The phone is not as bad as it looks but ONLY if you use it on a custom rom(software) because samsung's official one is too heavy and the phone is EXTREMELY SLOW even if you barely have any apps installed.If you dont have the knowedge how to install a custom rom or dont have a friend who knows how to do it dont buy this phone. For custom rom I recommend CM11(4.4.4) or CM10.1(4.2.2) both work well,so its up to personal preference.I must note that 4.2.2 doesnt really work faster than 4.4.4 from my experience. Overall,on custom rom the phone worked quite fast,but it was obvious how hard it got pushed back from its weak hardware.A single core armv7 cpu that works clocked at 1.2ghz(only on roms,stock speed is 850mhz) and 512mb(around 440 actual) ram are not really enough to handle every task properly. Gaming on this phone is extremely limited of its low storage,its low resolution that some games dont support and obviously its hardware.You can play some light games and emulate gameboy advance and similar old systems through emulator apps. Web browsing is fair,but some heavier websites really slow down the phone till it would lagspike and sometimes soft reboot,however,thats very rare and it usually works well for the most websites. Apps like facebook(lite),messenger(lite),steam,discord,sky­pe,etc. work fine.If you need to check the social networks and browse in forums this phone will do the job. Youtube works on 360p.I highly recommend using an older version of the youtube app because the newer ones are very heavy and work slow,quite annoying. The camera is 2mpx and there is no front facing camera.There is no autofocus or flash on the back camera,so the quality is pretty bad.You can check for camera samples online,but simply said ''its better than a vga camera''.Video quality is 480p as far as I remember,I rarely uses the video recorder. The phone doesnt support 4g lte obviously,but still has 3g connection with mobile data and all common stuff. The battery is one of the stronger aspects of this phone.It can handle around 4 hours screen on time while using it with wifi and high brightness,if you use it offline with low brightness for something like ebooks it can last 10+ hours. The screen is 240x320 which is the lowest resolution that you can find on a smartphone.There is nothing good to say about it,its simply bad but you get used to it. The loudspeaker is quite weak,if you like playing music with full volume it still will be quiet. Video playback(without youtube) is pretty bad.I had issues while playing any movies with quality higher than 480p HQ,while some of them were laggy on 480p as well. For conclusion,if you find this phone for 15 euros or less its worth it,I guess(second hand,its 5 years old right now so its rare to find it new and its not worth to buy it new).

cheap phone, fell a couple of times but the screen dont break, when I call someone calls I have to wait 5 secs for the screen to switch on so i can answer. when i want to unlock, i have to wait 5 secs for the screen to light up. when i type i often type wrong keys cause the buttons are quite tiny. its a cheap but reliable phone that does what you need it at its own pace. if you looking to save money, perfect just be patient.

holding one of the buttons on the phone will let you close apps that you didnt not terminate proper way just slide them or press the pop up button to close them all. Otherwise use the back key to leave apps few times instead of (go to) home screen button on the middle

This phone is so sluggish, even some Nokia's can beat it! In 2014, I had one of these, but only for a year. Waste of £50-70 and 850MHz on Jelly Bean?! Still 2nd lasting phone I ever had. It's basically a 3", 850MHz and a 4GB model of the S3! It has one of the best camera apps ever, TouchWiz is still pushing its small 512MB ram and who wants Androse 8 running on this thing?

The phone is cheap. And that's were it ends. I wouldn't recommend this phone for anyone. It's slow, to small (in my opinion) and stays behind on updates. Ever sinds I bought the phone back in 2013 the phone received exactly zero updates. The screen is pretty bad to. The resolution is about 360p at max. It makes everything look very pixelated. If you want a good but cheap phone, avoid this one at all costs.

I am using the standard Samsung Keyboard. When I typing a text message and want to put in an emoticon smiley face, there is NO option to opend the emoticon menu. Well according to me , its an awesome mobile , but it lags wen u try to put heavy apps. But as for day to day browsing works fine , i love this phone becuz believe it or not, it has fallen over 55times frm my hand and once i dashd it on da floor too and nothing has happend to the display only thing is my back cover was slightly broken in da corner ... But eventhough it really didn't make any issue watsoevr . i've been using it for about 2years and this phone looks small but is like a hybrid device where everythng supports except for major apps and it gets laggy if too many apps are been used... I'm posting this cuz its time to go for new mobile now.. but i'll never stop using this mobile cuz i bet u ! no smartphone would bare more than 50 falls lol hell not even 1 fall xD ... cam quality and stuff like dat is pure shit bt i use it as a hybrid device mostly to use it as a wifi hotspot and stuff . Yeah true my phone lasted over 2 years now and it is still alive... the problem with this phone is sometimes it can be slow.. i am comfortable with the keyboard.. it isnt that stylish but it is plain.. my bluetooth doesnt work anymore so im having a hard time putting my files on my computer using bluetooth... even if i use a usb cable it is still has this error.. and also it really has a low memory without a memory card in it.. so you have to buy a micro sd card for this phone because i dont have one.. it doesnt have any free earphone.. no usb cable either.. and the charger are pretty much very vulnerable and easy to be broken.. it isnt strong like how some lg chargers are.. theres also an error if you dont have enough memory,in playstore theres always an error somethin somethin.. sooo yeah thats kind of a problem too.. it lags pretty much but not always.. battery life is okay.. some apps cant be downloaded because this phone is pocket version so i think you need a bigger phone and bigger memory with your phone.. i like to have another phone though :)

I have just got the galaxy neo after reading the opinions which mostly had bad reviews but then again each Samsung phone has a different style of using it that all depends on the user and you have to be patient with this one and the other small models and overall i still would rate a 7 out of 10 for this one , its quite ok once you get used to it

Very nice little phone, have had no problems as yet except for the fact that the specs show that the samsung neo is 3g capable mine can only connect via edge so either the specs are incorrect or the phone is faulty and no it is not the network as all my other phones and tablet can connect via 3g when hspa is not available.

Wow, what an unexpensive smartphone! If I manage to find any other quality in this shitty machinery they dare to call a phone, I will surely upload it here! Like seriously, this piece of crap barely allows you to listen to music while typing to a friend on whatsapp atthe same time! It is like those old white Compac computers, who could barely run C.S. 1.6 in lowest quality, I'm not even joking. I highly recommend you to buy one of these and "gift" it to your son when he behaves inappropriately, seriously, not having a phone is better than having that.

Personally, I think it's a great basic smartphone. I bought this phone unlocked for only $70 while travelling overseas after my Galaxy Nexus was stolen in a robbery. I needed a basic phone that I could use to keep in contact with family and friends. So far it has exceeded expectations considering the price tag. Whatsapp, Wechat and Skype works perfectly. I can also tether which is great if you have a laptop or a tablet with you. The radio is good for long journeys where internet access is limited and the intuitive motions such as the lock button on the side and volume buttons are great for easily adjusting settings. The only downside is the size of the screen which makes typing (even with Swipe), but considering the portability and weight of the phone it's a necessary evil. I haven't tried downloading games or anything that will require a higher processing speed, I also haven't tried to download music or videos (apart from youtube). Personally, I think it's a great entry level phone and perfect if you just want a cheap device while travelling.

I think that this mobile phone provides the basic mobile functions. It even have few sensors in its specs sheet. Look at other smartphones from samsung (example the galaxy s5) they don't even have a radio but hey this phone got one and it is recordable too. I say the internet is very basic too, providing a 3G connection at just 7.2Mb/s. It is ideal for a user that uses the phone mostly for social media and chatting. The battery life is poor and the phone only got 512Mb of RAM. The phone struggles to perform many tasks at the same time so stay away if you are a gamer. I'd say this is a bargain android phone.

i took it to the samsung service centre but the technician refused to come out and test it in my car. they kept my phone overnight and told me the next day that there is nothing wrong with the phone bluetooth. Toyota technician came out to the car and tried to connect it. it gives an impression that it is connecting but then the phone switches itself off. the toyota techo connected his own phone (much smarter than samsung) and it worked perfectly. samsung techo should try it in my car rather then just on some obscure blue tooth device in their workshop before telling met that there is nothing wrong with the phone. i think i will be better off returning the phone as it is still under waranty and buying myself a smarter phone.

The phone has most of the features you generally look for, but the processor is not good enough. you can do what you want, as long as you have the time and patience to wait for it to load. even simple things like opening your messages or contacts to make a phone call. For the price it is decent, but I would recommend getting a phone with better processing power so you don't wait for EVERY screen to load.

This is a good smartphone for young kids or old people who don't want to play games or anything, just have WiFi and download the odd app. If you want to play games STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE. It lags constantly on almost every game that involves even moderate graphics and the low-res screen makes it really hard to see the game properly; games like Temple Run are painfully slow and almost impossible to play. Also, if you have big fingers, you probably will find this phone unusable because the screen is really small. The cameras alright from the price but the video recorder is actually appalling. Also, out of the 4GB that is advertised theres actually only 1.8GB available to store apps, and the phone freezes sometimes. There are some pros to this phone as well; it's compact and it has a good bit of space for simple games like wordsearches or Hill Climb Racing - those run fine also. And the phone is the cheapest Jelly Bean phone out there, so if you aren't going to play games this phone is definitely your best option.

ok I got this phone at a really low price and for its price I think its an ok phone for a person that is a beginner with touch screen phones. previously I use to have the excellent nokia n95 being my first phone. few little problems with this Samsung, switches on and of whenever it wants and touch screen sometimes doesn't respond well, also when you put it on a table it keeps switching of and on for no ever reason. I have done some research on the internet about this problem and I realised the battery you get with it is not %100 suitable for this phone, meaning that the switching on and off thing resulted that the battery kept shaking in the phone, so I decided to try something, put kitchen roll paper inside it to stop shaking it and then it worked fine. out of 10 I will give it a 7.5 and out of 5 stars I will give it a 3.8 also I recommend better the Samsung galaxy ace or galaxy ace 2 my mum has one of them is good.

After my phone got stolen when I was traveling and I didn't have the opportunity to replace it with a decent phone, I quickly bought this one as a bridge phone, a short term replacement. And this is the only purpose I would recommend this phone for. It is clearly underspeced and I find it a pain to use. Let's see why. Touch screen: The responsiveness is very laggy. Sometimes I try to unlock it and it just won't work. I have to turn the screen on and off several times by pressing the lock-button and hope that it works the next time. I have a pattern lock and I usually have to swipe it in more than once until it recognizes what I did. When typing, sometimes it would get stuck and then suddenly write four or five letters at once. The touchscreen is very inaccurate though and I constantly hit the wrong keys. This also makes the swipe-input method difficult to use. I dislike typing on this phone so much that when I receive a message on my phone, I will walk to my laptop and respond there. Unfortunately this doesn't work for WhatsApp. OS: The phone runs 4.1 and doesn't seem to be able to handle it. Animations are never smooth and sometimes when I press the home-button it will take up to 10 seconds until it loads up the home-screen. Multitasking is therefore also not very helpful. When long-pressing the home-button in order to open the multitasking menu I also wait about 8 seconds until it can show me what applications were running recently. It can barely do two things at once. When I listen to music on this phone and at the same time surf the Internet (which is also horribly slow) the music will randomly stop playing until I re-open the music app. I assume this happens because the phone ran out of memory. I like to take my iPod with mid for this reason. This is why the multitasking menu is not exactly a multitasking menu than it really is a recently-opened list of apps. Every touch on the screen should be well-considered as it will take several seconds in order to show you what you did and if you are not sure if the screen recognized your input and bother to try again, it will usually turn out that it did recognize your first input, took a while to load the screen, recognize your second input as well and applies your second input on the following screen, messing up what you actually wanted to do because you have to return to the previous page, which will also take several seconds and so you waste a lot of time and battery life on fixing wrong inputs. I can't tell you how annoying it is if you can't turn off your alarm in the morning after the third try or pick up a phone-call and end up missing it. There are some strange bugs here and there. For example, when I turn the phone on, I unlock it and I type in the SIM-pin. Then I have to unlock it again and it goes back to the lock screen for some reason and I unlock it a third time. Battery: Even if I don't do much on the phone it will run out of battery very fast. I usually unplug it at 8 o'clock in the morning and by 2 pm it will complain about the battery being low. It will do that for about half an hour and then turn itself off. The strange thing is, that when I turn it back on it shows that I still have 30% of my battery left and I can use it for another hour or so. This is still unacceptable and I can't leave my house without a second charger handy. To be fair, because the battery is very small, it will charge quickly. In about 2-3 hours it is full and ready to go again. Until it turns itself off 7 hours later. With casual use. When I listen to a podcast or music the battery will die more quickly of course. Then this phone is only usable for about 5-6 hours. Build: The phone is made with cheap plastic all around and has the typical Samsung look to it. The back of the phone is removable (VERY easily) and you can exchange the battery, put in a micro-SD card and swap the SIM. The plastic back comes off so easily that I am afraid it will fall off by itself after a year of using it. The touch-screen in the front scratches very easily and won't recognize your input if it is not clean enough. The capacitive back and menu buttons usually recognize all inputs if the OS happens to not lag at the moment and so does the home button. The ear-peace and the microphone are acceptable for quick calls but for longer, enjoyable calls I would recommend a headset. The phone looks pretty fancy but after a month or two it won't have any of this fanciness left. The phone doesn't have a proximity sensor and tries to work around that by locking the screen automatically when you are on a call. The screen turns off after a couple seconds. If you want to hang up you have to press the power-button, wait for the screen to turn on, double-tap the middle of the screen and then hit the red phone icon. This process takes about 8 seconds and by then the other caller already hung up. I usually wait for that honestly. Camera: Let's not talk much about the camera. It's worthless and should only be used to ... no never mind. It should never be used. Conclusion: As I stated in the beginning, this phone should really just be considered a bridge-phone, a gap-solution that gets you excited for the next phone you are going to buy. The phone does everything needed at a bare minimum. It shows your location on a map, makes phone calls, sends SMS, uses WhatsApp, streams YouTube (more or less) and can handle basic apps. This is all this should be used for. With any other slightly better phone you will get spoiled. subway surfer lags , it has minimal lag when u close sync function , open blocking mode , close wifi and all , subway surfer can be downloaded from the web apk file. u cant see subway surfer on google play store , somehow if u google search and open the link , it will mention this device dont support .......... subway surfer and fruit ninja is the most obvious lag on this phone

I am donny from malaysia, i have bought it about 1 week already. i want to say this is capacitive touch screen , it is not resistive (i have nokia c6-00 ,that is resistive) gps is very very fast , indoor can get locked 20-24 satellite , because it has glonass support too , fruit ninja and subway surfer lags , however i fought out that , if u choose option unsync,blocking mode , off wifi etc all , close other app use app killer , it is run much smoother , this time minimal lag. subway surfer can only be installed using downloaded apk from web , google play store it wont support this phone. camera 2mp is suitable for close shot only , far shot many pixelated , speaker sound is ok no complained , i bought this for the gps+glonass function ,because my local phone .....ninetology , rebadged from china , the gps doesnt work..... I have tested papago gps app and driving using the nagivation , proven it worked best!!! the processor is 850mhz arm v7 , gpu is broadcom videocore IV , the ram from antutu is 4xxMB , maybe because the jellybean took more ram? overall this is a low end phone , unlike standalone gps , this phone can play simple games , can call , gps+glonass works best. the battery lasted very good , battery meter dropped very slowly. u cant complain much , it has camera , this is the world cheapest GLONASS phone , if i buy standalone car gps , i dont have glonass function , i dont have 2MP camera , i cant make call or sms , i dont have capacitive touchscreen , it is very value for money.

touchscreen does become unresponsive intermittently and its frustrating. if u want to play games free as much ram u can by disabling the inbuilt apps that u dont need from the application manager and restart the phone. dead trigger works but not smooth worsens after few levels

Dear user , I just want to tell u that an imprtant difference between Neo and Star is their processors. Galaxy neo has 850Mhz Cortex A9 single core processor but Galaxy Neo has 1Ghz Cortex A5 single core processor . A9 processor is much better than A5 even its frequency is 150 Mhz less . Hence you not need to think about price difference.

Actually has 4 Gb internal storage but only it is divided in 2 parts , one for ur own use i.e. apps and multimedia and other 2 gb cannot be used because it is ROM memory which stores the system architecture .

Just bought this one... It has the worst battery in the history of bad batteries... 1 day in standby and is still brand new... The other big problem comes when texting (sms, emails,etc...) because its touchscreen does not react to touching. I suggest using it for cutting onions on it. P.S. Feels great as a first impression. It is not the top line regarding screen resolution and processor, rather the opposite. If you are OK with a quite simple screen it is a great phone for its price. I bought it in Sweden at a sale for 55 euro. The sound is great though, and it also has a handy 3.5mm for anyone looking for an MP3 player which is also a phone with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, camera etc etc. It is quite incredible how fast usable smart phones have reached such low prices.
