Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) - User Reviews

  • Well I bought this Tab the day it was released here in west coast canada and its never disappointed me with its newly acquired enslavement to me and my demands for apps. I will have to agree that the placement of the speakers can make you scratch your head, but Dolby Atmos can remedy that. I say if you want a good tab with good specs and you want to have a large screen just so you can have a large screen, then go for it. There's nothing it could possibly need to do for you that's going to burst its ram and fail you. I bought it and I bought a Samsung A70 as it's buddy. They both compliment each other nicely. .

  • Not true

  • This tab does not have a GPS chip in it: without WiFi or GSM it does not know its location, be aware. Also the 32GB model only has 2 GB or RAM.

  • Is tha charges fast?

  • No it doesn't

  • Does this tab come with a fast charger out the box.

  • S Pen is not supported

  • Good day :) Display is mat or mirror surface ?

  • Hi guys, can anyone tell me how long does it take to fully charge this tablet? Its been drained for days or weeks(no idea). Want to know if the battery was damaged or something.

  • is This Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) For Studying ? What is the operating battery time Life how many hours it last ?

  • can it be use with s pen?

  • It's a cracking tablet for the price. Good screen. Great performance not experienced any lag. Even playing AAA titles like call of duty and Real Racing 3. Not bad battery life. My only niggle the placing on the speakers seems daft placing on same side so no stereo effect when watching a film.

  • Sadly beg to differ mate.im currently playing call of duty mobile and real racing 3 granted on low settings, all the no lag at all.

  • only 585 model has cellphone capabilities

  • Review after 4 months or whatever (bought it at launch). It's good new tablet for 200 euro. You can feel some lag when switching thru multiple apps , probably due to memory or cpu. Display was certainly a dissapointment, does not go very bright and it's not even comparable to amoled even on cheaper phones (e.g A40 which I have). Battery life is about 2+ days with 4-6 hours of screen on time (web browsing, reddit, coin master), standby 100-0 maybe a week. Charging speed is SLOW. Good connection to wifi and 4g, always 5 bars. Has slight bend issue on the middle located at sim tray. A lot of cons but ii's great for its intented purpose, but I would recommed you get S5e if you consume a lot of media. Also if you have this go ask samsung to make Call and Message Continuity work for this aswell. Would make a perfect cheap bundle with this and A40.

  • Sandy tab A10 with two styles with sim and without sim card

  • Can it be used for calling ??

  • Does not have gyro

  • smart cover does not work ..no proximity /magnetic sensor as far i know

  • Probably it has compass and it will work with any compass app you install even if it's not pre-installed. Or that or they made a mistake...

  • out of factory with no Touch ID or Face ID? (In 2019)

  • am buy this Tab A 10.1 2019. This not have compass. am buy after check spec review on spec in this web and my Language in Thailand review not review Compass App, But that show on Spec. My tab model LTE Ram3/32

  • What you mean "has a built in C Pen"? In all the reviews no one talks about it, I went to a store to see it yesterday and they told me i had to buy a pen separate. I'm pretty sure this thing has no pen and is not even good to draw with the pen because they told me my hand would interfere with the drawing, on opposite of the tablets that support the "S Pen"

  • Has anyone noticed that their screens aren't truly white when Blue Light filter is off? Like the screen has a faint yellowish tint to it?

  • It has a built in "C pen" not "S pen"!

  • 2Gb Ram is excellent for office uses ect..

  • I think It depends on the model

  • Sadly no but the c pen will do the job!

  • The tablet has a built in stylus

  • For those worried about the lack of ram. 2gb is enough for reading and media browsing. This is not a gaming tablet. I bought this tab for grad school, and has been meeting my every expectation. Especially for 200usd.

  • are you sure that hdmi dont work ?

  • Does the Galaxy tab A 10.1 2019 supports stylus/ S Pen

  • MHL is Only for MicroUSB Port, All USB Type C Port is HDMI capable so don't need any Slimport nor MHL anymore, but at this price range Type C port is only for charging and OTG not HDMI

  • "Features LED flash, panorama" - NO ! no LED flash! Correct yourself

  • i just cant find out what type of nano card im supposed to use for tab a galaxy , anyone help ?

  • Does not his support mhl?

  • there is no flash on this tablet

  • No it won't supports samsung s pen but u can use rubidium pen

  • Yes u can send and receive msg and u can make call also if u buy LTE version though bluetooth, earphones and loudspeakers

  • LTE supported single sim

  • No

  • Does the tablet support S-pen?

  • Yes in LTE model

  • does it have sim card option

  • Good simple tablet, midrange. Cameras are ok but no great, very good screen and speakers, fast UI. With a memory card and a Sim card it is a good buy for the cheap price. 3GB/32GB model

  • No sim card

  • Yes. It should all of that perfectly fine.

  • Hi can anyone tell me if the tablet can send and receive text messages (also make calls)? Want to use it for 2-factor authentication but need to know first before I buy.

  • would you guys recommend this tablet for office use (emails, writing a simple document), watching movies and maybe light gaming (such as temple run)? I was thinking about buying the 2gb ram model (no sim card) but the reviews I saw online they give mix opinions about it and would appreciate users who actually are using it rather than 10 mins of online review

  • Have sum card slot? Is it dual sim card?

  • No mistake it depends on the country. Samsung in the Philippines sells only the version with LTE version with 2GB/32GB, but sells in Thailand only the LTE version with 3GB/32GB...I just bought one.

  • I just bought the 3 GB/32GB version in Thailand...great budget tablet under 300 dollars, with Sim card. Good cameras, speaker excellent and screen good too. Big screen in compact size. Love it

  • There is no review on review on GSM Arena I wonder.. Okay, It is mistake on banner where it is mentioned as 3GB. But in specs page it is rightly mentioned as 2/3GB combinations.

  • Dear GSM ARENA, Please review correctly. You have mentioned 3 GB RAM, where as the Tablet the WiFi Model and LTE Model Physically has only 2 GB RAM. Your Review made some customers to buy from Amazon and made to feel sorry for the Purchase For me 2 GB RAM is sufficient to read online books and Ebooks... for Gamers it may not be sufficient You are doing a good and marvelous service, but not at the cost of consumer. Please Review accurately and do continue your Techo Service wonderfully Thanks Once Again

  • TFT

  • Does this tablet support stylus ?

  • ips or tft?

  • Yes, otg

  • Gorilla Glass 3

  • Does not appear to have a magnetic compass is you actually test the tablet with compass apps.

  • I needed to decide between A10.1 2019 and A 10.5 2018...shop assistant told me 10.5 is not sold anymore...And no more accessories too. So it will be the newest 10.1.

  • Um... Are you aware this is a tablet?

  • To make a call , either you have to use speaker or headphone. It does not have earpeace speaker.

  • Anyone else having trouble with connecting to wifi and bluetooth ?? As i turn both on and they turn off on there own and i cant connect to any wifi or turn on my bluetooth what so ever

  • No. It depends on countries i guess...mine have 3 GB ram and 32 GB memory.

  • It's a great semi-budget tablet that runs like a flagship model. Please not the other comments are NOT accurate. You get 2GB of RAM in the 32GB model, and 3GB of RAM in the 64GB and 128GB models. Get the 64 of 128, the extra gig of RAM is worth the price.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019)

  • Just bought a 10.1 2019 with 3 GB ram, 32 GB memory, Sim card tray with LTE...big screen for a small size tablet. Great

  • I had the Tab A 10.5 2016 before, this one is better. I can use a Sim card, it is more compact and lighter with still a big screen. 3GB ram and 32 GB internal memory. Great strereo speakers too, cameras ok but no flash. For 300 euros, i don't regret it.

  • Can it run pubg

  • Is that speeding up the charging?

  • I'm currently using Tab A (2016), no fast charging is fine. Keep in mind that this is a mid-level entry tablet. This screen to price ratio is fantastic! To top it off additional 1GB RAM!

  • No fast charging, what a waste.

  • otg?

  • Nope, just got this tab. Charging using a 45 watt USB-PD charger. Slow as helll.

  • they should have provided all sensors and at least 3gb of RAM

  • #ShameSung That's why people prefer xiaomi. Big cons: No Sensors Only 2gb RAM No Stereo Sound Average Processor No Fingerprint Sensor No Fast charging

  • Tablets like these are waste. My MI pad from 2014 had 2gb ram and costed less than this. And still runs wonderfully, but it's slow charging is albeit pain. It's hard to find a tablet to upgrade to India. Honor and Samsung need to wake up and stop making useless tablets. What good are those big batteries if fast charging is not provided, 2gb ram is utterly useless. I understand they can't provide everything in cheaper models, but these are essential things!

  • Ya i too wanna u bcoz the original charger came in the box is too slow like it takes 5 hrs to charge

  • There are 5 models: SM-T295, SM-T295N, SM-T295C, SM-T297 and SM-T290.

  • Any idea whether this tablet is supporting fast charging? Nowhere on Samsung website is mentioned.

  • A feed back from Samsung Official feed back this model are limitation model. Cerrently this model will be list out from their focus model and will be discontinue in August This model cant support too much things, even dont have a internal dual messenger. Old technology new launch produt, better go for world ranking top 1 huawei tablets.

  • Is this using gorila glass? what type Of glass is this?

  • Stuck too much and alots of apps not supported by its not worth it at all between the tab A 2019 and the tab A6 2016 the tab A6 2016 win in all

  • Get the 3GB 2019 version.

  • It does support OTG, not a problem.

  • I have just bought it. In the past I was buying only premium devices, but surprisingly this is a really nice tablet. Samsung does not do tablets with built-in S-Pen holster anyways, I might have considered to pay $900 extra on top of these $200 for the tablet with S-Pen inside, but fortunately Samsung saved my money. I miss only automatic brightness, everything else I don't need (like vibration, health or fingerprint sensor). Unfortunately even cheap tablets now have Apple-like tray, so you need a pin to open it. It still has 3.5 connector though. Good things disappear gradually: replaceable batteries, trays that can be opened by nail, hardware buttons, headphones jacks...

  • 3/32 Gb ROAM, but ... I think this tab did not support OTG and there is just one sensor, accelerometer only.

  • Can some1 give me the procedure of inserting a sim card, size orientation how to use the "ICb" labelled section of the micro sd holder

  • The tablet is great in terms of build quality. When it comes to performance I found that it's able to do most tasks such as browsing, watching netflix and even gaming quite well. It doesn't blow your mind and stutters sometimes when switching in between heavy apps. The metal body and slim bezels really make it feel premium. I found it has a few drawbacks, there is no light sensor on it which I find very disturbing. I really don't understand how they came to the decision to not include it, seems like a very very dumb idea. Second is the lack of dedicated keyboard cases, unlike the previous generation which had on the side a set of pin connector which enable it to use the Tab S4 keyboard folio. What beats all of these shortcomings is the price, keep an eye out for sales as they are frequent. I managed to get mine for a mere €170 !

  • The processor of the 10.1 is a bit better its like a snapdragon 632ish (the other is a snapdragon 450). This has a good battery life been using it for 2 weeks now but ram management isn't the best the 10.5 would be better since 3gb but this comes with android 9 out of the box (if that matters to u) the other is 8.1. The10.5 has a bigger battery so battery might be better there since a lower cup so more efficient but overall this isnt bad at all if your gonna be doing normal browsing and YouTube its more than enough. Hope this helps.

  • Maybe your model might have an issue but I found the user option available. You have to dig it in the settings . Click on the accounts option and then users and then add user. Hope this helps.

  • Could you help me? I choose between these models Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) and Galaxy Tab 10.5 (2018). I only have it for internet browsing and Youtube watching. Which one is better? I prefer 10.5 model (2018) because it has 3 GB RAM instead of 2 GB RAM (2019), stronger battery, 4 loudspeakers, fast-charging...But I saw some Benchmark or what (I don't understand it :D) and result plays for the 2019 model. But only 2 GB RAM? I think it's not enough for the future. So I don't know, the price difference is 65 USD (57 EUR).

  • BE AWARE NO multiple user profile option with this model!!! I believe, this is the only Samsung model so far that does not seem to support of setting up multiple user profiles. Even the Samsung tech support (when I called and they connected to my tablet to explore it) were confused since the Tab A manual lists it as an option... All other, older, versions of Tab A, Tab E or Tab S and even the other new 2019 models Tab Se5 or Tab S4 have this option but this one! A deal breaker for us since I intended using this tablet as a multi user - a family "shared" device but unfortunately on this model you will not be able to have more than one profile. That is, there is no option to set up a guest profile or a restricted profiles for kids ( to restrict some apps) other than yours. A deal breaker for us.... Be aware. This is NOT MENTIONED IN ANY of the reviews of this tablet.

  • anyone know how this runs oldschool runescape? Its the only thing I will be using it for so I dont want to fork over any more cash than needed.. Also Mi Pad 4 is unavailable in my countrry...

  • Yeah no S pen ... but u gave it to the 8 inch ... why ????????

  • There's a 3GB RAM version of this with LTE. The Wi-Fi only version comes with 2GB RAM that's also cheaper than the 8" one (but that one has LTE, stylus and some other trade-offs)

  • Yes you are right

  • It's an insult that in 2019 Samsung making a tablet with just 2 Ram and unfair that the 8 inch had 3 Ram

  • Yes

  • Performance: Huawei (Kirin 960) > Samsung (Exynos 7904) Screen: Samsung > Huawei Sound: Huawei (Harmon Kardon) = Samsung (Dolby Atmos) Battery: Samsung (6150mAh) > Huawei (5100mAh) OS/UI: Samsung (Android P/One UI) > Huawei (Android O/EMUI)

  • The or the Huawei Mediapad m5 8.4?

  • Is the option smart view on this tablet??

  • HBO GO App does not work ok on it. It is crashung when I try to log in over my provider. Tablet is nice. Good for streaming.

  • Sure only 2GB? There are 3GB version in some online stores.

  • You don't need more than 2gb except for gaming. This tablet is perfect for watching movies and reading books

  • Try amazon.com. I live in australia and just ordered a screen protector and case.

  • Great tablet just can't find a case and screen protector for it.

  • Why is 4GB RAM not already standard on all android devices? What do these companies hope to achieve by fooling the common customer?

  • What do you mean 600 dollar tablet the Mi Pad 4 costs less than 200 dollars

  • You mean your $600 tablet is better then this $300 tablet? Say it ain't so!

  • Yeah, and my iPad pro 2018 will crush the deal out of all of your tablets..

  • Versions: SM-T515 (Wi-Fi); SM-T515 (LTE) OR Versions: SM-T510 !!!! (Wi-Fi); SM-T515 (LTE)

  • My Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus wins this anytime. SD 660 with primary quad A73 + 4GB RAM and 8k mAh battery.

  • no s-pen?????

  • 8 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM for laptops costs about 50 Euro. 4 GB shouldn't increase price.

  • 200+ Euro tablet is alternative to laptop. Gemini Lake laptops have 4 GB RAM. 2 GB RAM isn't enough for multitasking.

  • Only 2 GB of Ram, Seriously?. Its a DEAL BREAKER.. At Least 3 GB was expected even in its lower end varient. 2 Gb is useless.

  • 2gb on an Android device in 2019 should be considered sacrilegious. Unless you want this tablet just for basic stuff, better looks elsewhere. In terms of performance Ipads this days are the best tablets. And they are not that expensive, not iPhone expensive anyway. I mean 300€ for an iPad 2018 9.7" and is light years away than any Android tablet. I know because I had one and also a 8.4" Huawei Media Pad M5. Not to mention the new 2019 iPads have been announced.

  • My only problem with this tablet is 2gb ram (why not 3gb?). Not a deal breaker as I use tablets only for youtube, etc. Also, this one has Pie from the box while most other new tablets come with Oreo.

  • This is the lower end of Samsung Tablet, the one with pen and more ram I guess with the Tablet S series

  • I totally agree with you the person that makes those decisions should get shot

  • No pen supported, i believe, If so, shouldn't produce it!!!

  • Man only 2GB ram for 210 euros thats laughable. This thing starts with Pie out of the box while A series and M series will start at Oreo. Samsung is really weird.
