Samsung Galaxy S7 - User Reviews

  • You will be brother enjoy it..GOD BLESS.

  • Samsung S7 is a great phone , do me a favor , please check your phone home button, can you see some space around it ?

  • Good phone only the battery will loose the performance. It needs Android 9 upgrade.

  • No it's too olddddddd now.

  • That's why buy midrange now better phones. Flag ship no point won't last 5 years

  • 4 years old now , no yummy pie. Batteries will die soon

  • SM-G9300 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 (14nm)

  • Hope it works out for you. I bought a T Mobile s7 last month, and it has terrible reception, one or no bars in my house. I took the sim out, and put it in my son's s8 in the same room, and get 4 bars. I just order an s8, hopefully mine's s good as my son's with my sim in it.

  • i bought one today and am satisfied

  • I have one, im goint to buy the iphone 11 to replace it

  • Bought S7, almost perfect look, onyx black for 150 usd, yesterday. Oreo works awsome, no laggy. Camera is top class, night specialy good, screen good even on HD, battery was drained faster after fast charging but when i used normal samsung batt charger it lasts longer now, its not crispy in hands, earphone is loud more than enough, screen brightness is good on half. Only thing i miss is stereo speakers ... so rates it 9 of 10, personaly have used S5, j5, j7, p20lite, a5, a7, a50, a70 and this one is way better

  • I've used it for over 3 years and still run good. Recommended for budget and worth considering even in 2019

  • Hell Yes!!! Go for it. I have mine with Nougat and is great, just love it. 2.5 years.

  • yes sure go for it! im using it in the last 2 years and im satisfied, good camera, fast response time, decent baterry time and it comes with a cool design

  • Would you recommend this s7 for these times?

  • never

  • It's unlikely that s7 and s7 edge will get android 9 unless samsung surprise us with android 9 update.

  • When lounch android 9 on galaxy s7 ??

  • thanks to make this kind of mobile.

  • does it support mhl?

  • How did you resolve the blacked out screen issue.?

  • It's really a beautiful phone with various functionality.

  • Samsung Galaxy s7 is the greatest phone ever am attached to it it fits me in every way it's like holding a compressed veesion of star it's so power full beautiful with a super cool design . i am so happy to have it.

  • Mine doesn't screenshot a mb d the battery doesn't last , I want to sell it

  • I tried to root my Samsung s7, but unfortunately i deleted samsung pay and know. Now always show, unauthorized acess even i clear its again seen .. Need help

  • But if you think about it this is cheaper and is a better phone specs wise than the se. Tbh most of these specs are better than the 11 pro

  • I use Nova Launcher and enabled the widgit for voice and Google assistance * Phone Screen OFF and Charger not connected - No response from for "Okay Google" command :-( * Phone Screen OFF and Charger connected and charging - "Okay Google" command works :-)

  • A big FU to Samsung. 2016 S7 no pie and Q already released. 2016 iPhone se running current iOS 12.4.1 and getting new 13. What a joke.

  • Go to Samsung member app and you can see Samsung official announcement.

  • Someone please Someone please tell me does ok google work while screen is locked like Siri does?

  • really any prove?

  • Dear friends, Samsung has confirmed that Android version 9 will receive for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

  • Someone please tell me does ok google work while screen is locked like Siri does?

  • Tbh it doesn’t seem so far-fetched, as in the US in some locations you can get an s9 for as low as $350

  • how many hours of screen on time you get using the s7 with medium usage and heavy usage???

  • Nope. I think its fake because when I move the 130$ to the price in my country, it turns out that its less than half the price of what its supposed to be.

  • Go for it...no regrets. I have 2 and overall it's a good phone.... fast, reliable and very functional. good size too. and most of all battery life is good.

  • Hey, I am getting a sealed packed S7 for $130. I was thinking of getting it for my mom. What do you people think about it?

  • How to go back to official Marshmallow, I only care about photo and video quality and battery life.

  • Try to compare photos and video quality shot by S7 with MM and Oreo os in YouTube. You'll notice the difference.

  • Is this valid for phones already in android 8? I bought a new one and android 8 was already installed on it

  • If you go to Samsung's page, they have all OS's available for you to revert back

  • If you go to Samsung's page, they have all OS's available for you to revert back

  • If your device is still in Marshmallow then do not upgrade to Nougat or even Oreo I repeat do not upgrade. Camera quality both photo and video has drastically dropped. I can't downgrade to Marshmallow, I'm on Oreo now. Samsung will not fixed this cause my want you to upgrade to new phone.

  • Yes

  • yes

  • Samsung hasn't forgetten the S7, just got the June 2019 patch.

  • I am not able to send sms to numbers with 2000. It means that I am not able to contact my doctor and I can not recharge my phone. How can I change settings?

  • My loudspeaker volume drops whenever I'm listening to. Games are just quiet. Running Android 8.0. Am I the only one facing this problem?

  • fast charging disabled ... to enable in battery options

  • Maybe to keep battery healthy i guess since is a old one .

  • Please, where is MOBILE TRACKER located in this phone? I can't check my airtime and data balances.

  • Hi, I'd like to know if android updates from 6.0 to 8.0 would harm any of default functionality of S7? I.e. camera quality degrades, camera shoot settings/options vanish... (I've experienced such things with another phone before) Thanks!

  • Android OS update ruined a lot of the camera-based capabilities. Gallery in particular has a meltdown trying to share a photo and adding a photo from within an app increasingly causes app to quit.

  • Cause its too old

  • Why Samsung not given ar emoji for this wonderful device

  • Charging speed has been slow down after update

  • yes i am facing same problem

  • After the may security patch, the charging speed has slowed down. Anybody facing this problem?

  • Mine is still on android 7.0.

  • Sry bro.... u can update now... now my mobile is get back to normal. I think i have an faulty display.

  • Nothing is wrong. Now display is look like cheaper phone. And camera clarity also worst.i dont know why??

  • Is there anything worng with the update? Using s7 and just got the update.

  • Really? was there any improvement on other stuff?

  • Dont update may security update. After the update camera clarity is very worst

  • Best Camera, Super Performance, Good Battery, Excellence Phone. Who cares for Samsung Update as long XDA forum exist! I suggest to everyone to buy it worth

  • Is this worth it for £130 on ebay?

  • Pe cand android 9?

  • Yes, you will get the android update.

  • You want pie just buy new phone..

  • Will it get the 9.0 pie update?

  • This phone lagged little after 6month I used cache cleaner....it is smooth now.

  • I have using this phone since 2016. My variant is Exynoss 8890. This phone is a phone who can last 3 or 4 years. The Pros : Heavy Gaming ? Medium set(According to Current Requirement) Check. Opening App ? Fast. Durability ? Super Check (Not like his Big Brother). Water Resist ? Check. Mobility ? Super Check. Display ? Good Check. The exynoss 8890 ? This is where SAMSUNG HIGHEST of his loving costumer PICK! The Pros within Cons : The bezzles seems thick ? No problem when drop the phone from the edge, the screen will not shatter like his big brother does. The Phones runs hot ? Not worry your performance is still good, it does hot but not really throttling. The Cons : Stock Software basically BAD! The frontfacing and rear camera fix it with GCAM. App Management is bad also, you really need Custom ROM. The vague me, Battery ? It is a 5inch phone, what you expected ? but it trades with durability, mobility. Its a 5inch phone !

  • I just bought one and let me tell you it's better than my partner's iPhone 7...totally worth it.

  • Sure. They will send security updates in three months but update you with Pie! Nonsense. Do not spam!!

  • This month android 9 pie will come in s7 s7 edge guys wait this month.today i see news so third update will come soon.

  • is very sad not receive Androin Pie :( samsung is shit brand

  • In Romania, my contry, this phone's price is under 500$ (~2000 RON, our money) if u go on Black Onyx and 32GB. Sealed, not Second Hand! In 2016, the price of this was ~700$ on the same version. Now is very cheap, good quality, of course u don't get Android Pie (max. version is Oreo now). I don't have a S7, I have an A5 (2016) but i know from one of my friends.

  • I think we staying with 8.0, but if that bothers you you can install 9.0 rom wich samsung actually made for Note FE wich people customized it to work with s7, so it basically same 9.0 as in Note FE after installing that rom wich is official Samung 9.0 rom

  • This phone is still worth it in 2019....but the only problem is the software updates.....will it get the 9.0 update????

  • Any news on Pie ui update on our S7 in India?

  • Yes, i did it 22 april 2019

  • should i buy this in 2019?

  • Awful for pubg it have lag and low fps from low graphics

  • Exynos is the international version. Maybe it is better version, because it lacks overheating, comparing with Snapdragon

  • Which one is better Snapdragon or Exynos?

  • I have nokia 6.1 plus, my czn has s7. We play pubg, my nokia has doubled battery life and smooth performance on pubg. We both play on lowest graphics settings or sometime moderate settings.

  • It's not coming sadly. You would have to root your device and install a ROM. The oldest Galaxy S device that is getting Android 9 is the S8

  • Not going to get pie update

  • Any news on Pie update on S7 ???

  • No

  • did it support face unlock ever

  • Not even monthly security updates any more. I’ ve been using s7 for the past 3 years and it is one excellent device but samsung fell down in thinking progressively and started to produce dozens of flagships, midrangers and so on. From now on updating these phones will be even harder. Not worth buying samsung, lg or chinese brands. They sell you products for an year till the next “super” divice will be born! Pathetic..

  • Security patches are generally small, In India its 91mb

  • I have seen it outperform on the max pro M1, the redmi note 5 pro, both of these run PUBG with lot ease, there are hardly any stutters or framedrops...

  • bulgaria March security patch arrived. Size 65 MB why it is too small ?

  • no it wouldn't

  • hope that will repair not working email synch.

  • March security patch arrived. Size 91.11 MB.

  • Bad for PUBG, lags and stutters a lot, any SD 636 would outperform this...

  • May be due to difference in wifi bandwidth

  • this phone is good for PUBG?? HE is better than A50??

  • I updated my s7, but i keep getting updates after updates and its very annoying. Pls can anyone help me iut with an alternative, bcus samsung is beginning to drivw me nuts with thier constant problem and worse battery life

  • First of all, iphone 6s doesn't have OIS, so in still photos S7s shutter speed can go much lower than the iphone, which results in less noise and better lighting in the photos, and I have checked this side by side with my S7 and 6s... And yup, iphones are always good in terms of video, if you want more from the S7 then download the google camera...

  • Thank you very much.

  • Depends which system you prefer more android or ios, both phones are great. Except that iphone has worse battery life, if you are going for an iphone go for plus model.

  • Maybe because of the background apps you use more while at home

  • Hello all. Please recommend me which phone to buy Galaxy S 7 or iphone 6 s. Thank you in advance.

  • great phone except for the battery life, I've heard that android 8.0 is the cause of that, which i can neither confirm nor deny since I got mine used after the update was already on it, but, like I said, other than that it is a great phone and it's plenty fast. was a great upgrade from my old Galaxy Alpha

  • No change, same consumption from Nougat. Can anybody explain why on wifi at job I have 0.8% per hour, at home on wifi it is 1.8% per hour, both standby laying on desk with all signals full.

  • Please anyone with february update, is battery life fixed?

  • i agree my s7 battery drains way too fast :( hoping the battery life gets better

  • Did the phone support face unlock ever

  • Not gonna happen!!! They only provide 2 year support for OS upgrades and 3 years or maybe more on Security Updates.

  • this phone Galaxy S7 is not made a Android oreo very fast drain battery last good is Android nougat i hope this year Samsung Update galaxy s7 to Android pie

  • I think its something about battery saving

  • Now I have February update too, but I don't recommend. Email notifications stop working and others have notification problems too...

  • You can update it via odin.

  • I update security patch february 2019 and I sometimes don't receive notifications from whatsapp snapchat.. Can someone help me with this? Thanks. My phone is SM-G930F

  • I am using s7 and iphone 6s, the camera doesnt even comparable to iphone 6s. While shooting slow motion s7 keeps blinking all the time. Or may be my s7 has some issue. Anyway I felt iphone cameras are much superior to other phones. But they have network issue all the time. Can we improve the camera on s7

  • idk also there is update after update whats up with that?

  • System hang with high capacity memory cards often the culprit is the fake memory card. You may have bought a fake card unknowingly. Your memory card may say 256GB but is really only 2, 4, or 8GB.

  • Hi, anybody else with Samsung E-mail non synchronising after February update?

  • no :(

  • does the 8.0 oreo update support face unlock

  • Still on December...

  • February security update done ✅

  • How much did it cost?

  • In accordance to performance, there are much better phones in the market, but camera is still on par with phones ranging upto 30k...

  • How to install custom rom

  • same i can agree

  • is anyone use the 256gb memory card in s7??? if use how it is. any hang issue with 256 gb memory card???

  • I am also using an second hand Galaxy S7 ,it is still fast in 2019

  • Excellent phone, I would recommend even in 2019. as second hand phone. Fast and reliable. Camera is awesome even for 2019 standards

  • Loved this phone! Not only coz its compact, it has "flat" screen and not that ugly curved edge screen w/c i avoid for obvious reasons.

  • If you stop useless apps running in the background the battery lasts all day and night, disable all the google crap especially

  • Problem with display was only on S7 edge. "Normal" S7 is fine, without this issue.

  • Hi - I to was make inquiries about the S7's "Pink Line" issues on the net and checked here too as for "Feedback". Yes All S7's have showed this problem. Unknown if its been a "Batch Issue" or a "Series" issue. From what Ive found, some believe that it can be corrected via "Admin" colour combination keys. Others believe is the "Pixel" generator chip?? some say it may also occur after a drop to the ground with sufficient impact to start it! Take you pick! The line does seem to be very consistent in location on the RH side near the Signal strength area. Here in NZ many have been imported by the looks from "Trade ins" business and some have this problem already and sell for around $200nzd. "Everything still works, just the display issue". Warranty Claims under investigation are also a concern from Samsung for this same issue!! :( I've also seen the S6 have the same problem.

  • This phone have a powerfull camera, i buy on november 2018 and after oreo update the battery drain fast... But if you back to Android 7 or update to a custom droid 9 rom the battery life gonna be very good (iam using pixel experience rom 11 hrs, 5hrs acreen time) So for me the only problem is the oreo version not being very friendly to use. If tou wanna buy a powerfull camera don't waste your time S7 is the PHONE

  • i got the screen replaced. Thanks

  • Can you be a little more specific? What was you doing prior to the screen going black? Is the screen cracked/smashed? Is it a hardware or software problem?

  • Guys my phone screen gone complete black. cant see anything. What are the options other than screen replacement. Regards NK

  • Battery drains quickly

  • Do not buy, battery drains too fast also 32 GB is a weak point. You cant insert memory card if two sims are in side it

  • Oreo is cool on my samsung s7 you can give it a shot eith er

  • Hello friends . I need an information please .. what is the current situation with S7 's new update battery draining problem ? And after the new update how long does it take to die ? I'm not S7 user but thinking to buy it .. kinda a low budget ..😂

  • Spoke too soon, battery is draining much quicker now.

  • On Android 7.0, set to FHD and "Always on Display" turned off the battery life is good.

  • After the recent update which came 2 days ago, I feel the battery backup had reduced... Anyone feeling the same?

  • Keeping in mind the track record of Samsung, it won't get pie... It got oreo after the launch of pie... But you can always try custom ROM, if you are into that thingy...

  • If it got Android Pie id get one, but its getting old now 2016

  • Don't know about microphone but yes the earpiece is certainly louder... I don't know if it is only with the premium flagships but the oneplus 3 also had average earpiece..

  • Yup there are some compromises, the build isn't something that would look good when it gets old... But the software is certainly better, plus its going to get the andriod pie and maybe even the future version... The software is going to be stock andriod and stock andriod with asus's optimizations will I must say million times better than Samsung experience... Maybe it would not be as feature rich but what I have experienced playing pubg on my S7 is very disappointing...

  • I own one bro... And yes, 2.5 hours is slow... It should take maximum 1hr 30 min even if it is completely discharged

  • Build quality won't be as good though, or the software either since it's Asus. Biggest problem with budget phones is when they're used a phone I think, often have poor microphones and speakers so call quality is not great.

  • It's a 2016 phone and doesn't have USB-C.

  • 2.5 hours is very slow... My phone charges from 10-100% in just an hour...

  • But i updated the phone 2 months ago and there was no such issue. Maye be the jan update will solve this issue.right now i am using standard charging and the phone is charging in 2.5 hrs ( normal time) and i am also getting the more battery life

  • Update , there's no problems .

  • The same problem with my c5 pro after last security update problem with fast charging it charge fast till 95% and from 95% to 100 % it takes 20 minutes

  • No issues. U can update. After Oreo update phone has become much smoother.

  • Or don't update the OS, if it ain't broke don't fix it. This phone is fine on Android 7, remember it originally came with 6 so 8 is too much for it IMO.

  • This Device Battery Life Still Better Then My HTC 10............

  • My phone is taking more time to charge after 80% since 4 days.before that , it charges fast upto 95%. I changed the data cable and also reset the phone.but still no progress. Any idea why?

  • Is there a battery drain with oreo or not? I have s7 flat with nougat and i am afraid to update, the phone is just awesome and i don't want to ruin it. Some say it is ok and some say it is worse. Which to believe?

  • Turn off your device> press home, power key and volume up key together until you get samsung galaxy S7 written> then a dead andriod logo will appear for a few seconds> you will enter recovery> navigate through the volume up and down button and choose wipe cache partition> yes...

  • Turn Your Device Off Then Volume Up + Home + Power (Prompt Recovery Mode).

  • My phone is taking more time to charge after 80% since 4 days.before that , it charges fast upto 95%. I changed the data cable and also reset the phone.but still no progress. Any idea why?

  • How to clear the cache partition through recovery ??

  • There was some issue with the calibration, I cleared the cache partition through recovery and then it worked fine...

  • Hv u updated bcoz mine is working fine as it was b4.

  • DO NOT UPDATE... Made the fingerprint scanner terribly slow...

  • Got an system update of 76.17 MB. Security patch is still nov 2018. Says devices stability improvement and bug fixes. 🤞

  • Even I'm thinking about switching to the ZenFone

  • If only camera is your priority the s7 would make it for you, but I believe there are better phones in the market... If you want you can Look at the ZenFone max pro M2, its a total package...

  • Yes, honor magic 1.

  • Now that's your personal matter but I would like to explain you what to expect and what not to expect... Battery life will be good as compared to your S5, but not best in the market, expect NO major andriod updates and no updates at all after the the mid 2019... The day to day performance would be okay, but gaming performance is trash... The camera would be better than any phone upto 20k...

  • I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I bought in 2015. Im not super keen to change mobiles but Iknow technology changes as we speak. This S5 is now givingme problems of memory or battery. Now the battery does not last not even one day full but since I bought the phone back in 2015 I had never changed the battery. Also now when I press the keyboard to type a letter or a number it gets stuck and the information does nto display immediately. In addition now each time I turn on the phone soemthingn appears that says "The system process is not working do you want to proceed or not". Another issue is that I cant add now many apps as the phone probably will not hold them. In summary my siblings says it is irrelevant that I change the battery it is better to buy a new phone instead. My sister told me she was going to give me her mobile, because she bought a new one so she is going to give me the one she was using as hers was a little more advanced than my Samsung S5. Her is Samsung S7 So how is that phone the S7? Much better than the S5 in some features? How is the camera, memory and battery?

  • Are you talking about the honor magic 1?

  • should I buy this one S7 or Huawei p-20 lite or Honor Magic. Please guide

  • After November security updates I feel my phone is way better than before it's butter smooth now. The update was around 360MB I thought it was going to be oreo 8.1 but it wasn't anyway so far so good.

  • Pretty outdated bro... Buy only if its for camera...

  • I have/had the s5. It's a workhorse, awesomely crisp camera pics. Sturdy phone. Getting the s7 in a few days. Way cheaper than original release.

  • While reading text you can feel the difference between WQHD and HD... Also while playing PUBG I've felt that the midrangers are doing good, zenfone max pro, honor 8x, pubg is butter smooth on these devices, whereas on the S7 its very choppy, and this is on the lowest graphic setting and medium framrates, if I crank up the frame rate, the phone starts heating up crazily and there are render lags even at times... I don't know if its only with my phone, but somehow I don't feel that this should be the case, the exynos 8890 is still better than the 636, 660 or the kirin 710...

  • Change the screen to HD to save battery, 5.1 inches you don't need WQHD.

  • I'm still rocking my S5, thinking about upgrading to the S7.

  • Finally the November update is available...

  • Still rocking my s7, no problems at all

  • It depends on your CSC. Even European models depend on carriers with some CSC.

  • I have the global version of the S7 (G930F)... The updates don't depend on any carrier here... And yeah, I just read that samsung provides monthly updates to the S7, its just that we always get the monthly updates late, like as of now its December and the November update isn't there yet, so I guess that if the updates are delayed samsung just cancels them and provides the latest month's update... That's why I was confused because I don't remember updating my every month... Let's see when we get the November patch or maybe the December patch...

  • November update and all the other month's updates were released on a monthly basis. Contact your carrier because the S7 still gets monthly updates

  • Anyone using custom ROM?

  • Will my s7 get android pie? As I know that Samsung changed number of major update for mid range phone will be 2 but for the high end phone like s series or note series might be 3 major update... this is what I know

  • Can anyone help me . How to turn on caller id announcer.

  • this is the last Samsung i will own their price verses quality of use have taken a noise dive underneath all the bloat ware they force on the user i am going to experiment with Motorola and maybe even LG but Samsung has lost their edge.

  • i was always an samsung user and loved their quality design etc ... but after s4 my last phone i upgraded to the s7 i am really disapointed on samsung they started to copy apple and they get worse with their quality who ever are about to buy this or a newer phone i would sugest not to after buying this phone 2 days i started some antutu benchmarks (they were some heavy gpu bench) and the screen got a burn in pink transparent next day .... and this never happend in the older phones from samsung i dont recommend further product from samsung oh and btw the battery life is shitt samsung has one of the worse battery life ever who cares about their shity amoled "quality" u can see how many people have problems with their screens for me samsung DEAD ty i will go in future for Xiaomi :)

  • That's the andriod policy, samsung cannot do anything... Unless your mobile is not rooted, you cannot downgrade versions easily...

  • I updated to oreo too and for me battery is excellent. from 100 to 25% 5hrs on screen time.

  • Don't buy Samsung phones ! After you upgrade the OS you can't downgrade anymore ! They took the Apple style ! Sell your Samsung and buy something better !

  • i have s7 about 1 year. i updated to official Oreo version. And battery drains so fast.. i try to downgrade software to nougat or marshmello , but its impossible, because its new security patch.. 3000mh its no so small capacity, and i think with marshmello battery enought for more time..i think its a last samsung for me..

  • no i have november security update iam sure 100000%

  • I don't think the November update is even in development for the S7, it got the October update and S7 now only gets bimonthly security update...

  • install lineage os 16 from xda (ivan_meler) or official LOS 14.1 from lineageos.org

  • hey.any one have freezing and reboot after november security update?

  • Battery on Oreo is better. At least in my case. Update your phone.

  • Thinking of buying a new phone next month and since i prefer flagship specs i tend to wait for flagship phones prices drop. So is this still a great buy cause i just saw a place where i can get one for about $250..

  • Some people suggest clearing the cache partition, but this may only be a temporary solution.

  • So after so much research I bought this phone slightly used but I am facing the battery drainage problems. I did a factory reset and still battery drains fast. I am on Android 7.0 after reset but skeptical about updating. is there any way to improve this? I have 930 FD Version.

  • this was the best phone I have ever had period...Does the S9 or S9+ have a hide place like how the S7 has?

  • Xiaomi Mi 8 a better buy than this phone now? Bigger screen, longer battery life, better camera or at least as good.

  • You can get a Note 5 or a A9 phone (2016, Pro 2016 or 2018). I personally think a flat S7 Refresh and a flat S10 with noncurved corners, metal body and no notch of any kind with high specs would sell like hotcakes

  • I'd like a 5.5 inch screen, hard to go down in size, Edge version is that size but don't like curved screen personally.

  • Bought this 2 weeks ago on november security patch as of yesterday

  • Have a look at the ZenFones, redmis and honors...

  • No... Not at all

  • After the latest October security patch update I am finding the battery life has got worst drastically. Is anyone having similar issues? From India.

  • In half an hour

  • Right now I'm keeping my phone on charge... Its 23% as of now, I'll post a pic about how much it would get charged in half an hour... But I completely agree to this guy's point... There are much better phones in the market, buy the S7 if your only priority is camera...

  • These are my battery usage stats... If I use it further, it would last an hour more before being 10%... It would charge from 10% to 70% in about 40 minutes or maybe earlier... I usually don't calculate these timings, whenever I'm not using the phone, I keep it on charge...

  • Huawei P10 vs S7?

  • Sot is never a true measurement of battery backup as everyone's using their ph differently. If you binge watch videos on wifi or mobile data you will get 5 or 5.30hr sot max. If you use your phone casually you will get sot of 4.30 to 5hr but your ph will run typical 9am-9pm easily. Samsung s7 is now pretty old phone and I would suggest you to look elsewhere if camera isn't your primary priority.

  • Huawei P10 vs S7?

  • Can you tell me how much SOT do you usually get on an average day? And how long does the charging take? (I almost never let it go below 10%) my budget is 200 eur

  • There is no such app, but feel free to use this image for the test: Download and transfer to the S7. As for the warranty, it is covered, at least in my region. I am not in Europe si I am not sure it does in your case. Contact Samsung about it (say the screen has a persistent red tint in some areas)

  • That sounds good to me, any improvement on SOT is good. I am aware that S7 battery life could never match A2 Lite, but honestly, A2 Lite has even too much battery life. I guess I overcompensated from HTC M9 :) Well, I guess I will get EU Exynos version since I will buy it locally, not online. Most of them (in my budget) are out of warranty but I will look out for one that still has it, although I can hardly believe I could get the screen replaced under warranty just for burn in, considering I live in Croatia... :) I looked up a few apps but cant find the one you are talking about.. or did you mean that I make an image myself and then send it over BT to S7?

  • I haven't used it right from marshmallow but switching from nougat to oreo bought a huge stablity to the phone which was lacking with nougat... Battery backup also increased slightly... According to my usage pattern ( lots of YT videos, browsing, social media ) it hardly makes up to the evening... A little battery boost is always required in the evening and in some cases I even charged the phone twice a day... So, if you want a phone with good battery, just ignore the S7... Btw what's your budget?

  • I'm using 64gb card and it works fine

  • Do know that the S7 can't match the battery life of the A2 Lite. The Snapdragon 625 is very frugal (albeit less powerful) and the battery is quite bigger (4000mAh vs 3000mAh)

  • From my experience, Oreo has given my S7 a new breath. I got 20% higher SOT (Screen-On Time). You need to look for burn-ins. If the device is still on warranty, you'll be able to get the screen replaced for free, but this way you can talk down the price. Check the back panel for IMEI too (phones with non-genuine repairs do not have the IMEI written). Also avoid like plague the US branded models. Updates are terrible on them. Europe Exynos is the best (depends on the CSC, get back to me if you get this model), Canada Exynos is fair (timely but you miss the Mobile Data toggles because of carriers). Korean models get updates sporadically (ironic). So get a SM-G930F or W8 if you care for updates If you meant "what to look for to know if it's counterfeit", then check the Android version and try the AMOLED test, which is to display a full-black image with a small white spot. Cover the small white spot. If you see light bleed or any kind of light (do a close inspection), then it's not an AMOLED and the phone is fake. In doubt, do a benchmark with Geekbench. This should be quite fast on the real deal. Compare the scores you get with those: 1400 Single Core, 5000 multi-core. If the phone meets or exceeds those values, it's genuine. Or else, it's a knock-off

  • Well that was a quick reply, thank you! So basically it will be a huge upgrade whatever version I get, right. Well, buttery smooth operation is all I care about, I was just curious. What I am also interested is battery life. I came from HTC M9 (62h gsm arena endurance, which was a challenge lately, especially with degradation) to Mi A2 Lite (106h - awesome, although 2h+ charge time) but I see S7 has "only" 80h when new and I guess test was done on Marshmallow. Do you know how is battery life on Oreo compared to Marshmallow with moderate use (no gaming, mostly calls, Whatsapp, browsing and YT)? Also, maybe any suggestions what to look out for in used S7 (apart from obvious visual checks)?

  • It's at random unfortunately. Use AIDA64 to find out. Don't get me wrong, the IMX260 is still way ahead of midrange cameras. And no, it won't get 8.1. Actually there is no difference fon Samsung devices. 8.1 changes are minimal and are only noticeable or effective on AOSP-like phones. But Oreo on the S7 is a butter-smooth experience with a ton of features. You do still get monthly Android security updates, something LG can't even achieve on their G7 flagship (let alone the S7-gen G5 or even the G6 lol), or Huawei on their P20 flagships (or the P10, S8-gen), or Motorola on their 2016 flagship (S7 generation). For reference see this:

  • how do I know if it has ISOCELL sensor or Sony IMX when buying used S7?? I am planning to switch from Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite to S7 mainly because of the camera. Unfortunately I will have to sacrifice amazing battery life and Android updates but it should be worth it for a good sample of S7 with awesome camera. Also, do you know if S7 will get Android 8.1 or is it stuck on 8.0?

  • Can it use a 64gb card without it freeze

  • yes it is. camera is so great! but dont expect long life battery

  • Definitely. This phone is more powerful than most midrange and low-end models. And it is a premium package too: Wireless charging (Ahem 1+), 3.5mm headphone jack (Ahem *everyone*), QHD Super AMOLED (Even 1+ is stuck at FHD), Dual Pixel PDAF 12MP 4K camera that still makes awesome pictures (if you have the ISOCELL sensor, the Sony IMX is noticeably worse, having used both), Android Oreo with jam-packed Experience 9 UI, monthly security updates, premium GG4 build, Fingerprint scanner where it should be... What else is there to ask?

  • I've seen a lot of videos recently about this phone and it seems like a great deal if you can get it cheap and unused.

  • Is it worthwhile to buy this phone now? A box packed unit is available for quite cheap rate.

  • Oct 18 security patch arrived in India.

  • S7, better processor, better camera... X4, good for nothing...

  • Hands down the S7...

  • Moto X4 or Galaxy S7? getting both of em for about the same price.. (refurbished)

  • I exactly agree with u. Manufacturer r forcing people to hold an elephant sized phone all the day in their hand which isn't pocketable. That's how they can advertise their Branding & people drops & breaks the phone frequently and customers have to buy another new phone. For this reason they don't provide a removable battery as well. I also don't wanna use a phone larger than 140mm night & 70mm width.

  • ooh same to me, i feel much differences from my old galaxy s5

  • very good phone...

  • i have purchased phone 01/11/2018 its just amazing......

  • I never turn on power saving as it reduces CPU performance, my phone is usually on all day, except for some times... But I've used all of my phones the same way and I feel that the S7's battery is average... If it was a little big, for eg 3400mah, it would be excellent....

  • I saw that it will be converted to dual sim via software update. can anyone know how to do it?

  • check your fone see what eats the battery, the worst is facebook. See power saving is on. The battery is 3000 which in normal use lasts a day.

  • I believe that 5.5in is a ideal screen size, but what phone manufacturers did that, they cramped 18:9 ratio screen in the same 5.5in screen body, the screen became 6.2in which is way above the normal screen size... If a phone came with a 5.5in 18:9 screen, that would be great...

  • I have bought the phone in April, the camera is amazing! I love this phone!

  • I know. This is pretty bad for me. The phones are getting bigger and bigger, you need a bag for the phone only. You can't hold it easily with one hand. Most of the smaller screen sized phones, do not have good specs, they are slow and have overheat issues. I would like also the battery to be removable but nowdays you can rarely find a phone with removable battery. I wish I could buy a new samsung galaxy s5, but it's gone.

  • Bro sadly there is no future of 5in screens... Today with the 18:9 screen ratio, there are no smartphones left with 5in screens...

  • I agree with you. I would like to buy oneplus but I want a screen size around 5 inch. So s7 is the only option I see.

  • Hi, Even i am facing the same problem...Frequently my mobile cannot receive the signals....I have android version 7. Can upgrading or downgrading will solve this problem

  • You are absolutely right.. phone is a personal product.. it's all about personal preferances..my s7 used to force close a lot more than my HTC. After oreo it stopped. Still a number of times s7 just hangs for a moment. Still I like this phone because it provides so many more than others.

  • Yo! I'm planing to buy this phone. Coming from a 4yo S5. (Still the best optimum phone in existence btw) Is the Oreo charge deplation problems still exists? Or is it solved?

  • never do this..!!

  • Do I have to do that every time or just once

  • Samsung also has some google app counterparts ( purely bloatwares), like the email app, galaxy app store, samsung internet, smart things etc etc, I don't think so anyone uses these apps... And the worst part is, they can neither be uninstalled nor disabled...

  • Its more like what a person needs in his smartphone... HTC sense and oxygen OS are a bit different in terms of features, HTC has no additional features, but oneplus has some gestures, inbuilt applock, the side tray which are very useful ( atleast for me)... The secure folder, samsung pay, I never use them... Anyways cheers...

  • i do not know what happened to my S7. it shows EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY,after i upgraded to Android 7 last January..until now October is still like that, I can not use it..what is the best thing to do? pls help me..thanks

  • Yeah I agree with occasional hiccups and few niggles are present. But I have come from a HTC which was almost stock like oneplus, I loved stock experience but now I can't live without samsung experience. You have almost everything and more baked in the OS itself no need to download apps for trivial matters. Samsung pay, secure folder are cherry on the top. Yeah galaxy flagships costs a lot and updates are slow but if you compare one plus is just a smartphone with a blank slate and samsung is a experience. So its up to the person. I will upgrade to note 9 for the battery and screen when the price drops a bit. S7 will still serve my need for 2 more good years.

  • Its more like, it didn't meet up to my expectations... I came from the oneplus 3 and I expected improvement in the camera deptt... But the difference was very little... And then, I kind of, do not like Samsung's UI and their policies so I was not that satisfied with this phone... Oreo is running good and optimized well, its just that samsung phones aren't my type... I would lean towards oneplus for any smartphone I will buy after the S7

  • You are talking like now it's not good? Did you updated it to 8.0?

  • My device came with nougat... It was just fine...

  • Yes, I noticed that on youtube. Many this year videos unboxing s7 show that s7 have Nougat. Does this decrease its perfomance, battery? or it's a stable version?

  • New S7 comes with nougat installed out of the box... The original firmware with which it was launched was marshmallow

  • thanks..because usually updates slow down the phone and decrease battery lasting.

  • Yes i can make a review on s7

  • Can anyone with a new s7 without updating it , make a review?

  • Great phone long lasting battery great photos

  • New update available in india Security patch level: 1 September 2018 Update size: 94.25 Mb

  • galaxy heat up really hot for my liking

  • Iphone 7 at least. SE too old. If you want to stick with android than oneplus 6. Samsung is still as slow as before despite new software. I'm using s8 and I'm still not please with the performance.

  • Iphone SE

  • samsung s7 or iphone se

  • AOD = Always On Display

  • When the battery is 5% put the phone in safe mode then w8 till drain completely, then charge the phone full, but dont turn on. Charge the phone until it reaches 100%. When is 100% you can use . Try that

  • Give it a hard reset. Also tweak the power saving mode, background app usage and all and start using ur device. Clearing RAM helps with apps draining battery post usage. Phone should take a day or two atmost to learn the usage patterns and settle with the life cycle and you are good to go. Else try service centre, although i suggest to wait for a few battery cycles before that.

  • That's not a problem man... As the phone ages, battery's charge holding capacity also degrades... Instead of popping a new battery in, there's not much you can do about it... Or just carry a powerbank, that will be a much better option...

  • Connect to your phone a car battery.you need a laptop not a smartphone.i work my s7 for 2 days without charge

  • Battery life is deteriorating rapidly, 10months ago I could use my s7 with 2 charges a day with my usage. Now I have to charge atleast 3 or 3.5 times. that's a problem.

  • Your Nokia 230 doesn't use andriod

  • ... or battery saving mode, then gave it a full charge. The battery was losing 20% of it's charge ever 12 hours, until it died 56 hours later. That's 2.5 days with no calls, texts, emails, notifications, etc. nothing, the only usage during this time was turning the screen on for about 3 seconds every 12 hours to check how much charge is left in the battery. Is this normal? During the same time, my Nokia 230 with just 1200 mAh battery went down to only 70%

  • Bought a brand new S7 a few days ago, put my SIM card in, adjusted a few settings, setup mail, downloaded a few updates that popped up, then turned EVERYTHING off, i.e. WiFi, Bluetooth, all background apps, but did not put in in flight mode or battery saving mode, then gave it a full charge.

  • Every evening a topup when used moderately

  • S7 if your focus is on the processor, the SD 820 would easily beat the SD660... But if your focus is on the bokeh effect, 18:9 and stock andriod, then the A2 is better... Or if you want the best of the two worlds then hands down the xiaomi poco F1...

  • S7 or Mi A2?

  • That depends of what kind of user are you. a little youtube, a little viber, whatsapp, a little browsing and calling and you get one day. nothing more. i'm talking about exynos version

  • What about the battery life of s7??

  • Always on display

  • Depends on which generation of A8 you are getting. But in general, the Galaxy S7 is still a very capable phone, even in 2018.

  • Hi, I need to choose between Samsung Galaxy A8 si S7... any thoughts? Thank you!

  • 6s plus... Main reason is that it would be supported for longer... Good cameras, the S7...

  • none..at least get an Iphone 7. If you are really tight on budget go for Iphone 6s plus for much better support. s7 will not get any other software update, if you are okay with that s7 is a better phone then.

  • Samsung bc it has more RAM (+2GB) and stronger battery Better screen resolution, stronger core, wireless chargeing SD card slot that iphone 6s plus doesn't have and its cheaper Only thing that iphone 6s plus has better than Samsung s7 is bigger screen Hope this helps

  • Hi, S7 or Iphone 6s Plus and why? Please I need an advice. Thanks.

  • Mostly after upgrading to oreo, the battery life has increased... In only few cases it degraded...

  • AOD?

  • At first week in oreo it gave us illusion that the battery life is great but it is not after using for weeks and weeks. Having faced poor battery life in oreo and I didn't know what else to do but I accidentally turn off the AOD features and forgot to turn it back on and strange thing I noticed that on the day itself the battery life has significantly improved and you can feel it. Yes I misses the AOD features for quick view time, missed call alerts, msg etc but I'm okay with that coz battery has improved a lots. For notications LED light works still.

  • Just got my S7 for $200 (with a brand new battery in it), and I love it! I kept it on Nougat after hearing the battery life horror stories and it seems to be doing fine (though the update notification is annoying). But I adore the low light performance. I can't believe I considered other phones. Last night I was able to capture stars as well as I could see them myself. (Sure, it was mounted on a stand and it took 10 sec per image, but come on, it can take pictures of stars in the sky!) Also, as a lefty, I have no issues with heat. And even if I hold the right side, I'm glad the metal acts as a heatsink. I prefer a warm hand to a cooked SoC. (Especially because my Nexus 4 had its SoC insulated by the plastic back, so when I felt heat anyway, I knew it was way too hot. And the touchscreen flex cable was glued to it, which killed one of the screens I had.)

  • Actually you can... There's an app called 4g only network mode, available on the play store, you can select between a variety of network modes which include 2g, 3g and CDMA too... Works quite well...

  • yes its compatible but the probleme you can't choose between 2g ntetwork or 3g or 4g its switched automatically, thats all.

  • What about it? Follow what you are advised..its a smartphone..clearly smarter than you.half the world updated over samsung switch as prompted.. that's the only way. Do it..works fine

  • What about the Oreo Update for G930D dual Sim ? When I update it via wifi it says that your OS is compromised, download via samsung switch.

  • Just check the front cam if its clone thn the selfie cam wl b blur

  • Battery after upgrading to oreo is very bad Anyone like me???

  • How to distinguish an original S7? How can I reboot the unit safely? I am planning to buy a second hand S7..

  • S7

  • Oreo crap ugly design!!! wait for Pie!!

  • The networks work normally, but the problem with sharit application does not work as i heard same module

  • i am in ALGERIA and i like the galaxy s7 so i encountered a chance to purchase it as a two year old flagshipin second hand , buti found a us t mobile gm 930 t model and i remark that its frequency band are different from the gm930 f international model , please inform me IS THIS MODEL COMPATIBLE with network 2G 3G 4G in my country algeria ??

  • yee buddy

  • Only if your only priority is a good camera and good display... Rest its not going to get the upcoming andriod version and battery life is also not that great...

  • Is s7 worth buying in 2018 cuz it's 2 year old phone and it has good specs

  • Who faces bugs after updating to Oreo?

  • S7 vs a8(2018) ??

  • Do a factory reset or take it to the service centre where they will reinstall the firmware. That should do the trick because oreo is the best version for s7 and you shouldn't be facing these issues

  • After upgrading to OREO, it seems kinda buggy, after you unlock it with fingerprint, it goes straight into one of the apps that you have on the home screen. Sometimes the alarm clock does not ring, made me be late at work, and sometimes it has a lag/delay in messages, when displaying and writing. It's bothering..

  • I have used ample of phones from various brands, the redmi note 3 which has a 4000mah battery, at first the battery life was very good, it used to last upto 1.5 days, but after about 8 months, it just used to last a complete day, the oneplus 3, earlier I used to charge it twice a day but after an year it became thrice a day... Whereas on the S7 its almost 11 months, but I still charge it thrice a day...

  • truee

  • S7!

  • S7 ofc

  • My friend's zenfone max pro M1 could play pubg with much more ease and much more frame rates than my phone can... Hell of an optimization by asus, shame on samsung...

  • Hope so. I see it on my device. 3 days after the update the percent of cell standby service is between 1-3%! Before that it was 16% . Think if u do not use your phone, how the battery drains with 16 % every hour just because of wrong service

  • Means we would see improvement in battery life?

  • After the july security patch update, cell standby service decreases its percent of battery usage from 16 to 1%! This OREO problem has been solved

  • The S7 is still a better phone than the A5 2017 model. Faster processor, more RAM, higher display resolution..

  • s7

  • July update just came in Bulgaria

  • s7, I guess. coz, the camera on s7 is best

  • A5(2017) or S7 ?? Help me to choose one🙂

  • P20 would not have counterparts of google apps but would be loaded with other features...

  • Thanks a lot. Till this year s5 was not too "problematic". That's why I am thinking about s7. If P20 (normal) goes without all the trash (like Samsung applications pr-installed), it could be an interesting experience.

  • There are various models of the P20... Lite, normal and pro... If you opt for the pro and the normal version it would more or less better than the S7... The lite version is not better... Anyways, just ask yourself that if you want to go with samsung again?

  • S7 better than P 20

  • In a recent news item Reuters reported that the Galaxy S7 devices (total 30 million nos. in use) are vulnerable to hacking & malicious attacks of MeltDown due to a loophole in the processor. It is not clear whether it is with Exonys or SD based chip. Earlier we thought it has a robust security and immune to crack the os specially designed by Samsung. Hope Samsung urgently release a patch to secure the S7 devices.

  • I really love s7 think you should go for that

  • Dissatisfied with s7 cam n u wanna go for iphone? Lol..good luck with that.i suggest a factory reset rather

  • Go ahead man... Samsung doesn't care for their customers...

  • You update Oreo .....in Samsung s7 edge ..camer perform good or bad sir

  • My camera is still bad in oreo thought they will fix it. Video is still fuzzy at night under bright light. Pictures are blurry. If oreo 8.0 is last update without fixing camera then Samsung, I'm getting iPhone and never looking back to Samsung.

  • Thanks alot.

  • Note 5 won't get oreo... Also S7 will have a better camera than note 5... Micro SD is not present... And for the price of note 5 you can get many other better phones

  • Guys, I am about to buy a new mobile (my S5 after 4 years is getting worse and worse each day) and I am thinking about either S7 or Huawei P20. Parameters are more or less similar but I haven’t used any Huawei so far. What is your recommendation and why? Thanks

  • Hey everyone, I need your advice, should I go for Note 5 or Samsung S7? Personally i like S7, but if there are some issues then I will go for Note 5. Kindly advice.

  • Sorry this month update is only security pach and camera improvements update. It's 432 mb update.

  • No.... S7 last update is 8.1 It's coming this month

  • Then you must have a clone one or something like that

  • hi friend my s7 sometime doesn't show estimated charge time.but When I remove the charger and enter it again .. the situation returns as it was and i show estimated charge time.any one have this issus i have android 7 stock rom.original charger.and the phone charge normally with fast charge

  • android pie 9.0 is here.can samsung s7 have it in the future?

  • I don't get those problems..for battery its better compare to nougat. Its worthy update..

  • Yes, its worth it

  • Just got a brand new samsung galaxy s7. I agree. The phone gets really hot sometimes, and battery drains really fast however at the same time the charging is very fast. I use a cheap 6$ charger and it literally takes around 1 hr 30 mins to completely charge. Like on average 1% charges in 1 minute. But The battery problem is when youre using the phone. On standby the phone can stay on for more than a day. But everything else is good. I like this phone.

  • I had and loved the G4, until the bootlloop issue started and LG wouldn't fix this design/engineering problem. They left thousands of us stranded when they should have issues a recall.

  • In 2018 S7/edge or LGG6

  • yes

  • it shoots 1080 120p video

  • Just got one and it wont update from android 6, and it wont connect to playstore when it does it says cant install not enough space

  • Not exactly

  • Does everybody face battery drain and fingerprint issues after Oreo update?

  • Want features and longer support, battery life, note 5 pro excellent camera, S7

  • yes mine too also it heats up pretty bad

  • After update to oreo my s7 finger sensor has become weak and lagging then earlier updates... Any1 facing same issues...

  • redmi note 5 pro or this guy.

  • Yeah... This could be the case...

  • Anyone having issues with their surround shot and virtual shot modes in stock cam? Seems the gyroscope calibration is getting messed up rotating 180° on its own when trying these modes. Same goes for playback of those videos. Issue started out of the blue sometime after oreo update..fone hasnt been dropped/no physical damage. hasnt been fixed by factory/hard reset either. Suggestions appreciated.

  • You know, that would require some testing but it is very possible that optimisation is not at fault there as much as company policy regarding battery charge measurement. Phones are rarely honest in this regard. As an example, some companies like to see their phones at 100% battery so it will display high battery percentage for a long time (which is actually not true) but after a certain threshold is reached, the battery percentage will fall incredibly quickly to the real values it should have been aproaching the entire time, whereas some other companies implement the opposite approach and the phone will drop quickly in the beginning but then it manages to stay an entire day at, let's say, around 30% which is again not an honest representation of the actual battery percentage. There are many such strategies for displaying battery percentage, so it's not entirely fair to just compare changes in numbers without considering this.

  • This phone is awesome! Fast, fast charging, beautiful display, sleek, water resistant! Oh my goodness! I love it

  • This phone isn't going to get Android P... The battery life is better from nougat but still not upto the mark

  • The battery life on the S7 is still not well optimized... Today while playing pubG, my friend has a ZUK Z2, his battery was at 25% and my battery was at 58%... After the gaming session he still had 13% left and mine was at 18%... That's a bad optimization from Samsung

  • What about battery life in Oreo is better than nougat or not? And should this phone get Android P or not is any official new from Samsung about other major update for this phone?

  • My 2 year old Galaxy S7 just started to invoke a feature involving a pop up lock icon attached to an incoming call requiring a double tap to dismiss it and resume with the call. It's a nuisance I can't be disable. Where did it come from? How did it get on my phone? How do I get rid of it? The Verizon tech says it's a virus. Geek Squad say these phones don't get viruses. It looks like an "ear-dial" prevention measure tied to the speaker phone? Help!

  • i got July security patch few days ago (Switzerland) no bugs just the battery draining a bit faster and heats up pretty qiuck when i play games

  • Note 5 be better

  • go to sammobile and dowload your firmware ... install it with odin

  • Without a second thought, update your S7 to Oreo. You'll thank me later.

  • Please give feedback about Oreo update. Should we update to Oreo?

  • Unfortunately, the fully charged battery suffices for 1 - 2 days of careful usage. This is silly considering its capacity.

  • To those without Oreo update, be sure that: 1) Your android firmware is official release, unaltered by 3rd party. 2) Your Knox count was never triggered above 0, not even once. 3) You are currently updated to the latest Nougat for your region. This is a requirement before Oreo update prompt will show. (Just update to all the update prompts in your phone)

  • My s7 updated with oreo

  • If I were you, I wouldn't buy both

  • Galaxy note 5 vs htc 10 which is better?????

  • i'm having same problem... there is not any update for my device s7... currently i'm in 7.0

  • I have myself a UK model and am using it in Pakistan. I have the same issue. No automatic or manual update for oreo.

  • Yeah, besides the little bugs here and there, oreo definitely outperforms nougat...

  • After Oreo Update, my S7 is performing like a beast. Very good update. No problem faced so far. Everything is running smoothly. Camera is very capable Samsung should've given a portrait mode option in the camera application in Oreo update. That would have been nice.

  • recieved oreo*

  • I rcvd oreio update should i go with that ?

  • I bought my S7 from Amazon USA which is an international version made in vietnam model no -G930f. This phone is of panama region but iam using this in india. So my problem is that i have not recieved any Official OREO update.i checked manually too in software settings too with no success. Will this panama region phone ever get an update??? Any useful info would be helpfull Thanks

  • Oreo is little buggy, If you restart your phone once in a day, it acts fine, otherwise i noticed many bugs. Like if i am listening to saavn and closed all apps, sometimes the song keeps playing although app is closed. I have to manually kill the app from settings. Youtube videos wont minimize within the app if i want to see comments, then i will have to restart the app which is cumbersome. this all may be app specific issue though. still all of these never happened in nougat.

  • Settings>software update>download updates manually

  • How to upgarde my mob software version

  • No, you can only unlock the device using fingerprint scanner...

  • How to get upgrade oreo for s7 please help me!!!!

  • How to get upgrade oreo to s7 please help me every one :(

  • No bro, its already turned off... Moreover the thing that I mentioned happens occasionally

  • Where you got Gcam. Not availble in play store. I m from india.

  • For unlocking thers a new option to move ur palm over sensors to wake up screen when locked..then use fingerprint to unlock. For locking u can set it to lock when screen goes off which can also be adjusted from 15s-10mins of screen timeout activity. No second button required to lock/unlock

  • Go to settings/ display/ status bar/ tick the radio off 'show only 3 recent notifications' if it is turned on. Let me know if that helps.

  • Whether screen unlock and lock using finger print button alone, without using physical buttons is possible on Samsung s7? (at least on new os updates)

  • Where is this setting?

  • Change your setting to show all new notifications from only recent notifications. You will see all notifications all the time.

  • Did anyone notice that the always on display is acting a finkly these days... Suppose if there are 3 YouTube notifications it shows only 2 on the always on display... Is this only me who os suffering this problem after the oreo update or there are others who are suffering the same?

  • I think only good will be android P

  • Oreo bad..nougat better

  • Don't see any difference. Visually a little bit different, otherwise same experience. Basically still great phone.

  • No problem whatsoever here.

  • I m using Google Camera stable version V8.3b v3.1.2

  • Setting HDR+ parameters: pixel stable (8/10/10) Config. HDR Camera : Pixel 2017 ZLS HDR+ HDR+ Auto Exposure Mod : stock camera2 api

  • How's the new Oreo update looking for everyone using the S7 Exynos version? Battery life, speed etc.

  • 380 Euros is a lot for this phone.

  • Yeah now it worked... Excited to try the portrait mode

  • Does it worth buying this phone in 2018? For around 380 euros?

  • Yes It's working fine

  • I too have the exynos... Maybe my phone's software has some glitch... It works fine with your phone?

  • Its working for my S7, exynos. Installed gcam 3.2. Opened it>give asked permission>go to setting> manual focus> enable portrait mode> then force close app> restart device. May it help coz wrkd for me. Gud luck.

  • I don't know I have S7 Exynos It's Working fine

  • Same problem bro... It just doesn't take a photo... Is it working on any other S7?

  • Download gcam V8.3b 3.2.1 stable version

  • Bro I tried it... I don't know if its just with my phone but whenever I capture a photo in portrait mode, the camera app just crashes... Few times it shows camera has stopped and few times it just doesn't take a photo...

  • Nothing can be done about him bro... Ignore him and let him live with his self made facts...

  • Download Google pixel cemara & enjoy portrait mode

  • Hahaha... You were right bro... He's back with another self made facts

  • Hands down the S7... The S7 is miles better than the A8, but you will miss on the bokeh effect

  • You're only proving my point. If you only charge at 40-80% every time, the 40-80% part of the battery are the only parts that are frequently HEAVILY used therefore "soring" (as you said) those parts of the battery.

  • Most of you cellphone users doesn't really know how to take care of your phone. You refuse to charge your phone 0-100% just because you insist on the theoretical assumption of 500 life cycles of the battery. FYI, it doesn't matter whether you charge 0-100% or 40-80% + 40-80% + 40-60%, they are just the same. They are counted both as 1 cycle. You refuse to charge your phones 0-100% even occasionally because you misinterpret what you read. Then you complain why your battery life suddenly drops a big % in just a few minutes? This is the answer. I've been using my S7 since launch date and its performance remains the same because I know how to use mine properly. For Samsung phones, I've gone through with Omnia, S1, S3, S5 and now S7 all for several years each without any drop in performance nor percentage count of each 1% because I know how to take care of them. If you argue with me, be honest with yourself first if you never had a battery problem EVER. I NEVER HAD ONE so I know what I am talking about. For reference you can research about Apple's statement: "You complete one charge cycle when you’ve used (discharged) an amount that equals 100% of your battery’s capacity — but not necessarily all from one charge. For instance, you might use 75% of your battery’s capacity one day, then recharge it fully overnight. If you use 25% the next day, you will have discharged a total of 100%, and the two days will add up to one charge cycle. It could take several days to complete a cycle. The capacity of any type of battery will diminish after a certain amount of recharging. With lithium-ion batteries, the capacity diminishes slightly with each complete charge cycle."

  • Your reply was stupid. It's not a concept. It's actual usage. Much better than your assumption that theories are all true. Read all what you previously read. They clearly say "THEORETICAL".

  • Now don't say that this YouTuber is also wrong

  • Consider a bike, the max speed of your bike can be 150kmph and the company claims that it can last for 3-5 years ( before it would need a rebuild)... Now if you ride the bike at 150kmph everyday, would it be able to last 3 years? No... If you use anything to its full potential then obviously it won't last long... Same is the case with batteries, if you discharge it completely then obviously the electrodes will get sore much quickly than it would on normal charging... Ps the example is only for explaining purpose...

  • What's the use... You still would come back with another pointless explaination based on your own concepts...

  • S7 or a8 2018 which one should i buy?

  • You better read what the post was replying to before you respond.

  • The life of the battery is anywhere between 500-1500 charging discharging cycles... Depends on various factors... 0-100% will obviously cause deterioration in the battery... Better google it rather ranting man...

  • You do know that those battery lifes are just theoretical, right? Actual count of 900+ charges is much more reliable than your theoretical "spoil your battery when you charge 0-100%"

  • haha That's why you're a frustrated owner, boy.

  • And those people complain about battery problems. It's common sense that if you only use certain parts regularly, those parts wear out faster. Just the same as a continuous drop of water breaks concrete, even stones.

  • Fine, then repeat the 0-100% several times... And spoil your battery... I think people who have researched know better than simply a phone app... Anyone experienced would never suggest you to do this... Anyways, good luck...

  • LoL I'm already at 959 charges and at 85% battery health shown by the app PhoneINFO as I'm a heavy user. And my estimated battery life shows 15hrs. And FYI. When your phone shuts down due to battery power, it still has battery power in it. Proof? You can still power the phone up, but just shuts down again because smartphones use more power. What they really mean as 0% is prolonged time on 0% without power. So technically, you need to charge up asap when it shuts down. But to avoid it, you can just charge up when 1-5% still remaining.

  • This phone has a really IP 68 protection. My phone was 2 hours in the sea at a depth of 3 meters and still works normally.

  • Charging to 100% and then discharging to 0% was used to calibrate nickel metal hydride battery... It has nothing to do with lithium ion battery in your phone... In fact it damages the charge holding capacity of your battery... If you still don't agree, then just try the same and note down the results before and after

  • Don't utter rubbish... Its a battery and not a water container... Google about it and get your facts right

  • Not really. You definitely should discharge the battery to 0% and recharge straight to 100%. Just like any water container needs to be fully drained frome time to time because dirt builds up at the bottom. I have had 3 hand-me-down phones from my sister that had bad battery life and needed to be charged frequently, I fixed them by doing this 0-100% cycle on every charge. From 12hr standby time, they became 40-6hrs. That was after 2-4 months of this charging method. I tell this trick to my friends when they had the same problem and all of them were happy of the results.

  • Leave bro... He has zero knowledge about phones is clear from the statement which he said that one should discharge the battery upto 0% and the phone doesn't heat up even with shooting videos... Its not worth discussing things with such people

  • Discharging till 0% is extremely bad for the battery health... Li-ion battery are only made to last 500, 0-100% cycles, discharging till 0% will have adverse effects on the battery... Clearing apps very often will cause the apps to reload again and again and hence using more power... The apps that are used regularly should remain in the multitasking tray...

  • Simple concept, higher the resolution, more the pixels to be pushed, therefore more load on the GPU and hence obviously more heating... Get your facts right man...

  • Why don't you stop ranting about each of my comment? I know it heats up so I'm saying... I don't know what skin you wear or you don't have the ability to feel or you slap yourself with a hot pan regularly, so you don't feel the heat...

  • Yeah..im also from one of the extremely hot..humid..dry arid states of IN n do outdoor works mostly from shooting to vids all day. 1of my pals in my team got s7E same wd him. Stop makin up imaginary issues..ur long term habit!

  • S7 is much better with oreo. Is smoother and battery last longer. Backup before, install oreo, factory data reset, and at last restore your data. I keep my screen resolution at FHD, it's no really so different from QHD, but the battery last more than a day with medium usage, and 2 days with light usage.

  • Depends upon the climatic conditions you're living in...

  • Reset and clear cache first. Then try to calibrate your phone. Charge 100% and use till it switches off...then charge it again without switching it on for ~8 hrs. Delete unnecessary apps or make them permanently sleep using options in device and management menu (It's same as greenery app). Don't do it for necessary apps as you won't get notification. Try to use vibration mode Lesser. With each notification it needs to vibrate. Make your network selection manual so that it won't hunt for network all the time. Bring down brightness .good for eyes and battery. Clear recent apps all the time. I am sure you will get more than 5 hours screen on time easily and that's the best for this phone with heavy users. With moderate you can get 6 hrs screen on time. (Estimated battery life is different than screen time ..I get around 13/14 hours on battery all the time.) Let me know if those helps.

  • If u r talking about screen resolution then no it doest. Neither in qhd display. But recording UHD videos for long tends to heat up.

  • The screen resolution... If kept on 1080p in summers generates fair amount of heat...

  • Highr resolution uses more processing power, even on desktop computers.

  • what do you mean 1080p would cause heat? just using it ?

  • Cell standby drains more battery after updating oreo what can i do for this problem in my s7

  • Heating issues depend on what type of climatic conditions you're living with... I live in India, and in the summers, 1080p would also cause lot of heating... But in winters, doesn't even heat to that extent even with 2k... Regarding the battery, well, someone who has been living under the sand only would ask this question

  • Does it have any oveheating issues? and is the battery ok? I mean this model came out before the exploding note 7 model

  • Some here. Workaround: Connect your S7 to your home Guest-WiFi - that helped me

  • Hello, after Oreo 8.0.0 update my phone have issues with Wifi signal. Anyone had same issues?

  • I just used my bluetooth fo the first time since upgrading to Oreo. Bluetooth is noticeably much faster now to transfer files to my pc than on my previous Nougat.

  • Hi James in Trinidad. Do what I did. I downloaded official android oreo from the web and installed it myself using odin. Be very careful to read all the instructions!

  • After some update to my Samsung galaxy s7 my phone acts up and wont charge

  • Still havent got oreo on Samsung S7 in Trinidad and Tobago......What to do...i Want Oreo....Please Help me

  • Its Data Saver. Disable it in Settings-Connections - Mobile Data- Data Saver I recommend next time that you ask for help in the Samsung Members app. You have more chance to get helped faster by Samsung employees and skilled persons.

  • My Oreo update estimated battery life is 14hrs & 55 mins. Actual heavy usage is ~6hrs.

  • I just updated my Nougat S7 to Oreo via OTA 2 days ago. The battery life improved greatly from ~4.5 hrs to ~6hrs. I've been using my S7 since launch date and updated to every rom updates via OTA. I never clean cache nor did a factory reset, not even from Marshmallow to Nougat, and now Nougat to Oreo.

  • i'll tell you what. go to vietnam, get the update and comeback.

  • Oreo is now available in Vietnam!

  • On Android Oreo, once you clear your notifications from the notification tray, they will also disappear from the App Icon. Which is why you dont see notification counts on your icons.

  • Is this the problem only with a given carrier or with every carrier?

  • I went to samsung service centre to fix Mic problem.they fixed that problem and They updated my mobile to oreo. I got a complete clean device from them. then onwards iam not getting good mobile data speed.

  • Samsung read this where is Oreo on Singapore s7????

  • Hi, anyone have issue with dual SIM, if I change from 2G to Auto on SIM1, it also changes SIM2 to Auto (no happend in Nougat). And there are too many services with denided battery optimization (possible to optimize in Nougat). I didn't make a hard reset only clear cache. Thanx

  • Maybe a hard reset would work... I updated to oreo but no data speed difference...

  • I don't have such issues after Oreo. I am getting speed as it was before on Nougat with mobile data as well as wi-fi.

  • Don't update your s7 to oreo. After the update, data is too slow. Barely getting download speed of 200 kbs. I double checked with another mobile I am having on same network( It peaks upto 1.5 mbps download speed)

  • It seems that some of you simply don't know how to update the phone. I had a custom rom on it and then I've done a clean install of Oreo with Odin. Battery life is excellent and everything is perfect with the phone. It's not possible to have the same phone model, the same update and to have problems if some other people don't have all those issues. The only possibility is incorrent update or some application in the background.

  • Absolutely, I still like my S7 alot.

  • Sadly Live broadcasting feature is now unavailable in the default camera app after Oreo. It was there in Nougat.

  • Hard reset with power, home and volume up button or through setting factory reset? Any difference between the two which one should I do and my battery is worst after oreo, cell standby is taking almost same as screen (screen 44% cell standby 39%) and camera is also not good both photo and video very disappointed..

  • is this phone still worth it at it's proce range?

  • Yes.. its a factory reset plus clearingg system cache

  • Try update the whatsapp. Try to clear apps cache. So all other apps work fine?

  • After Oreo update in India there is an icon appearing in notification bar which is somewhat like recycle icon within which internet up and down arrow marks.. After this appeared background data is not working... Please help

  • still, whatsapp notification not working...everything is checked correctly but still no go..

  • Or: Settings > Notifications > App Icon Badges If your App Icon Badges option was already on, scroll down and look through the list of "apps you want to receive notifications from".

  • Try this: go to settings -> apps -> 3 dots in upper right corner -> special access -> notification access -> samsung experience home -> switch on I hope it will work. Please give a feedback.

  • After installing oreo update notifications badges are not showing. Battery timing and speed has been improved And yes i have done factory reset twice atleast

  • This morning the update was released in Romania for S7 (i don't know about edge).

  • I just got the update this morning.Have you?

  • Oreo is now available in Romania!

  • Try a hard reset (complete wipe) and clear system cache. This is a must. You are on the very few people complaining, the big majority say it is very good Oreo. You can revert to Nougat only by flashing your phone with Odin. Search on sammobile for a compatible firmware. You can't go back officially. Or you can wait a future update to resolve the problems.

  • I don't like the new Oreo update that I did on my S7. the clock on the sleep screen is stupid. I would rather it look like a real digital clock. also the changes with the contacts are very confusing and it took me 2 hours to figure out were me groups contacts were located. Also battery life is not good since I did the update. Is there anyway I could go back to the last update??????????

  • Doing hard reset erase all phone contents or what?

  • They told me will be in the next period, but it is ridiculous, so many countries have received and Romania is the last one 😡

  • Guys give us a VS comparison, Oreo vs Nougat

  • After oreo update and hard reset phone just get buttery smooth and battery back up also increased. Thank you Samsung for support.

  • Still no sign of Oreo in Romania. What the hell Samsung?

  • Oreo 8.0 working fluently and flawlessly on S7. Great work Samsung

  • Go to home screen settings in Display and go to show app drawer option

  • Thanks so much from Samsung Co. for Updates. Samsung is the best.

  • Got oreo on my s7 in bulgaria. Finally.... Very smooth and fast! Stay another year with samsung

  • Idle battery drain got reduced at a great extent after the update... Also the charging times are now faster... But it charges very slow when you're using the phone, to my surprise, I was watching a movie while charging and the battery percent dropped... Anyways that's just nitpicking... It outperformed my expectations so I'm happy...

  • Hi I want to know the pros and cons post Oreo update by any Indian users on their Galaxy S7. Any major bugs is there nd what about the camera. Detailed reply awaited. Thanks..

  • There is secure folder on status bar..maybe its the same ass app lock.

  • Anyway to disable app drawer as I want to put some app there since swipe up or down take me to all my apps. App drawer is taking unnecessary place.

  • Battery life is gud. No rapid drain or anything buggy.

  • Guys how's battery usage if you update to oreo? And how's camera in oreo?

  • I'm unable to see the app lock in settings.. how did u access it? I'm from india. Updated to oreo a few days back.

  • Its strange. This is not only a nice feature bt also very important one. Its a must have feature for every smartphone now. Nice to see that samsung kept this in oreo bt don't know what's wrong with ur phone.

  • IDK... My S7 used to have that on nougat but after oreo it doesn't ask for any password

  • Yes I have. Its not asking for fingerprint or pattern to restart bt it requires it when power off the phone or switching the mobile data service or wi-fi.

  • You updated to oreo?

  • No app lock

  • Hi Everyeone. I have an S7 for work and use it daily. If you are considering Android - DO NOT GET THIS PHONE. I do not understand how Samsung can make an Android device that cost nearly twice as much as my other phones and have managed to MUNGE that Android experience to the point that phone feels like a different OS. The phone is running Android 7.0 and performance is great, the phone is pretty, and the screen is nice, battery life is good, and things run smooth. The finger print sensor is sub optimal, it works only about half the time. Its worse than on my phones that are 1/3 the prince of this thing. The phone dialer sucks. Voice mail is useless, Default Text App horrible. No App drawer, the Samsung Android Overlay is just awful from a feeling point of view. I would never spend the amount of money on this phone for the Status symbol of owning a SAMSUNG. I have 2 other Androids; I have an Honor 6X for personal use and use a Motorola G5 daily as well. I loath having to use the Samsung. These phone retial for $200 dollars US, where the Samsung is $600 or more. I do not see the extra $400 dollars in value in the Samsung. After using several more affordable phones I can not recommend the S7 over the other 2 phones mentioned. I would recommend buying a less expensive phone and spend the savings on a IPAD and am not an Apple Fan either. I hope this helps you evaluate your options for an Android device. If you choose the S7 I am sure you will be happy. But, you will be out an extra 400 dollars as well. AND if you are on a Contract even more. I do not do contracts.

  • Its still asking for fingerprint or pattern for switching off mobile data or to shutdown the phone. But ya it can be restart without unlocking.

  • Oreo users, please give feedback. How's oreo in s7 vs nougat?

  • I just download oreo on my s7 . I am from Serbia

  • Now u can set ur videos as wallpeps!! Oreo \m/

  • One thing I miss from the nougat firmware is that you could not switch off/on the phone and mobile data/wifi without unlocking the phone, this was a great security measure as if your phone would get stolen you could easily track it...

  • Same problem here

  • Call drops, call not connecting repeatedly, cross connections these are problems after jio's arrival and every network is facing it...

  • Try smart switch via PC. OTA got sm server congestion issues

  • I am having galaxy s7 and s9 in Kolkata and I use Vodafone network S9 got an update for Vodafone Volte but S7 has not I am still waiting for update.

  • Is it Jio problem or S7 Oreo problem?

  • Its common bro... After jio, the whole network system is disturbed...

  • Yes

  • Network automatically interrupted at the time of call... In jio network.. Indian galaxy s7... Is anybody face such issue?

  • Camera got really bad in nougat

  • It maybe the third party app you're using... Applock is not included I guess...

  • Yes there is improvement in the camera. Some features are also added. I can't compare it with Marsmallow coz my phone was came with nougat. Bt Oreo pushed more power and speed to the device. Battery is gud. Noted that i haven't formatted the phone. Although i think the auto brightness sensor needs some calibration. Let me know if any1 having issue with it?

  • Just got update oreo here in kuwait so far its good update. Camera its the same or maybe better. Smoothness better. But heat more i guess

  • No Oreo for my S7 so far (Romania). How is the phone running with Oreo? How is battery and performance? And camera? I know battery might be draining faster after the big update and than will be ok. Can someome confirm? Thanks

  • Whats the difference marshmallow camera compared to nougat?

  • How is the camera quality now in oreo? Is it back to like it was in Marshmallow? Nougat camera is very bad

  • any other way to update oreo other than smart switch. When will server problem is fix.

  • Everything is so far good now. Little warm to touch If multitasking but let's see. Only bug I can see is secure folder crashing frequently. I have cleared cache, data, still that's happening. Are others facing this too?

  • Applock is available under settings>accessibility. For issues like battery drain, heating, cam n other apps force closing a factory reset is recommended after update.

  • Just updated to oreo, little bit skeptical about the heating but performance has certainly improved... Apps open faster than they used to on nougat, but disappointed that samsung didn't provide applock... Anyways, will comment about the battery backup and heating after using it for few days..

  • My phone restarts itself every single day. Sometimes even 2 times per day. That started happening after 1 security update over Nougat. Still happening now with Oreo. Did hard reset multiple times - its not working. Funny how after the Oreo update it didnt restart itself for 4 days. Is that a hardware problem?

  • Good! Improve Little Battery Life!

  • I dnt notice any battery drain..jybe my device was new..in nougat i used to get 5hrs screen on time ..in oreo it qas 5hr 50 min

  • From 100 % to 74% for this past 3 hours with light use. Only whatsapp and update apps from goolge playstore.

  • It will eventually improve after a few more updates... That's how updates work with samsung... Btw can you predict how much the battery backup has degraded after the update?

  • Yeah... i think its a little warmer. 38°C when i see at CPUZ. And the battery seems drain fast than before. I dont know, maybe my battery already weak.. For now there is no big issue for me

  • S7 on Oreo is noticeably faster now than Nougat although there's still occasional stutters. It's really polished now. Overall, a great update.

  • A little bit of heating issue is found. Do u find any such problem on your device?

  • To all those ranting about late update..try comparing the handy features, smoothness etc with other brands now! Every lil detail has been addressed..updated. Patience is all it takes..thers a reason few have been supporting sammy regardless the super postponed update unlike the ignorant impatient children crying out loud, messing up the opinions section. Coz ppl kno wat google gives in droid P is already available in Sammy Oreo UI.

  • The UI really smooth. Better than Nougat. Opening apps faster now. Got Dual messenger in Advance Features. There is AOD tab now in samsung theme. Very much like the S8 Oreo for sure. No face recognition in Biometrics, only finger print. Overall the update boost the performance. Cant confirm about the battery life for now

  • Hmmmm... I quess we all should be patient. It will get update for sure.

  • Canada will be getting the update in a few days (June 11). What I'm most interested is how the camera quality is in Oreo. Nougat on the S7 doesn't have a too great camera quality and needs to be improved. Anyone who has the Oreo update please tell me how the quality is.

  • Downloaded via Smart Switch in Estonia (Baltic SEB CSC). Battery feels slightly better. Antutu score improved 160 674 points to 171664. Sling Shot Extreme Vulkan score jumped from 1409 to 2140 - I'm guessing this all contributes to overall smoothness. Seems like drivers have been improved.

  • Its a server related problem not mobile related. So its not working

  • It didn't work for me...

  • Till us whats is the performance after you upgrade

  • Try enable auto update system in Developer Option. Mine got server problem at first. Then i enable auto update system and try again and the update begins..

  • Just got an update to Oreo in Indonesia Dowloading now ... Lets see what it got ... :)

  • I want to update but I've confused that if I update to oreo my photos I mean private photos using calculator app will be gone or what?

  • Got Oreo for S7 today in Estonia.

  • Very fluid after Oreo. Will check battery later on but so far so gud. Updated through pc. No data loss ( better to have backup). Security Patch is of April. Dual messenger is awesome.

  • Yeah I can... But anyways I had to format it... And unfortunately my net connection sucks due to rains... So I'm thinking about visiting the service centre and getting the ROM flashed

  • Battery backup is good..infact idle battery drain is lesser than nougat..

  • Try smartswitch in pc.. i hve updated using that..

  • Yeah..

  • You are all lucky..you got update already..but we are here in Kuwait still waiting...will it come here as well?

  • Camera is back like Marshmallow?

  • Yup, same problem... Will be going to the service centre if they could flash and update it

  • Installed oreo update battery is good camera is back lyk marshmallow overall a good upgrade running smoothly as evere as a new phone

  • Samsung major updates always degrade the battery life... It will stablize after few updates in few months...

  • How is camera performance after oreo update..

  • What about heating?

  • Smart switch was showing the update, its 2.5gb on smart switch, but I didn't have a backup so right now I'm backing up my phone... Maybe tomorrow I will update it, until I hear something bad about the update...

  • It's a love or hate update. It's too soon to tell how is it. So far battery took a massive hit maybe because I installed all the apps again from scratch(you should do a clean install). Apart from few visual changes I can't see anything new. Yeah few useless stickers for kids in camera, overhaul in icons and settings, dpi is little higher so icons are little smaller now. Phone is not very smooth yet. Let's see what happens after 48hrs.

  • How's the mobile after update... I didn't update till now

  • You will have to use smart switch onto your PC and then proceed with the update, finally oreo released for Samsung galaxy s7 India

  • Download Smart Switch on your PC & connecte your mobile & update . My mobile update complete this method Sorry 4 bad English

  • Got the update in India but while trying to update it via phone it says server has reached download limits try later or by Smart switch, so tried it, now downloading update of 2.4gb

  • Same here bro. My phone also shows the same server error message

  • mine is also showing the same

  • Same problem

  • After oreo update, hw it is performs. Especially hw the camara performs. Pls anyone reply me.

  • Yes, I got the same message so I updates via smart manager. Haven't tried every feature but its working fine. I'll update you after seeing battery life and performance.

  • just download smart switch app in pc and then connect your phone to pc and update to oreo. enjoy.

  • +1

  • Please if any one update to oreo till us gamimg performance is it bevome more good

  • Has the oreo update started rolling out in India? My phone shows server has reached its daily download limit... Also do comment how is the performance after the update...

  • start oreo update in india

  • Guyzz check it out ..android oreo started rolling out in india.. (indian variants)

  • Leave bro, these comments are not meant to be replied...

  • One thing I noticed about S7 is that we can keep the WiFi hotspot and the WiFi on at the same time... I have never seen any other phone being able to do this...

  • And you people jump into conclusions before reading the actual conversation... The conversation was about the oreo update .. read the comments speaking bullshit

  • I actually regret now buying samsung s7. I bought it because i wanted a small phone, but now almost at that size or at a little bigger frame s8 or s9 is available and screen size difference is huge. I mostly use my phone to watch videos or studying article but now the screen feels too small.

  • Dont u know this kid knows everything? How dare u cross him? :P He will get back with pages of self satisfactory explanation as counter attack! Brace yourself ;)

  • Who said it doesn't support VoLTE in India? I have been using it since 8 months!

  • Yes, the edge version is better in both features and battery life but many users have reported a pink line on the screen with usage... Anyways that's not the point... If we talk about 2018 standards, the battery life is certainly not upto the mark...

  • Too Be Honest Edge Version Is Still Better Than This Flat Version, In Terms Of Feature & Battery Life. But Still This Flat Is Usable With Power Bank Around. After All Still Better Than S6 Battery Life.

  • The carrier I use has its tower 300 meters from my home... My college has the tower situated within 600 meters, so no question of network reception problems, also I use 4g single sim... My resolution is kept at 1080p, I do not recieve much calls so it doesn't matter what my notification sound settings are... I use 4g to stream YouTube, instagram, facebook, whatsapp etc... I keep switching between these applications... Whatever I do, I get only 3.5-4.5 hours of screen on time... I do not have much apps installed, but just basic apps that I require to get going...

  • All that depends on if you use lte or wifi, single sim or dual sim, 4G or both 3G, network reception, network search mode and other notification and sound tweaks. If I use single sim on 4G with network search to manual, 1080p resolution, no sound for notification (only for calls), completely on wifi, I can end my day which is 8am to 10pm easily with 25%+ to spare with medium to heavy usage till 4pm. I mainly use youtube, following stock market, few emails and sms, many calls and music listening. What I am trying convey is battery life completely depends on how you use and what you use. Always remember to close apps and clear recent tabs of what you dont use. Uninstall the apps you dont need or disable the apps thats cant be uninstalled like facebook and google suite.

  • Updating the new security patch causes absolutely no effect on battery life... A major andriod version upgrade does... Updating the phone is good, brands work on the phones to optimise various aspects like the performance, battery life and heating too, the provide the optimizations through a software update and it should be done...

  • Lol... 2 days and S7... Do you switch off your mobile after a text message? Or keep the extreme data saving mode active always? If I continuously chat for 3 hours then my battery deteriorates from 90% to 40%... Maximum the S7 can last ( if continuously used ) is 4-5 hours... That too on 1080p, if resolution is bumped up then it may be over in 3-3.5 hours... If not continuously used, then with very light usage it will last for maybe a full day with 25% to 30% remaining... That's it for the S7, not more than that...

  • What month security patch is it on?

  • thank you. You mean an s7 without any updates? Because when you update a phone (for securuty or version) usually it causes problems.. short battery life ..lags etc

  • If sms only it takes 2 days or more.

  • When oreo update will come to Indian galaxy s7?

  • Which android version is on it when you bought it? How long does it stay stand by? light use only sms

  • Can anyone who bought it recently tell me how long does it stay stand by? light use only messages sms Without any security or version update.. with the version it comes

  • Yesterday I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S7

  • No new features and nothing from the present models will be added...

  • Its the truth... Andriod P is not coming to this device by any means... Just a 3 month security update coming in the 4th month...

  • LG G6

  • who told U this?!

  • If these 3 are the only choices then S7 is good... But don't expect much support from samsung, as its in the end of its life cycle...

  • Which would be an overall better choice, S7 / Lg G6 / P10? Any thoughts & why?

  • The last security update S7 got was the march security patch in the.month of april...

  • Does this device receive monthly or quarterly security updates if any at all? Thanks :)

  • if so then samsung is just messing with galaxy owners to upgrade to s9/s9+ lol.

  • My CSC code i VIA,Germany O2U....I think that i will get oreo in next 7 days...I hope....Germany and germany vodafone is get oreo ...

  • Hell Europe has Vo-LTE too

  • In europe 930F is sold, which is the exynos variant... In India, the same variant is sold... Also do they require forever to bring just a volte support? Not justified...

  • because samsung flagships are not same worldwide. Snapdragon in west and exynos in east. Moreover few technical differences are there too like Indian version needs volte support which is not in the case of UK. Still I think this time samsung stretched it too far. They cant support S9/s9+ forever. Its like samsung is trying to force people to upgrade to newest. But one thing for sure I will next time go for samsung galaxy flagship only. Once a galaxy user always a galaxy user.

  • Its been forever since oreo has been launched, heck, the andriod P is on the way, isn't this way too long?... So, spending about 46k for a phone, and you still don't get the latest andriod version is okay for you, bro, that's the same case with midrangers, go get a midranger and you will be more than happy with it...

  • Because that's not how things should be... People here say, once a flagship always a flagship... So, is this how flagships should be treated? Hell no... It feels like a major betrayal when you have spent a huge amount of money on buying a phone and its just not upto the latest market standards... Almost all the 2016 flagships have the oreo update and samsung is still playing this age old region game... I really ask this question, why is it even necessary? I mean, I would have agreed if samsung needs to check the update for stabllity issues, so release the update in first region say korea and Germany and then a global rollout should take place... What's the sense of this region thing? If the update is stable then there should be a global rollout... Why to starve people for the update...

  • Same feeling bro...

  • To Be Honest, Why Can't You Just Wait For The Update To Ship To Your Device......... It Is Like As If You Can't Get The Update Forever........ Samsung Only Bad Habit Is Its Update, Otherwise Is Excellent...... As For Now (7.0) Nougat Looks Pretty Ok For Me, Until Oreo Step-In To My Region!!!

  • Never again on samsung! It is 2nd of june, no oreo in bulgaria and the security patch is feom march! Shame

  • What about camera?? Very bad in nougat.

  • Good To Hear!

  • Got the Oreo update 2 days ago in Germany. The phone is faster now. I get 4-5 hours of screen time. All apps work smoothly. Its much better than Nougat.

  • As expected...

  • ok not good... you need charges twice in a day..

  • How's the battery backup and the heating?

  • s7 is get oreo in France. I am update my device OTA

  • Till the date on update came to indian version

  • S7 vs s6 edge vs a8 2018 ?? aidez moi svp

  • As for Bugs look at release notes. as for Camera, Its a HUGE upgrade. Dont compare pixels, do a full review

  • any changes in camera ???

  • How's the performance? Any bugs?

  • Not exactly

  • now

  • Updated to Oreo 8.0.0. today North Europe !!

  • When to update the Oryo 8.0 on the S7 G930FD on the United Arab Emirates

  • Yeah, but when someone says the cable is broken, I guess he means its actually broken and he can physically see it and not the wires getting magically broken inside the cable... I also have my samsung cable broken lying around the corner and without x-ray vision, I can easily see it...

  • You will need to have x-ray vision to see inside that the wiring are breaking. Of course, the will need to test the usb cable first. It's easier if you have a cable tester with you when you claim the warranty, like I did.

  • Warranty doesn't include physical damages... If the cable would have been intact and would have stop working they would have replaced it...

  • Whr r u from

  • Samsung usb cable break easily. I used S1, S3, S5, and S7, all usb cable broke. Good thing they broke while still under the 6 months warranty for accessories.

  • I am using Samsung s7 which is buy almost 1 and half month ago. And I always charged phone with original charger.

  • Fast charging base on charger. Notif Fast charging appear.

  • Use a good usb cable. The wires inside the one you are using now is already breaking. The fast charging will show even if your charging is slow because your phone is charging higher than 5v. S7 is capable to charge at 5v-9v, which is called fast charging.

  • I just enabled the app from the play store and I can't find the option to add whatsapp and other apps... Just the samsung default apps are shown in the list...

  • Oreo Waiting To Taste It.................. Waiting Since Last Year -_______-"

  • That's how things work... That's the speed Samsung claimed fast charging will give you... It will charge fast after 60%...

  • Charging is very slow in Samsung s7. But display show fast charging when I connect samsung charger. Please suggest what can I do.

  • After formatting the battery is good?

  • Yes it's disabled in options. Go to settings ..search secure folder and enable it. Or go to play store and search secure folder and enable it from there. You can transfer all your personal app like gallery, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and more to it and best part you can install two apps at the same time. It hides notification and in recent apps tabs. If you want you can hide secure folder from quick toggle and all those apps will be hidden. Once you are used to it you will never go back to other non Samsung phone.

  • Got oreo update today. I would auggest, after update you must format it, battery drain easily if not.

  • Is it available in the Indian ROM?

  • Secure folder maybe for files... I want to hide my whatsapp chats, mails etc... Also, where is actually the secure folder located, I didn't find it...

  • Yeah you said correctly ...phones nowadays are smarter than people. That's a plus and short lifespan is a negative. About apps that's a plus about Samsung. You dont need app for anything necessary even app lock not needed we have secure folder.

  • 5th June

  • Yeah bro I know... But anyways if you're on the andriod platform, security or privacy just doesn't count... There are numerous apps which monitor your data even if they don't have the storage permission... Just search something on amazon or Flipkart you will have the same ads of them on every other app... Bro, its better to rely on stockish features than installing third party apps... Like applock is present by default on experience 9, as of now I have to use a third party app to fulfill the purpose... Bro, phones with symbian os were quite simple... Their basic purpose was just call, text, few photos, one or two games and apps and that's it... Now the phones are just not limited to all this... They have bucket load of features, which make our lives similar but at the cost of durablity... These smart features like AI require a combination of a lot of transistors, diodes, resistors, inductors and what not... Every generation the chipset is manufactured on diffrent architecture, some 28, some 14, some 10... All this effects on their reliability... One of the above element stops working or doesnt work effectively and efficiently, and the entire chipset is screwed...

  • When the oreo came to Indian version?

  • I don't get it why people fall for this marketing gimmick called update. Security update is very necessary other than that how many new software features each update get? Almost all of them are already available in Samsung for so long. It's high time people should focus on stability and bug free secure phone that lasts long. What most fails to understand with each update your phone is getting slower. I miss Symbian phones which lasts a decade and more. My Nokia n95 is still running like a champ. After that all my android phones are dead within 2/3 years or as good as dead.

  • Source ?

  • Galaxy S7 Oreo update out in South Korea As is usually the case, the update has been released for all the major carriers in South Korea. The build number is KLU1ERE8 and it includes the April 2018 security patch . The update should be able for download over the air through the Settings » Software update menu, and we also have the firmware available on our database (it may take some time for the firmware to be uploaded for each carrier). It shouldn’t be long before the update is released for the Galaxy S7 edge as well. Of course, we have our fingers crossed that Samsung will soon be releasing the Galaxy S7 Oreo update in other markets, though it’s best not to get your hopes up until the company actually starts doing that.

  • The current flagship gets the every security update... After a year or two they give like bimonthly updates... After 3yrs no security patch... And yeah, midrangers get only 1 major update... But they're midrangers, people have invested almost half or in some cases 1/4 the money as compared to a flagship...

  • Well, I switched from Oneplus X (their mid-range model) from the end of 2015. The only bigger update was Android 5 to 6. Last update was 1 year after launching the phone - no security patches, no bug fixes - although it was near pure Android, without bloat. But even with the flagships they don't commit to any promises even regarding security patches. Similar experience with Sony 2013 mid-ranger. That only got Android 4.1 -> 4.3 update.

  • 5th jun next date of android 8.0

  • So? Why do people buy flagships for? Definitely not for considering updates like midranges... Even the note 5 pro has started getting oreo... That's an insult to people's hard earned money... Okay, a small delay would have been considered but now the delay is just too much...

  • Yeah. We want os updates with new features. Every other brands have already given oreo update to their 2016 flagship.

  • That's what flagships are supposed to be... Please talk some sense dude...

  • Omg this cracked me up bad..rofl

  • love this device my bad.

  • Lol your outburst and cry looks like you buy flagships only to get OS updates. Ignorant children.

  • Never ever a god damn product from Samsung again... May it be smartphones, tv or anything with any deal....

  • I also will never buy samsung again

  • Seriously they are stretching it too far now.

  • Fourth week of may and still no sign of the oreo update to other regions... Going by this track record, in future people will just stop buying Samsung phones and the few percent that will buy will just be for the brand name...

  • Saves power and operates very fast

  • i am also thinking to buy s7 duos and i think s7 is better

  • Go for oneplus bro... If these are your only options, go for S7...

  • If You Go For Performance & Battery Life Without Saying S7!

  • hi everyone, I want your precious opinion which one should i buy s7 duos or mate 10 lite. please leave your remarks

  • Yes, most probably oreo update will be the last update for this phone... Also, only buy this phone if you like samsung phones, yeah the camera will be better than P20 lite but won't support portrait mode...

  • Samsung provides only 2 major updates to flagships... S6 already got 2 so the chances are very low

  • Only the unlocked UK model

  • When its update on oreo ???

  • Many people say that Samsung will stop updating this phone in 2 years or so. I want to know if that is true. And if someone could tell me if this phone is worth buying since there are many phones in the sam price range that have been released in 2018. Like, is it better to buy a Huawei P20 Lite?

  • Thank God I still have s6. And i'm not in mood to change it with any other phone. Because it has very good 16MP camera also. Hope we'll get android o on s6, but it does't matter though :-/ does it?

  • is samsung s7 upgradeable to android version 8.0???

  • Do you have snapdragon or exynos version?

  • Camera is great (even better then on oneplus 5t (especially in dark)), overall performance is great, you can play any games with no problems, and i think it may get even better with oreo.

  • Is this phone worth buying in 2018?

  • Yes i had same back when i was using the S7, it had lags even in CSR Racing 2 which is weird because on the S6 everything was smooth. The S7 is not for gaming to be honest...

  • phone gets so hot and battery is does not last for a day with data.. Mine got camera blur how do i fix it?

  • I'm playing PUBG MOBILE on my Galaxy S7 with graphics set to very low and frame rate medium. Although the game runs fine but there are occasions lags and frame drops and the battery drains 30-40 percent after an hour of gameplay. Anyone else noticing the same?

  • Major updates like this needs battery recalibration.

  • S7 & S7 Edge Oreo update has resumed. When is the launch date in India? How is the phone performing after the update? Did anyone notice any kind of degradation after the update? Some post a review for the curious users like me.

  • That's how Samsung updates work bro... Wait until you get a stable build

  • If I get a chance I surely will... Right now its out of my budget, lets see, as of now my eyes are on the oneplus 6...

  • I have recieved the S7 Edge Oreo update in the UK and the battery life has dropped from around 35% at bed time to now being at 5%. I have tried a factory reset and that did not fix anything.

  • I feel you bro, there is no doubt oneplus has one the fastest phones but not a complete package. Camera is good enough in s7 if you ask me. You should definitely try pixel 2 if you can. Best camera of 2017 or 2018.

  • I just went with samsung because I wanted the best camera on smartphones, that time S8 was the flagship and S8 and S7s camera didn't have much of a difference... I came from a oneplus 3, which was damn fast and just used to glide through the UI, and to my shock the camera was also not much of a improvement on the S7... From that day, it has just spoiled my taste for the S7... Also, I can bare with slow updates bro, but atleast there should be a update, I didn't know about the strategy of providing late update to last generation flagship to force them towards new ones, until someone on gsmarena told me... Sammy is just ripping out their customers...

  • Dude ... It's a rule of thumb always backup before any update...even the update pop up says so..is that Samsung's fault too if no one keeps a backup?? No I am not at all favouring Samsung on the contrary I have always opposed Samsung because of how bloated Sammy software was before s7/s7 edge. What you've gone through I will not disagree , touchwiz was a nightmare to live with. Even I had htc desire 820 sold it off because battery worn out. After owning s7 i just dont want to go back to any other oem because it suits my usage pattern may ne not for others.and lastly you are completely right about Sammy update strategy everyone knows that. But atleast they are the giving update and acknowledging their fault its a big deal. I will say always choose a brand that suits your need. If you want super fast update and stock experience Samsung is not for you. Go for pixel/android one/one plus route.

  • It shows how irresponsible samsung is with their updates... Those whose devices got struck in bootloop after the update would have lost their data... And pls bro, I'm not someone who has never used a samsung device in the past, the same was the case with grand 2, note 3 and even S6... I have used the note 3 and grand 2 myself and my friend had a S6, as soon as any update comes, battery life degrades tremendously, there are overheating issues and sometimes even camera quality degrades... Later on they give stablity updates and after that the performance improves, I still remember I had a grand 2 and it used to charge it 3-4 times a day to get going, I recieved the update in july and in November it got stablized and this was the same case with the other devices that I've mentioned... And I've used other brands too, I had a x play and there were issues after the update, same with htc desire 820 and oneplus 3, major updates are never perfect, so just stop favouring Samsung for every mistake... Yes the update is late and the reason is their marketing strategy to push people towards the latest phone...

  • Thumbs Up For Samsung! Use Since 2013............. 5 Years.................. Apple+Samsung Serious User!

  • Do you know what actually happened??? Some People's phone was stuck at bootloop after update and simple reset from recovery fixed that. For that simple issue Samsung halted the update so that other customers can have a seamless experience although hard reset is mandatory after such major update. It shows the level of commitment of samsung.

  • People said that samsung only releases the update when they are stable and that why it takes so long... The update is released in one region that too unstable... What's the use of waiting so long, when you can't even roll a stable update... They just want you to buy their latest flagship...

  • Hello. I'm planning to buy this phone this week. Is this device will get oreo update?

  • So? What's wrong with that? That's why Samsung halted so that they can fix and again resume update. It's not like Sony or others that once update is given they are not going to do anything.

  • Lol and some people here were saying that samsung takes time to release stable updates...

  • “Following a limited number of cases where Galaxy S7 devices have rebooted unexpectedly with the Android 8.0 Oreo, we have temporarily stopped the rollout of the update. We are investigating the issue internally to ensure that the impact to the affected devices is minimized and the rollout of the update can resume as quickly as possible.” - Samsung mobile

  • You can always replace the battery in service centre

  • wanting to upgrade s7 I have had since September but every phone that comes out is no better. New phones offer no better battery better camera and video recording in Nightclubs has been 9/10 with this I have tried a few other even iphone7,sony xz1 compact but S7 still does stunning job 2 years on. If it had replaceable battery would order one and keep this but battery is getting bit worse and I know it. So nothing has really come along better but obviously next year this battery will be shot.I can rarely find phones shooting in nightclub videos microphones most buckle under club bass. I wish GSMArena went too bass heavy club to test microphones in video recording. Iphone, Sony and recent Samsung not bad but what about Huawei,Nokias new ones motoroloas and so on. Moto/Nokia doing stock android but no good to me if mikes are rubbish .

  • Samsung temporarily halts rollout of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge Oreo update due to some device reboot suddenly. So wait wait and wait for oreo...

  • Awaiting For Update To Oreo............

  • HTC U11

  • Lol, the p20 LITE is not as powerful as s7...

  • Now mine is dead just used it for 1yr and 11 months. Not used heavily because I am not a gamer. Dropped it in some times but not that hard. And now I am so happy with my huawei p20 lite. I can really compare the difference in performance.

  • Go for the oneplus 6... Within a week its going to launch...

  • Fairly true

  • Which one would be worthy upgrade from S7 to S8 or Honor 10 or HTC 11 Priorities:Camera,Battery Life,Performance Overall Better Value for money

  • That's how this companies works, that's how technology works. Always new things around the corner. May be you and I and few others love our s7 but the fact is Samsung already have our money and they are not gaining anything now unless you upgrade. If everything is super prompt you are not going to buy the latest and greatest phone every year, will you?? The hardware s7 has will last for another 2 year with ease and Samsung knows that. So they are tempting people to get their newest phone nothing else. Plus they have limited engineers and developers assigned to this 2yr old flagship than newer ones which enjoys highest priority. Just wait for some time because that is the last update anyway.

  • I completely agree with the fact that samsung has a large portfolio but shouldn't Samsung prioritize S7 because it was once a flagship? I guess it should... It effects their image as a brand, I mean flagships are meant to have everything latest, then why not the andriod version? And its been a fair amount of time too, sony, moto and even chinese manufacturers like oneplus and huawei got their phones updated to oreo long ago... Then why not Samsung? I want the oreo update just because there are some features like applock etc that are coming with the experience 9, once experience 9 arrives I'll be able to uninstall a lot of apps, because the UI would have the features integrated...

  • For gaming like ppspp s7 is better that note 5. Im still waiting for oreo update. For net speed, get Korean variant.5G (LTE) is pure.

  • Yeah bro, the display, the excellent camera module, the widespread service network are a few things for which I don't want to switch from the S7... As much as I love samsung for their hardware I hate them for their software... And the slow update part is a BIG disappointment...

  • "Just To Cut It Short" Samsung Roll Out Update Very Slow Compare To Other Brand Flagship Device. Other Than This Samsung Is Well Known For Its Display (Thumbs Up).

  • Simple business plan. If you want latest and greatest go for s9/s9+ or wait forever for an update. And secondly Samsung has a much much larger portfolio than Google pixel, Sony, moto etc. That's why wait should be long. Thirdly Samsung ui is very complex and heavy integrating all these features without bugs takes time. To be honest apart from Samsung experience 9 nothing groundbraking is coming to s7. So it doesn't matter that much atleast to me.

  • The irony is the S7 edge oreo update got leaked in the month of Feb/march... Means, they have the update ready... I don't know what's the problem to roll it out... Earlier it could be considered that Samsung's recent flagship had not got the update, so did the S7, but as of now every flagship including the note 7 FE had got the update, now what's the problem in releasing the update?

  • Yes 2 Updates Max. But Way Too Slow Update As Google Device & Other Brand Flagship Already In Android P Beta Or Oreo.

  • for gaming is the note 5 better than the s7..*cos of screen size

  • Yes. I'm a gamer. Every game runs smooth on this phone with less heating. Battery on full charge will give you 3-4 hours of gaming on screen time. S7 has a flagship processor from 2016, both Exynos and Snapdragon variant, are more than capable enough to run latest games.

  • Guys, is s7 good for heavy gaming?

  • From your list of phones S7 is best but have a look at other phones too...

  • My z3 hot broke do I need a phone. I heard note 4 gets hot a lot. Which is better note 3, note 4, s6, s7 or iphone 6? This is asap pls help me.

  • It was the security patch for march... No changes...

  • When will Oreo come for S7 in India? Any update on that ?? Also I would like to know about G930FXXU2DRAG firmware update. Has anyone done that. Can u plz share pros and cons of this update? Thanks..

  • 18th may

  • I thought their 2yr old flagships get the update in march/april

  • That's How Samsung Update Their Flagship Device, From The Start Of The First Flagship Until Now. Apple+Samsung User Here.......

  • Shame on Samsung, andriod P beta is out and still no oreo for S7 duo...

  • Hey guys! So its still the same, that only UK has that Oreo on S7? If yes, then is there any date for everyone ells?

  • I cannot argue with that and do not game on a phone since D-Pad was not on a phone, in fact introducing a d-pad could give more precision in adjusting equalisers/fast forwarding in vids etc. It is amazing though that these cpu get away with fans for the amount of power they give out and yes Samsung ui is still not good.

  • Yes it does matter... If your mobile slowly heats up then there will be a longer time before it starts throttling, but if your mobile heats very quickly then it will start throttling very quickly... Samsung UI is very heavy and badly optimized which is the reason for quick heating... There are other UIs like, miui, oxygen OS, the one on huawei phones, sony UI, but either these have less features or they are optimized, Samsung's UI has been the reason why most of the people don't prefer samsung... Their UI is the reason why their phones start lagging in about an year and others don't... And this, is the problem that has been unchanged for years... Samsung really needs to work on this...

  • ok so after 4 updates Oreo 8.0 is onS7. Not good camera app is slow and had quite few app crashes and dvice feels bit juddery.Have reset it cleared caches etc and still same. Will give it few days for apps to optimise but to other people if your device is running fine then don't update.

  • Swapped my S8 for S7 cannot stand design and too fragile. Still think S7 is best bet.I swapped with mate plus 200GBP,my S8 had scratch but this S7 pristine. Setting up now and Oreo is available to download but won't expect any difference as use Nova Launcher. If it makes battery life better it will do me.

  • dores not matter if it heats up you have a potent cpu inside with no fan what do you expect, I think it is marvellous that they control the heat to this extent with ghz of power.

  • Any exact date for Oreo release in Serbia?

  • S7 not at all recommend for gaming... Samsung mobiles have a history of heating up... It heats up like crazy... Do not buy samsung at any cost...

  • 18 May 2018

  • Any exact date for Oreo release in India?

  • Okay bro... Buy it and then you can feel it yourself... There is no solution for these fanboys...

  • True that.couldnt agree more. There r people repeatedly spreading biased negative and unjust reviews. Dunno why they compare mid range phones without any tech knowledge. Hands down s7 is still a beast and oreo already rolling out with even better performance.

  • Yes, S7 is a great phone with great battery life compared to other brands. Ignore these negative comments as they are just haters.

  • Nope it does not. Heavy games like gangster vegas MC GTA FIFA Asphalt etc runs smooth and no heat. Bit battery drain maybe but surely does not heat up.

  • Samsung would not provide great battery life either, look for a midranger with high battery capacity... Now-a-days midrangers have almost equivalent performance as the flagships... The differences are just in camera deptt... Flagships don't have great battery life either, in order to stay slim... Have a look at the note 5 pro or asus zenfone max pro... They both have humongous batteries, 18:9 panels and the note 5 pro has fairly decent camera too... All the best...!!

  • Definitely not samsung if your purpose is gaming... Actually, it can handle gaming well, no sttuters nothing, but it will heat like crazy in very few moments... Yes any phone heats up while gaming but S7 heats up very quickly....

  • Hi guys is samsung s7 a good phone to last the next 2 years?or is there a better phone from like oppo/xiaomi with similar specs for under 300. I prioritize gaming above all

  • Anyone how have got oreo update. Please share your opinions on the camera quality in oreo. In nougat the camera quality is bad. I'm just hoping if they got fixed in oreo.

  • Is there pink line issueon s7 ???

  • Oreo is officially rolling out but only the United Kingdom for now. Soon other countries and the whole world.

  • I wonder why gsmarena didn't publish the news

  • Finally so hardup for Oreo Odin flashed UK version and now it's on woooohooo thank you sungsam

  • Finallly...!!! It should spread in the other parts soon...

  • Oreo s rolling out in d u.k.

  • Samsung should add dark mode in future update, this whitish everywhere is sick

  • why u guys squabbling about ? the main issue is oreo and when it will be released. that is what u guys should be concerned about.

  • is anyone waiting for samsung s7 oreo update only for samsung experience 9 like me?? because picture in picture, quick reply and most oreo feature is already present in s7. March patch Update is given too.

  • If only u were this discrete in ur reviews/responses to ppl..i would hv nevr posted the previous comment. Lmao

  • I never told you to believe my experience and ditch yours... I guess I mentioned it clearly that you like samsung, so go for samsung... I've explained the bugs many times so if you're following me since so long, then you must have read those also... Anyways, I'm not here to make you understand my issues, you can't anyways sort them out... Btw, I never said a thing abt huawei and oppo, I just compared a thing with xiaomi, which I think is quite true... And no dude I don't want to keep going with you, anywhich ways... I have got a very beautiful life outside and I don't need to waste my time on you... I may reply to everyone out there and share my honest opinions but that's my last reply to you

  • So i should ditch my personal experience and go with ur views? Tell me wat app lags.wat takes longer to load? Tap the home button 2wice/icon..cam opens in no tym! Same goes fr click button..tats smthn sammy boasts! Its been buttery smooth since launch..so there goes ur "own it for some time n it slows". I go thru articles n pages so usually hv 100+ tabs open in chrome..sure it eats up some RAM..bt has nvr slowed down d device or any apps as im constantly using multi apps on screen..scaled down to fit screen for use..u kno how useful it is! N most imp..care to explain ur "lil bugs"? U mentioned quite a few times lil bugs..kindly elaborate..or is it smthn like d one whr u complained the auto brightness changing automatically? Lol lol...i remembr tat post of urs..u been trolling for long on this s7 thread..u r a weird troller tho..earlier u used to root for xiaomi..oppo..huwaei..now u moved on to oneplus. Whom u kiddin dude? Dont spoil d reviews with ur BS. ppl usually look for user experience before buying. If they want info on other devices they can look it up in respective threads..why shove unnecessary n unrelated crap to ppl? I cud hv told u to go rant about ur bad experience..bt then i realise..u not in here for that n neither am i for a debate. Im sure u wl Keep the show goin ;) :P

  • Fair enough. Will I spend 58k for newest galaxy flagship of course not. I will go for Apple. But If I get a good deal in android like I got on s7 @21k I think it definitely worth it. One plus 6 if include water resistance will be market mover.

  • Yeah I know the track records, but anyway that doesn't concern me... I just consume media on my phone and rarely gaming... What I hate is, lags, longer loading times, small bugs here and there... And what I want is the best is camera... I can afford a good camera, but you just cannot carry a DSLR everywhere... Sometimes there are scenic shots which you want to capture and if there isn't a good camera with me, it irritates the hell out of me... As I consume media, so I prefer AMOLED screens... I have used xiaomi and oneplus, but never used huawei... Got to know that kirin chipsets are great, but their UI is very ugly... Hardware wise, samsung is good and 2k display, a good processor for such cheap price is good... But, again the UI... I hate it... I might root it, but again it may degrade the camera quality...

  • oneplus devices are fantastic and vfm but company track record is very bad. too many cheating and putting malware in software have been caught many. if budget is an issue and you are student or someone who is only consuming media playing games chinese phones are great option like honor/oneplus/mi. if you are in buisness or in sensitive job carrying important data never buy chinese phone. buy any flagship korean/japanese android or best apple. As i have told you I am an avid android user and have used many phones but samsung galaxy series is best for an all rounder. S7 and s7 edge was one of the most shipped smartphone ever. I am not a samsung fanboy because of its slower updates and still somewhat laggy interface and above average not best fingerprint scanner still s7 is the best flagship i've ever owned yet.

  • That's not true bro... Samsung's updates have the most issues... Anyways, you like samsung, go for samsung... I would rather switch to a oneplus in future when I gather funds

  • Been using sammy devices since galaxy base device launch..wat u said was true for earlier devices..but not since they changed a lot. I have also used diff flagships from other brands as well. As for Sammy..my note 2 lasted over 3years with same performance..no issues..then s6..now s7..updates enhance device maintenance n performance over time..since u r a long time sammy user..guess u should kno Sammy takes long time to update but gives the best tweaked n stable ones. So either hv patience or go for the manufacturer tat suits u.

  • Nice samsungltd I will be waiting. Hope the sales of the lousy s9 isn't delaying the Oreo update. Heard s9 bad sales so they play dirty with delaying Oreo biscuits for s7

  • Late updates giving more features

  • Wait for a few more months and then see... I use my device at its full extent in 9 months I'm getting to know what samsung is... I had used the note 3 and the same had started happening with me, I thought that it had been a fair amount of time so, samsung would have improved, but its the same... Same touchwiz bugs, small things that annoy the hell out of you... I made a big mistake switching for a oneplus to a Samsung...

  • Ear speaker problem in my s7 2 months old

  • really ????

  • Is that true.

  • 7 months

  • Hi Oreo will start to rollout at midnight , until 1 am,so please stay awake keep checking for updates. But remember the rollout will be for 1 hour only,be quick!!! Thank tou

  • today is 27 april no oreo??? so 18th may oreo??? you sure samsung reply me!

  • For how long have you been using your S7?

  • what went wrong with you from samsung? Actually I had never considered samsung till samsung s7. Touchwiz, slow updates, laggy interface, many other things hold me off. I got s7 only because of a steal deal and it was almost 1/3 price of original. Boy am i impressed with samsung. Samsung Pay, Secure folder is a life saver for me. I can not think of a phone without nfc pay and separate secure folder option like samsung gives. I am into buisness so dont get much of a time to tweak or flash anything but it does the job fabulously. I dont consider Iphones because they are too restricted and android is much friendly with other devices.

  • New fake news in stock android p will come may 18th

  • Samsung is very bad with dates... Before it was told that it will arrive on 13 april...

  • Oreo will come to S7 on MAY 18 . Still Not available a Midrange better than S7.

  • Its your call bro... Think about it... Do you still want to use a samsung? I'm never going to buy samsung again in my life I'm that annoyed with samsung... But the buyback value for your device is good, you will hardly be able to resale it anywhere at this cost... So, its your call bro, think about it and make your decision wisely...

  • samsung is giving me buyback for s7 of rs 21,250 for upgrading to s9/s9+. Is it a good deal paying almost 36k for s9 exchanging my s7 or should I keep my s7 and get a oneplus 6 instead?

  • galaxy is worthless

  • What a downgrade that would be lmao

  • You should start saving funds I guess

  • If oreo does not come to my samsung s7 by 27 april as first time speculations then i will sell this phone and get mi a1.

  • No nothing is confirmed yet

  • confirmed

  • Is this confirmed or fake news again?

  • Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Oreo updates coming on May 18 https:///samsung_galaxy_s7_and_s7_edge_oreo_updates_may_18-news-30654.php

  • Actually that Kirin processor of the Mate 10/p20 Pro. is faster than Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820. It competes with the Snapdragon 835. And we all know how good the P20 Pro's camera is...

  • I based my knowledged in this 2 unit on my own personal experience bcoz i owned them both. Thats why i knew what im talking about. Youtube? Evrybody can upload in youtube, right? What if someday you can view at youtube 1+1=4, would you believe it? Is that your logic? No books, youtube or whatsoever can overcome personal experience. This is a lesson for to learned

  • No bro... I had this unit samsung s7 since july 2016 and until now dont have any problem with it. As in, still in its excellent performance.

  • Enable SO Oreo

  • once the oreo update comes on 29th december 2018 i will carry on using this s7 until it explodes in my hands.

  • First confirm that its a really a samsung or not...

  • Okay now my S7 is making many new problems. After calling issues, it goes freezing when making calls and recording 1080p 60fps video. Try to update but it said processing failed, laggy software. Okay I'm done with this, Samsung. I am gonna return this phone. No more Samsung.

  • Fhd display vs qhd!! kirin against exynos/sd 820?? r u blind? Or that illiterate? Chkout youtube cam comparisons n u will see the cam quality..mounting Z's of MP dsnt help..40MP cam..still id say..u cnt polish a turd ;P ✌

  • Thanks man for your helping. Appreciate it. ;-)

  • I think it is caused by software as microphone can be working well or not work at all. After restarting my phone, calling is working well, microphone worked but about long time then for hours it stopped work, I cannot hear other side and other side cannot hear me too. I tried use voice recording and when i started record, it doesnt record any voices. Then restarted it, use voice recording and it records voice and also check calling it works well. Somethings wrong with the software. By the way, thanks man for your help. Really appreciated it. I need to figure out to work this things or I will returned this phone back before 25 April.

  • It can be anything... Maybe the antenna is creating problem?

  • it's hardware problem problem in your mobile microphone

  • Hahaha try mate 10 bro, and you will realized what you've said is just a joke... Honestly....

  • Bcoz, samsung want u to leaved behind ur old fone and buy their latest flagship that explode ur pocket thats why... Its always be the money talks. Not mentioned their selfishness

  • Its okay bro, its better to ask questions than to regret later... I'm from INDIA and here reliance jio has spoilt the whole carrier network system, there are cross connections, sometimes one side can hear me but I can't hear them and vice versa, sometimes calls get disconnected without even connecting... But these problems are with every phone out there and not isolated to S7... And whenever such things happen I just disconnect the call and try again... I don't need to restart the phone... Anyways, the best you can do is to get your phone checked at the samsung service centre, ask them if it is original or not, as we cannot physically see your phone it is difficult to determine anything... All the best

  • Thanks man, sorry for a lot of question but one more I want to ask, does anyone here have a calling issues? It can call, other side can hear what I'm said but they can't hear from me. To solve this, I need to restart my phone everytime it occured. I check on samsung community and it was a common issues on s7. Please anyone I really need help. How to solved this problem? I dont want to restart this phone everyday. I'm done with it. Plzzz ASAP

  • Sorry bro... No idea... I own an S7 if you want to confirm anything you can ask... The latest security patch currently is the march 2018...

  • Samsung experience 9

  • Bro, your iOS is very restrictive... A old school andriod user can never be happy with iOS... Try other manufacturers bro, move away from the tier 1 manufacturers... Oneplus, pixel, huawei are very competitive with updates... Try oneplus they have very good hardware and competitive price...

  • What are you lot expecting from Oreo that is going to be so different?

  • Wait for a couple of days, if it still doesn't show the update then the device maybe rooted...

  • Indeed. With Samsung, it's an infinite wait to get latest updates, especially major updates. The S7 has only gotten one major update and that was Nougat 7.0. It's definitely cause of huge portfolio, heavy Samsung UI and lack of commitment, despite having enough resources. I've had enough of Android and my experience with most other manufacturers have been bitter so once my S7 dies, I'll switch over to iOS. At least, Apple is quick to patch security exploits and provide long term software support.

  • My latest is on March 2017, attempted to check update but it said processing failed. I live in southeast Asia so I purchased on lazada.

  • Anyone can confirm exact date for oreo?

  • Seriously has snuff of the lies they said 13th April oreo update. All we have is lies again cheating.

  • Oreo update delayed to 27th

  • Why does samsung take long in android os updates ?

  • Go flash it now lol

  • When i get oreo update please give us oreo update samsung

  • Hello everyone! I have the canadian version G930W8, I bought it from a friend of mine (used before) it's on 6.0.1 marshmellow, when I try to update it manually it show me this message "The latest updates have already been installed"

  • When we get the orei (8) android update ,as per the news todays is the date ,guys any info plz share

  • Did you get the latest security patch update? The march 2018 security patch? If yes then probably it is, based on what you are saying, its very difficult to determine... I purchased it from Flipkart and it says black onyx on the box, I guess you purchased it from ebay?

  • android 8 pls

  • Actually my phone is pretty good, working well, camera is very good daylight and lowlight but noisy on indoor lowlight and outdoor nightime, not too much noisy. Overheat is getting okay. It works perfectly but I curious about the box. I purchased on online and at the box is written Black sapphire, i mean wtf?? Guys plz help me, anything I need to check with?

  • I have the black variant and on the box its written 'Black onyx'...

  • How to know fake S7? I bought it and on box it write Black sapphire is it true? My phone got overheat easily amd very hot.Camera is noisy at outdoor lowlight.

  • Means the andriod oreo coming this month is not so sure...

  • It's an update for March 2018 Security Patch.

  • I'm waiting for Oreo to arrive. Hopefully it will bring Samsung Experience UI 9.0. The Grace UI is sheet.

  • when i get this android oreo still waiting

  • It got the update today of 67 mb in India

  • The S7 will have better battery backup I guess, I don't know how iOS consumes battery but looking at gsmarena's ratings s7 sounds better... Also you have the ultra power saving mode on the S7 which can save much power and fast charging which is not as fast but will charge fairly quick if compared to iPhone...

  • If I have £250/€250 between a Galaxy S7 that sports Nougat 7.0 or an Iphone 6S (or SE) that sports iOS 11.3 which right now would you guys recommend in regards to true full day battery life if we consider almost all tips & tricks of saving battery life on each individual's mobile OS excluding rooting or jailbreaking and if we consider the actual battery is still at least 90% healthy?

  • I just recently update the software of my phone, everything was fine until I noticed that I can't move Facebook and Messenger to my SD card no more. Why is that? Can anyone explain? I removed it and it still appeared as Facebook Stub, How can I delete it completely, download it again and move it to the SD card as I had it before the software update? Feedbacks are welcome!!

  • coming from note 3 ... size is smaller but wow .. amazing phone .. super screen .. blazing fast ive rooted the device and installed ultimate nougat v2.5 debloated .. i average 7h hours on screen time with 18h phone on 😀😀😀 ... i got the zero camera mod and it takes superb photo .. low light shots are clear and amazing .. i recommend rooting the device if you have exynos .. super easy and worth it

  • Wi-Fi certs approved for oreo update still waiting...

  • hii guyz can anyone tell me how to use Google camera app i have installed it nd it's working in latest version 8.2 but I m not able to click portrait mode by gcamera app...

  • Samsung manufacturers their phones in both Korea and Vietnam... No need to.worry

  • I agree

  • Can u tell me original s7 made in samsung by koria if samsung by vietnam

  • If by April 13th official oreo does not come i will flash lineage os official! do not lie to us samsung.

  • Dxo mark does not lie apple boy.

  • For daily use like whatsapp, line, instagram, A5(17) or S7? I rarely use camera and i know S7 camera is much better than A5

  • ..Wifi password wont saves

  • I bought this phone from snapdeal with Rs 22990 now in 2018 and i think there is no phone under 35000 thousand which can be better than s7. Buy it. it is very nice still in 2018

  • What a fake review S7 and S7 edge camera better than iPhone 8 Plus Lol. Used all these phones including note 8 and S9 plus latest of Samsung and camera not as good as iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X stop lie to yourself, at low light S7 and S7 edge with white balance both are crap the white will looks yellowish instated of white unlike iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X shows exctlay the right scene without overblown light or yellowish white balance. Yeah in case of note 8 and S9 plus are better, but by much still over blown light at low light shoot and losing detilas at some shoot.

  • Correction again (bruh) *Not on battery, on camera. :-(

  • Some correction: On battery - iP8+ can't focus properly sometimes *but mostly on lowlight scenes*.

  • For someone who wants to buy this phone, you can buy this phone for: 1. Camera - One of the best camera you'll ever seen, I do have S7 along with iPhone 8 Plus, S7 edge do better at some particular things, have sharper and less noise than iPhone 8 Plus. Even at lowlight, S7 do little bit better, iP8+ can't focus properly sometimes. Honest opinion! 2. Display - Also, S7 has better display than iP8+, more visible under sunlight, more sharper and more vivid! 3. Features - microSD card, headphone jack, wireless charging. Yes, iP8+ also wireless charging but it doesn't have fast charging. Not to forget, heart rate sensor! But don't buy for this purpose (I'm not hardly prevent but not recommended): 1. Battery - This phone now 2 years old so battery may get degraded. It's not bad battery but recommended to carry along with powerbank. You will get decent battery if not worse. 2. Performance - You might asked this "Performance? Snapdragon 820/Exynos 8890 is not good chipsets?" To make this clear, I don't criticize the chipsets, it is about Samsung optimization. I'm pretty agree and gonna admit that Samsung UI is little bit laggy, but just not recommended for gaming person. It handled your daily tasks very good, but if you are gaming/heavy user type, advisable to lower your display resolution to Full HD, it won't stressed much out your chipset to push hard more power.

  • Never buy a used product... 90% of the time there is some or other problem so the seller sells it... So if you can figure that out, its well and good

  • well i think s7 is perfect in every sense excpt fr battry . Does not last long.....

  • Hi guys please tell me should i buy used s7 snapdragon or A3 2017 New i heard that s7 snapdragon had some issues half screen white random reboots block screen of death so I'm afraid to buy s7 both phones price are same in my country so please suggest me I have though budget soory for my bad English

  • april 13th do not cheat us samsung!

  • android oreo is comming april hope not disappoint this OREO

  • April 13th 2018 oreo update samsung s7. Please no not dissapoint. Long time coming...

  • Battery issues full charge 2.5 hours

  • Camera is good only if you don't require the portrait mode... Performance is good but its Samsung, it won't remain snappy for long...

  • Yes of course.

  • My priority is good camera and snappy performance. I'm not a gaming person but just for better and fast fot my daily usage. I don't mind much about the battery.

  • yes it's a very good phone i bought it 4 months ago and it's very good

  • Depends on what you are expecting with your phone... Pls mention...

  • If I don't mind about the battery, does this phone still a good buy? Camera and performance.

  • any1 noticed after the last gallery update..motion photo/short video clips of the clicks cant be shared anymore? any fixes?

  • Yeah bro, battery life certainly decreases as the phone gets old... Nothing much to worry about

  • has any ones battery life degraded ? i only get 5 hrs of continous usage (browsing only )

  • So you're god that you now that what will be the future tech in the next 2-3 years? When you don't know the future of tech you should not blabber shit like this

  • I already have an S7 and very much unsatisfied with it... The biggest mistake ever... To go for brand value over good phones... And I compared the charging speeds which are almost equivalent so before calling my comparisons shitty you should know what you are speaking... I don't think so you have used any other brand than samsung... That's why sharing pointless facts and calling Samsung UI as the best UI out there in the world... Guys before suggesting anything you should ensure that you are a normal person and not a fanboy...

  • If you really know what to buy, then stop comparing redmi 3s with galaxy S7, and use some logic/sense before such shitty comparisons. S7 is a deal at current market price, still a great phone to hold for next 1-2years.

  • It took me few minutes to understand what you were trying to say no offence okay just saying, camera in nougat version is not good it was better at Marshmallow, this is software bug, hopefully they fix it in upcoming oreo update which is due in coming month. Apart from camera in nougat everything is fine, battery back up is good for me (I don't play game too much), screen is gorgeous, fast charging is very good, and also wireless charging, samsung pay and a lot of features are very welcome and very useful in day to day life. You should confidently get S7 any day cause samsung is going to fix it camera bug in oreo update.

  • I know what I need to buy... Don't need your free advice

  • You should buy a redmi phone instead. Don't bother about S7, those who loves S7 will keep using it despite of your comment, it's all about one 's need and choice.

  • Sorry I thought it was 1080p, but it cannot be called as a bad screen... Its adequately sharp and has good colour accuracy, that doesn't mean that I'm calling the S7's screen bad... What realistic means that it seem to be real when you look at them ( the photos ), what better do you want... Fast charging, okay, first of all it has quick charge 2.0, secondly how fast does your phone charge from 10% to 70%? My redmi 3s charges with almost the same potential from 10% to 50% and it has a mammoth 4100mah to charge and S7 has just 3000mah... Even a lenovo z2 plus charges faster than this ( has the same 820 )... I'm least impressed with the fast charging... Talking about features, yes they are there, but least useful... Only a few of them are useful, rest all are bloatwares... Anyways everyone has a personal choice of features so lets not discuss about that... Talking about the UI, to be honest, I haven't used any apple phone, so I don't know about its UI, but my point is there are many other better UI's in the market, the S7's UI is meh, samsung has a history ( admitted by many tech reviewers) that their UI work great only for 2-3 months, after that they start lagging and creating bugs which doesn't happen with other UI's... And don't even think about the update part, as of now every other manufacturer has their phone on oreo ( the flagships), but S7, no sign till now... Colours on apple's camera look depressing, LOL, bro what are you talking... iPhones are known for their cameras bro... And the colours are not at all depressing, infact they are very punchy and accurate... Anyways bro this forum isn't meant for fighting, so lets end it here... According to your perspective S7 is good to go for 2 yrs from now, but I'm someone who loves to be on the bleeding edge of tech so I'm less likely to recommend the S7...

  • sir i buy s7 nought verision plz tell me i buy or not. i want best camera mobile why model i buy

  • hope so. My camera quality has also degraded alot .

  • Will android oreo update fixes all the nougat problems? I'm facing camera quality issue very bad quality in nougat and video quality is also pathetic.

  • thanx it did work.

  • I never admitted it. I only said it's only better for more realistic photos but the S7 is better for everything else. Also your facts are wrong. It isn't even full 1080p in the first place. And the competition is low. The first good Apple screen is on the iPhone X. The screen on the iPhone 7 is bleh. Let's not forget that it doesn't have fast charging or other features the S7 has. A two year phone has more useful features than the new iPhone 8. X and 8 do have fast charging but it's not as good as Samsung. Apple will never be able to compare to Samsung in useful features. X only had face id as a useful feature but the S9 has it with Iris scanner and fingerprint. Also I prefer Android camera because the colours on Apple look depressing. Android always has more details and dynamic range and better lighting. More saturation makes them look less realistic yes but overall Android camera is better. The only thing I don't like about the S7 is it will still be a while before it gets the Oreo update but other than that I prefer it over any iPhone ever made.

  • Resolution bro... The same happens with me on 2160p... Seems our ambient temperature is quite high

  • Mine does not heat, only heats a little while charging, I would suggest do a hard reset once, may be the problem is because of unnecessary cache or app causing the heat.

  • yes it is but its heating too much now even on moderate use.

  • S7 is still best

  • S7 is always a better choice at current market price. For better after sales service always prefer brands with physical presence in your area. S7 has a fantastic display, superb camera, good battery life, smooth performance, what else you need? The difference between snapdragon 820 or snapdragon 835 is way bigger on paper or in speed test but in real life, you will not feel a single difference in performance. Then why should anyone pay a hefty sum of money in the name of New phone, or upgraded model ? Don't waste hard earned money only for the sake of upgradation unless you have huge amount of wealth. Always, prefer value for money as per your need.

  • Finally the galaxy note 8 got oreo... Not many days left for the S7... Can't wait...!!

  • S7 for better support and overall great phone. Even LG g6 is a good choice too.

  • friend iam very confused to choose betwee lg g6 and s7 normal any help

  • In camera select "Selective Focus" option.

  • I would suggest better buy s7 instead of s7 edge. This pink line problem was there in s6 edge and it's in s7 edge aswell, So I guess it's completely a problem with the edge only. Now Coming to the gcam app xda, for me it's working perfect, If you want to check the portrait mode samples I can send you. It can happen that the gcam app may have encountered some problem. I would suggest, if any steps as suggested by others did nit work, then better format your phone and reinstall the app, it happened to me once. And I can say, once you use it, it will certainly blow away your imagination if how good a app can be for portrait mode photography.

  • change all the setting as mentioned on that forum. including develpors setting. i too am using n its bttr than stock camera most of the times.

  • I tried but whenever I try to click a photo in portrait mode the camera just gets struck, the developer mentioned that if such thing happens you should force stop the app, I did that too and tried again, it still didn't work, I rebooted the phone, cleared the cache and tried again and it still didn't work... Anything else I should try?

  • S7 or note5 or g6 or z5premium?? Why

  • it's working portrait mode working in this app

  • It didn't work

  • hi friend iam afraid about the pink line probleme like s7 edge...and at the same time iam afraid about the bootloop for lg g6 like g4

  • Are you serious? The front camera is a crap, unusable for me, do you expect a flagship phone like LG G6 have such a bad camera on front, not at all, and the UI is so outdated, further the screen quality is too bad . S7 is a killer for this much price my dear.

  • Changing wallpapers no longer satisfies my boredom bro... Waiting for the op6, if I gather funds then I'll switch ASAP

  • Bro you just agreed that the iPhone's camera is better... Whether it be realistic photos or anything... iPhones always had the colour accuracy that andriods never had... Now don't call me a apple fanboy... Horrible durability? What are you talking about? Bro, though the screen is just 1080p, its a tough competition for many screens out there... Just being AMOLED doesn't mean that the screen is best... Yeah, I know that if we compare iOS to andriod, andriod ecosystem is far more open than iOS... But that's not the point here, I don't think so S7 will be good to go for 2 more years... However good a phone be, there is a life for it, as the technology advances the phone is going to be stale, now the S9 has variable aperture, a year or two midrangers will be coming with the same technology, under screen fingerprint scanners, then who would care about S7? And I guess 5G is also on its way... Just have a look, the S5 or the note 5, still may have better camera than the a redmi note 4, but are people willing to buy it, NO... S7 is a great phone bro, I agree but there is an age for technology, you need to understand that...

  • I don't think so samsung is light years ahead from the competition, its a copy game going on between all the companies... For eg, when the google now was announced samsung introduced S voice, then google copied samsung by introducing the dual window multitasking by default on nougat... Every UI has a set of unique features, some useful and some not... I completely get your point when you say that samsung wants the S9 to get a headstart and I think you guessed it right...

  • I prefer LG G6 :)

  • LG G6 offers more for the price

  • Agree on you on the update thing but i just learn to live with it, as the other guy said the new Samsung ui is feature packed and has almost everything you need, just keep playing with launchers and themes like i do when you get bored from the software haha.

  • Even with faster chips the iPhone 7 is only a tiny bit faster than the S7 and not worth paying extra. Oh and the iPhone 7 does not have fast charging or wireless. And the S7 has faster Wi-Fi speeds and LTE speed. So basically the iPhone 7 is better at nothing except opening Subway Surfers faster.

  • I prefer the S7 over any phone in the world except the Galaxy S9. Two years is nothing as the S7 was amazing. In my opinion the S7 was the first good Samsung phone as the Galaxy S6 had it's flaws. Mid range phones can't compare with the camera quality. The iPhone 7 camera is only better at taking more realistic photos but the S7 camera is better for everything else especially with night shots. But just because it has a better chip doesn't mean it's a better phone. Lets not forget that it doesn't have a headphone jack. It has waterproof but it's only as good as as 2014's S5. Horrible durability just like all iPhones. Terrible display, not even full 1080p and it's a crappy LCD. Battery is not bad but not as good as the S7. And the worst part, iOS. I really don't like it because it's way too simple and dictated by Apple. It's also very annoying with too much extra security. All you can do is change the wallpaper without jailbreak. But the funny thing is even jailbreak isn't even enough either. A stock non-rooted Android phone can do more than a jailbreaked iPhone. And another point is the price. S7 is worth it's price while the iPhone isn't. Too overpriced.

  • please help friend and tell me your advice for me to choose between GALAXY S7 OR NOTE 5 OR LG G6

  • Must try this app, you will be in love with the s7 camera, below is the link:

  • Hi. Does the European single sim version of SGS7 (G930F, Exynos) have MicroSD card slot and LED for missed calls / text received?

  • Samsung ui is light years ahead of competition. I personally loved vanilla android but after getting Samsung s7 I must admit Samsung ui has the most useful features ever. Samsung slow the updates just to make their newwe flagship look good. See s9 just launched so if Samsung have released android O in jan/Feb then potential s9 buyers would just stick to s7. Now s7 updates are scheduled to April so s9 can get a headstart

  • The thing that bothers me are the very slow updates, as of now almost every brand's last generation flagship has received the oreo update but samsung has still not released the same... As the S7 edge's oreo got leaked accidentally means that the update is ready then why samsung wants to slow down their updates... Oneplus went to that extent that their previous flagship had the oreo update and current flagship didn't... They didn't hold back the update, that's why I respect oneplus... Why can't samsung be the oneplus way? Why samsung doesn't listen to their customers the way oneplus does?

  • Lol, bro I'm using an S7, maybe I'm spoilt or I do not respect the great camera the S7 has, but the cameras on the iPhones are superior, the 7plus onwards all iPhones have very good cameras, the photos captured on them just look so good with accurate and punchy colours, the software processing is thing which I guess Samsung are improving with each generation, but I still stick with my fact that the S7 is good, but not as good to use for 2-3 years from now...

  • Bro its not like that I hate the S7, if I would have hated it I would have never bought one... Okay, give me the link I'll try...

  • Just go check Youtube every Tech reviewer have prefered the S7 over the Iphone 7, and talking about the camera i think you never used the S7's camera because the way you are talking about it is just...Even the S6 still have a good camera so...

  • You have no idea bro, even apart from slow motion I don't find s8 or s9, or s9+ is that much valuable to pay an extra amount of $300. I will rather get a s7 for a lesser amount. Let me tell you about portrait mode, install an app named gcamera from Dear, which supports portrait in selfie and back camera both, you will forget about dual camera phones. Give a try, it is so accurate and clear that you can't get even in iPhone 7 plus. Now tell me what is gimmick about using an app for portrait mode, it's just that you don't want to accept the truth that Galaxy s7 is complete value for money.

  • hey friend is the s7 normal have the same probleme off vertical pink line like s7 edge?or just s7 edge?please answer bcz i like bay normal s7 normal

  • Yeah it is good bro but not for 2 years... Don't you see how fast every thing is evolving? Just imagine 2 yrs before S7... There were phones with much less battery backup, mediocore cameras... Now if you look at them don't they feel stale? Yes, that would be the exact condition of S7 just after 1yr... As the technology progresses, there will be under screen fingerprint scanners in mid rangers... Mid rangers would have camera quality comparable to the S7 and what not... Will you still be happy with such phone? The apps that make portrait out of a normal photo are mostly gimmicks... A phone which has dual cameras will mostly stand out...

  • Not really... The iPhone 7 onwards have more powerful chips than S7 and the camera on the 7 plus is just mind blowing...

  • It works only when the phone is on 3g or with jio...

  • Is anyone facing same problem during capture photo from rear camera in night, then eyes of person shown too bright and just look like some horrible eye..Is there any solution to solve the said issue

  • Is good phone

  • S7/S7 Edge next major update android 8.0 start on 13 April 2018

  • Forget the Snapdragon. Exynos is better. We can survive without dual cameras and we can always use ported camera apps for portrait mode. Oreo update may not be last one either as Samsung is changing. This phone will always be new to me.

  • This phone is honestly better than any iPhone every made.

  • Do mobile data/internet works while on a phone call on this phone?

  • Brother , if you are getting used one also in good condition like 6minths old in warranty, grab it blindly for Rs.15-16k, it's a complete value for money. If you buy a new phone today, then for the same specifications you have to pay hefty amount. And for a new one you can only get a midcore phone for Rs.15-16k. So, in short galaxy S7 is definitely a buying opportunity in 2018 for such a low price.

  • Download from playstore or enable from settings. The files and apps you install on secure folder are completely isolated from your other stuff. It's like a phone inside a phone. You can install two copies of all apps more like dual apps but very secure. It's password or fingerprint protected and if anyone try to tamper more than instructed no then only can be unlocked from Samsung knox Website. It can't be force closed or uninstalled from settings. Biggest plus when you don't need secure apps just turn off secure folder it won't even send notification. Just YouTube it for more details.

  • They are 100% original...

  • I understand samsung pay... But what's secure folder?

  • Use google camera port app for s7 in which you will get potrait mode and performs better than dual lens phone.

  • please friend Galaxy s7 or LG G6??and why?

  • Secure folder and samsung pay are the reasons I can never go back to any other oem even Apple. It's so smooth and no nonsense it's awesome. No matter what you are a busy person or student secure folder which was my Knox earlier separates all your data so securely it's mind blowing. No app lock can ever replace it. If you hide secure folder all the apps and files inside wont even show notification. I don't need to tell about Samsung pay, there are plenty videos. I hope other oems comes up with these features so you can choose among variety

  • how to deactivate the voice command ?

  • Guys please tell me someone in flip kart sale s7 22990. So these phones are oreginal or not..

  • I have used the selective focus on my S7 and its not that great... The object has to be close enough for the device to focus, which is the ideal condition always... I'm just amazed by what oneplus 5T, the MIA1 offers... Although MIA1 is a lot slow in focusing but the pictures shot with the portrait mode on the MIA1 and the selective focus on S7, the MIA1 nails it... And coming to SD636 and SD820, just to be precise the 636 and 820 are just 19 and 20... Just head on to this link if you want to know more

  • First of all the S636 is NOT as good as the S820, it's way less powerful because it's just a midrange chipset, second is that most of these ''dual cameras'' are not REAL dual cameras like the S9 plus or the few other phones who has it, most of theme are just a gimmic, use selective focus on the S7 and you get similar shots to a dual camera, for me this phone is still a beast and technically flaships can last for up to 4 years without problems so yeah.

  • please friend help me to choose the best phone frome this liste:galaxy s7 or lg g6 or huawei mate 10 lite???and its true that galaxy s7 have pink line probleme??

  • Thank you!!!

  • Among your options, I guess the S7 will be the best buy for you, but have a look at other phones too, the honors, the redmis, oneplus, they are way ahead from the phones you mentioned...

  • I don't think so it will be good to go for 2 yrs, the andriod oreo will possibly the last update for this phone and the old hardware will cause the phone to let down, because as you can see the SD 636 is as good as the SD 820 now... Yeah, it will have an edge for the camera but only in terms of camera quality, because as for the new trend, dual cameras, portrait mode is not present on this device...

  • Please guys help. I want to buy a good phone with good lifetime , good battery backup, less heating, fast charging, less lagging. And I use continues data or WiFi. And uses social medias all the time. What is the better phone for me, iPhone 6 or s7 or Samsung a5 2017. Please help. Thank you!!

  • The S7 still have one of the best cameras out there, it's perfectly fine and will be good even for the next 2 years, i own one and i love it, just buy it it's the best phone you can get for now at this price.

  • My review after 1 month use Great display quality very vivid colours, always on display, awesome crystal audio clarity, nice looking and solid build quality, Android nougat running with monthly security patch updates, Samsung UI is feature packed, fast performance no lags, no heating issue, very impressive camera quality both in daylight and low light, video quality also great with optical image stabilisation, full manual camera controls available, fast charging full charge in 1 hour 30 minutes, battery backup also good depending on my usage. Samsung Galaxy S7 is a very good phone and I'm very much satisfied with my purchase. Awesome in one word.

  • Bro I agree on all your points but the headphone jack on this device is crap... It doesn't get much loud, the output is tinny too... The headphones I guess are equally good with both the devices, I have used an apple earphones and they were too good...

  • The 6 plus is only better if you want longer updates... Rest the S7 is better...

  • Depends upon what chips you are comparing... Qualcomm chips are a bit expensive so manufacturers use mediatek chips in their entry level phones... I guess the helio P20 is a bit more powerful than Qualcomm Snapdragon 430... But mediaTek chips have less R&D on them so they are not as efficient as Qualcomm

  • I don't think that battery was the problem because it turned off by itself at about 80% and got hot until I've pressed volume down+on/off for 10 sec and after that it had 46% left. It took me some time to realise that the phone has got hot as this happened while I was driving. I didn't have battery drain issues, not until then and not since that one time. I hope it was some kind of software glitch and it won't happen again.

  • Change the battery bro...

  • s7 logic man.

  • Guys, is it still worth to buy S7 in this year? I really concerned about the camera which now maybe much more phone does have better camera than S7, another is about the microUSB port which right now phones using Type C port, and one more is about the future updates. I really interested with this phone because 5.1 phone is really good for me because I love smaller phone. Guys plz help me, I appreciated any opinion and answers, thank you.

  • S7. It's waterproof, has a better camera on both front and rear, better battery, better display (higher resolution and Super Amoled with higher pixel density), has fast charging, comes with better earphones (if you use them), better headphone jack output with UHQ upscaler and it's better in smaller things such as higher Wi-FI speed and signal along with data and SIM card. It's also a little faster in terms of performance. You also get heart rate, always on display and SPo2 if they're useful to you. Oh and lastly, the S7 is way way more durable and has a more of a premium build than the iPhone 6 Plus. I currently use an S7 and I've used a 6S before. I know you're talking about the 6 Plus but the 6S is better than the iPhone 6 Plus. The S7 is really amazing and years better than any iPhone 6 model. I'm happy with it. Go for it. It's probably even less expensive and definitely worth it.

  • No never even while gaming.

  • My phone also got hot and turned off last week, I pressed and hold volume down+on/off button for 10 seconds and it turned on, and after it turned on it had 46% battery left while before it turned off and got hot it had about 80%. I don't know what is the reason for that, and when the phone turned on, I had one notification from one samsung app that required update, maybe that was the problem. Hope this will help you.

  • After turning off that, the video doesn't shake anymore but I don't like the overall video and pictures quality it produced. It's like the video or pictures was taken from some cheap Chinese phone. In Marshmallow it was not like that. However I find it weird that the low light shot is still great. This is really annoying. What is Samsung thinking that I should go out only at night and shoot some moments, a moments happened at day time too. Stupid Samsung they need to fix this shit. This is serious bug I'm facing and it's all because of nougat 7.0 Should not have updated it.

  • My Phone has just gone completely black with no response to switching on/off . Have removed Chip and re-entered but nothing. Any idea of how to get it back up and running?

  • Sorry to hear that, but mine works pretty well. Get it checked at authorised service centre and see if the problem persist.

  • i bought it. but it heats too much while moderate using. .....

  • guys could any one help me...s7 or iphone 6 plus??

  • At the current price of Rs.22900, its the beat value for money. Dont let it Go... using it since 1.5years

  • How to compare Mediatek with Snapdragon? Spandragon is 2 times better than Mediatek..and let's not say that ulefone is filming full hd..is the cabbage.

  • just bought the ulefone power 3 it costs about 180 euro up to 300 euro. It has a 6 inch display, 6000 mag battery, 8 core cpu 2ghz, 6gb ram and android oreo 8.1. many of these are beter than the s7 so dont buy this piece of shit!

  • I own an S7 flat but if your budget can go up to 550$ get the 5T.

  • Does it Support 64QAM modulation in Uplink?

  • s7 edge

  • Oneplus 5t

  • is any one facing heating issue?

  • Try to shoot video with camera stablisation off. Ois in hardware does not go well with eis in case of samsung. Hope it helps.

  • Hey guys! Im thinking to buy a smartphone. So i have 2 choices Galaxy s7 Edge or Oneplus 5t So please reply which one would be go for me My budget is from 300 to 550 $ Im a moderate user and i will definitely gonna use that smartphone for 2 to 3 years

  • well mine is only 2 mnths old n yet it lasts only 7 to 8 hrs of nrml usage.....

  • The oreo update for the S7 edge got leaked accidentally... Samsung immediately stopped the update from seeding further but the update is still on the internet, it brings 8.0 oreo with samsung experience 9.0... And yes dual apps are supported...

  • My S7 is 1.5 yrs old now... Battery lasts only 8-9 hours since last update... Would a replacement of battery can solve this issue or I have to let it go now...

  • 8.0 is not available in S7 and may be in Edge version 8.0 is available. Dual is app is neither available in S7 7.0 Android.

  • android 8.0 (oreo)& dual app available?

  • You're right. Every update as the phone ages adds bugs and degrades defining features of a phone. I have no doubt Oreo will further make the camera quality worse. I have an Indian unit and camera is my top priority over anything else, so can anyone here tell how to flash official Marshmallow stock ROM on the S7 in order to retain the best camera quality this phone offered when launched?

  • Same here bro. It's probably my last Samsung flagship phone too because I don't like the reflections on curved sides. It's also not so practical for me because I watch lots of videos on my phone.

  • Hey Guys , i bought S7 from flipkart , the only thing i hating is the Camera , the Dual pixel pdaf doesnt works in 1080 60fps for which i bought the phone. I contacted Samsung Customer Service and they don't have any answer or solution , this problem is from 2016 to now . If anyone know the solution than kindly reply.

  • I also think so but It's a huge wrong decision of Samsung because there are many people like me who didn't like the curved edge display. Hope Samsung will revert their decision.

  • How to flash it and where to download the Marshmallow.

  • Oreo will further degrade the camera quality. The next way to restore the camera quality is to flash (install) the first builds of the Android Marshmallow with which the S7 launched. The only is, Marshmallow isn't as good to use as Nougat.

  • I really hope samsung fix this software bug in oreo update. Any idea when we might get oreo update.

  • nope couldnt find any way to restore it. may be oreo will make it better.

  • This is Nougat 7.0 software bug I guess. How will we return the camera quality back like it was in Marshmallow. Any idea, have you tried any solution to bring back the camera quality.

  • my camera quality also degraded after nougat.

  • My experience with the phone is pretty fine in terms of performance in Android nougat 7.0. However the camera 📸 quality in nougat is worst in every situation. Daylight shot is over exposed and video shooting is also a bit shaky. Anyone out there who face this issue and fix it kindly let me know. I love this phone 📱 but currently just the camera quality is just poor hoping to find solutions to fix this issue.

  • The Galaxy S7 is the last flat screen flagship phone from Samsung. I know there won't be any flat flagship S series Samsung phones ever again.

  • yeah ... go ahead .i bought s7 in flipkart in 2 weeks ago ..it has fantastic camera too

  • Any one pls suggest me shal i buy s7 in flipkart am a marketing person . I want charge backup whole day.. so pls s7 or c7 or c9

  • When lounch oreo for galaxy s7 ??
