Before the smartphone generation, this was one of my first phones when I was 10 years old. It may not have the features we have today as well as recording video, using WIFI and Bluetooth for connectivity, but back then, it was the wow factor in my book. My only favorite part of the phone is the built in ringtones....... nothing else, it's those kind of ringtones in an infinite loop that I could dance to all day.

I remember I paid either $29 or $39 for it. I came across someone else who has 1 and she loves her ph too. I had hope until I saw the word discontinued. will have to find similar.

Had this phone since 2005, stopped using it for a while then phones had problems and had to come back to it, other people have used it and the flip hinge is now broken so it flops lol, but its still going strong! antenna broke off though haha. Can't believe how strong it is though! amazing

Hey I had the same problem spent an hour trying to figure out how to open the cover, but couldn't, its on really tight. Anyways i ended up just throwing it on the table, hard but not that hard that you would break it, the screen turned on-relief! Although it turned on, you'll need a new phone, the screen blanks after its been left on for a while. For those that aren't having any luck i've copied down the steps that took in retrieving my contact details-i'm not sure if this actually work but in theory should huh? Steps: 1. Turn phone on 2. Press OK 3. Press "down button(located under the OK button)" once 4. Press OK 5. Press "up button(located above the OK button)" once 6. Press OK 7. Press "down button" five times-NB. Make sure its 5 buttons and not four cause you'll end up deleting all your contact numbers. 8. Press OK 9. Press "up button" 10. Press OK 11. Press "left click (located to the left side of the left arrow button-its the most top/left corner button on the phone)" twice. Hope that works!

This Phone is absolute poo. It cannot live up to todays standards in any way, shape, or form. It is tough and does it's job, but comes with very little features, a poorly lit screen, and a terrible camera. 4 years using this phone is about 3.8 years too much...goodbye Sagem, hello quality.

I've had mine for around 3 years. It has been dropped multiple times, chewed by the dog (has chew marks and the back came off), and it's still going strong. Definitely a tough phone. It would be great for a child, or someone who wants a basic phone, not a pda, mp3 player etc. Very easy to use. The camera on mine is quite reasonable. The only issue I had with it is the ring tones aren't loud enough for me, even on the loudest setting. After all it's been through, everything on it still works. I'm upgrading, but wont get rid of this one as it's so reliable.

At the time that i got it, it was a really good phone. But since then i have been experiencing a few problems with it. When i press the button that usually takes me to the menu, it sometimes doesnt do anything at all, just stays at the jump screen. a bit annoying.

I've had this phone for four and a half years and it's been great, but starting to die now. Okay, it doesn't have any flash features and the camera is not good, but it has the done the job, very durable, funny ringtones. Paid �70 for it. Just got a sony ericsson and realised how much more advanced it is... but loved my little blue flipphone!!

ive got a c5-2v and i got it from a friend who had it 4 2 years n ive now had it 4 another year. and i can say neither of us r very careful. ive dropped it a few times from standing height on2 bitcumin n it just bounced, nothing wrong at all. ive neva had ne probs at all with it. i found it really easy 2 use n the small size is good coz ive got a tiny hand. im upgrading now because its gettin a bit slow n the buttons sumtimes take a bit 2 work, but its served me well

Dont Get This Phone. Simple. Theres a reason its price went from 180 to 150 to 100 to 50 dollars quickly (AUS). The LEDs cease to show some shades, camera scratches, buttons wreck screen, poor battery, not durable at all. It does have a standard set of features (camera, mp3 ringtones,voice recorder) but it is very boring. trust me, dont get it. Unless your a prissy little girl that only carries it in a phone sock all dat. not durable

I left a comment a couple of months ago. I've got the MY C5-2v which doesn't have the external antenna. If you rub the external screen too much the "mirrored" stuff (I think it's just plastic I don't really know what it is) will start to peel away. Your phone will be COVERED in little black squiggles before long and this really makes it appear old, and crappy. Bottom line is, keep it in a protective sock ALL THE TIME! :)

I have the Sagem MY C5-2v, which doesn't have the external antenna. I've had my Sagem since early September 2006. It's a fairly good phone for how much I paid for it when I bought it (AU$129, from a store). Though it's easy to navigate, and the reception when making or taking a phone call is excellent, the camera is definitely below-par compared to other lower-market mobile phones out there. Another thing that really disappointed me was the poor craftmanship of the little mirror around the external screen... it seems to have peeled away or cracked, so now the mirror is covered in little black squiggles and marks - I take good care of my phone, but this seems to have come from general use... bummer! The Sagem MY C4-2v is overall a good basic phone - perfect for first-timers as it's easy to use and covers all simple tasks well. Since September 06 prices have gone down and you can buy one for AU$99 from your local electronics store (Dick Smith, Tandy, Harvey Norman etc)

Great little phone camera was pretty good but the fact that it had no infrared or blue tooth was annoying! One thing I noticed about the sagem phones is that the port for connecting the charger is pretty fragile and breaks easily, it's happened with my last to sagems, they came loose easily

I hade this phone for 1 year and i didnt find it good at all! battrey charge only lasted for 3 hours and i changed the battery 3 times the problem was coming from the mobile! camera stopped working after 8 months. Not a good phone and im sorry to say that.

I liked this phone it was great for me i had this for 2 years, and now the screen is starting to go weird, i open the phone up and the screen is black for a good 20 seconds, the phone has delays like a computer and i have hardly any photos or ringtones on there. The battery power on this phone is very bad as well. I have brought a motorola razr now so my husband has the vodafone and its working fine for him now LOL

It does everything! My daughter has it jumping with animations straight from comp (we bought the usb data cable) and has mp3's as ringtones! The camera is excellent compared with even slightly dearer phones! I think everyone has to agree for the price it is unusual to get so many features.

I was bought this phone last xmas as a gift and I love it. It is perfect for what I need it for and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Would recommend it. The battery is starting die a bit now though, but think I will get a new battery rather than a new phone.

I must say that all Sagems really suck. My first sagem would shut off by itself with a full battery. I decided to go change it for this "nice looking" Sagem, in hope that it would be better, and I realized that Sagems are all the same. The c5-2's battery refuses to charge. It may be the battery OR the charger..but all in all, both are manufactured by Sagem. Same crap.

Overall this phone was ok. However, within a couple of months the the key pads started peeling! My small sister dropped it and it cracked on the inside part of the lid. I did not have a problem with volume, reception or battery and i have been using this phone for over a year.

this phone is indistuctable i've dropped it in da pool 2 times and it still works, but the camera is pretty bad and it is not loud enough. it is also slow to respond which is annoying. i shut the phone quickly once and the screen got badly scratched because it is a cheap tipe of plastic, but overall i give it 6/10

First of all, the camera is located at the back and secondly you can't record videos, you can only record videos on the upgraded version of this phone, the one without the antenna, on that I think it's 10 secondes per recording I think!

You know, it wasn't that bad at all infact I really got good use out of it, it was really good, back then but Fortunately, I altered my ways and fell in love with the Nokia N70 when I first saw it when it was announced. I was all drooly and, and, er, excited!

I've had no mayor problems with this phone. The response time from button press to action is a little slow and the process of saving a photo to memory is a little confusing but other than that it's fine. It's very sturdy, I've dropped it a few times and it has survived. For such a cheap phone it has some nice features. My only real complaint is that the memory is not expandable. My phone has no sticking out antenna as in the photo which makes it more portable AND reception is great regardless.

This phone is crap, I paid $199 about a year or a little more ago and it is just horrible. Sometimes it only sends the last 4 words of a message! and it doesn't save the message properly at all so you either have to give up or type the whole thing again and just hope it works. Also, camera is crap. No way of connecting to anything- no usb, no bluetooth, no infrared- Nothing! And, since i got a vodafone version of it, who apparently constantly have 'no lines available' my boyfriend can call me five times and only get through on the fifth call. Everyother time he gets a message saying 'no lines available'. I hate this phone and I really am starting to dislike vodafone.

the back cover, housing my battery, kept slipping off! :( after about 8 months the phone started corrupting my sms's and automatically hanging up even though i had plenty of credit. it didn't last long. i wouldn't say it's disappointed me, but i wish it could've lasted longer. oh and the camera is a joke... don't buy it because of that. the little stumpy antenna is out-dated now too. you can do better for your money... look elsewhere. good luck!

my sagem was the biggest mistake these r some things that have gone rong and that r crap: its fotos r crap the sound recording is crap the video recording is blurry and the 7 key is starting to stuff up and it only has 24 hourtime not 12 hour time its got some crappy ring tones i have had to buy my own and there is only one shotty game on it it is prob the worst fone i have ever had i recomend that you dont buy it

Sagem is a new entrant into our market (i live in fiji)so it's virtually unknown here but it's quickly gaining popularity.I must say,I'm so glad i never read the opinions posted before i bought the phone coz i most probably wud have bought something else.i've had it for over 2 months now and i'm really glad i bought the phone. i was just looking for a simple convenient phone that wasn't ridiculously expensive. Basically, i wanted something small, light, with a good screen and of course, the main feature which is the basic point of any phone: to make and receive calls!!!Anyway, i think i got more than i expected. The phone has a good screen and good resolution, mp3, camera and video, recording, you can attach pics to contacts, play real tones and attach them to contacts, can store up to 100 messages and a simple, concise menu. i especially love that the phone alarm wakes me up in the morning with Gnarles Barkley's 'Crazy':)i make and get calls with no problems and it's clear.there are still other features i still haven't made use of yet! Basically, i got much more than i expected with this phone. i've read problems people have had with it and i haven't experienced them. i think the camera cud be located at a better plce but no biggie.I am a bit surprised about some of the problems people are having. i'm wondering if i'm not having these problems because i have the new version and everything on it is purely sagem.But anyway,for those of u thinking of buying it, if you want a phone that serves its purpose and not too expensive then this is a good phone.personally, i love the design (i loooove flip Phones!), it's classy so i'm not embarassed to take it out during a business meeting, yet still flashy enough to take out at a party! (u can have different lights flashing during a call or message received, alarm etc.) For that price, it's definitely worth it. But if you're more interested in bluetooth or all those other features then you're better off buying something more expensive. this is a phone for people who want value, convenience, simplicity with class,a touch of fun and a phone that just does what it's supposed to do i.e. communicate! with the bonus of added features like i already mentioned.if any of u have any questions i can try to help but i probably won't be useful to people who have just the MY C5-2. I used to think that Sagem makes great phones, I was so wrong. I own a Sagem My-X7 and I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed by the dull screen and shoddy polyphonic ringtone speaker, totally hate it. Planned to upgrade to a My C5-2, but by the looks of it, the LG KG245 sounds a lot better.

I just bought my Sagem c5-2 earlier today, it works fine and I followed Vodafone's instructions to the letter. The only problem is that the battery life is only 45 minutes! I think we had a loss of power blip, but I was out while it was charging. Now I need a new battery and I can't find one anywhere except on eBay. I'm getting desperate now so I'll try buying it. I doubt it will work.

Hey, I got this phone about 2 months ago for my 16th, it seems ok just the scream has become kinda smudged but like on the inside and it wont send or recieve mms's .. i went and bought the USB cable - it cost me $49 .. and I cant get it to work, when it's plugged in the phone is charge by my PC but I can see it from my PC and I can find no way to access any files or anything on it .. I have this phone and its great, the camera is pretty good, it holds loads of images and videos and messages, i recomend getting it because it is cheap and also its light as, it is fantastic. The screen is a good size too, which is handy the buttons aren't confusing and it has great game!

THIS PHONE IS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! I've had mine for just over three months, and already its has problems. There is a big orange dot in the middle of my screen because the pixels are burning out, a problem that actually GROWS and I cant get it fixed for another week cause they are "too busy". The whole phone freezes up completely and I had to take the battery out every hour or so to make it work. It wont save a single message anymore and the ones it has saved in the pasted I cant get into. ON top of that the guy at the shop said that they probly have to give me a whole new phone and it would actually COST ME to get my memory transferred even though its still under warranty!!!!! If you can help it: DO NOT GET THIS PHONE, cause I have spoken to five other people with this phone and all of them have had at least one of these problems too.

Don't buy this phone, my one had a cancerous pixelation on the main screen that I know is manufacturers fault, and when I took it to vodafone they gave it to a Joe bloggs repairer who said its been dropped and has water damage, so options are to repair at $186 (more than half original price) or pay $100 to get it back in current condition. I know I've never dropped it or exposed it to water ! So its my word against theirs, I think they can't be arsed sending it back to France, how frustrating. Im going back to Nokia which I know are more robust and have better service.

Hey all! I had this fone last year and loved it (just for its looks!) but unfortunately closed a taxi door on it whilst on holidays!!!! :( but now have a nice wee nokia. had my phone for a nearly a year now. I wouldnt buy it again! The battery runs out far too quickly!! (and yes, I did charge it correctly from the beginning) People I text are getting alot of incomplete messages! very annoying ! You cant send any text messages if your "sent" messages are full. So you have to erase what you have written and start again once you clear sent text...grrrr! Ringtones are pathetic, however, I do like the "funky wake up" as my alarm. Its demented and pretty funny. Doesnt hold enough text messages so constantly having to clear old messages so new ones can come through. no blue tooth. Dont go there its not very good.

I bought the phone a month ago. I was mugged yesterday, and told them that the phone was not worth stealing. I was glad when they took it anyway. Every time I went to send an MMS, the text would never send through. I took a photo of a blue shirt, from a metre away. The photo turned out white. The camera is very poor quality. The back of the battery cover comes off very easily, and after the backing has fallen off once, every time a key is pushed down it makes a squeaking noise. The ring volume is crazily low, and for some reason half of the tones you will download will be less than 40% of the volume of the tones that come with the phone. In terms of SMS, I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes you just want a quiet, short message alert, and there is no simple beep you can use. All of the message alerts go for a fairly long time, and are horribly irritating. The "silent" option means that your phone will vibrate loudly every couple of seconds until you open it up and acknowledge the message. It's actually louder than most of the ringtones I used to use. I strongly suggest you avoid this phone, unless you have a secret plan to drive yourself insane through frustration. And an inability to contact people when you need to because of how fast the battery dies.

DON'T BOTHER! It's a promising phone at first, very cute. However, my phone's screen screwed up with a big, orange spot right in the middle. I did not drop it, it wasn't exposed to harsh elements and it is less than a year old. I also know others who have had manufacturing faults. Well my fones broke !! Yesturdau I opend it up to find teh screen just showing clourd lines like saome demonic rainbow !! Its now bleeping to its self. turning it self on and off when it feel like it and flashing teh front LED. It still tels me ive got mesages and missed calls, but as no screen i cant work it !! BUY build quality is not that good. unlike my old 3210. ant least i coudl by accerssories for it. On my sagenm teh flip front is loose and teh case is cracked and that just from beeing in my pocket... Does it only come in BLUE ???? I was thinking of respraying mine. The worst part is all the number that are stored IN THE FONE as teh sim is full. You cab back your sim card up but not the fone.. UNLESS you have a cabelt and software to link it to ur PC. I have had this phone for nearly a year now. I don't think it is the best phone, so I'm going to have to disagree with some of the statements made. Yeah, its good when you first get it but i have discovered a few problems with mine. Disadvatages: the phone battery is really short and my ligh on the keypads isnt working anymore (can't see them at night) and mine doesn't send mms. I wonder if thats because its a different sim card other than vodafone? hmm i dont know. When i was first using this phone I always accidently went into the vodafone live button because it was just the back button on the screen..that was annoying...and it doesnt hold that many messages on the sim card. advantages: Easy to find your way around the phone (after a while its efficient), it flicks different colours when doing different things and you can set certain colours to do watever. It has an alright camera and a 30 second recording thing. You can make your own ringtones on there (which is awesum) and it has loudspeaker and multiple people you can send messages to at once. It also looks great and is a small phone so it fits right into your pocket! Things it doesn't have: blue tooth or mp3 player things. Overall this phone is alright if you don't use it that often. I use mine a heck of a lot, so my keys have actually faded and things like that...but for the money, it is probably worth it.

At first glance it's a cute phone, but after owning it for several months I'm a little disappointed. The photo quality is rather poor, and the colours are very off. All pics that I have taken with this phone have a green tinge, and red blotches on peoples faces. The screen marks easily from the keys, and the body marks easily too. The flip action seems to be becoming loose over time too, and the battery cover has falls off. For some time now the button response has been very slow, which is rather frustrating when composing text messages. The up side is that my son loves the games that are available to download, so when I upgrade I will give him this phone.

At first, this seems like a good phone, however i believe i have sufficient evidence to suggest that all sagem myc5-2's will start to fault after four months. I personally know 6 people who all have this phone, all all of theres have stopped working correctly. SO ALL I CAN SAY IS DONT BUY THIS PHONE. my sagem takes about 10 minutes to turn on, and after i send a txt message i have to wait 10 minutes for the phone to unfreez itself. THIS PHONE IS ALMOST CERTAINLY GUAREENTEED TO STOP WORKING! I would urge everyone when they send there phones back to sagem to obtain a replcment phone after yours stops working to include a comlaint letter. If there is anyone reading this that is intrested in purchasing a sagem then I suggest you look for a different modle from the MYC5-2. For the price it was. its a pretty good phone. although i have dropped it a few times so now i need a new phone which is annoying. i cant get into the menu anymore!! so its very frustrating. and the screen where the time on the front cracked and now has weird colours in it like a leaking pen. so i cannot see the time. but for the time that it worked. it was a good phone .

I have the Sagem Myc5-2v. Which is the Myc5-2 with a Video recorder. It is a great phone to use. I like the Polyphonic ringtones the best. They sound really cool! I like this phone alot. It has got all the good features that exspensive phones have like a camera and video recorder. I bought it for Au $149 on Telstra prepaid plus. You can find some accesorries for this phone in australia.

I have just recieved the Sagem myc5-2v for Christmas(yesterday). Very Nice. All the stuff on the myc5-2 like camera,video,colour LEDs is there but with NO big antennae sticking out the top and instead of blue it's BLACK. It's light& a great shape. Only downer is no Bluetooth /IR to transfer files to a pc tho' I think you can use a usb Sagem Data cable. Well pleased with it anyway:)

I have this phone. the one big thing I hate is not being able to make your own ringtones for it. And the pic editing software isnt that good. Although you will use the brightness and contrast stuff alot. Because the camera has poor quality and is very fuzzy when the image moves. Is slow to focus. ANd cant be used at all in the darkness and low light.

to save your pictures to your computer just do as you would 2 send the pic,choose the pic u want then send by mms press send then press options again, then ABC then write in your email adress then send.that way tou can save to your computer on a disc or print your photos straight away.

this phone is good, although the camera isn't good quality compared to most of the phones out there. i like how you get differnet lights flashing to tell you that you ahve got a message or phone call, when you can't reach your phone. Good voice recordings although its not that long. Other than that its a good stylish little phone.

the pic thing is easy log on to www.kodakgallery.co.uk and set up an account for free and u can send ur pics from phone to them n then save them on ur comp. Ive done it n its all free and a gr8 service but it mite be only for o2.its free to send ur pics 2 coz u send them as email. any probs just let me no but ive done it for myself n my friends n it really is good, esp the quality of pics.

Hey, I finally got my phone back after two weeks! Well, I say that I got "my" phone back, I actually got another replacement phone. So once again I lost all my photos because there is no way of downloading them onto the computer. The new MY C5-2 works fine at the moment but I have noticed that the quality of the camera is quite bad with this one. I will say this again, this is a good phone (I really do like it) it just doesn't last the distance.

just an update from below, i changed the battery with another one and still getting only approx one day and abit.. (30hrs standby) with around 45min to 1hr talk per day.. bought a second battery (non-original) and both performs the same thou i think the non-original one feels last longer.. tips: if u goin to be using the fone for alot like playin games and sms then switch off the keypad light.. or else if u usin it for jus fone calls then there will be no difference in battery life if you got it on or off.. got alot of java games on my fone now.. very hard to find the right games for it(most t610 or t630 will work as well as v220 games) dun buy this game call "juiced" from vodafone site as it dun work. waste of $7 and more for redownloading..

Hey everyone i have had this phone now for about half a year and have had no problems at all. I guess it really depends on how you actually treat the phone, so look after it. One thing bad is that its kinda slow sometimes, but other than that its great!

if your phone stops sending text messages or making calls you make sure that the clip on the sim slot is over the sim card this will prevent it from having a sim problem and this is what happened to me so check it out first before sending it away.......

Well as I posted before my phone is in for repair (here comes the big but) BUT It was supposed to be back today and I've been informed that its now been sent away to Sagem for them to fix (this is not the first time they have done this). So I was told that next week they would know more about whats happening with my phone so in the mean time I'm stuck using my old sony mobile phone. The sony is still working fine after 4 years lol Sagem could learn a few things.

Just got it 2 days ago, the battery drains flat in 24 hrs, only used it for approx 30mins to 45 mins call plus few wap surfin to download the games for it and of cuz playing the game abit to try them. i dun think thats the battery is running efficiently enough. does other users gets around 1 day as well?? the antenna is gastly!!! and when you are surfin, you are on silent, and gets a msg, you still get a loud beep to inform you of the msg?!?! i think of it as a drawback rather than a feature since you want "silent". the keypad locking under security works too perfectly that it wont unlock the keypad as it says press "ok" supposed to?!?! with vodafone version you cant change the skins and i think the normal skins looks much nicer. the vibration is good but "LOUD" you can feel and hear it?!?! the fones rattles loudly when it vibrates so build quality is not good here as well that it creaks alot when you are using the phone or squeeze it lightly. other than these drawbacks, it is quite a good phone, if only... but then its cheap i guess at au$199. for a temporary phone i guess this small phone is quite worth a try. will amuse those ppl who is not as choosy as me.

Just an update, my phone has now been sent away for a second time and I was informed that Vodafone do not offer an upgrade or any other phone as a replacement for this model. All Vodafone offer is the exact same phone. Fair enough I guess. Just an FYI.

hey, I got my C5-2 phone at Easter 2005. I have already had my C5-2(vodafone replaced once because it stopped recieving text messages and also stopped acknowledging calls. It was sent back to manifacturer and they couldn't fix it. I was given a brand new my C5-2 and lost all my photos and contacts. I wish I could say that this new one is brill, but I cant, the key pad has stopped working. This phone is good but will not last long.

Ican't transfer my pictures to my computerI have the transfer lead and a disk but i have not been able to find the MPAS in the WEB PAGEto down load needed support. Where is it. Also I downloaded the planet sagem Page. Bonnie - if i were u, i would have stuck with the GX10. These sagems are dodgy,with a capital D O D G Y. Yeh, thats how dodgy they really are. They sure are dodgy. The outer screens have a tendency to crack easily, the software is not good and its just a piece of light plastic. Save your $200 and put it towards something better.

Like the real tones but some of the ones from Vodaphone live are poor quality...guns n'roses 'sweet child o'mine', cost me $4.50 (australian $) cant even hear it. I want to download real tone maker program and make my own. habbo are shure it supports wav format? if it does thats a bonus cuz' a lot of the real tone maker programs support wav. All in all its not a bad little phone.

The word on this web site is that the phone will not support real or true tones. this is un-correct because i have this phone and i have at least 5 real tones. Real tones come in either .mp3 or .wav format and the phone supports .wav tones. simply go to your phones browser. type in the URL of click on the beta version and type in wav tones and click the links that google finds, the phone also supports .amr tones but they arnt as good as quality as the .wav! so yes the answer is that it can get real or true tones

I've had my Sagem now since Feb, and it's a pretty good phone - until it went buggy :/ Good points is that the battery lasts for ages - vibrate and ringtone volume is quite strong, it's very small and stylish. I've got the Vodafone branded one and even though I've heard plenty of complaints about the menu, it's not too bad once you get used to it. Haven't taken much pictures so don't know what the camera quality is like, but its a great phone if you just want something small that looks cute. Favorite feature: being able to record sounds and use them as my ringtone. Now for the bad bits. The screen is not as bright or sharp compared to my old Sharp GX10 phone that I had before this. There are not as much games out for this phone as there is for Nokia etc, so get used to scanning those ads for ringtones, games, wallpapers etc and not being able to download them! T9 on the Sagem is one of my pet annoyances. Nonsense words seem to have gotten into the master dictionary list, so I am forever cycling through gibberish in order to type what I want. A warning, if you have this phone, don't leave it on 24/7. Apparently they are like computers, and if you don't do a reboot every now and then they will become buggy. My phone has stuffed up now, and if I have someone in my phone book it automatically sets their ringtone to silent. The only way i'm getting calls at the moment is by having removed everyone from my contacts. Really really annoying! Apparently it can be solved by a master reset, but Sagem doesn't have it in their menu. Anyone know how to do a master reset for my phone?

Donna, if you have the Vodafone version, you must use a Vodafone Sim card in it to send/receive mms, or to download things. It is a Vodafone Live phone which means only Vodafone GPRS settings are available. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. PS. This phone is pretty cruddy. Its basically a hunk of plastic with a camera. Just my opinion :)

I have the vodafone version and its great but I cant send and receive photos direct phone to phone they have to be retrieved from the internet. I am using a telstra sim card as there is no vodafone coverage in my area. I have contacted both telstra, vodafone and sagem. Does anyone know if this can be changed and if so how PLEEZ!

I have this phone, and i have downloaded polyphonic ringtones but i was wondering does it do realtone ringtones. I dont want to go on vodaphone live and download one, and then if it doesnt work still have to pay for it. Also again does anyone know of a site i can download a transperent gif image? I want to get rid of my operator logo but i dont want to replace it with one of those logos you can get. I just want my screen clear without the vodaphone logo right in the middle of the screen. It affects the wallpapers, as it covers part of the image. Same with the date display. i dont know how to turn the date display off. Can you do this? Another thing does anyone else find the phones volume when your talking to someone to be very low even when turned up all the way. My hearing is fine so it has nothing to do with that hehe. Even with just traffic noise i cant hear a thing sometimes.

To Trish, I have the solution to ur problem, u r askin how to make ur sms message all capitals, this is wat u have to do: 1. open a new sms message or mms if u want to send one of them with some text in it 2. press the left button to go into message options 3. scroll down to formatting and press ok or left button 4. then press ok or the left select button as upper case should already be the highlighted once that is done, u should be able to send da message with all the text been upper case i have this phone, i think it is great phone, all the right features, nice camera, great tones, i have a site for free ringtones and as i am making my opinion i will give you the site, you can go to www.polyphonicringtonez.com and find the ringtones you want, then go into vodafone live and select go to url and then type in www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap and select polytone by id, enter the id, the tone should come up, after that, u select that and download MIDI tone, its great, i have downloaded maybe 12 tones and well they were all free. anyway, as for trish again, this should work and if it doesnt post another message and i shall find another way

These phones are not locked to the vodafone network so you can put any simcard in them, Optus, Telstra, just not 3.

dd, the phone number for Sagem Aust is 1300789555 . The ladies there will help you out with all the info.It comes with a mini disc for the cable drive. Go to Planet Sagem and download MPAS_7_09 and install it. if you read further down on this post site you will see a few more bits of info I have put in that may help you.Check page 2 as well.The cable cost me $76 dollars , but you won't have trouble with it like you can with a generic cable.

Emily,the phone will download true tones from vodafone live but you have to be sure it will suit your model phone , because there are different versions of true tones..it sounds wierd , but true. My daughter has downloaded tunes without any hassles ,and we also have a data cable so we can upload songs from our computer and download photos from the camera. the cable was purchased from sagem Australia at about $76 , with the cable we can install any song we like onto the phone without having to search every where for it.I also find the camera is in a very comfortable positon at the top of the phone as it is easy to use the shutter while viewing the picture on the screen viewfinder.(you just have to watch that you don't put your finger over the camera lense.)

nice phone.but i do find out after buying the phone that while making/receiving calls the screen go dark why?. Even after taking pictures no way to down on your system(computer) cause the cable connector is not available. nevetheless, the phone is a nice phone am having a nice time with it.

I think this phone is just amazing. I bought it today and i thought it was boring and small. But when I actually used it it was better. This is just a lesson like don't judge a book by it's cover. (In this case mobile phone) I recommend you buy this phone the Sagem My c5-2. It is the BEST!

A freind of mine has bought this phone with a small crack in the screen, however she did not want to return it as she love the phone and it was the last phone that is in the store. Since the screen on the phone has stoped working. There may be a connection with the small crack that was there when she purchased it. both the external and interal screens have now stopped working. Mr Do. Both MY C5-2 phones we have are Vodaphone. The seller of the generic cable told me a similar story, but they gave me my money back when I returned the cable. The official sagem cable was a bit different looking than the generic , but I had no trouble with it..it comes with a mini disc for the cable drive. DON'T delete any MPAS you have downloaded from Planet Sagem as it doesn't seem to come on the disc.I never had any problem with the phone being Vodaphone firmware, just had probs with generic cable.

Thanks for the info nobleknight.. Is yours a vodaphone handset? I'm scared of wasting more money buying the official cable to find that the vodaphone firmware will cause it to not work!! I recevied the following information from the seller of the third party cables: Hi The cable it has been made to work with sagem MYC5-2 phones, software at sagem website it is compatible with original sagem firmware (it is the software installed in the phone handset) if your phone is a vodafone live handset it is not compatible with the software at sagem website that is why vodafone selling the handset without the CD software cause every sagem phone come with CD software that is why we sell the cable without software cause it is illegal to give copies, we supplied the websites they sell software compatible with the cable under our description include the sagem website which is the original software, that is why every vodafone handset need to find the right software to communicate with the firmware installed in the handset, till now we sold 100 cables no one had problems. !!! Again i have to stress how absolutely annoyed i am with this vodaphone modified version of this phone as you can tell from my previous posts in this regard. I WANT THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE!!! Vodaphone say i have to speak to sagem, sagem then say they cant as vodaphone makes them put that firmware on it. As for Jadie, you need to call up the vodaphone help line and talk to them about it. They enable/disable voicemail. PLUS if someone leaves a message i'm sure you pay for them leaving it as well as when you do 121 to listen to it. So make sure you have credit.. It should be on by default but. I thought mine was off.. only to find my x girlfriend accidently dialled my phone from spain when she was drunk and left this huge message of her pocket as she walked around. I listened to some of it before my credit was all used up from the whole thing. But basically your problem will only be solved from calling up vodaphone..

Sorry Mr Do.. I did buy a generic cable through E-Bay and got the same message as you did. I ended up sending the cable back and buying an authentic cable from Sagem and it was ok... I also downloaded MPAS 7.05 from Planet Sagem and it all works fine.the Photo transfers also work a treat.

to Mr Do. I use a program called Cool Edit Pro to do my conversion. But if you don't have and audio edit program , try using windows sound recorder to convert your Wav file to 8,000kHz , 8 bit Mono , 7 kb/sec format. by chosing SAVE AS and using the convert choice there.The MY C5-2 will only download about 200kb per song , so choose where you start and stop wisely.when you tranfer the song to the phone it will take a few seconds to finish, it then will play the tune and you get the choice to save it to the phone and use it straight away or just store it.

To person below NO IT DOESNT SUPPORT MP3s!! To the person who was downloading real tones that were in wav format.. where did you get them from?!! I have had ZERO luck getting real tones working. Just wasted money. And now i've wasted more money on a data cable that doesnt work. To the person who bought the data cable. I got a data cable for this phone to do the 'wav' file thing but it doesnt work. when i connect the data cable i get the following message: 'Connected device is not a compatible mobile phone' Are you using the mpas tool from planetsagem? Is your 'my pictures and sounds' program version 7.09??? So annoyed with this phone.. arrhhh been nothing but pain!! I've always gone nokia in the past. Bought this phone a couple of weeks ago from Vodaphone Aust. Not being terribly clever with these things I need help to get my voicemail to work. My message is recorded and the mailbox number is set to 121, but when I go to call divert when busy (or any other choice) I get a Rejected! message. What am I doing wrong please. My wife and daughter both own a Sagem MY C5-2.I purchased a data cable from Sagem Australiasia and I have been able to upload compressed wavs to the phone and they sound exactly like truetones (just not in the MP3 format) I had to modify the songs a bit to set the right format for the phone , but the help file that is on the mini disc had enough info on it to set me up without a problem. The data cable also allows me to upload and download photos to and from P.C to Phone

Whoops, my mistake. This phone dosen't support mp3, BUT it does support .WAV and .AMR tones, which are REALTONES. I have quite a few of them on my phone.

It is possible to change the wap and mms settings of your mobile phone and replace Vodafone Live by another network provider, but it is not possible to change the main menu of the phone. This means that if you use a sim card of another network provider you will still have the icons and the main menu of Vodafone. I have to say that this phone is great. The only bad thing is that the main screen gets scratched easily with funny shapes! The good thing is that the SE T610 games work on this phone 100%! Overall: This fone deserves 9/10, why, because it is a great phone and I do believe that you have read the specificayions carefully plus I own one of these My C5-2. It is a handy phone and I don't see any reason whatsoever to say that this phone is a useless phone I mean think about the person who created it, what will the creator think? It is a very good phone!

Final comment about this phone: IT DOES NOT SUPPORT MP3s, True tones etc.. It supports polyphonic (64channels).. And it supports recording via the handset.. I Repeat.. it does NOT support mp3s so you wont be able to play real tones/true tones etc.. Check the compatibilty at this site: My apologies to vodafone.. I did accuse their firmware of being the cause of not being able to play real tones. That is incorrect. This phone does NOT support it. The link i gave from the vodafone site.. well prob best it didnt work.. go have a look around the vodafone site yourself.. you will see the lack of info.. :D thats it! no more from me!! To the dude posting below.. I bought this phone I went here: I thought awesome and purchased a real tone from that site via sms. Ok I then got a sms with a wap link to get the real tone. So I go to that link. I then choose option and save content and i got a message: incompatible format. Same if i click on it. So no you wont be able to get real tones from web sites.. If anyone can prove otherwise PLEASE post.. as maybe there is some firmware fix for it that nobody knows about.. like the post down a bit from the guy from vodafone stating you have to send your phone back to the manufacturer to get games!! I mean hello that alone speaks volumes!! And for that matter, has anyone tried it?? That is sending it back to the manufacturer?? If so, can you get real tones?? Now as for downloading ringtones via Vodafone live.. i assume their version of real tones is "real music" which is another annoying thing.. they use their own terminology so you really dont know what is what.. its so wrong.. anway.. i would assume 'real music' is real tones ..which isnt compatible on the myc5-2.. see a pic i took of the handset message here: Then notice in that pic how it tells you to go to vodafone website to see compatibility.. WELL at the website they only list polyphonic and of course sagem myc5-2 isnt even listed. See it for yourself: So honestly.. i really like this phone.. but i really really dont like vodafone.. And well the vodafone website is way out of date.. it doesnt explain what the different ring tones are.. they dont use the standard ringtone naming conventions that all ring tone sites use.. there is no mention of myc5-2 and basically its all smoke and mirrors.. Personally i think its like this just so you dont know that the real tones etc wont work.. as you go to vodafone.. its not listed at all.. so you'll go elsewhere on the net and find yeah sure the myc5-2 supports real tones so then like me you buy the phone.. only when you go to do it.. you'll find no it doesnt :( The only reason i havent just turfed this phone is that you can record your own stuff and use it as a ringtone.. Thankgod!! My last phone was ok and i only got this one as i wanted real tones.. the tone websites say this phone is compatible.. previous posts agree with that.. BUT for whatever the reason, vodafone have killed it on thier version of this phone.... And if anyone can prove otherwise.. please do.. I really want real tones! Personally i think vodafone should give people the choice of firmware.. either vodafone modified or the original sagem firmware.. after all you are buying a Sagem myc5-2.. the vodafone firmware basically means you ARENT buying a myc5-2 as it HAS been modified.... Anyway.. thats more than 2 cents worth.. but someone has to tell people these issues.. vodafone certainly wont.. and the fact their staff are coming on here saying stuff and NOT addressing these issues is wrong.. Go to vodafone website.. look for info about ringtones and this phone.. note the lack of info.. know that they dont care... know that if you do buy it that while everyone with non vodafone versions of this phone are loving their real-tones ringtones.. sadly you will not be able to.... even though the ringtone sites say you can... enjoy wasting your money trying to get one.. enjoy the lack of care from anyone about this issue. I emailed sagem trying to get an orginal version of the firmware for this phone. And i asked about the real tones.. this was the response: [begin quote] The Vodafone network have asked SAGEM to manufacture products equipped with the Vodafone live ! software instead of the neutral software that can be seen on some of our other models. It is therefore not possible to modify the software in order to have a neutral software. For the downloading you have to contact Vodafone and ask why ist's not compatible, otherwise they could maybe give you the adresse of a website which is compatible with your myC5-2. [end quote] So yeah.. for 229 bucks its a throw away phone for me.. i just got it to tide me over before i buy a good 1000 buck job.. But i sure as hell wont be getting one from vodafone.. I've never had a mobile phone that has had its firmware modified before.. I dont like it.. especially in this case.. it actually removes functionality rather than enhance it... If i can get my hands on the original sagem myc5-2 firmware i'll be cheering!! Hi! I am seriously considering buying this phone; it looks great and has all the features i am looking for, and is a great price ($229 at vodafone). I've been doing my research, and i've read alot of comments saying that you cannot download realtones or games etc and vodafone live is really terrible. Is this happening with all vod. live users? I want a phone that can have realtones on it, but if this one can't, i dont think ill buy it. Also, is it very fragile and easily damaaged? And is the camera quality low? And this gets me too.. the only reason i would want vodafone live is to download real tones.. but seeing as that has been killed on this phone by vodafone.. whats the point?! hello i have purcahsed this phone and i work at vodafone and there is no problems with it. the reason it does not download games is because it needs to be sent away for a upgrade as when it was made the manufactures stuffed it up not vodafone. as for the insurance you can get insutrance on this phone however it it probabaly not the best option as there is a $125 excess and it cost 6.31 a month. also you need to be on a plan to claim insurance. thanks guys

hello! I got this phone like 3 weeks ago an its really good! All my friends seem to like it aswell! It's really easy to control thingy and like its really cute! The only thing i wish it could do was change to like a different colour case! oh yer an it scratches easily. and yu probly will need small fingers or nails to press the buttons. it is the kewlestfone omg it is so awesome you should totaly get it!

I bought this pone yesterday from Vodafone in Aus after accidentally damaging my much loved Nokia 8310 beyond repair. I went to transfer the insurance for my phone over to the new Segem handset and was told that Vodafone do not insure it either because it is likely to be stolen or not well made and easily damaged. I love the phone its cute and has great functions but I'm a little concerned with the fact they will not insure it. Has anyone else had this problem?

If I "found" one of these phones - the Vodaphone version, can I get a Vodafone account, or will they check the phone?

Ok.. Some issues with the Australian Vodafone live version of this phone! If anyone can confirm or expand further on my findings, please post it :D If you are thinking of getting this phone, I would get a NON VODAFONE version!! They have modified the firmware of this phone and dont give you any option to remove it :( Australian Vodafone live Version Sagem My C5-2: Problem 1: You cant change skins. You will be stuck with the red buttons and even worse, the main screen right hand button will always go to vodafone live :( There is no way to change this so far. Vodafone have ripped the menu allowing you to change it. Problem 2: Ok, this is big for me.. Real Sounds.. Everywhere says its compatible. And apparently it is. However, vodafone say its not. Go to vodafone live and yeah, NOT COMPATIBLE.. I went to a site on the net, chose the my c5-2 compatible ring tones which basically is all of them, real sounds and real tones etc.. Then did the $5 download a SMS ring tone bit. I get a sms which you then use to connect via wap or whatever its called to download the real sound tone.. So you do that, get charged $5.. then you go to download it.. and it says 'incompatible format' or similar.. I didnt try calling the 1900 number or whatever.. i dont want to waste another 5 or so bucks for nothing.. Ok, so my conclusion is that the Sagem My C5-2 phone is great but from my investigation so far, i'd have to say that the modifications made by vodafone have broken some key stuff with the browser! Can anyone out there with a non-vodafone version confirm you can recieve and play real sounds??!!! Final say.. The woman at vodafone was so lovely when i purchased this phone.. I was suprised it wasnt sim-locked.. Now i know why.. its WORSE than sim-locked.. hey i can deal with sticking with a carrier for 6 months.. But i cant deal with the fact vodafone have messed with this phone badly and give you no option for it to be undone!! So.. Feedback is good.. i'd love to hear from ppl without this vodafone firmware.. that just have pure sagem firmware.. can you download real sounds etc?????? If anyone has a copy of the original sagem firmware please email me :D

Yesterday i bought my sagem my c5-2 phone from a vodafone store and my simcard is a optus prepaid and i called the optus customer service line to activate my MMS and they didnt have the phone so therefore couldnt help me...can any1 help me and tell me how to set it up on my phone? *confused* arhhhh plz someone!!!!!!!!!!

To add a contact: Turn mobile on :D Press UP on the pad This will bring up contacts then choose OPTIONS by pressing the / button (top left button) Navigate down the list to: Add phone contact Then press OK (this will add contact to phone memory- and allow display pic) OR you can choose: Add sim contact Then press OK (this will add contact to sim memory but doesnt seem to support picture etc?!).. It asks for the lastname which for a sim contact seems to be the only name. When you add a phone contact it asks for last name then phone number but then after that you can add first name, picture, sound.. blah..

To add photos, different tones etc to a contact.. they have to be a PHONE contact.. not a SIM contact.. at least thats what i've found ;) I got vodophone version here in aus and it seems to have the skins menu hidden or maybe removed.. so stuck with the red icons.. Anyone know how to change it or get access to skins menu?!

For the person asking where to get the computer interface software, you get it from: You have to register to get it.. and you have to give the imei number.. *#06# didnt work for me.. if you suffer same, the imei number is on white sticker on the phone under the battery.. :D

Hey guys! I bought this phone a few weeks ago and I reckon dat it's gr8! I read the other opinion things on how to use the caller id, only when I go into my Contacts and Options, I don't get anything saying "Add Photo" can someone help? Oh, and also, how many games is it supposed to come with? Cos on the specifications page, it has Siberian Strike and Gulo's Tale but mine didn't have the second one...please help me!!!

To Kaz To put someone as caller id with a photo... Go into your phone book and select the person, in options you can see every detail that you have listed about that person, Like name, adress, phone number and there should be a option saying Add Photo.

What can I say, it is small, cute, stylish, cheap and has all you need if you wanna text chat (talk) and has the coolest wallpapers and sounds. I love it sooooooo much, I know 6 people with the phone that I recommened it to and they all love it. People always say how small and stylish it is, even though it's cheap and cheap to run!!!! I just bought this phone yesterday! I love it! it's got everything you need except the kitchen sink! the camera is on the back of the phone it's about 1cm wide and 9mm high! its a tiny camera! I recommend this phone for price value and style!

I bought a MyC5-2 about a month ago, from Vodafone. The only reason I don't really like it is because there is absolutely no inbuilt connection to a computer. Not that you'd really want to print the very low res photos anyway. But I've also heard even if you do buy a link cable for $50 from a Vodafone shop, you still can't download games with it. That leaves you with the only option to download them over gprs, which is insanely expensive (~$1.20 per game assuming you already have the file). Go with something that has better connectivity. I comes with a handsfree kit, it doesn't do video, mp3 or radio. And even though it's not sim locked you do get spammed with vodafone messages.

I have just purchased this phone and i think it is the best phone around for its price. it has a VGA camera, 64 polyphonic ringtones, colour screen and the list goes on. To Elissa, Sagem have an authorised service repair centre in Melbourne and have their customer service dept. in Sydney whom we deal with. Anything under its standard 12 mth warranty is covered and should be no issues. saying that, we have personally sold 100's of these units and have only had one returned which was replaced by Sagem within two weeks.

MAIN MAN!!! I checked where you told me to go for skins. And all that is in my display menu is Wallpaper, Screensaver, Backlight and Contrast. In what country did you buy yours. Maybe they have different features for the phone in your country. Even though it shouldnt.

Both, Optus account sim card and Optus Boost Pre-paid sim card are fully compatible. All my Vodaphone retailer had to do was make one phone call to Sagem to solve the problem. I did all the work and bought two phones from a different retailer, Tandy. leejen666AThotmail.com

I purchased the phone on March 16, So far I am really liking it but I agree with most of the comments about the camera, the location isnt good, but considering the cost I think its worth it, plus this is the first time Ive had my own camera mobile. I think it needs to be handled carefully however because if its dropped or something its likely to break or crack in the front. Anyway love the phone!

i have the phone, and also im a vodaphone salesperson. i can vouch for the phone personally, although the camera isnt as good quality as you would get with a more expensive phone, the ringtone (real tones), setup and ease of use make it a great phone. for the price i think it is great. i have the vodafone live version and im real happy with it.

I bought this phone yesterday in Australia for $199. It is the vodaphone pre-paid live version, but i am using my optus contracted sim card at the moment, until i do change to Pre-paid soon. I obviously cant comment that much as i haven't had it for long, but so far I AM LOVING IT! I love that you can record voice, music whatever, then make it your ringtone. The left hand side buttons, tend to squeak a bit, which is only slightly annoying. For me it was a fun phone, cause i LOVE the look of it! It's gorgeous!

Hi everyone - WHERE CAN I FIND GAMES TO DOWNLOAD FOR THIS PHONE??? ANY HELP? Regarding the phone - I bought it 2 weeks ago as an upgrade from O2 - only �30.Unlike what someone said The operator logo CAN BE removed from the screen - it has an option to do that. So what do i make of it: I think its a great little phone. Pros: Great look and feel Nice screen and colours Great simple menus Good reception Has nice organiser (with voice added - which i like) Has nice 2 preloaded games Very light and user friendly to type. Cons: Where do I find more games to download?? Camera is nothing special and its in a wrong place so ur finger will tend to block it -keep that in mind Slightly squeeky plastic on the back Biggest Cons are : No chance to play with screen brightness - it has only contrast adjustment but its not the same thing. Only 3 skins - thats a big deal since u cant download any skins and skins here are generally dark - which would have been OK if u had a Brightness adjustment - SAGEM what were u thinking of?? Anyway for its price and despite few Cons its a decent phone to have. As I said like the look and feel and simple concise menus.

What a great little phone - luv the features and the colour. Only problem I've found is that it was sold to me as a triband phone, but I've since been told it's duoband. MMMMM! Still, I think it's so cute that I'll probably keep it.

A good phone but.... I am dissapointed by the brightness of the screen,I find the MYV-55 has a better screen both for size and brightness. I also noticed that the back cover has a tendency to "slip off" it appears not to lock in sometimes. Other than tht its a good "budget" handset with all the features of the MYV-55 minus the IRDA.

Hi everybody, If you're looking at the opinions of this phone because your thinking of buying one. I say: buy it. I got it yesterday, and I think it is great. I previously owned a Sagem MyV-55 and this one is just a little bit better. The weight of it is really good, very light and my friends couldn't get over the size of it. I don't reckon its that small. But anyway, camera is great, lots of great tones, If i had the money, I would buy everyone in the world, one of these phones.

I got this phone just after christmas and would recomend it to anyone. The pictures are high quality and easy to take. Its great for first time buyers. Its easy to use and the o2 network is good as well.

Had the phone for 4 weeks brilliant functions but pressure (not rough user)on case by wundow may cause damage to outer LCD be careful as it's not covered by warranty (Repair �58). Anyone with similar problem.

great phone but it has a few minor points in my opinion. first of all the operator logo cant be removed which is really annoyin when uput a pic as wallpaper. another one of those minor points is the lack of infrared on this phone. and also sometimes when u wanna take a picture of a shiny surface then the secondary screen is visable on your pics(reflected). but further i cant say anything bad about this phone. it looks good, feels good, takes good pictures for a cameraphone and has cool features. price is also acceptable. bought it for 169 euro. very recommendable phone for everyone.
