Samsung Galaxy S8 - User Reviews

  • I owned an XZ1 since January, and I've just swapped it for an S8. No doubt the XZ1 is a fine phone, but the S8 has more features and options, a nicer screen (AMOLED with better res) and a much, much better ecosystem (i.e., it's easier to find someone who knows how to repair a Samsung, not so much a Sony, there are more aftermarket cases and accessories for Samsung, etc.). I found the Sony's camera and battery to be just fine, no problem with them whatsoever, my only gripe in with the 960fps which is pretty gimmicky at best, I preferred the XPeria X Compact's 120 fps as it was more versatile. I don't know how reliable the S8 is yet, but Sony's build quality has been getting worse and worse, and I should know, I've been using Sony Ericsson/Sony since 2005 and have owned a lot of their best phones. The XZ1 developed screen problems and earpiece sensor issues, and its wifi reception was pretty bad.

  • Even I'm stuck on September update on my S8+ I dont think it's gonna get night mode in camera unlike the S9 series.

  • Even I am stuck with September security patch. But found in internet that some are getting october update. Which has good improvement in camera for night capture. I am from India

  • I have tried both gluing sim with sd and using adapter or sim extender both ways don't work with pie. Though still m looking for another s8 dual to which I ll downgrade from pie to android 8 then use both sims plus sd. Any1 who can tell me that is it possible to downgrade from 9 to 8, I talked to software changer he said it's not possible to downgrade from 9 to 8 as samsung has made it difficult now.

  • watch this video for the second sim card

  • Don't buy the XZ1!!! I had used it in the past & it has horrible camera, screen ain't great, mediocre battery life, very slow charging & underwhelming design. If you look at both the phones side by side then you'll surely pick the S8. I'm using the S8+ and it's one of the best phone I've used so far.

  • Sony Xperia xz1 ? Or Samsung S8? Suggest me.

  • Yes. It is performing well with one ui (pie). The only thing better in oreo was pictured quality.

  • Whats the latest update you guys got on SGS8 mine is September 2019

  • Yes.

  • Hello guys! Does S8 supports microSDXC 256GB U3 ?

  • There has been no end date announced but it should be some time yet based on previous evidence e.g Galaxy S7 still receives updates and even S6 has received at least one update this year (4 years after Launch) Sorry I cannot be more specific but that's just the way it is.....nothing is set in stone but Samsung do tend to go beyond what is required of them. Now, whether that is good enough or long enough. Well that's a whole different thing. In short - dont know, it's a bit of a mystery :)

  • Then for how any years more S8 will receive security updates?

  • On a dual SIM S8 you are unable to install two SIM cards AND a MicroSD card at the same time. You can either install two SIM cards or One SIM card and One microSD card. There were ways that you could get around this ( glue part of SIM to microSD card or buy an adapter) BUT please note and see the posts below from 'Khavi001' because apparently you are not able to do this anymore since the PIE update. I stand to be corrected on this if anyone has successfully been able to do so.

  • pls i dnt no hw to insert de 2nd sim at de sd card place

  • Yeah, the phone still performs well.

  • No. That's it! PIE was the last. S8 launched with nougat and received Oreo and PIE. Only security updates from now on which will move from monthly to quarterly eventually.

  • Android 10?

  • Is this phone doing good on Android 9 ,like battery performance etc

  • Reset and try again

  • I worked attaching 2nd sim with sd card and inserted 1st sim .I also used sim adapter or sim extender but both didn't work on pie. If you want to use 2 sim plus sd you have to down grade to 8 or 7 to use both of these.any one who can tell me some very good custom rom for s8 fd

  • Go to some software installer he will uninstall android 7 and will install official rom android 9.if u keep trying to update by going to mobile software update it will not .until u do what I told u above.

  • Check online on how to use Odin to update it manually, you can use smart switch to back up all your files before updating.

  • can anyone tell me how to update to android 9.0? bcs my phone stuck at android 7 sigh. I checked software update it stated "software is up to date" Please someone help to fix this thing

  • My s8 not detecting hard disc, formatted with exFat

  • I've resolved my S8 battery drain on my 1 year old S8. Battery was getting worse and worse with each update or so it seemed. Android System and so on were draining a LOT. I had about 2-3h SoT. NOTHING helped. Factory reset, disabling apps, greenify, betterbatterstats, GSAM, etc nothing. Accubattery stated my battery's health was around 94%. Despite this fact, i went ahead and had the battery replaced. I have ~5h SoT now

  • R u using 2 sims plus sd. If so please tell me what method r u using and it's working on pie.

  • My s8 is not detecting hard disc any more why?

  • looks like android pie is giving some issue. best way is gluing sim card chip to your microsd card. As it will not affect water resistance of the phone

  • same performance. you will notice negligible difference

  • Hello, Any recommendation on the best tempered class or screen guide that be very responsive when applied on s8 Thanks

  • How's the update compare to the August update?

  • I have.

  • please share those ways with which i can use 2 sims plussd card. thanks.

  • Hi, the S8 does not Officially support using 2 SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time on the dual SIM models. There are only 2 slots available for you to use. So you can either use 2 SIM cards or 1 microSD + 1 sim. However there are ways around it. E.g (model shown is S7 but same applies to the S8's) Or you could try something like a SIMORE's X-Extender. BE AWARE THOUGH - ANYTHING YOU MAY TRY IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither myself or gsmarena endorse :)

  • Hi all, need to use 2 sims plus sd card on s8 FD dual sim on android 9 please help

  • You could use Odin to update firmware.

  • Please s8 battery runs down fast.its running Android 8.0. Does it need an update.i don't know what's causing the battery drain.

  • why dont cu get urself real pixel phone if wanna get android update

  • Yeah it's sad. But as a fact, most Android flagships except pixel devices only receive 2 years of major OS updates and 3 years of security updates. And that night sight feature you mentioned, that's just pure injustice specially since it's done through software.

  • Hahahaa good one

  • "I think I will move to the apple eco system"

  • I was and I'm still an android fanboy because of the customization and the fact that you can do whatever you want to. For example, I got the camera app from Pixel phones and I have night sight (which works AMAZING, it looks like I have a new phone) + that great enhanced HDR. Btw, my phone is exactly the Samsung Galaxy S8 exynos model. I like it and it works like a charm, is basically as fast as it was when I got it and the display is A M A Z I N G, one of the best out here but I hate the fact that we get only 2 android versions and not all the features from the next year flagship phone. For example, my stock camera doesn't have night mode, while M30 (a s**t low end phone) have that feature...anyway, I think I will move to the apple eco system. Yeah, I know...no customization...and what? the performance is amazing and it gets better and better after every IOS update. A little expensive though but apple is moving in the right direction. Samsung, hope you lose all your customers because you don't deserve them. We pay 1000$+ for only 2 versions of android and then goodbye :) nice

  • Same problem

  • Got September 1 security patch

  • The s8/s8+/Note 8 support officially recording 720p@480fps With the September 2018 update please correct it

  • Hey, I have dual sim too, got it second new and I have made all necessary update to ONE UI, I just recently updated to August 1 update, no issue at all, I guess maybe your friend location or network provider could be an issue, just saying, Maybe he can talk to Samsung care center for better solution. Am really happy with the phone I must say, this is my first ever Samsung phone, am always buy LG phones, I don't experience any heat while using it or playing games like fifa 16 ultimate, battery is very decent for me, most times am online so can't complain, so far everything works great plus I love the new ui, Samsung has won me over, sorry LG 😁

  • Dear guys, My friend has a Samsung S8 950 FD, dual Sim. The phone doesn't update One UI. Is there a problem or how can be resolved? Thank you!

  • Tried wetting the finger?

  • Its not something that I have ever come across before, not surprisingly, as this 'issue' will only apply to a relatively small number of users and is connected to Sprint celluler users (US) I'm sorry that my suggestion had no lasting effect and like you have probably done, I find myself looking for possible fixes on the internet but there are plenty of conflicting advice as to what is the best thing to do here. Some things work for some but not for others. I hope that someone is able to assist you in this as it would be intersting to know what the permanent fix is. Please do let me know how you get on if you are able to find a fix elsewhere. Much appreciated.

  • Thank you! I tried this and it lasted for 24 hours, then showed the notification again..

  • As I understand it. Your phone keeps rebooting. My first advise is to seek help from an Official Samsung Outlet ... Or You could try a factory reset (Your data will be lost) If the phone keeps rebooting, then I would keep pressed at the same time 'volume up ' 'Bixby button' and 'Power Button' do this until you see a Blue Screen... You will then hopefully then see a menu and you should select 'Factory Reset'

  • Try Go to Settings -> 'Apps' -> Click on the three dots and check "Show system apps" -> Scroll down to Spint OMADM and force stop it.

  • My Samsung Galaxy S8 can booth to desktop as it only start and sure Samsung Galaxy S8 over and over. Please help me

  • Dear guys, Please help me out, just got the Galaxy S8, used. It works fine but shows "Sprint OMADM" and the icon, which can't be removed ( It can be removed temporarily and shows after 20 minutes). Is there a way to be removed? Thank you!

  • It will take you a day or two, to get used to the update but it's worth it. Feels snappier and fresh.

  • The UI is crap and doesnt help at all its a tedious and useless function and if u dont update i would recomment it at all. Cuz the oreo and older software works just fine with any phone even the newer ones. Samsung is just trying to ripe people off with a new software that is pointless

  • Its really smooth and works well ,u should update

  • May screen On Time before was about 6hrs, now it ranges at 4.5 to 5hrs. From 1st upgrade of Android Pie to its Latest Update, there is no improvement on battery. Battery was also replaced by Samsung 4months ago so the Update really affected it. Hope this help

  • Could anyone plz share about the experience after One UI( Pie) update. How much beneficial it could be. I'm quite happy with Android Oreo. It's really fluent with Oreo..... Thanks dear.

  • Any person solve my problem. The call recorder cannot show caller name /identify .

  • Someone let me know if you have any idea

  • That's good to hear :)

  • Thanks that was helpful.

  • Try drying it out with a hair dryer, if its waterproof don't worry, once it dries off you will not get the moisture notification

  • Moisture has been detected in my charger/USB port. How to solve? Samsung galaxy s8.

  • My S8 has around 30gb of other files when I checked with storage analysis using device care. How can delete those

  • But it doesn't affect my daily use

  • Yes, I got August 1 security patch

  • I when to samsung center and told me they didn't seen this sign before. they also had help me tried to charge sometimes pops out. Sometime don't

  • Slight Correction : Sorry that should have read Also dial *#0*# as if you are making a call. Press 'SENSOR' scroll down to 'Finger Print Test' and the press ''Normal Scan' will then take 5 secs  Everything should have '' PASSED'  To come out after the test just press back button '

  • I know it's probably sounds obvious but make sure glass covering the sensor clean and not damaged in anyway (scratched) hold phone very very close to a light and scrutinise the glass. Also dial *#0*# as if you are making a call. Press 'SENSOR' scroll down and press 'Finger Print Test' and the press ''Normal Scan' will then take 5 secs Everything should have '' PASSED' If the phone allows you to input your fingerprints again also make sure you conduct this by placing finger at different angles with your finger with every single input, just slightly move your finger each time.

  • Sounds as if there could be e.g a problem with the connection inside the phone with the battery (possible dropped the phone, just a guess or ) or it could be just an issue with the software. That's quite shocking that the Shop just scratched their heads, thats terrible service. Did the notification appear when the service centre charged the phone up? If not, I would try another cable. Are you sure it's a battery showing with the exclamation mark and it's not indicating that there is a problem with the connection between the the charging cable and the phone? Which would indicate the cable or C connection is faulty. This person seems to of had the same issue that you described (although it's hard to tell) and found a solution that tbh it's a bit strange but claims it worked for him or her. Worth a try anyway. I would consider doing a factory reset also IF the phone is charging normally and the only issue that you have had Is the Alert notification. If problem persists I would be looking for a 2nd opinion from another Service Centre. And if the warranty is still valid I would certainly not have left the shop until something was done.

  • Go to recent apps button, press the icon and choose split screen

  • Anyone knows how to activate split screen s8 pie? I can't seem to figure it out.

  • My Samsung Galaxy s8 fingerprint sensor not working not detecting my finger it tells make sure you're finger is dry anyone help me

  • I already went for few time. They also tried to charge it for me. They also don't know wat is the problem .

  • When I use wireless pad to charge it then the exclamation mark didn't pop out. Only when use adapter then it pop out. That why don't know what is the real problem

  • I know that people have or will receive(d) the August update for the S8's. I've recieved recently the August for the S8 Plus myself. You are probably aware but just in case anyone was not, not everyone receives updates at the same time and will depend on factors such as the country/region or even your carrier. There can be weeks between the first person recieving an update and the last ro recieve an update. I know for a fact that there are many have not yet received the August update, so I wouldn't worry about it too much :)

  • My latest update is July 1 security. anyone got next update? If they released S* 6gb/128gb after an year then they should give one more android update considering 2 android update for the same variant.

  • Which is best custom rom for s8 fd?

  • I would go to a service centre to check the phone out. There could be an issue with the battery after all.

  • Yup.

  • It's OK, I mean is after charging only the exclamation mark pops out not when on charge

  • *every time?

  • Sorry, please forgive me but I'm not 100% sure about what you are saying exactly. Are you saying that your phone charges normally with no problems at all. The only issue that you have is that when the phone is shut down and the charger is plugged in you see an exclamation mark? Is that right? Do you see this exclamation EVERYTIME the phone is shut down and on charge? or does the exclamation mark appear intermittently when the phone is shut down and on charge? I occasional see the same thing tbh and it's always been because there has not been a good connection between the charging cable and phone. When I have a good connection exclamation mark does not appear.

  • Oh ,l see.but it still fast charging. It just pop out when I finish charging n when I switch off

  • Not necessarily as it could just be a bad connection in the port, a faulty cable or even the charger itself resulting in slow charging. I would even advise the user to try a wireless charger to see if the issue still exists. This would be a more sensible approach rather than instantly jumping to the conclusion that the battery needs to be replaced.

  • Battery needs replacement. Buy a new battery.

  • If you are saying that you are seeing an exclamation mark showing when the phone is shut down and on charge. Then it means that the phone is slow charging. I would make sure that charging port is cleaned out and if problem still persists then try another cable.

  • May I ask hv u guys seen a battery sign with a exclamation mark while finish charging on S8 and it is totally shut down the whole hp . I charge it during totally shut down my whole hp then when I finish charging on my S8 n I turn off my switch. It pops out the battery sign with a exclamation mark. What is that mean?

  • Whilst the keyboard is on the screen, click on 3 dots (should be at the top right) then click on modes and you will see options there.

  • You have a fake S8 bro god with you 😂

  • Hello, Anyone can tell me how to disable floating keyboard on s8, after upgrading to pie I had enabled floating keyboard but now I want it disabled but I can't seem to find that option in general management- language and input options, anyone know this can assist me. Thanks.

  • This phone has a snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, Android 9, costs 400$, and it doesn't support even a s**t game like Pokemon Masters. The iPhone 5S does. Welcome to Android, you are f***ing welcome.

  • I've had my S8 since launch, my battery life is a little better since updating to Pie, but not by a massive amount. Like mine, your battery has probably lost some capacity (Accubattery reports 2250mAh) as most batteries lose a fair bit after a year and should ideally be replaced around 2yr mark. I'm going to replace my battery, but I don't have huge expectations as the S8 has never had the greatest life. Maybe try a complete factory reset as well? I'll probably end up buying a new phone before the end of the year anyway, cos it barely lasts a day at work with a medium amounts of phone calls and barely any browser usage.

  • i have same dual sim s8 and i have upgraded to pie, maybe it has something to do with your region, am not sure.

  • Use device care app and check what is consuming more battery, if it is android, then oie update is causing battery drain

  • I don't know why my S8 battery drain quite fast

  • For me NO..! After pie update it became better

  • Hi, may I ask did u guys S8 battery drain very fast?

  • Is it true that with one ui, adapter is not working?

  • Hi. With pie u can't use 2 sims plus sd card using dual sim adapter or dual sim extender with stock android 9. What if u use custom rom android 9. Can then I use 2 sims plus sd card using sim extender. Any1 who tried it successfully. Looking 4 solutions please.

  • If you can afford to get it fixed, then go for it. If not, just get a Redmi k20 or something, I’m pretty sure they cost about as much as the repair costs.

  • Thank you for your quick reply, Let me know anyone here using 512gb or 1TB SD card in S8 and How is the performance when the MicroSD card is full.

  • Well I don't know about fortnite but in PUBG, the highest setting I got was HD graphics and high framerate.

  • No one realizes that The Snapdragon Samsung s8 version can only play Fortnite on Medium setting while the other Snapdragon 835 can play It on High setting And Some guy said that Exynos can now play PUBG on HDR Ultra and Smooth Extreme after updating to One UI , is that true?

  • The S8 WILL accept a legit 1tb SD card. So it is gsmarena that are on the ball and the other sites are out of date. The capacity of SD cards has increased since the S8 was first launched so it's simply a case of the other sites are behind the times and have not updated accordingly.

  • What is actual expandable storage of s8. official site was showing 258gb. But now it is showing 512gb. GSM arena says 1TB. I have Indian exynos variant dual sim model. Someone pls give a quick reply

  • There is only a sm-g950u that applys for all carriers the sm-g950u1 is unlocked and has no carrier flashing and can work on any carrier unlike sm-g950u witch isn't technically unlocked

  • I completely get why you are feeling upset about the experience that you have had but It's only your experience and does not mean that everyone will run into issues such as you have had. I know that you are not saying that but I feel it's only fair to point this out :) Technology can develop faults and if the fault occurs outside of the warranty period then unfortunately it's not covered and you are going to have to pay to get if fixed. The same rule applies whether you are buying a supercar or a mobile phone. ... things can go wrong. Sadly, hardly anything in life unfortunately is fail proof. So what phone will you go for now and why? What phone will you buy that you can fully rely upon and that you can be confident that it will not fail within the timescale that your phone failed?

  • India

  • Your country?

  • I've bought this mobile in 30th Oct 2017, costed me up to Rs.54000/- since then it was all working good but few days back 19 Aug 2019 it had sudden heating problem(Kindly Note: It was in no use & had 80% battery left), which turns my mobile off & unresponsive. When i bring it to service center there i got to know that 'Motherboard' has got damaged due to excess heating. Now the required repair will cost me up to Rs.20000/- because its been over warranty period. The mobile couldn't even able to complete 2 years(2 months before gone dead)..which indicates poor quality & cheap product wrapped in high value. So it's my only & genuine request to you all people out there willing to buy these high end products, have think first before investing your hard earned money in third class quality product or would have to be regret later like me.

  • I have s8 dual sim. still not receiving PIE update...what is the reason??? Last security patch was november 2018 and phone is not rooted running on official firmware

  • Galaxy s8 is good phone but after one ui update battery drin fast any solition plese

  • I have s8 dual sim. still not receiving PIE update...what is the reason??? Last security patch was november 2018 and phone is not rooted running on official firmware

  • A great phone with good quality pictures. I am satisfied though bought 2years after release. Only issue is you cannot use dual sim if you use a memory card.

  • First thing,it's not a hack, and you can use both sim and micro SD at a time. Check without adapter, if it works fine then change the adapter

  • Make sure to clean dirt from d ear fone, u it shuld sound better.it happened to mine too. Dirt gets into dat net easily

  • I got s8 fd its a good fone but I found sound is less once u r receiving a call and secondly if u use dual sim adapter (to use 2 sims +sd card) it won't work. Some1 said in android 9 this hack can't happen.

  • If it's a reasonable price, I'd say go for it. I got one secondhand in the summer of 2018 and haven't had any problems to date, and that's with heavy use. For standard communication/browsing/etc. purposes, I'd recommend it!

  • The A series are of good qualities and are not expensive as the S series but the they don't have the qualities like the S series for example The screen of the A70 is of corning gorilla glass 3 but the S6 edge uses corning gorilla glass 5

  • no, buy one of the galaxy A ranges , similar spec and better camera at a fraction of the price

  • Is it worth to buy Samsung galaxy S8 in 2019.

  • I proposed the option of a 7 or 8 in tablet that supports sim cards but it wasn't portable enough and could not be held with one hand. Thanks anyway I might get one for myself.

  • For senior citizens, especially in the condition you are talking about, I believe its always better to get a tablet than a phone.... my advice, get Samsung tablet instead.. regards

  • Thank you so much for the advice. I'm taking my uncle to see some phones soon and i'l let him pick one out that will fit his needs

  • You're most welcome:)

  • I would certainly recommend a case, that's the first thing and I would say that whether you were young a senior citizen, able bodied or if you had a disability as it's quite a fragile phone and will be prone to damage if dropped without a case. The phone imo also doesn't provide much grip when used with one hand or when trying to turn the phone in the hand, its basically a glass sandwich. The phone also has buttons on each side of the phone which could be awkward for someone that has only has the use of one hand. But anyway... This is going to really come down to what the user finds comfortable as I'm sure you are aware, so there is no better way than allowing the person to check out the phones for themselves in this case. Regardless of whether you have a disability or not, the same always applies. What may be good for one person may not be so good for another.

  • hey guys do you think this is a good phone for a senior citizen that is paralised on one side? If you have any suggestions for a phone under 400 cad please tell me thanks.

  • Thank You!

  • my get problem my camera refused to come

  • Could mean a number of things. Depends on what the sellers definition of 'open box's is. I would contact the seller directly and ask. Any seller worth their salt will be open and transparent. As always it's 'buyer beware', especially when goods are 2nd hand and comes with NO warranty. Here's what Ebay say - "An item in excellent, new condition with no wear. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. The item includes original accessories. The item may be a factory second. See the seller's listing for full details and description"

  • I am using S8 from October 2018, not able to find a new phone to replace this. Only option I do consider is S9. But its not worth to buy S9 now being a S8 user. I want a phone without notch, hole in display, moving selfie camera etc. Ok with thin chin and forehead like S8.

  • Y because u say so ....humble yourself ....let ppl live .

  • Hey! What do you think buying Samsung Galaxy S8 from EBay "open box" ? Is it safe to me? What does it mean?

  • I will never understand the crazy scramble for updates. People tear their hair out and squeal if they do not receive quick updates. They then go and download for themselves and end up stuffing their phones. Learn to be patient and be satisfied with what you are currently using. It works just fine as it is up till now. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

  • Or he or she could just be economical with the truth. Either way yeah, I wish them good luck also :)

  • I don't know as I have not played PUBG, so I have never ran into any issues. I don't know if any of the suggestions out there would work, or have worked or if the issues experienced by others are identical to your experiences. There could simply be issues with the app itself.

  • So how it can be fixed?

  • In that case it seems that you received very poor service if they could not determine software from hardware. I wish you all luck.

  • 10 hours of LTE on S8 verry great phone

  • Tbh I firmly believe that you have exaggerated many things to try and make a point. What you are saying does not stack up. It doesn't. The position you find yourself in at the moment lays at the door of yourself, you should share part of the blame and be honest with yourself and others. Fair enough if you have an issue with the phone and annoyed, that's understandable but I don't think your first post was kind advise at all and it was misleading at best as you didnt paint the full picture.

  • For my case, I flashed android pie via Odin. Will check on online guides for checking if Knox was tripped. It's true that the Kenyan Samsung centre adviced me on sending the phones to Dubai for repair The numerous charges came up coz initially they thought it was software based and after they ruled that out...they started to check the hardware. The cost for each charge was 15 dollars so I didn't mind

  • I did think that was possibly the case, that you got a good deal in Dubai tbh. Have you done anything with the phone e.g rooted or flashed Custom Rom, flashed firmware (PIE)? If so, has knox been tripped? (There are guides to check this) How did you get on with email to Samsung and did you contact UAE? Any luck? What did they say? I contacted Samsung in Kenya and they said you would be able to ship phone to Dubai and therefore repaired under warranty. Ok, you would have to pay the shipping cost but it's an option worth considering. And if all 3 phones sent at once then you and your colleagues could split the costs so that it works out cheaper for you. (If knox has been tripped then warranty will be void unfortunately) When you went to the Samsung Repair Centre in Kenya, what did the technician say they had done? You said you had the phone fixed 10 times (charged 7 times) Was a guarantee of the repair given at anytime? If not, did the technician give any reason for not giving you a time limited guarantee? And what was their justification for charging you each and every time when phone was obviously not fixed on previous occasions?

  • Btw my colleagues and I bought our phones from the same shop in Dubai....coz the price was really discounted...😓😓 We noticed the issue after updating to android pie...I seem to have the most restarts..maybe because am using 2 SIM cards. Others have at least 2 restarts in a day...

  • Agree but then again there is nothing more to come. Does it seem strange to you that four people would have an identical phone. Normally in a group someone has a different phone to the others unless there was a special deal if they all bought together. Who knows.

  • Yeah, if you get your phone repaired at an unauthorised shop or store then warranty is void. It is bizarre that his phone and his 3 colleagues all have the same issue. Could be that they have all rooted phone, flashed custom rom and tripped knox therefore voiding warranty too. Sure, you will get some cases here and there with boot loops, I believe when Oreo was released there was an issue but there is something odd here, something just doesn't feel right and tbh I feel like I've not heard the full story. He/she said that they called Samsung and went to the Samsung Service Centre who pointed out that they could not repair phone under warranty in Kenya because bought in another country/region, so you would think that Samsung would of advised him/ her there and then of the best course of action to take. And the claim the customer was charged 7 times for same repair.... weird and that his/her colleagues also have not been able to get phone repaired also...strange. I will keep and open mind but at the moment, it just doesn't stack up.

  • Ouch hadn't considered an unauthorised repair voiding his warranty. Actually the whole darn story seems bizarre. I just don't understand how so many phones can have the same problem. Samsung s8 is not prone to boot looping. Weird.

  • I wish I could be able to add a video..as I have taken a video of the phone

  • I believe its an official center...a customer representative directed me to the place after I made a call to the Kenya Samsung customers care number..

  • Here's a link to Samsung (different countries) it might be worth getting in touch directly with Samsung in the country it was originally bought from.

  • "Samsung warranty should be worldwide" Yeah, you would think! But it is my understanding that if you bought the phone in a different country/region then you may run into difficulties when trying to get the phone repaired in another country under the original warranty. Nevertheless the poster said that they went to a Samsung Repair Centre to get the phone repaired, so assuming that it is an Official Authorised Samsung Repair Centre then the repairs themselves should be guaranteed. It makes no sense that this Customer has been charged 7 times for repairs. ALARM BELLS RINGING! The Customer may have to get in touch with Samsung in Dubai, where the phone was originally bought from. But I'm hoping that Samsung will be pointing him/her the right direction here and if this shop is indeed an Authorised Samsung Repair Centre, then it's pretty dodgie service and something really need to be done about it and at the very least you would think that the Customer should be reimbursed by the extra charges incurred. Samsung needs to take ownership here. Perhaps you are correct in thinking this Customer has just went to a repair shop that is not Authorised by Samsung. Now, that would explain a lot and may even result in voiding his/her warranty if repairs not carried out by an Authorised Samsung Repair Centre.

  • That is totally unacceptable. Samsung warranty should be world wide. It sounds more like the technicians who looked at your phone had no idea what they were doing. I would be thumping the desk demanding proper service or a replacement. Is it an official Samsung service centre or simply a phone repair shop. If it is just a shop then they have no obligation to honour any warranty.

  • I wish you all the best :)

  • ok..thanks will send an email to samsung...

  • Any repair carried out at a Samsung Service Centre will come with a guarantee so you will be covered whether your product is still under the original warranty or not. The technicians also need to meet certain standards. I would contact Samsung directly if what you are saying is true. As this obviously is not acceptable Service.

  • The phone would behave very normal for a couple of days maximium 4 days....then out of nowhere the reboots would start....

  • Am in Kenya....the Samsung service center declined to honor the warranty because I didn’t get the phone from the region. I complained a lot in vain. I really wanted the device up and running as it offered stellar performance. I took the phone to the center more than 10 times(paid for service given 7 times...others were sort of waived). Lastly the guys over there couldn’t understand what was going on and sort of gave up on my device

  • Can't be a fake S8 as the poster claimed he/she took phone directly to Samsung who would of spotted that.

  • You paid 7 times for checks and repairs? You said you took the phone to a Samsung Service Centre so therefore repairs should themselves be covered. So no need to pay repeatedly if phone has not been fixed. 7 times!

  • I agree it’s a great phone....unfortunately I got it from Dubai and the local Samsung centre doesn’t want to honor warranty. 😔 I have been paying for the checks and repair attempts.......now 7 times and would like to cut my losses...

  • If you bought it new then it is still under warranty. You should either receive a replacement phone or have it repaired. Alternatively it is not a genuine Samsung and you have bought a cheap copy. I have had mine for almost 2 years now and no problems whatsoever. It's a great phone in every way.

  • the best phone very good performance Galaxy S8 is awesome from 2019

  • ok...

  • I'm not taking it personally at all. I'm neither happy or unhappy about your post but I find your claim very suspicious if I'm honest. You have a phone that you bought less than a year a go that is still within the warranty period and just by coincidence 3 of your colleagues that have the same issue too. And none of you have been able to get the problem fixed and you have have given up and said "ahhh well that's $500 down the drain" I visit many sites and forums and come face to face with people that have issues with their phones and from what you have said, quite frankly, something just isn't ringing true here. Don't take it personally :)

  • Gave up on the phone. By the time I have finished this reply....it has restarted twice 😩

  • Don’t take it personally...it’s a personal opinion!.It is not supposed to make you happy 1. My colleagues didn’t have any luck with their phones either 2. Check the internet....you know how to google

  • Have you taken (or will you take) your S8 back to the Samsung Service Centre?

  • So, 3 of your colleagues have similar issues. How did they get on at the Samsung Care Centre? Can you please provide sources to back up your claim of this "famous" restarts issue?

  • Kind advice for those people considering to buy this device. Keep away. Just keep away.....bought this phone last year September....worked exceptionally...gorgeous screen, very fast, good reception....then it started the famous restarts issue with unresponsiveness at time.. Took it to the Samsung care centre so far nothing has changed..the device restarts even during calls. In less than a year my USD 500 has gone down the drain. Have 3 colleagues with similar issues...

  • This phone saved over twenty people in a capcised boat in the Philippines due to its water proof and GPS location features

  • I had a look (searched - pubg mobile sound problem) to see if sound issues were widespread and if the issues were only restricted to the S8. Many people are reporting similar issues with the game when playing on many mobile phones so the problem is not restricted to the S8.

  • My s8 heats up when i play Pubg on it. And sound quality in Pubg is very poor in this phone but overall sound is good. I don't know how i can enhance Pubg sound on this device.

  • It doesn't. Sure you may find the odd case here and there but many of the users will have used their phones in a unconventional way e.g doing something on the phone that would be considered excessive In the large scheme of things and considering the amount of units sold there is nothing alarming about discovery that a very small minority of users will develop issues over time and that is no different from any other manufacturer out there to be fair. And just to add that if defects occur within warranty period Samsung should address.

  • why does this phone have such a problem with burn images?

  • i have a issue..........1080 60 fps has a poor vedio quality in low light..why?

  • It gives me about 4 to 5 hours SOT with normal usage

  • which model is beet F /W/U

  • Still good for 2019? How's the battery life with Android 9 Pie?

  • got security patch and stable camera update for july

  • Snapdragon version has the chip.

  • S8 Plus! Nice Shout! Back of the Net! BooOM! *I would place a thumbs up emoji thing right here if I was able to *

  • The data sheet above says "No radio". It seems that it does have the chip, which needs to be activated by third party app, like nextradio (it's listed on their web site as a supported device). Not sure if it's available on all versions of the phone.

  • Donot try it, it will damage the phone from being waterproof, water enters into phone through sim card slot

  • looking for a S8 ACTIVE G950U ..all my searches produce just the g892u or regular s8 g950u...non ACTIVE model!.

  • Anyone who used 2 sims plus sd card with s8 using dual sim adapter

  • S8 plus

  • Maybe s8 plus also

  • Contuning the previous message. It did not work but I could c the both sim showing up. Any1 who actually used 2 sim n sd using dual sim adapter. It works fine p10

  • I got s8 and tried to use dual sim adapter to work both sims and SD card it worked half. I put 2 sims and SD card but a message came that something wrong with sim2 something like thus

  • Go with galaxy A50 or above

  • somebody reply to him/her please. I kinda have the same question

  • Sorry to be pedantic but it's a Super AMOLED display and yes it is expensive but I suppose the price here does include a battery and the phone will have the IP68 protection, which I do value. But YES expensive. Unfortunately the warranty does not cover the Customer for damage caused by dropping the phone. Unless of course you have separate cover, e.g household insurance or if a screen replacement was offered at point of sale as a promo etc

  • The repair for LCD screen is very costly here in the Philippines. It would take 1 whole month for it to be repaired as well. There are few Samsung Centers here. Is dropping the phone covered by the warranty?

  • Used this phone since 2018, Love it's performance so far. Try it out

  • I see a lot of comments talking about the A30; right now on forums the big debate is the S8 or the A50. If you look at selling sites like Amazon or Swappa a mint/new unlocked S8 sells for around 250-300 USD, and an unlocked A50 is within that same price range. Gonna come down to what you use your phone for but I'm looking hard at the A50 right now.

  • android q is not released yet

  • Replace battery.

  • A30

  • Yes but it's going to cost you obviously. In the UK Samsung charge £219, which also includes a free battery replacement, the repair itself should not take long and you should be able to pick the phone back up after a couple of hours. Parts will be guaranteed genuine and will come with warranty also repair your phone will meet IP68 water/dust resistance standard.

  • Hi. I dropped my s8 and the screen cracked. Is there a way to replace this? It is functional. it dropped about 1meter above ground.

  • Try to replace battery.

  • change to s8

  • A30 it is not the good choice to switch from S7. Better pay attention to A50, or even A70.

  • S8 for sure, great phone

  • Pls am using s7 plan to change to s8 or a30

  • S8 or A70? Which is good?

  • Galaxy S8 is a very good phone but last update is android pie :( i wish recieve android Q

  • S8 and a70 read comparision you know that s8 is the best Flagship. At Time I Use S8.

  • The S8 is the better phone imo BUT it was release in 2017 and has had its last major update (PIE) so I would seriously take that into account.

  • is galaxy s8 better than mi 9 se

  • Galaxy S8 is the best choice

  • Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018)?

  • Well if the phone still reboots itself in safe mode and after trying all that you have done (factory reset, flashing firmware etc) then I can only advise you to take it to a store. One other thing to try is to remove the micro SD card (if you have one) and see if the problem still persists without the MicroSD card in place.

  • have installed via odin...stock android 9 and android 8.0 with same reboots rooted the phone and installed revonate ice custom rom with the same reboots have done countless factory resets, complete wipes...same results

  • yes infact it is very unstable in safe mode

  • Does it still reboot in safe mode?

  • have tried reinstall the firmware via odin..still having the reboots. have even rooted and installed custom rom..still having the same issue

  • Take to store or try reinstalling firmware via Odin

  • Hi guys, after the May security update, my phone auto restarts after every 5 minutes...have tried everything I know including a factory reset in vain. Help..

  • Perhaps they learned something from the note 7 and did not want any hint of a repeat, so they were perhaps being overly cautious. I remember reading an article that the R&D guy at Samsung told CNET that the battery in the S8 would degrade far less over a 2 year period than an S7 for example.

  • is your battery draining fast? what app or what can I do to utilize my battery. I am in power saving mode most of the time.

  • its just 4 months old so dont know about past bt wher i charged my mobile temp ther reachess 45 deg.. so may be thts the problem

  • Makes sense. But, temperature never rised before, why now?

  • Cool. My bad.

  • Apparently when the battery temp shoots up the phone stops charging.. Samsung's reply on this issue : This mail is in regard to your Samsung handset S8. • cant wait june update :)

  • its working thankz..

  • S8 is not 32 GB, but 64 GB... S9 is also 64 GB, and S10 is 128 GB S11 hopefully will be 256 GB, so no need for memory card anymore.

  • Hope it works out :)

  • Yes it is old. I dont dispute that some users experience experience issues but to use the word "most" is an absolute travesty and nothing more than a full apology should suffice.

  • S8 or iPhone 7.which one is best? Confused...

  • i have done a factory reset yesterday ...and have charged..the device dint face tht sort of problem now ...will check once more....if tht problem doesnt occours again thn factory reset would be f9...

  • S8

  • Sorry this is old. But if you actually search samsumg members app community, there has been a lot of complaints regarding s8 charging really slow after the may security patch. And it resolves if you pull out the charger and plug in again. It starts fast charging. If the phone is still under use, it stops i think.

  •

  • S8 bro its much better than iphone 6s+

  • Apple 6s plus 128GB / Galaxy S8 32 GB

  • I know it's a bit of a pain but the fact that it happened after factory reset I would certainly be concerned but Suraj is suggesting that the problem is widespread and that "most" users are affected after downloading the May Security patch although I have not seen any evidence of what Suraj claims. I await Suraj's reply. Hope you get it sorted soon.

  • "Most" are affected with the issues described by 'strangerz' after downloading the May update? Can you please post a link to confirm. Thanks.

  • May security patch update bug. Most are affected

  • thankz ...hmmm was thinking of doin wat u sugested...thnkz agn

  • If you have tried a factory reset and the same thing is still happening then I would definitely go along to a store and get the phone checked out as you are well within your warranty period.

  • After update to 9.0 my s8 is having problems in charging... Between 75-85 it will stuck and would not charge for hours... Ie at 78 percent it will get stuck and wouldn't charge to higher percent for hours. If I remove remove the charger and then contact again then it will charge again... My phone is just month old. What should I do now??? I have tried hard reset but did not work. Also it is to note that sometime it would charge fine and if I charge having with phone off then it would also charge fine..if any 1 can help it will be appreciated thankz

  • I didnt update to pie because Pie OS restricts call recording.. in general I don't update any OS in a smartphone..

  • For s8 alsoAfter pie update only hdmi is enough for dex. Please verify

  • Battery sucks

  • really guys,, S8 is an ideal smartphone.. this verdict is after 2 years of usage of this smartphone.. you feel sometimes teased to use its dex mode replacing pc.. but what you feel hurt is that when you think changing all your work to a smartphone you need a bulk of gadgets like wireless keyboard mouse dex station (note 9 has only hdmi and usb type c for dex) and also you need hard disk external wireless and a monitor and office 356 subscription ( you can use the free version of office in your smartpone but it is not like a full pc) anyway life is getting better with smartphone world but for the moment you cant replace desktop with a s8 completely.. just an opinion to share it with the world.. thanks

  • yes! May security update is awesome

  • got may security patch yesterday...and some thing for camera ...update is of 624 mb...

  • completely discharge it till the point where ur set stops gettin switch on...and then charge it for 10 to 12 hours continously without switching on....it will solve ur battery problem...

  • the battery of my s8 holds 5-6 hours SOT but as soon as I get to 30% the battery is discharging very quickly, there is a problem of calibration, what should I do?

  • My apologies:)

  • its HDR 10, Supports 10 bit

  • I love s8

  • 8 bit.

  • Galaxy S8 is support 10bit color or not support ???

  • I am a heavy user, I rely on it in making heavy calls and reading much and using whats app anyway battery is good 7 hours heavy use to reach 20 % but also it is fast charging so it is perfect

  • Have you tried with a factory reset?

  • I'm easily getting around 3.5-4 hours of SoT and can go almost 2 days on a single charge on moderated use and about a day on heavy use

  • If there are any heavy s8 users out there I would like to know how good the battery is...

  • this phone supports you as a person

  • I own an S8 for a couple of years now it's by far amazing and the android Pie really made everything much better and I didn't feel any bad thing about it and I have no regrets

  • this phone support 10bit color?

  • this phone support or no? HDR10 10bit color

  • Mine does the same battery and blurry

  • thank you for the advice but I occasionally swim with it for taking fun photos and marine life screen shots anyway it is a great device to rely on..

  • NO, PIE is the last

  • Does anyone know Galaxy S8 whether will receive the new Android Q???

  • Nah, it's not as fast but it does give you a solution. Bu the way and you probably know this but if you do constantly get your phone wet (you said you take your S8 swimming) then beware that of what is in the water E.g Salt, chlorine etc as over a period of time if not regularly cleaned, could lead to corrosion.

  • sincerely.. don't update..

  • Today 18th May I received an update of 673.60mb here in Pakistan.. which tells particularly camera stability and 1st April security patch level etc. But I have already 1st April security patch installed in my S8 ... so guys kindly guide me should I update it or not ?

  • do you find wireless charging as fast as normal fast charge with slot? anyway it is not a big deal just continuing enjoying this device.. otherwise I am seeing that there are many comments here about the overheat and battery problems, really I dont find any of these, why is this kind of comments..

  • same with me overheat and comparatively poor battery which will die by evening when used continuosly. I even thought its short circuit but was relieved that s8 gets heated up and poor battery is a disadvantage of s8 in many youtube reviews . so its ok when s8 overheats and battery dies by eve becoz its common for all s8 ...apart these 2 bads... on all other fields s8 is king

  • battery very poor

  • Heyo guyz!! My galaxy s8 tends to overheat what is the problem?? Somebody to help!!! Pleaseee

  • Hi guys! My battery don't last a day even in stand by mode. And the rear camera gets blurry. Need to shake it first before I can use it smoothly. How to correct these issues?

  • Around 200-250$ (and they change both screen and touch can't change each one on its own). Its price is a bit high because its screen is super AMOLED

  • Instead of sticking a wire into a wet socket after swimming with your S8 and expecting it to work. Why not take advantage of the S8's wireless charging or simply charge the phone up fully before taking your S8 swimming so that you can allow the port plenty of time to dry out before having to recharge the phone again.

  • it is water resistant, but the problem when I finish swimming with it, the charge slot always tell me it is wet and need to dry before connecting the changer

  • It is glass! (toughened) Cost varies from country to country but if you go to an official Samsung outlet then replacement of the glass although expensive (£200 UK) should include a 'free' battery replacement and you will also have peace of mind that repairs come with a warranty and the phone will still have a water/dust resistant IP68 rating.

  • S8 display is broken...its looks like glass ...how much will it cast of changing

  • I upgraded to the latest software of April and noticed that my phone screen no longer goes off when I place the phone on my ear for call. I also observed that proximity sensor which actually controls it (makes screen go off when placed on the ear) not working anymore.  I use an S8 flip cover that automatically lights up the screen once you open flip. It stopped working.  Pls can someone suggest a solution to this. I'm bored about this. Samsung pls be fast corrective May software update that will take care of these complains.

  • About 4hrs

  • Battery life on s8 is terrible

  • I have Huawei p10 now I plan to buy Samsung s8. I need to know that how's battery life of s8, like for example my p10 gives me almost over 7 hrs continuously with 4g on. How much will be s8 giving the time on 4g.

  • I updated recently to the latest software update of Security patch and I recently observed that the phone proximity sensor iwas no longer work. Pls hw

  • Hi guys! My battery don't last a day even in stand by mode. And the rear camera gets blurry. Need to shake it first before I can use it smoothly. How to correct these issues?

  • thanks for your reply. i am also thinking to buy s8 only.

  • better stay with s8 bro or s9 you can also find it second hand dont go for realme its not the best choice, plus samsung is samsung bro and its a flagship.

  • Do u mean popup view? Its working fine. Go to recent apps, then touch the app icon at top of app card and select popup view

  • Anyway which one is the best music player for s8 / s8 plus ?

  • Android pie brought dolby atoms support for s8 & s8 plus.. Enjoy guys....

  • Better go for realme 3 pro or some other mobile. This will not last for another 2 yrs

  • After update pie multi window not working, please help anyone

  • thanks for reply. just now using samsung s5 from november 2015. it started to laging and hanging sometimes, and battery backup is also getting poor. but i love the camera clearity in image & video. so thinking to stay with samsung flagship phone. do u have or used honor 8x? how is image & video clarity compare to samsung device.?

  • You should better go with Honor 8X because S8 won't be competitive enough after sometime and also in terms of battery, it's not really good as it is only 3000 mAh.

  • i m from india. getting this device in rs.18000/- second hand and in working condition. is it ok to go with this deal..? can anyone suggest? i will not buy any other device upto 4-5 years after getting this device. or should i go with any other latest mid ranger cell. my budget is only rs.20000/-. thanks

  • received samsung s8 security patch for april 2019 file size near about 432 mb

  • It may be display or camera refreshing, dont mind it will not reflect in videos or photos

  • very good phone can run roblox at 60fps 4k

  • breo download nice lock from play stoe ur problem will be solved

  • offcorse yess... great device no lags working flawlessly....

  • s8 camera is superb

  • Depends what you mean by suitable. It's still a quality product.

  • I plan to buy this gadget Now...is it still suitable...?

  • It depends how long you tend to keep your phones for. I say that because the S8 has just recieved PIE which will be the last OS update also security updates will wind down eventually too. I dont know how long the A's are supported for. So worth checking out. The S8 are absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the phone to you but it's only fair that I draw your attention as you may not of taken this into account.

  • do you think it would be better to get S8 over 2019 A series. I know the specs and more. i only wanna know if it is wise to get S8 which is 2017 OLD but still GOLD device. it at least gives us everything we expect from a phone . i wanna know your ideas about it .thanks a bunch.

  • hey after the pie update anyone getting a camera issue where the camera display of the to be pic is moving like rows or columns ?

  • bro its ther only when u typ goodlock in galaxy app store search bar two options will show..one is popular in left side and other is more on rite side clic on more and on top u will find goodlock

  • so true....its one of the best devices still available.....working flawlessly...still a great camera plus other features...and its better than most of the midrangers....

  • bro when u will write good lock in search bar two options will open one is popular one and other is more one click on more one and u will find goodlock on top

  • Are you just making things up? The S8 IS water resistant. It conforms to an international recognised standard and has an IP68 rating.

  • no it doesn't LMAO

  • dispaly is the keypoint camera is nt gud at this price point even redmi a1 have better camera than s8 it vis not water resistent dnt go for swimming wit ur s8

  • Samsung Galaxy s8 has a very bad camera, Galaxy note 4 has better camera than s8

  • It already has call recorder in software you can go dialler setting and on this feature easily.

  • If you like the phone and you believe the current price represents good value for money, then its worth buying. People are still buying 2 years after the launch which in itself indicates that the S8 is still relevant today. The flagship of its day, has not yet, had its day. Still bright days ahead.

  • is it worth to buy in 2019

  • Really nice phone. The best I've ever had so far. But battery needs a little improvement.

  • Does anyone get the moisture detection in the sub po

  • I was also concerned and held off updating for a week. I have now updated 2 weeks ago and all good. Battery life may have improved a little but is certainly no worse.

  • YES

  • Hi! I d like to know if its compatible to use it in Argentina? Thanks

  • This thread may help.

  • Go for, you won't regret.

  • Hey i want some strong opinions I didnt update s8 because of fear of battery drain issues. But now i think i might update only i heard pie saves battery than oreo. My s8 is one and half year old and i use mostly on mobile data and so battery isnt really great coupled with my usage. My major concern is battery life, so if you feel i am safe with updating please let me know. Also any tips with conserving battery life will be much appreciated. Thanks

  • I am from India and got update long back, if you bought your phone from other country then you may not receive update, if its indian varient then you must receive update, check software update again with wifi connection

  • When did you get the update. Mine is still running on 8.0.0, from india aswell.

  • I didn't get any update on my device. I'm from India. Does anyone have the same issue? Can anyone tell me like how long it will take. Current version is 8.0.0

  • Is it still good to buy S8 after 2 years? I was thinking about this S8 or maybe A50 or A70?

  • When my s8 update android pie. My tikwatch 2 don't show caller name. Any body help me how we solve this problem. Please confirm details.

  • C'mon, people from all over the world come to this site. Surely the price would depend on which country you are buying the S8? Think about it! You already stated that you are "Student here looking for budget phone" do you not have any idea of the price? You stated "budget" so I asume you have some idea of the price range. If NOT Why not simply search on Google (or a search engine of your choice) And have a look on the net at the prices.

  • My Samsung s8 screen burn in problem.navigation bar side screen color changed plz give solutions

  • How much does it cost now?

  • For anyone who didn't see this article.

  • That is quite normal for Samsung although I did get the March update earlier than normal.

  • Yeah and no follow up pie update to remove bugs.

  • No...march security path...update...till now...and today is 30 march 2019...

  • Absolutely! Great phone.

  • yess, very good phone and up to date

  • Still good for 2019? Student here looking for budget phone..

  • i have the same issue and its not in galaxy store

  • bro go to samsung galaxy apps n write good lock nd u will find ur app ther...

  • Hi, sir. Did anyone of u guys hv face fingerprint scanner pro coz mine S8 hv fingerprint scanner pro. I don't know how to explain but I try to explain. Like some time when I on my screen with fingerprint scanner than my screen will hang and flash a sec only on but sometimes no. It is system problem and when my wechat also hv pro. When I on my wechat it will delay me for a sec. Why like this??

  • My double spacing was on Oreo. I received the Pie update more than a week ago but was too nervous to download it. Anyway I finally got the nerve to download it a couple of days ago and I'm quite satisfied. The double spacing issue may have resolved itself although still too early to tell. Everything else seems fine and home screen apps are brighter and more colourful. Speed seems very good and battery life either the same as before or perhaps a little better.

  • Niggles here and there as usual. Its always best to avoid downloading any OS update straight away until all the people that have no patience have downloaded it first and Beta tested the allegedly 'stable' version for you. Just wait for the next update (shouldn't be too long) to iron out some of the niggles. In the meantime practice a big smug look on your face in front of the mirror and when someone says "Oh, I dont like X about PIE" or "I dont like that about PIE" well you can now pull a big smug face and revel in the fact that you held back from downloading when many others could not hold back. ....they HAD to have it!!! And they had to have it yesterday!!! Oh, and practise a big heart well satisfied laugh and alternate between laughing and pulling smug faces until the next update arrives. Happy days!

  • Well got myself a new phone. The note 9. My beloved s8 fell from about 8m (I work in elevators so height is an issue). Was destroyed. So note 9. After 5 updates also android pie. Doublespace issue same here. Something with pie I think.

  • Android Pie India update for S8 Received OTA pie update After update, battery appears to be marginally better Keyboard has numbers panel always visible Keyboard has lost word memory Other than that there are no issues. UI looks better. Built in dark theme is awesome.

  • New update good or bad?

  • It depends on your taste for color. I find the black (my choice) to resemble like the iphone 7 versions of the "Jet Black" (smudges are easier to spot and scratches as well). But the other colors are brighter and light on smudges. **Get a case/skin/screen protector because that phone is all glass be careful **

  • I also get double spacing sometimes in the middle of a word. Thought it was my bad one finger typing or just thick fingers. Looks like others may have similar issues.

  • Which colour is best?

  • Same here sound is worse. Also double space when I type in between every word. A bit annoying. And for some reason I make much more mistakes when typing. They changed something on the keyboard, someone an idea? Is already on max size.

  • Hello I wanted to ask something. I get new update few days ago and I saw some bad coments about new update and some problems that people have so i wonder what should I do update it or not? What is your experience is it good or is it better to stay with oreo?

  • Why I am not getting the good lock 2019 on my S8 plus One UI 1.0 Android version 9.0.... I tried it from apk mirror that also didn't helped.. Tried with vpn tooo.... Someone help plz

  • Yes even I am facing same issue, I tried different apps, some apps won't work at all, and some othe apps record only one aide conversation, i.e it records my voice only, it won't record oyher person's voice

  • I was using Autocall Recorder on my S8. After PIE, I am unable to install the software. Is there any solution to use Auto Call Recorder at version 9. (PIE) Thanks

  • Does anyone got sound issue when update to android pie? After update to android pie, my s8 sound goes up and down intermitently every 5 second. It happen when i watch video, listening to music and youtube. Anyone face the same problem after update?

  • Why should you do what you have said? I know you said calibration but what exactly do you mean by that. I'm not doubting you, it's just that there is conflicting advise about what is best practice. I know years ago, the advice was to let the battery drain and then recharge but I did that and was told "no dont do that its harmful to the type of battery used in the S8 to let it drain to 0%" ? Would be grateful if you could clarify with sources to back up the claims if possible as this would be helpful to many people I would imagine. It's just very confusing. By the way I have not done a factory reset after installing PIE and have not seen any issues. Some say the battery is worse, some say it's better and some say it's about the same.

  • I guess there are some days when you just can't win. Shame.

  • For 1,5 year I still am proud owner of S8. And I'll be that little more time (maybe even a year). With Android Pie S8 got new breathe of life. It is still very comfortable one-handed gadget, with phenomenal display, great camera, fine sound, decent battery time, fast charging, waterproof, USB-c and still capable CPU with enough memory. New S10 is not worthy such money. It is no more than S8/9 with bigger display and smaller bezels.

  • ALWAYS do the reset after flashing new OS. And always do discharge battery to 0% and then to 100%. Recalibration (resetting software meter actually).

  • No, Mi8 don't have better camera than S8.

  • Thanks for sharing your findings. Really interesting results.

  • I did a video loop test full screen brightness and full volume through headphones got 9.5hrs. it does not matter about any other parameters because I did exactly the same test BUT after Pie update. I got 7hrs 15 minutes on Pie? So I factory reset the device which was a pain signing into things and setting it all up (something I enjoyed in the past) and got 9.hrs 5 minutes on same parameter video loop test. I was always told to factory reset after major update and this may have proved true.I cannot give a valid reason why this happened or prove it but maybe could help other people.

  • I agree but some kind of protection on the screen is always welcome. I used some kind of protection like you said and one little pebble of sand came in between. Result was 3 big scratches on the glass. So be carefull with what is in your pockets.

  • I'd go for the Mi 8 if the price is the same. Newer SoC and supports 4k at 60fps

  • HI all,, i have got my Samsung S8 update to Android PIE on 12th MArch 2019 in Lahore Pakistan, Now i am using and enjoying Pie Fetures

  • In that case you should consider a decent folding cover to protect your phone. Then you won't need a screen protector. Good luck.

  • Hye guys I went to is mi 8 is better than s+ by camera.....I really went to bye a device but I can't set my mind which device should I buy......can I go for mi 8 instead of s8+...the price of two device are same...

  • Hii here A really big fan of samsung phones Im thinkinq of qettinq the s8 in mbk thailand Does anyone know how much it'll cost right now🙏❤️

  • so many flaws in new update of S8.. Hope for the resolve.

  • Fantastique!

  • It's a fantastic phone, still great nearly 2 years after release. BUT If you are buying 2nd hand then BUYER BEWARE because the battery is sealed in and may of been recharged a thousand times since the phone was originally bought. Batteries will degrade over time, so take that into account when buying 2nd hand. Also check the phone for any screen any issues. The IP rating may also be a concern. If you are going to buy 2nd hand, then just be cautious, that is my advise. Dont start moaning if your battery is not performing as well as q brand new s8.

  • You are more that welcome Jackyboi, take care :)

  • New updates for S8 in UAE.. Hated it.. why Samsung is trying to copy iphone?? So many Bugs... If the same update is there..i wont be buying Samsung ever...

  • Just received the Pie update for my S8 in France...Great.

  • U too. If anything problem about S8 I will still come back n look for u guys. U guys r kind too

  • Oh, l see. Thanks sir. I put thick protector coz afraid when I drop it and it get break easily

  • i want to buy this phone from a second hand seller opinion about the phone?

  • Hi there,I'm using galaxy s8 SM-G950U US Unlocked version, but can't use 2G network for sending SMS and make normal calls, but do better when on EDGE,3G and H+ I'm from Africa,Tanzania

  • You should not need to press the screen hard. You should only need to touch the screen. Perhaps by pressing too hard you are actually causing minor damage to the screen. If your screen protector is so thick that the screen will not react to your touch then perhaps you should consider a thinner protector.

  • Thank you for being so polite, that's always a nice thing to see, take care :)

  • OK, thks sir for helping and explain to me wat is the problem and solve the problem

  • Update on the new 2019 galaxy s8 features really suck. Samsung can do better than that. Previous features were even more nicer

  • I've never heard of a screen protector causing issues with screen burn in, if that's what you are saying. I've never heard about a connection?

  • It could be image retention, which is when you can see faint image on the screen for a short period e.g if you use the keyboard for a very long time. Then the image fades away. Or it could be burn in which will have a long lasting effect. There are Apps that 'claim' that they can 'fix' burn in issues BUT I have never tried them and I do not endorse them. I've never had issues with burn in, on this phone or any other OLED screen.

  • Sir, it is press the screen to hard also will affect coz my S8 protector also quite thick

  • I was so frustrated about battery life on android 9 that I force downgraded (unlocked the bootloader) to android 8 and now I can't believe it, it's like a different phone! in 40 minutes of heavy setup installing 80 apps it drained about 9% battery with location and high performane mode and sync on AND maximum brightness! On one ui it would have been at 60% (thank god if it would have had been at that percent!) Guys if you have the same issue, don't hesitate to downgrade with odin! (don't forget to enable oem unlock and usb debugging and flash csc, not home csc to be sure it will work fine!) Back up all your data and you're good to go! Also now speaker sounds great not quiet and muffled. Extra volume is back! I miss the Dolby Atmos, but it is a gimmick anyway, all it does is to boost the volume upto limit, limit that is from default at the max possible on oreo!

  • Sir, my S8 screen is burn but not that serious. Its burn is just like can see a blur keyboard alphabet on it. Now I still can't figure it out wat is the problem

  • Edit last post should read * The S8 has a fantastic screen, *buy with total confidence new. If you are buying 2nd hand then BUYER BEWARE!!!! (also battery)

  • Never had screen burn in, as someone has already said, I too have the screen set at about 50%ish most of the time, the facts are that it is a rare occurrence, compared to all the screens out there it's a drop in the ocean, the people that have any issue with screen burn in. The S8 has a fantastic screen, but with total confidence new. If you are buying 2nd hand then BUYER BEWARE!!!! (also battery) But hey, If you do something to excess, expect consequences, e.g if you are playing the same game constantly hour after hour after hou r with the screen pumped.up.to the max, then don't be surprised if the area where the score appears on the screen can still be seen afterwards

  • Battery is just average

  • The previous owner probably always used it on maximum brightness. Almost all people who always use their phone on maximum brightness have burn in. My S6 which is now about 4 years old doesn't have burn in because I never used maximum brightness except under sunlight. Always kept brightness under 40%

  • Pie release for india?? There's a security patch update notification but i dont to waste another half gb for this.. Do I need to install this update to get pie notification..??

  • Hi, I m new S8 user from Malaysia but I use second hand S8 .May I ask did u guys S8 screen get burn coz mine S8 screen get burn for don't know wat is the reason

  • how good is the battery life in 2019

  • Now if you had ended what you have said by adding "the drinks are all on me!" I would of been a little bit more excited upon reading the news. :D Glad you got the update, hope you enjoy it.

  • update is now 00available on my S8 (Philippines)

  • Guys I'm from India and my galaxy s8 is around 1.5 years old but using mostly on mobile data has made battery little weak and lasts shorter than usual. Keeping battery and smoothness with functions intact should I update to pie?

  • Please some let me know should i go for Samsung Galaxy S8 or Huawei Nova 3?

  • Battery performance very good as well as oreos. There not much difference between oreos and new update pie. Brother you have to update your mobile. I am sure you are not disappointed of pie. Thanks.

  • I downloaded yesterday, the phone feels fresh. Does take a little while to get used to the change as with anything new but after a short time I was thinking 'Yeah, I like this'

  • U lose just about 30 minutes or less screen on time, but One Ui is much faster. The phone feels new

  • Just got one, the charging function seems off. Most of the time it won't fast charge and it won't charge at all while on before I reboot the phone.

  • After updating how's the battery performs compare to oreo?

  • I updated pie one ui my Samsung Galaxy s8. I am very satisfied with update. There's no problem in my mobile. Many people gaven in review mobile battery drain but in my mobile there's no problem. My mobile run very fast and look good and I love new update pie. I am from Gujarat. Samsung Galaxy s8 very good. I give you my suggestion every people download of your mobile new update pie one ui.

  • Better update, without it you cant get any future updates like security patches

  • I’m on the Ferbruary security patch but I still don’t have AR Emoji or super slow motion

  • Just seems a bit strange, that is a long time, October! Have you tried updating it manually going through settings? (Sorry I don't mean to come across as patronising, if you are sitting there thinking thinking duh, of course I have tried that :D Where are you and what carrier do you use?

  • I dont know, im on stock rom, no root, stock everything.

  • Should i update my s8 to one ui android pie or not??..

  • Ouch! October 2018, WoW. Is there a particular reason why you have not had a more recent update than that?

  • I am on october 1 2018 security patch level, SM-G950F

  • Go for s8 better overall ..s8 is my daily driver and it has incredible bat lifr after one ui update feels like i am having a 3500 mah beast phone😁

  • Updated to pie and reset factory after and the battery life was beast 😁no need to upgrade😁better battery life and better user experience no flaws encountered as of now😁

  • Still not received update

  • Before trying a factory reset. I would try cleaning cache partition first. I would now allow a few days of use and several recharges before I resorted to performing a factory reset if you are still not happy.

  • after updating the battery is worse...

  • February patch? Wow, some of us can only dream of having the February patch! Lucky you hahaha :D I'm still on January 1st and I know other people that still have the December patch. It shouldn't be too long now :)

  • I got the update in Slovenia today.

  • Just update my s8 to pie and for now i love new android 9. Phone work better with new update for now.

  • I'm from Turkey, updated to Pie & One UI, on feb 28th. Shortly one of the best Samsungs i've ever used ( by now) My all times favorites were Wave s3, and G810.

  • To day i received patch February 2019. To my utter surprise not pie update in pakistan model 950 G-U1

  • There are many other people around the world that have not received the update yet. It depends on the region, CSC code, even your carrier... The update is not released to everyone at the same time! Patience is needed or if you really can't wait then and you feel confident enough then download the firmware and do it yourself.

  • why still no update with my galaxy s8, I'm from Philippines.

  • Yeah, have to agree. Great phone and like you, I used to change phone at least once a year but feel no need to rush out and buy the latest thing now. Had for nearly 2 years and still feels great :D very happy.

  • That's the approach I would certainly take.

  • S8 ❤my favorite Used sooo manyyy phoness but this one is thee best I'm still using it and dont even feel the need to upgrade( i wish the bettery life was a lil better but oh well)

  • Best solution! Thanks a lot m8!! :)

  • Clear dust

  • No update i Albania yet😡

  • It is better to have backup before update

  • go for mi8 brother

  • After a few days I realized that extra volume button during calls is completely missing, and sound so low I have to use the speaker instead. Does anyone has the same issue?

  • s8 is better. because i already used that phone.

  • I cant really decide.please suggest me Which one should I go for mi8 or galaxy s8?

  • Agreed

  • Updated in India, battery life has become worse.

  • I have factory reseted since android 8 update, now with android 9 as well, and guess what, it's slightly better, almost the same!.I have patience and I know samsung will fix this but this should be a warning before every major update, you know... Oh wait ,I forgot that Samsung have released the new 2019 lineup, my bad... And NO the bixby button cannot be deactivated anymore!!!

  • Thailand just had Pie update. I'm currently updating mine.

  • Dual VoLTE also needs LTE or 4G on both the SIMs so I am not sure what are you not clear about. If the underlying H/W does not support dual 4G/LTE, how will this be achieved? Correct me if I am wrong.

  • Guess you had very high expectations, mate. I wonder where else can you find One UI like interface.

  • Using caps to post your opinion can be offensive. This flagship was for 2017 if you see. Have you tried to reset your phone after taking a backup first?

  • ATTENTION!!! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE UPDATING TO ONE UI!!!! I have been using the samsung galaxy s8 since last year and on android 7 the battery was like a bit below average (even mediocre at standby times!) When I updated to android 8 the battery was soooo good at least double the performance!!! (Forgot about the charger and power saves in most areas!). Yesterday I got the android pie update (1611mb) and I got dolby atmos (on cable/bluethooth speakers and headphones),classic surround is gone. It now has the ugly s9 camera interface (apple style, WHY!?) And basically most things from the bigger brothers. But I noticed one thing... Battery life is EVEN WORSE than ANDROID 7 !!!! Samsung please release a goddamn fix as fast as possible!! It's unacceptable from a phone of the year samsung! You treated us like kings with s8, bringing super slow mo, AR emoji and bokeh (selective focus) on this beauty, and now you come up with this piece of junk!? DO NOT UPDATE UNTIL MARCH SECURITY PATCH!!! I REPEAT! DO NOT UPDATE GUYS!

  • Nothing much exiting in one ui, except you are getting android pie version

  • Ya, its ok but they did remove 4g only option from network setting, and I am asking for simultaneously 4g on both sims, not volte

  • Hi guys! What to do on the heating issue and battery get drained so fast when using mobile data? Is there any way to bring back the battery life?

  • Could you elaborate, please?

  • I am disappointed with that too but what can be done for the lack of H/W to support Dual VoLTE? For e.g. do you know any SD835 device which supports Dual VoLTE? Other than that, what else can a consumer do? There is no point to complain as, at the end of the day, a flagship doesn't remain a flagship for life. Now there is a Dual VoLTE supported phone at every price point and OEM will find one way or the other to force us to upgrade. That's business, unfortunately.

  • just updated my samsung s8 to android pie one ui edition

  • yes you can

  • Is backup is really required

  • S8 in India getting Android 9 (Pie) update. I am loving it Thanks Sammy

  • Sir can i use jio sim in galaxy s8 bought from uae souq. Can i make call its says on souq that galaxy s8 is 4G LTE, can i make call without jio4gvoice.

  • anyone has any issue on wifi. I mean, I can't seem to find how to connect to wifi 2.4ghz. it's not showing APs with 2.4ghz ssid

  • anyone has any issue on wifi. I mean, I can't seem to find how to connect to wifi 2.4ghz. it's not showing APs with 2.4ghz ssid

  • Got pie update in Romania today

  • Got pie update in dubai !!!

  • Can't wait to get the PIE update!!!

  • There is no digital wellbeing on one ui or it is only on stock androids?

  • WOahh.,. still same no UI

  • Will leave link, it relates to the PIE update. List of countries where users have reported that they have received PIE. (

  • Atleast they should provide 4g on both sim, also they are forcing to use volte in internet sim card, but it should be optional, and they should give 4g only option

  • And it is confirmed. No Dual VoLTE friends. Running stable Android Pie with February patch. Feels weird that my dad's A6 has this on 2-3 year old SoC but S8 doesn't get it. Never mind as I have iPhone 7 to help. Those picking this up at online sale, please note that this is the best Single SIM VoLTE device in the segment but not Dual SIM in case VoLTE is required. Unmatched performance and features for $400 in India. Hopefully some midrangers in 2019 can match this.

  • LoL so true. Even a Pixel won't satisfy this user. Probably a Xiaomi with weekly updates (I bet changelog will ever be considered)

  • What is so important about an update that makes you check every 30 mins. Are you really so desperate? If your phone is working well just be happy and have patience. There is nothing magic in an update unless you want to show off to your friends.

  • Stable update now live for Beta testers in India. Manually check for Software update. Updating now. 418 MB

  • ALREADY AVAILABLE Germany NOT YET AVAILABLE PolandSpainUKVietnamIndiaAustraliaUSFranceSlovakiaChileColombiaThailandAustriaSouth East EuropeBrazilEgyptCzech RepublicCanadaBosniaIndonesiaMaltaRomaniaItalyNepalSouth AfricaPortugalLatviaSaudi Arabia...... (Source reddit)

  • It's up to you if you want to do that but It would drive me crazy. From past experience it could take longer than you think. It will depend on the region that you are in and if it has been released there and also it may have to go through your carrier first too. The last time (Oreo) there were people that got the update a long time after the first people received the update (days even weeks later I seem to recall) I'm not saying it will be the same this time but I remember what it's been like before.

  • Any one got update in india??

  • Still waiting for security patch/ pie .. checking every 30mins

  • Just in case anyone did not see this. "Samsung promised to extends its One UI on Android Pie program to the 2017 flagships back in January and today it's delivering it to the Galaxy S8. Units across Continental Europe are getting an update to the latest user interface and Android OS"

  • Guys. How is battery after Pie update ??

  • Yes. The SD835 is a very good processor. Even samsung made a SD835 tablet a few months ago.

  • Go with your preference, its value for money, but if you are a gamer and want top processor and huge ram, then don't buy, For daily use, watching movies, videos, normal gaming etc, its a best choice

  • If you are okay with the fact that Pie is the last major OS update and you are entitled to security updates only, it's a deal. Otherwise, the only pros are camera and IP rating which you can't find in the same price range. Other than that, the SoC is old and you can find better hardware specs currently and in the near future. My personal opinion is to wait for newer devices with better configuration or pick one which was launched recently.

  • Is it worth to buy samsung s8 in feb 2019 at 30999 in india?

  • If the price is right then I would seriously consider buying. I would be wary of buying a used S8 though because the battery is sealed and if it was originally bought on day one, then that battery may of been recharged thousands of times. Also it would depend how long you tend to hold onto a phone for because the S8 will receive PIE shortly and then that's it and security updates will be fazed out eventually too. ...so worth taking that into consideration too. If you don't like using a case on your phone and you tend to be very accident prone and drop your phone every now and then, beware. I would highly recommend a case. Very expensive to replace the screen. Sounds like im being negative but just pointing out a few things to consider if you have not done so already. it's still a fantastic phone overall, im very impressed personally with the S8's and if you can pick one up cheap then hey, well worth considering. Also it might be worth holding on just a little bit longer as the S10's will be on sale very soon and those prices may go down even further.

  • Depends on the price in my country the cheapest price is 500$ not worth at this price

  • Nope buy Pocophone same money got much more. I bought S8 in December and I regret it first of all camera is not reallz that good fast focus yes but not enough details and in low light situations very bad photos. But it is not all bad it have beautiful screen and design if camera is not important to you then it is not bad purchase.

  • of course it does

  • Ok thanks for explaining.

  • Is it worth buying S8 now in 2019.. tempted with the price but not sure ...

  • Factory reset it...same scenario with my phone and after have done it,my bat was good as new😊

  • Sorry my fault Scorpio. I don't actually have a problem with the camera. I was replying to 'yoyoyo' and quoting what he or she had said about the camera but I hit the post button before completing the message and I posted a message straight after the post in which you replied and I should of stated that.

  • It's a known fault with the lens. If you tap the lens it will rectify itself.

  • "So samsung doing apple tactics to make us buy s10?" No, I don't subscribe to that and the reason why is that I've had my phone (s8 Plus) since launch day and I know others that have the S8 from day 1 and are not getting these issues. Sure there are people with issues such as yours out there, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the number of units sold. You have to put it all into perspective. Yes the battery will degrade over time, but hey that's batteries for you. I have hand on heart been pleasantly surprised by how well my battery has held up since I got the phone. ...admittedly I don't get as much onscreen time as I did 2 years ago but I never expected to. The S6 for example I could see a really big drop in performance of the battery over time but as I said I don't feel the same about the S8's. I would try 'wipe cache partition' and then if no luck I would do a factory reset.

  • Been one year since i had s8 and now facing battery issues. Drops below 15 and switches off, using mobile data is disastorous. So samsung doing apple tactics to make us buy s10? I really shouldn t have updated my phone. After oct or nov update these issues started when phone was just used for 9 months

  • I''m obviously not of the same opinion as you and I was more than happy (and still am) with the performance of the camera and I seem to recall that at the time of release in 2017 the S8s, got good reviews about the S8's camera and certainly when comparing overall performance, specs etc to other similar phones out there in the market at the time. You are having a moan about the 12 MP camera, surely you knew that before you bought it? Then you are saying that you would not mind "If camera is a little bit out off the body on the phone" but that's not the way the phone was designed......? You knew that, right?

  • Yes smartphone FLAGSHIP cost about 1000 euro at the time. Samsung had 16 mp camera I do not know why they nerf it on just 12 mp it is not enough. Just a little bit of zoom and you see how bad camera is photos smudged and no details. With 16 or 20 mp camera would be much better and it would have more details on photos and it is not astro physics to make. If camera is a little bit out off the body on the phone I do not mind as long as camera is better.

  • Someone who says this has a bad camera has never used a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

  • I had reset it and battery looks amazing again😁

  • Do you not think your 'review' is a bit OTT? Can I remind you it's a smartphone! A smartphone!

  • "Terrible Camera" "So Smudged" "Waist of Money"

  • I am not trolling bro I have S8 and I am really disappointed with low light performance of camera it is soo bad and no details at all over all good side of camera fast focus and terrible side everything else 12 mp not enough.

  • you finally came to the light troll!

  • I had LG G2 and it has better camera than this trash Pocophone way to go

  • Over all not bad phone but battery not soo good and terrible camera I am soo disappointed whit low light level photos soo smudged and no details at all waste off money if you ask me

  • I would try 'wipe cache partician' If still having issues I'd try a factory reset before I considered going to a Service Centre for peace of mind.

  • That wasn't the issue that he/she was raising.

  • I have the same issue since the latest update the battery life goes down so quickly I would say about 1% per 2 minutes or so only playing a 720p video

  • yes it has sd 845 and 4k battery what else? s8 is flagship its premium its quality compare to that cheap sh**t

  • Whoever says watever, , being a user of samsung s series till 2017 , , can say this much that in all samsung sets had battery issues, random auto reboot & sudden app crash, , being pissed off with all these common annoying issues ultimately switched to iphones.

  • I guess samsung wont release official pie until s10 release

  • How can i fix my battery dischrge on s8 from 100 to 16% it is normal but when you reach to 15 dowm ,it wil dischrge quickly until it wil turned off 🤔

  • Hi, I from india and bought new s8 from flipkart for 27.5k, so I thing for a used one 20k is too much. You can buy new s8 by looking at right time with applying suitable offers. Anyhow s8 is good phone

  • 300 seems like a pretty good price for this phone to me, however the 1 week warranty seems a tad sketchy, if possible I would suggest getting one with a 1 or 2 year warranty for a little more depending on for how long are you thinking of using it since you never know why a used phone was returned/traded in/sold, with that being said the odds are that even with the 1 week guarantee it should be fine just make sure it charges properly, the network works, it's got no visible signs of damage/being opened for repair and if it looks fine go for it, 300 really is a pretty good price for such a recent samsung flagship

  • I Think You Should Go For Poco F1 Because It Has Great Hardware Powerfull Snapdragon 845 Chipset 4K Mah Battery And A Great Camera Poco F1 Is Tap Faster Then Galaxy S8

  • The phone is great. The fact that there is not widespread complaints, taking into account the units sold, I hope should reassure you.

  • So it's fixes?

  • Hi friends, need help. I am getting a used S8 for around 20k to 22k (300$) here in India with 1 week shop keeper warranty. I know the battery life won't be great as it's 1 year + used device but still is the phone worth buying at this price or should I go for some new mobile in same price range, like Nokia 7.1 plus or a Poco F1. Let me know your opinions as I need the phone by this weekend. Thanks.

  • "Come on man" bit of an assumption isn't it? Had a quick look, can find people highlighting issues but are from 2017.

  • Everywhere. From Youtube to XDA to Reddit. Come on man.

  • "From what I read" Where did you get this info from, where did you read about any problems? Please provide sources, appreciated :)

  • Uc browser is my default. Had to factory reset my phone after an OS update. Disabled most Google apps. #Smoothest

  • What was wrong with it in the first place. I have an equinox version and it's fine.

  • Hi Friends I Have Question In my galaxy s8 model FD Global in setting - network i have not a VoLTE selection but in galaxy s8 of my friend with my build number of software he have !!! too my other friend have galaxy s9 and he have not this choice sample as me !!!! and other friend with galaxy s8 plus have this choice (VoLTE) in network setting !!!!! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy????????????????

  • No.

  • Is there is any overheating issue in s8.

  • Quick discharge from 15 to zero percent, but why??

  • Absolutely, It's only a few weeks now. Buy the S8 after the release of the S10 if your sole intention was to save a bit of cash. Ideally don't buy on the the day of release either but wait for the price drops and when you see a price that you are happy with then go for it. Great phone. If you have patience (which I don't haha) then I'm more than confident that you will save cash.

  • the best

  • Should i buy samsung s8 now or wait until s10 come out? S8 price is still high rn, I figured when the s10 come out it'll ne cheaper. What do you think?

  • That wasnt related to app permissions.. After an update the problem is solved.

  • Good post. So true :D

  • ikr... thats what they call first world problem

  • Who care about the fingerprint scanner, it is just not centered and very near to the camera lens.

  • Battery backup is good only, but overnight battery discharges fast, i dont have any Idea, have to check

  • Go to app permissions, and give permissions to access microphone

  • Dude there's no comparison. S8 is way better than any Nokia phone in every aspect. If you cn afford then s8 is the way to go.

  • There is no burn in problem unless you have a fake (copy) phone.

  • Not true. My wife has an iphone 8 and I have an s8. She seems to have the occasional niggle with her phone whereas my is always good. Also my screen is far superior to hers. Place both phones side by side and the iphone just looks small and outdated. Performance-wise both are similar.

  • Guys i want to ask you something.. there's a problem with mic with my phone it stops working like snapchat, pubg basically mic stops working on third party apps. But once i restart the phone it works completely fine. What can be the issue guys? Please help.

  • Do the battery issues still pertain even if buying a brand new device? If so, how to extend battery life?

  • Nokia 6.1 Plus or Samsung Galaxy S8? Which has better battery life and performance? Just student looking for a decent phone.

  • Pls wat games can i download

  • Forget about the S8, even the S7 is miles ahead of the over hyped iPhones.

  • I've used a lot of Samsung phones on the past for years like S6 edge+, S7 edge, S8 and currently using the Note 8 and haven't faced any screen burn issues on any of them. They all have been a pleasure to use.

  • What sort of issues does it have?

  • Issues like?

  • It's pretty good. The snapdragon 835 processor is good enough for most games. I play video intensive game and experience almost no lags in performance mode (use game launcher to enable it for games only), and the battery has decent endurance if you enable the normal battery saving mode. I haven't found any major issue with this phone. It's way more price-performance efficient then an iphone 8.

  • Neither S9 nor S10 would be able to defeat this telephone.

  • Yes It's excellent. Just buy it new. Excellent design, screen & camera.

  • save your money for something better, say iphone 8... s8 just has lots of issues.

  • Is this phone still worth this year? I'm a student looking for a decent phone..

  • samsung amoled screens have a burn in problem, and in no way will not fix the problem, I've seen the phone service, many samsung phones with burn in problem !!!!!

  • What..!? why does Samsung make products like this, compared to my Samsung S7 yesterday is Fast Charging still working although only using a Micro USB cable not USB Type C...

  • Better to wait for stable version than beta

  • As of my experience, fast charging is working with Samsung in box Charger only, I tried with oneplus charger but it didn't work. And for fast charging the power output from charger matters. USB port of desktop or laptop has very low output compared to fast charging. So can't expect fast charging while connected to system

  • Galaxy s8

  • In my area honor 10 and S8 both cost same now. Can anyone suggest which one to pick ? I m a moderate user. Thanks in advance.

  • SAMSUNG phone have good specification. The price is reasonable compared to the spec and features. But some spec and features, useless for most users due to battery lifetime and technology used in some region.

  • Samsung phones are too overrated and too overpriced. More advance features are available in other phones at a much cheaper cost, almost one third of the price of a samsung phone

  • already but still like that... is this a software or hardware error? I think conector type c it's broken.... hikss...

  • Ok thanks, appreciate your reply :)

  • Hw to register for pie beta. Im in uae

  • You need to activate the fast charge from settings at device maintenence , then u go battery and u press that 3 dots and advanced and enable fast charging

  • SM-G950FD Why my Phone is not a FastCharging if i connect to port usb type c? When i connect to wireless charging no troubble... & If my phone OFF it's absolutely not Charging (Cable Conected or Wireless Charging) Please a solution...

  • So cool that baltic states countries wont get android 9 pie beta :((

  • No they didn't change the screen. My phone is also out of warranty so they wouldn't change screen for free which is the most expensive part.

  • Well you can try factory reset. But tbh I simply opted to go to service center to get a new battery and factory reset. But you can try factory reset. If problem still persists then you'll have to replace the battery.

  • Anyone else enjoying the surprisingly stable Pie beta? Phone feels so good and zippy!

  • Why my Fast Charging not working if i'm connected by Cable Type C, but still working in Fast Wireless Charger.... And my Phone are Position OFF, Cable Type C connected my Phone is absolutely not Charging??

  • First of all thank you for your answer. I am using the original charger. So factory reset doesn't fix this?

  • See when you got your battery replaced did they replace the screen too? It's just that if you crack your screen then if you go to an Official Samsung service centre or ship they will replace the screen and whilst they replace the screen they also replace the battery too. It's included in the price. Well it is in the UK.

  • I was facing the same problem. I got my battery replaced as it was already 1.5 years old and I am planning to keep it for a longer period, so getting a new battery seemed like a good option to me. Also did the factory reset. Now it is working fine. So now I know I am not the only one who faced this problem. Just a question, are you using the original charger? Because I lost my original charger and bought a new genuine one, but I suspect that the new charger somehow damaged my battery but I am not really sure.

  • One UI for s8 looks stunning. It has given a fresh breath of lyf to my s8. Go for it guys eventhough its in beta.

  • To be honest I also think the same. I had S9 plus and i still prefer s8/s8+ fingerprint placement.

  • seeing as how the Mate has a lower res screen, 1000 more mAh, and ap killing battery optimizer, can't say I am surprised

  • wtf are you talking about?

  • sorry, i haven't had them... I only had a chance to hold them in the hand for some time.... S8 is probably better (especially those 2 aspects), so if you can pay more get it, don't bother the fp position... for me personally, A8 would be enough, but it's fingerprint is hardly distinguishable from it's camera

  • you had both of the phones right? say, does the camera have that much differnce? and the gaming performance. (There surely is but I was wondering, to what extension?)

  • Whoever gave this phone 84hr endurance rating must be joking. Compare this to the endurance rating on my mate 10. The mate 10 absolutely destroys the s8 in battery life.

  • not a popular opinion... but after trying a8 2018, i think i prefer position of s8 fingerprint reader to a8, especially for people holding phone in their left hand as myself

  • Give it to Samsung to get it repaired (you will lose water resistance) or replace it.

  • Forget about the S8 even the S7 beats the crap out of your half eaten "X" fruit.

  • Lol not powerful enough? Your iphone still doesnt hold up to a GALAXY S6 till date. Why are you still posting comments on this certain galaxy s8 page huh. Grow up kid!

  • I aint payin double the price for half the satisfication

  • So the S8 is in your words "not powerful and useless" Compared to what other phones on the market? And You advise me to buy apple, what advantages would that give me? Why did you not recommend a vast array of phones from an extensive list of manufacturers in a highly competitive android market? Why do you just say buy apple which I assume would restrict me to apple products and I.O.S?

  • try restarting you phone if not, shut off your phone hold the power button with the top volume and the bixby button at the same time for 5 seconds, once done it will take you to some different options, click clear catche partition, then restart you phone see if that works if not, factory reset it, if not well something is wrong with the battery:( i hope that helps

  • the S8 is bad its not powerful and useless yes it may have a good battery but the rest is bad dont buy it buy apple

  • You will save a bit of battery time if you are using a black theme as opposed to white sure, but it might be minimal as it depends what you are using the phone for during the day. If you are using lots of apps for example the theme colour will not have any impact on battery consumption because you are using the app. And the theme no matter the colour is not in use when using the majority of apps. Very hard question to answer without doing scientific tests and each and everyone of us uses the phone differently anyway so if someone posted they get 4 hours and then someone said 6 hours and another 5 hours what would that really tell you? You would need to know how each person had used that phone e.g call time length, signal strength, WiFi etc The battery back up is not determined by the screen brightness alone although obviously the brighter the screen the more power will be consumed. But you also need to take into account multiple things I.e Apps used, signal strength, WiFi or data usage etc etc etc Sorry but as I said without conducting scientific tests with one phone with dark theme and one phone on a bright theme and put both phones through the exact same tests, it's very hard to say what the differences are. Hope I've made some sense and I hope someone is able to help.

  • Nokia 7 plus versus Samsung Galaxy S8 which is best in display screen quality battery backup and everythingheating gaming

  • What's the battery backup under 50 person brightness when we applied a black theme

  • I want to buy this mobile is this right option for me to buy in 2019

  • back glass huh... does it cause any problems when using the phone?

  • Try re-starting your phone to see if it re-sets itself.

  • Hello guys! My s8 battery drains from 35% to 0 for few minutes. Any suggestion?

  • many times my smartnphone has been fallen from my hands and the screen is not affected but what is fragile is back glass can be very easily broken.. overall it is strong device..

  • S8 Plus without a doubt.

  • which battery life Is better? S8 or s8 plus??

  • glass breaks and thats a rule but some are thougher. they say curved ones get broken easier

  • Just like all the glass phones out there, glass is glass and will break at one point. But no, my s8 has fallen twice and no scratch. I use a case because its an expencive phone.

  • is it true that the phone is fragile? like, will the glass crack if dropped? (the front glass)

  • You can look in connections and then data, you will see which app uses the most data. Same for wifi. Snapchat was one of my biggest even if it wasn't active.

  • You can look in connections and then data, you will see which app uses the most data. Same for wifi. Snapchat was one of my biggest even if it wasn't active.

  • I'm using Samsung Galaxy S8. Pls advice me on whether to use the Samsung internet or chrome to browse bcos I'm experiencing data draining. My data drains fast

  • I'm using Samsung S8 for a year now. It's really a wonderful device, it has never frozen for 1 day, in fact, never had any negative experience about it. I love it. The area I want to seek advice is the area of data draining..... It drains data, tho I know it's a big device but I want to know if there's any idea from users on this. I'm currently using chrome as the browser, I want to know bw chrome internet and Samsung internet which one ll be prefarable in browsing, I mean cheaper in data consumption. Pls hope to hear from you guys.

  • may god grand me some of amount to achieve this kind of phone Samsung Galaxy s8

  • but it charges really fast :P

  • S8 smaller screen smaller battery S8+ bigger screen bigger battery. My guess is the s8+ but not sure. Look at youtube there are all lot of battery test movies. I miss the s7edge battery life. That was far better then the s8.

  • S8 or s8+ which is better in battery life?

  • Try them in a store and think wich eco system you prefer, android or apple. S8 still solid but in terms of updates, we have 1 major update with pie and then it's done. Apple will give major updates for a longer time. Friend of mine has the 7 and for me the screen is to small. Even the s8 is just ok for me. Next phone has to be 6 inch or bigger.

  • iphone 7 or Samsung S8??? any suggestion?

  • I moved from using Iphone to Samsung. I just loved S8 compared to Iphone on various user customization samsung has to offer. however i would go ahead and share my experience on how samsung could have changed for better user experience. 1. Battery life is not too great (Once charged, battery lasts for a day) 2. After downloading the files, there are plenty of folders. why do lame user want all the folders (there can be smart option to view all the folder on need basis)

  • Mobile is good, but battery life is not that great.

  • I respect the opinion if that person owns the device and uses it and had all those malfunctions on it. But if it are just rumours and spreading them just to say something bad about it then i will dislike it. I am polite and I was just asking questions if it was personal experience or not. For example, I never owned an iphone but I heared a lot good and bad about it, so now I have to say all IPhones are bad? Or good? Only people who own or use a device can say something about it.

  • Respect your self and be polit , respect other people opinions .

  • All those issues you're saying are from your own device or just rumours? Not 1 person I know with that device has those issues. And I know a few as it is our work phone in our company with over 200 people. A few broken screens and back panels with the clumsy ones. But not 1 has a red tint or whatever your saying. Stop spreading falls rumours or hate about it.

  • Go for the s9 or s9 plus ... there's so many issue on the s8 ( screen burn , red tint , camera focus freeze ...... )

  • I am switching to Samsung from Sony, i really don't know if i should buy the S8 or the 120$ more expensive S9, can you please help me decide if the extra 120$ is worth it or do i just get the S8 ?

  • every update battery life is worse...

  • I know that feel man! Even I bought the original screen protector from samsung, it's still not perfect ! And when I remove it, it leave permanent residue to my screen because the "Squeegee" that include in packaging. *don't ever buy it*

  • Using the device for almost 2 years and for daily use, now my battery health is in 88% (measures with AccuBattery apps)

  • In my country it cost me $175.81 (new screen and bezel) If you wanna replace the battery too it cost around $185.42

  • It's difficult to find screen protector. Most of the screen protectors dose not fit correctly. Oh ugly look..... air bubbles. I'm afraid of using this 4n. Few friends of mine already broke their front glass. Samsung need address this issue.

  • been using mine for a year, and 3 months..and no damage at all..it's really up to the user how to keep the phone :D

  • Helo guys.....please tell me the review of s8 baattery??

  • Yes it is very nice device around this 1 year.but not satisfy with the glass as they mentioned Corny Gorilla5.I used it without tempered glass and after 2times fell on down Phone edge cracked.also parts cost is very high.for a display replace around 200-300$

  • I've been using mine over 3months now no screen protector. Not a single scratch

  • you are right bro..I own S8 and it is my assistant in everything.. btw I want to tell you that today I was visiting Samsung Store in a Mall, I tried Galaxy Note 9.. man.. it is amazing the smooth.. speed.. quick respond.. I am at the feeling that someday a phablet will replace laptop..

  • When pie update in s8?

  • S8 does't use micro usb but usb type C, which is symetrical

  • Hi, please tell everyone who done new updated mobile s8 review. I have 609.36 November 218. Please send me reply.

  • Help... please. Just bought 2 S8s in Canada. Both were about 50% charged when box was opened. Used for a while and then went to charge. I cannot get the so-called micro-USB cable to plug into the micro-USB connector for either no matter how hard I try. Manual says not to plug micro-USB cable into the multi-purpose jack. Am I missing something? Please help...

  • Yeah, same things happening to me :(

  • use it around 1 year. very nice device. satisfied with samsung UI and samsung app. i every day using samsung pay to buy my things. lunch, breakfast and many more. already claim samsung fast charge powerbank, cinema tickets (many times hahaha) Only 1 thing i hate. its 4GB RAM. and sometimes feel laggy. i use to take so many photo and videos on this phone. to make this phone run smooth i need to frequently store the photo and videos on external storage.

  • broken glass can get free replacement from samsung under 1 year warranty. if u bought original one.

  • Why is it a bad phone? Because you dropped it? Every glass phone will break after 1 or 20 drops. It is glass!!! Always use protection like a bumper or case. Something that takes the first hit instead of the glass. Friend of mine had a iphone xs and dropped it from knee high. Front and back glass was destroyed. Just a case of bad luck and no protection.

  • Is there anything in the Gorilla glass type? My phone samsung galaxy s8 , today dropped from just 2 feet in the hight and its screen was badly broken by the edge. Many features are not working after the 1st update ... Worst phone made by samsung .

  • Glass is glass, it's always possible you get scratches in it, gorilla glas 5 is stronger in that way it doesn't break as fast as normal glas when falling but it is not scratch resistent. Saffire is mote scratch proof then glass but also much more expensive. And apple uses the cheap ones. Source jerryriggsevertything on youtube. Make sure your pockets are dust and sand free. One pebble is enough for major scratches

  • Got it from flip kart, dont know whars wrong, looks like genuine product

  • What did you do to it. It would not scratch for no good reason.

  • Was your phone repaired by a reputable place or even a Samsung dealer or just by a shop. It may be that your phone is not a genuine Samsung.

  • I have both S8 and S9 at the moment, best phones ever. Cameras, screen, speakers, speed, upgrades....eveything is top of the range. The fight between S10 and P30 will be interesting.

  • does it realyy has Corning gorilla glass 5?, I used my S8 for few days without screen guard and I can see scratches on screen, any solutions?

  • I have had the S8 for approximately 18 mos. I have had to take it back and have repaired 3 ties. Touch screen stopped working, light quit working so not able to see the screen and camera froze. I have it in the $100 all cure all case that keeps safe from all spills, drops, etc... So what is the excuse. Don't purchase Fed up. Still owe on it and can't upgrade.

  • When update pie in s8...?

  • Great advice. Thanks again for your time.

  • Seems that your apps aren't developed for the s8 because mine works flawless. Every app I install keeps working. Every function of my phone works. Had 1 minor issue with a "wet" charge port and it was just some dust and metal particles (I work with metal sometimes) in my 3.5 audio port. Gives the same fault as a wet usb port for some reason. Visit a samsung care center if the problems with yours keep showing up. S8 is still one of the better smartphones out there

  • I have had this device sine the beginning of summer. Its fast, sometimes.. It has had a lot of bugs because my apps crash app the time and a bunch of the functions stop working which forces me to restart my device... I had to buy a replacement SD/SIM tray after mine broke and it wasn't coverd by warranty even though I didn't break it myself... The cool thing about this phone is how popular it is in my area.

  • Xiaomi is badin Giving android update. Go for s8

  • you're welcome bro, look about using facebook, I can give you a small proposal, the facebook app I know that is preinstalled with the device.. ok deactivate it and install facebook Lite from google playstore, maybe this can help you..bacause it will not work too much background data.. bro my advice is to use facebook from computer I dont know but if you use it for videos try to rely on youtube,, youtube is interesting like every tv in this app,,

  • Thanks for your interesting c0mments. The only time that my battery appears to drain quickly is when I am Facebook. Otherwise it is quite normal.

  • S8 will last longer than poco even with updates and 2 year warranty. Better components.

  • Poco F1. It's faster & will receive more updates than s8

  • hello mr. I saw your post, and I am a heavy android user samsung fan, your post is late for samsung s8 but I will inform you my story with this nice smartphone, I have been using samsung s8 from the time it is launched till now! and my points are very sincere, S8 is a nice fast smartphone, but the 1st use I was having a little problem every 2 weeks the turn off button freezes for 10 minutes, after the 1st update it was fixed.. the battery lasts aald day for normal use and a 2 quarter day for heavy use (if you rely too much on smartphone) the features are unbearable, it is really a nice device like a small super computer with you and a tech friend with you.. but one little issue I dont know why but I used to swim with it too much and take much videos and photos under water, now every 2 month I need to put a solvant in the speaker to open it because the voice turns too low (you see I use it multiusage).. and if you are too professional in work and studies and researches and need a real computer with you all the time, just but galaxy note 9 or wait for galaxy note 10..(there are rumors that galaxy s10+ have a 1 terra storage.. if you need this) thank you I wish I helped you

  • Poco phone f1 or used s8 with 1 year warrentry ? same price but poco is 2 years brand new warrentry

  • There should be no confusion. s8 is the better phone.

  • What you wish, but for me the best is orchid gray.

  • S8, if you want S8+.

  • There's no comparison, S8 is miles ahead of A8.

  • Which mobile is better S8 or A8 ?! I’m getting confusion

  • Please don't try to spread rubbish. There is NO black spot nor has there ever been a black spot. As to your other questions it will last a full day plus.

  • how is the battery timing of s8? can it last a whole day using WiFi, whatsapp, Facebook and 1.5 hours of YouTube? if there is a black spot in display? will it enlarge with time?

  • In theory I would say asus as I look at the specs, however camera is not great, Asus priority is computers so support will not be great and software is buggy. So my opinion is the s8, still great and will get android 9.

  • Asus Zenfone 5z vs Samsung Galaxy S8?

  • True, colors really don't matter as we've to use a case anyway.

  • The color you like the most off course, and doesn't really matter because one you use a bumper or a cover they are all the same.

  • which colour is the best?

  • Right

  • At least 3-4 year good looking service.

  • Bro it's s10 I think you'll get more than 3 years... Currently I'm using galaxy grand prime still work fine till now.. Just have a little problem in software

  • Yeah I know but gsmarena have got it right ( they recently updated it) I believe at the time of launch of the S8 there was not a 512gb (legit) card on the market at the time so that could be the reason why the Samsung website still refers to the smaller one. But the phone does accept a 512gb card. Hope this helps :)

  • but spec in samsung website says expandable upto 256 gb?

  • Yes works fine. Just buy a trusted brand from a trusted source is my only advise. As with much in life, you get what you pay for!

  • I had used the S6 edge+ for over 2 years and it was still as good as new before I traded it for the S8, although it didn't get any major updates after nougat but was getting the security patch updates and it never looked dated in fact S6 edge+ was the sexiest phone samsung ever made.

  • Hi all, how about using 512gb memory card? does it works fine?

  • without any worries you can use galaxy S10 for 3 years. only thing is you should protect it from drops etc as similar to iphone. built quality is awesome

  • No issues, battery remains as it was.

  • The issues you are concerned about do not happen. I have an s8 which is perfect. You can buy your s10 with total confidence.

  • Hi, I'm planning to buy a galaxy s10 next year. I have never used a Samsung phone before. I was about to buy iPhone XS max last month but after knowing about the S10 I thought of trying it out. So my question to all the Samsung users is that how much is the longevity of Samsung smartphones? When do the issues like battery degradation, laggy performance etc start to occur? and when does the phone totally feels outdated? with iPhones I know if I get the latest one now, I won't have to worry for at least 3 yrs. What about Samsung? I do not want to change the phone for at least 2.5 to 3 years. Should I go for S10? Thanks

  • Hi, how is the new update? Does it drain the battery?

  • This is the phone I was looking for. Stunning screen for watching videos, really amazing. Perfect size & weight and the best camera on any smartphone, battery enough to last for a day on moderate usage and the price which it is selling right now destroys all the other flagships. S8 rocks!!!

  • Are you serious ? Comparing s8 with poco f1, this is too much, s8 is flagship man!!!

  • Just received the November security patch.

  • Only big thing in poco f1 is SD845 otherwise nothing S8 is all time better than poco

  • So after the latest update I noticed a problem with my s8. I get a notification that my charge port is wet and can't charge my phone as long the notification is there. So I need to shut it down with charger plugged in and leave it off. Then it will charge, but if I turn it on it stops charging and the notification is back. I never use my phone near water or in the rain. So software issue? Others with the same thing here? I googled it and was a issue in 2017 but not much in 2018. My phone is 5 months old.

  • Huawei Honor Play or Samsung S8?

  • Are you serious!! How come to compare this trash chinese phone with s8!

  • Definitely S8 Spec Is Higher Then Pocophone.

  • Pocophone compared to S8?? Are you serious???

  • confused about choosing this or pocofhone F1

  • This phone had a comeback on popularity now huh. Maybe it's cheaper than ever?

  • that's true , even i've never face this problem before with my samsung smartphones with super amoled display , may be because i use 30 t0 40 % max brightness .. if you want to see a real screen burn and red tint issue on the s8 just go to youtube adrianisen chanel and watch the latest videos with the s8 ... all Samsung edges smartphones have issues with the display ( red tint .. screen burn ... dead pixels ... purple lines .. black crush .......)

  • Is this phone still worth buying in mid 2019?

  • You can also get it on ebay "Soft Pet" screen protector for S8.

  • I've used the S6 edge+ and the S7 edge for over 2 years and have never faced any screen burn issues on any of them and the same goes with my current S8. Even my 3 year old J7 didn't had any such issues.

  • It's a local brand here in Thailand called "Soft PET" plated full screen curved front & back glass protector, ordered it on "Lazada" online shopping.

  • I do regularly change the theme, so far so good, or use microsoft launcher, bing will change wallpaper dialy

  • why cant you just mention the name of screen protector, so that others also can buy it?

  • Just got perfect screen protector for my s8 (front and back) ordered it online for just $6 full screen & back protection, comes in different colors which completely changes the look of already gorgeous phone, got two in silver & blue colors, it's not flimsy like the normal screen protectors, feels solid and typing on it is flawless.

  • Forget about the mid range phones, S8 can still give the current flagships a run for their money.

  • Way better R u kidding Better cam Better display Better performance

  • It is worth to buy the s8 -I mean is it better than the current mid range phoneS?

  • used s8 or new mate 20 lite ?

  • Does no one here have any problem with screen burn-in? Most people in the comments seem to not be aware of this issue. There's lots of comment threads talking about the pixels slowly burning away the organics within them as with all AMOLED displays, but this is far worse on the S8 and +. Just got one that's been used since its launch because it still has a 1 yr warranty and I didn't think this was so much of an issue. Lots of rectangular shapes are burned on the display, but thought a service repair will fix it and that's that. Boy was I wrong. I looked up some common user issues, especially on Samsung community forums, and found that no matter how many times they're replaced AMOLEDs will still have this "ghosting" eventually no matter how well you try to preserve them. So there's nothing to be done once the warranty is out, except replacing the $300 display myself or using a screen with sun-spots. If you want to buy one, BEWARE, the screen is very sensitive to all light colors, especially white (avoid it like the plague on AMOLED), and WILL get burned-in because of these colors but the severity will depend on how high you set the level of brightness and how often the pixels are kept on displaying still images or icons with said colors (even the home button or notifications).

  • s8 without even thinking. Nothing wrong with s7 but s8 is newer slightly better but with the best display going.

  • S7 or S8?

  • Bs S9 is excellent like the s8. Negligible difference in battery life.

  • still, S9 is a downgrade when it comes to battery life....it's the first one in many years when a newer model get a worse battery life, and in terms of fans..S9 is...wayyyy....back with the rest of the losers while S8 sits in the front raw..

  • Of course S9. Although it's similar to s8, it has better camera, has awesome stereo speakers & has project Treble which means it'll get faster updates & it'll also receive Android 10 unlike S8. @F.galaxy - wtf u say s8??

  • first discharge your phine to zero percent. then charge it completely to 100 percent and then unplug it. now it will discharge normally after 20 percent. it is due to error in calibration of battery charge monitor.

  • The November patch has my battery draining! Sm-G950f

  • S8

  • S8 or S9?

  • I have very little sympathy for any one who won't get a decent protective cover for their phone. A film is only protection for scratches.

  • I think that I'd be taking it into Samsung for a check up. That sounds very strange. When mine drops down to 15% I receive a warning and it automatically reverts to Battery Saver mode. Nothing like what you're describing.

  • Is anyone else facing an issue of sudden battery discharge on S8 when battery goes below 20%. What usually happens is within just a few minutes battery goes from 20 to 0%. Otherwise battery discharges normally.

  • Had a 2ft drop on a carpet floor and display cracked & was it having a display film too!!! No point of Gorilla or chimpanzee!!

  • There is a beast inside the beauty........have u ever use an s8..........????

  • i-blason for the s8+ i remeber an awesome 20bucks double layer (front/back) cover...

  • I did not say that my battery was failing. It isn't. It's fine. I said that Facebook usage runs my battery down much quicker than any other app for some reason. Other than that the phone is first class and it's my fourth Samsung phone. They just keep getting better and better.

  • They wiil murder your battery one way or the other to get 1000 dollars of you for new phone!

  • Never buy a phone with non replacable battery! They are robbing you blind! Realy, every 2 years 1000 dollars for Samsung phone? Thats why I never bought iPhone. Fccck apple and Samsung?

  • It's really hard to find a tempered glass that sticks with a case on. Right now I'm using a normal plastic film with an ultra slim hard 360° case.

  • which i should put as a screen protector for s8... tempered glass or a normal plastic screen protector?

  • Honor Play

  • It has a memory card slot dude and I don't care about the FM radio & ir blaster.

  • Everything except FM Radio, IR blaster and dedicated memory card slot

  • Samsung S8 or Xiaomi Pocophone? Torn between the two.

  • Go blindly for the S8, forget about the iPhone 7 even the iPhone X stands nowhere near the S8.

  • Bro go for S8+, Or oneplus 6T. Iphone is good. Amoled has its own feel.

  • Please help me: iPhone 7 or Galaxy S8 iPhone 7+ or Galaxy S8+

  • 2 months with this beauty and I must say this is the best phone I've used so far. It has everything you want in a smartphone.

  • S8 off coarse Display is a fantastic Camera is better Look and Build is better

  • I also faced the same problem till 4-5 days battery going down by 10-12 overnight which was quite annoying but it got back to normal after that. Now it goes down by 4-5% overnight which is acceptable I dont use any battery saving mode. Agreed it's not as good as my previous Sony XZ1 which had tremendous battery life.

  • Not for normal use. However I find that using Facebook absolutely murders my battery for some reason. Everything else is quite normal.

  • Please add internal call recording option facility

  • is it normal the battery of s8 gone down 5% fast just afte scrolling for 10minutes? ... just wondering...because it's my first time to use Samsung mobile... I've been using xperia phones before and I didn't experience any battery problems...

  • can someone tell me what screen protector is good to buy for s8?

  • untill it gets full charges, just dont do over charge in it.

  • Until it's fully charged.

  • Hi everyone... I just bought today Samsung s8... Can someone tell me how many hours need to charge for the first time?

  • not true my mi5 got 2 android update (was android 6 and now its 8, and many miui updates (currently miui 10), what else do I need? its same class as galaxy s7 with almost same release time, s7 had android 6 now android 8, same for mi 5, xiaomi is decent in terms of updates specially for its flagships

  • Xiaomi will give only miui updates and not the android

  • That's quite a tough one, I would probably go for the mi 8 if you can get it for cheaper, its newer which means it will get more updates, faster and probably better battery life. The mi 8 is also getting the new night mode and other stuff that the recently announced mi mix 3 has.

  • Galaxy S8 of course

  • It is pretty decent with normal usage, for me the battery easily lasts for a day.

  • Hi guys, i want to buy samsung s8 or s9 during the black friday but i have a doubt. Is the battery so bad as a lot of people talk? I mean, with an average use, is it decent?

  • Finally Samsung's one UI confirmed for S8, S8+ & Note 8:

  • After getting super slow mo and ar emoji S8 got much better, It is really good device

  • S8 or Mi 8 ?????

  • Both are great phones but if you can afford go for the newer S9.

  • Yes S8, S8+ & note 8 won't be getting it.

  • S8 or s9? Which one should i buy?

  • S8 or s9? Which one should i buy?

  • So the s8 will not get the one ui

  • Don't buy the XZ1, it has good battery life but poor camera which doesn't justify its price. I switched to the S8 after the XZ1 and no regrets at all. This phone is simply awesome with no overheating issues.

  • Yes it's "heating" Type error... Thank you for response :)

  • Does anybody know if the S8 will be getting Android 9 (Pie). Would really like to try the new OneUI from Samsung.

  • Not sure what you mean about 'hitting', if you mean heating issues I have never had heating issues. Go for the S8. Although I believe Sony makes great phones the S8 has been a flawless device.

  • Help.... Does s8 have a battery hitting problem? I was planning to buy s8 or xz1... Which one you think i should buy...that has no battery hitting problem...

  • What?? Iphone has better camera than S8?? Dude you haven't used the S8.

  • S8 is better

  • Thanks a bunch man, really appreciate it. I don't use NFC at all, so I don't really care if it's available or not. My main concern is about the glass sandwich, I do drop my phone from time to time but since the current one is metal and plastic it doesn't really get damaged. But I'm afraid if I drop OP6 it's probably gonna break in no time. Plus I'm a person who doesn't really want to put his phone in a case. Have you dropped yours yet? Could've went with OP6T but the lack of 3.5mm jack has got me extremely skeptical. Also the review on this site says that a serious problem with OP6 is overheating. Have you endured anything like that till now? I'm someone who keeps his phone for at least 2-3 years, so I wouldn't wanna change it before that. Would really appreciate your response.

  • if u need good camera iphone is better

  • S8 is miles ahead of the phones you've mentioned here.

  • please friends can u help me in selection of mobile, much confuse which mobile i should buy iphone 6, samsung s7, or j6,8 or a6,8.? i need good camera and spead. my range is 1000aed. please reply me, thanks

  • I actually have both. I will go hands down OP6 or OP6T if possible. The only difference is the expanded storage on the OP6T, so if you need to expand the storate go OP6. Why OP6. 1. Cleaner andriod install, S8 has Samsung bloat ware and most of it you can't get rid of. 2. Battery Life, the battery is bigger on both and since there is no bloatware you will find that the OP6 last longer. I find myself recharging the S8 around 3 pm daily. 3. The screen is slightly bigger on the OP6, if you are like me and consume media on the phone (movies, TV, youtube, Netflix), having the OP6 is better. After I got the OP6 I got rid of my tablet while I travel. 4. Price, even when the S8 is currently slightly cheaper, you get a lot more with OP6T right now. Hey if you need to save some money the OP6 is the same price as an S8. Cons 1. I find it hard to find covers and protectors for the OP6, but you can always order online. 2. The speaker is slightly quitter on the OP6. I just say that because it is, not to the point that it will create a problem, but it is. I normally use Bluetooth devices so it is the same for me. 3. Samsung pay, this will work with a LOT of terminals and with the OP6 only NFC terminals will work. The difference is NOT that much, and depending on where you shop it can create a problem. You can always work around this by pairing your OP6 with a Samsung Gear3. So unless you need more than 128gb storage I will go with the OP6.

  • Should I go for s8 or OP6? I'm kinda leaving towards the latter due to its almost stock android UI.

  • Thank you very much

  • Go for the normal film which covers the entire screen instead of tempered glass as it protects the screen from scratches and typing becomes more easy.

  • Hmmmm, as I'm talking to you now, the screen guard I bought days ago, not only that it's freezing my key pad, it cracks has cracked on its own. I used S4 for about 2years with the same screen guard, it never cracked once.

  • Well I have the s8 for 6 months now and I used every single screen protector that I could find. But none lasted more than a week. So ditched the tought I needed one and I just use a spigen case ( Spigen Rugged Armor Extra Samsung Galaxy S8 Back Cover) without any protection on the glass. Zero scratches for the moment, just make sure it is always the only thing in that pocket or you are looking for trouble (and scratches).

  • It's also affecting the selfie camera, making the photos become blur and the face detection sensor

  • I'm also having same problem. The screen glass for my S8 hasn't been working out. It's freezing the key pad. It's reduces the quality of the selfie photo and face detection sensor. In fact I am considering using the phone without a screen guard because it has not been working well on my S8 device

  • Hello friends, I'm using Samsung Galaxy S8 and really enjoying. The only problem I'm facing is that each time I buy a screen guard for it, touch pad stops working smoothly. The key pad starts freezing. I purchased and repurchased, the same thing keeps on repeating itself. Is it that S8 is not compatible with any guard? And finally, I enjoy the smartness of the buttons when I remove the screen guard. Question...... If I continue using the phone without a screen guard, will the screen fade, considering the fact that it's Corning Gorilla 5 screen. Pls advice me

  • Thank you for the comment!

  • Thank you for the comment!

  • In my opinion if you're not interested in a camera and speed that much... you'll prefer the a8 . The battery life is better on a normal day then now the s8 is refurbished meaning the battery has already been worn out small.. but if you don't mind that... the s8 has a better screen camera and soc.. if you buy either and take care of it well they'll both reach that 2-3years

  • Always go with Samsung flagship phones rather than their mid rangers (J, A, C series) I've had some unpleasant experiences with their lower end phones. If you're getting a used S8, simply go for it it's far better than the A series for sure.

  • S8

  • ok may i know why ?

  • Galaxy S8 obvio

  • Galaxy S8 (used/refurbished) vs Galaxy A8 (2018, new) ? I see they are about the same price. Which one would be better to use for 2-3 years from now?

  • They said wait

  • which is better samsung s8 or oppo f9 ?

  • First of all make sure your phone is running on the latest OS with latest security patch update, if it is then restart your phone in Safe mode. This is just to help you isolate the issue if it is caused by any 3rd part apps as they sometimes make your phone go weird. If this doesn't work then take it to the nearest service center.

  • My hearing sound is very low. Some time it is ok but most of the time hearing sound is very low( call volume), when out side. If any solution please advise. Please ...

  • Extra phone in all aspect...but one thing is missing... FM RADIO....sameone please... solution for fm radio to work with earphone like antena....

  • 2years an no burn in? whats your secret? are u rerely use it over heat. i just bought s8 for couple months, my cousin used s6edge for almost 2years, now the his s6edge's screen got burned in (keyboard always appears on the screen, but just shadow). now i'm little worried what if my s8 got burn in in couple time

  • Sometimes when I am on a normal phone call (Outgoing or Incoming), speakers turns on it's own. If i look at phone, the speaker icon is not "GREEN" (which means it wasn't pressed). I have to press the speaker icon once and nothing happens because at that time the phone starts loud speaker (Which is already turned on) and then i press it again to turn it off and everything is back to normal. help me

  • You can have oreo 8.0 now

  • It's really strange as Oreo has been released way back and now the October security patch is already available. Take it to a nearby service centre and get it checked.

  • It's really hard to find a tempered glass for the S8 but I was fortunate to get one for $12 and it has been almost a month with it and it works really fine and the best part is it fits perfectly well with all the cases I have. Don't buy the ones which come with different colors and which have all three holes at the top get the one which only has one hole for the earpiece it's more sturdy and covers the whole screen.

  • I have s8 and still running on 7.0 nougat can any body help.

  • Hi...im using my s8 for 1 month duration..I have a problem with my screen protector..I have been used tempered glass 3 times which were just cracked from the edges after 2 -3 duration of installation without any obvious cause..is this problem becos of the edges?did anyone experience the same problem?please help me to solelve my problem..what is the best option/screen protector to solve my problem??Thank you v much..

  • could you tell me what screen protector fits the best

  • I was really fortunate to get a tempered glass for my S8 which fits perfectly (with a case on) with great touch sensitivity.

  • Try update lates ver. After update mine is fixed

  • Can I do trade in , I mean to give my phone back to Samsung Authorised Dealer in Exchange for a new model , Presently am Using Galaxy 8

  • Anyone? Is it due to OIS?

  • Hi all, pls solve my doubt, in my new galaxy s8, when I turned ON rear camera at night at dark, I observed that left bottom portion of screen looks like grains in old CRT TV, is it display refreshing? But it doesn't happen with front camera, if anyone observed same pls post here, thank you

  • Hi guys, one day at night, I turned on camera of my galaxy s8 and I observed left bottom portion of screen looks like too much grains are raining. Is it normal, some one check camera of your phone at dark (night) and let me know pls, thanks in advance, I have exynos varient

  • Great phone: speed, stability and battery are great. I am only disappointed with screen that gone easily and very scratched using Clear view cover. Who doesn't believe can try this combination for himself.

  • I got the super slow motion & AR emoji features in the camera with the Oct security patch update in the second week of this month. It's a great phone and I'll be keeping it for at least a year or so.

  • That's called cutting off your nose to spite your face.

  • One year, now, i have my S8, good phone, good quality.... but , there's a but, i'm in canada, and the update are so slow.... because i have the american version snapdragon, i never receive the update for the camera ... slow motion and ar emoji.. very deceive by that... it is my first samsung phone, and it will be the last........... in january, i change, it will be pixel 3 or iphone xr..... sorry samsung........ your choice of two processors for the planet.... make me angry.....

  • I used my Galaxy S8+ on my first day back at work. And with my experience of battery saving tips I find myself still having 30% by 9pm using intermittent YouTube, news, weather, sync on, Google Maps, browsing (via Samsung browser), social media (except Facebook). So I still think it is just about above average. And I believe the phone itself optimises your usage and learns what you are using and doing to your phone. I just wish the volume via headphones is a bit louder.

  • I've the S8 and there's nothing wrong with the battery, easily lasts upto a day with normal usage.

  • I hope it doesn't have battery issues because I heard the battery management is very poor

  • It has been less than 24 hours since I setup my phone and again so far i'm happy. I'm currently on Oreo 8.0.0 with Samsung Experience 9.0 w/ the September security patch. It would be better if the UI have some features such as: 1. Ability to edit the Google Search bar 2. Google Lens integration in the camera app. 3. a wide angle option in the camera app (I could not find one so far) 4. Google Chromecast support 5. Search function in the Settings could be a bit faster. Other than that i'm fairly satisfied. I will now start saving for a Galaxy S9+ next year.

  • Congrats, great choice. The S8+ is a great phone with big screen and bigger battery life, my cousin has one for almost a year now and it's still as good as new.

  • Got an S8+ today and so far i'm happy. Once the screen protectors are on and the protective case arrives i'll be bringing it on my first day back at work. I know I will notice some things that may need improving and I will forward all of them to Samsung. And upon seeing what's in store for 2019 i.e. the Samsung Experience 10.0 things could and should only get better. I would rather see a UI that is fully optimised with features that are useful to us. Rather than a half-baked, poorly optimised OS, Saying that, before I bought my S8+ I almost bought a Pixel 2 XL as it was discounted but still significantly more expensive than the S8+ deal. But I resisted and so far im happy with my baby.

  • So true, Sony won't ever learn from their mistakes. I regret wasting my hard earned money on buying the XZ1, I could've saved it & got the S8/S9 much earlier but better late than never. So far I'm happy with my S8 after the Sony fiasco :-)

  • I've had many Sony phones in the past (from the original Z1 all the way to the XZ) and Samsungs (from the original Galaxy S to the S5 Neo) to name a few. I've always favoured good/above average camera quality and I agree with you based on my own experience and the countless videos I've seen Sony never learn from complaints and critcisms of their phones. From poor low light, to lots of noise to zooming-in to slow shutter speeds you name it. I'm hope I'll be happy with an S8+ coz I just bought one on ebay. And as Samsung is currently doing a trade-in for their phones I may end up getting an S9 Plus either in these coming days or at least next few weeks. I appreciate all the help I get from here I do hope the Samsung community continue to be bigger and the developers to continue to give us a much more refined, useful, productivity-based, performance-driven, non battery hugging UX for us to truly enjoy.

  • When it comes to camera I only trust Samsung flagships as they've always been the best experience for me so far right from the S6 edge+, S7, Note FE, S7 edge and now the S8, all have been a beast in camera department, no need to switch to manual mode, change iso, white balance, nothing just open the camera and you're good to go. That's why I was really upset with the Sony XZ, XZ1 as they had really bad camera (specially in lowlight). I also have a 2015 J7 which is my secondary phone & is still in running condition. If you wanna buy the S8/S8+ go ahead as they're available at great prices right now.

  • At the moment i'm more inclined to get an S8/S8+ than the V30 coz of the camera issues. And it would seem LG is much slower with updates as well. BTW, I've cancelled my order for the V30 and awaiting a refund. In the next 24 hours I will be purchasing my very first Samsung device since the S5 Neo a few years ago. Thoughts?

  • Would probably rather have an "average" selfie cam (but improved via software updates) than a 5MP one with 480p slow-motion video, poor low light shots & bland-looking photos I suppose.

  • Radio apps eat Gb If you are away from WiFi forget it Unbelievable eh?

  • Main reason I switched to the S8 from Sony XZ1 (which i sold for peanuts) was the camera. Sony won't ever learn from their mistakes in the camera department no OIS, pathetic image processing, blurred low lights pics with lack of details to name a few and the same goes with their latest XZ2 which is also pathetic in terms of camera quality. I mean you pay such an hefty amount and get disappointed in the end. The S8 has a great camera and till date I haven't even used the flash light while taking any low light shots cause it captures tons of details and pics are really crisp and clear. V30 is much better than any Sony phone hope the minor issues you're talking about the camera & video quality of the V30 will get resolved by an update. Enjoy your new phone.

  • The S8 also has average selfie camera even if it's 8mp. Don't worry about updates. Samsung & LG already have more features than those in stock Android. That's why major updates are insignificant for these devices. The Oreo update brought nothing new to the S8 tbh

  • But i'm still concerned about slow updates though. And the 5MP selfie camera seems worse than my Moto X4 or my Xperia XZ in terms of overall quality. And the slow-mo video looks like 480p quality which is just really poor.

  • But i'm still concerned about slow updates. And the 5MP selfie camera seems worse than my Moto X4 or my Xperia XZ. And the slow-mo video looks like 480p quality which is just really poor.

  • More tech and less money is always the best deal. Enjoy your v30

  • Not a lg fanboy but the v30 has far better batterylife than the s8. I have the normal s8 and used the v30 from a friend for a week and I got about double screen on time, the only reason I wouldn't buy any lg phone is the poor after sale support, zero security updates and major updates take forever to arrive. If lg would fix that service-problem they would get more fanboys. My personal opinion is that al the major brands are overrated and you pay for the brand and not the quality. Look at nokia, solid phones with good quality and support but the name is no longer a fashion statement so people don't want to buy them.

  • U got a new v30 for that price which is indeed an excellent deal & the v30 is as good as the s8 in terms of camera, build quality & appearance. It's got average battery life though. The v30 is as good as an s8. Congrats

  • The phone but I don't how to change the view when I want to check for the message come its in plain white I can't propery how can I change it need your asistance

  • I did something that I feel I may either regret or felt it was a good deal. I bought a brand-new LG V30 for only £450. I got frustrated waiting and looking for a good S8/S8+ deals online (mainly ebay) but it just fizzled out. Thoughts about the V30 vs the S8+? DO you think it was a good choice? Need your comments please.

  • Looks like you're highly confused choosing the right smartphone. I was a Sony fan until the XZ1 let me down with its camera, after that I decided to go for the S8 when S9 was already available and no regrets at all, I saved some money and got a phone which was almost the same as the S9 but at a low price, updated it to October security patch and got AR emoji and super slow motion feature in the camera department. Camera on the S8 beats the crap out of the iphone X and any Sony phone till date. So the bottom line is if you can afford to buy the S9 go for it as it's new but is almost the same as the S8 except the f1.5 on the camera, else everything is great on the S8 and the price which is selling right now makes it the best choice.

  • because of Bixby

  • I'm buying a new phone to replace my old XZ. My main concerns with a phone camera are: 1. poor low light performance (front & rear cameras) 2. dreaded purple or orange tinge in low light or extreme sunny conditions 3. over and underexposure 4. unresolved details especially around the corners 5. lots of noise when zooming in (under any conditions) 6. No OIS or (the very least) EIS in both the front & rear camera. (I'm doing more 1080p videos @ either 30 or 60fps than 4K) 7. Audio recording sounds as if the people talking have a blocked nose (mono). 8. Unnatural bland or over-contrasty colours (in Auto Mode) 9. Poorly optimised portrait shots (background blur looks artificial) So, Does this sounds the S8 can easily handle? Or go for the newer S9? Battery life are not concerning as I can do those battery-saving tips I've learned these past years; performance may be a bit out there as I want something as fast if not faster than an iPhone X.

  • The best phone ever. I used this phone for about 18 months. But sadly I live in I

  • Just go for it. This phone is really amazing in fact it's a stunner!! I went to some islands in Thailand and took tons of pics day and night & was completely blown away by its camera performance also the battery life is great just one charge a day and you're good to go. Wow what a phone!!!

  • Heck yea. Its very good price for the package.

  • Bought s8 for ₹27500, is it worth guys??

  • I've had my S8 for almost 2 years now and it has been an amazing device. From the first time opening the box I had butterflies in my stomach. Even now when I take the case off I get goosebumbs. INSANELY sexy look and feel. Best phone I've ever used. No screen burn in. The only issue is sometimes when I talk to GOOGLE it becomes unresponsive but only with the GOOGLE assistant, not sure why.

  • I saw some demo units with very bad burn-in. But that's because this phones are on 100% brightness 24/7. I had Samsung Galaxy J3 2016, which has an amoled screen. I had it for 1.5 years. I was using it on 20-30% brightness all time. No burn-in. But my display cracked..

  • your battery is already weak,

  • go for the latest always, the s9, or wait if you can wait much longer wait for s10

  • You may have a fake phone. If it is genuine then it may still be covered by warranty so you should return it to your dealer. My s8 is now 12 months old and it is superb. Screen is beautiful and I always keep it at maximum resolution. After all if you have the best display why not use it.

  • There ain't any burn in issue on this phone neither any horizontal pink line issue on my previous S7 edge. Trust me me this is the most wonderful device I've ever used. If you're planning to buy it get it from an authorized dealer and you won't be disappointed.

  • Very bad burn-in... I've got a permanent 'pink' rectangle 2/3 of the screen, corresponding to the youtube video app white space.

  • What about burn-in? I want to buy one but i'm afraid...

  • hi i own an s8 and i updated mine as well, is the same no difference on my end u should reset you phone or shut off ur phone hold down the power button the bixby button and the top volume button at the same time for 5 sec then go to clear cache partition and see what happens i hope that helps

  • None of the glass phones are unbreakable be it any. If you can buy an expensive phone you can also shed few bucks for it's protection, simple!!

  • This is really cheap on eBay, like € 200, but almost every S8 has a cracked screen because of that edge display. You would have to pay € 300 for one without screen damage :/ But for that, I would rather buy one for € 220 with a lightly cracked screen

  • I currently have S6 and planning to have an upgrade due to battery problem. Any suggestion?

  • Having big battery issue when baterry drop to 29 or 20 sometimes to 16 when battery battery drops to 0% and turns off

  • You're welcome we'll there's no hang or lag on the S8, I'm using this beauty for a while now and there's no such problem. As far as battery back up is concerned it depends on your usage for me it's good. Yes it goes down to 7-8% on standby when I go to sleep at night but once you start using it it's pretty sturdy but don't expect miracles. Hope this helps. Overall I'm happy with my S8.

  • And one more thing hows the battery back up?

  • Thanks sam for the help. One more question. My samsung s7 hangs sometimes. Is it same in samsung s8. Thanks in advance.

  • Once you hold the S8 in your hands you'll feel the difference. It's one of the best phones over used so far the infinity display will blow you away it's completely different from the S7 series. Also the S8 is due for android pie update which the S7 won't be getting. I chose this over the S9 as there's not much difference between the two also the S8 is much cheaper than the latest S9 series.

  • Hello, I have updated my S8 today. I'm not satisfied with this update. The battery seems to discharge faster. The phone is hot even if I only used ordinary applications. So take care, or wait, to view more opinions. Have fun!

  • hello s8 very good yes. should buy much yes. i has lots in house yes?

  • Guys can you help me. I am using samsung galaxy s7. I am planning to buy samsung galaxy s8. Is it a good decision. Is there any difference between s7 and s8. Should i buy samsung s8.

  • I had the g6 and overall de s8 is better, the sound is also better in my opinion, and with adapt sound you can adapt the sound to your unique ears. So with that you will hear the most of your music, and it has an equilizer to adapt it further. Samsung is a step up if you have an lg now.

  • Sound quality via headphones is great, to be honest i haven't used the headphones which came with the phone as I use Sony headphones which I've been using for a long time and they go pretty well with my S8. Can't say whether they are better than LG as I haven't used the G6.

  • please , any one have issue of the red tint or the camera focus issue on the s8 ?

  • please suggest which one in better in all aspect ...1+6 or s8 ?

  • hai, how is sound quality through earphones in s8.is it as good as lg g6.anyone please reply.

  • It's called "costel" tempered glass here, it's a local brand.

  • What is its name or brand then?

  • Sorry can't post the link for the tempered glass as I bought it from one of the stores (after trying almost a dozen) for $15 and paid the money only after putting a case on it and typing all the alphabets in a jiffy and swipping the screen in all directions. Trust me this one works like a charm in fact I bought one more as standby as it's really hard to find one.

  • Man thank you for such a realistic round up about s8. Am considering getting the base model as well. But I'd like to know from u how effective is this bokeh feature on the camera? Really important to me. Countless reviews ive read/watched said same thing about the cameras incapacity. Tho takes nice shots but producing well blurred out background with edge detection isn't so achievable. Would you say that's right about s8's camera? Have you tested it extensively?

  • Thanks man i appreciate

  • Post link of the tempered glass please. I can't find any good one at a reasonable price

  • You're welcome :-)

  • Take it to a service centre as it should be under a Samsung world wide warranty.

  • Thanks man i appreciate

  • Thanks. The camera on the S8 is one of the best I've come across in a smartphone, it takes stunning shots in any lighting conditions. Talking about the bokeh mode, there isn't any so you've to open the camera swipe the screen to the left & choose "selective focus" and then tap on the object you want to click by doing that it somehow blurs the background though it's not like the bokeh effect but does the job. Hope this helps.

  • My phone was bought online in USA IN June this year. Now I am in India . This morning my phone suddenly hanged. So it’s neither getting switched off, nor receiving calls. If my no. Is dialed ring goes but not getting connected. I tried to recharge but not it’s showing same 64% charged. What is the way out . ? Need help.

  • After several unsuccessful attempts finally got a tempered glass for my S8 on which typing is flawless and fits comfortably with my UAG case. I was looking for some protection as the screen is fragile & I didn't want any scratches on my phone.

  • S8 slo mo update is up guys

  • I got it for $433 with one year warranty.

  • From where can I get S8 in minimum price. Here its available around $530.

  • Who are 'they'?

  • I've been using it for 5 months. It's perfect. After the new update got super slow mo capture. In general the Camera is fantastic. Battery is impressive. Tbh I don't see any difference between s8 and s9. Go get it

  • S8 is bad?? Bad as in what?? S7 was a great device no doubt about that but it won't be getting any further updates while the S8 is due for android pie. If you wanna spend extra bucks go for the S9 which is not very different from the S8.

  • How is S8 for today use? I plan to buy it, but I heard S8 is bad. They say buy S7 or S9 :/

  • I'm using the S8 and it's a great phone in all aspects. Htc ain't available in my country except online and there ain't any service centres here.

  • Am getting s8, u11 and mate 10 vanilla at the same price $380. Which one would you guys recommend?

  • Day 2 with my S8 & I have to admit it's a great phone. The battery easily lasts upto a day with wifi on for almost whole day, screen is amazing & the performance is butter smooth not to forget the outstanding camera but you need protection as the phone is slippery and you can't afford to drop it. Overall I'm really happy with it.

  • S8 > Nova 3 Flagship > Mid range

  • Well, not really, if you compare offers, the S8 is € 400 and the S9 is just 80 more at € 480, and for the € 80 difference, the S9 is well worth it

  • Upgraded from the S6 edge + to the S8 today and its been a great feeling. Read a lot about the camera being blurry so took lots of pics at the store before buying and nothing of that sort the camera is amazing and takes stunning shots even in low lights. Screen is amazing and the midnight black looks really great it's all black including the frame. Got this for $430 as the price has gone down immensely after the release of the S9 which is just double S8s price but it's almost the same. Really happy with the phone :-)

  • My samsung galaxy s8 worst battery backup SOT 4hrs only but 10 nm chipset....please go to update the battery issue.

  • Try charging the battery without fast charging (settings / device maintenance / battery)...it seems to last longer.

  • Yes, I asked a Samsung support agent and said the same thing.

  • yes it's oreo straight from the box

  • you have to download the updates. It will probably go to android 9.1

  • Hi. If I buy an S8 now does it come with Oreo pre-installed or it comes with Nougat and I have to download ALL updates from Nougat to Oreo?

  • battery life?????

  • Samsung s8

  • Same phone with good battery. Don't expect to last like note 9 tho. That phone really has a big battery!

  • Will it upgarde to android 9??

  • I just want the Intelligent Scan.

  • Is this lagging after update or feeling like an old flagship how's battery . I m planning to buy

  • Hi all, Do you think it's still worth it to buy this phone? And objectively what do recommend: S8 or nova 3?

  • Got the update today. Thanks a lot samsung. Now I won't bother looking at s9 anymore ;) the super slow-mo was the only thing that it would make me buy the s9. Maybe at android 9.0 s8 will get dolby atmos, who knows? :)

  • Great news Scorpio :) delighted for you.

  • ar Emoji is now available including September security patch 500mb plus size

  • ar emoji is now available.update yours now

  • Great performance with a 4k recording capabilty.

  • Following on from my earlier camera problems I took my phone to the Telstra tech desk here in Melbourne and had them check it. Of course when they looked at it there was no apparent problem (Murphy's law) but nevertheless they backed my entire phone onto an sd card and then totally reset the phone. They restored from the sd card and the phone is now like brand new and even seems to have better battery life so if nothing else they certainly must have cleaned out a heap of junk. Very very happy.

  • Which one is better???? Samsung s8 or one plus 6???

  • Hi guys! I'm experiencing problems with my phone (Samsung S8). I'm using it for 11 months now. In the 5th month when I'm charging it, it says that it has moisture in charging port but never put near water. And now, I think yesterday while playing it becomes pixelated and hot.

  • Take Care Phone Is Your Responsible. Don't Blame On Samsung! Degraded Over Time Of Use Its Natural! I Had This Phone For Long Still Running Super Snappy, Except For Small Dead Pixel Drop Before, Other Wise It Is A Great Handset!

  • You need your own theme tune!

  • Im not buying a Samsung anymore. Too expensive to be a shit of phone. 1. I have never dropped the phone and the screen started cracking by it self after one month i bought it. 300 hundred dollers to fix it ? no way 2 The camera have a little problem that i sometimes have to hit it to get it to work 3. The battery does not last long 4 And now after one year the phone suddently stopped working. I am thinking of buying a sony or nokia, never again a samsung or expending 1000 dollers on a phone,

  • Ya right. Waiting time is draining battery too. All androids are same 100 yo 95% drop very fast

  • S8 from the point of view of durability and reability is very poor. search on internet about S8 known and common issues and you wil see... main S8 get broken after less than one year. I am also thinking my next phone could be Sony, Nokia... not Samsung anymore. Sony XZ3 that should be release soon is cool.

  • The best smartphone ever!! Have bought mine in July 2017 Its been an awesome journey since then :)

  • Galaxy s8 ofc. Xz1 is ancient compared to this and tge camera is much better on the s8

  • which one is better Sony Xperia xz1 or Samsung s8?. I'm a heavy user... 😁 😁 😁 any help please?. I play cox and ml. 😊

  • i am confusing about what to buy the mobile,,,, samsung s9 or s8 or sony xz1?

  • Wow you are definitely a pessimist. Samsung have virtually given you a new phone and instead of being grateful and acknowledging their support, you moan that it will happen again.

  • I hear you and I'm not knocking you for not liking something, we are all different I completely get that. Fair play. It's all about opinions and preference that's was never the issue. It's just that many of the things that you are saying about the phone I just don't recognise and you bought (I would assume after at least a little bit of research? E.g looking at reviews, handling the phone beforehand, did you just pick the phone without knowing nothing about it? I will just list a few things I have an issue with as regards to your criticism and hey, feel free to tell me if you don't think I have a point. Ok, you were going on about screen protectors and how they don't fit, well to be fair that's not Samsung's fault, it's surely the fault of whoever manufactures screen protectors? The same you brought up folio cases, I'd say is that Samsung's fault? No! The fingerprint sensor position, surely you knew where it's position was? Where did you think it was? And the phone has multiple ways to unlock the phone, surely that's a good thing, no? Look at the IPhone X it doesn't even have that capability, and it's compromise at the end of the day, the IPhone X had to cut a whopping big chunk out of the screen to accommodate the face recognition for example, the S8 has almost edge to edge screen, and as you have admitted you really like the screen, so would you of preferred Samsung to cut out a notch for a fingerprint scanner? You have listed 'faulty camera' the phone does NOT have a faulty camera but when you say 'faulty camera' then that would imply that all S8's have a faulty camera, that that's the way it's meant to be and that's not true. It's false information as far as I'm concerned. Bixby? You may not like Bixby and to tell you the truth I just don't use it, but the button can be disabled and it's an additional feature, you can take it or leave it, you are not forced, but once again just a miniscule amount of research would of told you that the phone had Bixby and it was a major driver behind the marketing campaign. Tv ads the lot. Heating of the phone, well once again I never have an issue with the phone overheating, wait, ok i tell a lie, granted it's got pretty warm when using VR for a while but hey it uses a lot of resources, I'd be amazed if no other phone didn't get warm playing or doing something that pushes its capabilities to the limit, but this phone has a high benchmark when compared to similiar devices, if your phone is overheating with 'normal.use' then that is not right, that shouldn't happen, and if you are getting issues when using a particular app, then has it ever crossed your mind that it could be the app? Stereo Speakers, well surely you knew it didn't have stereo speakers, surely you at least had some idea of what you were buying, I don't see any reason to moan about that.after buying it, if you want stereo speakers then simply buy a phone with stereo speakers, Anyway I will stop now, I think I have given you a wee idea as to why I thought you were not being balanced and fair to the phone. By the way, really appreciate that you did reply and in the way you replied. Respect :)

  • "it will get broken again" Wow, at last! We have a Psychic in the house! Can I please have Saturdays Lottery Numbers?

  • My only advise to you is watch out for fakes if you have your heart set on buying the headset that came with the S8's, it's just that there are plenty of fakes on the market and I've seen that people have been caught out. I don't know if you are aware but if you are looking to replace a set that you already purchased with the S8 due to.a fault then they are covered by the warranty, it's a shorter warranty though (only 6 months,.may be different in your country) I had a replacement set sent out, just called up Samsung told and I didn't even need to send the faulty ones back, just told them there was a problem and they were posted through my letterbox within days.

  • Could be, but if you look at the article that I posted the link to, it pre-dates Oreo,.It's from November 2017 and if the problem was fixed by tapping the lens then that to me would not point to a software issue. I'm just saying, would hate that it if your phone had developed perhaps an intermittent problem and it works well for you for the remainder of your warranty period then bang it comes back. But hey I could be barking up the wrong tree. Can't say I've had same issue with the battery but you are perhaps far more observant than me.

  • This phone make me to say: "I hate my phone!" You know that guys that says: I love my phone. No, I hate it. It comes back from service after 2 weeks due to all sensors broken problem(one oft the 4 common problems for this phone). They replaced mainboard, display and battery(kit) LOL Hate it, do not trust it at all for durability, it will get broken again when I will need it more like last time. I want too sell it but I would get around 350-400$ for it and I bought it new less than one year ago for 700$... Anyway, I will not buy a Samsung again ever in my life. This company does not care about quality. But is my fault, after Note 7 episode I still bought a Samsung...

  • I am just saying that something with such a high price tag should not have this many issues. There are some good things about phone: Looks beautiful Has awesome screen I might sound harsh but it's sad to pay 800 Euros for something and then fall victim of design flaws. 1. Bixby 2. Fingerprint scanner location 3. Faulty camera 4. Heating of the phone 5. No stereo Then, poor software optimization which caused battery drain, lagging and phone would occassionally freeeze. I overall had bad experience with this phone, which doesn't have to mean someone else won't enjoy it. I just can't reccomend it as a good buy.

  • Try not to let it go below 15%.

  • I am only one having battery draining at 15% and jump to 6% after secs with no usage?

  • Thanks for all that. I'm left to wonder whether the problem may be related to the Oreo update as everything was fine before then. I also feel that my battery runs down much quicker since I updated.

  • Yeah, it must of been a faulty phone. I see that you have an IPhone SE now and that you are enjoying it. I personnaly don't feel that your constant bashing of the phone is fair, you just have to do a bit of research to see that the phone was launched with high critical claim. And to say phone like that shouldn't even make it to a store at a first place I also think that that's a bit harsh too and you are a naive if you believe that the S8 is the only phone that has developed a fault for the minority of users that purchase the phone. I think if you take of the blinkers and dare to look to see if your beloved IPhone SE is blemish free then you may then understand why I think your comments are harsh and quite frankly prejudiced.

  • Yeah it's the same here in the UK with the 2 year warranty, certainly gives you peace of mind. Had a wee look on gsmarena and they actually highlighted the issue if you didn't know. You would think it was a hardware issue if you have to physically tap the lens in order for it to work. Here's the link if you haven't seen it or for those that haven't :)

  • Good phone but freezes at times and you have to turn off display and turn it on again to unfreeze it

  • Thanks.... Am impressed by the phone esp the signal reception....

  • 1% drop per hour should be ok.

  • hi guys, new user of the s8.... Am not power user....no facebook, no twitter, no instagram, occasional whatsapp...noticed the battery barely makes it by the second day. have chosen mid battery saver, disabled nfc, wifi, bluetooth, on gsm network..overnight drain is around 7%. Is this normal?

  • From my experience, yes. I often had issues with lag after few months of normal use. And it would sometimes just freeze for a while and screen would be unresponsive... I most likley had defective unit tho, judging from my camera issues. But overall - phone like that shouldn't even make it to a store at a first place.

  • It only happened the one time and actually freaked me out a little but I remember someone here suggesting that you merely need to tap the camera lens which is what I did and all was perfect again. I haven't had to use it since so I'm hoping that it was just an aberration. I will use it again though as my phone has a 2 year warranty with Telstra here in Australia.

  • So it's not EVERY game! So why say that? I'm losing the will to live. I give up. Bye

  • "And it will lag and freeze in few months of it's use" So the S8's will just lag and freeze after a few months?

  • Scorpio, I trust what you say is true as I know that you are not a troll :) Its very hard to tell who is telling the truth and many of the posts I see are posts that are super exaggerated to try and make a point or simply trolling. I will also apologise to anyone that does have a genuine fault and I have dismissed them :)

  • Read more comments here and also google it. I'm not trolling, blurry S8 camera is a real issue for big part of S8 users. And it will lag and freeze in few months of it's use.

  • Oops here's where I end up with egg on my face. Until now my phone has been perfect. I've taken hundreds of photos and all have been sharp and perfect. two days ago I had to take a photo of an incident and it was blurry. I tapped the camera lens and took another photo and it had returned to perfection. Can't tell if it will happen again but I will re-test it. I apologise to all those who I had doubted.

  • I would like to buy the headphones that come with this phone, your recommendations? Thanks

  • Also i can drop geekbench results 2000/6700 and at throttling i receive 1600/4600 ot 1750/5500 kind of results. Not all restarts fix it

  • Not every. Example Vainglory after some time it drop fps a sometime and keep this way after longer gameplay. I play Lineage 2 too heavy graphics game after heating in short time game is struggling.. Drop is easy noticeable. This wasnt prob. until few weeks ago...

  • Had a little look at some of your posts, are we talking about Fortnite? If so I could spend all night listing comments about people claiming the phones heating up or lag or whatever and it's not just your phone that has issues. For example and as I said I could create an endless list. "My phone lags to the point of being unplayable at times" (Note 9) "I play on iPhone X and 1st gen iPad Pro and both suffer these problems" "Seriously!?... how unoptimized is this damn game for mobile? You’re playing on the best mobile devices money can currently buy and the game still runs like poop. How is this not a bigger issue and how is Epic Games not getting flamed for making such a (thus far) crap port?"

  • Yes, I have the August update and 206 games installed on my phone. So every single game is struggling? that's what you are saying now, yeah? Every single game?

  • Mine is perfect since day one, no problem whatsoever, a real joy to use...never heard about having to shake the phone camera. Smelling troll, aren't we ?

  • Did you updated to august security patch... After that every game is struggling and often fps droping i dont have to lie im telling the truth. Bench score is 200k but with games its overheating and throttling

  • Same here, taken loads of photos, never had to shake the phone or whatever....first I've heard of it. I smell BS

  • Well you must have a different phone from me. I've had since launch and still flying. Will put your post in the FAKE NEWS pile.

  • My s8 still working very good after 1 year and 2 month using. Battery stil lasting around 18-20 hours with 4+ hours sot..

  • Throttling is real. 1 year later struggling very hard yhis phone. Im very dissapointed!

  • Good mobile. But must be fit cooling fan Also finger print location not compatable to quik unlock.

  • If your S6 edge + is still serving you good then please don't gamble with the S8. Or if you really want to upgrade then check on S9 or other brands' flagships.

  • Same here. I expected more out of Samsung flagship. If there were just some software flaws, I would understand that, but faulty hardware on 700€ device??? Phone looks awesome, but design is bad for use. Too bad they made same mistakes on S9 and even the Note9...

  • It was 100% original (I even checked IMEI) and was getting updates and everything. It's most likley I got a faulty device then... It does have an awesome camera tho, too bad that you sometimes have to shake it or give it slight kick (harder tap) with your finger into the back of the phone to finally focus. It really ruins the experience of having such an expensive phone and have to physically force it to do what it's supposed to do. And there's NO EXCUSE for Bixby button! Or Oreo update which was SOOO LATE to still be buggy after it finally arrived. Now I expect at least better software support from Apple. I'll see how it goes.

  • I actually did found it, but it was still crap despite it's price...

  • Did you ever consider returning it under warranty. I have taken hundreds of photos with my s8 and they are perfect. You either have a very defective phone or you've been sold a copy.

  • Have my S8 for more than a year. Very happy with it, no problem whatsoever. Camera fantastic, especially in low light. I don't use any case or screen protection, just a small soft pouch. But i am very careful, it ever fell. Love it.

  • if you cannot find curved glass to protect the screen, I don't know where you are living.. its not the problem of the phone.. its the problem of the business ppl in ur country.. i bought a 3D curved glass for my new S9, last night..

  • I'm currently using the S6 edge+ which is still as good as new with spectacular camera compared to the flagship in today's time although it won't be upgraded to Oreo but I still got the August security patch update. I was actually interested in the S8 but after reading the negative comments about the camera being blurry and knocking the camera to take pics has let me off so I'll stick with my S6 edge+

  • Unfortunately I was not expecting for a flagship phone to have that kind of odd fix to the camera which Sammy boasted during that time.

  • yesss

  • Terrible design probelms for this phone, repeat design problems, not only some issues here and there, but lots of users encounted them: 1. sensors stop working, hardware problem, need mainboard replace... 2. boolooping, phone continously restarting, not sure if SW or HW problem here? 3. camera focus get stuck, mechanical design problem? 4. moisture detected in usb port and hard to get rid of it Very disappointing by this phone. sent it to service due to point 1. problem. I will never buy a Samsung again because of S8 very poor quality.

  • If "this phone was biggest dissapointment in my life" then please can I have your life?

  • This phone was biggest dissapointment in my life. You can't find curved glass to protect the screen, and book case sucks bad. And you can't use it one handedly at all with book case. Then - my camera is blurry and won't focus till I shake the phone like a milkshake??? Then the lag I mean screen would literally turn unresponsive for a while, or I would need to tap "back" over and over again on Instagram... And heat, S8 was heating like crazy, screen would get hot to the touch all the time, back of the device too, and especially aluminum frame + poor battery life. Then Bixby button which drives you crazy, iris scanner that I would never use and fingerprint scanner which was bad + on bad location so I never used it. I still miss this phone a bit tho, it's screen was nice.

  • I don't want to tap 700€ phone to fix it! Blurry camera sucks!

  • This phone is also why I won't buy Samsung phone ever again...

  • Thanks for the advice :)

  • I got the same problem with S8 rear camera. And when it get blurry you need to knock twice the back of the phone near the camera with your fingernail. Voila! the camera is good again

  • Same here.. Due to super fragility of S8, shifted to p20 lite..

  • Before android 8.0 mine couldn't last more than 12 hours on social network usage. Now it can last more than a day even with gps and bluetooth activated (I have a jbl speaker) on social network usage. If you play fortnite or PUBG mobile it can last maybe 3-3.5 hours continuosly. I was highly dissapointed before but now it exceeded my expectations. Don't go with plus version,it's a nightmare to even hold it. I know, I know, battery lasts 30%-50% more, but my hands are much more valuable than a phone. Your phone, your choice. Regards.

  • I'm interested in buying the S8, just wanna know how's the battery life? I'm not a gamer but I'm highly active on social networking sites. Can it last for a day on that? Thanks.

  • Use google chrome

  • I got a Mate 10 which is still performing very well even after 9 months.

  • So what did you end up getting and are you totally satisfied? Apart from the camera how does everything else compare. Wish you luck.

  • S8

  • Easily crack screen, 1yr, 3 screen. Been a mobile user for 20+ years never had crack screen.

  • Galaxy s8 or mi note 3 ? Which is better ???

  • I'm having pop ups on my home page even after I block pop ups. how can I fix this?

  • I did and the problem recurred after a week. So I traded the unit for a different brand and totally eliminated the problem.

  • i had a few Samsung phones but after the s8 i will never buy another one, Samsung needs to realise that everyone has a phone for a different purpose and mine is business, this phone doesn't even belong in the business arena, everytime you do an update that is forced upon you the phone is stuffed, things like a double lock screen and having to swipe it like 50 times to back out of a simple call or sms because of all the crap notifications that pop up and whole lot more that i cant remember, but now the latest no sms notification tone and appears nothing can be done about it, bit hard when you run a business and your heads down tail up trying to get work done and rely on notification tones from customers or even family in an emergency not to mention i have spent hours in total that i don't have to try fix every time its updated, what a pile of rubbish just like the I phone, its my phone i want control over it not Samsung and its not like they are cheap, nah im going the new nokia, give that a try as samsungs phones no longer suit my needs.

  • Sorry Dominique I really thought that you were spreading mischief because my phone is so good. Have you taken it in for service or perhaps it is still under warranty.

  • When you get the blurry rear camera just need to double tap on the middle of the screen and that will fix it.

  • Hello guys, please can you help me, i want to buy phone, i have 2 choices. Samsung galaxy s8 or Huawei p20. Can you tell me witch is better?

  • Yes it is. I used mine in water multiple times. And u can clean it with a dam cloth or any other way ppl usually clean their phones

  • I bought it from a SAMSUNG store and if you want to prove it for yourself, just go into S8 users' forums. Do you know that no other than Samsung accepted this problem right after they launched the S9? ------ Here's a sample of a user's issue: S8 camera focus issue My wife and I both received our S8s yesterday. Her phone has an issue with the rear facing camera. The focus seems to be stuck at about 30cm. Anything further away is just a blur. What to do? We've tried the clear cache and memory solution that seemed to be a fix for a similar S7 camera issue, and it's not resolved the problem.

  • Absolute rubbish comment. The phone is flawless and the camera first class. If you have a problem go to your dealer. It may be that you have a copy phone and not a genuine s8.

  • Camera is always experiencing "blurring" problem.

  • All sensors are not working anymore. no GPS, no light sensor, no proximity sensor... I will send today the phone to warranty but not expected this from Samsung S series. The phone is not even 1 year old. very disappointing...

  • Buy an wireless charger in this case.

  • same problem here. very annoying... need to send phone to warranty? not expected this from Samsung S line.

  • Do all S8 got world wide warranty? In India and Middle East Asia they don't offer world wide warranty.

  • Its not true. All flagship device of S series got minimum two major updates. Same will be happen with S8 too. It will definitely get Android P. But you already know how fast is Samsung for rolling out major OS updates...;)

  • Never encountered situation like this.

  • Place the phone inside raw rice and keep it for at least 24 hours.

  • Place the phone inside raw rice and keep it for at least 24 hours.

  • S8 or s9

  • My S8 is not even 1 year old and ALL SENSORS GOT BROKEN !!! no GPS, no light sensor, no proximity sensor... I read lots of reports of users on forums wiht same problem on S8, S8 Plus, Note 8, so is not a isolated case. This is really embarrassing for a company like Samsung and a phone from S line. It seems that Samsung quality actually does not exist. remember episode with Note 7. I WILL NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PHONE AGAIN! neither me or my family and I will tell to all friends how bad Samsung phone are from the point of view of reliability over time.

  • I believe international models have the equinox chip.

  • I think you are facing this issue after getting new update, right?

  • Hey GSMARENA please help me,I got August security update last week after updating to this I have serious problem with device, all sensors except fingerprint scanner stopped working, not only me but majority of August patch users facing this issue......

  • Could you please confirm me weather all variants of S8 has SD 835 chip (G950F, G950FD, G950u etc). Someone says some variants have only Exynose chip. Thanks
