i have this phone for three years and has never let me down. i have bought other phones (also from samsung) but i still keep it for emergencies. its very tough(i assure you), very basic and easy to use, and you would'nt miss a call coz it has a strong ringing sound. if you are not so into other features and needed the basic calls, txt, and organizing scheds...this one is the best

This phone just goes and goes and goes. Like the fricken Energizer Bunny or Bruce Willis in Die Hard.. I hated the lack of features on this phone, and i have had it for a good 3 years. I even got a new phone, broke it, and came back to this one. I have TRIED to break this phone. kicking it into walls. Dropping it from 3 flights of stairs. Running OVER IT. Slamming it onto a desk WHILE OPEN. While this phone has next to no features, if you need a phone to make calls, and send TXT, this is a very cheap and RELIABLE option.

The phone plays a tone when you power on/off. I didn't found any way to turn off this tone. In the sound settings menu there is no item for this. Do you know how to disable this noisy tone? If there is no solution, I will return the phone back to the shop.

it is really durable fellas.... mine fell in the water (5 feet deep) and was there for about 1.5 hours before being fished out! still, it became alright after 2 days of drying in my room.... and also, great colors... worth its money...

I've got a question: When you have put a pin on your sim (via the phone) how do you remove the pin. I have two major concerns about this phone. This phone doesn't come with a proper manual.I thought they were conserving trees by only including the 'Quick Start Guide' in the box. I assumed a proper guide would be found on the web to expand on the Quickstart guide.No.There is no other manual on the web. This "quickstart" guide is inadequate. The guide is also very misleading as it states in writing and shows ICONS that it does have roaming and GPRS. If this were so, we could get our money's worth by downloading our own tones and jpegs/gifs. I am taking this to consumer affairs AUSTRALIA. This is blatant false advertising. The sales person told me it had polyphonic tones. Sorry guys to those who love it... Yes, i thought it was cute too.

I purchased this phone for my wife...she needed a fold up phone as she has problems with catching the keys when the phone is in her handbag...it is a paind to have to lock and unlock the key pad.. but this is perfect a good cheap phone no frills easy for use and hey we just wanted a second phone for a different Network ..perfect clear and easy to use ..if I wanted games and all the bells and whistles I would have spent more money.. for our use I would give it 10/10

You can change the answer-phone-via-flip-open in the Phone settings -> Extra settings menu. Uncheck the Active folder option. Then you can see who's calling and even mute the ringing without answering. :-) Hope this helps.

I bought one today ( 06/06/06 ) and besides it having No Games, i like the phone very much. Does everything it is supposed to, make and receive calls, send and read sms. Over all, i think the phone is really well suited. I like it very much, doesnt have the crap that no one really needs, like camera or etc. I am only 18, and find that the flip phone is very IN !!! I also love the New "Quicksilver" cover (which i have) and for the girls, the "Roxy" cover. i'd say about an 8 out of 10

i am planning to buy clam-type. considering x150 because its the cheapest around, looks good and simple. but i had bad experience with clam-type with samsung once, broke only after 6 months. the wiring inside the flipping are gets easliy broken since its flip type and we flip it always to use. I bought this phone today (6th of the 4th 2006) and for a long time ive avoided phones because of all the kids my age (16) messing around with ringtones and the cameras and all of that crap a phone doesn't need. I hated that image. But this phone is perfect, the buttons arn't tiny, the numbers are easy to read, the screen is very clear, beautiful colour, great sophisticated design, and the menu is easy to read. There are NO FRILLS, its just a phone with sms. Its very light, too! Perfect. I love this phone.

My father couldn't read well enough from his nokia 1600 so we tried this phone. It's fantastically cheap considering the LCD screen is Samsung-sharp as ever. I did not expect the responsiveness and quality from a CSTN-screen, and its price was deceiving. This is definitely a good entry-level phone and you can depend on it rather well. The screen is really well-made. Try placing it beside a Sony Ericsson J210i and the difference is obvious, even though it's a CSTN type. You will have to make do with a monotone, which is quite ancient here in the Philippines. I'm trying to find out how to connect it to the outside world for now. If you don't use it for calling and messaging, it will be very boring. Bring your gameboy!

i bought it about 2 monthes ago and i can't be happier with any phone, if you are just looking for a MOBILE PHONE nothing more, nothing fancy, not even games, but it's very elegant, very efficient, and very classy phone and i love it.

How boring a set can be?It does not even have other ring tones and games.The biggest flaw is mono phonic tones.I would have liked it if it was a few bucks expensive but had polyphonic tones... Very Very Very boring set.but only thing good abt it is it's display........boooooring

it cant download extra ring tones because its obviously not connected to the internet. like for NZ it would be Vodafone Live. Doesnt have this caperbility!

for what its supposed to do, ie: simple phone for sms and calling, light and small, easy to use, as second phone...and very affordable, i would say it hits the mark spot on. i like its call records function and capable to store 1000 names:) what more could u ask for? only minus is poor documentation. the factory password for anyone who wants to change the password for the first time is 00000000

I love this cheap phone. I had never use any features in any latest phone, eg. MMS, MP3, Camera, radio, etc, except phone call and SMS. So, this phone is enough for my communication.

This is my 1st samsung phone ! and, these are my experience on this handset ... 01. Color and animation, ok. 02. Handphone style, ok. 03. Ringtone for incoming call. I cannot say iy is ok, :( ... because they only provide with standard sound (i wonder on how to load my own ringtone). 04. Ringtone for incoming sms. its just the same .. just a standard. unfortunately, it has the same sound for incoming sms report, so ... if you activate sms report, you will confuse whether is it an sms or sms report. 05. Speaker quite loud. 06. Keypad ok ... 07. No speaker phone. 08. Cannot change the font. 09. Limited wallpaper. 10. No detail manual. They dun give me the manual for this handset, only a piece of paper describing some feature, :(. 11. They do not provide the password for this handset, some feature in this handset require password (eg. for nokia 12345), but this handset ... dun know ... anybody know about the password, please let me know ... 12. Signal ok. 13. No game. 14. I cannot turn off the boot up sound or when turning off sound (quite anoying). 15. No profile. 16. No speaker phone. 17. Phonebook memory on phone 1000. 18. SMS memory on Phone 200. in short ... if you need a device only for making a call, small, cheap, and only do the simple sms, and need a speaker that loud, this handset is one of the handset that you can consider to buy.

Simple and essential, just as the package says;) Fits me perfect. For mp3 I've got my mp3 player and the same for a camera. This phone does what a phone is supposed to do and nothing more. Lightweight, sleek and cool. The only thing I miss is to set a profile for different environments. Anyway, if you like simplicity, it's recommended.

tomorrow i will buy it. i saw it in the store. it looks very nice, snazy. it is suitible for a person who only needs basic requirement, sms, calling etc. if you need d600's features of course you can not like it. it can not be compered with d600 or nokia n90. but it is cheap and usefull according to me.

On the catalogue it is displayed with speaker phone but when I am trying to use it I cant and I contacted the Dealer they cant.What can I do because there is no manual? Or else there is no (speaker phone) I can be pleased if I can get clarity and a repply.

Very essential. Its nice because its light small yet fits my basic needs - call and sms only and 1000 name allocation for phonebook. The only thing I don't like in it is that it is colored and its sms write message does not have auto spell. Did Samsung never thought that (1) colored screen is useless without MMS, and (2) texters need auto spell. Is there a way for after sale reprogram of its software?

This phone doesn't have games as indicated on the specs list. I'm also unable to change the privacy settings because I don't know the factory password. It didn't come with a manual (other than a rudimentary pamphlet) and I can't find info about it on the web.

x200 is much better than x150. better get a nokia 1600, its cheaper and have more function.

This phone is very simple, kinda have a corporate look which is suited for business man. Is there any posible way to change the ringtone and the wallpaper? Well all i can say is that the x200 is better than this.. if you need those some other features.. i think. But i guess this phone is good for the right person who like simple phones.
