If you feel comfortable rooting your phone then you will be able to upgrade to lollipop. Personally I use CyanogenMod and they have their own app that does the installation for you if you don't understand the process. Slight disclaimer: almost certain warranty is voided.

Using this phone since 3 years. I am a happy user, except the power button. I had to disassemble my phone 2 times to fix the button, first to pour some alcohol, then after 3 months when the defect repeated spray wd-40. Now it works fine. I carry the phone in my trousers' pocket, and Istanbul is a very humid metropole, annual average is 75% relative humidity. I had a similar button issue with my previous Samsung (Wave), the shutter button stopped working after a year, even worse stock camera application didn't allow shooting photos by tapping the screen :( So my next choice will be an IPxx certified Samsung phone to keep dust and humid away from it, the two main factors that kill those mini switches. There comes the problem for me. My next phone can't be a Samsung anymore, because IPxx certified Samsung's don't have FM radio. Though the new Galaxy A series have FM radio, but they are not IP dust-water certified and their battery is not removable. After 3 years I just replaced my phone's battery last week and continue using it. During the next 12 months I shall either wait for an IPxx certified Galaxy with FM radio and removable battery, or go for a Sony Zx series . So this is how Samsung start to loose their market share to Sony.

I bielieve it has 2 microphones. One on the bottom where your mouth is, and one on the top. The one on the top listens to the noise around you and then uses that to filter out the noise coming from the bottom mic. I could be wrong but this is how I think it works. Why would it have 2 mics otherwise?

download CPU Spy to check if phone is going into deep sleep and the percentage of time it goes deep sleep. If deep sleep is minimal (maybe less than 50%) when screen is off then download BetterBatteryStats to identify which app is causing the wakelocks. You can search/download an older version for free. Alternatively unistall or disable your apps one by one and check CPU Spy, this will help identify which app is causing it. Uninstall that app.

My phone got 4.1.2 Jelly Beans, it works nice and I love the new customization they have done. Lot of controls easily accessible -->Battery life got reduced by 15% -->Split screen functionality does not work in GT-i9100G. This is due to hardward compatiablity. -->RAM gets more occupied and reaches close to 610mb and stays there. Compared to ICS which was at 410mb

I experienced a similar problem but what I did was to perform a factory reset and was able to save about 1.4GB after reinstalling all my apps. Manually deleting the apps will not solve the problem. I hope this helps. Cheers! P.S. I'm also from Ghana.

are you asking if your phone is a g version? just go to setting then go to about phone then look for model number. if it says "gt-i9100g, then your phone is g variant.

if xxlsr is having probs pls dun wry .....try other (official firmware) as I know there are xxlsr and xwlsr try these two and see which suits ur phone best....for me xxlsr is perfect no probs so far............p.s dun install cwm........ if wish to downgrade to ics as they is no cwm recovery which is compatible with the latest jelly bean as it is still a new firmware.......care it may seriously damage ur software....

It means you can plug in a USB directly to the phone through an adapter. Yeah, use it just like you would on a computer. Problem is, you won't find the USB on the go adapter easily (if you can find one).

hei just use odin flash firmware xxlsr jelly bean frm galaxys2manual .......im from malaysia trust jb 4.1.2 makes s2g into an s2 without jb.....I played asphalt and nfs most wanted : no lags at all trust me but phone will become hot after awhile......when using jb version xxlsr do not root and install cwm it cause ur phone to restart non stop (bootloop) other than that enjoy ....I neve experienced any lag or hang issues using the jb tis pass one week .....compared to ics

guys just updated my gt i9100g to jelly bean version xxlrs .... its awesome... no bugs so far...plus my phone is now way more powerfull....example i did a nenemark 2 test:when my phone was on ics 4.0.3 it came out 29.6 fps :( but now with jelly bean its 43.2 fps :) awesome right ....i also did quadrant on ics it came out 2806 while on jb it came out 3756 i dont know how but it makes the phone powerfull .... its as powerfull as the original i9100 s 2 without jelly bean.....

People dont you think the Samsung Galaxy S2, S3, & Note(both 1 & 2) have supersaturated display colour displays. White shows up as a different colour. Samsung forces people to see colours differently or is it just me. You can even Google it, it's all over. Cheers!!

Guys I still see people complaining about SGS2 G model. I have been using it for more than one year now, and I can tell you I never faced any problems. Yes, before the ICS update the camera used to freeze at times, but that's all gone with the latest updates. Its an awesome phone with no comparison at all, whether the form factor, camera quality, call quality, screen quality or the networking capabilities. Not even the latest S3 and Galaxy Note are anywhere comparable to this phone as far as the comfort factor and performance factor is concerned. I think Samsung made the biggest mistake of putting all the eggs into one basket. No other phone in the world can still reign supreme for such a long time. Why complain about the Chips inside the G model ? Have u ever compared the chips embedded in a LCD TV or Plasma TV ? Ultimately the performance and durability matters. And the SGS2 G model excels in every kind of stress it is put to. So Be Happy guys and stop complaining...

not a big deal try this.. download galaxy s2 xxlsj firmware threw sammobile.com and after download you need to put your phone in download mode by removing battery, sim , sd card and put battery and press volume down+home+power button at same time your phone ask u something then continue by pressing volume key. now your phone in download mode connect it to your pc and run Odin file (you need to install Samsung drivers for show your phone in Odin) than hit pda and choose code file from zip fole you download from sammobile.com than press phone and choose modem file than press csc and choose csc file (don't touch any other options other than these) and hit start button after Odin shows pass label on upper left corner than remove your device and reboot after setup do a hard reset and your device will ok Enjoy. if any problems comes contact me on [email protected]

3 or 4 salesmen tell me that I9100G is not upgradeable to newer versions of Android, but I9100 can be update. I am not sure about that but if anybody plan to buy one, be sure before you buy if you are interesting in upgrade to ICS, and sorry for my bad English.

JB for sg2g.....will get it usually 6-8 months after sg2 ( Malaysia ). however you can flash JB rom thru clockwork recovery ( pls google ). there are already ready unofficial Roms for sg2g ( check xda ). mine already running 4.2.1

Other than tat, it's a great smartphone... Proud to own it! For those who complaining, buy smartphones from Samsung dealers in future....

Different processr nd chipset. Initially, most people praised the non g version as the g version had slight hanging problems on stock rom due to lack of compression. Infact, both were same in terms of performace.later, on ics the g version is performing alot faster and gives extended battery life. But now the non g version had lot of problems with ics. Moreover, G version is newest. So, if you are concern to buy an s2 MAKE SURE IT IS A G VERSION. I9100g. Alot of non g s2 came back to service centres due to screen failure just after 1 year.

Fix for hangs in bright sunlight! Hello, i was having the annoying problem with freezing touch screen when my phone was in bright sunlight. After 2 months of experiment... I found the solution. I really hope that will work for you guys as well. :) So the only thing i did after installing ALL the custom roms and kernels available i did found the Gold one :P I download the latest Official "Iran" ICS build for i9100g from sammobile. the differences are only the chipset & CPU. I9100 uses samsung exynos chipset while I9100G uses Texas Instruments OMAP4430. In term of performance both are the same.

I bought this phone for my partner about 1 month ago and it boxed seal from O2! I unlock the phone and send it back to Bangladesh, once she received it, the phone start switching off automatically! You were just unlucky with the phone. I have used mine for more than 12 months and the only problem I've had was when I accidentally dropped it and the glass cover got broken. I intend to upgrade to galaxy note II next week and hope it will setve me the way the sII has served me.

I am running Rootbox 2.2 Android version 4.1.1, Harsh kernel, clockwork mod recovery. CPU oc'ed to 1.35Ghz (throttled). I f the stock 4.0.4 update does not show up in Kies, try setting a proxy from a country that does have the update and it should work. Although flashing an official update from a different country will change the regional radio. You will need to flash back to your country or you will have bad reception. To get root and flash CWM and custom recovery. You can download the files from XDA Developers and save to the internal sd card. Then go into the stock recovery and flash the exploited CWM/root zip. You need to have the ICS bootloader before applying new custom roms. The easiest way to confirm is to let kies flash the official ICS update. PS: dont forget your gapps files :) google this stuff its easy ^^/

I got this phone while in Japan. The phone is great running stock, but it gets much better after flashing CWM with a custom rom, kernel and radio. The OLED display looks great. The battery lasts for 2 days with moderate usage. It can out perform the i9100, but the cpu governer needs to be changed to see the increase in performance. The 3G now works, since Tmobile is migrating 3G to 1900Mhz. For all of you having issues with the light sensor, its a bug in the stock kernel. his is easily fixed by flashing a custom kernel and using the stock rom. If you don't know what this means then google it.

I bought Samsung Galaxy S II a few days back. I love the phone, except for one problem. Every now and then I am not able to send messages or make calls, and those who call me say that my phone is switched off even though it isn't. When I restart my phone it becomes normal again and I can recieve and make calls/sms as usual. This keeps happening at least twice a day. Any solution? I have never faced this problem with other handsets.

To set phone language to chinese just choose Settting - Language and Keyboard - Select Language. As for typing in Chinese you can either choose DioPen Chinese by touch & hold on empty SMS Text box on the screen - Input method then choose pinyin. Or using Swype you can simply touch & hold on the language key with a globe & EN in the Swype keyboard then you can set the desire language by tick on the selection, once done you can switch between language by touch the language key eg EN = English, CN = Chinese. Hope this help ;-)

For better battery life : turn on default system power saving. your S2 dual core max will decrease from 1.2Ghz to 1Ghz. Brightness decrease to 10% and UI speed will decrease too... Use task manager to kill unused application for better free RAM available. (around 300 - 400MB free of 687MB )

Good news for s2 G users.. Put same video in an s2 and s3 and see which screen produce bettr clarity and color. S2 clearly wins here.. s3 uses old pentile technology and does not have a plus after amoled. S2 screen resolution is not hd but clearly wins over s3 while playing video.

My S2 before upgrade to ICS : version 2.3.4, RAM available around 550-680MB. touchscreen too sensitive. Battery easily drop. After i upgrade my S2 to ICS 4.0.3 via OTA, RAM available only around 180-300MB. But i get Better scrolling touchscreen, better battery life and my S2 run so fast and smooth. Thanks Samsung.. I love my S2..!! haha...

I have this phone for almost 2 months (first Android phone). I ugraded the softwasre to Android 4.0(free), it has no oprerating issues and is very fast. The touch screen is a bit strange: generally too sensitive and not responsive at some of the feature buttons. The battery life is bad, I have to charge it every day with low to average use with WIFI on at home only. The phone takes beautiful photos. Signal strengh is average only and I am with Optus network. One thing I hate is I can't hang up by just pressing the Home button like a simple phone. I have to touch the screen's Hang up/Off button. Really enoying! But overall I would rate it 4 stars. I hope this will help you make the decision to buy or not to buy this phone.

1.) Check the condition of your battery, make sure it is not bloated. 2.) Check you phone internal memory make sure is not full. My phone had the same problem later found out it was due to the battery, after I replaced the battery problem solved.

Incredible good terminal. Hardware is of the best. Samsung OS bloatware appart, it works quite good. Using Cyanogenmod get's quite better. It is however, quite big and sometimes hard to find the correct pocket; and I am 1.94 meters. Of course, using the full range of options drains battery fast, but that is expected. Using it like a phone, it lasts two working days.

Purchased this phone 2 weeks ago. No such overheating problem as described by some and the battery life is pretty good on the device (average user) daily use (whatsapp, facebook etc connected using 3g and wifi). Performance is great too (average user with couple of games application installed). Would highly recommend this phone.

"..switched back to Gingerbread as the ICS Rom is memory heavy and leaves you with less RAM.." so what do you think will happen if you have less ram? your phone will become slow and laggy? no. that is wrong. i dont want you to mislead other people. its true ICS uses more ram,but this phone provides 1 gig of ram, you have plenty of ram left. android management of ram is very efficient,it uses free unused ram to cache apps so that next time you click on it those apps start faster. android is clever enough to not use all free ram till it reach zero.it will always leave 100-200MB as unused. when needed, android will close certain app in cache according to priority,eg keep the telephony,sms but close the game app in cache. if the phone is sluggish, that is because of bug & bloat ware in samsung stock rom. try use clean android rom such cyanogenmod. u'll be surprised by speed &smoothness. stop counting how much free ram left. android knows what it is doing.

Sorry dude. Have been away from this forum for a while now. If the update is available OTA then just upgrade over the air. If not flash download the G version of ICS from the net and flash via Odin. I did that but have switched back to Gingerbread as the ICS Rom is memory heavy and leaves you with less RAM. I have a S2G version too and it rocks. Forget all the negative comments out there. if using current version 2.3.4 it sometimes hang, then newer version of firmware will make it not to hang anymore, plus few other improvements. to make it simple update means to fix and improve. so just hurry and update the phone. latest firmware available is version 4.x.x already.

At first I was shocked with the bogs of I9100G, almost regretting of my purchase. In fact it turn out to be much less satisfactory than its counterpart I9100 but after changing the firmware and upgrading OS to android 4 it got somehow bearable. I don't understand why there should be so difference between I9100 and I9100G. Now I'm just getting used to it. The back office people say it's rare to happen such cases but in all I recommend not to by I9100G. It has a weaker CPU and GPU and some bugs that isn't eliminated even by upgrading its components.

over the air update or using kies is too slow, always resulting in connection error. the easiest is download the ics firmware from sammobile website and flash with odin. need to register(free) before can download.

why still using gingerbread(2.3.6) ? just upgrade to ics and root using the ics root method.much easier, no flash counter,no yellow triangle. anyway if u still insist using gingerbread here is a link to superatmos, a rooted kernel for gingerbread: superatmos v3.2 and below can flash with odin. one more thing, everything needed is there at xda forum. just search for it.

Hi Amith, You can update to ICS (if you didn't do so already) via Odin. Just download the appropriate ICS firmware for your phone (if its a G download the G firmware or just the plain I9100 then the appropriate firmware for that) flash via Odin and voila! you have ICS. Be careful though. Don't install G firmware on the plain I9100 and vice versa. You will brick your phone! If you don't know how to flash via Odin or are hesitant - my advice, stay away and wait for OTA or Kies upgrade. Hope this helps

The shown RAM indicates the available free memory. Its just a change from initial gingerbread notation where it was xxxMB/1GB where the xxx implies the free RAM as in our ICS case and 1GB is the total memory.

I'm done with i9100 & don't wanna care about the different between i9100 & i9100g anymore. Same with S3. I think it not worth $$$ to upgrade from S2 to S3. Not a big different in term of spec between S2 & S3. The S3 just have 4'8 inch 720p screen & quad core cpu. Not good looking phone like S2. If someone used smartphone for show off, just go & buy it. For me, i'm buying smartphone for self satisfaction. I think, i will have to wait for next year S4. For now i will stick with my S2 i9100g. jellybeans will need quad core like S111, infact next shipment will be jellybeans. No official JB for s2/s2g coz the hardware cannot run with JB (pls read write up on this ). But you can still use Custom Rom to run JB...pls google those guys at xda

Dear Amith, There are different firmware for different countries, naturally the Samsung Gallary guy in India is bound to react in that manner. I suggest you goto Saudi Samsung Site & download the Kies software and try the ICS update of your Phone after connecting it it to your PC, or update your firmware thro OTA (over the air) directly from mobile. It also depends where you have registered your mobile(i.e created the samsung account), whether Saudi or India. Try it & let us know.

PowerVR SGX540 GPU is used in i9100g and mali 400mp4 gpu is used in i9100 former is 2 cores and later is 4 core. May be I dont know much of smartphones but above core figure tells which is better , specially when we are paying same amt of ur valuable money. also cpu is capped at 1 ghz so it never reach 1.2ghz in i9100g. plus I have used both the models for more then 10 days now, and could have tell which is better even if i wasnt aware of above figures. in terms of benchmark, (using antutu) result for I9100g never crossed 5000 and result for i9100 never came down below 5500. I m still not against i9100g, becoz i9100g comes next to i9100. There is no other phone coming in between these two models. Its just like 1st and 2nd position after a benchmark race. But talk is about for which model we are paying.!!!!!!!!

Got this model in BOX of Galaxy S2 i9100 Started Facing issue just after installing few Apps Hangs, Lags and Force Stops etc. Felt like I waste my Rs28,000 on a garbage. Even Ceaper phone dont hang and lag that much. With this phone , I had to take out the Battery to overcome the Hang So I decided to replace this model. And now after 10 days, my phone is replaced( from i9100g to i9100) and using many app now without even a single lag and playing games like Asphalt 6 and Shadow Gun smoothly. My Advise ... U can buy galaxy s2 i9100g .. if you are not a very hardcore user but if u like speed and graphic .. dont waste your money. Price is same and Heating issue is not there in ICS version of model i9100. And overall I9100 is Original S2 , I9100G is just to meet high demand for S2 from customer. Samsung dont have that much processer of I9100 so they are using TI Porcesser which is 2-3 year old and giving that model name as I9100G ( G for Graphics as GPU is different and not Good) If U love Galaxy S2 .. buy original model becoz Galaxy s2 is know for its Speed and performance.

Henova, infact the GPS gets locked within 02 minutes. No problems observed with the ICS update on that issue. You should also understand that you should have access to data network and phone should be exposed to sky for better satellite reception.

Hi everyone I am from India, Updated my SGSII I9100G to ICS 4.0.3 a week back. I must admit, the phone's performance has doubled since then. Antutu Benchmark before showed total score of 2,554 and now it shows 5,463 after upgradation. UI is smooth; running on GO Launcher EX. 90% of apps ran without updation. Camera has so far not "Failed" as it used to before upgradation. The colors in photographs now look natural (no oversaturation).No hanging problems, lesser heating. Lets hope the good times continue...

u can adjust brightness about 50% via manually in setting & DONT set to AUTO.u also need download BATTERY REPAIR on blackmart.make sure battery power left is 1%.run app & connect to charger.dont do anything on ur phone due to app will repair ur cell battery,it take around 3 hours to complete repair.try it to believe it.

Guys please read reviews before upgrading to ICS. I just checked it on my friend's phone. I found it to be really very slow which I would not have liked for a smartphone. I will wait for another update from Samsung. If you need the facelock feature in Gingerbread, try Facelock for apps pro in Google Play. It is a paid app but works really well. The S2 (I9100g) I bought was a real disappointment, hangs and freeze every day while the phone gets hot, battery drops t zero in a half our! Rebooting always hangs on media scanning external SD card. Camera hangs, and after a few incoming calls, it hangs.maybe Samsung didn't iron t bugs when porting from I9100? Now after ICS upgrade, it feels like a real phone...no more freezing or overheating(so far). Have yet to see any other problems in camera, overheating, etc. but after 2 days still very stable. Got my ICS update from M'sia yesterday. Few things - 1. initially, my playstore will not open - keep crashing. I have to uninstall my market and reinstall it. 2. unable to adjust brigthness on notification bar 3. some lag initially - not too sure why. After a few restart, all is stable now. I also cleared up my cache using a cache cleaner from the google play store. 1. no more lag - very smooth experience. Probably slightly faster than 2.3.6 firmware 2. standby battery consumption is phenomenal - this is a marked improvement 3. Google talk now enable you to have video calling! - you can place call to your cellphone from any computer via gmail. Worked well. 4. I am still unable to install Google chrome beta - kept saying insufficient space but all other apps installed okay.

in I9100G the ics implementation does not show the ~340Mb reserved for the os. Hence total ram is still 687+340. This is similar to the Galaxy Nexus which has a 1Gb ram and shows only around 687Mb for availability. Just the way in how the RAM availability is displayed, this ~340Mb is reserved in all ICS devices

I own sgs2 i9100g and i'm from Malaysia. ICS update is officially available for Malaysia right now. Just switch on your wifi and in few minutes later you will get a notification and just follow the steps. It is easy. After the update, all your contacts, apps, galery and etc will still be there. Only your home screen will be reset back to factory setting. Update size is 198MB. So far, my experience are better overall performance, camera seems to capture picture much faster, no error issue in camera, autofocus when record video is much better and overall picture and video quality are much better and colour is much more vivid and nice. So far all my apps (games, etc) are working fine. 3D performance seems to be better when playing games and game load much faster as well. Will post again more of my experience in few days time. So far i'm very satisfied with the update. TQ Samsung.

Just now updated my S2 to ICS. Now i know why allpeople are going for APPLE. Samsung are cheaters. After the update my S2 is worse than an entry level budget phone. It hangs and lags almost every second of operation. Please don't ever update this shit from GINGERBREAD to ICS. I neglected the poor performance feedback from some users and now i am paying for that. To install it, make sure that you have kies installed and that it is completely shut(Log off and log on to be sure). Download the firmware and extract it. Open odin and select the PDA button. Locate the firmware file. Go into download mode and connect your phone. Wait until the ID:Com turns yellow. Press start and enjoy!

Do the following and the problem will be removed - key in the dialer *#7284# - it has 4 option there.. - UART (MODEM/PDA) - USB (MODEM/PDA) For USB. select the PDA. If it already selected to PDA. reselect it by select MODEM and then PDA again.. firstly you have to be carefull while choosing.In my opinion i see that i9100G is better because you will not suffer from the heat problems that i9100 face.Some people say that i9100G chipsets are better than those of i9100.Actually iam using i9100G and it rarely hangs with me only when the battery is low. Also samsung has told me that ics update will be available for i9100G very soon.You have to read all the comparisons and choose Good luck

I am sorry to hear that. Pls take note that Hang/ freeze is Software problem. SW act different for different Model and make. Good example is Nokia N95. Best is to flash again BUT send to Samsung to flash, avoid Kies,OTA or Odin....unless your HP is "ROOT" set.

Hi mine G version also. Gud battery life, no heating up, problems..camera freeze (hard reset) no more freeze. Music Player will freeze randomly using head phones....do not try other players from google play..all will freeze also. install Media Player version 1.1 from samsungapps. NO freeze. basic player but you can install equalizer to improve sound. Other than that..waiting for ICS....

Completely agree that i9100g is good in its own way. Please always think what are the things you can do with this phone rather than what you cannot do. I am using it for almost 6 months and still loving thus phone. If people are facing hang issues, please make sure you do not install apps from other unknown sources. As far as I know it is one step better than i9100. Or may be it makes no difference. I have had hands on both.. Just be happy if you own a G model. :-D

Everone, especially in South Africa, please be VERY afraid buying a S2 because the PC Suite available for sync with your PC, is called "KIES" which is a TOTAL failure. It is HARD to understand how a company like SAMSUNG's Q&A Dept can allow such a POORLY TESTED PROGRAM onto the market to support the "so called TOP OF THE RANGE handset". Our IT Dept spend virtually a day-and-a-half to assist me connecting via cable to sync, WITHOUT SUCCESS. My handset is only a dressed-up doorstopper at this moment-in-time! Even their Service Center admitted to me that they are aware of the problem and cannot offer me "ANY ASSISTANCE" and can they send me a questionaire to complete about my experience! I have galaxy S2 I9100G for past 2 months and it is free from issue, no hang problem, games plays like i am playing in pc. No problem with my galaxy S2 i9100G.

Am really suffering with this I9100G. Just upgraded the software to XWLC2. New probem ... Phone is going to sleep mode if not used for 1 hr approx. Even if call comes it is not waking up. The caller can hear ringing but the phone is not. Once you press the power button it wakes up and starts ringing ... Does anyone know, how to fix this ?

i9100G sucks to the core... i got it replaced twice and the music player in both the handsets had some serious issues. It would skip parts of music and then crash totally. Also, the chipset and the GPU used in i9100G are inferior than those used in i9100 and do you know why it it heats less? Because the speed has been limited to 1008 Mhz. So, by this logic, they should limit the speed to 500 Mhz to resolve the overheating issue completely.

for those who think s2 is better than s2g they are wrong, i personally used both devices, and found that g version is better, less heatup, more gaming experience due to over clocked powervr540, most of people says G version works on 1008 mhz instead of 1200 mhz,they are also wrong, g version goes to full capacity (1200 mhz)when its needed. So people who have g version or just buy it,don't be panic (you have a very nice machine in your hand) :)

Kenny, I done that but still getting the same problem. I'm now using Android 2.3.6 and Baseband version I9100GDZKL3. I'm still having the same camera problem. Now the problem get worst, when i switch on wifi or calculator, the whole phone freezes and need to be restart. Its annoying like hell.

i had the same problem there was a problem eith the upgrate take it back to the support center before that copy all the items from the sd card to phone and then remove the sd card and i think it will be ok try it you dont have enything to lose

all those having the camera hang problem, guys update ur i9100g to the latest firmware of 2.3.6 and that problem is solved....even i had that earlier...now its fixed....xwla2 update.....available on kies and OTA... -from india.

hi guys i could have read all there post prior to buy but my issue whenever i listen the song in the mp3 player the songs give me jurky sound and many times keep on skiping to the other songs with the error file not supported help me guys well i am alos waiting for ICS i thought that might can resolve my issue

GT-I9100LkGINU is G version. on the side of the box, it should say i9100 for the non G version and its product code should be something like GT-I9100LkAINU... also before paying the dealer, tell him to open the box and turn on the handset to be sure its i9100

My Galaxy S2 camera just keep freezes. I have factory reset it 3 times and even sent back to Samsung Malaysia for repair. Still the problem persist. It hangs at the times when u wanna takes picture for that special moment. Very disappointed with my first Android phone. I hope they fix it in ICS updated. Or this will be my last Samsung phone. Will get iphone instead. Any one having the same problem here in Malaysia?

The current Baseband Version of Samsung i9100G in Malaysia is I9100GDZKL3 (Android 2.3.6). Android 4.0 is coming to Malaysia soon. This what Samsung Malaysia replied to my email; "Regarding your query on the release of ICS OS will soon be release. Please bare with us a little longer, as the current status is under monitoring and testing on the new ICS OS. Confirm it will be coming out soon."

hi all,i just bought this i9100G but there some problems,when i take a picture,sometimes the camera got stuck..close with task manager and when restart the camera it said that camera failed.Need to reboot the phone and then it will ok again.Is this familiar situation or this phone is default,so sad =( others is good..please comment

hi there. i have damaged the display sensors of my sgs2 thus the whole panel needs to be replaced. but the prblem is the new screen doest seem to be original as its not giving that rich output. further the camera is also not working. i fear that the camera wont be giving the good results. bytheway ive given the set to carecenter. should i tell them to replace the set as it under full warranty. please suggest. thanx n regards viki

I'm using S2G with GB 2.3.6 and no experience of what people claimed about the G version.It's perfectly fast and responsive for normal use.. the things that separate the Non G and the G version.. 1. Non G uses Samsung Exynos 4210 processor while the G version uses TI Omap 4430 processor 2. Non G version is bit faster (maybe in randering and game) but heat output is more while G version is fast for normal usage and heat output is less.. 3. Non G version receives updates faster and has lots of custom ROM at XDA developers.. ­

i have changed the the kernel and now my cpu is 1200 and my scores in antutu is more than most of i9100 s (6200) but in the nena mark im still 7 fps less than i9100 . But after updating to 2.3.6 i dont have any camera and ... Problems

I have G version and I don't have any such problems mentioned.... I am able to do my regular things like... listening to music, camera, emails, chatting, gaming etc is good on the phone. Probably this phone has been downgraded a lot and i think it is as good as Non-G version. People who are facing problem pls upgrade your firmware to the Latest one which will resolve the issues with camera and Music....
