Navigation should be activated by default. If you can't find it in settings, then try that: keypad -> *#5239870*# -> internals -> *#7092463*# -> LbsApp -> navigation -> enable -> save. Then press end call button. If you mean to use voice guided NAV - it is paid.

I had this phone for about 2 months and it really was a great machinery, good camera, although it required quite a bit of light to make a GOOD photo, easy to use interface, WiFi was great, but then it broke down... started to overheat and shut itself down, up to the point where I couldn't turn it on anymore. Took it for service, they noodled around for a month and told me it will not rise from the dead... the pixon was gone... what a shame, cost a lot of money, was great fun, but broke down. I'd buy it again IF I knew it won't break down on me again, but nobody can guarantee :/

Glory to N8 Really, I thought that pixon12 camera has a cover so it is protected. In reality the cover is there but there is a thin glass before the cover. Scratch that glass and the mechanical cover will lose its meaning to be there :/ From the reviews of this phone and my usage of it for sure leds to the fact that pixon12 is rubbish!

Text messaging is easy as long as you've used a touch screen before. I normally use the keypad to send text with the t9 dictionary on. It's the fastest way to make and send text messages. I have also used the querty keypad, just orient your screen to the horizontal position and it will switch to it sutomatically. It's also very easy for me to use in this position.

The phone uses .jar files, install it in your mem card and run it, it should install automatically and run flawlessly on the phone. Just do a search and you should find a ton of sites that let you download apps and games for free. When taking macro shots, deactivate the flash and set your phone to center weighted (exposure weighted). I'd say 99% of my shots taken in this manner were all very good to outstanding.

Some of the answers you're asking I answered in my previous post. As for battery life the phone lasts me 3 to 3.5 days using text messaging, taking and making calls and a few shots here and there with my camera as well as video. Make sure to drain the batt phone initially after getting it and charging at least on the off position for 8~10 hours. Xenon flash is good up to 7~9 feet away in outside shots at night depening on lighting but I have taken completely dark shots (as in no light in a room) to 7 feet and the picture was still very good. Video shots are good at night up to 6 feet since it uses the led light and not the xenon flash when in this mode. Taking videos in day still produces better vids than at night. You just need to move the cam a tad bit slower when taking videos so it compensates better. Also before starting any video shots let the cam focus first (use face detection) then begin recording. I found it helps a lot. As for hanging, I've had the phone for 6+ months and the phone has never once hanged. Screen resolution is outstanding since its amoled, legibility in direct sunlight is good as long as you set it to 80~100% under display and light.

Crazy Accelerometer in photos preview (picture skipping) 6. Incoming Text Message for sms delivery report (have to delete them all the time) instead of pop ups. 7. YouTube videos simply cannot be watched (absolutely terrible picture quality) 8. Easy to scratch screen (do not remove the screen protector whatsoever) 9. Poor battery duration (lasts 2 days at most) 10. Lower than average usability and response when it comes to internet browsing. OVERALL IF you are looking for an affordable phone with great camera and screen display, this is it! Otherwise, do not bother.

for all who say n8 is better lets just compare this = n8 wins here ____________________________________ 1 n8 wins in 32gb storage wereas samsung is 16gb samsung here ____________________________ 1 video is 30 fps at 720x480 wereas n8 is 720p at 25fps but you just need to resize the video and if its 12mp resizing to 720p wont loose quality 2 document viewer (word, excel, powerpoint, pdf) 3 28mm lens = not even cybershot from sony has 28mm lens 4 personaly i dont have none of the two however the samsung camera is better due to the 28mm lens so il take this one but one thing to bare in mind is the nokia can support 32gb storage if you have need for this --- reoson to get the samsung is the camera and plus word and exell document viewr

Why yes, it is better...But considering the phone came out over a year after the Pixon 12 did, I fail to see why that matters. A comparison would only be worth mentioning if the N8 DIDN'T exceed the quality the Pixon exhibited. I assure you, next year, there will be another phone (or several phones) which surpasses the photographic prowess of Nokia's current flagship device. This isn't to take anything away from what they've accomplished, it's just the natural progression of technology.

I'm just wondering though why most manufacturers jumped to 720p video recording so fast without offering some fancy video recording features such as Slow-mo and Time-lapse which is offered mostly by Samsung and LG? Maybe its just me who likes those features but is it really harder/expensive to make Slow-mo video encoding than 720p? Amazing camera, amazing display, great battery life. Not a fan of the texting since it only holds so many before you MUST delete them, as well as the texting isn't threaded. Question I'm trying to find is what's the biggest SD it can hold. I have a 16GB class 2 in it now and I want to upgrade to class 6 or 10. this phone is the best out there but there are a few problems with it. 1 and the main prob is that you only can save about 50 text? then it gets full so with in a week it was full as i save the joke i get sent, so i moved them to the draft fold then that filled and now i can only save about 14 text in my in box? vert sad. 2. you can't cut and past text? when you forward a text and you want to text some of the message you press delete and keep your finger down and it just deletes the lot. you can only send 10 text at a time? so when you have a good joke and you want to send it to 15 friens you can't only 10. and the worse thing about it is you have a time on the photo so you can take a picture of your self? but it has no straight edge to stand it up? you have to lean it? but it leans backwards so it always putting at the cieling? they build the best phone by far the get some idiot the dezgin the over and software? what a joke they need a software up date asap because it pi**ing off me and my 4 friends who have this phone.

Well, yes, the Pixon12 is not a smartphone hence it has no OS. It is a Feature phone! Sony Ericsson on the other hand is VERY FAR from catching up in terms of video recording, let alone time-lapse video recording, does the Satio have Slow-motion video recording via Software Upgrade? I dont think so. Sure, the Satio is also a great phone with the 12mpx Camera and features as its a Smartphone, but for me, the Symbian OS is not good enough in the touchscreen league. I have personal experience with the Nokia N97. If Samsung could make another 12mpx Smartphone with the Bada or Android OS, it would surely take the mobile world with a huge storm!

If I remember correctly, according to the preview of the W880 AMOLED done by the GSMArena team, the W880 AMOLED is available for the South Korean Market only. So chances of other countries outside South Korea are quite slim. The Pixon12 is a great phone but with the Super Amoled, Bada OS, Android OS and others getting in the mix, the Pixon12 being the Feature phone that it is, it just doesn't quite look like a first-choice for most users in terms of features in a phone and getting more bang for the buck. But that's my opinion. If Samsung could come up with another 12-mega with Super Amoled and at least their very own Bada OS, it would certainly put a smile on most user's face's without a doubt!

best camera phone as of this year! I have a canon 10.1 mega but this is far better. wifi is good and bluetooth. and very nice speaker too! If your planning to buy a digicam, better have a pixon 12, you have a phone and the best 12 megapixel digicam too...

The reasons are - expensive (and NOT value for money) - slow performance - browser is poor/unresponsive/difficult to use - first phone i've ever had that loses phone numbers - poor user interface (unlike my previous Samsung phones) - extremely poor support from Samsung (no updates, etc) - antenna reception is worse than any of my other phones i've owned - touch screen is very unresponsive compared to Apple hardware (it's fairly bad - I think resistive technology screens are all like this??) positives - beautiful screen quality - resolution of screen very good - photo resolution is better than good for a phone/camera (although images are noisy due to small image sensor size) - video capture is particularly good - audio quality is quite good Honestly, I just can't bear to use this phone because of the shitty user interface (slow/clumsy and that awful side menu that you just can't eliminate). I will wait out the rest of my phone contract and see if I can get an Android phone with a new plan (or maybe an iPhone if they iron out the design issues). For your own sake, don't buy this phone. Had this phone for around 6 months & am very happy. I upgraded from the Nokia N82. I loved the N82 but wanted a better camera. User interface not the easiest in the world but worth it given the quality of the camera. I wanted a camera with a phone rather than the other way round. Can't find a tv-out cable anywhere (I'd apreciate help here if anyone knows). Bought it on e-bay as it isn't available in New Zealand & no problems with supply/price etc. If you want an amazing camera on a phone that's pretty reliable & filled with useful features - get your wallet out & buy one :)

I too am on T-Mobile USA, and have the same problem with MMS sizing. The issue is caused by T-Mobile not recognising the User Agent string and the UAProfile of the M8910. I have gone into the service menu and edited the UA and the UAProf, and it corrected the picture size, but it caused the internet browser to not function properly. So, if you don't care about internet, there is a solution. Typing the new string into the phone does take a while though.

I have this device for over 3 months (previous phone SE K810i)... PROS: � Photo quality, colours, sharpness etc apart from the camera's 12 MPs. � Great, great screen (response, sharpness and everything)! � Xenon flash for photos & Led flash for videos � WiFi � Nice design � Good size (BUT DO use a wrist leash to avoid dropping it) � Good signal (could be a little better) CONS: � not a smartphone (but that would mean a higher retail price than 250 � ) � some internet pages won�t open up. � Blurry video in night conditions (got to choose only between autofocus or facefocus !!! - both fail to do the job , even under substantial night lighting conditions) � lower than average battery life last 2,5 - 3 days at most with average use (carries a 1000mAh battery when the SE K810i had a 950 mAh batt). Got to charge it every 2nd day . � Uncomfortable screen unlocking (got to keep pressed the button - not working if you press at the same time the button for taking pictures, which isn't rare at all since it's placed on the other side of the phone). � voice recording has a max limit of 60 minutes. � confirmation of received msgs comes to you only in a msg form - got to delete 'em all the time! � not loud enough ringtone. � takes only 12 letter characters for names in phonebook agenda (SE K810 much more - come oooonnnnnnn!!!) � when making a call via a Bluetooth set adjusting the volume is done only by the Bluetooth set & not the +/- device buttons. � Alarm rings for only one time � does not repeat itself every few minutes till you wake up and close it down. CONCLUSION: This phone could be much better if SAMSUNG paid a little more attention to some silly I must say details (ex 12 letter characters for your phonebook contacts, alarm etc � that�s why every now and then I do miss my old SE K880i), BUT OVERALL it really is a very good device, PERFECT for those who are interested in accessing the internet for free (via WiFi) and at the same time have in their pocket the best for the time being mobile-phone camera. If you want smartphone applications , buy a smartphone.

I have had this phone for a year in august and never had a problem with the volume the camera is amazing theirs a few things it dont do that over phones I have had in the past did do but the camera makes up for that. video in slow motion is amazing. and make sure you get unlimited internet usgage on your tariff as its so fast to upload your pictures to facebook I literally take my pics and 2 secs later there uploaded to facebook quick and easy def get this phones its great.

In my opinion samsung rushed this fon and, i own it and i am so sad when i see it laying there with so much potential but wit so much restriction imposed on it. this is the best phone on the market by far, only a couple of problems 1. there no straight edge so you can't stand the phone on its side to take a photo of you and friend etc 2. when you send a text message you can only send it to 10 people at a time. 3 no 3.5 audio plug in. apart from that 99% of you will be happy, touch screen is great. word of advice, buy a rubber case to go round it just in case you drop it.and befor anyone on says the sony satio does all this i'll say this, itsgot a straigh edge but touch screen is ok but software is pants and video is a joke, a 5 year old nokia has better video.

I've had my phone for about 4 months now, battery life is good but I don't use the web all day I just primarily use google maps, the exchange server and ofcourse constantly receiving text messages through out the day. I love my phone, I was going to wait for the SE Satio but I'm glad I didn't because this phone has everything I need. The camera is amazing and I'm able to load as many applications as any iphone out there. The virtual qwerty key board is very easy to use. I would buy this phone again if I had to.

Well while the Omnia HD can record HD 720p (1280x720) and D1 (720x480). By looking at the resolution you can see the huge difference that is HD and D1. D1 is just a little larger than VGA which is 640x480. Here's a link to help you out if you need more info

just got it about 3 months ago in Hong Kong on holiday, good thing about that because i couldn't find a place that sells it when i came back to Victoria, Australia. Nehu great phone, camera is awesome, interface is easy to navigate through. Just got this phone and I have some points to make: Pros: Sensitive touch screen (almost as good as ipod touch) Not too bulky (maybe cos i am a guy) Takes excellent pictures Superb battery life- have been listening to music and taking pictures the whole day and there is still 3 bars (half) left 5.1 channel really works! Cons: Something wrong with the phone book, can't seem to place everything in alphabetical order Flash takes a while to load, even after i have fully depress the shutter button Sometimes the unlock key does respond Speaker is soft Music player cannot play ma.4 files Calls are unclear (occasionally) Overall, the phone is fantastic. The UI is comparable to iphone and there is virtually no lag. If you can overlook the bad points, this is the phone for you. Hope this helps those who plan to get this phone:)

I've had a Pixon12 for a number of months and I'm generally pretty happy with the phone. The photos that come out of this cameraphone are nothing short of amazing. Given optimal lighting conditions the pictures look like they've come out of a proper (good) digital camera. Even in low light conditions the pictures never look blotchy or like the camera is struggling for light. However, as a phone it does not fair quite so well. There are some quirks in the UI that make use a bit challenging such as trying to select numbers from a list whilst sending texts. Key presses are not detected and it takes some fiddling to make it work. Also, the web browser is very poor. The lack of sensitivity of the screen means that the zoom is hard to handle and some of the most common sites (Facebook) has problems with cookie handling. By far the worst problem with this phone is not the phone itself but the extremely poor support from Samsung. The PC Studio software is, frankly, rubbish. It doesn't work properly and has so far failed to work 100% on THREE PCs I have installed it on. They have different versions of Windows but it doesn't seem to matter, it just doesn't work properly. If you try to update the firmware of the phone PC studio just tells you that 'Device not supported'. I contacted Samsung about this and they just told me to contact my local service centre. The only version of PC Studio that is available is from August 2009 - that's six months ago and not a single update. All in all, I do like the phone but the total lack of support from Samsung is very disappointing. If you want a phone that takes amazing pictures then get this phone. If you want a brilliant phone with excellent web browsing, look elsewhere.

I think u dont have experience. AMO LED SCREEN IS BETTER THAN LCD. Also i have iphone more than 140 000apps better than nokia symbian i need this phone for pictures only and i will use my second sim card. I Dont care about the apps my iphone have a lot and its more reliable than symbian. i had n82 and other symbian devices but i dont like them. So i sold them pixon 12 have bigger resolution than satio 480x800 ,satio have 360 x 640 pixels. About pictures samsung have better camera but satio beat pixon on video recording only if u can read review u will see why pixon is better than satio :) 3 days and i will have the phone! SAMSUNG IS just a camera phone,sony is smartphone with good camera.

Bro, I have no doubts Pixon12 photo output quality is better than Satio but you can try it first (NEXT WEEK) before comment it till like no other phone is better. I used Pixon8MP before and now uses Satio very happy with its bigger 3.5" screen where 16:9 ratio is the best resolution, why samsung dont make the Amoled bigger but follow the old pixon design. Really boring when using Pixon8MP when nothing to install like games, application, etc but now got a lot of fun games to play and even better than my Nintendo DS thanks to world no 1 phone maker (Nokia's Symbian). Satio design is better than Pixon, I own the silver color and because its good now I realised China phone has copy cat the design just like the Iphone and BB but not yet Pixon. One thing about satio camera performance has proven better than pixon is the shutter speed which can amazingly shoot a fan stopping while its on fullspeed tested sometimes even better than my friends Sony cybershot 12MP digicam in low light condition.

imtiaz, actually I just change my phone to SESatio12MP and tried it to takes photo on a full speed fan and it catch the fan blade stopping even in low light condition using flash and zoom from some distance like 4 metre away. this tells us SE capture speed is faster like a Digicam. after reading the review for Pixon12VSSatio at the beginning I decided to buy Pixon12 but its not available in my town then got to indent for a warranty set from Singapore for SGD900.00 then I change my mind then buy Satio at SGD795.00 export set and yet I realise Satio is more expensive than Pixon12 at all provider shop in singapore. with 16:9 HD format and thanks to its Nokia S60V3 o/s Its like a Digicam + PSP + HP + lot more gadget in one Satio.

you guys are thick why do you want hd video recording.yeah its realy good but still..... if you wanted a sister with blue eyes and instead she had brown eyes would you not want her??? the pixon12 is a excellent phone like one person already said its almost identical to the jet and the jet is a very good fone i had that before and its realy good the pixon12 is like a upgrade to it.it may not have some of the features that the jet has and the jet may not have features that the pixon12 has but there both still realy good fones.its only rare that you get a fone with everything YOU want. hd video recording is very good but then again normal is not exactly realy bad.

So what ? Every middle range pocket camera can record video in hd now for 200 dollars. About time new phones can do that do, so why this one cannot ? Samsung will probably launch a Pixon with hd video very soon. That would explain why this phone is not available in many countries....

yes it can.in terms of software(UI) jet and pixon 12 are almost identical! most of the times like in sms fonts can be changed with volume control.

it was my concern,too but the thing is in video mode u dont even have anti-shake mode .in programme mode(manual pic taking) u can turn the anti-shake mode ON manually only when u turn the flash off! and finally in smart mode as it is "smart" the anti-shake mode is automaticaly activated! hope it helps

dude ive had the same prob. with 2 other phones and have been talkin to people with different makes and models and it seems that all the probs. of this type might have something to do with windows7.ive read in other reviews in this site of various makes about this and all say they have windows7 but with other windows there doesnt seem to be a problem.ive only had this fault since i downloaded 7.

I m using omnia HD. No bugs. Only some minor issues of symbian OS. Camrea also got some minor bugs. But Smart phs can never compare with Non smart OS. If u r not interesting in using apps at all, then pixon12 is the right choice.

1st of all, I believe it's up to individual whether or not to get this handset. I'd like to emphasise that it's great to own Pixon12 as a "camera" phone. I had used it for a few weeks. The foto is really amazing. The colors of the foto exactly as what it is. Finally, samsung came out w/ a great cam-phone. Good job! But, be awared that the shutter speed, is slow. But capturing speed is fast I would say. However, as Pixon12 isn't a symbian / win os operated, I am quite disappointed that I couldn't really used it like the symbian / win mobile. Perhaps this is why pixon12 is not laggy. Browsing through the menu is easy & quicker. I guess I need time to adjust to the os of pixon12. However, I would like more shortcuts available in this phone. & the 3g surfing isn't really friendly. For instance, while using wifi, there is no problem w/ youtube videos streaming, however when switched to 3g, the videos doesn't stream at all. Wondering if any other users encountered the same problem? Or was it just for my case? Anyway, I would recommend Pixon12 to those who like a normal handset but w/ great camera. & not to those who are looking for 3G touchscreen handsets like mighty Iphone.

As it has the same codec than Pixon 8, the video sound will probably be as bad. Check But at least it has autofocus for video recording which is great !

Dont do it !! i had a N82 and loved it, originally had a N97 but had issues with 3 handsets and canned that idea. Myself and the missus have a Pixon 12 M8910 and whilst it is a good phone, it is not very flexible compared to the N82ie. WIFI , voip etc and applications. Also the M8910 seems to have the same signal and battery issues that the M8800 had. Nice phone, camera great , but let down by battery life, signal issues and lack of applications available. My N82 was built proof and wish I still had it, I also considering a HTC unit with android but want to keep cost down as on 2 years contract now !:-(

Does anybody know how to use the internet through a bluetooth dongle with a laptop. I have tried and it will not work.But if I use the cable which came with the phone with pc studio I have no problems.It is not the dongle that is the problem as I have tried it with SE K770i and works perfect.Apart from this problem the phone is fantastic.

Firstly i want to say that, indeed the phone is really nice, however i have i little situation when i connect it to my pc..... I've installed the software ( PC Studio, And the USB Drivers ) before plugging in the phone... when it's everything done, i connect the phone, but unfortunately my computer doesn't shows me the contents in the memory card of the phone....it seems to be empty .... Well I'm a proud owner of the device for about 3 weeks now, and I must say YES, it's way ahead of the competition in photographic terms, and an excellent overall performer with no serious flaws (at least for me). Just put this device to the test yesterday -- was planning to purchase this, and had gone after reading all the reviews. Maybe I just got a bad piece, but it was so slow, and hanging each time the menu was worked, that I was extremely disappointed. so far so good, i had this phone for a week now, and everything is nice, the touch screen is good, widget is kewl, i just hate when you type in the mssage that your hand gets to push the camera shutter button and it clicks.No problems with it so far. but really expensive :(

One last question. Is the screen sensitive? The phone has a resistive touchscreen, so it won't be sensitive to the slightest touch, but I don't like the idea of having to press the screen several times just because the screen doesn't take my command. My experience with omnia hd i8910,,, the day i bought it the firmware was very slow,, but always knew it was monster in term multimedia,, got the firmware update and there was no stopping back,, the only phone even close to it,,,is the htc hd2 demon which is my next phone So guys Happy mobiling

Hey Guys If its a camera phone you're looking for then its Pixon 12,,SE Satio is a good phone,, but in term of camera,, it fall behind the pixon by a bite,,,, coz i have both the phone with me,, i can tell for a fact that the pixon 12 is a real delight when it come to camera,,however Satio comes with symbian operating system so it has upper hand out there,, however we have the samsung omnia hd i8910 as a universal fighter ,, interm of camera and features of the phone, guys the choice is urs,, don't blame manufacture or the phone itslef,,check which phone suit u the best and then go for it , guys just to tell u,,that the SE Satio is little expensive rite know, for a 12 megapixel and the pixon 12 is a lot cheaper,,so if u like the satio then i would rather suggest to wait for a while till the rates actually go down, cheers and keep posting guys

a huge disappontment for me.1.)did not work longer than an hour then it just stopped,software bug samsung told me on the phone should send it in for repair! 2.)everyone seems pleased about this camera,but hardly anyone seemed to notice that it has not got a lens protection!,there is a protection that opens after one presses the camera button,butn this protection is BEHIND the front lens,absurd! So,the most important part of this mobile remains totally unprotected. Brought it back to the dealer and am looking for another phone.

This phone's messaging is great. I can type fast with no problem, better than with the iphone or any the LG Renoir. The keys are big enough, you don't end up typing two letter when you are trying to type just one.

everyone's got an opinion but u need not have to bash other brands. Satio runs on s60 which promises loads of applications and office functions. All pixon 12 runs on is Java and even the MS Exchange or Document viewer is pretty low grade and useless. If its camera you're after, go and get a digital camera man ... u don't need a phone. Childish and inconsiderate. Go build a phone yourself and then u'll know the R&D and effort that goes into it. Grow up!

From the first week i realised that the front cam doesnt work and the mobilecant accept video mms. i give it at the official samsung service,after a month they received and changed the cam but still cant repair the software for accepting mms. so i still dont have itback repaired after 5 weeks. Duh? N86? It's variable apperture is just a gimick. As I am using a dSLR and an ex-N86 user. Photos shot with Pixon12 is so much better at day and miles better at night than the N86. N86's flash is only good at around 2-3feet.

I hope samsung come up with firmware update to this phone. There's a bug on typing sms landscape, sometimes it doesnt turn landscape even tilted. And video recording, a green square appears on some videos, in the instance of tiltng the phone while recording. Very irritating. The phone has a great issue on accelerometer.

but if you compare pixon12 to satio, satio produces more blurry pictures when you enlarge them. The quality of Pixon12's pictures are better and more detailed.

Follow my advice. Don't buy a high specs phone just new in the market. Buy a high spec phone from 2 years ago. 50% cheaper, still a high specs phone and all the bugs have been fixed...Time to buy a Pixon8 or Nokia N95 8G.

My issues regarding the Pixon12 1. Scrolling on web browser is bad plus it always does run out of memory and it doesn't always displays full html website 2. On writing a message, Samsung could have opted to place the space bar to "0"...rather than placing underneath it (this is on T9 keypad) 3. Battery life is poor. 4. Despite having 800Mhz processor, it was kinda slow. 5. On video recording, there are instances that it was having a hard time to focus. 6. Limited widgets and those downloadable widgets are all the same. 7. During web browsing and/or charging..the battery really gets warm, irritatingly warm. All along I thought only the Innov8 behaves like this. With all these issues, i guess Pixon's great cam can't compensate it. Goodbye Samsung!

Sound of video recording for Pixon is AMR format at only 8 Khz, when Satio is AAC at 48 Khz far superior. But Pixon has auto focus for video which is amazing !

Got it yesterday. Felt good holding it, not filmsy nor plasticky at all. Good weight and pocketable. Phone interface is fast and camera takes pretty good pics and is snappy. Plays divx/avi movies smoothly wihtout having the hassle to convert. I must say the audio quality is above average. Arating of 7.5/10

I already own a SE C902, which at a time when I bought it regarded as a good camera phone, and as a camera phone it is not too bad. But the most irritating thing is that it does not have (just like Samsung M8910 Pixon) a 3.5mm audio jack. This is very irritating and unforgivable. That's true it is a simple phone, easy to use with big fonts and very good camera, but weak battery and expensive. If someone needs a phone for long usage and installing many softwares and games, better choose a Nokia or Iphone. But for me the main point is the camera so it is OK.

Besides the fact that samsung must have one of the worst customer service, this stupid phone that i'm very sorry i bought won't even allow you to install a java aplication from your computer. All you get on this phone is a great camera, the rest is rubbish. I called samsung up to get some answers about the phone and the guy there said he could not hear me because they are having problems with the phone lines and then the call ended :)

No point in comparing N82 (small screen and keyboard) with Pixon (big touch screen). People should now by now that touchscreen phone with tons of features need to be charged everyday. If you want to charge it every week keep your Nokia 3310...

Pixon is a nice phone , but has got poor battery life and I dont think the user interface is up to scratch like the nokia's. I had a N82 before and the samsung is not a patch on this, only the camera is better. I would be tempted with the nokia 5800 or wait for the Sony Idou. Avoid the N97 as I had battery problems and touch screen lock issues !! I wish phone companies would release more reliable phones !!

The battery life on this unit is terible, as soon as you start using wifi or mobile wireless it drains like I have never experienced. had to charge is twice in same day. I hope somebody brings a mod out for this unit, be it firmware or a larger battery !!! I had a Nokia N82 before this and it was more flexible, user friendly and had a better battery life ! I am stuck with this handset now for 24 months so do be warned !!!!

Of course it has an operating system (OS), otherwise you would not not be able to use the phone. It is just a proprietary one made by Samsung (Touchwiz) which by the way is quite nice but which don't let you add programs except java ones. But i heard they will open Touchwiz to programmers soon, hope so.

Hey Guys, U can't compare i8910 hd with m8910 pixon 12 or vice versa, both phone are good but hd has a upper hand overall in terms of specs,i8910 video recording is 720p which is nothing but 1280*720 which is really nice and also bcoz of the latest firmware hd has got recently, the video recording has got even better, as far m8910 is concern it takes i8910 only in 1 particular category,thats the 12 M.P it has, its a delight to watch movies on i8910 hd, especially when u don't have to convert ur movies and copy it on to your mobile phone,,,Guys its ur own choice, it goes like this for me, if u want a camera phone then get m8910, but if u want and overall performance i8910 hd does a good job,,,,,in camera,video recording as well as overall speed of the phone,,,,,,

this so far is the only thing i could find in comparing this samsung pixon 12 to the samsung omnia hd. im still searching for more comparisons to which is better. found this on gsmarena Samsung's own i8910 Omnia HD is another heavyweight cameraphone by Samsung which trades the 12megapixel stills for HD video recording and S60 5th edition OS. It doesn't have as sensitive a screen, but size does matter and the HD sure gets the upper hand. The wide angle variable aperture lens however is definitely earning a point for the Pixon12 plus the OmniaHD is quite large and not every one would be willing to lug it around in his pocket.

The battery life is OK: when you don't call much and don't use all the power-draining options (bluetooth, WLAN, making pictures, watching video's, browsing) the phone can last for days without a recharge. If you use it more heavily then you need to recharge every day. Cheers, Mark.

Jen you must have it set to use the phone memory (which is only 150mb) and not the external memory (which is 8gb) This is THE highest spec phone in the world and I totally love it - Would be nice to see something similar from Nokia though :)

Anyone had the error message...... 'Not enough resources, close some applications and try again' ?? Had it happen twice to me now even though i didnt have any other applications open on the phone! A quick switch off and on solves it though. You can get the 2d maps for free. all you have to do is go to extras-maps-route66 website-maps-2d maps- then select wich one you need. For the 3d maps you have to pay.

As someone already replied, it seems to be A-GPS or assisted GPS functionality. However there is no way to turn it off and just let the GPS find your position without also using GPRS data

In certain ways, its not as "smartphonish" as the i8910 as that is running symbian OS, if you want an all round multimedia phone, the i8910 would be for you, bigger screen, HD recording and playback. If you want a smaller, higher resolution display and generally smaller form factor and take more pictures than videos then M8910 is better. They both have their ups and downs

Hey, When u get a missed call, just click on your call button (bottom left) to bring up your call log and it wont show u the missed call on ur home screen again. Would be good if the facebook widget showed you facebook updates......but i get a txt everytime someone posts on my wall anyway.

To everyone that is providing feedback about functional and widget problems, I think can be sorted out via software, so hopefully Samsung will release an update sooner rather than later, I'm not sure how they do these things. Until then I shall wait and see, I might end up buying this... So everybody keep up with the feedback, both positive and negative.

Af ew more gripes... sorry to sound negative but these are real niggles and the widgets in theor current state are basically a gimmick with no real value: When you recieve a text, sometimes you have to click the 'view' button twice on the popup that appears inorder to open the text (even though the the 1st press causes vibration and visual feedback indicating the 'view' button was pressed) I had a missed call last night, which appears as a popup widget. Now, everytime i revieve a text this missed call widget appears, even though i dispel it everytime. The memo widget doesnt link to the memo app in the phone menu. ie creating a memo in the phone app doesnt cause it to show on the widget. The calendar widget, (which shows a month calendar view) doesnt show days containing events as a different colour, or any icon to show there is an event. The Facebook widget doesnt show you status updates or anything, it is just a shortcut to launch the browser and load facebook.

yeah you can check/uncheck widgets from the list. they then appear/dont appear in the widget sidebar. However there is no option to create your own shortcut widgets to menu items. And clicking on a widget from the sidebar desnt launch it, but places it on the current home screen. This means you can only launch widgets you are able to fit on the home screen. If all 3 are full (easily done) the only way to launch other widgets is to swap them out onto the home screen. Fiddly.

I have had this for about 4 days now bought sim free from phones4u. Im not overly impressed. here are the things really frustrating me: - The review on here, whilst very in depth is wrong when it states it come pre-installed with route 66. It is on there but there are no maps and it asks for a voucher code or you have to buy from the store. There is no voucher in the box (UK). - In the picture galleries you can scroll through pics by tilting the phone. unfortunately this doesnt seem to be able to be turned off and becomes extremely annoying, as slight movements trigger it when you dont want to scroll (ie if you try to show someone a pic). - There are no widgets for tasks/notes/alarm, for me these are some of the main apps i use regularly (i dont see how a 'stop smoking widget' is deemed more useful then an alarm widget). It is not possible to create your own 'shortcut' widgets to items in the phone menu. - When you try to load widgets from the slide out widget menu, they dont load but get placed onto the main screen over the top of other widgets. This means to use a widget it has to be on one of the 3 home screens and cant be laoded from the widget menu. If you use a lot of widgets there simply isnt space for all of them. Also when you try to scroll to the other home screens you always end up triggering widgets by accident. - Battery lasts about 30hrs with few calls, bit of wi-fi and couple of pics. - The camera shutter button always gets pressed when trying to use the screen one handed. it doesnt trigger anything unless camera is open, but gets very annoying clicking all the time. - When connected to wi-fi, if i use googlemaps the phone also connects to GRPS for some weird reason. The Pros: - Camera is very good, flash is great. If anyone knows how to fix any of these issues please tell me as it will greatly improve the usability of this phone. Thanks

this is pretty much an awesome phone. it does everything you need. great idea. would like to see 12 mega pixel pictures printed out. glad they put in wifi. a big mistake on MM8800. missing it out. cant say much wrong about it. it has all markings of being a amazing phone. we will have to see how it does against the Satio(Iduo) or whatever it will be called, and if it ever comes out this year.

Phones 4 u have it exclusive for one month, so i'm guessing it'll be available everywhere else from 1st september, although nothing has been mentioned on the vodafone site. Hi all Current phone is the Samsung G600, and really want one of these. On the G600 you can't change the sms/mms tone to anything other than the presets (i.e. no mp3s etc) does the Pixon12 allow you to do this? Ok mine arrived today, it is a multimedia dream!!!! The camera quality is stunning, and the videos are great!!! Taken some pictures indoors and quite dark and the photos come out fantastic with the flash, no red eyes or anything!!!! one thing that bugs me i have to say though, when i make a call the screen locks itself and you have to hold the unlock button for about 2 seconds to be able to press any buttons or activate loudspeaker, anyone know how to stop this...? Apart from that though, fantastic phone!!!

Got this phone on sunday from phones4u simfee �489.00. I must tell you its brilliant flash is like a normal camera video is v.good and picks are so clear in the dark . There are 4 marks for battery power and i have had it on allday with average use and bluetooth on and one bar has gone so if it lasts 3 more days i will be happy overall well impressed

They talk about the sat nav in the gsmarena review. It has google maps which do look really good, i keep mine on sat view......this will be really good if you were somewhere you didn't know. Actual 'Sat Nav' is on the phone (samsungs route66 version) but, to use it, you will have to pay for it; and im not sure how much.

First Thoughts: Its slow. Ugly looking. Battery is crap. Touchscreen is non-responsive and on the whole an injoyable experience..... .....IS ALL THE THINGS THIS PHONE IS NOT!!!!!!! Ok, real review now. Got it Saturday morning. Had to get it on a �40 tarrif (i think the guy said you can get it on a �35t if you trade in your old Nokia N-series, which i thought was a bit wierd) but of course, that comes with loads of mins (1200 i think), unlimited txt and unlimited internet usage (definitely gonna need that). Oh, and guess what samsung were nice enough to include in the box........a 2GB memory card. Brilliant :) Design and construction: First thing to mention is it looks really nice. Its exactly what i wanted in a phone, sleek and modern with a really nice polished finish to it. It feels solid in your hand because there are now plasticy bits to be found on it. TouchWiz UI 2.0: This is my first Samsung phone, so quickly getting used to the UI, but having fun doing it. Its all really easy to use and looks brilliant. Its really responsive and gives good touch feedback. I have experienced one or two little lags....for about a second, then back to being brilliant again. Phonebook: Nice set up here, love having the txt/call option beside each name, very user friendly. Mesaging: Was worried about my experience with using a touchscreen phone to txt, but, having no problems with it so far. I find myself using both the standard T9 and QWERTY keyboard. Both good to use (even for my big fingers) and again, responsive. Music Player and Gallery: Music player is good, like the graphics they run with it. The gallery is really cool. Taking a few photos (I'll get to that) and they load up really quickly with hardly any wait time. I've started to use the TAG option and when they come up on the menu there all split into tag catagories, which i thought was pretty cool. Full photo view, again is smooth and fast.....and looks great. Camera and Video recording: 12 mega pixels of goodness coming up. Its just as good as it should be lol Have had fun playing around with it ( a bit sunnier today, so i'll be out snapping a few more) The photos look gorgeous on the phone and im sure they'll look even better on the comp. Tracking mode and smile shot are fun to play with and both work (tracking shot better than smile). Its quick too. Camera loads up very fast and next photo is ready to take in 2-3 secs after the last one. Uploaded a few straight to facebook as well without any problems. Thats gonna be fun when im away somewhere with friends. The lens! I automatically want to rest my finger (when im holding the phone) straight on the lens. I just keep cleaning it, fingerprint or no fingerprint lol not annoying enough to be annoying if you know what i mean. Taken a couple of videos and for me there pretty good. It doesnt judder in playback and picks up colours well for what i want it to do (im not going to use it to film a wedding or anything....) Connectivity and Web-Browser: Connected to my friends Wi-Fi no problems and had good connectivity. I'll try a public wi-fi next time im out and about. Using the internet pretty good and im getting more and more used to the one finger zoom (which is quite easy to use with good effect). Haven't been able to log on to hotmail account and dont know why. Youtube was good, selecting a video to watch, it automatically plays it on the phones own player which visually is really nice, good sound too. Its missing some flash requirements from other sights though.....i was on empireonline.com and there was something on the page it couldn't load up with flash9. Everything else was fine, the browser is really good for a phone and i've made my top sights widgets on my home screen which is cool. Other stuff: I quickly used orange maps....and it quickly told me exactly where i was. No problems there. Smart unlock is a good feature and works great. With your 3 homescreens, you can have a different background for each which is good. The 3 Phisical buttons work well. When you make a call, the phone locks unless you select keypad, to use the.....keypad! Bluetooth works fine too. So, lots more to play with, but so far (1 day later), loving it.

I tried INNOV8 and SE C905 in photography in the daylight and found that innov8 is better. An object shooted from distance was clearer with Samsung. Bearing this in mind, I think Samsung Pixon12 is much better than Satio - and don't forget: Samsung program is user-friendly, contrary to SE.

I had this phone for 3 weeks now ( I work for Samsung ) and as far as I saw it , thisis not a phone ! it s a 12mpxl camera that happens to have a phone as well. the picture quality is just amazing. the AMOLED screen gives it an edge over other models.

Most people won't buy this phone but will go and buy something else, The reason being is because it doesn't look like this phone will be available sim free until at least September and when it comes out next week it's only available from one shop (Phones4U) and it's only available on one network (Orange). I think Samsung have made a big mistake with this phone because it's only available from phones4u from 1st august and that's on orange, surely that means that it won't be available sim free or on other networks until september? They should have already released this phone, it was due to be released last month, the satio could outsell this phone, samsung have clearly made a big mess of getting this phone out.

Saio a.k.a. Idou is much moree expensive than pixon12 hence Satio has to be compared with omnia hd.... omnia hd beats satio by a mile....it has twice the ram, hd recording, oled screen which is bigger and a lot more memory

Its a big screen you can't do a whole lot with it. I'll admit that I like the back of the Saito a lil more but thats it. There isn't anything creative you can do with, besides change the shape of a speaker grill and a few buttons. Personally this phone looks a lil more user friendly because of the overall simplicity. I can think of a lot of phones way uglier than this. Pretty much anything from Vertu for example. Anyways this phone is a real peice of work, it'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Saito, once the final versions of these things are released.

why does the gsmarena even bothers to compare the camera quality to SLRs and point-and-shoots. The difference is really big, especially in terms of image processing. It does better than the innov8, but is not any better than the two canons. Guess handphone camera tech is still far from old point-and-shoot cameras' tech.

Very nice phone, i was gunning for the omnia hd, but find it a bit to big en this is more of a comfortable size and the specs are also very interresting and i dont want to wait for m8920 monaco. but stil a few Questions: -wat is the use time of the battery? on normal use and if your snapping or watch video all day. I read someware that the battery of the omnia hd, was not properly reset. Wen emty a few hours sealed in the freezer cured that problem and preforms now good. - do you get een conversion program with it so you can play your movies and series? release is in august? -can it play mkv(the spec say h.264)?

i must admit, while i assume its a good phone, its not much of a looker, and certainly not as good looking as the original pixon M8800. In fact, this new one looks a lot like the S5600 which im not too much of a fan of, but lots of people do like it! If you want a simple, touchscreen, relatively cheap samsung, thats what you want, but when you get used to the better phones *coughs* (samsung pixon/omnia/iPhone) you wont like it! Im off the point, I dont like the look of this, and as far as im aware, the only difference is the camera, and c'mon, who needs even 8 on a phone?! Ok, i was fooled into buying one, and yeah, its a good camera, but it eats into the battery like hell, and i doubt samsung will have a heavy duty battery! lol! So, i have my doubts about this phone, but please get back if anyone gets one to tell me if im right or wrong! PS, also, please let me know if there is a change in the hold key, its soooooooo annoying on M8800! thanks!

I am tempted to buy the Omnia HD but due to a bad experience with the original HD with respect to reception, i am scared to make that investment. It would hurt to spend soo much on a phone and then not be able to make calls properly. Samsung has to do something about their cell phone reception.

I just spoke to my Orange opperator who said that the phone is undergoing tests and isn't avaliable yet. And according to celluloco.com......it DOES have a 800Mhz CPU. Whoop Whoop.

Ok, phonebook memory. Do you know more than 1000 people?????? Case closed! Battery power.....because of the Amoled screen it uses around 60% (or 40%) less power than other screens in the market. Camera. Samsung has really gone out their way to assure that the functionality of the 12mp on this phone is at the level of a digital camera. 28mm wide lens. 2 second time delay for next photo. Pretty good if you ask me. I dont work for samsung by the way.....I've just done my homework.....!!!

Ok firtsly I dont agree the having more than 1000 contact entries is a great selling point. The average phone user, like me, would agree I'm sure that up to 1000 is more than sufficient. I do however think 12mp on a mobile phone is a little ott but it looks good.

hi , I think that this phone will not be sucessful in the market due to 2 reasons 1 It has only 1000 phonebook entries: in today's time when there is an option of unlimited entries why anyone will go for 1000 restruicted entries? 2 This phone has a weak battrey: As all samsung phone(except guru range) has battrey problem so will this one have as this battry is half of e 71 or e 65. Finally people can buy cemra but in the phone the see features but they do not compromise on battry due to this . I think this phone will be a big time flop except it's cemra

The phone didn't break as such, just got some noticeable dints/damage on the casing and camera mode toggle switch, but has annoyed me enough to want to compliment the existing phone I have. I want a better cameraphone with Xenon flash, so it's looking like its between this and Satio, although i'm leaning more towards this because of the slightly better video recording. I have no use for the advantages S60 brings. The only problem as you correctly point out is the lack of a conventional keypad. I loathe touchscreen, but I want something relatively soon, so might make the sacrifice and see how it goes... I just want some info on the official release date and pricing already. Hurry up Samsung!

you can shut off the sound in se too. if your mobile broke in 1 fall then samsung failed the stress and break test. the isue is not smasung or se or nokia , i personally prefere hybrid mobiles to have both touch screen and a keypad , only touch screens is a risky bussiness

I recently bought an i8510. Was quite satisfied with it, but dropped it recently on cement. Now it is significantly damage and i'm quite pissed off about this. As soon as I read about this phone (Although displeaed at it being solely touch screen), I have considered getting this phone. One critical factor will make or break a purchase of this phone. Does anyone here know, like with the i8510, can you turn the shutter/camera sound off for taking photos and recording video? The reason I don't bother with Sony Ericson phones is because you usually can't which is very annoying. If the answer is 100% yes that the shutter sounds can be turned off for photos and recording video, then i'll seriously consider purchasing this phone...

I've Pixon it's been only 2 Months, and the touch screen responds randomly...i touch at bottom it responds in the middle, and yeah messages won't show you the name usually numbers, i've tried both the number with + & 0 but nothing happend, don't go for it, it's a big waste.

12MP camera is preety useless in phones. It's either based on approximation not acctual 12MP sensor or the optics are too weak to make 12MP photo.

I have the Innov8 and love it. Oh, and 8 megapixel is plenty good. IN fact, I dare anyone to compare 12mp to 8 and tell me you can see the difference. My Innov8 has full turn by turn navigation and it works fantastic. Its the best phone of all the Samsung's right now and even the guy in my Vodafone shop attests to that. No one can even come close.

What do you mean no HSCSD? The specs say: "Card slot microSD (TransFlash), up to 16GB" I'm pretty sure 16gb is enough for loads of pictures with a 12mp camera. (maybe some music, but its a camera phone?)

you must be joking.. its not the same quality..12 mp photos are more refined than the 1.3mp,2mp,3mp,3.15mp,5mp,8mp and so on.. due to capturing more pixels...the details are sharper.. bt the lens play a part as well.. its not really a market gimmick..it really makes a difference..and since this has a 28mm lens.. it shld make a diff atleast...

12 mega pixels photo contain more detail.But, if we use same chip and lens that was used for an 8 Mega pixel photo, it will have less clarity than that of an 8 mega pixel photo. please wait till the actual review comes out, and choose a better phone.

In the wake of Satio's official announcement Samsung have announced their own 12 MP offering; the Pixon 12. The name isn't exactly inspired, but at least it's practical. The Pixon 12 is, as the name suggests, essentially a Pixon with a 12 MP camera. The real news though is that the Pixon 12, or the M8910 to give it it's proper title, will be available in European markets at the end of June. The one who wrote that it's the same quality with 8 and 12MP have one point with what he said because if the lens is of the same size with 8MP and 12MP it will be more blur with the 12MP camera if not the light is perfect...so it's more important to have a big lens, that have more to do with the quality than the pixels. But my opinion is that the other functions on a phone are the most important ones and the camera is just for fun and don't need to be as good as a real camera. For professional photos you will probably use a real camera instead...

Even though the 12 mp cam and amoled screen is alluring, I still think n97 is a LOT better. Samsung is becoming hasty not wise. Samsung Omnia HD was definitely a disappointment. LOL. Seems like you have no information about samsung at all. Samsung was working on 12mp feature phone and a 8mp smartphone with 3x optical zoom well before IDOU was announced. Samsung was supposed to announce that in MWC back in February, they didn't. Whereas, just to grab headline SE announced their first 12mp i.e. IDOU which is not ready TILL DATE. Their first 12mp is just a BIG claim, where as Samsung's first 12mp is close to reality. So lets not get into who copied who thing.

I dont rearely use it for MP3 and MP4 and I still have to charge it twice a day. If Samsung management can read this you better do something about the battery life else your losing customers.

Top 3 on my list... 1) M8910 Pixon12 - 12 MP, xenon, pocket-friendly, nice! 2) i8910 Omnia HD - poor sound quality 3) N97 - lacks an 8 MP cam Samsung might be better than SE afterall. But still, Nokia is the leading manufacturer worldwide even though they are sluggish in improvement. LG is quite improving but really annoying due to fact they are just trying to copy the iPhone. compare them pixon's advantages: coming out sooner smaller size lighter better quality screen (higher resolution and amoled as well as capacitive vs lower res, tft, resistive) more internal memory bluetooth 2.1 blink detection wide dynamic range (camera) video at 720x480 at 30fps satio's advantages: bigger screen (3.5 vs 3.1) wifi with dlna (both hv wifi but se has dnla as well) IM gesture control these r facts and as u can see samsung has more advantages
