone but any device having a movable lens...most of the point and shoot cameras suffer from this problem...i had is phone but i had to sell it due to this problem...the dust would eventually show up on pictures in form of black ugly spots..think before you buy.. cheers....

hi.. Further to my discontent on the Samsung K Zoom I bought last month SEPT 10.. the product is still with samsung service centre.. innumerable calls to service centre also not solving my problem. Now, they say the mother board is being changed and I will get it today. Guys, after buying with all zeal zest and this set is still in service.. am sure you guys understand my plight. Surprising even to note . despite of several calls not a single manager from Samsung had the courtesy to attend my woe's.. Long live samsung and this Customer oriented service.. No doubt Galaxy K zoom is an awesome device. Samsung did carve a niche for itself when it started the Zoom series and K Zoom is no exception but I had sale this device on OLX. Firstly, he resale value of Samsung devices is pathetic. I got this phone at its first price drop of Rs. 19999 and I was a happy customer. However wihtin a month of its ownership, I was disappointed with dust particles getting inside the camera lens. I invested in an auto pop cover and even a lens cleaning kit, but no use. The dust contamination was increasing day by day. I took good care of it and that was the reason that camera quality was still awesome when I handed the device to its new owner except a black spot that was caused because a dust spec went deep on the camera lens and not just on the camera glass covering. This was alarming to me. That dark spot was clearly visible when I used to zoom in against a briht background such as a clear blue sky or a white wall. That's when I decided to sell it off. I uploaded an advertisement for Rs. 18000 with the auto pop cover. I was further disappointed by Samsung when the price further dropped by Rs. 2000 yesterday for the Shimmery White model and is now retailing at 17,999. Consequently, I had to drop the price of my phone too to 17,000. Today itself, I sold it for Rs. 16,500 along with the cover. I know that I beared a loss of Rs. 5,500 as I got both cover and phone for 22,000 INR. But still I am satisfied as I could not wait for dust contamination to go worst and the relae value would have been lessend to 10000 INR. Guy, please beware of the dust issues with this handset. I did not bother to check reviews pertaining to this area of the the phone and I had to suffer a bit. The dust contamination can be so bad that you will just be involved in cleaning the dust and won't be able to enjoy photography. Take my words, if you want an awesome camera on a smartphone, go with Lumia 930, Lumia 1020, Galaxy S5, or Xperia Z3. Or preferabely, go with a DSLR. The dust contamination is similar in DSLRs, obviously due to moving lenses, but you can clean them as lenses are removable. This phone is good provided its price but think twice before buying this device.

Hi all. This is my review after 2 weeks owning the K Zoom. I love it. The ultra power saving mode, for when your sleeping or maybe at work and can't use the phone, is great. It goes all night and only drops 1% of battery. The camera is without doubt the best for a phone and it's a good smartphone. I had the original Note and this Zoom is so much quicker. The only thing is that cases are hard to find in shops and online there weren't enough that have a lens cap type protector. It just means I'm being very careful until one arrives. It is a bit heavy in the pocket too. But I'm getting used to it. Overall, I'm very happy. Good phone and very good camera.

i have this phone since the day of release and i would recommend it to anyone who takes at least one pic a day. I am not an average user of smartphones, do know lots and that's why i am just wondering if it's up to my phone or in general, or maybe mobile network, but I have some issues with internet connection on it, both Wi-Fi and mobile network internet connection. This my first samsung though, so maybe samsung users are used to it. While searching through browser or in some app, first page loads ok, but after a few seconds when I want to search further, i see there's upload but no download. Ping time is terrible, and I don't know if a repair will help since I cannot say that internet is not working but loading pages is either slow, or missing very often. Surprisingly, when I close all app with with close all apps, it starts working again but after a few scrolls, internet stops... i might say it sometimes is frustrating and worrying since i really do love this phone, cause it works great in general, no bugs (apart from this and it is probably individual). Any suggestions what might cause the ingernet blockage? Tnx!

Great/Awesome phone! This phone brings you all that the S5 does. It is somewhat smaller but in my opinion the S5 is too big. (I use the SAMSUNG TABLET 7" when I need something bigger...) The screen resolution is great and the color is also good. Processing speed and memory is more than enough. As for battery life, I do not think there is a phone in the world that would last me an entire day... I play games, take photos, go on the internet and change settings all day long. So far I only need to charge the phone for one hour in between my day while I'm active on the phone and also over night. As for the camera, this is over and beyond amazing! I have hunted phones with good cameras my whole life and this is by far the first phone with a camera that can actually be called a camera! The optical zoom combined with 20.7 MP is amazing! Even while in digital zoom the quality is still great! The video quality is even better than my SAMSUNG video camera (older model 2010). All in all I think Samsung made the best phone ever with the K-Zoom! As for the weight of the phone it is something to get used too but with the features the weight is understandable and does not really bother that much!

Great/Amazing phone!!! I love the size as it is not huge as the S5 and not miniature as S5 min. The screen resolution is awesome. The feel of the phone is great too, it sits nicely in your hand, the weight is somewhat strange but in 2 days I am already used to it. As for the features, the phone gives me all that my S4 gave me, which is all I need, with faster/better processor and very quick internet, even with WiFi hot-spot. As for the camera, it is the best I have ever seen on a phone, and I have hinted for camera phones always! The zoom is perfect in optical mode and even the digital zoom is great. The video quality is even better than my Samsung video camera, only thing, there is no flash while in video mode.

I'm not samsung fanboy, as device I prefer nokia. S4 zoom actually my first samsung phone I owned, and happy with it. As a person who worked with camera all the time, I'm glad this kind of phone camera finally came. For me, there are many times when I'm not working, I found many intresting object that I wish to capture as picture or motion picture. The things other non optical zoom can't do is the perspective. Taking picture in tele lens and cropping picture from wide picture is 2 different things. Trading this ability with bulk size is something I can handle. As for me, s4zoom meet my needs, the things bothered me is just the battery is drains so fast and the screen cant beat outdoor sunlight. So,for sure I hope samsung improve things in the kzoom.

I totaly disagree! The photos's and zooming are far better on the Galaxy K zoom, I am glad I traded the S4 zoom in, especially as the screen was small and lower resolution. Plus it looked cheap in comparison. Very happy.

Your comments are unreasonable. Firstly the display doesn't need to be more than 720p with that screen size, it looks really sharp trust me. The screen size is also ideal for a camera/phone combo. Any bigger and it becomes unwieldy. Also the camera isn't waterproof, how could it be with all the mechanical parts. It's not an underwater shooter. Finally 10x Zoom is about the maximum without creating an enormous phone with a bulky body. Also it has kept the cost down. I think it's perfect.

Zooming: I don't want to pinch display for zooming because at long focus i will then heavyly shake picture. I don't want to zoom with volume buttons since when using something to stabilize it will often push button and make unwanted zooming. It was perfectly solved in the S4 zoom with the ring around objective giving me a feel of systemcamera usage. Parctical usage: I want to be sure i dont drop camera. Espesially when zooming. It was solved perfectly in S4zoom with the thicker side giving a perfect grip slightly hanging in my fingers. So, why on earth have they removed the major two things making the device practical and useful and making me wanna buy a GalaxyZoom: the focus ring, and the grip ?????

So, I got the Galaxy K Zoom on launch day and my first impressions are WOW! It has far exceeded my expectations in many ways. The build quality is really good, it feels solid and it looks really nice (I have the black one). I thought the screen might be sub standard being only 720p but it really is sharp and bright and although super AMOLED the colours are not saturated at all. They have got the balance right in my opinion and the size is right too. It doesn't feel particularly bulky or heavy and the casing is grippy. I didn't have a lot of time but I did a quick comparison test with photographs taken from it in the same spot with my Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Galaxy Camera. I have to say the shots on the K Zoom at 10x optical were on a par with the Galaxy Camera and better than the S4 Zoom. I also tried 20x zoom that's 10 optical +10x digital and the results were far better than I expected, actually they were great. Low light level shots came out better than the Galaxy Camera as did the video recording. There are tons of scene modes and not forgetting the excellent AF/AE mode � This lets you choose separate parts of the picture to act as exposure metering and focus points. The only thing missing oddly enough is the tilt shift (or selective focus) as seen on the S5, I am not sure why that wasn't included. I also thought there was mean't to be an LED flash in addition to the Xenon, for video use but that's missing and there's no notification LED. But no great loss. But overall, it a massive improvement over the S4 Zoom and it's definitely good enough to replace my Galaxy Camera. It's pocketable, has full mobile phone function, better screen, battery life, interface and Android Kit-Kat on board. Missing only a tripod mount (I bought a smartphone tripod mount accessory to solve this) and that extra 10x zoom if we're talking Galaxy Camera comparison. I have only been using it for a day but I am bowled over. I have no regrets replacing the Galaxy Camera with this baby.

all digital compact cameras known to use the same size then they increase the pixel count ( all we know that increasing pixels gives more noise but more detail for the same sensor size ) and the final result is in the comparsion side by side under same conditions further information : increasing sensor size mean changing the lens i think to more complex design so if you can pay about 1500$ to get about 1" sensor , so ask the company :P

If you are talking about picture quality the K ZOOM is better (supposing the image quality isn't lower than the S4 Zoom). The Sony's phones have a lot of noise in the image (the firts Z series were awful). It's sad because Sony sells its best sensors to samsung and use the worst of them on their own products !

I like the look of the phone. Ok for a collector of mobile phones like myself. I wouldnt use it. I have the Galaxy camera. I'm into photography and I think you can't beat a good compact or SLR. Mobile phone cameras have got better over the years. They will never replace more traditional cameras though. Saying that I have a Galaxy note 3 and I do use the camera on that quite a lot. Mostly to send people pics has it's to hand. Snap and send. I have a Nokia 1020 sealed in the box in my collection. I wouldn't say it was the best. 41mp (38 effective) I think its great you can get that in a phone nowadays. But it won't sell more windows phones. Anyway the higher the pixel count the better for large scale prints. The human eye can't see more than 7 mp so on a 4.3 inch screen it's like any other camera phone.

sensor needs to be larger 1/2.3" is not enough for this camera, 2gb ram is more than enough, upgrade from galaxy zoom is good considering rear design-bulge at battery part and camera protruding out previously. battery is not an issue for me. OIS is something to always have without saying when we go above 13MP camera, esp. considering shooting capabilities of this fone.

Also, when you use Nokia's digital zoom you don't hear zooming mechanism sounds like probably on this one. Nice phone with great features the only problem again is the battery life inly 2430 mah, I hope when taking pics it doesnt drain the battery fast they shoud have made it 2800 mah atleast bec taking pics with that features drains the battery fast

2430 mah is not enough for this specs, it should be at least 2800 mah, as taking picture will eat charge alot

This device should have launched last year.. Camera bump has reduced by 5mm compared to S4 Zoom. FM radio missing permanently these days on Samsung phones and now Infra Red also missing, in the S4 Zoom the Zoom Lens had plastic cover which got scratches easily, hope this time its scratch resistant. Memory is very low just 8Gb, yea one can put applications on Memory Card but than you can not change memory Cards after that. The price is also High around 700 USD, Waiting for Review after Launch on May 21st

I hope those rumored shot of the said Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom would be for real, it looks way better than having the optical zoom like it was on the previous version. And is there really a 16gb version? I had the S4 Zoom but it's only 8gb, bought here in the Philippines. I've been watching for this one and hoping for a lighter and easy handling, and preferably the 16gb would be better.

@BABAK are you serious? My S4 Zoom can last 2 days with light use. I took it to a festival last year - it lasted me 2 and a half days with everything switched off (just using the camera... a lot)

the prevous one totally was good except the battery backup which was horrible and i sold mine because of this reason, i had to charge it three times a day which was really bad for a dual core phone

Let's hope it will not be that thick. :P If it would have a little bit bigger screen, it would be much better, and an FM radio for the radio fans.
