Samsung T429 - User Reviews

  • a subpar slider at best, as far as i can tell this is a more crippled version of the SGH-E250D

  • Indeed! I take phones from the target phone recycling bin, if you don't live in the US, target is a department store and they have recycling bins in their store. My youtube channel is just my name, which is Carson Folio

  • I keep seeing you saying stuff like "I got this phone recently" are you a phone collector? And if you are, do you have a YouTube channel?

  • Just got one for free, no battery though and it's in quite bad shape. Should work fine though

  • can you use this phone to get on a web sites

  • holy crap this was my first phone...and now i got the samsung galaxy s II!

  • This is pc of s... mobile

  • the is a very good phone but the bluetooth is not working..and i want to know why

  • ok so i had this phone for a coupple months and.... -the cleer button sticks down -people usualllly have a hard time hearing me -uses a differant key then the one i press -randomly turns off -horible battery -holds differant ammounts of texts everytime i dont like it

  • I hate it some buttons don't work now after 9 months

  • I love this phone, the auto memory is really helpful when it comes to dialling a number that ia already dialled, once you enter the first 3 digits every numbers that have those 3 digits popped up.

  • A lackluster phone, though good-looking and with a slick slider form factor. Depauperate in the feature department: no memory card capability (and only 3 mb onboard), poor camera, no video, no mobile email client, HFP/HSP bluetooth profiles only, can't put third-party apps on it if not signed by T-Mo (and with the measly memory, you won't get much on it even then and/or it will be prone to crash), cannot change T-Mo branded theme. Definitely not worth the $120 T-Mo was charging for it (now it's down to $40 on their site... at this price, it may be worthwhile). On the plus side: it's easily unlocked for free, to use with another domestic GSM carrier or overseas; Google is your friend here. On the bad side of this good side: unlocking still won't allow OTA config of WAP parameters for use with other carriers, and for some reason it still will not work with some foreign carriers, period. Looks like T-Mo sabotaged it in many ways. Unfortunately, this seems par for the course. Combined with the above issues, being only triband and lacking 900 MHz (more popular abroad), it works marginally overseas. At the current lower price, it'd make a decent domestic workhorse/beater, housed in a nice exterior. Don't depend on it alone if traveling abroad!

  • it sucks

  • My only issue with the phone is that is does not transfer files with bluetooth and does not use a standard mini usb for data and charging. Other than that it is a very simple phone and of good quality overall.

  • The Bluetooth limitations WERE really annoying - I thought I'd be able to use it to sync with my Outlook, and it turns out it only recognizes Bluetooth headsets and hands-free devices - nothing else. Huge bummer. On another note, my phone seems to be having some issues displaying all contacts. Some ("Mom," for instance) that were saved on my SIM card don't display in my phone book. When I try to input the number manually, it says the number is already in use on my SIM card! Overwriting it doesn't seem to make any difference. Has anyone figured this out?

  • i had this phone for a while and it is very bad it has no features the camera is horrible and the bluethooth does not find other phones.personnaly i regret buying this phone

  • according 2 the website, it has video. But it doesnt and it says it has a usb......... wrong. also, this phone is supposed to be great in bluetooth according to some people....... it doesnt even notices other bluetooth devices. this phone to be upgraded and needs some technological improvments..... this fone is whack........

  • Mine stopped working after 10 months. Started with the clear buttom, and continued with the up and down buttom...now all top buttoms dont work...

  • I have had this phone for the past year[a very long time]..and now it has finally stopped working write..started out with keys not working and now it doesnt work right at all....if i were u i would avoid getting it..not that it is all bad. i just wouldnt recommend it...for example the (blutooth) it doesnt work at all. it can never identify anything. Even if u are simply trying to download something from a friend..still [doesnt] work...also the whole tmobile display theme can not be changed(bummer)..so as a [previous] owner...i dnt recommend it. even tho its not all bad. [Also has a long battery life compared to other tmobile phones].....

  • I've had this phone about a month. So far, it's worked fine, although the delete all messages function doesn't always work properly.

  • can anyone comment on the bateries life of this phone. Mine seem to last only 1 day.

  • worst fone ever

  • i have had this phone 2 times in the last month

  • does the keys come off?

  • I got T-429 a month ago. It is a poor phone. As far as just making calls it is ok, but no a2dp, no email, no videa, camera is only VGA and you can't even change stupid T-mobile branded theme. That is in fault of T-Mobile. t-mobile is great , their rates are great but their phones are terrible. One advice use T-Mobile but buy unlocked phones. I have tried to find a flash software to debrand the phone but I was unsuccessful. Overall i is ok phone just to make calls, but forget about fun.

  • i Have a Samsung T429. its not very durable. i had 5 of these phones in 6 months.

  • I've just got the Samsung T429 phone from T-mobile about a week ago. So far I've had no problems. It is stylish, easy to use, and it is very loud! I can hear it outside on busy streets of San Diego with no problem. I've downloaded a few MP3 songs to give my phone some diversity from its very generic equipped tones. Speaker blowout is possible from MP3 ring tones. I have seen/read NO complaints of the speaker blowout from several online professional & personal reviews. Thus,I am a little more confident of cranking up my MP3 tones now. Great buy for a reasonable price. My only complaint is that the phone feels a bit flimsy. PROS: Very Loud phone, loud speaker, stylish, blue tooth, longer battery life compared to other phones I've had in the past, fits in pocket without discomfort. CONS: Flimsy feel, Possible blow out of speaker due to LOUD MP3 on lower volume setting -- *Yet to be proved from searched resources.

  • yes i agree, but I just don't understand why the bluetooth doesn't recognize other devices? it's really annoying and i'm not able to receive any ringtones from my friends that have bluetooth.

  • but i can used this as a mesage sender

  • this is my recent phone and i don't like it much. it's so hard to use. and u can't send ur pictures directly to your e-add. ugh.

  • this is a common bad phone from samsung. the phone does not read any numbers off the sim card. the bluetooth does not recognize other devices. when putting mp3 tones on the phone they sound like they blow out the speaker because it rings out of the earpiece not a separate speaker like most phones. the washed out color and pixelated images add to the poor menu and moving graphic interface. the phone is a step backwards for samsung considering they have some decent sliders like the samsung heat slider. even for a basic phone it can make a younger user unhappy for how lackluster and cheap it is.

  • hard to find software for it to put pictures on computer tho.

  • it's a nice phone actually i loved it!!!

  • nice phone; wish it had more background color options, but its likeable enough. one thing that bugs me, though, is that it when you take a picture, it shows more in the final picture than what you see on the screen when you're actually taking the picture. aside from that, i dont really see anything annoying about it. i like it.
