Samsung M110 - User Reviews

  • My first phone ever...

  • Best phone ever! Indistructible and low SAR.

  • A lot of glitches is seen in this phone, such as difficulty in connecting via blue tooth; when reading SMS, when reading a particular message, the view immediately skips to the next message; the phone frequently freezes and restarts; address book skips; when selecting a particular contact, it points to the adjacent one. Regrettably, the worst phone i owned.

  • if you go into message settings and text message setting you will see blocked number, i bet your 4 text senders will be in there just take them out of there and it will be fine from now on

  • Yesterday my M110 suddenly stopped receiving text messages. I know of 4 that people have sent but I haven't received. My own text messages are sent and received OK, but I can't work out why I'm not getting them from anybody else. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a way of solving it?

  • What is the OS of Samsung M110

  • I had put a password but I forget it how can I solve this problem?

  • So, I've been using this phone for a while now and I have come to a really, REALLY big problem. For no reason the SMS texting turned into predict text. I have searched all problems and reviews for a solution, but I can't find any solution. If anyone can help me please reply. :)

  • Oh my god, what is that?

  • definitely not as good as Nokia, but it's swings and roundabouts. Nokia just don't make their phones tough enough.. Most tradesmen don't need all the toys that other phones have, BUT a loud ringtone is essential, as most trades involve some noise. Maybe trades in Korea are all carried out in total silence by people with girly little fingers ? This phone is ok, but not as good as I'd hoped, but what else is there for under £50.00?

  • I could put up with taking 3 seconds to unlock 6 if you press something while taking it out of your pocket, having a non intuitive interface etc. cos it is tough and basic but when I pulled it out of my pocket and the screen was cracked what seemed a good value tough phone now seems a waste of money

  • Had this phone for 2 months and i must have dropped it hundreds of times amongst other things. It has stood up to abuse that no other phone has in the past. My ringtone volume is just fine! No different to any other phone i have previously owned. Samsung Solid for life. Cheers

  • sorry to say but thats wrong, the jcb phone is not as durable as this, i had a jcb phone and within 2 weeks it was unusable because of a cracked screen. this was done by dropping it... perthetic!! had this phone now for 9 months and love it!!

  • got this phone for 6 months now,and im very happy with it.its very strong,it fell different times but no damage at all...minor points are not so loud ringtone, and 2mb memory is too limited.you cannot even put 1 mp3 on it!its only good to take about 20 pictures and memory is full...and its also a bit slow in use.but al in all a great cheap phone

  • is it bomb proof???

  • Only problem is I carry my phone in my pocket , my old Nokia you set it to outdoors and you could still hear it over the saws and grinders, the only way with this is to rely on the vibrate mode.

  • Very ordinary, Ring tone to quiet, calculator too hard to opperate. They should ask real tradies when they design a "tradie phone". I need a LOUD ring . an easy to use calculator, be able to send photos without a PHD .Not real happy with this phone . Is the b2700 any better?

  • the ring tone comes from the speaker grill below the camera lens at the back of the phone, place the m11o screenside down and you get a loud ring tone.

  • Brand new, got it home, some kind of fault where speaker makes a cliking noise when trying to sample sound settings. All other sounds work. Brought to replace my 3rd broken Nokia which I liked but couldnt handle my working conditions. As above, if you used a Nokia, dont buy this. Basic navagation of phone is far from basic/easy. Great idea, "tough phone". But needs to be from Nokia.

  • Great phone BUT the ring tone is way to quiet for a trady phone I have trouble hearing it ring it seems very quiet even though I have it turned up as loud as possible. Does anyone have a remedy for this ?

  • Just received this handset this morning for work use. Can't get over how light it is. Seems solid enough, will see how it is after 12 months rolling across the dash of my van.

  • Had this phone about 7 months now and its still going strong as ever. And its been submurged in a sink, in a shower, dropped thousands of times, throw at walls etc....Highly recommended phone , cant wait for the B2700.

  • Have been given a new SGH-M110 and will be interested to see if it will stand up to Agricultural/Forestry use like the Nokia 6250 did including being inside a coat pocket with sawdust and rainwater. (Nokia lasted six years of hard use before the On/Off switch broke) This fone has SMALL buttons for people with large hands!! Sensible comments welcome!

  • Is Rs 2500 price u have quoted is in Indian Market for Brand new samsung M110 or used ones Do reply

  • Sending a msg to someone right next to you and receiving it hours later is to do with the network, not the phone.

  • no frills,no drama,no glitter just tough and practical that's the samsung m110.green and bear it!

  • I have seeen this and it does the same job as the Mototola W180, but the Motorola is much cheaper, has a better battery life and looks better

  • This has to be one of the worst phones ever built - with the exception of the early 3mobile efforts. Tough, yes, but do I care when i want to run it over with a dumper myself?! It is impossible to use, extremely slow and clumpsy and has a tendency to reset itself to default even when you change the settings, for anyone that is used to working with a Nokia, don't buy this phone, it is like it has been built for a 5 year old. Everything is convoluted and there is no quick or easy way to do anything. Samsung seem to be about 5 years behind everyone else in terms of speed or ease of use. What can I say, this is a horrible, horrible piece of technology, I hope they go back to the drawing board and start from scratch!

  • strong-yes simple-yes but the absolute worst phone i have ever owned!!!!! from new the keys were faulty. Phone would randomlly turn off. Every time i created a new txt it would switch predictive txt off. Even if i was sent a txt from someone sitting rite next to me i would recieve them 3-4 hours later. Have gone back to nokia and have no problems. sorry SAMSUNG!

  • You can set it to "offline mode" and you'll be unreachable as if you switched the phone off. When screen goes out the phone uses as much battery as when shut off and all reminders alarms etc. still work. As for my experience with the phone; I think It's not that tough at all. I've put it under shower for a second wiped it out and after some time the upper edge of screen got foggy from the inside. Seems like some water got in through the speaker opening. After one month the phone still works, so no harm was done. Otherwise the phone is "spartan" - has only necessary features which I don't mind at all. However I would like more flexibility - browsing phone book by groups, using custom pictures for contacts (not only presets or those taken with camera) etc... One thing that still annoys me is that when you select the contact to call you must select which number to dial (gsm, office, home) even when contact has only one number listed.

  • its 99.9% indstructble

  • can someone please tell me if this phone can receive business cards?

  • the mbile phone is verry strong

  • Finally Samsung almost got it right. This is phone that is meant to be used as a phone. Not a Megapixel camera, not a games console and not a personal media player. You can call people and hear them. You can send and recieve text messages. It works with bluetooth hands free. Its also rugged. Its for people who actually work for a living instead of sitting in an office all day clicking refresh on your myfacebookspace page. If you want a phone to make phone calls and takes a beating buy this. Otherwise buy the latest Nokia Uber-Mega-Shiney-Something, you know it makes you look cool. Right?

  • can you make it vibrate and ring at the same time for incoming calls

  • it is

  • The alarm will not rings out when I switch-off the phone. Can anybody tell me the solution? (For all major type of phone, alarms will ring out even though you switch-off the phone set.)

  • Is it possible to make this phone on absolute quite mode (no vibration and sound at the sam time)? Thanks.

  • wrong picture od samsung m110! this is not samsung m110

  • this phone is for us workers hard workers. workers like us dont need video. good hard phone.

  • ofc it is

  • Does anyone know if this phone is compatible with a Parrot CK1300 hands-free device?

  • you find fm in "applications" and you turn on the flashlight by long pressing the "c" key

  • Could some one please tell me how to turn on the flash light in this phone. Thanks in advance.

  • User interface definately not the greatest. A little primitive at this day of age. but, interms of durability for that price, it's hard to beat. definately one of the toughest phones i've used based on past experiences with the wonderful Ericsson R310, excellent Nokia 6250. Am waiting for the new Samsung GT2700 now

  • where i fine fm.in m110 sumsung

  • I suggest to avoid this phone. I bought it, tried it and returned it after 24 hours. Menu-system was ugly, inconvenient and with several errors. No working PC support - no usb-drivers available and Samsung's program PC Studio aslo did not recognise bluetooth. Only good but at the same time annoing thing about Samsung M110 is that if you smash it against the wall it will stay in one piece. So I changed to Siemens ME75 and everything works just perfectly.

  • Wow. Great phone. Great feel& design. Easy to use. Save your self all the fuss of try finding the right make/ model and buy this! O2 shop GBP 39.99. All the basic features& more. Easy games downloading. Long battery. Oh yes:)(:

  • Brilliant phone perfect if you wont a nice robust phone that does what it is supposed to!

  • Well I don't think that there is doubt as to which is tougher. The Sonim XP1 has proven to withstand the harshest conditions, even being run over by a car and stepped on by an elephant...

  • To JC We have the same concern and I also have this phone. I found out that the phone can only receive pix from "no-mega pixel" cameras because of the low memory of M110 (only 2MB I think). This phone can only receive pix in KB file sizes.

  • Hi there can someone plllllllease help with my query??!!

  • so much talk about nokia's 5140... in the begining there was SIEMENS M35. then came the M40, M45 and so on right up to the M75. if anyone will bother to take a glance at the latter, they will see a remarcable resemblence. first and foremost, the "M" indicative was siemen's (and now benq's) indicative for rugged, outdoor phones. from what i see here, i would have to say that this samsung model based on the M75. i agree, it seems to have improved a great deal the M75 characteristics, but it has certainly nothing to do with nokia's 5140. btw, the M75 was tested in the amazon rain forest and worked just fine in spite of the temperatures and high (85%) humidity. it even got segnal where sattelite phones were dead. my point is: stop comparing this phone to the 5140, the're completely different. if this one has all the strenghts of the M75 (and very few weaknesses I hope), it promises to be a great one.

  • 36.64 on tesco direct including 20 airtime

  • Hi there, whta seems to be the problem with sending photos via bluetooth? It only seems to send / receive photos from no mega pixel camera's!

  • Nope, the phone does not have metal body.

  • Hey does this phone have a metal body or not? Answers please.. thanks!

  • If any of your buttons came off you should of got it replaced under the 2 year warrenty.

  • I just got this phone a few hours ago from a Samsung authorized dealer. The activate/deactivate speakerphone key already came off after a few text msgs. I returned the phone to the dealer but they did not replace the keypads. Accdg to them, the keypads are not part of the warranty and if I wanted to change the keypads, I need to pay an additional USD20. This is not a good customer orientation in part of Samsung. Please do not buy this phone. It is not as rugged as Nokia's 5140.

  • To Matt, O2 are selling this phone for 49.99 on pay and go.

  • message for clif or foe n e one else that got this phone for 59 plz tell me where from im a tyre fitter and are always breaking them so plz help me

  • To isaac This phone was made for people like my dad. He is a man of trade (a plumber). People like this cannot keep a good phone nice. For people like builders, plumbers and outdoors people this is the best phone on the market. If you want good cameras, sound quality and pic density buy a sony!

  • can this connect to a PC via data cable?

  • can someone tell me how to use FM in this phone???? pleeeeeease....thx

  • superb phone for the rough stuff in life only needs to be charged once a week not like my n95 twice a day .not scared to lose this one does support mp3 tones an only needs a wash an you a new phone a bargain at 59.cliff

  • Just used it on a 4 day campingtrip, and it work like a charm, even after water, mud and snow !

  • this phone does support MP3

  • Does'nt support mp3 and high quality photo's???

  • The M110 kicked the crap out of the Sonim XP1 on the gadget show on monday.

  • this is a fantastic samsung phone which has taken the industry by storm, amazing functions and very pratical puts the n95 to shame with its features and the camera is actully better quality due to the high resolution screen. no other phone comes close a must have for anyone with style.

  • nice one. Tri Band would have been better tho

  • At last a phone that will last and not look bad after a few days in the pocket unlike those stupid silver sprayed jobs i love it and 24 months warranty amazing at the right price buy today!!

  • I've yet to see a better rugged than the SONIM XP1. Now that's a tough phone!

  • hmm without externar memory?not worted

  • Brillant handset, snce Noka have stopped making the 5140i & 5500s i'd recommend it any1

  • Brilliant hard wearing phone, wll take a beatng

  • indonesian waiting for this one !!!

  • Michel, if this isn't as rugged as the 5140i then it's a real disaster, since that was the poorest excuse for a tough phone that I've ever come across. The flimsy shell was a real let-down after the excellent 5100. It's a shame more manufacturers don't make these sorts of phones, because there seems to be a demand for them.

  • This phone is a basic phone. It is light and appears well built. I am a police officer and have lost/broken two expensive mobiles recently in foot chases. This is cheap enough to lose (though you'd rather not) and unlikely to break if it falls out of your pocket. Keep your flashy phone for special occasions and use this at work or sports etc......

  • go through so many phones due to breaking them . lets hope this is the one . cheap an chearfull. this must be the one .happy days......let ya know later.

  • Looks tough enough against bumps and scratch... but Things I prefer to are good shape of keypad and long battery life. Green color looks too solid for me and it would be much happier if more color options are available.. Please tell me how reliable it is when it comes to outdoor activities..

  • a very handsome phone. and real solid, but not heavy. i really like the rubber 'casing'... and good stand by time. perfect.

  • Good phone - Surrender your body! Cant wait for it to come out. Should be cheap. NOW!

  • fantastic idea i currently own lg viewty and am scared of breaking it so will buy this for wen i go to play football (soccer) and walkin in the hills better be cheap

  • i like it very much and i will buy it when is on the market

  • This phone is already available in Holland, and I can tell you, it's not at all as rugged as something like the 5140i. It's very ugly, has the stiffest keys ever, and handles awfully. Don't get it. By the way, what's the deal with not one person being able to speak grammatically correct English on this forum?

  • i better buy china phones rather than this phones reason : 1) china phones maybe not so endure compare to others nokia or sony phones but i think the endurance maybe par with this and any others tiny samsung phones 2) cheaper price and more function and the quality is not very bad!! 3) yes most of the china phones only 6 month warranty but if your phones faulty is 1 to 1 exchange and phone usually wont spoiled easy if u don't drop and take care it wisely at the time the phones spoiled its time to change new model ^^ there are some china phones features that you are rarely seen in normal market 1) TV-reception phones (popular) 2) high capacity battery life UP-to 3000mah 3) dual-SIM support 4) touchscreen (but is not a smart phones) 5) FM radio(no need to use your handsfree as antenna) 6) we can also find some NOKIA alike phones made from china and good for business man (why) ? people usually buy phones to show off and hide the identity of the phones user and normal person is not easy or need time to find out it is ALIKE i was planing to buy one soon !! but i want to find the cheapest and more function want !! currently using Nokia N73 (real)

  • this phone is for poor people.

  • i agree with Hindustani

  • Great outdoor phone. You need a reliable tool out there (good signal receiver, long batery performance, resistant housing,...). No MP3, WLAN, useles cameras, Symbian, etc Right thing for me (forestry, nature conservancy, wildlife photography) Thanks Samsung :) Teo

  • attention gsmarena webmaster[s]. link working but no pictures been uploaded there. www.gsmarena.com/samsung_m110-pictures-2196.php

  • Ecxelent phone. Phone for talking.

  • Push, spray water and dust resistance this means you don't need to worry about water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Horrible Colour, Water Resistant Nokia 5140 is reborn as an eyesore

  • this phone look good but memory is low only 2mb it should be 40mb

  • Its seems like a copy of nokia 5100 sports series.

  • camera resolution 640 X 480 with FLASH sounds great !!

  • I am the first one to post this phone is very basic if it Price Rs. 2500/- its okay

  • Another blockbuster -- just like the C170 -- from Samsung. Lovely little phones. Phones and not geeky toys for the over-funded crowd eager to show off.

  • Its low end stop complaining

  • to isaac this is not a high end phone it is for granmothers or 5 year old chold tha the answer

  • This phone sucks big time..with noo mega pixel camera...noo video caliin..no music player....i have no idea y they came up with a phone like dis...
