The sendo X its a great phone, it was really ahead of its time when it came out in 2003. I owned one for about a year, the only problem i had w/ it was that the battery wouldn't last for 5 hours. The problem was a bug on the phone that turn the irda on. The only way to solve this problem was to take apart the phone and break off the irda lamp. That's what i did and the phone worked just fine.

You can use wav files for rintones! They sound great, but take a lot of memory! I have it for 2 years and hawe problems with infrared (it gloves) and drains the batery in 8 hours(can someone tell me what to do) and also microfone is dead i hawe to use the heatphones to speak!

The P1 on your phone is displayed as you have selected Profile 1. If you want to change that then you can go to Profiles and change the same.

u cannot use mp3 tones if u wana set song as ur tone just do one thing convert ur songs in wav qualitiy pcm-8 and bitrate 56kbps do this as u do u can use songs as tones and do one thing more is u have memory card place wav tones in memory card at main just create a folder e:\SOUNDs\.wav files do this and go to profiles then normal then select sound if u have no memory card then place ur sound wav files in phone memory c:\nokia\sounds\digital\.wav files.ok bye

It is an ok phone in general but it has many problems. for example when you switch the power on it takes 2-3 minutes for it to move up and down or from pane to pane. also its bluetooth is not very gd and it doesnt work when you send multimedia messages.also the web doesnt connect and so you cant email or browse from ya phone, in addittion to this generally i wouldnt recommend it to people who are looking for phones.

hi friends i have solved the infra red problem i know u willbe happy to hear this that the ir prooblem has solved as u know i m expert of sendo x because i m great fan of sendo x phone so i m gona tell u how to gain ur battery life in latest firmware there is a bug of ir but release tension i m here 1. goto connect menu 2.then double click on infrared icon at a time (only two click)u will see the box "infrared is already active" now listen it is important just stay there for one hour because it is neccessary donot use ur mobile fone for 1 hour and listen u must stay in connect menu donot goback must stay connect menu for one hour and donot use ur set when u have done double click on ur infrared icon just leave the set for one hour after one hour ur infrared automatic will be disabled now ur battery timing is above 24 hours beleive me it works Promise By God it works i have tested this in my mobile now i m very happy if u wana ask any question u can email me [email protected].

Good fone.If battery trouble see if IR led is always on and try to remove the IR device from your mobile.The batt last at most 45 hours of standby.U can switch it off when u sleep at night and switch on in de mornong to save your batt as I do. Mp3 can't be used as ringtones but WAV files can be.I've got a application that allows me to do it so I can record 15 second part of a song from my radio and convert it in wav and have it like ringtone. De good is that my X support 2GB card.I had a 1 gb in it.Now I have a 2 GB kingston miniSD with an adaptator in it and it rocks.I can listen to 320 songs saved on my card and consult documents saved on it.Also I have 5 full movies on my card and can watch dem with Crystal2mobile player. To change wallpapers go to pane settings and to the wallpaper option. You can't set mp3 files as ringtones. I think you can set recordings as ringtones though. There is a way to reset the phone (I'm not sure if holding * and turning the phone on at the same time) Make sure you save all your information and return to the original settins before doing this. If your phone is slow I recomend you to change to the latest firmware (visit sendosmartphones.com)

Good phone.Got it since 8 month and have a 1GB SD card in it and it rocks.It doesn't support mp3 as ringtones but MIDI files can be used as ringtones.You can store docs in it and many many things.No radio.

My Sendo X is high tech. I am a Nigerian, just got my phone, but with a little hitch. I can't get access to forwarding my ringtones to other phones. I can only change it within my phone. I am also having problems with using the MP3 as ringtones as others are complaining. I also realised that ringtones that are sent to me goes into my inbox and only rotate btw My Folder and inbox. i read a few comments about the sendo X and they are all true.as for ringtones you can convert mp3's on your pc to wave or midi files and use as ringtones.but about the problem of people not being able to hear during calls am just lost.ive tried everything

Superb phone! Had no regrets since I got it. Compatible wit loads of softwares(note d file extension .sis tho). Gives me dat smartphone feel. Seems 2 av at least one software for any of its shortcomings.Real kool. Only bad points are d dead infra red(bt wit d blutooth n USB workin,c'mon),n dat singular theme,bt betcha u can download one. The phone is a good one with many facilities but it as a lot of problem.The infrared is the major one and also the phone been easily affected by virus. Its also slow in booting in many cases here in Nigeria. I would like to advice Sendo to improve on the quality and working capability of the phone.

hi if u got problem of ur sendo x please update firmware latest firmware and i m giving u secrect codes for ur sendo xthere are so many secrect codes for send x but now i m give u one secret code *#7370# it is a code for ur original mobile setting mean to say original setting sftware setting if u want flash ur memory phone memory press *#7780# the code is 12345 if ur phone restart continuesly so switch off ur off then hold and press three buttons ones is green key 2nd is 0 key third is 3 hold and press these three buttons and switch on continuos hold three buttons until ur phone is on when ur phone is on realease three key then gradully power off ur phone now ur phone is ok and turn it on and engoy if u got any sort of problem about sendo x please call me or email me [email protected] my name is umair i m from pakistan my number is 0092345522816

hello mr majid sorry for my late respond,u sed if d infra red was soft wear or physical? the answer to ur qust is that the infra red is gaining some excaped current from the set so u just have to remove it so that current will not be consumed by that light, it is manufactural error, so just go to www.sendosmartphones.com and download the dis mantling gaud to aid u in getting to the infrared light itself[my mail [email protected] in case u want some more addvice.

I bought this fone about 4 weeks ago and believe me i love it....right now i have got a 256MB SD on it....i have got loads of symbian apps(1.0) running on it...i customize my ringtones in .wav format using wave editors and conveters..which means u can never hear em anywhere else.....the earphones are magnificient...stereo output....i dont really care about infrared cos its slow and old...the bluetooth feature is enough and it works for me.....i dont think i need anythg else.....in my opinion his fone performs quite well or even better than its contemporaries.....

Hi, All thanks to SENDO, i Really love the phone i am just about getting mine this week by GOD'S grace. But the major problem i have with it is that i was told by some friends using it that the phone is short circuiting, meaning that the infarred always 'ON' and i it usually hot after sometime. can u plz work on it . i would apreciate if some additional features could be added to the phone like 'Radio FM' and most especial the short circuiting problem . Try to reinstall your OS from the cd kigho, that might fix the problem. But other than that the call records should be active always.

I love my X phone, have had it a year, never had problems with the IR or maybe I did and didnt realize it, anyways I hooked it up to my pc and updated the OS, maybe that fixed it. The mp3 was the main reason for buying it and all i have to say is with 1gb sd card this phone rocks, you can set up a playlist with your songs and I love the repeat function on it. You get a call, just get go back to your mp3 and resume afterwards. PS: Tip make a shortcut for the mp3 on your initial pane screen so you dont have to keep scrolling back and forth.

The phone is a very nice phone. I did like it lenght and the weight it really cool because I didnt like very light phones and I didnt like very heavy ones too. I only have one problem with this phone it is it inability to stay for a long time the battery easily gones down and the phone goes off. mp3's are not supported on sendo x as a ringtone but convert them in to wav is good as mp3.the infrared port doesn;t work it is a bug but you can fix it if you reinstall symbian (your IR won't work but it will shutdown and the buttery will work longer)or try install IR remote this will control IR port.

hi sunny your infrared is burning due to short circuit me and one of my friend have sendo x mine is working great but he had suffer from same problem as you you need to open the set and simply put your infrared out from the set and it will work great i have done it my self its an easy job you can download disassembling guide for sendo x from www.sendosmartphones.com wish you good luck

Infact the fone deserves it price cause it is cheap i had it for 70 pounds. i finnally left it for lg u8120 which also has an mp3 and mp4( not stated here)and same screen size almost same prize the fone is a major let down. it needs to be sent out of earth. don,t buy this fone cause u will regret it.

There is a mad rush for sendo X in Nigeria just like i read in one of these posts . I was attracted and was not willing to get any phone other than Sendo X. I sent for the phone in Lagos in hurry but furtunately, the guy went to the wrong place and sent me the price i wasn't ready to offer. I was unhappy at first cos i was disappointed since i was mad at having it instantly. I calmed down and decided to browse this comments, i was happy i did not buy it. Just look at it, about 80% of these comments condemn this phone. What will i do with a phone that discharges within 7hrs in a place where power supply is not guaranteed. I was attracted by the MP3 and almost infinite recording and tones but it seems there are too many problems about this phone both the ones i know how to operate and those i don't. I don't think i am going to buy this phone. I will rather go for samsung or Nokia. Can anyone tell me another phone that has Infrared and MP3. pls send it to [email protected]. dont bother with this fone beleive me...i bought the nokia 6600 first and loved the features but the onlything it was lacking was the looks(6600 looked like an egg) and flash..so i bought the sendo X...which had many problems like i could not unlock it at all also the accessories are very rare, the infrared dont work at all(with all sendo x) also camera quality is wierd becoz it has this night mode allways on and you cant zoom but when video recording you can(although quality is crap compared to 6600) also the 3gp does not play well on realplayer.....the loud speaker isnt that loud compared to other phones and its kinda bulky which reminds be of e1000....finally the joypad thing is not very ergonomic...joystick would have been good....thats all the bad points but there is good points like it can handle 2gb sd cards and not crash at all also some of the bad points could be gone(which i mentioned earlier) by flashing the phone for free via datacable. i am not upset buying that phone coz i bought it merely for �30 boxed up so it doesnt matter what happens to it coz i think its a disgrace to symibian s60(notorious for third party apps)

Want to have it work correctly? retrieve the Sendo X update, it works fine then, about the USB, reinstall, it might work, otherwise just buy a SD/MMC-card reader (for less then 10euros) and use this instead, then u can browse de stuff you downloaded trough the phone, good luck

Sendo...What?... 'X'. I guess dat means dey shuld 'x' d fone. Was using a SE K700 & left for d 'x'. At first everything was aight, so afterwards problems showed up. From inability to access menu, IR bugs, hanging of fone, low standby time even after charging 4 several hours (not caribbe), charging port problem (couldnt get a place to fix it. Cant name all. SOLUTION FOUND AT LAST FOR MY SENDO X Mail me back if your problem is solved. Thanks for your concern My phone was repaired by disconnecting the infrared port in the phone. The phone now functions normally. The problem before now was that the phone was heating up and the infrared light always on which led to the battery time to last only about one hour. Just say I should put this online because i have had a lot of complains about this Problem with other Sendo X users.

Generally a good phone. It does a lot of things for the money, however it has a lot of bugs in the software. Loaded latest software and helped a few things but still has issues. Slow loading pages, keypad not so confortable to use...and other that I can live with

is it possible to change the alarm ringtone? and is there any way to switch it off completely (particularly when the phone is OFF. I wish the task alarms could have reminder times (I'm thinking they sync the time set in Outlook but it is unchangeable on the phone?) Excellent phone. I've had mine for over a month and the only complaint I have is that sometimes is too slow and a little unstable when using applications designed for nokia. Other than that is great! Very good sound with earphones. Too bad Sendo is going out of business

The phone is great though! But dont you think that the programs and designs are quite an off-shoot or rather a scion on the Nokia family designs? ..and one more thing. the display sucks big time.looks like 15K display. the plastic from the cover makes the display color look all purple. the Led's..loks like candle light. in the key pad, those led's are so weak,the ,5,8,*,0,# keys don't have light... if you need to make 2 calls in a row, this phone won't let you because it's to damn slow. ohh well, i've learned my on cost..this is an amateur phone. sendo no more.

Listen up!! this is, off al time, the worst, and i mean ,worst, phone i ever had. it's is sooooooooo...slow. and the sofware it's all messed up. they send it up to market with the voice caller with a bug.. really, sendo just don't know how to make phones. and one more thing, if you'r in trouble, and you need to call to someone, it's better to have the number in your head..because the phone list takes a hell of a life time to open. believe me, this X phone will lt you down when you really need it..

I just bought this phone for $330 off ebay. I am in the USA with tmobile (gsm 1900mhz) and this phone gets much better reception than my old sony t610. I get reception in places I didn't have before. I don't get most of the problems that other people mention, I think people are just too picky about different brands of phones. I have the french firmware maybe thats why it has less problems? The only thing missing is a FM radio, it has everything else even a regular size MMC/SD slot which 75% othersmart phones use the rs-mmc (reduced size), my SD 256mb works on it. Overall its definately worth the money.

I just got the Sendo X and I have to say I'm quite disappointed. The OS runs very slowly. I haven't added any software updates so the memory on the phone has not been decreased significantly. My old 3650 was alot smoother. Hold on to your money beacuse I don't think it's worth it.

i know this is a smartphone, hahaha so WHAT! the design jus don't do it for me. and anyway it's just too rare. you can't buy this thing unless you are damn lucky. i wouldn't mind buying this because its a smartphone but that's it. nothing else is an excuse for this design. The keypad is just impossible. it's so not there.i mean lookat it. i think it's the only feature that flaws the phone and makes it not so attractive. how can you spped text with such a keypad? The Sendo X i bought on Ebay.de was original simlock free and not branded. It is an Europe version so it has to work in France, Holland, Germany etc. I'm from Holland and have no problems with Tmobile GPRS, MMS.

Bought it a week ago in Germany for about 450 euro (about 500 dollars). I think this is one of the best phones at the moment. It has a beauthiful 65K screen (very sharp and bright coloured). Menu works fine and fast. Also is the phone well done build (Samsung like quality). If you want one; look at ebay.de This Sendo X is as a girlfriend, you can't put your hands of it. The problem with this device as with the Neonode N1 is that by the time it get released the big players (Nokia/SE/Samsung) have released or are planning to release new more advanced models. The smartphone has a beautiful design, but sadly is missing radio and edge technology. Also it is missing the text-marker key which Nokia has on it's 6600/6620 (for cutting/copying/pasting text). Also it remains to see if all the Symbian/Nokia applications and N-Gage Games are working 100% on this device as on the Nokia 6600/6620. I am also looking forward to test the joystick and the keypad, how it compares to the Nokia. I would really like this phone, but I am afraid by the time it get on the market it is not state of the art anymore. Many models allready has edge/radio/mp3/bluetooth and wi-fi capabilities.. Also the phone will be released in only a few supported languages (according to Sendo), which is not good. Hurry up Sendo!!

pls do remember that the P900 is a sony OS and the sendoX is a windows OS thay are not the same... its hard to use sony OS (sometimes wen i had a videocamera the IP7 by sony its hard for me to convert it to vcd while the canon vedio camcorder its just plug n play)... while the windows OS just plug n play...

to tomy. Two major diffrences, it is 30g lighter, and has real keys instead of touch screen. I know p900 has that too, but it looks like shit with it on... This phone is smaller, looks better and can do all the same things. For me this is more a phone where P900 is more a PDA.

Honestly i'd like to say that this Sendo X designe is very intersting. This cellphone have Intergrated digital camera with flash (640x480). Got Bluetooth even HTLM broser with SSL and MPEG4 plus MP3 player. So sopicated with all technology that have in this cellphone. I'd belive that your technology going up very fast and so on about your handphone/cellphone technology. It make our life go easy when we've this kind of cellphone and this cellphone with high technology will change somebody life when somebody use it. Any way I hevent see this cellphone in my city Kuching, Sarawak. I wold request that if you side can sell it here (Kuching, Sarawak ). Maybe it is a good market here seem people here loking for new design handphone with new technology. Thank and bye.

WOW! it will be intresting to see if Orange Uk/Fr/Ch will take this phone on especialy when Sendo sued microsoft and Orange for stealing their tecnology Oh and Sx1 is delayed again any more delays and they will have to re-launch it as the siemens SX2 this X by sendo has got to be one of the nicest looking phones for years what nokia are doing is making them as ugly as possible see nolkia part of this site .....im still knocked out by its features maybe I will buy off-line as I am an Orange customer they only help you with a handset thats Orange Badged thats control freaks or they levy you with an upgrade fee . so I may use my O2 prepay sim and get all gprs and other add on sevices switched on as I hate the arogance some networks have when you have a problem with a handset like its our fault the hanset does not do what its says it does Sendo here I come!!!!

I think this is the phone to compete with SE P900, it has got all the features and more than a user would expect. I couldn't find any cons as i have read the specifications on official sendo website.
