Motorola V60i - User Reviews

  • The display can be easily repaired. The phone itself is quite easy to disassemble and to replace parts.

  • no alarm clock?!?!?

  • A great phone. I have a problem with it.The display light does not work. I am calling on the blind. No display at all.

  • I'm still using it from 2003 till now ... a superb and great phone ever created by mankind.

  • where to insert sim card....

  • the sim is just underneath the battery

  • Remove the antenna..there you see a space to put the simcard.??????? ARE YOU HAVING A LAFF?

  • I enjoy reading your comments about the phone but honestly my head aches i just can't imagine a mobile without space for a sim!!!? pls. somebody this to me...

  • Remove the antenna..there you see a space to put the simcard. Good luck

  • Great phone for its day. I started using it again (Holiday Season '09) since mobile phone robberies are on the rise again here in the Philippines. I seriously doubt a phone "snatcher" would grab this 7-year old relic from my hands ha ha ha.

  • Absolutely a wonderful phone. I have lost the antenna...Anyone out there have one for sale?

  • Absolutely a wondewerful phone. I have lost the antenna...Anyone out there have one for sale?

  • Imust say this phone is quite unique! so unique that I have 2 units of it lol ;p

  • i have a v60i and where do i add the sim card ...no place in the back of the phone for a card

  • 2nd best phone i've ever had and i've been through about 10 phones. dropped this thing so many times and had so many dents on the metal case and the phone always worked. i regret selling it

  • lol. I've dropped this phone 11 times and it still works haha

  • I just got this phone because I broke my phone and its to soon for an upgrad. Its like it was never used but where is the sim card??I can't find where to put my sim card in

  • Nice phone, but not very reliable.I have only had it for about a year, when the displays (bothe internal and external) have started to fail. Eventually they both stopped working and I wasn't able to see who was calling me, the numbers I was dialing, or anything else. The only visual indicator I had left was a flashing status light. I expected this phone to last for a while, but It didn't. Otherwise, the phone was working fine.

  • this the more strong phone.

  • I have two Mint condition V60i (TDMA) boxed and stashed away due to the Cingular/AT&T Wireless takeover...and nowthe new 'at&t' again (noticed the small caps?). I made the switch to T-Mobile and needed one that utilizes a SIM card so I just bought (another and 3rd) an unlocked V60i from ebay yesterday. In my opinion, the V60i was the best phone Motorola had ever produced. It is rugged; the reception is ridiculously good, built like a tank and virtually bullet-proof, not to mention very stylish! By far, its the best phone Ive used to date. In the past, I have used Nokias, Ericssons and a whole lotta Motorolas (from the PT-550 - circa 1992). But the two that I cant seem to part with is the V60i and my very 1st generation V3 Razr (which I am also using currently).

  • Bought an almost new V60i and i prefer it above all the phones i ever had. What a beauty and i don't mis a camera at all. Even have more attention with my V60i than my friends with their Nokia's N73 and 8800. Believe me; when there will be a lack of inspiration to develope new phones, they are gonna pimp up retro-phones and the V60i will be one of theme.

  • OK... V60i is the greatest phone I ever had... Im using the same V60i TDMA (do not uses SIM card) for years! Well... actually I need to change this to a v60i GSM, because my provider is not working well... but I CANT find any one for sale!!!

  • up to now I have had 3 V60i, the first one which was inside my trousers and of course it was broken. the second was better but with lots of scratches on the cover so I bought another one that's my current v60i. what's I like the most is its call quality. the voice from the person i'm talking to is ALWAYS warm, clear and solod. But now I want a MPX 220

  • I got this in 2003, lent it to a friend in 2004 and just put a new SIM card in it in 2006 to use as a backup phone. It has a black and white screen and not as many functions as my main phone, but it still rocks. :>

  • with all other phones on the market, I can't believe I am still in love my v60i. In fact, i love it so much that i bought a v60i GSM on ebay with the my first one as v60i TDMA (dont use sim card). I have been using my GSM for more than a year now and works well for me. To be honest, sometimes the simplest phone is the one that is most durable. Plus the look of the phone still looks great (since it was out about 7 years ago. Look at other reviews as well to see what others say about this phone.

  • I've had this phone for a good two years, and although it's probably the chunkiest and oldest thing EVER it has been with me through some hard times. I've dropped it plenty of times and it still hasn't broken (knock on wood) like a lot of other phones. Also it's saved my life a couple of times (I won't go into detail). Too bad they don't sell it anymore because it's freaking bomb skeet skeet.

  • the first moto i liked :) the second one is V3 (V3x)! both have metallic casing...all the plastic phones are garbage :)

  • Well, first I have got this phone for 1 year and my anthena broke and I have not change it, my V60i was accidently fall from a second floor house and months later I was pushed to a pool with my cellphone and believe it or not... Its Still Working! I suggest people buy this cellphone ... is very good and price is 1,000RD thats less than 20 dolars... Thanks for reading my Story..

  • thank you for the work you guys are doing for us,about this v60c and v60i,i like this phones, is a good phones, and keep up the good. bye

  • This is my second phone, the first being the v60t. I just love the slick design n its got just enough features for practical use. Give me a V60i colour with camera N I will happier!

  • i hate this phone its garbage. you cant even get ringtones.

  • i like it and all but its just that i truly dont think that u can download ringtones bec. when i got mine it didnt come with the cord to hook ^ w/ the comp. so. i dont think u can but.... if U can download ringtones or anything PLLLEEEEEAAASSSSEEEEE tell me! thankz love:_*~britt~*_

  • its apparently a popular question. but can u download ringtones and/or screensavers?

  • Where can you get a ringtone? This is so annoying. I need a ringtone. PLEASE someone tell me a site.

  • Can you download ringtons on a V60i tracfone? if you can would you please email me

  • Can you get a plan for this fone? If so plzzzz email me, soon. (but this fone is pretty good i have had not one problem with it) :D

  • Can you download ringtones?

  • can you download ringtones or games to a motorola v60i tracfone?

  • i have to say it, this fone may be old, but it is beautiful. On par with a nokia 8850

  • Can you download ringtones onto the V60i tracfone?

  • I have this phone for like a year now and i have changed the antenna like 6 times!!

  • i had this phone for a while it wasnt too expensive 4 me, it was a true classy phone after seeing mine other reletives went to buy it mine is of course the only lasting one. after having 2 really expensive phones and currently owning a samsung d500 tht cost 320 i want my v60i back i love it

  • I bought this phone for way too much money when it first came out, I hate it and still do. Say I get a call and the battery's close to dead, it drops the call, freezes up, refuses to turn off and keeps ringing or vibrating, only way to shut it up is to remove the VERY awkward battery cover and remove the battery, not to mention the entire screen went off because the battery discharged too low -- don't ask me how it happened, but the stupid phone won't display anything on the inside screen and total gibberish on the outside. Thumbs down!

  • it is nice.

  • I had this Motorola for a year and i got sick of it eventually. Too serious, not a lot of ringtones, just a few and the ones you have are pathetic compared to other phones. Its a nice shape, nice design, but...but....not a lot of fun...not a lot of features to it. No games, no ringtones that are good. Plus the price was absolutely ridicolous at the time...too expensive and not so good. So i would suggest you not to buy it, unless you use your cell only for business. By Stardust-Italy

  • i need more ringers can someone give me a site

  • you can not download ringtones to the v60i

  • this phone is a piece of sh*t. i hate with a passion that anyone cannot simply imagine. extremely fragile. the attenna broke i dont know how many times. no good features and a boring screen. v60 and at&t service do not mix at all.

  • i have enjoyed the v60i but now ive have problems with static when i recive or make call trying to get replcement is like pulling teeth rings can be louder

  • the phone is nice but it doesnt have too many important features, and memory is low for certain items.

  • very rugged at work but extremely formal for social events!

  • i just love the motorola v60i... small, triband capabilities and reception is great! it has sooooo many features compared to you know what (phone) that just changes the casing but the software is still the same... great!

  • I've had my v60i for almost 2 months now. Great phone for those who want a cellular phone for what it is -- making and receiving calls! The build is solid, the looks -- sleek and expensive! And the phone is reliable. Although battery life is short. Motorola needs to expand its horizon though and its after-sales networks. It's so difficult to get this phone's accessories in the Philippines!

  • Is there a way to personalize your screeen that shows on the outside of your phone with your name or something other than cingular and the date and time?

  • I bought this phone after using so many nokia models. The design are very nice and the reception sound are also clear. User functions not so friendly as Nokia phone but these V60i really look very class especially with the gold color and also the external really useful. I tried on the GPRS and it works fast. Good phone if you go design and not common as Nokia.

  • To jo, ringtones composer is under the menu Ring Styles -> My Tones -> New Tone

  • a phone better than the v70, nice aluminium cover, ringtongs and vibralert better than the v70,

  • i dont how to compose a ringing tone. can u help me? Where can i get it?

  • So good, So good!!!!!!!!!

  • I forgot to add that the approximate usage data I've given is on a single day basis.

  • To H&h, colour screen is not the only way to judge a phone, as this phone is not intended for it. It was aimed at business professional, who are looking for funtionality rather than cosmetics. To Roxy, this phone hasn't got titanium casing, but metal, yes. I think it's only for the front part, though. The back casing looks fake and I'm pretty sure it's just plastic. To sss, I'm using the phone approximately 2 hrs talking time, 15 sms, and it will last for around three days. Charging time is a bit slow, though. App. 3 hrs.

  • This phone has TITANIUM COVERS???The dealer said that yes. Please tell me!!!

  • It has alarm???How much the battery works in normal use??Please tell me couse i want to buy one and i don`t know what to do?

  • Isn't it so cool?!!!?!!!?!!!?!!!?!!!

  • ok, if compare to other moto phones but can not reach other brand name phone with the same price

  • cool

  • This is not such a good phone. It DOES NOT have a color screen and that is realy bad.All the new phones have it

  • Nokia have their own "free" site for download software, But Motorola is not.

  • Motorola friends: I cant't hold the v60i in cold days, it seems a soap, and it escape of my hand. The ring tones need more loudness, I can't hear my phone ringing sometimes when I'm in noisy places. The letters in display are SO LITTLE, I enhanced it, but is the same way for people who have presbicia.....I'm older than 40! For many many many reasons I miss my old black and FLAT Star-tac....! Have a good day and I'll be happy to read your comments to me.

  • I have the same question of someone named Unkown. Yes, in the manuals I found on Internet Motorola "lancer" that : The phone book with 1000 numbers maximum storage ! And the "My tones" feature, it's not perfect like manual demo. And I also saw some more features , it's similar above, not perfect. In the diference country, V60i take some changes and it's become not excelence phone as original version, in Sigapore, Germany...for example.. However, It's still be the upper-class phone from Motorola. I set it the score of 85

  • I got my V60i in November and really like it a lot. It has good battery time and get reception in places my old StarTac never could. The disappointment is in the ringtone composer. It has a good octave range but it can only do 1/4, 1/2 and whole notes. This goes for rests too. The built in tones do better but I can't crack them to find out how it is done. In the meantime the best site I've found for ringtones is www.mrtones.com It will default to Nokia but you can change the phone make at the bottom of the page. Not all tones work well so you may have to do some modifications to rest and note lengths and even then not all sound good. Hey, what do you want for nothing? I have never tried to download tones and I don't know if that's even possible with this phone. Anyway check out the site. At least they give you the push sequence which is more than I can say about a lot of the so-called "free" sites.

  • hey i just got the v60i i cant figure out how to get ring tones i made about 2 or 3 can any 1 please e-mail me a site where i can get some ring tones plez!!!!

  • super

  • great site lots of free ringtones but none for my motorola v60i why???????????????

  • Exelent phone in all aspect i live in Uruguay

  • is not working. does anyone knows other wap sites with games and logos for this phone? Re "Unknown 2002-12-29 00:42:54" -1000!!!

  • great phone for those who are sick of nokias that are becoming too mainstream...using this phone will surely lifts up your image...as this phone really deceives people by it looks...(compared to its price). i recommend this phone to anyone who are looking for a new phone...

  • been using it for few weeks...great phone!!! V60i is undoubtedly and undeniably looks stylish, and very, very expensive... =) i might say it's one of the best looking phone on the upper-class category. just wondering..can you set wallpaper on this phone..? and how? 'cause on the motorola website it says it does has a wallpaper features. as far as i know..this phone only has a screensaver function..not a wallpaper..and also the phonebook for the phone memory..what's the capacity...500 or 1000??? please any V60i user let me know..thx.

  • Got a T-720, but returned it. The V60i is a lot higher quality phone and functions a lot better.

  • Awesome phone!!!!!!!!!

  • Best phone I ever had...Tried Motorola 270c..V60c..T-720..needed too replace my ST7868W which has been a great phone..The V60i blew all the others away...Great reception..sound quality..talk time over 3 hours..easy too use...just an outstanding phone with Verizon service..Best phone investment I've made...Tried the reat found the best...

  • The phone gives a few problems with ths signal

  • Hey to the last guy.... is that site ever going to get any more ringtones besides the 1 it has?

  • It's a great phone! It's very stylish and it's just perfect for people who are image conscious! I like all the features particularly the automatic lock when you turn the phone on, and the application lock. For those of you who are lucky enough to get this phone just like me, can access the WAP site and download ringtones, wallpaper, and screensavers for free.

  • It is not good as the V60. I don't like it. Actually the calculator is not working and It is not easy for setting.

  • hi i have motorola v60i i want to do the ringtones how do ido that please help me thanks

  • This is a great phone. It is very stylish and chic. I do not like the holster that comes with it but you can get quite a few nice ones for less than $15. Great for GIRLS who like to change the faceplates and get new antenneas!

  • An excellent mobile phone. Great features, cool design. Congratulations Motorola!!!!

  • Was wondering if you could tell me how to use the alarm feature on the V60i. I can't seem to locate it. Thanks.

  • The phone is nice,,,"BUT" the plastic holster you get with it is BAD NEWS. The clip sticks out so far that it catches on everything and actually looks like its thw wrong holster for the phone. Prior I had the Motorola STAR TAC, it fit in the holster well and very close to the belt, didnt hang out and catch on everything.

  • This phone is lacking in real useabilities, the software though improved is still very poor for today's standards. It is appealing in that it looks fine and feels solid, but functional aspects of this phone is a let down in my opinion. Reliability is another concern, as when i tried this phone in a shop for 10 minutes, and the machine froze on me twice. Not what i call a "solid performance".

  • Send for me a one V60 or V60i because I like Motorola V60. I have advertisement this production to everybody around me My add: Doan trong Huy 19 Gia Ngu- Hoan kiem - Ha noi - Viet Nam Tel: 84903228508

  • Nice phone..Good job Motorola.

  • motorola,....hmmmmm all the v serıes has the same features......pls try to do more nest tıme....

  • how many characters can you write in a text message? The manuals say 160 but one of my friends who has the v60t can only!! write 63 characters. what about v60i?

  • +style +improved UI over old Motorola phones +easy interchangeble covers -plenty of bugs -- once trying to fwd msg's, phonebook refused to open -- outer LCD displays a garbled checkmark for recent calls list when there is a 'type' icon -- j2me fonts occasionally garbled -- UI display glitches -- some options missing from manual(where did they go ???) -- can't seem to receive nokia pic msg's although it says it does in the product guide(will test further on this)

  • stylish.just moved over from Nokia to a Motorola phone and I must say the UI has improved a lot, but has yet to beat the simplicity of a nokia.it is quite expensive though for a phone with only these amount of features.
