It acctually have WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER(with Samsung UI) and it supports every music formats thats a advantage 4 dis handset. Camera Picture quality will turn out Awesome..when u watch those pics on ur PC. U can CREATE themes on this phone. And another Plus Point..U can DOWNLOAD games and apps upto 1MB. Such a good deal for a JAVA phone.

This mobile has problems with MP4,some 3gp video formats & some java applications, even it doesn't support any sort of mobile software of any size & format in any condition. Even it cannot bear more than 300 messages. Though it has some good features but fails in comparison to current mobiles in terms of features.

  • It happens just because of DATA bus cable between slider got cut. It happens when we use excessive sliding. You need to get excahnge everytime in future when it gets cut. costly maintainance.

The features are well incorporated and user friendly, easily manageable. I would have buy another phone for my wife.

  • It supports mp4 & 3gp videos.and the default video format is also mp4. but,the video resolution couldn't be more than 176*144 Pixels. You can check the details of video dimentions by going to Options>Details. 320*240 videos are not supported.

  • People dont buy this mobile. dont take me as harsh. its fact. this is the 2nd Samsung slide model iam using in the past 2yrs. both of them ended up with the same problem. the keypad on the slide section will not work at the end of 15months.

  • Dear friend, don't buy M2710 samsung mobile. only first six months at max. it works fine and there after problems start. first, strip will fail due to this sliding model then display and other problems like while talking call gets stuck-up and voice will be stopped, after 30 seconds of stuck-up call gets cancelled. go to any samsung service centre and just observe how many no.of phones are comming for repair with this model, every one thinks that only his/her phone got problem but it is a common problem. samsung Service centre people are the worst compared to nokiya since samsung does not have own service centres and giving to third party service centres. finally my suggest is, if you want by samsung phone then go for just flat models and not the sliding and not the flip type. i have faced problems very much. mainly this M2710 is a very attractive but usful for 6 months i.e., you need to wander to service centres and they are the head-ache creating persons. If samsung has their own service centres then it would better.

  • I too faced the same problem I purchased on Jan 2010 and the strip for sliding purpose got failed on September 2010 itself.

  • Forgot to add a few things in my previous post. The batter life is good too (it's Li-ion as you can see in the features). Listening to songs for 3 or 4 hours a day and making calls normally, the battery will run for more than 1.5 days easily (with the above usage, im charging it once every 2 days). The music player responds a little slowly ( a second or two maximum after you have pressed the button) but that shouldn't be a problem if you have got little patience. It has got 2 headphone slots - samsung proprietary slot and normal 3.5mm jack slot. The samsung slot is multi-purpose as you can use it either for earphones/charging/PC. Once you install samsung software that comes in the cd, you can also charge the mobile when you connect it to PC and simultaneously transfer data. The volume up and down button works even when phone is locked. However, as per my operation of the phone so far, I couldnt find a way to change the song or fast forward/rewind the song when phone is unlocked. The camera quality is also good. Theme creator function can be used by selecting the Menu->Settings->Display and Light->My Theme->Create option. There you will come across options for selecting background and a few suggestions from phone about menu options. It's easy.

Music player can be minimised while playing and u can carryon with other work (except while setting reminders where music playe will be paused automatically) Screen clarity is good. Voice clarity is fine. It will do. Overall experience about this mobile is very good. I bought it recently and I recommend you go ahead if you are planning to buy one. The phone is very interactive too. Asks you what to do at every point. Wonderful product from Samsung at a good price.

  • Hi, I bought this phone a week back. Phone is good in music. But the battery is very low lasting. The battery has a back up just for a day. More over, the camera is not on the top of the phone but is at the center of the centre. So it is difficult to take a pic. I think the camera is on the top of the phone.

  • In my opinion, go for S3500 which has an elegant and executive look than M2710. Camera is very good in S3500. Only thing, u have to make sure whether it supports 2gb and more memory card or not. I bought this phone with 2gb memory card. When u switch off and on, it is not supporting the memory card. So I replaced with M2710 which is made in China; S3500 made in India.   • I am not able to understand, why samsung has not posted this phone on their site. I complained about it, and they assured to list its specifications on website. I purchased this phone for Rs. 5500 in New Delhi (Gaffar) without any data card. This is nice phone, really very good without any "faltu" items like wifi, 3G, GPS etc., which has no use for common Indian. Music quality is good. Nice phone to gift to some dear.

  • i think the music player doesnot need the shake sensor as there r 3 specific keys for play/pause ,previous,next so i dont think there is any necessity for the shake sensor

  • u can play the video in ur mobile but i cant confirm it first record a video in ur mobile using the video recorder save it in the memory card then open the memory card using ur pc determine the format of the video along with d bitrate framerate every thing using the converter then convert the required video to that format

  • 5130 or m2710 both phone is great. In case of nokia 5130: themes can be download,bar phone,mobile displayed on nokia's official website. In case of samsung m2710: themes can be created(in built theme creator)but not downloadable,slider phone,mobile NOT DISPLAYED on Samsung mobile official website (:P).

  • Excellent phone from samsung. It has got great features. It is purely a music phone, from my past experience I can say that this phone was the best for music at this budget! But the phone works a bit slow when playing music, and shake control for music doesn't work! But works well for games! battery life is very good! It came for 2 days with 2-3 hours of music, around 0.5 hours of talktime! Best feature is two people can hear the music together using its two ports, one 3.5mm and other samsung earphone!! Overall I'm very much satisfied by the performance of this phone!

  • In ur mobile u will find Motion control option in the settings of media player but even if u enabled it, there will be no change. It was a defect from samsung. u cannot change d songs by shaking d fone. but u can play d games by shaking d fone. In this model motion control for media player will not work.

  • oh forgot !! dual speakers will subdue ne sounds in surrounding area inside colg canteens. but im havin a doubt ... in low sound settings the sound is too low .. sound bar has 14 steps nething below 3/4 isnt almost audible without headphone. can ne1 confirm if its a defect with my cell or is it made to b like that only ??

  • ya agreed battery is not best in the lineup. constant use i.e. usin FM music player games calling transferring - like u do when u get a new phn gave me 1 day after 1st full charge. sound is not top notch but very loud. indeed it subdued sony ericsson in loudness n also clarity in sound is pretty decent. over all a very likable phn for 5450(kolkata price) plus looks cool!

  • hi hotspot guys in kalkaji e 7 ,can any1 of u tell me why was i charged RS 5950 WHEN U R QUOTING THE PRICE AS 5700 ,so my advice to all u guys in kalkaji dont go to hotspot they overcharge u a lot,bad experience

  • Y most of the phones of samsung specifications of battery wl be not given. basic cell wl give 1day or 2 days but this phone i dont think it wl give good battery backup

  • actually, your comparison isn't very good, since m7600 is a full TS phone, whereas this has a hardware T9 keypad. but in comparison with the m6710.. like no point of this phone leh =/ c'mon samsung ! more of beat DJ m7600 =D
