  • Great phone! To the reader whose GS3 wouldn't connect to the PC. Try changing ur usb cable. I had the same problem, tried what u tried but to no avail, at least permanently. But I swap the usb cable from my Nexus 7 and bingo worked like a charm, permanently. Another usb cable that works is a LG.

  • There's now also a T999L version being sold by T-Mobile USA that has LTE. Specs are otherwise the same, just to add LTE on the AWS spectrum. They have different software builds, but the T999L is also on 4.1.2. The differences in software are explained here:

  • We have no official ETA from Samsung or any carrier on the 4.2.x updates. However you can get 4.2.2 using custom ROMS if you know what you're doing. (Not recommended as flashing custom opting systems voids your warranty and 4.1.x is still very good. there's not many changes in point one releases. )

  • i got the GS3 on my companie's work benefit website Worker Advantage, but walmart had it on sale for $98 with a 2 yr contract and they give you a $50 gift card..thats a sweet deal but all cariers basically have them for $98 w/2 yr contract..... and i found out this model will have LTE... i spoke to Tmo and Samsung.... basically there is no magical "LTE Radio" to them... its more like the carrier having LTE network broadcasted thru their normal network signal... thats how it was explained to me from a Samsung tech support agent.

Tmo will give u an unlock code every 90 days to any phone u purchase from them and I know this model has no LTE radio but I'm catching speeds of 12 MBPS in my location which is plenty fast, this phone is a good choice.   • Do you have the mobile hot spot service on your data plan? You can't use the hot spot without paying for it within your plan.

  • I can confirmed that this SGH III T999 supports 4G. After updating to Jelly Bean the 4G option just show up in Engineering mode. You can also find it out when trying to access data in instead of 3G it will show a 4G indicator.

  • Updated to Version 4.1 OTA a few weeks back, and recently went into the connectivity settings. Saw LTE among the types of connections under "Network Mode". I've looked at 3 different phones that were updated to the same software version and LTE shows up on all 3. Dunno if this is a glitch or what, but I'm hopeful.

  • This is an amazing phone, but not made physically too rich. Guts are awesome, though and this is what we need. There needs to be some type of RAM group get together against the carriers, though because the T999 loses nearly .5gb of RAM due to TMO's software that is a nuisance. Bad marketing, but awesome phone.

  • There is really no problem with receiving a T999 instead of the I9300 unless international phone service is used, but the T999 has WiFi calling software that only TMO offers.

  • Awesome phone! I've been through 4 smartphones over the last 12 months and have found the one that will do what I want it to do. I upgraded to 4500mAh batteries and running much longer than the 2100 standard battery. All highend smartphones should come with minimum of 3000mAh and at least 2gb of RAM.

  • ESN is "Electronic Serial Number" It applies to only CDMA phones . It is like IMEI. BAD means it may banned/stolen/contract terminated ones. Good means you can use it with any compatible carrier.

  • This is because of TMO frequency... thus requiring a radio hardware. It looks like Samsung didn't have the SOC chipset necessary for TMO US.

  • Check your new phone for permanent "ink spots" on the screen! Get a pitch-black picture and look at it fullscreen in your gallery in a dark room. If your screen looks grey-ish with small smears/spots of darker black instead of pure, smooth, can-barely-tell-it's-on black..the display is defective. Amoled screen blacks are fantastic when made right, it's not a problem with the tech, it's a problem with how THIS particular first-run was made.

  • haha I think you got me wrong, no one agrees with you more about the Android Operating System, however there's no denying that Nokia is the best magnufacturers of cell phones, their OS isn't all that, but it's decent and their phones are still very competitive in terms of performance, I have a Samsung Galaxy, I really think Samsung are the ones shining right now, I just don't agree that Apple iPhone is better than Samsung or Nokia.

Nokia's softwares and hardwares are so outdated...As much as I love Nokia ( i still have my 8810 btw), i really wish they'd make the jump to Android OS and stop fantasising about their Symbian or MeeGo aspirations...The Android platform is so well design that it makes everything so much user friendly. I personally have the T999 coming from a I717...and God does that 2GB RAM make a big difference. I'm currently runnning CM9 nightly on mine...and finally the true potential of this phone is finally revealing itself.

  • Just got my Galaxy S III T999 32GB. Just to let you know: the PHONE IS MADE IN CHINA. Build quality so far seems good. When I unboxed it, found a long strand of hair inside the box LOL.

  • Saw this phone in person wow it's huge, way to big what a shame. Wish they would have just stuck with a 4" size screen from the original Galaxy but in HD. I prefer a phone I can actually fit in my pocket. I hate Apple but they seem to be the only company with a flagship phone that gets this!

  • Impressive when you pick it up. Surprised at the size. Read all of the comments about its size but when I put my Galaxy S with soft plastic sleeve, you would be hard pressed to see that they weren't the same width. Yes, it's slightly longer but who cares about the screen sticking out above your hand. The thing that SHOCKS ME is that the manager at corporate T-Mobile wrote back to me that this phone has no LTE hardware even though T-Mobile starts the next generation LTE next summer with field trials beginning now. Say what! This phone become $600 of obsolete hardware as quickly as twelve months from today. THAT'S CRAZY. Screen pixels per inch are just a teeny bit lower than the HTC One, what I found amazing is that I could easily see this difference without difficulty. So, Samsung took the lesser screen capability for battery life. First thing, load up Speed Test! In the store, 4G was 2-3 Mbps. My Galaxy S 3G was 1.3-1.8 Mbps. My Verizon Hotspot was 13-15 Mbps! All in the store at the same time. So, before I go on, let my say a few things. I am the first T-Mobile customer in the US as I bought a phone on the first day. Second, my Sprint hotspot was dropping out too often, say once per 15 minutes with a five second reconnect time interval. My current Verizon hotspot records 13-15 Mbps peak but it can take forever to download some tiny file, why, because Verizon spends a significant amount of your data allotment to upload aka steal all of your personal information. A tiny file would be downloaded but my upload arrow is pumping away, up, up, up. This doesn't happen on the other carriers, as they steal it less noticeably. Another Verizon point is that it takes 25 SECONDS TO RECONNECT about once every ten minutes! Very frustrating. But I do not know why, but 3G T-Mobile never disconnects even if it is running a hundred times slower!!! Perhaps it is running at the strong 800 - 900 frequency instead of the weak 1700 - 2100 frequency range. The next test was YouTube video comparison between S3, S, HTC1, and my Tab 10.1. The Tab 10.1 is high definition and the S3 and HTC1 use about 60% of the vertical screen so its not HD. First, you must turn off the auto screen brightness setting because otherwise it will be way too dark. I distinctly noticed blurring in both the S3 and HTC1. It hurts my eyes when my Tab 10.1 is held next to them. Next photographs, there is some kind of software issue when looking at pics as it pushes the pic to half the screen showing. Notwithstanding this issue, I took a known Pixel Peeper photo taken with a 200mm f2.0 lens, so I know I can see pores, downy hair and skin cells on a pretty model's face. Galaxy S3 is excellent. This confuses me because how can the video be so bad but the photographs are vibrant with true colors? I think the processor is too slow for video. The white vs. blue color? The white is really creme and the blue is a fingerprint magnet because it is like a shiny mirror with greasy fingers touching the mirror. Whoever chose the blue should be fired and the creme shows no fingerprints. I hated the white and wanted the blue when I saw it on the Internet but completely changed my mind after holding each in my hand. Creme is the way to go. The vividness of the colors in the icons is unlike any phone that I have ever held and I must say that the iPhone pales in this one dramatic quality. I like the iPhone retina screen but its muted colors and tiny screen size make it a loser. No wnder Apple is in court trying to stop Samsung in the US. Samsung has a superior product. So, where do you buy this as Verizon changes its plans since talking and texting usage ard waning and data increases are going to blow off the roof. Verizon is charging an arm and leg for unlimited data 10G with talk and text. Sprint is going to follow. ATT tower coverage is just plain bad. And T-Mobile throttles you to 2G speeds after you hit 5Gig. I say wait until Summer 2013 at T-Mobile! Tough decision.

  • You can call T-mobile and have them give you the unlock code. Tell them exactly you want to travel outside the country and they will unlock it for you. At least that is what I did with my my touch 4g

  • The international version does "NOT" support the 1700/2100 band, witch t-mo USA uses. Therefore the reason for the dual core down grade. I hear rumors that t-mo USA is currently moving there 4g (1700/2100) to 1900 witch would make the I9300(international Version) Compatible with the same top speeds currently available on t-mobile USA, as well as the current AT&T HSPA+ (NOT LTE). So if t-mo rumors are true it would be well worth buying the I9300 version but if your like me you would have to suck it up to an at&t MVNO like RedPocket, than once the t-mo 1900 switch is complete by the end 0f 2012 switch back to t-mo or an MVNO like simple mobile witch sucks. I'm gonna go with T-mo monthly 4g cause simple mobile customer service sucks and if a dealer puts the wrong plan there's no correcting it, sucks and lame.

  • I have purchased this product day before yesterday from Samsung Plaza showroom in India .... it has fantastic camera ...Image stabilisation is great ... fantastic voice quality... Internet functions are fast ....the drawback is that the phone is not handy ... I feel it is too big for holding it..( i cant blame the company its my fault) ... Another issue , which i have still to confirm is , the battery drains fast .... Some of of my friends told me that I should have purchased Apple iphone4S instead of this ...
