Siemens A60 - User Reviews

  • my first color phone, I had it for three years and it worked perfectly.

  • my 1st Mobil , I'm very happy because i found it here

  • My very first cellphone, so happy to have it because I bought it with my first salary

  • My first phone as well. Bought way back in 2004, still in perfect working condition (except that the battery drains out in a day). I use is even now on regular basis.

  • It was my first mobile phone and purchased it back in 2004...it was very nice phone and sound clearity was so good even I can listen clearly while travelling in public

  • this is my first mobile simple and best small phone

  • this sweet small mobile was my first mobile which i use in by life from 2004 to 2006 then i got an another mobile but this mobile was really awesome .. Once my small bro threw this mobile in water tub at that tym it stoped working but next day i put it in the sun n started working again it was really a strong mobile i also use to hit my frnds with my mobile

  • Well, I bought it in 2003, and had used it about 4 years. During this time I regular try to break or drown it. After theese years I bought new smartphone and stop using A60. Nowadays, I had got another broken smartphone, 5th one... Ok, I'm moving back to use A60... Maybe I will buy ME45 little bit later... xD

  • Durable, could endure hard falls, sleek design, and nice voice, polyphonic ring tones, one of the basic phones I liked.

  • Oh wow, my first phone ever. I still remember how cool I was when everyone else still had mostly Nokia 3310 in my area and I got this coloured bad boy.

  • Had this phone 2004-2011(!). Yes, this one has absolutely zero advanced capabilities, no camera, no voice dialing, no calendar, no BT, nothing... HOWEVER, it has survived such falls that could've disintegrate a thousand iphones to subatomic particles with the only damage was the flimsy cover coming apart. It once fell into the toilet (thankfully, before and not after...) - took it out, dried it and it's still working to this very day. The only thing I ever did with this phone was to replace the battery. The speaker is so-so and it's a bit slow at times but it served me well for basic calls and messaging. Replaced it with a refurbished 6230i (lets see how well it'd do) and the A60 was given to my dad, hopefully to serve a few more years...

  • my first coor phone... nostalgy

  • Is it Tri-band? Will it work when I take it to the USA?

  • My first phone ever back in May 2004 on Orange - came free with my mums Avon order. Excellent features and one of the first colour phone's I saw - everyone else was still on B/W. But it kept conking out due to my excessive texting - lol. Other than that it was fantastic - Wish they still did them.

  • my first phone as well.... still in working condition and still on the same battery that came with the phone. love this phone

  • Bought it in August 2004, for just R$80 (about US$40). Amazing phone. Loved to fill it with midi ringtones and 101x80 png and jpeg pics. I guess it was my 10th cellphone but I still love it.

  • My first phone . Is an very good phone with a good battery and I think A60 was the best phone for those time

  • It's verry good phone

  • i need internet how will i do?:S

  • The Best Basic Mobilephone(with colours)EVER***** (I`ve been using it now 4 years, and still going strong, never any problems!!!)

  • i have this phone, use everyday good batery spearks very loud, don't trade for any other...

  • This was my introduction into mobile phones! The main 'fault' I found with it was the keypad lock button. I found it out to my cost on a holiday to Turkey, when the button was accidentally pushed, and began connecting with everything in my phonebook and Virgin Bites. I have nothing against the phone and still have it today, albeit as an emergency back-up. Had there been a two-button fail-safe I would still be using it as my phone of choice for a no-frills, does what it says in the book(and well), reliable means of communication

  • Very basic phone. Not many options available. Basic sounds and melodies. Quite good battery.

  • very good !! the best phone!!!!!!

  • I've bought 2 of these now, one on Virgin and one on Vodaphone. They're great little phones, don't do much else! But if you just want to make calls and text then they're spot on! Good reception all the time on both, battery lasts about 3-4days, maybe charge it up at the end of the day if ive made more than 30mins of calls, but really thats alot for me. If all you want is a simple phone then these are recommended! Easy to navigate the menu, loudspeaker can be activated when making a call just by pressing the top left button twice, and is clear and plenty loud enough. Very basic nowadays but it does what its designed to do! They sell for around 5 on ebay, for that price i just keep one in the car for emergencies. 'Thumbs Up!'

  • i like this phone.... i received this phone from a friend and i do check my mail on this phone. so i just wana say thanks.

  • No Java???

  • well i had been usin des phone for abt more dan 3 monthz n da tones r bad display is dull it mosli gives da speaker problem

  • My sister has just recently given me her old one and I like it very much. It does the job. S

  • it is a very good phone,my mom had used it more than 3 years and the batery is holding 1 week>its the greatest siemens phone

  • my girlfriend has been using the A60 for 3 years now and it still works perfectly, the keys are wearing a bit, battery life is less but still good! it just seems indestructible this one. i think the ringtones are annoying and the display is a bit dull but that doesn't matter because she just needs it for calling and the occasional sms.

  • hi im after some info if i could, my mums friend came round and gave her phone ( a60 ) to my little sister to play games on when she gave it her back it said that the phone was barred and she can only make SOS calls. Anyone got any ideas how i can unlock the phone without buying a data cable as you all know u may aswell buy a new phone if you got to buy a data cable. many thanks shan.

  • Hi, My name's Craig, I work for Vodafone. I was just reading through some of the comments about this phone and was surprised to see many negative comments. This phone is in fact - for a basic phone - a very good one. I personally had this phone a few years back and never had any complaints. A friend of mine also had this phone and had the saem opinion. None of the bad points left by other people have I had and I would recomment this phone to anyone who wants a nice, bright, simple, easy-to-use phone.

  • I don't know why people are giving it -ve cooments? Its not that bad. This was meant to be a budget phone for smalller markets & it does its job without much hassle.

  • It's not a bad basic phone. I got it when I was working in London last year. I took it back with me to the States, and it works just fine with Cingular Wireless.

  • Actually, it's not worth it for older people either. The buttons on the phone extrude too much, and keep getting pressed at random while in a bag or pocket. Combine this with an imbecilic one-button locking mechanism (couldn't they have used two buttons for locking, like Nokia?), and you have a phone that keeps unlocking itself when it shouldn't, and while you don't know. It's not even good as an ultra-basic cellphone for talking only. With rubbish such as the A60, it's no wonder Siemens had to sell off their mobile division.

  • no downloadable games and stupid pre-installed ones, no java application, no infrared, no bluetooth, no calendar, no organizer, no dymanic vibration (C35i had a very nice duck one and C55 had many vibration styles).... so if i need to give it a name, i would call it the NO Phone. But it has a use still... u can give it as a gift to ur 70 years old grandmom ;)

  • This phone is super. I donnt know wat ur bad coments are..... its the lord of mobiles except no game download and very few games in mobile... but i have it its surely better than siemens m35!!!!

  • its just a fone and worse because the mouthpiece just went out and no technician can fix it. quite irritated.

  • Quite probably the worst phone I've had the misfortune of owning, ever.. I bought this one 1.5 year ago as a -relatively- cheap, throwaway phone for use during my national service, because I had been satisfied with older Siemens models (especially M35i). Unfortunately, the Siemens A60 proved itself to be a piece of garbage, even for its low-end positioning. This phone turned me off Siemens mobiles for ever! Problems.. --Flimsy construction, creaking plastics, gets scratched all too easily --Does not have automatic keylock feature. Additionally, the manual keylock itself is useless, as it is stupidly bound to a single button (#), meaning that the phone will regularly unlock itself while touching your keys, or some coin in your pocket. --The keys (ALL the keys, including "call") have a lousy feel, and the tendency to easily get pressed while the phone is in your pocket. This might lead to unwanted calls and charges quite often. --It has no archive. Seriously. You open up the "calls" list to check when you made a previous call, or sent a past sms, and you're surprised to see.. it doesn't keep records for anything outgoing! --Lousy battery uptime. Drains within 2 days of sparse use. --No calendar!! --Build quality is so bad that a 1.5 year old device looks like it's been beat worse than my 4 year old M35i (and 5 year old Nokia!). Need I continue? This a phone to be avoided -- even if someone gives you one for free, pay a couple of euros more to buy a *real* cellphone, and send this one to the trash, where it belongs.

  • I am using this phone for 2 months. In the start I found this fone good, but after some time I really got bored of it. It doen't have no MMS. Its colours are also very dull and yellowish. One cannot compare it with any other colour fone. :(

  • One more thing: If your battery does not stand enough - remember to set the brightness. In the evening I set it to 20%, and in daylight - about 40-50%. Note that few models in the world have both brightness and contrast settings !!! (constant and traditional disadvantage of Sony Ericcsons)

  • I had this phone about 2 years ago and I was very satisfied. Yes, still wonder about it's functional cut off. But if you hunger for MMS and Java (downloadable games) - just buy C60 - plus external camera compatibility. All the rest in C60 is the same. If you want also calendar, organizer, voice dialing, email - buy M55. M55 is the best you can get for it's prise. Shortly - you get pretty enough for the price. Now about the battery - I would like to disagree with Geoff. It lasts pretty long: - if I play the game/setup options for over 1 hour/day it lasts steadily for about 5 days !!; - if I leave it "in peace" the battery STANDS OVER 7 DAYS, and often 8 !!! About the # key - sometimes the keyboard unlocks in the pocket - well, but do not place the phone in tight jeans and keep the display/keyboard to the body. About the WAP - I downloaded much pictures and ringtones (midi) - no problems setting them to a group. And now about the game. I really loved this phone just because it's color 2D version of Stack Attack !!! Now I have Siemens CX65 - it has the Stack Attack Advanced - the 3D color version. But I still feel great nostalgy about the 2D colored version - nothing is better! Trust me! As far as I know, c60 has it too. Finally - I would not prefer Nokia 1100 to a60, but I'd rather get Siemens C60 or M55. Good luck!

  • I have had it 4 ages want the LG F2400, but apparently bluetooth don't wurk. Key lock is rubbish, it spent 10 on internet! Takes ages 2 turn on. Waitin 4eva 4 anyfin! No camera, no downlodes, no gud games! No nothin

  • I am unable to view the screen content(complete blank). so someone help me how to increase the bright/contrast or how to reset it.

  • it is very nice , and cheap

  • Hm... i don;t know about othe people, but I am satisfied with this phone... I have it for a year, and no problems ocured. The battery lasts 5-6 days if I don't use it very much (SMS from time to time), and 3-4 days if I play a little. It has the basics, but I really wanted a calendar :(. I will change my phone now because it's getting really old :). I have dropped it too many times in a year, but it doesn't have anything.

  • This phone is poor for some basic reasons. Its battery life is very poor and the keypad lock is completely ineffective due to it being the # key. It unlocks itself and sent itself 43 email a couple of days ago... ouch the cost! I would advise aagainst this one!

  • its a crap fone and NOBODY should ever buy it.by the way can u get covers in mandurah W.A. cya ps remember NEVER get this fone cya l8a evry1 luv yah mwamwa lucy

  • i think the name siemens made the a60 look very bad because of the name

  • It is a great phone, but I sold mine and bought a Nokia 1100. I hope I made the right choise...The only problems that I have with the A60 is that it doesn't have MMS. You can basicaly download nothing with it. My Phonecode was blocked and I had to call Siemens. They wanted to charge me R75 to give me a new Phonecode. The sollution that I had, was to rather restore my Factory Settings. The only problem was that I couldn't use a phonecode anymore because it was blocked. The Siemens A60 is worth its price.

  • how do i reset the language to english? because my A60 was stolen and retuned in a different language plz tell me jake bateman

  • i have this fone and its absoloutly perfect for its price. its low on memory a bit slow but otherwise it is a dream. the wap is good but i dont like the fact that it does not have downloadable games. i sujest a first time buyer should get this fone.

  • ok phone lots of good features i have got this phone

  • what i can say to this fone: the phone is great but it lacks MMS...why didnt the siemens put MMS to it????its a colored phone with no use at all because it has no MMS...it will actually be a more competetive phone if it has a MMS.... since it the nokia dominates the cellphone market here in the philippines, try to build more shops in the phils., major cities like cebu or davao..and where can i download free polytones or pics...i really cant access to the WAP because the globe, smart and sun telecompanies doesnt have the GPRS settings of this phone...if you can satisfy my needs, feel free to email me at [email protected]!

  • why does it not have an infrared pot

  • a nice phone but why is it that the phone has few ringtones.

  • Can I download games with it? Please, help! When I tried to download a game(compatible with my mob.) it says: HTTP Error: 406 Not Acceptable........

  • hi great phone so far, how do i set up my inbox thanks kigo

  • this is really a an awesome!i jus luv it!though u cant download games!but still one can download animations, wall papers,ringtones.....but the best is d sound .this phone sounds really superb and its great!surfing is also very fast!and moreover its userfriendly!!!!! if there wud hav been MMS..things wud hav gone xcellent!but still no one can get a color phone with one of the best resolution and sound for a cheaper price like d A60. SIEMENS A60 IS COOOOOL MAN!!!GO FOR IT...CHEAP n BEST!

  • A very good phone & very very resistant...i`ve dropt it a lot of times and is good as new.i`m having it for about 1 year.batery lasts 4 days.

  • This phone is very good, but it has very small memory how can i enlarge it? help me please:)

  • i bought this phone to have entry level tri band phone. i am very satisfied with this phone. i talk for 10 mins in day and i need to charge it once in five days. it has gprs class 8 and wap 1.2 browser. summarrizing it has all the features of phone. it does not have organizer, good alaram clock etc. overall a very very good phone.

  • it is the best of phones

  • why in the lords name i cant download any ringtones ?if anybody knows then kindly mail me and let me know

  • I "lost" the T9 function.. Anyone knows how to retrieve it? Thanks :)

  • EMS= Enhanced Message Service. An extension of SMS that enables the sending of a combination of simple melodies, images, sounds, animations and formatted text as a message to another EMS-compatible phone.

  • what is ems?

  • hi,i've got a siemens A60. i'm very satisfied with this phone!!It is super

  • It's generally a good phone, but has no features!!! Can aynbody tell me where to find a T9 language to upload to it????

  • can anyone tell me what website i can go on to get free ringtones?????????????

  • Need a data suite for siemens a60

  • can myhandphone type A60 upgrade to type C62 ?

  • It's quite a cute little phone - and very advanced considering its price and size. The best one I've seen so far.

  • i think the siemans a 60 is quite a good phone but how do i get my deleted messages back on please text me on 07969383864

  • Its a good phone, lots of cool things. I heard there is a camera available for it now though, any ideas where i can get hold of one?

  • Its a wicked phone. I can't find anywhere that i can download games, nor can i find anywhere that sells clip on covers, Any ideas people?

  • I just bought one of these today. It's difficult to learn how to use it after Nokia because it's so different. But I think I can manage it. :) Seems okay. Ringtones are loud and clear (not always a good thing though). But it's going to be only a middle phone for me... I'm still gonna buy a Nokia. Nokia rulezzzz!!!

  • I think that this is the best phone ever!!!!!!! call me if u want me!! 01225 427366

  • alcatel 332 vs siemens a60 which is better??

  • Is is better to give 25 for this one or 50 for the Siemens C62?

  • does it have a ringtone composer? wat is it's price in dollars.

  • Price for A60: 99

  • Nice one! Looks Good, nice (basic) features, colour screen,... at a very nice price. Of Coutrse at this price you can't expext bluetooth and that stuff...

  • nice

  • they're nice & cute.

  • price should something around 90 euros..like..it's kind a cheap..

  • Wat will be the price of this phone. will it be more expensive than A55.

  • This is a nice phone with very affordable price. Good.

  • Low end phone with 4096 color display.. well done! Great deal!

  • Looks good with its price. Triband and color phone.. impressive.. Good job.

  • I've got a T300 and I'd say the only thing missing on this phone is MMS and a camera attachment...all this for 90 Euro.

  • wtf, it's menu like sony ericsson's t300 and pixel size rippers :/

  • Nokia - Take a look at the low end phone from Siemens. It has 4096 color and Triband! Please recall all the 1100 and 2100 units! Siemens Rules!

  • Siemens want a share of the entry-level market. It's a phone with good features at a price of....90 Euros!!!(about $105-110)
