Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 - User Reviews

  • This tablet is equipped with power hunger processor, more powerful than Tab A with S Pen, high screen resolution will drain battery faster, but the battery is only 4000 mAh which is nearly same with Galaxy Note series battery, do you know that new Galaxy M30s is equipped with 6000 mAh battery? 1.5x bigger than Tab S2 but in very compact body

  • I bought this tab jst some few months a go, unfortunately every I keep having issues with the screen flex and the battery connectors

  • Why my tab s2 8 teh batery fast drain event my tab suicth off..

  • Only the models T715 and T815

  • I've this tablet since launch, about a year ago the rotation sensor stopped worked so I have to use an app to do it manually, but besides that the tablet still functions normally.

  • The battery of this device degrade really fast, and after 3 years of using, when the battery indicator shows that it has about 15% of battery, it will keep auto restart as long as u dont charge it...

  • supprt mhl?

  • I have the tablet since it's been released. Still working well, apart that the battery doesn't not hold as it used to. Good for both reading and watching movies

  • 128 gb is right

  • Are you kidding me? Good for reading!!??!! That is very unhelpful. I have a 10 year old tablet that is "Good for reading"

  • Just bought one, yesterday. I know its old model, but i think that is good for reading.

  • Great tablet, but MHL feature is only for Exynos models...

  • 256gb is the max it will take for MicroSD

  • Hi Can u put up 256gb card into your tab s 2. ??

  • Could anyone tell me if this tab s2 will take a 256gb micro sd or a 128gb card. Because at Costco it said up to 128gb. And gsmarena up to 256gb. I am confused

  • What is the latest Samsung to replace Samsung Galaxy Tab s2 8.0? That's in terms of size but with the latest technology.

  • I ask Samsung Service Center in my country and the battery replacement only cost 20-30 USD. So i don't understand what do you mean by expensive, cause you already spend 350-450 USD for the device. I don't think tab s2 8.0" was a bad device for 2019, my mom use it from 2017 and still happy wit it. I think you should go with battery replacement cause it will bring your device back to the max performance.

  • Nothing

  • I have the Galaxy s2, 8 inch tab, for 2 years now. Right now the battery is on it's way out. The battery is expensive and it's hard to disassemble the device without damaging the device. They especially made it that way so you would just buy a new one. The tablet shuts off at about 50% power. It's slow starting (always was) and you cannot transfer to your email, any videos over a measly 25mb - which totally is the pits. It's slow sometimes loading programs and operating apps. It's superamaloid display is the best i've seen - so movies and videos are great. A lot of apps that they put on there, you cannot delete. They don't slide off, they don't open and give you deletion options. They just take up space and memory. The most downer: This will be 2019 in a week and Samsung has not upgraded this tablet since 2015. It is still being sold in stores and they are expecting, unsuspecting people to buy it. I am in the market for another tablet, but I am not buying theirs unless they bring it up to present time. There are 2 other good 8 inch tablets that are up to date and the apple ipad 8 inch, which I think is slightly better than this one, (they were 1-2 rated in 2015) is not one of them either.

  • The battery drain is not battery. I bought a used gold SM-T713 (second gen) I got about 4.5 hours usage. I bought a oem Samsung battery just in case the used battery goes bad. I will be changing out the battery myself. It's pretty easy. Great 8 inch tablet.

  • How about Tab S2

  • How is Tab S2 8.0 battery drain .any one know about this please let me know.thank you

  • Yesterday I bought this Tab S2 .really its cool.but battery is drain little bit fast.i think this tab comes with super amoled thats why quality.i highly recommended to buy this.tab S is slim design

  • Hi , I love this tablet too ! But the camera not good enuff. Is there a new and better 8" tab from Samsung ?

  • Great tablet, had it for close to 2 years no issues. Have the 8.0 version perfect size and still runs like a champ.

  • Its depend on how regular basis you use it . If you throw it on the floor daily of course it will broke the mainboard . LOL

  • A very good table . Used for 2 years and a half and didnt see any sign of malfunction yet . So far so very good . Love this tablet 100%

  • The hardware quality is not good. My device used for 3 years but needed to repair and change main broad for 3 times.

  • There is a cellular version which can make calls. However, I find the sound quality average.

  • Can I phone calls this divine

  • From info I gathered elsewhere, the 713 appears to be the WiFi Only version of the 719.

  • Here in Europe there is a t713 version. Does anyone know why this isn't mentioned in Gsm arena?

  • No, I got update to January 2018. Download the firmware from Sammobile and manually flash if can't update....

  • Is the last update are on April 2017 Security Patch?

  • Just successfully updated my T710 from Lollipp to Nougat by own flashing of stock ROM, running smooth and happily. Nicer in terms of security update and power management, updated with more emojis to use too! 😀🙄🤗&#129299;🤠🤡👍&#127996;💪🏼🤘&amp;#127996;🤞🐊&#128050;🐉

  • Hey guys. I would like to ask about the Tab S2: 1. What Android version is it now on? And will Samsung continue (at least) security and maintenance updates for the forseeable future? 2. Between this and the latest iPad Mini 4 which do you guys think make for great buy in terms of overall better specs and general performance? Faster fingerprint scanner ? Louder & clearer speakers?

  • will this device get android oreo update ?!

  • Any news on S4 8.0 inch Or 8 inchers are thing of a past now

  • Are all versions of the S2 under the Android One program?

  • I just bought and updadted my T715 to nougat. gsmarena, you should update the specification with this information.

  • Excellent.. Best PDA device I've ever used.. works so perfectly and meets all academic functions.. I bought myself an external wireless keypad and mouse for effective use

  • No flash light. Im using

  • I had this tab since two years ago, until now its performing very well. Best tab ever!!

  • Can I make phone calls with this device?

  • Does tab s2 8.0 camera has a flash light

  • When you finish your day, what number become the charge ?

  • EDITED. Hi guys! I'm buying a tablet this weekend but I still can't decide which one to get. Here are the current prices (with rough conversion of currency from JPY to USD). Will mainly use it for Netflix amd Google sheets lols. The screen on galaxy is really awesome but m3 has a good screen as well based on reviews, I am a bit concerned about touch issues on M3 so please confirm if it has been resolved by the update. Any thoughts and comments? Replies will be greatly appreciated! Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (¥34,000/ $312) Huawei Mediapad M3 (¥30,000/$275)

  • Yes, it does. I use it with an ethernet adapter and can charge at the same time.

  • No doubt "Samsung" is the best for user friendly , for Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is good for use in the office as well as home as this size is compatible and keep in touch with business and while travel entertainment too.

  • samsung is best for ever

  • To be frank, This tablet with 8.0 inch display looks cuter in hands. Well done Samsung. Still I will prefer 9.7 inch version for its usability.

  • Love it no problems for now

  • How long until Samsung stops supporting this one or releases an updated version to the s2 8.0 inch? I can't seem to find even indications of what future plans are for the s2 8.0 inch.

  • It does support otg usb

  • Does this tablet supports USB OTG ?

  • My model of the 8.0" Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T719) has received a software update from Samsung on November 1st. Still not Oreo or anything like that so I am not sure what the he'll changed. Would be nice if Samsung was kind enough to include a channel of for this update.....

  • Just bought one, yesterday, had a Lenovo,, now trying how to navigate,! 😎

  • this tablet is good for gaming and multimedia. i would reccomended it for anyone who looking for multimedia and gaming. the battery was average though. no fast charging either but the price is reasonable also good for reading ebook.

  • it runs on nougat and it works just fine, poor baterry life instead! but it s a good choice!

  • I Had Tried Playing Hero Evolved & It Crash Before Even Entering The Match! (Matchmaking Bug) Hopefully The Game Developer Fix The Bug For Tab Devices. (Hero Evolved *Only Working On Mobile Device).

  • Just Bought This Device, Best Gaming Device 10/10 Super Smooth, Less Heating & Nice Huge Design! Soon 7.0 Awaits.......................

  • How's the battery life on this thing?

  • The best top class Android device! Why Samsung doesn't provide the same top experience to Galaxy phones? Why phone interface lags badly comparing to this Tablet? Is it that Samsung doesn't care to optimize its phones as it did optimize this tablet?

  • Mobile legends or Heroes Evolved plays well on this Tab? watcha think?

  • can sumsung galaxy tab s2 connect to TV ?

  • can the S2 8" be used on Verizon's 4G network?

  • Yes I use it.

  • Sure u can, but need bluetooth headset to help you

  • Do you guys think this tab can be used as everyday phone?

  • As per specs., it supports upto 128gb....

  • That's probably normal. It has a reasonably powerful tablet chipset, but is powered by a smaller battery than some phones (which, in turn, is why it can be so thin). In my own experience, the indicated battery level on modern Samsung devices doesn't seem very accurate. Below around 40% it seems to be dropping faster, suggesting the actual battery level is quite a bit lower, so about then, I start looking for a charger. If you have the 2016 model, you can turn on ultra power savings mode when you won't be using it for the next couple of hours. It pauses even many background services to conserve more power than the regular standby mode.

  • No. I tried using an S-pen on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (T719N 32GB) and, as expected, it didn't work, since the Tab S2 doesn't have a digitizer. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 supports the S-pen, but is currently only available in a 9.7" model.

  • Is tab S2 supported by stylus pen?

  • Without earphones

  • Yes, it does. It also says it in the spec sheet. Go on Memory > Card slot.

  • Is this tablet definitely compatible with a 256GB micro sd card? Thank you for any reply.

  • If u notice or not, but ur home screen should be on. same this happe to me. After charging my tab i jst plugged out and didnt see anything . When i woke up my battery was from 70 to 23%. Actually the problem was, when i plugged out my charger , the home screen was onn. Which i didnt notice. And my battrty was drain. But next time it didnt. When i off my homescreen

  • i have same device as yours and i found it as well draining battery real quick and my device is also new. just surfing internet drains 1% every less than 5 mins lmao

  • There should be a little icon at the top of your screen. Slide it down and choose "files". This should open up the drive in your my computer now

  • I have a galaxy tab s2 9.7 "and I can not connect it to my PC, what can I do? The pc does not see it and the tablet does not communicate anything. Who can help me?

  • If yours came with 6.0.1 you bought the 2016 version, 719

  • is it dual sim?

  • Hi, Earlier this month I purchased the Galaxy Tab S2 8", but I noticed that battery is draining really fast. For example, last night at around 11PM, the battery was at 33%, but when I woke up this morning at around 7AM, the battery was dead and the tab was off. As far as I know, there wasn't anything running through the night, so I'm wondering if this is a battery issue or if that is normal? Thanks

  • Just Reset tab for best new experience

  • Actually I'm using Tab S T705, I want to buy a new one Tab S2 T719 8.0 inches. I have read its specifications, still Camera is 8MP, why Samsung doesn't want to improve camera capacity? can it be increased at least up to 16MP?

  • i have it for a year already. Very smooth and fast. from the first i used it i had some wifi disconnection issues ans i thought it was just a problem from the signal of the router but then i realized that the main problem the wifi random disconnection of my tab. Is there any other way to fix it? Help will be much appreciated!

  • It s fantastic.who could i use glonass system for tab s2?

  • best samsung tab ever, looking forward to its upgrade (S3), ;)

  • Mine came withiut earphones. Does it not come with them?

  • As I've said on my post, only 5.0.2 was there in sammobile for SM-T715C. Are you saying I can download any SM-T715(x) firmware and flash my tablet? I have an LTE unit, so I thought any other region firmware would cause issues with my unit. Anyway, I checked again today and saw that Samsung has released a 6.0.1 for SM-T715C, but only for the T715CZCU2BPL3 baseband (China open). The unit I got is T715CZSU2AOJ2 (Taiwan). Looks like a good sign. I may just use this to flash my unit (but seems safer to just wait a few more weeks for the Taiwan firmware to come out).

  • Can some please help me !!!!!! Something wrong with the download , it seems that everytime i download something it will stop half way

  • Noisy voice in call.. Any solution dear???

  • does it have a sim slot .... and where is it located on the tab

  • can any body help, please.. i just bought T719N couple of days ago, "very often" it will error and restart if i connect it to projector or smart TV, using widi and smart view" but sometimes it will go smoothly, does anyboy have the solution for this? cause one of the reason i bought it to project power point, thanks for the help

  • I just bought mine yesterday, its on version 6.0.1 mate

  • you can download the updated firmware from samobile firmeware site and then use odin to flash it to the tablet. like you would with a phone..

  • I just bought mine yesterday, its on version 6.0.1 mate

  • Biometric Reader is crap, works maybe 20% of the time. Tried different cables but charging is extremely slow. There is no flash. Otherwise does the job.

  • Any Tab S2 owner stuck on Lollipop? I've bought mine last year (Dec 2015) and I have not received an update. I called up Samsung HK and was told that the Marshmallow update is not yet scheduled. I looked in www.sammobile.com/firmwares, and the SM-T715C's latest is 5.0.2. Is Samsung only supporting the 719's (TabS2 2016 models) for Marshmallow? Too bad, I've been preaching for the past year that this is one of the best tablets I've used.

  • I am purchasing a 715y. I assume it will not have 6.0. How do I get and install 6.0? Thanks.

  • very small size battry 4000 now in mobile it shoulb me 7000

  • I changed the cord

  • haha

  • dear galaxy user esp samsung galaxy tab s2 user, if you have problem with slow recharging , try to change the cable, the original cable seems slow to deliver the electricity so i change it, but forgot from where i purchase it. just try every usb cable you have ..

  • My new tabS2 8.0 drains battery too quick. I dont know why its normal or not but when im watching youtube with wifi and earphone... it drains 1% every 5 to 7 mins....its really worse than i thought as having 4000mAh capacity of battery... is my tab normal?

  • I got no idea why but my new tab S2 8.0 wastes battery too quick. im just watching youTube with earphone and wifi...and drains 1% every 5 to 7 minutes. I thougt 4000mAh would get me longer using time but it really sucks

  • the WiFi suffix means only wifi is available and weighs 265grams the LTE suffix means it has phone communication features and weighs about 272grams.

  • Oh,, pls dont forget to choose the LTE version.... WiFi only version is also available (* lacking calling function)

  • Why not.. But its not wise to use a laptop ((!!)) for calling.. Overall a good tab..

  • Dear Friends Is this tab have Calling function? please help

  • This tab s2 is really good ,but there is some problem about heating and charging .

  • Hi there.. anyone experiencing overheating issues? Just got my tab s2 8.0 T713 last friday ang it gets hot easily... just want to knkw if other users experience the problem too... thanks!

  • I am having the same trouble as well i bought my tab S2 last december 2015 but ever since charging always takes a lot of time and same thing it is overheating the charger

  • Yes, it's pretty good to watch movie, and it's a nice tablet for money. I added a 256Gb with FHD movies. Main is 8.0 international version with phone incorporated. So I use it as a phone too.

  • Hi, I got mine, Samsung Tab S2 8.0 LTE version (Philippines). I got an update like around 3 gigabytes of updates for a Marshmallow 6.0.1 version, from Lollipop 5.0.1 version. So as I can experience it now, my tablet becomes faster, even better & becomes more secure on all occasions. Only that once you make an update for a Marshmallow version, you need to update all pre-installed apps in your tablet as well before using them just the way you use them daily. Explore your Settings in your tablet and update only when WiFi is On.

  • Is it good for watching movies?

  • I think you have bad cable, i suggest change and no need original cable

  • Charging is so very slow. 6hrs is not enough.

  • Does anyone know if these are still for sale in Canada if they are discontinued here? All the retailers currently appear to be out of stock.

  • Hi Please help me know which one is better? T715 or T719? why? Tnx.

  • Yes, the screen does rotate

  • Unfortunately, this tablet won't be upgraded to Android 7 Nougat. This latest upgrade works until Marshmallow.

  • Hi, I have used Mediapad Honor X1 7D-503L as a mobile phone for few years, the only issue was Google sync (sometimes) and camera wasnÂ’t that good. I like and used Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 as a phone too without any issues but unfortunately my daughter broke the display. Need advice Mediapad M3 (concern about Google sync and Chinese apps) or Samsung Tab S2 (SM-T719, 2016)? Many thanks

  • Thank you

  • Will the Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) - T719N model by any chance have the Android 7 update? Thanks!

  • Be careful. The Wi-Fi only version DOES NOT have vibration. The slow charging low ppi and the missing vibration made me sell this... Only good looks. Price too high.

  • 719 better

  • Are you gaming? You should get 719.I use this model for gaming. Snapdragon 650and adreno510 is great. If not you should go 715 for 2k video record.but I think tabs 2 is improve very much.you can fell smooth on tab s2 and tab s2ve.

  • Please tell me friends .which one is good ?. 715 or 719.

  • Yes, it does.

  • You ask me? I ask does it rotate when the device is UPSIDE DOWN not like with smartphones.

  • Does screen rotate with the rotation of the tablet?

  • Anybody knows does it rotate upside down?

  • Settings>about device>download update

  • Why my tab s2 ve cannot use adapter 2.1A for charging. When I conected tab s2 the Battary icon show red x. If you use adapter lower than 2.0A it will charge in normal. And the samsung usb cable is not good because it charge very slow than other usb cable I've use. Can anyone tell me how to slove this case.

  • Sounds quality is good but speakers are not that loud

  • Hello there, Please tell me how to get marshmallow in the Philippines, got the 715 model.

  • does s2 have great aduio quality ??

  • If Samsung customers just want to copy files between devices, why are most of the micro SD cards Samsung as large or larger than the entire flash memory on their devices. I just ordered an unlocked Galaxy s7 Edge directly from Samsung. It had 32 GB of flash built in and they offered a free 256 GB microSD card bundled with it. The simple fact is that as Apple has proved, phone manufacturers can make much higher profit margins forcing customers to pay a premium for phones with larger built in flash. Customers also tend to upgrade to a new phone with more flash when they fill up their current one. Supporting adoptable storage would hurt Samsung's profits. They only went back to offering SD card slots on their high end phones when it was obviously costing them market share. They aren't going to allow people to make full use of those slots unless it becomes obvious that is also costing them more in lost customers than they gain in profits on selling more high capacity phones. Personally I havn't run into a situation where I would rather pop a SD card out and put in a different device rather than transferring the files over wifi. It relatively easy to get to the MicroSD on the Samsung devices my family had, but some other devices require prying off the back cover. In any case your data is on a tiny little card that you might have a hard time finding back if you aren't very careful and drop it. It is definitely not a good means of transferring files between devices.

  • Thanks bruh. Really helpful.

  • I think the answer may be--it depends. I am still learning. So other comments from experienced users might be more valuable. Nonetheless here is my current thinking on how to select a Galaxy Tab S2 (and source), subject to continuing revision: 1. For what follows I am assuming the buyer is in the USA (where I am). 2. Start by choosing between the (2) screen sizes and/or (3) tablet colors you want. (Looks like you want an 8” version.) 3. Choose between a WiFi-only and WiFi+cell-network-available model. The latter offers greater utility and perhaps can be used as a cell phone(?); the former may be somewhat cheaper and less complicated (fine for people who have their own home network and/or do not venture away from a reliable WiFi source). For the remainder of this post assume it will be a network model. 4. Decide ahead of time between getting an initially unlocked device versus one “locked” in to a specific domestic provider (which can probably be unlocked later, after the contract expires). For the pros and cons, see online sources like: In my opinion unlocked devices offer greater flexibility for experienced users. They may be good for frequent travelers and people who for various reasons need/want to use more than one Sim card (and/or corresponding network providers). However, unlocking a phone may cause problems with a network provider and/or void warranties. 5. Think about whether to buy an (unlocked) “international” device versus a domestic model (specifically intended for a particular network provider). Overseas models MAY work perfectly fine with American networks (or not; see below). I think that many overseas devices are intended for GSM networks, correct? (See next item.) Be sure to check on this. 6. If you want to get a domestic model, decide between it being on a GSM or on a CDMA network, and then among the various USA network providers. The big ones include AT&T (GSM), T-Mobile (GSM), US Cellular (CDMA), Sprint (CDMA), and Verizon (CDMA). Assume, for this discussion, that it is to be a GSM phone. 7. You then have the choice of purchasing (a) directly through Samsung (online), (b) another online source (e.g., on eBay, etc.), (c) a network-owned outlet or supplier (brick & mortar store), or (d) at any b&m second-party partner of your preferred network provider (like Costco or Best Buy or any cellular store that offers your providerÂ’s equipment). 8. Considerations, of where to buy, include (a) initial price, (b) purchase incentives (bonuses, like give-aways and free accessories), (c) warranties and long-term hands-on support (may be better at a b&m store?), and (d) control over the specific model you receive. (When you deal with a real person at a store you may [or may not] be able to control EXACTLY what you end up with; not necessarily so with cost-saving online purchases.) 9. Regardless of these decisions, and despite the outward similarities between Tab S2 models, here are some additional variables to consider: o ROM size: 32GB versus 64 GB. The most recent (2016) WiFi-only models are apparently available with 64GB ROM. That is good, but so far it is hard/impossible to find 64GB on network versions. Why? Is it coming soon? o Full network bandwidth coverage compatibility. I am not yet sure just how important this is. But in the USA for example AT&T Tab S2 devices may vary somewhat from T-Mobile versions regarding 3G and 4G bandwidth coverage. Likewise among the various CDMA versions. And there are likely differences in the bandwidth covered between "international" versions and devices intended for specific countries or American service providers. Until I learn otherwise, I am going to assume that complete total bandwidth compatibility is important, say for fringe reception areas. So in order to enjoy the absolute best, most comprehensive network coverage everywhere, it may be wise to purchase a device intended for your preferred network. (As opposed to say buying just any GSM device because it happens to be cheaper and then unlocking it and using it on your chosen network.) o Initial firmware. The 2015 Tab S2 models came with Android 5.0.2 (“Lollipop”) software, but usually can be updated. The newer, 2016 variants are coming with 6.0.1 (“Marshmallow”). I have not tried either of these, but assuming that performance doesnÂ’t suffer it might be nice to get the latest version, if for no other reason than to avoid having to upgrade later. o CPU chipset. Exynos 5433 octa-core in 2015; Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core in 2016. (Geek-talk.) Again, I assume that the more recent version may be better(?). o Samsung has so far released a myriad number of different Tab S2 models, including (just 8”-screen versions): - SM-T710 – WiFi-only (2015) - SM-T713 – WiFi-only (2015) - SM-T715 – WiFi+3G/LTE (2015) - SM-T713 – WiFi-only (2016) - SM-T718 – ? (2016) - SM-T719 – WiFi+3G/LTE (2016) Model numbers vary among devices intended for different countries and containing different hardware/software. It is a good idea to know what you are buying, as there may be subtle and not-so-subtle differences among the various models. In conclusion, there may not be a simple answer to your question. Since these devices cost, at a minimum, several hundred dollars, and are intended to last for a number of years it is worth doing your research and getting EXACTLY what you need and want with no surprises in order to ensure full compatibility with your chosen network and to delay, to the extent possible, the inevitable obsolescence. (It is no wonder that many people turn to Apple where consumer control at purchase time and after may be somewhat less, but so too can be the associated stress of decision-making.) Good luck.

  • Hi everyone, Samsung A9 Pro and Samsung Tab S2 8.0" so which one suggest me to buy? Cause im more on Surfing Net, FB & Gaming. Thanks n cheers.

  • I'd like to buy this tab, which is better either to get it from samsung outlets or from local mobile shop? What's the pros and cons?

  • If you have used the Tab S2 as a cell phone, could you supply the: - model #? - country/region? - network? Thanks for additional info.

  • I used mine as cellphone. Work just fine. But not really convenient due to it's size.

  • I bought it in June & it straight auto update to marshmallow. So far so good.

  • How was it so far? I downloaded the OS but have not installed it yet. Pls share me hows it going? Got same tab s2 t715y also from the Phils. Thanks!

  • Hows it working? I postponed my installation since ive read a lot of issues with this marsmallow? Pls share me how its going on your tabs2 t715y, thanks!

  • FYI, I just added a (long) comment on the Tab S2 9.7" conversation (may be delayed for moderator review). Basically asking to hear from anyone who has successfully (or unsuccessfully) tried to use their Tab S2 LTE version (or other tablet?) as a cell phone. I have an (now old) Galaxy S-3 with AT&T in the USA but would love the added size of a tablet for ease of interacting with the full range of smart phone applications, including phoning and texting.

  • Clean your charging port. A bit of dirt might have gotten in side

  • This from Samsung through Android Authority; Samsung decided not to use the Android Marshmallow “adoptable storage” model. We believe that our users want a microSD card to transfer files between their phone and other devices (laptop, tablet, etc), especially the photos and videos they shoot with the camera. With adoptable storage, first of all the card may be erased the first time it is inserted into the device. This behavior may be unexpected by many users and we donÂ’t want our users to lose their files. Second, once Marshmallow starts using a card for adoptable storage, it cannot be read by other devices, so it loses this ability to be used for file transfer. Adoptable Storage is also primarily targeted towards emerging markets where devices with only 4-8GB of onboard storage are common. We think that our model of using microSD for mass storage is more in-line with our ownerÂ’s desires and expectations for how microSD should behave.

  • Got android 6, installed it, bought a SD card, and discovered, no possibility to turn SD card into internal memory. There you go.

  • Cover problem, nothing to do with authentic or non-authentic. Most likely the workmanship of your cover, there is a certain working distance/material used to enable the proximity sensor to work. If not, 3rd party covers like Mercury or Goosperry won't work even.

  • Today I got Marshmallow 6.0 OTA update for my Samsung Tab S2 - SM-T715Y. very beautiful interface.

  • So to sum up, in the same price (today both 715 and 719 cost the same) which one is better?

  • Because you are using a low powered 500mah charger. Swap it for a proper USB charger and you can charge and use at the same time.

  • The specs explained it all... 2015 has exynos CPU and mali GPU while the 2016 has Snapdragon CPU and adreno GPU. Performance wise, you can google it.

  • What a crap comment! Obviously we can ALWAYS USE THIS TAB while charging :-P

  • I can play while charging, compatible to my samsung s7 usb charger..and fully satisfied😉plus fast chargng..no regrets at all.. Promise u wil love dis.

  • I use my Samsung Tab S2 8 lte to make standard GSM calls no problem, just inserted the sim from my phone and works perfectly all the contact, call and message apps were pre installed it's like having a 8 inch phablet. All my contacts and text messages were installed automatically using my Samsung account. The sim card has 5 gig of data to use on 4g unlimited texts and calls. I use a Sony SBH52 Bluetooth device to take calls so as not to hold the tablet to my ear when out in public. Sony have an App which you meet to download first, the setup was simple. I love this tablet. I've also linked my Note 4 to it so now I can make and receive calls and text messages from 2 mobile numbers it's like having a dual sim phone. Great for splitting business and personal calls also good if roaming. I'm not sure if the phone call functions are available if the tablet is purchased through a mobile network. Mine is unlocked so perhaps that's the difference. I've also noticed that unlocked LTE versions have a speaker above the Samsung logo and the network locked 4g versions don't they look like the WiFi only versions.

  • Amazing device. Fast & lots of space. Even the Samsung retailer has given me FREE 16Gb of Microsoft card Class 10 & tampered glass. 7 days of using, no regret. It cld be better if it comes with rear flash from low light photo.

  • you cant use the tablet whille charging. you need to turn it off

  • I have tried different cables and chargers and still not working. I have tested a usb otg host today and also not working.

  • i have one and it's amazing! pretty happy of have it

  • i had experienced that also. the problem is the cable in the charger, replace the old cable with a new one cause the old one dont charge the tab or it is slow charging (shows in the indicator when charging while on " no approximate time of charging"). i bought a cable that is solid (feels like a wire) as a replacement.

  • i bought the tab since the 1st release date, i got no problems, im a daily gamer battery life has no problems

  • same problem facing by me

  • I have got this tab earlier this month and upgraded to android 6.0.1 and worked flawless till two days ago while i charged the tab while being off , and tab begin to restart suddenly. when i tried to charge while off lt doesn't show the battery progress and charging while on show red x over the battery and say charging but charges very slow. tried another chargers and cables ( original ons ) and the problem continues. i reset the tablet and still have this problem. i would appreciate any advice to solve this problem with my best regards..

  • So what's the DIFFERENCE between the 2016 and 2015 versions aside from their product model codes and Android OS versions??? Thank you.

  • I have a non-Samsung book-cover and when I close it it does dot shut off the display, also when I open it does not light up the display. In settings I enabled the option about this and have no security option for unlock. Should this only work with a Samsung cover, or is just like any proximity sensor that senses any object (head, cover, finger...)?

  • I fell the best tablet

  • Just been updated to marshmallow 6.0.1. What's the good thing on this upgrade to my galaxy tab s2?

  • I have this tablet with the size and using it for nearly six weeks since my dad bought it for me last May. I downloaded a Marshmallow firmware file yesterday and the upgrade to Galaxy Tab S2 was a success. I really like the pixel resolution of 2048x1536 than my old mid-range Acer Iconia Tab 8 which is not much good for either mid or high-resolution games that always crashes or hiccups while auto-exiting the game without further shutting down. It is great for movies too. My dad promise me to keep it for four years.

  • Updated mine yesterday to 6.0.1 (Philippines) Nothing for my note 4 though.. :(

  • Got my uparade to 6.0.1 marshmallow yesterday, 29 June, 16, itso block buster. Love it mmmwa.

  • Waiting for update here at singapore, T715Y.

  • Awesome marshmalow.. can't wait for it here.so how the performance?

  • regarding the black thing in watching movies? I can use mxplayer or any movie player to stretch the movie right?

  • Just got the OTA update to 6.0.1 on Galaxy Tab S2 (T710) in Canada

  • Nice tab

  • If you are planning to buy a tablet for movies than you should never gone for Samsung Galaxy tab s2 coz its aspect ratio is worse for movies you would have a big black hole on the up and down

  • Yes , it can

  • The burn in is due to the reaction in the chemicals that react with electricity in the subpixels to generate colored light in ambled displays. Because the light is generated by a chemical reaction using the phosphors and/or fluorescent compounds, these chemicals slowly run out as a little is lost via the reaction. This means that burn in will occur on any screen mode. Using the basic screen mode might help slow the process however due to the varying lifespans of the primary color subpixels. Red and green subpixels generally degrade slowly, taking well over a few years to be noticeable at minimum and usually much longer. Blue subpixels however have been more tricky to stabilize and have a significantly shorter lifespan. Burn in can therefore be more noticeable in areas of the screen that are either frequently displaying more blue or less blue than the rest of the screen. For example if the stausbar were black on an amoled screen, the blue subpixels would be brighter in that area as they would be used less on average than other blue subpixels, if the status bar were blue the opposite effect could be observed. Because the basic screen mode tones down the vibrancy/saturation of the colors, burn in could theoretically be slowed, but not stopped completely. Hope this helps.

  • Amoled screens only get burn if you burn them with fire there is no need to panic just buy this tablet it is a good tablet

  • I want to buy this tab. But all over the Internet it says that AMOLED screens get burn in sooner or later. If I choose the basic mode in display setting, will there still be a chance of screen burn in?

  • @ Urri, the network is the frst item click technology and see were this tab can connect to the available network bands

  • Specifications do not say if one could make regular GSM calls using this tablet. Please add this line to tablets specs. Some tablets could work as phones and some could not. How to find out?

  • I got it yesterday and i already love it! I would like to ask, how it goes with the very first charging? If it reaches the 100% does it still need to be pluged in? and if yes then for how long?

  • I got it yesterday and i love it already! and i would like to ask how it goes with the very first charging? does it need still to be plugged in when it reaches 100% and if yes then for how long?

  • There are two more advantages of tab S2 comparing to note 5 1) tab s2 is covered with more glossy glass than note 5 (you can clearly notice way more reflection on tab s2 when display is off). This makes tab s2 to produce better contrast and less fogy display. 2) tab s2 display has a pure white tone and note 5 display has a horrible yellow town all over!

  • i have samsung tab s2 T715. when i connect it with the charger it is heating too much. i used note 4 charger. same problem occurred . what's the problem?

  • Yes it does.

  • Best Buy

  • Want to buy this tab but where?

  • Does T715 model support OTG?

  • Dual Quad Processors, Eight inch display, HDMI out, 128GB slot, and the best feature is it-fit's-in-your-front-pocket.

  • I'm using this tablet and a note 5 phone. Everything about this tablet is faster than note 5 (which is a great phone by the way) 1) switching between apps and commands are a faster 2) opening apps and commands are definitely more faster 3) using an external flash drive on Table s2 is super fast (almost like on a home pc). LIST OF PROBLEMS WITH USB flash drive on Note 5 phone: 1) moving multiple files within flash drives takes forever to cut a paste 2) copying or moving multiple files between note 5 and external USB flash drive is super slow! I don't knownehter it.s a phone application/software that slows down NOTE 5 or whether it has to do with smaller size processor that is being used on phones comparing to tablet. But the major flow is using usb flash drive on Note 5.

  • Bri samsung tablets are the best u should buy tab S2 its an awesome tablet for work, movies and games

  • Thanks

  • Thanks

  • Hi I am about to buy a new tablet, however I am torn between SGTs2 and mediapad 2 8.0, what I want for a tablet is mostly for watching movies, but can you suggest me which of the two is better?

  • Yes. You do.

  • Hi! If you don't care its size, yes you can.

  • Hi, can I use S2 as a phone? Thanks

  • I hate Samsung Home Button

  • smaller screen model of t700. I had Nexus 7 and this model is lighter than Nexus. Sold my nexus i'm getting this. bigger screen with lighter body. :D

  • How about T715y to marshmallow?

  • Hi again.I bought mine for a 160 thousand forinth in hungary and that's about 550 euros.

  • I'm getting one soon. it's smaller screen of t700.

  • when this model will start use 2 sim card

  • according to GSMarena's news, the rollout for marshmallow has begun for the s2 8.0 :) -- like, 20 hours ago. I have an immediate need for a tablet, so I was just looking into this I was looking at this and the Teca LTE-830 4G. That is 2/3 the cost of this tablet now-a-days (~200 vs. ~300), has a nice 16:10 ratio still and 4GB of ram. Much worse screen (is fhd though), heavier/older build, worse camera, and a "2.0ghz octacore" which I cant imagine what it is. The LTE may or may not work in the US (most chinese devices dont have the same antennas we use in the US). The reasons I went with the samsung instead of the teca are: they are both reasonably cheap, and the extra gig of ram would be nice but not essential. the processor is likely a Helio P10 and about ~10-20% slower. the display is not nearly as good. and most importantly, I can't find the manufacturer, nor a review online. And I have no idea if it will _ever_ get an upgrade to Marshmallow or Android N soon.

  • Hi Ziza2b. thnks for your post. i am planning to buy the same one. may i know how much you got your unit? thanks again.

  • Hi. I want to buy SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S2 8.0. But is there multi user function?

  • This device was good when I bought it newly and after an update from Samsung,it got crippled. It's now tripping off and back on more than fifteen times a day and it's only just a month old,I hate taking my device to the service except for something really serious because in the past when I took my other Samsung devices to the service they all came back scratched or mis-handled,After paying for a device, they don't care about it anymore. If you are thinking of buying this device, think properly so you don't feel the way I feel now.

  • Why there is no flash light for camera?

  • why this model did not come with S pen?

  • This is the best Tablet of all ,

  • will this device will receive the marshmallow update?

  • why this device released with 32bit android whereas its cpu can support 64bit os. Does it upgrade to 64 bit os in marshmallow?

  • No. If you are an exigent photographer, you will not appreciate the photos taken at night. In otherwise, at day, the photos aren t bad at all in my opinion.

  • No. Unless it saids 3G model which is not this case.

  • When you say it lasts a whole day, does that include making phone calls as well as using it for the usual browsing, reading, youtube etc? I want this to be my main phone, so I want to be sure it doesn't run out of juice during the day. How much % is left at the end of the day? Thanks for answering.

  • OMG WTH i have the samsung tab s and now looking at this one the tab s2 is a downgrade. you get less talk time on the upgraded version, less overall battery life, less cpu power, less lol no flash as they have taken this off, less screen size, how can they make less and call it an upgrade. i have been playing with the tab s2 for a a week and can not see any difference compared to the tab s in fact i feel i have been had, done over, been seen coming again by Samsung. just like the samsung S6 that made away with everything that made Samsung attractive. dont waist your time and save a few quid stick with the samsung tab s and you will have a few quid to spend at the pub or on the wife :)

  • I used it for bout 6 months it feels freak I hand and very smooth performance

  • The battery is the only disappointment i have with the tablet. With heavy/medium use i get just over 1 day use.

  • I have a Lumia 640XL from Microsoft since I wanna try a Windows phone coming from a Sony Xperia Z3 that got busted after using it for almost a year. Specs wise it's a downgrade but performance wise I didn't feel that it was a downgrade but I miss having an Android device. Having another smartphone with an Android OS is useless so better yet buy myself a tablet. This tablet is perfect for me! The size, the look, the performance, everything suit my taste! I am going to get it in 2 weeks once I receive my paycheck! :)

  • how was it? after 6 months of usage? worth to buy?

  • That's because it doesn't have any image stabilization -- only video stabilization.

  • pls..How good is the battery of the LTE model?/ Approximately how long does it last on average?

  • i use it for a few months and i think it's excellent tablet, best i ever had

  • My Tab S2 8.0 takes photos like it doesn't have image stabilization. If you hold the tablet by one hand most photos are blurred. I should hold the tablet by two hand and be very-very steady to take a photo. Is that only me or someone else has the same problem?

  • Which is better LG G4 or tab s2. I already bought LG G4. But confuse want to use only 1 gadget. Which is better for daily used? Im using an ipad mini 1 and mega 5.8 right now. Thx

  • Please tell me which is better LG G4 or tab s2 for daily used? Im really confuse. Already have LG G4. Thx

  • What's your opinion which is better LG G4 or tab s2. Because i have already bought LG. And now confuse because i want to use only 1 gadgets. Im using a phone and a tablet right now. The tablet is ipad mini 1. Thx..

  • Yes it works with hml adapter, tested on my t715. :)

  • Is that tab have MHL TV-OUT? Like tab S2 9.8 in ? please help

  • This tablet phone is by far feels faster than Samsung Note 5. Moreover, I was wrong when I previously stated that this tablet phone has microphone grill only on top of it. I now discovered that only USA version (which is a tablet only) has a microphone on top. The Phone version of this Tablet has two mics: one on a top and one on a bottomm ( you can see it from downloading the manual). Anyway, if you don't mind being without a useless s-pen and without being able to put this phone in your pocket, than by all means this perfect tablet phone is for you.

  • is this tab has Stylus???

  • will this device will receive a marshmallow update?

  • Yes it does support MHL!

  • Yes. LTE Model does. It even has an ear speaker on top.

  • Hi to all. Does this model support MHL cable?

  • Hi can this phone make out phone calls and receive incoming calls?

  • Can i check if i can make out phone calls and recieve phone calls?

  • What about the Camera it doesn't has flash. Is it still good at Night?

  • Speaker is above average as it is better than most tab speakers out there. So i would say in tab perspective speakers are good.

  • The 8.0 LTE version has a dedicated ear speaker, so you can use it just like you would a phone, though holding an 8" tablet to your ear will get people's attention. You can send text messages on it, and I found the tablet rather snappy, also the official book case looks and works great. I am getting about 7 hours screen on time.

  • Please give me advice, im using 1 tablet and 1 smartphone. I really want to combine these 2 gadgets. Is the s2 really good for Daily used basis? And is it has problem for Voice call texting Chatting and how is the Camera performance at Night? Thx. Im really confuse right now.

  • hi. i have 1 question. how is the speaker quality? good? average?

  • Thx guys. Very helpful opinion. Im buying this

  • Thx guys. Very helpful opinion. Im buying this

  • Yes. I got this tab on 2/19/16. It has been great. Wifi connection is very reliable. Apps run smoothly. No freezing of OS or apps at this time. Very happy. Had a rca 10" 2 in 1 (basically had a keyboard with it). I am happy I decided to go with this tablet instead of another 2 in 1. You can always add a keyboard later if needed. Very little difference in size of the screen compared to the 10".

  • I recommend this tab for daily use, such as browsing, gaming, email, and open microsoft office data. It works smooth, better than my previous tab (xiaomi mi pad 2 android 16 gb).

  • Had mine since December, almost full with apps and games,no lag at all.

  • This tab or huawei mediapad m2.. i cant decide.. Mediapad m2 has better battery, significantly better speaker, but interface doesn seem smooth when i try at shop. Galaxy s2 is smoother no lag, has better screen imo for reading n browsing. But i dont like its speaker. Below average.

  • Would u recommend this tab? It start to lag after some time?

  • Would u recommend this tab? It start to lag after some time?

  • After 1 month use its not fast specialy with youtube, compared with galaxy alpha that is v fast

  • How come u have the same processor on your tab s 8.4 same with tab s2 8. Hmmm, ?

  • Hi my friends. I have a Tab S 8.4. Same processor than the S2 but the screen is awesome. Very good tablet. I have also a Xperia Z3 tab. Faster but lower screen.

  • Samsung; Please make an 8.0 inch American version at least LTE! This is a great super fast tablet ( I use it) but the lack of LTE on an 8.0 inch American version is really really dissapointong. I know I can just buy a small mobile hot spot and carry an extra piece of equipment this way , but I don't want to do so. There are many people who don't want too carry a 10 inch tablet. So the LTE version is only on a 10 inch tablet?

  • Hi Andrew I also have the tab s2 8.0 LTE for a few months now but I would say keep the tab s2, do not return it to buy the note 5 for the simple reason of screen size. I use the tab s2 8.0 LTE as my all in one tablet/phone since you can make regular phone calls on the tab, which means you don't need to buy a separate smartphone. I'm thinking of buying the 9.7 inch version of the tab s3 when it comes out later this year since the 8 inch version is a little bit too small to read magazines still among other things. I'm planning to buy the LTE version again so that I have a 9.7 inch tablet phone(yeah don't laugh lol) But my ideal samsung device would be a 12-13 inch super amoled tablet phone laptop all in one with LTE running a dual boot of windows 10 and Android so then I can attach a keyboard to it and run full windows desktop programs as a laptop and then detach the keyboard to use as a phone/tablet running android. Yes I know the possibility of Samsung or another company releasing such a device to be super slim but I can dream right???

  • I was kinda in the same situation... between Note 5 and Tab S2. I have a Note 2 and since last week a tab S2 LTE too. I still have 1 week to decide if I keep it or not because I can return it to the store. What can I say, the tab is AWESOME. The only thing is bothering me is the size... I managed to put it in my jackets inside pockets but it's a little uncomfortable. Now I'm searching for a shoulder bag... I also have the original Samsung book cover but I don't like it because it's heavy... and I just want to enjoy the tabs size :). I recommend you try it for a few days. Reading opinions won't make any difference, you need to like it and not others. Good luck! Andrew PS. Now it's a little hard to use the Note 2....it seems so small :))

  • this tab is very nice easy

  • Which one should i go for samsung galaxy note 4 or samsung galxy tab s2 am realy confuse

  • Unfortunately no, which I'm also hope for.

  • Hi, The Wi-Fi has multi-user support but on the LTE version I can't see that option. BTW, do you guys know if this tablet will receive android 6?

  • i think this is the best tab. It's amazing

  • this tab support multi user or not

  • Does it have an IR blaster?

  • About availability guys, I'm in SA and I've never met one before. how can I order online

  • It's excellent, fast, responsive, great screen. Beautiful

  • I think it's the best tab you can get right now. My girlfriend has the wi-fi version for over 3 weeks and she's extremely happy with it. It's really fast, thin and the battery is also great. Battery: 1-2 days with ~6 hours display, wi-fi off during night (6-7 hours). I just ordered the LTE version, too :)

  • Thanks! I just ordered it today :) Now I'm looking around for the best cover...

  • Have this for a week now and I'm satisfied. It's my first android tab switch bco'z its user friendly when transferring files or documents. I can also use otg with my LTE version. The camera was good even at low light conditions and the battery performs above average but not as good as my previous tab. Overall, a must have if you are planning to upgrade your old tab.

  • Its good Tab......or not....?

  • And also yes ,the keyboard vibrates as you type.

  • Yes for the LTE version there is vibration both when receiving calls and when the home and recent apps buttons are pressed.

  • I just bought this tablet... i realy surprise how fast it is..the batery is very fast charging and long usage..thanks to God

  • if you buy it in singapore you get asian languages...

  • Be careful before buying this tabs, bought it in singapore airport this is not a world wide tabs!only asian language!not european!

  • The world's slimmest yet highest performing tablet! gaming has never been smoother. I rate it 5 stars!

  • So exactly like a phone, great. Thanks for your reply!

  • Yes it does.

  • Hi guys, For those who have the LTE version, does your tab has vibration when receiving a call? What about haptic feedback on the 2 touch keys and keyboard when typing a message? Thanks in advance! Andrew

  • it has an arm mali t-760 mp6 gpu.

  • Yes

  • Is compatible with OTG??

  • What do you mean by Worst?

  • Try to play game with it. I have this device and it is a great tablet for gaming

  • Hello guys! Wanna buy a new tablet, wondering if i should choose this one, or go for the older sony z3 compact. Does this one have a notification LED, and what abot the speakers compared to z3 c. t.?

  • This is not worth to buy for an Android Tab if you are after gaming. This has no GPU. So lame.

  • Lol! Have you tried playing Multi-Player Fruit Ninja in a smartphone? There are a lot of Multi-Player games that you could play in a single Tab. Watching Movies are even better when you travel or Walk. And you can only do that with a tab, notebooks are too bulky and smartphones just wont give you the feeling of movie watching.

  • Tablets are the most useless devices ever made . They are bigger smartphones , you can t do absulutly nothink with a tablet that you can t on your smartphone , you can t ever compare a smartphone or a tablet to a notebook even if it has 20 core and 10ghz . It is just a fashion thing, if my neyboarh has one , i should buy one myself . People by useless thing just to be in trend.

  • Disappointing, becomes very hot after 10mins use. Overheating? Also starting to auto reboot while flipping web photos.

  • Take I pad mini it is best than S2 because it has greater display, battery, performance than S2

  • My budget is 399$. I cant decide which tab to buy. Should i go for the Tab S 2 or the ipad mini . I need some suggestions.

  • Takes me around 4-5 hours to charge fully from around 5%

  • TAB s is a history with poor ergonomics Tab 4 and Tab S are almost same on UI and ergo. Tab S2 is really a very good grade. Just a bigger S6 !

  • how is charging fast or slow?

  • Hi, what is the GPU of it?

  • Thats in case you use it as a phone ..... alreay have the note 4 i use the tab for browsing and games and some times instead of my laptop not using it for calls at all

  • is it supports the Wireless charging 1?

  • I have both the tab S 8.4 and tab s2 8.0 and I like the tab s2 more since it is faster(the tab S 8.4 was much more laggy for me), the 4:3 aspect ratio is better for most things except video watching, and the tab s2 8.0 can fit into pockets easier(I use the tab s2 8.0 as my daily driver phone that I carry everywhere I go in my pants pockets). Yes there are things where the tab S 8.4 is better in like screen resolution, IR blaster, camera flash but overall the tab s2 8.0 is better than the tab S 8.4.

  • The tab s2 8.0 and 9.7 use 20nm processors not 14nm processors. I just checked using the cpu-z app.

  • No it does not

  • hello.. im looking the different tab s and tab s2.. please give advice which one is better and get more benefit since i find theres not many different. thank you

  • really the TAB S 8.4 is much better than this one it has stereo speakers - 4900 mAh battery - magazine UX - 3GB of RAM - IR port,,,,,,, i was planning to get this one but I found the S 8.4 is much better even I didn't find it easily in stores as it's production stopped because of S2 new series

  • The wifi is blazing fast (60-70 Mbit/s) and the overall speed of UI is excellent: fast and responsive.

  • I think exynos processr is only 14 nm so it saves energy well , thts y ther r using smallr battaries

  • No it wont be

  • I have a Google Nexus Tab 2 Gen and IPad Mini. To the Nexus I have to delete the running apps (using shut app) I have to turn off wifi, bluetooth to reduce battery drain. If I don,t do that in a week the battery comes down. If you are a frequent use (and charge your tablet 2/3 in a week) it's ok. But If you will use your tablet sporadically, android tablets are a bit annoying. iOS system has better control of apps, and is very integrated with the hardware, so it has better battery management. With IPad, you can put your tablet in standby and 2 weeks or more after that you will have more than 50% of your battery. But Samsung have other big advantages, you have SD Card Slot, up to 128GB, AMOLED technology, and probably better price.

  • Does it have a mini-hdmi port?

  • Best tab every ..I have apple tab too but this one is much faster. Two great advantages are namely ; you can expand the memory with 200gb SD card and if you have a Samsung galaxy phone as well you can use both the devices in one, using side the sync app.

  • Some please share light from experience; Comparing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Apple iPad Mini 4 battery ( Li-ion 4,000mAh and Li-ion 5,124mAh) which last longer? Considering these fact in mind {Screen 8.0" vs 7.9", CPU Quad-Core 1.9GHz vs Dual-Core 1.5GHz and an average Network Speed of at least 20Mbps}.

  • hello guys, anybody can tell me if I upgrade the software or firmware will be a problem?

  • I been usimg this sm 715y its getting lte speed but it wont show lte at the top only showing 4g. After a lONGg TIME speed testing its much faster than expected.

  • really good . when can update android verson can tell me?

  • At time being it's the best 8 inch tablet on the market. ... but I'm waiting to see Samsung's 8 inch Note with QHD 10x16 (or 3x4), same performance, bigger battery and improved S-Pen ( more precised :-) - now it goes out of the point about 1-2 mm which is a lot for "retina" display ). Then I'm going to buy it.

  • I just bought this tablet 3 days ago.. The design is very similiar to the newest apple tablet... They use metal frame for this tablet but (unfortunately) the back case is just plastic (not a bad quality plastic though), with 4:3 aspect ratio reading magazing and browsing feel so comfortable.. The screen is... well as expected from samsung super AMOLED i'd say... with QHd resolution, you will find the best display experience for tablet from this Tab S2... The performance is (again as expected) very smooth and fast... The Camera (i don't really care about the camera for tablet though) is surprissingly great, try to capture an outdoor photo and the result is very clear... The speaker is not really amazing, the sound is clear but produce a quite tiny sound (even at 100%)... And for the battery life (mine is 8.0 inch), it can run about 11 hours for watching "local" 720p video (I connect to wifi not mobile data and i turn off the motion gesture + Power saving is turn on) at 50% brightness... For now this is probably the best tablet for android u can get...

  • Yes if u have sm715y lte model

  • This tab overall best smart and cool tab thikest 5.6mm SM- T715Y.nobody can compare it any mobile and tab running year.surroudsound speaker make best .afterall i am very happy with this item.sooooooooo nice for me. Sheroz

  • can i use it like a mobile phone,

  • The only minus of this tablet is that there is no LTE support for AT&T or T-Mobile on 8.0 version. That will make it definitely behind the iPad in sales. It.s really a shame since iPad display is not nearly as gorgeous is this tablet is, let alone the standard confusing ios interface and performance that feels slower (yes all new iPhones and ipads feel slower in Web page loading while connected to the same LTE OR THE SAME WIFI

  • This is very strange. This tablet has the fastest WiFi chip available. Im in new York (cable vision Internet provider) . Average WiFi download speed is steady around 57-59 Mbps! In new York subway stations (transit wireless provider) the average speed is 65 Mbps (based on 60 tests) !!! In comparison my lumina 920 phone gets on average 30 Mbps less on WiFi

  • Hello every, i would like to be fair in writing this tablet review. I have been switch from ipad mini 3 to samsung tab s8.4. I find tab s 8.4 is incredible with in terms of speed ans display. Upgrading from tab s 8.4 to tab s2 8.0 giving me better benefits: Speeds has been totally increase with new processor Exynos 5433, camera functionality and focus with macro is slightly alot better! This is rival for ipad mini 4(similiar size, finger print,resolution,4:3), samsung always have their strategy to tell consumer they can give something better. Welldone samsung, interms of price and spec(best tablet 8.0 u can get out there). Cheers!!

  • i am an user of tab s. i think the width of 12.6cm is too wide for one hand long time holding, must feel uncomfortable after 15mins. this tab s2 is even wider. better place it on desk and use. can consider a narrower device, 12.3cm, might be perfect. progress for the perfect

  • After using for 2 weeks i find its processor n wifi reception worst than Asus zenfone 2 4GB model despite it being Cat 6 while Asus zenfone 2 only Cat 4. Disappointed on this.

  • I've tried both the Galaxy tab s2 8.0 and 9.7 and I like the 8.0 one more since it is portable enough to be able to carry with you at all times. I can fit the tab s2 8.0 into front jeans pockets easily but I can't do the same with the 9.7 since it is too big to fit into pants pockets. In my opinion the tab s2 8.0 has the best screen on any tablet out right now. Samsung usually makes the best screens of any phone or tablet in the market.

  • This is the best tab in the world at present.

  • Battery so small

  • Great Tab.....successor from my Tab S 8.4 LTE The Graphic is very good

  • The best tablet

  • Great tablet! :)

  • Really amazing tablet. Despite having the same hardware as Note 4 phone, the tablet feels faster than Note 5 phone. Now I'm thinking twice whether to buy the upcoming Huawei Mate 8 or to return this tablet and buy the European version of this tablet that has a phone and 4g. There is one drawback though: The microphone grill on this tablet is on the top panel instead of the bottom panel. Therefore when i did a test call (through whatsApp) and recorded a voice-mail to test microphone quality, the sound sounded a bit muffled when holding a tablet in a normal phone position and sounded very clear when holding it upside down. That means talking without a Bluetooth radiation being stuck in your ear on this tablet is impossible unless you are fine with people hearing a muffled sound when you used this phone in a regular position.

  • Yes, you can call on this tablet.

  • Really,is best tablet ever

  • Available as Wi-Fi only (SM-T710) and 3G/LTE models (SM-T715)

  • Can i Call by this model ?

  • Can i Call by this model ?

  • No, it doesn't have gorilla glass screen.

  • Yes you can. Don't be stupid.

  • Usb Port does not work. You can't Connect it to Pc.

  • Could please someone tell does this tab has gorilla glass (or any anti scratch ) ? Ive bought this and have not put any screen protector yet

  • yes it does run all programs including whatup

  • it's support all gsm

  • May i know if tab s2 is compatible to whatsapp? Does it support whatsapp? Tab s1 doesn't . Pls reply asap. I am interested to buy it.

  • Look at first line Available as Wi-Fi only (SM-T710) and 3G/LTE models (SM-T715)

  • hi, I have difficulties finding the correct information about Samsung tab s2. Can I use it with sim card to acces 3g/4g internet? Does it work on any network? Any information will be much appreciated!! Thanks, Aleksandra

  • otg supporting pls yes / no

  • Tab S2 no need Flash, just because its using AF (f1.9) Rear & this is same with S6 & NOTE5 Its means able to absorb more light even capture photo at the low-light. very suggest try by YOURSELF & see the difference.

  • what about the Flash? what is the best Samsung tab available in markat, regarding cam, processor, RAM & Battery timing.....

  • Yes, they is a "touch key light" just disable "POWER SAVING MODE".

  • Hi, GSMarena. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE Plus. Camera: LED Light, YES or NO?? Please... Thank You...

  • sorry, but my tab s2 is really good, except it do not have flash like my previous tab s 8.4 but this tab have preloaded microsoft apps. i love it, speaker is good, can make calls too. everything on tab 8.4 have on it. processor is okay. overal experience is okay, bought at $698 singapore dollars.

  • Y the battery running so fast? in estimate 27h(3G), for me using in wifi less than 4 hours run out off battery. I really so wonder y?

  • Is this tablet has no issue while COC? Thanks in Advance.

  • Tablets our not ment to replace phones, however the tab s2 does have the application sidesync which allows you o sync your phone into your tablet giving you the ability to make phone calls through your tablet.

  • How do you reset when frozen

  • what does it have that will make me think its better than the phone i have

  • Hell...can't play music....mute...

  • Non removable battery means that you cannot remove the back cover of the tablet to take the battery out. For this you need special tools and/or skill to open the back. When this is done, the battery may still need some tampering with to come off.

  • can the samsung galaxy tab s2 play music

  • this is an amaizing device, loved it from its processor

  • Sadly, no.

  • i just want to know about the tab s2 8.0 tablet In this tab 1) can i make a call ? 2) can i play 4k videos? 3)can i connect OTG?

  • I can confirm that my Tab S2 8.0 did work with my MHL adapter (using the 11-pin Samsung adapter the cable came with). The projected image on the TV has black bars on the sides (since the tablet is 4:3), but once I start a video with VLC Media Player, it goes wide screen on my TV. I did not need to plug USB power into the side of the adapter in order for it to work.

  • Wireless charging = No Fast charging = No

  • has it fastcharging?

  • Yes you can use the tablet for call or messagge

  • Is it compatible with mhl 2.0? Or tv out with HDMI?

  • Can i make a call with this tab?

  • Mine LTE with 128Gb and it worth. It better than Tab S and Ipad mini. Tab S2 is super thin, light and fast. Display is stunning. Anything you need is in this Tab. I like it.

  • Mate, your device is not ginuwine :))

  • To me this is the one, the 4/3 ratio is perfect for reading and browsing.

  • Ive got mine but only saying max cpu speed is 1.3ghz but shows 8 cores no matter what benchmark etc i use.

  • I just had it over a week and i must say that it took me a while to finally adapt to the android world. I have had the ipad 2, ipad mini2 and iphone 6plus and very hesitant to give it a try with samsung because i value the things i buy with my money. Without any prejudice apple gave that very good impression of quality to me as a product. S2 tab is great and did not regret getting it. The battery life is the only thing that keeps me worry. Great device from an apple lover.will be back after 6 months for a comment😆

  • It mean you cannot remove battery by yourself (user) if you are not specialize on that.

  • You can't replace it

  • what do you think is the meaning of non removable battery?

  • Have u guys notice that Tab s2 have no "Touch key-light" at all ...... Such a pity ......

  • Wat is meant by Battery non removable?

  • planning to get one this tab, looking good. price still expensive. the price same as ipad air 2!

  • Tab S is much better compare to this tab considering 4800mah battery

  • Does it support exfat file format for files over 4Gb?

  • May you tell me please Does it support otg?

  • Yes it does

  • sometimes battery caacity of this device made me to laugh.lol

  • Does it supports otg? Please help me

  • I have been using this device for two weeks now, what i can say is that, the device overall responsiveness is great. The build quality is also good, chamfered metal rim with soft rubbery back cover which improves grip of the device. Super Lightweight, has a decent battery life (i do not games, just browsing, YouTube and movies) - 6hrs+ of screen-on time using the device's speakers. The screen is just incredible . Good for browsing the web. Even at a lower pixel density of 320 ppi, text and images still look sharp. OTG is also supported which is very nice. But, the Rear Camera should have a flash, a wider angle and higher resolution selfie cam. Also, I noticed that there is a problem with the exposure while recording videos on selfie cam as recording against light tends to darken faces too much in favor of the lighter background. I do not own the previous tab s 8.4 therefore i am only commenting soley for this device.

  • I liked the "iconic android ratio 16:10" for my smartphone. They're great for watching videos in widescreen. But terrible when used to write office documents. The "iconic apple's ipad ratio 4:3" looks promising for reading web/writing documents, but wouldn't use the whole screen when watching 16:10/16:9 widescreen videos (black bands above and below). P.S : I'm not an apple user. I wish I wouldn't have to use anything from Cupertino. That said, for tablets I'm actually leaning more towards the 4:3 ratio, for reading/writing performance, AND the fact that Tablets are Bigger and Wider and Heavier than smartphones it's unnatural to try keep it in your front trousers/shirt pockets, EVEN IF THEY FIT IN THERE (It'll tear your clothes, believe me). - - - I'll post my thought of a solution in the next post - - -

  • - - - Continuing my last post below - - - The problem with video play on 4:3 is those dreaded Black Bands... Now imagine you play a video with subtitles. The subtitles usually float above the "feet/floor/ground/earth/sea/whatever" BLOCKING what you want to see in the video. Now what if those subtitles appears OVER THE BLACK BANDS instead? This means subtitles would ALWAYS VISIBLE, no more colour problems that used to depend on what's the colour those letters are BLOCKING. Also, we could want to see more information on those black bands such as: Video Player's buttons, filename, duration, volume level, Jump to Other Videos, and even Wikipedia-supplied information about the movie you're watching. Not to mention that usually we get the INFORMATIVE Notification Bar hidden when playing videos. This time you can choose to leave it on screen. End of the line: All these "used_to_be_hidden" information and buttons WILL BE DISTRACTING to those who do not want to see it. But I think it worth the try, for the 4:3 Tablet users. By the way, all these turns out to be software related! So I suppose the evolution wouldn't be as hard to realise than other hardware related ideas. Meaning it's a job for Video Player App developers, i.e "MX PLAYER", "YOUTUBE" and so on.

  • Most likely no because the mhl display the aspect ratio of the device and wont stretch it to fill the whole screen

  • I would like to know if I connect tab s 2 with mhl (tv-out) , Will the screen be full size with no blank blackon roght and left of screen such as tab s 8,4?

  • Why this tab function is difrent from tab s 8.4? This tab function are so basic same like tab A8... where is the function to hide/unhide app? What happen to gallery function?? Many features are gone in this tab s2...

  • Yes, voice call are available for this galaxy tab

  • Is voice call possible in Samsung tablets

  • Have you ever heard of a company listened to its customers, Samsung is not an exception, they know that we know that they can provide high quality hardware, software and stylus for low affordable price, but who cares you are 7 billions on that planet and we need to sell 100 million units, they will be sold any way no matter what quality is, that is the mind set of international companies.

  • If samsung want to beat ipad samsung must make galaxy tab note 8 and 9.7 inch.i think stylus is very usefull for tablet

  • I owned a tab s 8.4 for a few months. It was the laggiest device i owned. It was still laggy even after i disabled a lot of bloatware from Samsung. I sold and bought tab s2. What a difference... Also i prefer this aspect ratio. Great for browsing the internet. I regain the pleasure of using a tablet.

  • Sorry to say but the build quality of this tablet looks cheap than Tab S 8.4. But the performance between these tablets, the Tab S2 wins this battle.

  • Tab S 2 install any game n play very smooth, light weight won't let your hand feel tire & it will make your every finger touch & play. Battery consumption much better, fast speed 64 bit processor even battery 4000mah Bravo! Bravo! Fantastic!

  • Additional + 32gb internal memory & Micro SD Card up to 128gb.

  • Hi there, i had try Samsung Tab S & S 2, both devices are good, i had just sold my Tab S 8.4". I had bought new Samsung Tab S 2 8.0" are awesome, screen very smooth, super slim. super light weight, processor 64 bit faster internet browsing, good gaming, camera good too even without flash. I like it very much!!! Bravo Samsung Tab S & S 2 Thanks & Cheers Samsung Mobile Company :)

  • My opinion is still better samsung galaxy tab from the tab S2 S8.4 because judging from the size just looks less premium S2 tab.

  • 16:9 and HD video are here to stay. But this tablet gives users more choice. I never use a tablet in portrait position unless an app forces me to do so. So this model isn't for me. Good to see 16gb tablets might be history some day. Why no flash for the camera?

  • Battery size can only be determined by the space left over after the tablet is designed.

  • go home galaxy tab s 8.4 users go back to your own page we dont need your opinion , stop bragging about tab s is more superior cause of the downgrades , btw as a user of tab s2 it feels more premium than tab s and faster, slim and lighter tho. ,for those who says it is an apple copy by its aspect ratio it is a no.. tab s2 dont look the same as the ipad

  • Could you maybe try how smoothly the game HEARTHSTONE works with this tablet? For may people (including me), this specific game is the main reason for buying a tablet in the first place.

  • If I may add a few comments, as I own a tab s 8.4 and a tab s2 8.0 at this time. I have read that many of you say the tab s2 is a step back. Though I can agree on a couple points, such as removing the flash on the camera, and the removal of the if blaster does take a step back, the rest is a step forward. I know I did not mention the lowered battery, but I do not notice a difference in battery life from the tab s to the s2. Someone before also asked what chipper these use. The tab s 8.4 uses a Samsung exynos series 5 5420 chipset (32 bit octa core using the arm big/little architecture quad core arm v7 @ 1.3 ghz, quad core arm v53 @ 1.9ghz) with a Mali t628 gpu. The tab s2 8.0 uses a Samsung exynos series 7 5433 chipset (64 bit octa core using arm big little architecture quad core arm v53 @1.3 ghz/ quad core arm v53 @ 1.9 ghz) with a Mali t760. So even though clock speeds are the same, the performance is much better both in pure processing power and graphically for gaming. While I am not a huge fan of the 4:3 aspect, it is neither good not provide bad in my opinion. I can say that side by side the color on my tab s2 is slightly better. The s2 feels significantly lighter than the tab s though in reality it is only approximately 50 grams lighter. So what does all this really mean? I can say that even Web browsing at times on my tab s8.4 was leggy and no I'm not talking about my hsi speeds here. I mean chrome, internet, puffin, whichever browser I used, the interface lagged at times. Over all there could be said that the tab s 8.4 would...hesitate. That being saie, I have not experienced such on my tab s2 8.0 so far. I hope this at least helps a few people.

  • You do not need a tablet. I have a Tab S 8.4 & I don't use it at all. I always use my phone or my laptop (most of the time). I don't see any point to buy a tablet.

  • I think my tab s 8.4 has more feature than this tab s2. Why samsung not upgrading the spec, but downgrading it? It will be more perfect if Samsung add the s pen feature for this tab, i will buy it absolutely.

  • Guys Guys, can someone help me understand, i can't figure out the reason of having a TAB! for the info on the go i have my NOTE 4 and for other reasons i have my MACBOOK AIR! so whats the purpose of having a TAB?!

  • added Infrared port :) lighter and slimer :D

  • stop talking Bullshit... In my country (Indonesia) the price only different by about $50 and not to mention the Tab S build quality is shit.. the frame (bronze color) look so damn cheap.. and if u have sweaty hand, the frame color will fade... while the specs is totally similiar, the tab S2 build quality is much better...

  • No Way To Buy It. Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is much better and in affordable price. Same Features.

  • no look change.

  • Mhl??

  • Why Samsung downgrade the battery? 6000 mAh is better

  • S2 is faster and the build is better.

  • Yes buddy, it supports otg

  • Thank you.

  • Hi friends I like to know tab s2 8.0 can Support OTG and HDMI TV output . Please reply. Thank you

  • Seriously? This is consider a downgrade from galaxy tab S. As a gamer i using galaxy tab S i already is unsatisfied with the battery life compare to ipad mini 2 which pack 6000+ mah i dont understand this is SAMSUNG or APPLE ? Why copy so much now? Ipad mini 2 to 3 fingerprint same as tab s to tab s2 are samsung so desperate? IM so dissapointed. For those who wan to buy galaxy tab S2 please reconsider i would highly recommend u to get Galaxy Tab S which have better feel of holding ,battery life and the ratio of screen is perfect.

  • Yes it does have phone capabilties

  • been waiting for this tablet for while to find one huge disappointed , samsung is so notorious for announcing two or 3 version of their product 32/64/128 but they always manage to only come out with the one with minimum storage but meanwhile they do announce it will come out it different storage capacity ....

  • Why on earth they does not put a chipset?

  • Why on earth they does not put a chipset?

  • Does it have a voice calling features like a normal phone? thank you for the help.

  • I very much of the same opinion with you. The news, Samsung S2 Galaxy tablet has withdrawn the flashlight when I was eagerly waiting to buy one as soon as it comes into the market, is really disappointing. What on earth may be behind their decision?

  • Hi friends i like to know tab s 2 8.0 can Support OTG and HDMI tv output . If have please try and reply Thank you

  • Sony z2 has 16:10

  • this is not going forward... when you upgrade it means you want better than your previous one. now when you buy samsung product it feels your buying an iphone or an ipad which im not that much of a fan. tab s1 has a flash now your removed it what were you thinking???? wanna be an ipad sheesh... your samsung for a reason so be a samsung a concentrate more on flexibility and expand what ever you do best not cloning someone else's product

  • Hi friends i like to know TAB S 2 8.0 can Support OTG and HDMI tv output PLEASE ANYONE REPLY Thanks

  • Would like a bigger phone than the 6inch. Tab S2 8.0 seems good, but what happened to the 16:9 aspect which makes it easy for single hand use? And samsung have no 7inch. Looks like huawei mediapad x2 is the only choice for me now.

  • Galaxy Tab s2 Or Tab s1 ??

  • Samsung is just making their tabs closer to apple's. It now has 4: 3 ratio screen like ipads, design is getting like apples

  • ould it be that those that genuinelly like the new aspect ratio are closeted apple-lovers? Because this thing reeks of iPad an awful lot, and not in a good way. Damn, no reason to upgrade my Tab S 8.4.

  • Hi friends i like to know tab s 2 8.0 can Support OTG and HDMI tv output Thanks

  • Same here. Looks like some specs are backward. Battery capacity is lower. Pixel density is lower. These 2 alone turn me off for the new tab s.

  • Hi friends Can anyone tell me tab s2 8.0 have OTG and HDMI please reply soon i am thinging to get 1 soon Thank you

  • Its already available in UAE in AED1799 Wifi + LTE model

  • No thank you Im happy with my s tab 1 8.4 LTE... not going to upgrade to that. Not at all.

  • Does this tablet support phone call?

  • Thanks Samsung to bring this size and of aspec ratio 4:3. I like to read newspaper along with books like many other. Keep up the good job with this weight. As for those who do not like this aspec ratio please stay on your gadget and do not be selfish and let other enjoy this size and this weight.

  • I have owned samsung galaxy tab s8.4 LTE for a year.i loved it alot and waited to see its next generation tab s (2).Now by knowing its release and its specifications i am completely disapponinted due To its Spuarish build due to which its not possible to handle it by one Hand ,smaller screen resolution with 310 to 320 ppi only as compared to 359ppi.The camera is still 8 mp/2.1 mp.Hoping that it will be improved and will record 4k but its not.I was hoping for a snapdragon processor howerver it is improved but very little. No expandable storage option with microsd. The battery has also been disappointingly dropped to 4000mah from 4900mah.All in all according my point of view will might be a better tab for a reader of books or bussines men.SO I WILL NOT UPGRADE TO THE NEW TAB S 2 BECAUSE MY TAB S 8.4 IS BETTER THAN THE NEW ONE.DISAPPOINTED BY SAMSUNG and DESIGNERS THIS TIME.OVERALL.... LOVE THE SAMSUNG.

  • This doesn't differ so much from my Tab s 8.4 LTE Shame Samsung nothing new .. just a bit faster processor than an already fast one & square 4:3 CRT-like design than modern useful 16:9 ... Shame Lame And just 8 M.pixel ... may be 16 or @least low 13 M.pixel be Good enough ... & slow motion video " 240 -120 Fps @ 720p @ least " ... & numerous modes in camera like prolonged exposure setting like an option " open shutter till 4 seconds @ least " .... & 3D shooting " double lens " would be interesting >-< & No S-pen yikes .. wasted screen sheer size " which is also a downgrade from my 8.4 Tab s " Not to mention battery low Capacity "4000 Mah from 4900 " fsssss & pffffffff Not Innovative ... So ill keep My very Good Tab s " one " until Samsung change their managers & designers & un-innovative Technicians " not leveled to intelligent engineers" >-<

  • not bad for the next gen Tab S... NOT bad

  • I also own Tab S 8.4, but compared to Tab S2 8, It still be better than this new version both spec & dimensions. A lot of feature is decreases or not avaliable any more as Resolution (lower), Battery (lower), LED Flash (no more), Infrared Port (no more), Drop Box cloud storage (no more),... Let's see what's price in my country?

  • I think we don't use tab for watching videos all the time. So it make sense to have 4:3, it's not uncomfortable for watching videos and it's good for reading, trust me.

  • LOL your opinion does not speak for all of us, we tabbers love to take our tablets anywhere and a little love on the camera department wont hurt, why buy a separate device if you can own an all to one machine. just like when you phone users wish for a better camera, remember the early days of camphone where people wished for a better camera and most people advised "you dont need a phone to take pictures, buy a digital camera!" where are we now?

  • In reply to the guy that likes 4:3, samsung been making 16:10 for many years and most of expect that screen res. It's why we don't buy apple. Samsung please bring back the 16:10 and 16:9 tabs.

  • lol you don't need a tab for taking pics , vids. buy a phone bro much easier for filming , comfortable for taking pics

  • tab s2 has Exynos 7420 compared with Exynos 5430 (tab s) its gpu is a beast I wish it will be available in ph in this month..

  • i'm totally agreed with you, i compared both specifications and i am happy that i won't have to buy another sammy this year ;)

  • Am I wrong or last year's samsung tab s 8.4 has better specification, especially better battery and screen resolution?

  • same here m8. This tab s just another reason not to upgrade

  • I have the tab s 8.4 and execpt for 1440p video and 32/64gb memory, my tab is actually better. Especially the higher screen resolution. If I hwd 64gb internal memory instead of 16, that would have been great, but even niw, no reason to upgrade.

  • i have it

  • Yep I agree. I have the oled 7.7 and 8.4 and don't see any point in upgrading even though I'd prefer a metal frame tbh. Will wait for next years Tab S

  • talk for yourself ! Samsung is still number in smartfons and they make only what people want. It's that clear !

  • Not sure if he design the tablet too but his name is Kevin Lee. He is already pulled down from his position in Samsung design team. He is the guy who design that band-aid Galaxy S5 back panel and Note 3 leather back. He let out his anger by stating that Samsung will never be able to design without him. And I might exagerated the story a little. Just a tiny bit.

  • smaller dan tab 8.4,is perfect for holding with one hand for everybody

  • I really like to see the person who is responsible for the design of tab s2 in person. I always wanted to see a well paid idiot. Shame summy! You make Apple even richer.

  • yes ur right

  • no new features, only video is good ,no flash also.better buy old tab s

  • Am i missing something here? I don't see anything new except for that 2 at the end.

  • galaxy tab s 2014 is better than this

  • sammy still playing catchup. could have done a lot better!

  • the resolution is just like apple tabs , but with better processor , this tab has been made from ipads of apple , i hate the things which are not made unique,

  • Have you ever thought that in this word could even exist professional users that use their tablet for working rather than watching movie and playing stupid games

  • Epic fail with screen, I'd get 8.4 tab s with higher resolution.

  • So how is that?

  • 4:3 is like taking 2" off the screen while watching a movie.

  • I am so disappointed, with Samsung copying Apple. Using these tablets since the great 7.7, when I hear they make the 4:3 screen I went and got last year model tab S 8.4. As I use this all in one computer/phone for business trips. 1. 4:3 screen, means you loss a lot of screen when watching movies. 2. 8meg camera, why not 12+, don't you see people using iPads/tabs to take vids and photos. the poor 8meg camera take such crap photos, and the size of the tablet really means you need a better camera as it harder to hold still. 3. Samsung please fix your software, do not hide the top bar with the time and phone reception when your making a call. You do not do it on a 5" why do it on a 8" ???

  • The low end Tab A gets an s pen and this one doesn't... come on Samsung make something that makes sense

  • not better than tab s but samsung can change their mind cause this tablet didn't realease yet.plzzz samsung make front camera 5 mega pixel nd give flash or i will vote z4 tablet

  • Where are the LED flash and SD card slot?

  • For the love of Mary . Ignore Apple and give be it a Wacom digitiser .Why do Samsung always fragment their product lines. You want an active digitiser you have to get a lower Res screen .

  • This is a downgrade as far as I am concerned. If I wanted a Samsung that looked like an IPAD I would have bought an IPAD. Samsung is out of touch with its audience if they think that people who buy the Tab S, is buying it for reading glossy magazines and E-Books ? I use it for Web browsing, playing games and watching movies. They should of kept the 16:10 ratio

  • Samsung would've done well for themselves had they envisioned pent up demand for less superfluous features.

  • I would call this new tab a regression from the previous one. Lower pixel density, lower battery capacity, switch from 16:9 to 4:3, no flash. Obviously, Samsung is trying to copy Apple, which is a bad move. They are no longer unique in their design and functionality. Applenization at its fines. I'll keep my tab S who was produced on May 1 , 2015.

  • Who the hell using tabs now? My kids threw way all the tabs they had and laptops. They are using home PC for school work and phablet for playing games and fun. I have NOTE 8 not using it at all. I regret why I have bought that? Eeeeeeeh.... Seriously Tabs are just a Toy and no more than that....

  • Please...go to mobile shop and check the difference between 4:3 and 16:9 screen resolution, then you understand what we were missing from tablets... 4:3 good for web browsing and reading books...I dont think it will effect too much for video files..For word documents its very good idea...Have you ever tried to write word document by using 16:9 display?

  • Its not all about battery, its about chip which is inside, which makes it better and battery will be last longer! For instance I have samsung tab 2 but when I play game it consumes so much power and generates heat more than galaxy tab 4 8.0 3g which has less battery according to screen resolution and this tablet manages keep cool...

  • A sidegrade lol

  • Is it a upgrade or DOWNGRADE ?!?!?!

  • tab s 8.4 lte is better and better specs too

  • Does anyone know what happened to samsung's second generation galaxy tab pros? Its been like almost a year and a half since samsung released the tab pro 8.4, shouldn't there be a refresh release?

  • I agree with you too lol, my 7 inch phone(huawei mediapad x2) has a 5000 mah battery, this tab s2 8.0 has about 35% larger screen than my 7 inch phone but has only a 4000 mah battery. Well what can you expect nowadays, tablets are becoming less and less popular with declining sales so I don't think OEMS spend as much effort, time and development in producing very good tablets anymore in comparison to smartphones.

  • I agree with you since media consumption is much better on a widescreen device than a 4:3 ratio device. And most people use tablets for primarily media consumption.

  • Nice and light, thin but at what cost: feeble battery! Lower mAh than Tab S 8.4, a tablet which I loved except for the barely OK battery life. Sold it and bought the Xiaomi Mi Pad instead: great battery life: 6700 mAh. Equally good quality and screen res to Samsung's Tab S 8.4 and much less expensive - heavier though so you can't have everything.

  • First here to comment. I like the 16:9 screen aspect ratio than 4:3 ration
