Sharp GX30 - User Reviews

 • When I first got my hands on a GX20, I couldn't believe my eyes. When they released the GX30, I saved all my money and was SO happy when I finally bought it. Best phone ever. I've been a huge sharp fan ever since, owning phones like the Japanese 802SH and 903SH, a Docomo SH905i, T923 and last but not least my current SoftBank 007SH. It's a shame that since then, they've hidden from the western markets more and more, but they still rule in the spec space.

 • Just search on ebay.de. There you'll find some gx30. I had luck because I found a new one. I bought it from Germany and it was sent to me in Romania via DHL. Regards!

 • can I get a user manual/book (not download) for my wellbeloved Sharp GX30i

 • Good phone; had one for over 5 years, used it for about 2. Now I'd go back to it, from ultimate LG and Samsung touchscreen dual-core phones, if I'd had a good battery. Loved the simplicity and resistance. You could play football with it and it still runs perfectly. One of my favorite that I had.

 • Hi all I wonder is it possible to remove those annoying icons on main display? I don't even know what they mean. Like the one with envelope with letter "x" on it? Is it something related to MMS, SMS? And, how can i delete the icon for internet, with "!" mark on it? I suppose it's related to vodaphone, i tried to delete vodaphone account, but it's impossible.

 • Where in Switzerland can I buy a SHARP GX30 Silver Color Mobil Phone. I have one since 6 years and want an other new one.

 • i still got gx30i its the best phone ive had but unfortunitely battery not lasting now as i had it over 6yrs now. disappointing they discontinued as i would buy latest phone.

 • Great built quality (made in Japan)

 • Well it was one of the best phones I ever had. Solid built, 1Mpx camera, card, no crashes! It is still in my desk... lost my charger... in other way I'll give it to my child... The example how a phone should be built and work!

 • are you sure you are talking about the right gx30? because it didnt come out 10 years ago. it came out on 2004. 2009 - 2004 = 5 years. or did u just double the length of the time?

 • perfect phone! i using it for 5 years, i had new other phones rich of features, like sony ericsson etc but come back to my old sharp gx30 because its the best!

 • I fall in love with my old phone of sharp GX30 for 10 years but sad as I lost it.. I would like to know if any more moblie of my favourite Sharp GX30 round in Australia.. I really wants to buy other one again like this.. I don't want Sharp GX30 company or whatever, close down.. So want to know where can I get it from?? I can't find Sharp GX30 round in Australia Store.. eheh

 • i have had my sharp gx30i for 6 years and i have had no problems all my functions worked when i got it and they all still do grate phone if you ask me

 • I've had mine for at least 3 years, nothing wrong with it at all. Sharp makes great products.

 • The best composer ever!!! the battery runs fine if you don't use the camera much Also very durable-played rugby with it, dropped it from a two story building and still works fine!!!

 • This phone broke down less than a year of usage. I think sharp needs to work on electronics that can at least handle or hold against any weather situations.

 • This phone isn't good at all, the battery is empty rly fast, the bluetooth doesn't work, but the cam is ok.

 • the gx30 can only use bluetooth to use bluetooth headset or for modem,,www.vodafone .co.uk has a topic on all its fones settings etc

 • Does anyone knows how to fix a GX30 when it stops charging?

 • can i ask which century is this phone from?? i mean there are so many good sharp phones, why's there only this one??

 • Great phone!! I am going to miss it. Unfortunately I dropped it in a massive puddle and it was fully submerged for about 10 minutes but it still worked for about 7 months before it finally Rested.I.P So long my beloved phone!! I miss you lol

 • am again asking about my phone which cant even open the web in addition to sending or receiving anything through bloototh. pliz advise.

 • The problem is most likely the software. I have the GX30 Vodafone version, whose software is just awful! The bluetooth is more or less disabled, as you can only use it to connect to a headset. The same goes for the infrared port, which you can only use for the modem function of the phone. The reason why Vodafone did this is, of course, to increase profits from MMS. However, I've heard rumors of an update to overcome some issues... You should google it.

 • I reckon you've got a GX30, not a GX30i .....

 • My own opinion concerning this phone is that whenever i try to access to the internet, the phone cant open and also posses a problem when trying to send or receieve anything through the bloototh. pliza advise me on what is the [email protected].

 • There is no ptp bluetooth on this phone and the infrared doesnt work with data transfers i think or does it?

 • i cant understand what is happening to my i bout it from a friend fun thing is that i cant receive any ring tone course every time i try all i get is the data is too large. even a two minutes song i cant move any song from card what is happening? please help me i don't understand my self.

 • Help please - I've bought a GX30 from ebay and found it wont work with any of my SIM cards (including Vodafone). It just states 'Error in SIM-MEP' Does anyone know what this means and how to get rid of it? Unfortunately the seller wasn't the original owner and doesn't seem to be able to make contact with that owner. This was a replacement for my old GX30 which I have really enjoyed using. The camera is good quality and I particularly like to keys which are very easy to use. A good phone, if only the replacement would work..! Thanks

 • Can someone please help me. I bought my phone secondhand from ebay but I can't get it linked up to the internet to download anything. I just wondered if anyone can help? Many thanks Gail

 • does this phone have a torch???

 • I just brought a brand new battery for my phone because my last one got water damaged and now my phone wont work, what could be wrong with it????

 • The phone is good the camera is fantastic, but the Blue tooth infrared get damaged quickly and so does the Charging point. Iwill not mind using the phone again if all the parts work

 • you can easily upgrade the gx30 by flashing it with the 30i software it is really easy and free

 • Hi! Of course you can use MMC in a SD slot. It's impossible the other way around

 • hi everyone, I juz had it since a week ago from a fren in UK. I wanna ask that is it possible for this phone to support MMC card instead of SD card? Besides, why i cannot set MP3 as ringtone? Thanks

 • ive had fone nearly 2 yrs (well i give it to my dad) & it is still good picture taker but due to the 42 second poor video limit & bluetooth only work for haedset i give it to dad..Its about 18 months now that i emailed vodafone (uk) to ask or even pay to upgrade it to a gx30i to get the bluetooth fully activated & mp3 ringtones & diary function but they said that the f.c.c. recognised it as a brand new fone & had to go thru seperate testing classed as a new unit..I have n80 now after many,,many phones & i still reckon the pics off the gx30 rival this if not better for colour & vibrancy.have sharp 903 but its not very full of features & boring now but n80 customisable to high heaven

 • for those who have bluetooth problem: there are two versions of phone, namely gx30 and gx30i, the latter can exchange everything via bluetooth. pitiably gx30 bluetooth works ONLY with headset ! no way to do anything with that ! buy yourself SD card and SD reader for USB, the reader cost in Poland 5zl, wchich is less than 1 pound. take care

 • Hello. Ihave the Sharp GX 30 two year and have contiunaly problem : I can not exchange the dates with PC and other mobil tell. with Bluetooth option. Please can you tell me how I can risolved this problem Thank you. [email protected]

 • Hello there, I have had this phone for about 2 years and i have to say it's the best phone i have ever owned. Sharp have done a top notch job on dmaking this phone. I have been totally happy with it until up to now, i think it's just the ageing of the lithium battery but it just doesnt last as long as it used to. I chanrge it for like an hour and it will only last the day!!! Also the camera seems to be getting worse, the pictures seem blurry and the shutter lag seems to get longer everytime. Despite the faults this is an amazing phone and the only thing it's missing is a radio! Well basicly it's an awsome phone and i deffinatly reccomend it.

 • I've had this phone 4 a year & want to get rid of it, main problem is the camera.Everyone keeps saying how good it is but I can't get a picture that doesn't blur. Photo looks good until I take it & literally as soon as it clicks it blurs... It's a real shame because I think the actual screen on this phone is fantastic, but this problem is the main reason I wanna get a different phone...Like y'all I've tried many phones & haven't had this problem..Any help appreciated..ta

Amazing

 • I have had this phone for two years. It is overall great. Best screen I have ever used. Photos look really good. Takes great photos too. Bit slow sending and receiving photos. Annoying texting - dictionary sucks and won't learn new words well. Reliable, strong, still going well two years later. Highly reccommended!

 • I bought this phone last week new, and really like it however - i put about 20 songs on the MMC card i have to listen to - but it repeats the songs - so after every song i need to come out of MP3 and choose the next song - surely there is a way to do listen without me having to do this ? please help thanks, Luke

 • What part of the menu do i go to get my mp3's working on my gx30i? e-mail me with your help.

 • i was wandering what is the easiest way to put mp3's on this fone?

 • Hey...why do you all love this phone this much? I think this phone has many many wrong sides...The volume of the mp3's is to small, the pics putted on the PC are not faboulous...like other phones...the video recording sucks, the transmission also bad, the battery life...:( sucks also.

 • Hi Stevie UK. If you have the Sharp GX30 (not GX30i) you can only use the bluetooth to connect your mobile to a headset. This is a total let down in terms of the phone's overall spec. If u have a GX30i you 'can' transfer data between mobiles, however the amount in any one transfer is limited (to 150kb I think). Perhaps vodafone were trying to force us to use costly MMS to send files but I don't really know. If you have a card reader for your pc then you can use that to put files on your phone's SD card. If you really want to transfer files between mobiles though (and many people do) then all I can suggest is getting a different phone. If anyone thinks this is wrong plz let me know :-)

 • it is an overall great phone but if anything tne battery life could be better

 • can you upgrade your card to store more mp3s and video's ? ANd if you can how much would it cost ?

 • i have a gx30i and it is great, one of the best phones ive had but one problem, the external display sometimes goes white in colour, you can still see the picture it just looks as though it is faded or something, does this happen to anyone else? great phone overall but disappointed with battery life, video quality and the fact the outside gets scratched so easily, especially the chrome parts but probably could be touched up with chrome paint or new housing. anyway that is my opinion.

 • it is one of the best Sharp phone!! god i love it!!

 • I love my GX30, it's clean whit good big screen. I wonder if I can upgrade my Sharp to a new version or GX30i version?

 • It's a very good mobile. I'm very pleased with it. But i have one problem: How can i upgrade my Sharp GX-30 to -i version ?

 • gx30 looks great and has many features like mp3 player, buetooth and good camera but it's so slow!If U use a memory card and U wanna see some pics which are bigger than 200KB U have to wait and wait what's really borring. And what about ringtones- just SMAFF nothing else.In these days U can convert mpeg or avi to 3gpp or mpeg4 to watch it in your mobile but GX30 offers just 400KB of video playback anything bigger can't be opened - WHY?The last thing why I wouldn't buy that it's terrible sound comming out from MP3 player - if U turn a volume up treble is really annoying.

 • can these phones or gx30is take 1 gb sd memory cards? thanx

 • I'd like gx30,but have some questions.I put some mp3 files on mmc card, but it look's like that is limit 2mb per song,if is song higher capacity,it wont play it.If some1 can answer me i'll very appreciate that.10x

Can i do anything ? change the top or something? I'm very pleased with my mobile altough the battery life is not the best ,,,well i talk a lot also. ...but the quality of the pic really makes me forget this.... sometimes.

 • Hi. I shall now write a review on the Sharp Gx30 and say what i think is good and bad about the phone. Good Points * The screen quality. The quality of the screen, is the best i have seen on a phone. I have had loads of phones now and this is my latest conquest. I have always wanted this phone because i knew it would be great but it was always too expensive. Anyway, now i have it and for me the screen is the first standout feature. * Camera quality - Once again, like screen, camera is of great quality. Best seen on a mobile phone ever. The detailing is amazing and the camera is easily the best feature - along with the screen - on the phone. There is a macro switch on the handset which helps to take pictures that are less than 10cm away. It's great for picking up on detail. * Nice size. I really like the size and weight of this phone. I was suprised at how light the phone feels in the hand and i like the size too. It feels solid and sturdy and adds to the quality feel. * The phone looks very simple, which i believe is a good thing. It has lots of small nice things which build up to an overall aesthetically pleasing finish. The chrome that runs around the camera lens and speaker, and around the top flip sets the phone off great. * Memory expansion. The phone comes with a memory card and gives the user the option to enlarge. I like the fact that the memory can be switched without having to turn the phone off and removing the battery. * Keypad - the keypad on the GX30 is nice and large, and is good for texting on. The keys have a green backlight which i dont really like as its kind of old Nokia style, but its not very strong unless your in a very dim lit area. * Flash light - Love this! It's a really great circle light which acts as an indicator for when calls and texts are incoming, and also serves as a flash light for the camera. Lots of colours to choose from as well as a 'disco' setting. * Finally the features of the phone are very good. MP3, bluetooth, infared, (although both are limited), 1 mp camera, video record etc. The phone does everything and it does it well too more importantly. As i said my favourite feature is easily the camera and screen, and i just like the look and feel of the phone. It's a great buy if you can take the downfalls.... Bad Points - Text speed. This is one of them things that puts me off buying a phone so much. I text a lot, and i am very quick at inputting. So when a phone does not keep up with me i find it very annoying - and sadly this is one of the GX30's major problems. Now for most people it wont be a big issue because some may not be really fast, but i am and thats why i am frustrated. Texting is easy to input - just like Nokia, but it lags a little, whereas navigation everywhere else in the phone is extremely quick. - Its on Vodafone. I hate Vodafone personally. I never get signal where i live, they give you nothing for free, and texting and calling others is a rip off. But thats something that i have sacrificed for this phone. Am i regretting it yet? A little, but i will get over it. - Becuase the phone is on Vodafone, you get the Vodafone UI, which can be annoying, but i think its ok. Yes its not as good as the colour book that Samsung offer, but we cant have everything. - Bluetooth and infa-red, are limited. You cant transfer or recieve by these methods which is a bit of a joke, but if it bothers you so much, get the 'i' version. Well that is about it! They are my major pros and cons of the Sharp GX30. All in all, i am very pleased with my handset and think i will continue to be if the texting doesnt get to me. I hope this helps some people in their decision to buy the phone. Mark, Age 17

 • GX40 info & pics can be found here: http://www.mobile-review.com/articles/2005/sharp-new-en.shtml

 • its great,a fantastic screen with pixel free display, very good photos when printed out ,lots of storage, good mp3 quite lucid thru speaker, fair enough batt, disco light fairly effective and looks very classy.its not perfect in some respect but as a camera phone its nigh on perfect

 • I like my GX30-I got it cheap, second hand. Glad I didn't pay full price though cus feature wise its very disappointing for what is supposed to be a 'premium' mobile. Where's the irda/bluetooth data transfer for pics, videos etc? Where are the mp3 ringtones? Where does all the battery life go? How come the camera and video modes become horribly blurred by the slightest of movements? It does have the best screen of any mobile new or old and camera quality is also excellent. This could be about the best mobile out there, even now, but it's been needlessly crippled. Can anyone plz tell me if any of these problems have been fixed on the GX30'i'.

 • There is a way 2 put games on ur sharp. there is a program called polyphonic wizard and it treats ur computer as a wap browser anablin 2 download as many games as u wish 4 free. second of all. Error 500 means that the phone was not able 2 connect 2 vodafone live. After putting the correct settings 4 wap u r able 2 connect threw bookmarks

 • it's very good even the best picture screen on the market even better then d500 screen it's still got a high price on it 200 pounds in the vodaphone shops sharp best screen's ever

 • Lovely phone indeed.Excellent pictures, perfect design, but it's software needs update. Why should I keep it on all night just to ring the alarm? Why should I erase one by one the calls I made?Vodafone doesn't do anything, but sharp?

 • Great picture quality, royal pain in the backside getting any other functions accessed asap. Although I've had a 20, 30 and 30i, Sharp have invested too much into the picture quality and not a lot into the functionality of the phone. Feels like a pack of cigarettes when in pocket! Sort it Sharp.. Shame really..

 • Without a doubt, the best phone I've ever had. Even turned down a free upgrade to keep this one. Excellent photo quality, great menu system, and looks good too. Love it!

 • AAnn well i had my Sharp GX30i not GX30. Its a great phone , fantastic. Takes very nice pictures.now im interested in buying an SD card , just wana know can it support 1GB or not. Any kind a help will be appriciated. :)

 • This is the BEST phone I have EVER had. End of story.

 • i am getting 1 in half a nour is it any good

 • This has been a reliable phone for me in the last year. It's robust and unbreakable although a bit dated. Realiabilty 10/10 looks 4/10.

 • and dont you just hate that vodaphone layout menu i hate that on vodaphone phones, ive got the gx15 omg DONT EVER BUY IT they say its a good phone apart from memory, yeah the memory is 1.8mb 16 x 20 sec vid clips is all it can handle

 • lol just bin the phone the day you buy it, it is still exspensive i would sooner get the 6230 maybe getting on a bit but what a phone

 • This phone has a good camera, but if you wanted a good camera you would buy a digital camera anyways! There are not many other good features about it! Pretty much i HATE it! The buttons are annoying to type text messages with! it is also quite large, the antenna is bloody annoying! Scratches to easy and gets dust and crap in the Loud Speaker(Next to the camera)! I wouldnt recommend it to my dog!

 • hi there... anyone used more than 512mb sd card on the phone before? can use 1gb sd card?? thanks

 • sorry about my last message. the bluetooth problem is a vodaphone problem, they want you to pay very expensive mms charges to send a tune or sumat to you buddy in the next room.....bluetooth should not be blocked , free bluetooth ......!!!!!!

 • no offence but i lost my money on that phone and it is so bad so i finally decided to buy nokia 6630 i t is the best phone ever

 • honestly tango most of the features are in the stone age..............

 • whooooops tango , did you spend all your pocket money on this limited phone, plus the bluetooth is useless . maybe you could trade it for a my x 8.

 • to tango! yes we all know about sd, (by the way you can only use a half gig card in the "GX30".) thats maybe an extra 40.00 on top. my point is that 6 mb is rubbish for internal memory. whats that a couple of mp3 tunes, not even that.

 • The GX30 can NOT use the bluetooth to send and recive pictures and mp3's. Headset only...

 • I have just bought a GX30 but....I dont no how to use the bluetooth on it ! can any 1 help me ! I know how to search for other phones but i done no HOW to send or even recieve ! thansk

 • heard that from its manual...it can only support up to 512mb SD card?

 • To Pete! This phone can accept SD memory cards, therefore able to expand its memory upto 2GB so why dont you check the lable before you open your big fat mouth and bring opinions of your own that make no sense at all!

 • hi , i want to know where i can repai my GX30 big screen. let me know as soon as possible.

 • You can put memorycard in the phone!

 • what only 6 Mb internal memory, whats this , its AD 2005 isnt it. I have seen more design in a washing machine than in the gx30. the SAGEM MYX8 has 40 Mb of int memory. enough said.

 • i wanna buy this phone online and i cant seem to get it in dollars were can i get it in the us shops cos it not at ebay and elsewere pls give me a reply soon thanks zaza

 • I like the style of this phone but some of its features are not so good e.g sound is poor vidio's not all that with vodapone. Has anybody seen the softwear for remote desktop on my phone if so chould you get it to work i cant.thanx

 • The video recording length (longest) is 400KB, which comes out to about 2 minutes in "Fine" mode. Even if you are using a 512MB SD card you cannot make the video recording longer. It's set to 400KB. If you want unlimited video recording, get the 902SH.

 • im thinking about getting this phone how long does it video for and does it come in pay as you go and for how much?

 • Photos are clear and videos are gud cool phone

 • I luv my gx30 i just got it yesterday and i luv it bluetooth and infared excellent and tones sound awesome, only downside is have to find a sd card reader 2 connect to comp so i can get mp3s on my fone but other than that luv it!

 • I've purchase this unlocked GX32 for over one year and it has worked flawlessly with T-mobile. SMS, Email, Picture, all works fine! I wish the battery would last a little longer, but no problem I usually carry an extra battery!

 • Funny to see how many people are crying for the bluetooth and IR, u didnt know it wasnt working, did u drop ur self from heavens? Come on, its a sharp made for vodafone, what did u expected? Ask before u buy, unless u have money to throw. I am trying to convince my sis to make a software update, she thinks its not safe. Anyone had a problem(crash or smth) after upgrading? (or even heard about that,or its just trash sharp talk,to make us keep feeding vodafone?)

 • Whoever buys the GX30i for 400 Pounds is seriously crazy.... You can get it on EBay for AU$300 which is seriously underpriced for this phone. Sure, the features aren't the world, but you've got bluetooth, an exceptional camera, awesome screen and great durabilty and fuctionality. The music sounds great and I would not complain...I can't wait for the GX40 though...if that will every be reality.

 • I bought well I can't say bought I got the Sharp GX30i on contract for FREE!. From Vodafone I was getting annoyed of running out of credit on my previous phone the Sharp GX10. I paid 350 for the GX10 and I thought after 2 years of having it I needed an upgrade. I don't mind Sharp phones I hate Nokia cause everyone has them nowadays and I wanted to have different mobile. I really purchased it cause it an upgrade from the GX10 had better features and the 1 mega pixel camera seemed cool too. The camera is ace during the day and night time's are good as well has an inbuilt flash, MP3 player although MP3 files can't be used as ringtones like vodafone said it did. Supports video messaging, Java games basically what the GX10 did but better.

 • I'm considering GX32. Yet I need some clarifications. Any help would be appreciated! 1) Does GX32 support full bluetooth? 2) How's the battery life? 3) How's the reception? 4) And what about durability? Thank you soooo much!!

 • Paid 400 for fone with substandard features. How does that make us feel? I will never buy another Sharp product as long as i live. I THINK EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN CONNED SHOULD DDO THE SAME.

 • at first i also had problem with finding ringtones, you must go on profiles then take for example take normal go on options (down-left corner), then personalise and there you have ringtones to choose

 • i hav jus received the sharp gx30i today and the one thing i cannot seem to find is any ringtones that has been said it has..iv bn in all the menus..i must sound like a right idiot..bt can sum1 tell me where they r??..

 • nice phone but i have had it unlocked to any network, could anyone help with the wap settings/mms settings as im having trouble sending any pictures, im using a orangs sim card pay as you go!

 • I don't have GX30, but I think MMF ringtones are working whit it! But I don't know, how the quality is!

 • hello, i have this phone for about 6 months, gx30i is a nice phone, but i have a problem, what is the best format for ringtone? MP3 and AMR can't be set as a ringtone, so I use MIDI format, what format do you use?

 • Please write down the differences, pro's and contra's between D500 and GX30, when you buyed the Samsung! Thanks! I think that GX30i is much better then GX30!

 • I have had the gx30 for well over 12 months now, and it has served me reasonably well without. I am buying the Samsung D500 today, just for a change. Annoying little bits about this phone are: The bluetooth and infrared dont work. The Screen takes over a second to turn on when the phone is flipped open, it takes too long to open and very difficult to browse your pictures. I would not reccomend this phone

 • can i transfer music from my pc to this phone, ive just bought a data cable for this phone and i can only transfer music files that are a certain size, i thought you could transfer full length mp3s. can anyone help me thanks alot Tom

 • ey guys if this phone video with ring?

 • hey u guys, can anyone tell me if the videos that u recorded with this phone lag?

 • Trouble getting rid of WAP Alert? (Globe with red exclamation mark) You need to open the web browser by accessing a bookmark or Vodafone live! in your phone, and then go to Options -> Advanced -> Alert Inbox, and from there you can view and delete the message

 • DB the problem is simple, you have put the phone on silent ring. To turn it off goto 'Profiles' and select 'Normal'. The musical note will dissapear and hey presto you can hear ringtones when it rings !

 • can anybody tell me how to set an mp3 as a rigntone on this gx30? i heard youy can some how.

 • THIS PHONE'S IRRITATING! There's this crap icon on the screen of a little phone with a musical note at the top-right corner of it, that has a line through it. I can't find it in the manual and have no idea how to turn it off! Can anyone help! PLEASE! :/

 • can the gx30i support file transfer via bluetooth? im having trouble sending files from my pc to my handset. can you help me?

 • longer you have this phone the more annoying it gets. plus its plauged by software problems wherby it turns itsself off!

 • Copy#pasted from SHARP site.... Sharp are not able to provide the software upgrade for a GX30 handset to become a GX30i. There has been some minor hardware changes to the GX30i, this unfortunately means that GX30i software cannot be flashed into a GX30 under any circumstances, as this could cause operational problems with the handset and would also mean that the handset is no longer approved for connection to the network. The GX30 & GX30i models have been declared to the certification authorities as two separate phones and the GX30i has been separately type approved as a product variant. Therefore, software is not interchangeable between the two phones, since the GX30i software has not been certified on the GX30. A software upgrade of a GX30 handset with GX30i software would result in legal and regulatory implications.

 • Soz, let me rephrase that first sentence on my previous comment. Hi guys cant wait forever for the gx40/42 :P

 • Hi guys can wait for every for gx40/42, thats if they exist :S. But the gx32 looks like a nice sub for the mean time, just wanted to know if there is such thing as gx32i like its cousin the gx30i that has full bluetooth. If so how can you distinguish between the gx32 and 32i is 8 mb instead of 6 mb on board mem a factor??? THANKS

 • In Belgium 'Proximus' doesn't sell the GX30i. But all SHARP phones being sold by Proximus and like all Governement facilities they don't think commercial. Even some sellers doesn't know the GX30i. My good.....

 • I have had the GX30 for a few months now and I LUV the screen, mp3s and Camera! The screen is the highest resolving and brightest under the current 256K 230x240's. This model is over 1 year old and for it's time the Camera and Screen were the BEST. I'm very much anticipating the GX40 and hope that the Camera will be even clearer, the screen can stay the same, Bluetooth and IrDA will be unlocked by default and that it may have some good managing functions. Overall Sharp lacks good software, but I'm sure they will fix that in the future. Does anyone have news on the GX40?

 • greatest phone

 • I forget this: -Vcard and Vcalendar is avaliable in gx30i

 • Differences between gx30 and gx30i: -IR and BT unlocked, you can send and receive things on both -Calendar is much better in gx30i

 • I am disappointed this GSM for the price, the possibilities would have being much more complete. Bluetooth connection is usable only for the free hand or the auricle. IR is not usable for transfer GSM towards GSM.

 • man i had this phone for only 4 days and i sold it on ebay already. those features aren't fully functional and that so-called mp3 ringtones?! u can't even transfer anything that's over 100k. other than the picture quality, this phone is no different from a regular quad-band phone... take my word for it, go for sony ericsson or nokia.

 • Crap! Crap! Crap!!!! CRAP!!! Nothing works on this fone!!!!!! The company says too many things about its specifications, but the half of them work. Also it's very pricey. I sold it and I bought a Nokia one. CRAP!!!

 • I like this phone, but the sound quality is not very good. I only like the screen resolution but I still considering a very expensive mobile phone. Take my advice. Buy something more famous, for instance NOKIA, Motorola or Samsung

 • The sharp gx30 is probably the most stylish mobile phone on the market.Once you have used a sharp handset you wont want any other brand of phone again. The picture quality is second to none and the sound is top quality too.Take my advice buy the sharp gx30 You wont be disapointed

 • hello i've just got the gx30 why can you not down load things like crazyfrog or other vid's please help ????

 • Doesnt anyone read the manuals anymore?

 • The video recording maximum capacity for the GX30/32 is 400 kb (about 1 minute and 10 seconds). The difference between the GX30 and GX30i is the GX 30 has bluetooth for headset only. The GX30i has full bluetooth.

 • no matter how big your memory card is the video recording time on the GX30/32 is about 1.5 minutes (300K) There is no way to make the recording longer on this unit. If you want unlimited recording time consider getting a 902, it'll record up to 2 hours on a 1GB SD card.

 • How long does the memory card records(video)?

 • it is crap coz the bluetooth dont work,

 • Hy I just bought a Sharp gx30 and its a very good phone. But i have one question can I record more than 400kb?I realy need that info. Thanks

 • I've had this phone since it was released a year ago. It's taken a whole year for me to even consider replacing it!! The GX30 is a quality phone, only recently have other phones given it any competition.

 • I still can't make the MP3 player on the GX32 to work... Wonder why they would have to make things so complicated to just listen to music on the phone. The Sharp V801SH can record and playback music so easily and it even record via optical jack from CD player, now that's high quality. I think I'll just dump my GX32 and stick with the V801SH and V902SH both Japanese version. The V801SH cannot be unlocked but the V902SH can be unlocked. The UK version of the 902 is junk. Don't spend big money on the unlocked version of the 902 to use in the US.

 • could anyone tell me what's diff between GX30 and GX30i ??

 • compared to the samsung d500 which fares best considering the camera functions and image quality??

 • Three thumbs up for this phone love the extra space with the memory card, well done sharp

 • I have downloaded on my pc tons of games 4 the sharp gx30 but the headset doesn have the option of loadin them. Can anyone please tell me what should I do. And second problem whenever i try 2 log 2 the wap he displays 500 error occured please contact custumers care. Any1 knows what it means

 • Had the gx30 for almost a year now and am now saying goodbye thank you gx30 you are truely a lovely phone but the d500 is just better :) and to the last message you can't upgrade it to play hr film , wihs ya could 400kb max im affraid :(

 • This is a great phone,i`ve had lots of phones but this is by far the best, the memory card makes it really easy to download your pictures + you can upgrade the card to hold as much as you like, picture quality is excelent as is the streaming video, which can be upgraded to do a 4hr film,

 • i must say i have wanted this phone for ages! but now that i have it i really dont think its all too good! this phone only has a small memory compared with the d500! for some reason mp3's cannot be transfered to this phoneor even downloaded! now this is the main reason that i boght this phone as i thought it would play mp3's as this is wot it said on the box! Not impressed with this phone at all! the disco lights on it are cool tho! the camera is fantastic but i jus wish it'd have a better memory on it!

 • A good succesor to the gx20.Camera is great(1mp) and the mp3 player has a good quality playback. It also takes mmc cards which is handy. But the connectivity is still a dissapointment.Cant tranfer files via bt/ir from another mobile device.

 • i whant to buy this phone!!! please help me....i'm disperat!!!!!Gaby

 • God, not everyone wants stupid bt you know. We don't all have a use for it.

 • can anyone please tell me if it possible to transfer files via IR? i know that the Bluetooth is blocked. but what about the IR?

 • The GX30 is out of date the new version is GX30i which has full bluetooth. Why would anyone still sell/buy the GX30 when the GX30i is out?

 • Wave and MP3 format files cannot be used as rintones on this phone according to the manual. Also this phone only accepts bluetooth devices of a handsfree set and a car kit.

 • super cam n mp3 n this is what i call a hp n it should be release in singapore because we singaporean loved new new phones n hope sharp will open their sales here

 • thank u so very much

 • make a message with the words u wont to add and save it to drafts... then delete it straight afterwards. All the words you used should stay in the T9 :)

 • is it true that u cannot add words to the T9 dictionairy. If that's true, it's a real pity because it seems to be a good phone...

 • a friend of mine has just baught the GX30i he lives in Australia and is signed up with vodaphone. the phone *cannot* access the the sd card or USB from the games browser, forcing you to download the games over wap only!

 • Well, when I tried to transfer my phonebook from my T610 via BT, it would not work. It couldn't connect to the card...or something like that. Had also trouble using BT to send pics over. Just wondering if this problem was specific to the model or just the phone I had.

 • What do you mean you have trouble with moving your phone book? Do you mean moving it to the computer? You have to be patient it takes awhile.

 • If the choice were between the Gx30i and the D500, what would one prefer? I am debating the choice. One thing about the GX30i is the limited (100k) blue tooth data transfer that I am concerned about? Had trouble moving my phone book. Any one have issues like that? Any help would be great.

 • Try turning the phone off and then turning the phone on again. I had a similar problem and it worked for me. GX30 in Malaysia I think it is branded as GX32 which is the Asian market version. For MP3 files you need to put them in the "sounds" folder of your memory card.

 • not really a comment... more of a help request. i got this stupid WAP alert thingy sent to me (or atleast i think thats what it is), but i cant delete it.. when the phone is closed it constantly looks like i have an unread message. when phone is open it looks like..er.. a world with an " ! " infront of it. can anyone help me delete it as it is most annoying. [email protected] many thx, - - - robert - - -

 • Please someone help me out i got a SD reader and i wanna put songz on my phone, (mp3's), where do i copy the file into? whih folder i tried every folder and it aint working

 • is the malaysian model call GX27? anyone know how much is it in malaysia now?

 • Magic phone! Just bought it, and its totally bonkers! Only got it coz i couldn't quite afford a Moto Razer V3, but this thing is so much better in the real world! Oh yeah, whoever says you get a 560mb SD card is speaking through their ass! As said before: 8mb, 16mb, 32mb, 64mb, 128mb, 256mb, 512mb, 1.0GB; and a new 2.0GB one may be out soon from Panasonic! That will give the MP3 player 500-ish songs won't it? Bitchin!

 • I'm sorry, but the Sharp GX30i is still pants the screen and picture quality are great granted, but there is just too many limitations put on the damn thing.

 • i using the GX32. the MP3 cant play because u putting into the wrong file. U need to put the MP3 song inside the sound folder then only can play...haha..

 • OK, thanks i'll try what you mentioned, putting into the "sound" folder.

 • I have the GX30i and I am in Australia. I think the GX32 is the same with GX30 but GX32 is for the Asian market. I downloaded some MP3 files once and it didn't show I had it in my phone. Then I realised I was doing something wrong, I didn't drag the MP3 files into the sound folders of the GX30i so the files are in the memory card but not in the sounds folder. When I looked at the memory status of the card in the phone the files were filling the "Others" folder. Which means the MP3 player cannot read. So if you put the MP3 files in the "Sounds" folder I'll guarantee you it will play on the MP3 player.

 • I got the GX32. When I record MP3 directly to the SD card the GX32 won't play it back, it doesn't even show the MP3 file is there? anyone know what I'm doing wrong???

 • I live in US and wondering where can I purchase a GX30i? ebay have only gx 32/30. It will work in the US right? thanks guys!!

 • Bluetooth cannot access the memory card and is limited to data transfer of a maximum 100kb. It's a pity coz the phone can accept a memory card of up to 1 Gb. Great camera and great pictures though!

 • plz.. anyone??? plz help me to get GX30i.. must got d 'i' got i need full bluetooth..

 • I've got the GX30i which has full bluetooth. It's a great phone and I got a 128Mb SD card in it and I can store more than 30 songs on the MP3 player. The only let downs are the handset memory can only download a max of 100 kb of sound files and picture files and the video player can play a max of 400 kb(up to a minute)video playback. What's the point if you can put a 512 Mb memory card in the phone with those limitations. But the pictures are of great quality! You need a SD card reader/writer to download MP3 songs to your memory card! Great phone though.

 • then i'm so sorry jojo.. b.coz i'm using a pocket pc too.. need to have the full bluetooth function to connect to my pocket pc.. so anyone in m'sia or s'pore selling?? plz plz.. may email me.. tq

 • i wish i have this phone (sharp gx30)

 • There are no 560MB SD card. 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB from Sandisk, never hear of an 560MB card.

 • Still I think the display and the camera of this phone is the best! the screen is pretty bright and cystal clear.

 • quote from before: "if u get a 560mb card u can download MOVIES i got bad boys 2" Can someone please verify this. Sorry if this was mentioned before. But please verify this for me, I'm about to buy a phone that could do this, and the GX32 seems to be the only candidate that could do the job. P.S In my country , only GX32 unlocked is offered. Other than limited bluetooth, any shortcomings?

 • Well, then I have no idea cuz it's working so well with mine. And to transfer a mp3 file into SD card by PC, all you have to do is just be sure that your SD card is properly plugged in the reader and then copy mp3 files onto the folder "SOUNDS"(no quote)in your SD Card(after doiing a format by GX32 of course) then you are done just put back your SD card to the phone and enjoy the mood of music:)

 • can the sharp gx30 i and the sharp gx25 be used in india ....and how much does it cost in dollars $$

 • Go: I formatted the SD card and recorded the SD card via V801SH. Still the GX32 won't play... Anything else you can think of? How do I record MP3 to SD card using my PC? I have a SD card reader/writer (that's what is says) but I really don't know how to record from PC to SD card, any help would be appreciated

 • HoPaOTaN, I am afraid not,coz it's GX32 no "i" so the bluetooth can only be used with the handset and also as well as the ringtone issue.

 • Jojo.. $350 in USD issit?? issit with full bluetooth and mp3 ringtones??

 • Thanks GO, I'll try to format the SD card and try is again!

 • if is's a mp3 file, the phone is supposed to be reading it mayne you should try to format the SD card first.

 • I recorded music on the V801SH and tried to play it back on the GX32 but it won't read it. I thought it gets recorded in MP3 format when I record to the V801SH, what's wrong? Any other ways to write music to SD card tha the GX32 will read???

 • I got my phone a week ago, and am quite happy with it. Though battery life complaints are true - plus last night the battery just died on me. No warning beeps like my old Siemens did to say the battery was dying. It just turned itself off. Have now just set up car charger so can continually charge it whenever I'm on the road so I hopefully dont have that problem again. Hrvoje - 2) Profile, Option, Personalise, scroll down to Message Alert, click on Text, Sound, and away you go! 4) Profile, Option, Personalise, click on Vibration, then make sure "on and link to sound" is set. (Not sure about 1 and 3, sorry. Strange that 3 isnt working properly for you. Mine works fine) All in all, I have found the phone easy to use, and its a nice one to text on (buttons are easy to push, not stiff like some phones). Just one thing - if the T9 doesnt recognise a word, is there a quicker way to enter in a new word, other than going Options, Input Method, changing to normal typing, typing out the word - then having to do that all again to turn T9 back on after?

 • HoPaOTaN I am in HK and my friend is willing to sell it for $350.

 • Jojo.. i am from malaysia.. are u?? and i really looking for GX30i.. coz without 'i' there is no full bluetooth and no mp3 ringtones too... but how much u r selling??

 • Right, can someone please help me with this bloody video player?! I used to have a Nokia 6600 and hence could use Nokia's Multimedia Converter to convert to .3gp files. The files I convert now will not work in my GX30i. I have tried to find a program that will convert avi and mpegs to .mp4, but to no avail! Please drop me a mail if you have a clue of whereabouts to get software like this (that I don't have to pay for cos I'm cheap!!!) Cheers ta.

 • Can the gx30i with the improved bluetooth and infrared transfer files to other brand phones? My girlfriend has a k500i, therefore I really need that function

 • quit griping about battery life! None of them are "as advertised" They are tested at a room temperature and in the best of condition. If you live in a hot or cold country, battery life will dramatically be reduced. Why don't you buy a huge Nokia phone and lug that around!

 • my answer to you my friend, is if youre happy with a c**p phone then good luck to you......i dont want to particularly lug spare batteries round in my pocket....the battery life should be what they claim !!!!!!!!!1

 • hey i just got this phone, i want to be able to use the MP3 player but not sure how, do i need to get a wire so i can download music onto my phone from the internet? thanx sorry i dnt no much about this sort of stuff, wud b great if you can help

 • stop complaining and get a couple of extra batteries if your not so cheap!

 • i agree with flash......i've just got this GX30i and your lucky to get 2 days between charges and thats not using it a lot !!! - battery life is s**t ! - also navigating round it is tooooo much hassle - give me a nokia anyday!!! - whats the Samsung D500 like anyone tell me? - cheers

 • wasting your time transferring via b/tooth its only 399kb limit plus your battery disintegrates even faster.its poor go for the d500 if you dont mind it been 80mb of fixed memory.its price is coming down.i have the gx30i but wished id got d500 thats all i can feasably say

 • just in inquiring on the price of the gx30i, and the amount of mega pixels in the camera?

 • thanks for the info. how about transfering something through bluetooth or infrared to another phone? can you send an mp3 song to another phone?

 • The 30K or 100K data tranfer switch is how much data you can send via MMS (Multi Media Service). If you keep it at 100K, then if you send a picture message you can send a better resolution picture. It all depends on your carrier if they support up to 100K data transfer via MMS. Some carrier only can support 30K of data at one time so check with your present carrier to see what data transfer rate you can use.

 • Can anyone tell me about the "100Kb data transfer limit"? I mean what can and can't you transfer with that. Although the new gx30i have full bluetooth, but if it has the same 100Kb data transfer limit, does that mean it can only transfer pictures?

 • This Phone makes a Brilliant Camera, But I am dissapointed about the rest of the Features. I Hope the New Sharp Model will inprove on its Features.

 • This phone has a really awesome camera!! That's the only good thing about it...apart from that it sucks, especially on battery power!

 • "where can you buy a gx30i?" Try here :

 • where can you buy a gx30i?

 • Well, I just sold my k700i. Wanted GX30 in the first place but bought the k700i before the gx30 had a discount. Anyways, I'm still interested. Is the GX30i with the new bluetooth version much better? P.S Nothing wrong with k700i, but gx30 looks better. Although I was pissed with the difficulty of k700i software(data transfer, couldn't get it to work). Would gx30 be the same or better. Your help is greatly appreciated.

 • how do i pair with some one on bluetooth? please help. chris

 • Definantley in my professional opinion the NOKIA 7610 is a far better unit, easier to purchase accessories, easier to use, it comes with the data cable and software i just wish it would get me a scooey!!!!!YEEEEOOOOWWWW!

 • bluetooth works just fine with any brand like motorola. you don't know how to use it

 • the phone is good but the bluetooth on it is rubbish, u can only search for devices not actually interact with them.

 • which phones video rec or music player works better

 • personal preference but for a lot of people the GX30/32. The main display of the GX30/32 is 256K color, but the 7610 is only 65K color screen. The shape of the Nokia is akward... I'll get the Sharp

 • can sumone plz tell me whats betta 7610 or gx30

 • Jenna - I now have the 512mb SD card from Expansys, which is great at 35. Got the MP3's working fine and the transfer rate using my reader is awesome! Still having trouble with the movies. Gonna try and find an MP4 convertor, so I can convert MPEGs and AVIs. Will post again.

 • Toshiba did it.... A nostalgie phone...

 • the problem with my gx30 is that i used to be contract but now i have gone payasyougo but there is something with my setup now and im unable to send picture messages now? great! if anyone can help then i will be greatful

 • I have been using the GX32 for 8 months everyday and no single problem! This is a great phone!

 • you can only turn off the sound by removing the speaker, that sound is there to alert people they been snapped its law now in one country .

 • One thing I hate about the GX32 is it's painfully SLOW extracting/viewing pictures from the memory card compared to the V801SH which is very fast, I would say over 10 times faster than the GX32/30.

 • this is my opinion now im not going for vodafone again enuf is enuf.they have excellent fones on the network but they really are seriously heavily restricting far to much.im not goping thru all the arguments and hassle anymore im just sic and tired of them all.im off to o2 which r not great but at least they r liberal

 • I've had this the GX30i for 1 week now. This phone has excellent screen quality on a large screen. A definate plus. Pictures have to be taken very still or else it turns out blurry. Other than that I've found the picture quality to be great. Video can be recorded at 95Kb or 400Kb. Nice. The speaker is loud, however I've found that the sound can get a little distorted when its too loud. I like the fact that mp3's can be used as a ringtone, however the 8MB SD card that was included is hardly enough. PROS: Light weight, excellent camera and screen quality, video recording, mp3 play, good battery life, expandable memory, full bluetooth. CONS: No free downloadable games/ringtones in WAP, no alarm snooze, 100Kb data transfer limit. All in all, this baby is staying with me. Unlike the SE K700i that I used for 1 month then sold.

 • to coomy have got some mp4 and 3gp files off a yahoo search of MP4 VIDEO CLIPS. any transferred via card reader on to 512mb card but nothing shows up even tho the transfer light flashes away on the card reader.my mp3 s have gone on after a lot of learning and faffing around ,some wont play as they have copyright it says on comp screen.am using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm plug adaptor and using apair of big jvc headfones.have to put plug in 3/4 of way in to get it playing out of both earpieces?very crude basic phone overall, only half sattisfied+all the restritions of voda

 • Hey, please answer somebody my question: Can I turn off the shutter sound so I can take silence pictures?? GX30i

 • was wondering if you could help me weve got an unusual icon showing on my screen permanently its a small globe with a red exclamation mark. Can you tell me what it is and how do I get rid of it please. Ta Jase

 • i have found out that gx-30i has full bluetooth support and also you can use mp3s as your ringtone...and there are also some more stuff tht i dnt knw

 • Whats the difference between the GX30 and the GX30i?

 • which should i get gx30 or gx30i??

 • Guyz pls help.. where can i get gx30i in malaysia?? how much is it selling?? how about in singapore??

 • Well, I have this phone for 5 months already. The screen is the greatest plus side, as well as its camera. However, there are so many things that cant be done with this phone. For example, you can only download the games from the service provider like Vodafone. Not all Bluetooth devices also are compatible, for e.g the Motorola HS820 wireless headset that I just bought 4 hours ago!!

 • hi, more about sharp gx30 review sent me

 • which is best quality in megapixel or other size of picture mode FINE OR NORMAL.anyway sent a short mpeg4 vid to the gx30 from myp900 and it played even though it was only 5 seconds.went to my stuff-videos,then that video from p990 and went to video details and it said mp4.all others off internet are3gp.the voda video that comes with the fone is pretty poor but it would be nice to watch an mp4 vid on this superb screen.the o2x3 video is excellant compared to any other fone vid ive seen this is mp4 but only 128 by 160 pixels solooks detailed because the cif recorder is bigger at xxx by 288 pixels.CIF stands for complimentry intermediate format whatever that is.

 • How long vide can you record with GX30i? Is GX30i available in Germany or Belgium?

 • which is better? mitsubishi m900 or sharp gx 30

 • anyone knows if the gx30i is avalible in HK?

 • Right then, I've got myself a card reader now (15 from Expansys - top job!) I've got the MP3s to work a dream, just can't wait to get the stereo headphones and a 512mb memory card (thanks Jenna for the advice, although I've seen 1gb cards for sale specifically for the GX30i, which makes me wonder). Now for the MPEG player. Does it really play MPEGs??? My old phone (Nokia 6600) played 3GP files, and it looks like this one records in 3GP format as well. However I can't get the files I converted using my Nokia multimedia converter to work on my GX30i. Nor can I get it to play MPEGs. More help please!! Cheerz

 • Where can i get the GX30i in Msia?? how much issit selling in msia?? or in spore?? i'm want to buy!!!!!!!!

 • There is no prob with the mp3 player or mpeg player,,, it works perfekt!!!

 • Got the gx30i its ok..........................................................................................................

 • to coomy, the gx30i only takes 512 mb cards and says in the book files cannot be transferred to the card while its in the fone you have to buy a suitable card reader/writer

 • I've just got a GX30i and am trying to send MP3 files to the phone from my PC. Every time I do it, it tells me the file size is too large and the PC tells me my phone won't support files of this type. This is regardless of the size of the MP3 I'm trying to send. Can you send them to the phone at all, or have you got to put them onto the memory card using a card reader? Want to know whether it's worth getting a 1gb card and a reader. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers all.

 • my gx30 has not got worms on it.anyone got an mpeg 4 video longer than 400kb playing yet when transferred via memory card reader to a256mb or other size card.screen seems to be getting less brighter and crisper as the days go by after putting on brightness 4 and cleaning screen, must be my eyes adjusting to it

 • You cant assign mp3s as ringtones

 • brilliant phone all round, only one drawback, how do you upload mp3 for to use for a ringtune?

 • I hava a gx30,, i got i t a few days ago, and i love it. The Screen is the best ive seen. the camera is pretty good, only 1 megapixel but it takes good pictures in the phone. The Mp3 player is verry slow but i think thats because the Sd card is slow.Funny games like Worms and other stuff. I love it.

 • thanks robbie.the gx30i has full bluetooth and infrared plus mp3 ringtones and improved diary.thats what ive been told in vodafones shop and on this website www.shopforphones.com,but could not swear to it.still after the upgrade from gx30 they shud offer it for 30.anyway been on to sharp who sent me 3 websites to go for info and none helped, neither did vodafone ,it seems sharp build them open and voda buy the lot and lock them to there network and in doing so vodafone put on the restrictions, which we know so its voda im annoying to get the limits taken off.i wonder if u cud sue them for abusing the system as it is supposed to be 100kb mms system and voda are breaking that.offcom might help!its like buying a tele with teletext on and currys saying to you that oh yes its got teletext on but you cant use its blocked by us.they will be known for this foulplay if mms ever took off and mates on other networks are sending videos and having fun but voda customers can only send 4 seconds and thats it.ive got that off my chest for now

 • Anyone know the difference between the Gx30 and the GX30i

 • Formatting means to completely clear everything off it. i.e wipe the memory card clean.

 • what does formatting mean.people talk .of this on there memory cards, just found out the supplied headset has one earpiece can u get a stereo or is this a mono mp3 player.anyone got rid of the 400kb limit yet .3ggp philips from handandgo got rid of the 10 sec limit on the nokia 6600.also anyone been to a service centre yet and upgraded to gx30i.

 • how do i get the driver for the usb data cable to work with the computer for this phone? it doesnt recognize the device when i plug it in

 • To Brynn, U can buy the Sharp GX30i for $699 Aus at Vodafone stores, I think this is a very good price for a phone of its quality.

 • i love tou flip phones they work so well but rught now i can,t afford one but am saving

 • i like its shape and it`s performant

 • to o,as is my p900 it wiil only take the 128 m/byte memory stick.the p910 takes the pro version and as the s700 is pretty new i thought it would be memory stick pro enabled, but not so.the gx30 takes 512 m/byte sd cards its sony wanting to make money so they developed their own memory type.i want gx30i but cannot get it prepay so can anyone help me with my quest.

 • right on! same here! everything works great for me!

 • I just bought a Sharp GX30i with a 256MB MMC and i feel great. I stored 60 MP3s inside and I am listening to music all day. The screen quality is the best because of CGS and the camera it's very very good. Also a great improvement to the olderGX30 is that the IRda Infrared and the Bluetooth work PERFECTLY. I can send and receive everything. So I highly recommend to buy the Sharp GX30i , is the best for it's price range...

 • Great phone ,But can any one tell me why my computer can see the handset and the sim card but not the memory card so that i can download mp3 and videos??????????

 • To skater42, and anyone else who knows the answer :-) This question isn't about the GX-30, but the Sony Ericsson S700, or more exactly the memory card it is using. According to the paper work it takes Memory Stick Duo. Now my question is; will a Memory Stick PRO Duo work. I'm wondering because Memory Stick PRO Duo are bigger. The largest Memory Stick Duo i've found is only 128MB. Thanks all. O

 • im also highly interested about this upgrade and willing to travel to nearest centre even to get it done, still no news on the gx30i , anyone got one yet thank you

Trus dah muncul hp2 kamera MP lainnya dengan harga yg agak murah, masih tertarik ama gx30..? Errr.. you speak indonesian don't you? I don't think you can find sharp gx30 in jakarta. Indonesians don't know what features this mobile has. I had a problem to sell my old gx20! Too expensive they said :) But it sold finally. Now, I keep my gx30 for my self...

 • Oh I forgot to tell you that the bluetooth can connect to the bluetooth handsfree and to sync with your pc only. To use it as a modem for your pocket pc or palm is impossible. Don't think to send your picture to another mobile phone by infrared or bluetooth either! Hey, but you can use your memory card if you wanna share your pictures, right? :)

 • file mp3 in your mmc can be played by highlighted the file then press play . on the menu, go to My stuff, Sounds, Memory Card, then choose you mp3! You Can also go to Applications from Menu. Then choose MP3 player. I can't use any mp3 or wav for the ringtone of my sharp gx30, but midi. And it's not so bad, if you like Vanessa Mae or Bond :)

 • this phone has too many failures,no proper bluetooth,no voice tags, carnt program the buttons, vodafone have made a big blunder.

 • Is it imposible to set MP3 songs as a ringtone on Sharp GX30???

 • sup shannon, the gx30i is comin out the only diff is that it has full bluetooth(yay) but i have the gx30 and its a gr8 fone but i agree bluetooth should b fully activated hope that helps

 • The gx30 is ok,but vodafon should recall all phones and activate full bluetooth, and install voice tags.Vodafon you have shot your self in the foot.

 • the mp3 player cant play the mp3 file.they convert many time and change bitrate also the same.

 • I heard theres going to be a SHARP GX30i is that true and whats the difference?

 • i have this phone have been using it for a little while love it was a nokia and ericsson user have a few liitle grudges like the calender, the speed at which the photos get taken, and battery life apart from that a great phone

 • don't expect too much airtime from those small thin batteries. keep one extra with you all the time. I have at least 5 just in case for long conversations.

 • i luv the sharp gx30 with its big buttons and great screen but ive had 2 dodgy batteries so im starting to think somethings wrong with the phone.

 • where i can find it in indonesia(jakarta)? and how much that it cost?

 • If you like high-tech gadgets and things, then check out . You can get a really great gift like mine, a sharp gx30 cellphone for just $40! Really. Just click the link for more info.

 • The best cellphone I've bought so far in my life! Great workmanship and quality. I don't care about bluetooth and mp3 so it's a great phone for me! Thanks Sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 • Please help me! I have a Sharp GX30 phone and I think it's amazing but there are a few things I can't work out. 1)www.mobango.co.uk this site lets you download java games onto your comp ready to be transferred to your phone but where do you store the game so that it works?? I can't work out how to make it work at all! If some could help with this greatly appreciated. 2)I download mp3's to the GX30 using a sd memory card reader/writer and it works fine but how come I can't get songs from cd's to work on it? They don't show up in the mp3 only in sounds and have a small jigsaw icon why does this happen? I was told you have to make them 128kbps how do you do this?. How do I make them work?? This is totally confusing me and it's depressing that I can't use the phone to the best of its ability Please e-mail me if you have and help and advice on this! Y=Thanks!!!

 • How to install games into this phonE?

 • Excuse me everybody, I meant to make the phone alert me with a sound when a voice mail is received. Thank you, Art.

 • Hello everybody, If any one can tell me how to alert me with sound when a voicemail is received, I will appreciate very much. Thank you, Art.

 • Hi eddelimit, To make tones louder, go to Profiles, then into the options, then into personalise. The rest you should be able to figure out.

 • Hi alarnnah, The best option for this is to purchase an SD card reader which are cheap now. This plugs straight into yr USB port. You can then drag & drop MP3 files and photos directly on to the phone or from the phone onto your PC like a drive. Simple.

 • Hi Funkamaniac, your MP3 playback is purely down to the battery life. I think it is about 4hrs or so. With a decent SD card u can hold as many tunes as you want, however MP3's CANNOT be used as ringtones, despite vodafone telling me at one point that they can.

 • Hi Harry, you can send data via blutooth on the GX30 as it is blutooth enqbled for voice only.

 • Hello!I want to buy a gx30 but i am from romania!!If someone gets here please give me a mail and tell me the price and when you get here.Bye!

 • Hey, does any one know when this phone will get to about 130-150 in the UK??? maybe christmas??

 • its a good cell but its expensive

 • if it trans too many data to memory sometime crash and lag , its video camera only record two minutes?this is bad phone,i regert to buy it.

 • Hey, does any one know when this phone will get to about 130-150 in the UK??? maybe christmas??

 • anybody knows when gx40 or gx30i/32i comes out?

 • hey i am useing a GX20 at the moment but am buyeing a GX30i when thay come in, i am wondring what the diferance is between the GX30 & GX30i is apart from the bluetooth being able to transfer pictures and videos and stuff.

 • Hi. I got ma gx30 and i try sending stuff through bluetooth but u just cant. How do i send files through bluetooth?

 • Just a few questions... Is it possible to use mp3's as ringtones on the GX30? And how many continuous hours of mp3 playback can you get?

 • for a look at gx30i and gx40 go to www.uk927.com

 • alan, what do u mean "sucks with the bluetooth/infrared locked if unlocked, everything would be perfect." ?

 • how much for pay as you go

 • mark, use the mp3 player in applications to play mp3 instead of going to my sounds in my stuff. they'll play continuosly then.

 • I have about 30MP3s on my GX30 SD card, but how do I play them ALL (continous)? Or can you only play one at a time?

 • how to retrieve a sms during a phone call..? i've tried pressing the option during call.. but i dunno how to access.. please please help!!

 • Hi everyone.Decisions..decisions.I have the Nokia 7610 but I just cant get my eyes of the Sharp GX30? I want it ! What do you guys recommend? I want a flip but I really like the features of the Nokia...

 • help me! i love the phone and the picture quality is amazing but i recently bought a usb cable and i can't seem to upload mp3 files....why? this is really frustrating do i need the cable or should i get rid of it? what software do i need?

 • The best fone I ever had, but I hate the restrictions and Vodafone... :(

 • to alan, if bluetooth unlocked & video unlimited i wud buy this phone tommorow

 • I juz got this phonE today.. hmm but when i put in the ringtonE.. it seems that the sound is very soft.. how to make it louder?

 • It is available at all Vodafone stores in Australia. Not network locked either!!

 • Have gone back to a Nokia..got fed up with the bad reception..now missing the decent camera.. lol Does anyone know how i can get my phone book on my sharp from the handset to the sim...Cheers [email protected]

 • I have a sharp gx30 unlocked and on o2! the only thing is, i is bored of the borin origional silver casing. anyone know where i can get a funky coloured one! in da uk.

 • iwant to get a sharp gx30 from india but i dont know if its going to come out there if u know the date its going to come out please email me at [email protected]

 • This phone is very average definetely not the bomb forget it!!! Nokia & SE all the way!

 • i think this fone is da bomb and im going to india and i want to know if its goin to come to india if you know plz tell me thx

 • hmm.. i understand that the bluetooth cannot transfer file between phone.. how abt the infrared? is it like those samsung type? only can transfer between PC or can transfer with any other phone..?

 • i like it and i want to but it

 • Does anyone know of a good website that will explain the difference between all the different types of screens out there. TFT, CGS, CTN etc.....

 • sucks with the bluetooth/infrared locked if unlocked, everything would be perfect.

 • eddelimit, the V801SH is available only in Japan and maybe Europe (where Vodafone service is available). The Japan model will not work with other Vodafone USIM card, it will work only with Japan USIM card. I doubt that the 801 will be available in Hong Kong.

 • darn is it only available in Asian countries. didnt see that.

 • is this model out in australia? If not when? i need to know i want to get this.

 • thankz mike again.. hmm, for V801SH, it's only available in Japan.. is there any asian version? hmm.. i would like to get one too.. is it available in HongKong?

 • eddelimit, the only model that I know of that has the 320x240 video record capability is the V601SH (available only in Japan from Vodafone). My V801SH in the best mode is 176x144 (QCIF) although it will record up to 426 minutes on a fresh 256MB SD card. If you are in Japan V601SH with a 2MP camera is the one to get. I think the video quality on the GX30/32 is 128x96 (subQCIF) because it's not as clear as the 801 and the maximum record time is about only 1.5 minutes. Sorry I can't help you on the ringtone since I'm not into ringtones at all. Hope you find the phone you like.

 • thankz mike to ans my doubts.. i would also like to ask that, is the video a QVGA? which means the resoulution for a video is 320X240? if not, does anyone knows which phonE got this function? and i know that this phone does not allow mp3 or wav to set as ringtonE, but is .mid file loud enough? coz some .mid file are quite soft.. thankz

 • eddelimit, the GX32 can handle up to 1500 in and outbox SMS mail on the onboard memory.

 • i would like to ask that how many sms can it be stored in the inbox?

 • As I said that bloke's a foney he doesn't have a clue phone from the 2006!?! lol them phones are barely on the prototype stage yet maybe its a bit believable if he said 2005 phones.

 • Gotta point there tealeaf... he didn't mention the exact specs though. So who knows... See, that's what I don't like. If you guys can't tell us what company you work for (you're anonymous here anyways) and don't tell us what kinda phone it's gonna be... why even write? But anyways...2006 is so far away. Who knows if we'll even have those kinda phones then as we do now.

 • Its just funny that this sentence he wrote... "it has 3gpp, email, camera, video camera, film playback (2hours worth), mp3....." Well Many phones out now have more features than just all this so if this so called unreleased phone ain't gonna be out until 2006 its going to be out of date before its released.

 • I agree with tealeaf.... some phones have symbian, some have Microsoft etc. Some phones just have the manufacturers software. They are all different. Some phones have 4096 (ie. Nokia), some 65K and some 262k color screens... Resolution depends on whether it is a STN, TFT, CGS, UFS etc. So how come you can say that your phones betta than ours when they are all the same ;) It's obvious that as time passes phones will get better, and some companies will develop different technology to others.

 • Well Munknick no phones do not all have the same software, its interesting who you work or, exactly what phone have you got cause all them features you mentioned are in current phones lol.

 • Tealeaf.. and everyone on here i work for a major phone company aswel also not stating their name!! I have worked in this business for over 10 years!! Can i just say that all mobile phones have exactly the same software, screen res, datatransfer..allbeit some faster than others but they are all the same my engineers meet up with they likes of Sharp, Panasonic, Sony Ericsson...... so please don't say that "My phones better..no my phones better" because its not true and if you really want to see how this all works write to your mobile phone producer and ask for the factory tour!! Please if you must know i have the best phone it won't be out untill 2006, it has 3gpp, email, camera, video camera, film playback (2hours worth), mp3..... and anything else you could emagine!! Someone has to test out these phones!!

 • Dave, you are sooooo cheap that you can't buy a 256MB card for the GX30? No manufacturer will include a large memory card with the purchase of a phone! Nokia gives you a bigger memory card???

 • By the way: get the specs for samsung TFT here:

 • To TEALEAF and others: I know I know, I'm a freak. But just a quick thing I wanted to ask. On the Samsung website you get the info for their TFT SCREENS: " 2.2 Inch...Transflective...176 x 220px...262k color" how can a 2.2 INCH TFT Samsung screen have 176 x 220 px? But the same 2.2 INCH CGS SHARP has 320 x 240? Can you explain? Am I stupid or does that make the CGS finer than the TFT??? I know I'm being an A--hole here, but please explain this point to me. I'm just saying the Sharp has a damn nice display....all I'm trying to say. cheers,

 • Why has this phone only got 16mb of memory included? that ain't no good. The features are ok but too simple thank god I got the Nokia 7610!

 • Oh yeah the camera on the GX20's shit my SE K700 kicks the crap out of it! as well as the screen.

 • The SE S700 meets all your criteria apart from the flip but slide should be alright for you, May I say it has the best camera (better than GX30), better screen too, better software, looks, memory stick duo should do the trick, No excuses skater. Or the Nokia 7610 has all that minus flip and slightly inferior screen but easily better than the GX20's screen, feature wise it embarrases your beloved Sharp!

 • Hey, well, I've got my choices limited because: I want a Flip-Phone. I want a CGS (or equivalent quality) screen. I want a Camera as good as the GX20 or 30. I want a good organizer and Alarm system (missing in the GX20) MP3 player and SD Card would be nice. Email is a plus. Not having a Vodafone branded phone: Priceless. Anyone able to help me out?

 • get a life skater42

 • Hey, skater42 just get the phone you want already! jeeze!

 • TFT and CGS is the same!

 • Correction, P730. Anyway just have to say skater you got your choices of mobiles very limited.

 • LG 8110??? I had 1 its horrible, the flip mechanism's sticky, I have to say the GX30 is light years better than that, try the samsung P930

 • how do we know that many people who posting around here are not the same person anyway No flaming war intended, just curious ;P

 • I think CGS looks better than TFT (as far as I have seen)but well it's just mt personal opinion and can not wait for SE 700 to give it a try !!

 • No worries Tealeaf ;) As I said, I'm always open to alternatives. So far I am really satisfied with the GX series. But as I said, I have to check out the S700. But I want a fliphone, that's the thing that bothers me a bit. Because there are no better Flip-phones. The Z1010 is allright, but bulky and bad screen. The Z105 is Ok, huge but also: bad screen. Nokias new Flip isn't out yet, and nothing I desire anyways. Samsungs Flip phones are Ugly. So the only Flips I'm really keen on are the LG U8110, GX30 and MPX200 (and 220). Any suggestions?

 • Hey Skater I agree with you there, E700's screen is no match for the GX30 or GX20 for that matter, but for you giving out false information and big up them 2 phones like you do there needs to be counter measurements because they are not nearly as good as you say, even the screens are getting on a bit especially the GX20's but as goes for the GX30 there are still better alternatives than these vodafone stuck machines. SE S700 and K700 both kicks the shit out of 20 n 30. The Nokia 7610 is the best allround phone in the market in my oppinion. Sorry if people hurt your feelings Skater but you had to be told.

 • could anyone tell me if its possible to use real ringtones on my GX30. i've downloaded them but they won't work as ringtones. can it be done?????????????

 • @ George Stillman, have a good laugh because I've never claimed to be an expert in TFT production. I merely tell you that to me the Sharp products just seem to be better Quality. Is that wrong? You can prove me wrong anytime, I invite you if you explain to me how a TFT is made and all that. Surely you know some good resources, because I'm quite interested. AND TEALEAF: If I'd be working for SHARP I wouldn't waste my time here arguing with you. I wouldn't have to because I would know EXACTLY what each one was made of.

 • My bottom line is: I love the GX20 and GX30, the screen is awesome, the camera is awesome and the features are OK too. I recommend it to anyone and if u want to buy a Nokia instead then do so. But because I'm such a fool, fill me in with some real information instead of just telling me i'm wrong all the time.

 • lol, guess I'm outnumbered. how am I wasting your time? You choose to come here and argue...so I guess just don't reply and do what you need to do instead of writing here. As you said, numerical data tells you the difference. Give me the specs of the size ONE pixel has, and how they are spaced compared to a regular TFT (as seen on Samsung S200/300/500 etc.) e-mail me if you don't want to "waist" your time here because I'd like to know more about the technology. You guys get offended so easily as if it affects you personally. I'm just giving you the reasons why I believe they are different. Started when I compared the E700 with my phone, I could see the pixels were bigger on the E700 and smaller on my CGS? How am I wrong? Start giving me real data, especially George, who works with a cell-phone company. Fill me in on your research. And TEALEAF, why do you guys come here and complain about the GX30? If you love your K700 then be a bit more specific on what it is that you find so great. Damn, is it so hard for you guys to compare and give your personal *detailed* opinions? Do you have any links to show us some pictures of the shots from a K700?

 • I will love to buy a GX30 sharp phone from you.Bur first,i will like to know the method of payment.

 • That skater boy is a twat wasting all of our time with this pointless argument he's imagined up. lets just say the GX30 is a good phone worth buying if it suits you.

 • Well well well looks like skater you're out numbered and don't try to say your GX20's camera is better than the 7610's (or even 6600's for that matter)cause GX30's camera's only on a par if not slightly better.(never mind GX20) And you're right sharp is not all about phones cause everything they do they're second rate compared to the likes of Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Philips and yeah NOKIA!

 • Agree Skater42 can shut up.

 • I work as a design enginner for cellular phones. I won't say for what company, but what everyone is saying is right and you're wrong. You said you know about cellular phone? give me a break! I work with circuit board level and believe me there is no difference in brightness or resolution between TFT and CSG. You make me laugh like you know every little thing on how the display screens are made. I test and do burned-in process in the engineering department with all the necessary test equipment and the data tells me that your eyes and my eyes can't tell the difference between the two, only in numerial data that the sensitive equpment gives me. you're such a pain on this forum. like all the other people on this forum is saying, stop arguing and move on and forget about the screen thing. I'm telling you from an R & D point of view for cellular phone displays.

 • what IS your problem skater42? like cellman, tealeaf, mike and many other keeps saying that you can't tell the difference between the two types of display! you're just going overboard with this display stuff! nobody can't tell the difference between the two types of display and your no exception! stop complaining about this issue and move on!

 • You guys are forgetting one major point: SHARP is not about mobile phones. SHARP produces all sorts of technology as where Nokia is only known for its mobile phones. The phones SHARP produces are excellent in quality, even though I give you right with the featurs. I would prefer not to have a V-Fone branded device and with the features of a Nokia. But there are no decent Nokia Flip-phones. I compared the GX20 with: MOTOROLA V525, V600, V300, A920, A835; SANYO VH801SA; NOKIA 7600, 6230, 7610, 6600; NEC 525, 606, 616, 808; LG 7020 (although its an STN), 7100, 8110; SONY ERICSSON Z600, Z1010; SAMSUNG V200, S300, S500, E700, T400, T500, Z105; SHARP GX10i SIEMENS: ST60; Now, most of these phones have pretty good screens. The Motorolas were the only one's coming close to the SHARP's quality. That's my personal opinion, but I've seen them and nothing has convinced me. I would choose another phone with more features, but the screen and camera of the GX20 and 30 are too good to let go. It's enough to take pictures, play games and have good fun with it. There is no point telling you about the differences of TFT and CGS because CGS is exclusive to SHARP and you guys don't want SHARP phones. So of course you'll defend your phone brand. I'm open to any phone, just haven't found one close to the quality of SHARP (keep in mind, I want a FLIP-PHONE). Trust me, I know about phones, and I know what *I* want! I've searched everywhere and decided that quality (usable camera, good screen) is all I want. So Nokia doesn't do it for me.

 • A lot of arguments here, its not that bad of a phone but just not the best.

 • go to www.mobiles4all.com Get this fone 4 20.00 just quote this referral id 18000967 when signing up.

 • Skater you ain't got a clue! this phone sux got it of vodafone 4 less than 3 days I took it back, no internet, can't add software. Big as hell just absolutely useless apart from the screen and camera Nokia all the way! oh yeh cgs is not better than tft

 • No its not too expensive because its not good enough TFT technology is better, its sharper because damn nokia put a shit low res 65k colour screen on the 7610 don't blame TFT and no I'm not a Nokia loyalist just read the SE K700 forum. Your GX20 screen??? what phones have you been testing then the old 4098 colour Nokia 7250 or something?!? lol. If Sharp is banking on the screen and camera to sell the phone then thats why Nokia have always out sold Sharp by 10 to 1. SE S700 TFT yes TFT screen destroys the GX30 not to mention the better camera too. Forget this useless piece of junk and go for Sony Ericsson.

 • @ Tealeaf: No need to be rude. If the GX30 screen is sharper, wouldn't that make it better than a TFT??? I don't need to argue with you about the 7610, one's a Nokia, one's a SHARP...they speak for themselves. I haven't had the chance to test the S700 but when I get around to it I will. Every phone I have compared so far didn't compare to my GX20 screen, and the owners told me so too. So there must be something to the CGS. But you're just a Nokia loyalist and would never admit to that. CGS is Sharps own invention and would therefore only apply to SHARP products. CGS is probably still too expensive to use for big screens, I don't know.

 • skater you idiot yes GX30 screen is sharper than the 7610 but doesn't mean CGS is better than TFT look at the SE S700 screen then you tell me GX30 screen's still the best anyway overall the Nokia 7610 is a much better phone than GX30 period. Oh yeah its odd I don't see high quality CGS flat screen monitors about since its so good innit try comparing my 1600 x 1200 21inch monitor's pixel size to your sharp then lol you muppet!

 • does any one know what the sound quality is like in the mp3 player and how loud it is?

 • cgs is much better than tft.

 • Please send me the price on sharp GX30 GSM phone

 • Ok, you guys haven't looked at a TFT or a CGS at the same time. As I said, the pixel SIZE is smaller on a CGS. How do you think that a 2.2 Inch screen could have 176 x 208, but the same 2.2 INCH, CGS can have 320 x 240? TFT is not the same as CGS and you guys just don't know how to tell the difference.

 • skater42 you can't tell the difference between tft and csg screen. you've gotta be kiddin that YOU can tell the difference! IT THE SAME THING, JUST NAMED DIFFERENTLY

 • yu can't tell tft or csg. human eye cannot detect that difference. you just think there is a difference!

 • Exactly Vodafone won't even let you upload java apps without going through vodafone Live! and why are you comparing the screen to a 65k colour screen try the SE S700 which has a better, bigger screen and a better camera too. And don't diss the 7610 feature and design wise it beats the GX30 which has hardly any features no 3rd party software?!? no OS??? this phone makes me laugh as you worship it, oh yeah have I mentioned its bulky?

 • The big deal: TFT and CGS to me are a big difference. I would be repeating myself here, so I just say that the CGS has much better quality. Smaller pixels, very bright. Just good. The whole "deal" started with the comparison of the 7610 and the GX30. I don't like the TFT and prefer the CGS. Personal preference. The OS doesn't matter as much to me, the only problem I have with the GX series is that Vodafone won't let the user upload Java Apps without using "Vodafone Life!". I'm picky about the screen size and quality, and 320 x 240 px are a huge difference compared to 176 x 208. So you decide. Functionality wise the GX20 and 30 satisfy my needs completely. That's about it.

 • V801SH is made by "Sharp" and V801SA is made by "Sanyo" although they are both from Vodafone. Regarding the screen, on the GX32 and V801SH, both on them says "CG Silicone" on the screen by the handset so I don't what's the big deal on TFT and CGS.

 • please, spare us! comparing gx30 with 7610??? ah ah ah! 7610 is much superior, it is symbian! lots and lots of 3rd party software can be installed in that phone! sharp probably wins in screen and camera quality, just that!

 • Ok, so obviously no HTML is allowed in here...but anyways, check out the vodafone japan site for some cool phones...

 • Sorry, when you copy and paste the link, make sure there is no space before the "v801sa"... I'll try to make it an html-link....let's see.

 • Hi yall, The V801SA is by SANYO. Check it out: The V series is just a name used by vodafone Japan. I'm not sure if the Sanyo uses TFT, but the pixels are as small as the CGS. The CGS however is brighter. It doesn't really matter, they are both ok screens. When I look at regular TFT's, the pixel size is much bigger than on a CGS. Samsung may well have changed that. The pixels on a CGS are 1/3 smaller than a TFT. Anyways....next question. I think they have sorted them problems out. I don't own a GX30 so I didn't have the chance to try everything. But it is annoying, the GX20 needs a software update. Anyways, cheers yall

 • texting slow and irratating, battery life short but to be expected.pic quality very good but delay on video is frustrating as is difficulty to take un-smugged photo

 • Nice phone just too big and bulky I think the gx20 was a nicer looking phone any1 agree?

 • This phone is useless as the old Samsung V200 apart from the camera and screen, who put all them restrictions on?!? NO SYMBIAN!!!!!!! or even windows mobile! and no way is the phone better then the Nokia 7610 or the SE S700 which I might say is about better in every single area then the GX30, choke on that Sharp fans!!!

 • Big thankyou to 'Sharp user' and 'skater42'. Thanks Guys, i'll check them phones out. I've got another question, if you don't mind; Does anyone know if Sharp have sorted the problems with the GX-20. Problems like; The calender having no alarm. The phone not being able to remember new words, when creating text messages. Also the alarm only works if you leave the phone swithed on. Does anyone with a GX-30 know? PS. I'd like to add i'm not having a dig at sharp, i own a GX-20, and plan to buy a GX-30 soon. Thanks again, O

 • skater42 you got things wrong there. The V801SA is by SHARP not Sanyo and also the screen resolution is 262K on either model. Both V801SA and V801SH screen is 262K, the difference is that the V801SH has a 1MP camera and V801SA only has a .31MP camera. Sharp GX30/32 has a CGS (Continuous Grain Silicone) and V801SH/SA has TFT (Thin Film Technology). Some say TFT is brighter, but they're both the same to me, TFT or CGS, unless you have superman quality eyes.

 • yo skater 42, have you checked out the screen on the samsung SGH-D410? god it's well nice. try comparing them at www.mobile-review.com

 • I hope none of us here are "assuming" that the GX phones have decent screens and cameras. I've tested them all, GX10, 20 & 30, and the GX20 & 30 have by far the best screens around. I compared the camera and screen of the GX20 with that of an Sanyo (Vodafone Japan) V801SA and it's a much better screen quality, brighter and more contrast, but only 65K instead of 262K Sanyo. The camera was clearer, brighter and a better color contrast compared to the Sanyo. Nokia has good features, but the design and quality of screen and camera are generally bad. The 7610 ( i don't understand myself why we compare the two), and the GX30 have not much in common. Other than having a 1-Mpx camera, the phones are different in style (flip vs. bar type), and in resolution and color quality (Nokia: 176 x 208px, 65K; vs GX30: 240x 320px, 262K;). So, all you Nokia lovers, since Nokia can't make decent Flip-Phones someone else has to make them: SHARP. And I think that SHARP bar or slider phones would kick Nokias butt anytime too.

 • If you don't like the Vodafone logo buy the GX32 which has no Vodafone logo. what's so good about the Nokia 7610? is it the looks? Personal preference but I think the 7610 looks like a piece of thick bread, too big. I don't know why a lot of people says that the GX30/32 is big? It's a lot smaller and compact than the 7610 which doesn t even fold!

 • This phone's OK the best thing about it is the screen, its by far the best display I've seen and the camera's top notch too its just the Vodafone ristrictions that really gets on my nerves! its too restricted and for that I think that my Nokia 7610 is better, it has better features, camera thats almost on a par and looks alot better too especially when you take away all the Vodafone logos splashed everywhere.

 • Yeah, don't want to even hear the word nokia on this Sharp review site!!!!!!! This is a Sharp revew site and we don't want to hear no stinkin nokia crap over here! understand!!!!!!! whoever keep mentioning nokia over sharp

 • why is there always some idiot who obviously works for nokia on every single review in here? the nokia 7610 isnt even in the same category as the GX30, so why compare them? people who want the GX30 obviously want a flip phone, and not a block (with an awkward looking keypad, i might add).

 • when it reach malaysia??and wat is the estimate price??

 • oh, anyone know the best place to buy a gx32 for the uk?

 • to o, for a 2.0mp camera check the mitsubishi m900 out! to nokia lovers, if you can come up with a nokia that beats the gx30 functionwise then and only then you can say that nokia is better. sharp has the best quality phones available today, try and appriciate it!!!

 • hey, thanks skater42. :-)

 • nokia 7610 is much much better and the camera resolution is better on the 7610 if u look at the specifications so dont write stuff that your just assuming

 • The SHARP GX10(i), GX20, GX30 and GX15 are all exclusive to Vodafone. That means they are all branded with the Vodafone logo and software. If you want to get non-branded phones you will need to order a GX22 or GX32 from the Asian market. And yes, there are 3 Megapixel phones already available, but only in Korea and Japan. DOCOMO (Jap), Anycall (Samsung, Kor), KTF (Kor) and CYON (LG, Kor) all have 1-3 Mpx phones by now. cheers,

 • do all these gx30 phones have the stupid vodafone logo on them? i can get sim free ones, but the ones i have seen have that vodafone logo on them still. i hate vodafone.

 • I thought the 1 gig card would be good for MP3, could fit a lot of music on it. (plus pics) Anyway, who wants the bother of lugging a spare SD card round with them. Question; Does anyone know what phone out now (or soon'ish) has the best camera? Are there any 2MP (or higher) camera phones about? Thanks again, O

 • huge huge and by the way...huge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!go for a nokia 7610

 • Hey yall, well, who says that people aren't traveling? Also, I believe the Motorola A840 is/will be available worldwide, not just Japan (it's old tech there anyways). CDMA and GSM are very popular here in Australia, having the opportunity to have both is a huge plus, especially when you need to visit rural areas. The same goes for the states. I know what I'm talking about, I've lived in both countries. It's true, verizon and sprint are CDMA, and their coverage is HUGE. Don't forget that a dual band CDMA/GSM phone is true world wide coverage. Many Korean's or Japanese people from overseas can appreciate it. Back with the GX30 the fourth band is important for the best coverage possible. And I don't think its very obvious to most that SHARP is better quality. That's why people are discussing it in here, aren't they? I'm not saying that Nokia phones aren't solid, just their hardware isn't as good as SHARP's phones. So far every phone that SHARP has brought out is of great quality and I believe that will stay that way. It's for no other reason that the SHARP GX20 was the "Flagship" of Vodafone (other than the millions of contracts they have). Anyways, you all know by now what I think about SHARP, so try it and you won't regret it!

 • TO Liam, for me I just formatted it firstly once and then simply put my favor mp3 files into the SD card and that's it it works !!! did u try that already?

 • sorry, can anyone let me know that its the gx-30 support the chinese language? i know that gx-32 is chinese language. thanks.

 • Duh! everyone knows nokia is a piece of junk and sharp is quality!!!!! you gotta pay the price but what you pay is what you get and dualband or quadband doesn't matter at all unless yu travel overseas. and now what are yu talking about CDMA and GSM??? there are only a handful of dualband CDMA/GSM phones on the market and you can get them only in Japan. in the US verizon and sprint is CDMA and the rest is on GSM

 • I have had a GX30 for a month now and i still cant get mp3s on it could some1 please tell me how.

 • Also, I forgot to mention. The GX30 is a QUAD-band, it has the extra 850 Mhz frequency which the N 7610 does not have. Doesn't seem important? It is. Not all cariers may support 1900 Mhz, and having the 850 band covers the US GSM net flawlessly. Of course, some areas don't have GSM at all, but maybe Sharp will produce a phone like the MOTOROLA A840, which is dual band CDMA and dual band GSM? We can hope for another great phone in the future!

 • You can't compare the Nokia 7610 with the Sharp GX30. Just can't. The CGS 256k color screen is way better than a TFT 65k. Also, the camera in Sharp phones are the clearest and best quality cameras you can get. Not even Sony Ericsson can compete. The only downfall (again) is that it's a Vodafone handset, which means that the menu is crap and some functions aren't included (there is no email client, which sucks). The quality of the GX30 is excellent and a very solid phone. To me, Sharp and Nokia have two totally different missions. Nokia is all about mass-production and trying to stay market leader. Sharp is multi-functional by not only prodcuing mobile technology. It's not trying to be market leader by producing hundrets of new models, but focuses on a few with damn good quality. The price isn't cheap, but the phones are value. How many models with a 4096 color screen did Nokia produce? Dozens, all the same in features and style. Sharp design's aren't the greatest, but at least they always add heaps more functionality to their newer models. Nokia is just trying too hard. Sorry Nokia lovers. cheers,

 • get a nokia 7610, looks better, better camera, more memory, symbian, series 60, menu looks soooo much better, got themes, realone player, everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 • Also, what are the differences between GX30 and GX32? Although the last question bothered me a bit, but I 'm almost certain I will go with the GX32 to try Sharp for the first time. The price difference between the GX32 and the GX22 in Canada is almost $300. Is it worth it? To me the GX32 is just too hard to let go.

 • I'm about to purchase the GX32. Just is curious, is there any way other than transfering videos from PCs to the phone with less than 400kb in leggth? Wouldn't 400kb be too small? how would any video from the net be 400kb? Please help me on this issue, this is the only category I'm really lost. Is there other phones than is better in this category?

 • nokia and sharp kick sony ericssons ass ! ! ! especially the nokia 7610 and the sharp gx30

 • nokia 7610 is way betta than this fone ok the nokia 7610 may be big but remember that it aint a flip fone like the gx30 which is a flip fone and massive one at that its too big to be a flip fone come on sharp make some smaller fones that can actually fit into our hands the features on the 7610 kicks gx30's ar5e

 • funny ha ha

 • toooooo big

 • stick to the 256MB card. anything over 256MB may not work and why do you need anything more than a 256MB?????????? And nokia MAKES the most ugliest phone and it's expensive!!!!!!!!!! Never compare nokia and Sharp!!!!!!!!!!

 • hey all, does anyone know if the gx-30 will take the 1 gigabyte SD card. i assume it will. But on the Sharp website they only talk about the 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512mb cards. No mention of the 1 gigabyte SD card. I don't want to buy one and then find the phone won't read or write to it. Thanks, O

 • I keep on wondering if I could use an animation wallpaper on Main or External screen at this phone anyone knows?

 • its too fucking massive and nokia 7610 and 6630 kicks its a55 ! ! ! its alrite but compared to nokia or 1 or 2 siemens fones, this fone suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

 • just forget the nokia because the camera resolution is not even close to the GX30 and also the screen resolution. nokia is expensive for what they have to offer, the GX30 is expensive but worth it. believe me you won't regret buying the GX30. nokia way behind teknology now days so just go with japan brand and you won't regret it. best luck to you

 • i thinking abt wich fone i shud get out of the gx30 the n 7610 or the nokia 6230 iwant to get the gx30 but i use bluetooth a lot 2 send pictures and sounds and ive heard that it dosnt work is this true? and can u take songs off your pc and put them on the phone? and can u use them as ringtones?

 • hi i own a sharp GX30, wow it's gr8 and it's the best phone i ever had, but you couldn't assign ringtones you have recorded don't you? can someone tell me pls!!!

 • I got the GX30 a few months ago, 700euro(worth it, I think). What I want is real ringtones but when I download them they only play on the mp3 player, i can't assign them as ringtones. also, can I get a stopwatch and alarm reminders????

 • nifrared blototh

 • well i think that it is the best phone at this period but i'm sure that there will be other better phones than gx30....so i suggest to wait a litlle bit ....technology goes on!!

 • Paulkun or any body that may have input thanks, is wap only bye the wirless provider, there is no provider but t moble and i cant get good resaption here can you tell me what wap is and how it works...and the mp3 songs were and how can i get theme....thanks...Darrell

 • Hi!Darrell, you can tranfer mp3 by using card reader/writer but you won't be able to tranfer Java games. Only thing you can do is using wap to download games to your phone.

 • Hello I was hoping since I live in the USA and am having problems with singular not knowing apn #, there web address to connect to download games if any body would be kind enough to help me, I want to add games and mp3s to my handset, IM going to get a reader/writer and have a cd with hundreds of java games, if I understand right I can load the mp3 and games on the memory card and play the games. or do I need to do some other process such as format or resizing.. Please help [email protected]

 • Hi Thomas, to best answer your question: * Active flip - do I still have to open the flip and press a button? (**YES**) * SMS/MMS problems - do you still have to press and hold down the star key to change from uppercase/lower case (it's always so slow)(**YES**) * Messaging dictionary - the GX20 would remember a word for about a day and forget it the next day. I guess this was a bug in GX20, and a very annoying one too! Does it look like it's fixed?(**I haven't had any problem with my GX32 **) * Alarm - doesn't work if the phone is turned off (**YES** Should turn on automatically when power is off) * Calendar - the GX20 doesn't have the ability to set an alarm for a calendar event, so I never am reminded when something happens. Very stupid functionality to leave out. (**YES**) Other than some lack of features it's a great phone!

 • can anyone tell me which is the best fone sharpGX30 or nokia7610 i cant decide

 • Hi, I'm looking to upgrade from my GX20 and GX30 and was wondering if any of these niggling issues in the GX20 has been resolved... * Active flip - do I still have to open the flip and press a button? * SMS/MMS problems - do you still have to press and hold down the star key to change from uppercase/lower case (it's always so slow) * Messaging dictionary - the GX20 would remember a word for about a day and forget it the next day. • I have a gx30 on Vodafone, Someone told me that it is the Vodafone Live setup that stops that bluetooth sending and getting pictures and ringtones. Was also told that this isnt hardcoded to the phone. Does anyone know how to remove this to get the bluetooth to work?? Thanks

 • what a fantasic phone! unbeleivable quality, it really is state of the art! the videos fab aswell, me & the mrs have had loads of fun with this one!

Take care

 • I broke my sharp gx30 within 2 hours of buying it HOORAY must be a record back to vodafone 2moro me thinks

 • ok well i give up on trying to get links to work...haha...and no i dont have any singnal problems just be careful while taking the old antenna out and putting the new one in. And no the GX30 does NOT come with a USB cable but neither does the N 6230 but it does come with headphones to listen to music but there only mono. Yes vides can be transfered from gx30 to pc and yes they have to be below 400kb for the GX30 to accept them.

 • the samsung i250 is an rockn phone and im between that and the gx30.. any suggestions??? HELP

 • I am decideing whether to buy the GX30 and have a question. Can videos be transfered from a PC to the GX30 and if so how is the quality and does it have to be less than 400KB in length or can you transfer about 20MB etc if you have a large SD Card. Thanks for the help.

 • Which is better the Nokia 6230 or GX30. Does the GX30 come with a USB cable or do i have to buy it seperately.Does it also come with headphones for the MP3 player.

 • thz a lot Nico for your help, though no idea that the new link that u gimmi also didnt work --" but i finally got it from ebay AU in a fair price and seemingly new i also wondering that it isn't causing any prob with signal or anythin" by romoving an antenna???

 • Yes but the movie has to be in 3gp format and under 400kb

 • are you able to watch a coverted movie on a gx30

 • Hi, finally back home (7 weeks in germany) Larry: new site: Unknown: the default handset code is 0000 unless you changed it that will be it. Mike: I didnt know there was a difference either....haha. And i have a 256mb sd card also and it is more than enough room. And the GX30 only accepts MMC cards upto 128mb and sd card upto 512mb. (it says so in the manual) And here are some pictures of my shorter antenna, im not sure where you can buy it online. The man in the store gave it to me for free. Heres the site: quality isnt that great since i took with webcam.

 • Mike, Thank you for the information, I appreciate it. I will try to get it. Art.

 • Nico, I didn't know there was a difference between the GX30 and the 32... Wish I could help you with the .png picture frame, but haven't experimented yet. Art, you can buy a SD memory card from most electronic retail store like Amazon.com, that's where I bought mine. A 256MB SD Sandisk cost about $80. 256MB gives you plenty of space even for my V801! I've seen antenna (very short) for sales for the GX so i'm sure it will come off. I don't plan to take mines off so I don't know if it's screwed on. Nico might be able to tell you about the antenna.

 • I normaly buy two or three phones per year, but after I got this one I do not think I will buy another one in the next two years. Would any one tell me where to buy the SD/MMC memory card for this phone? And also, would any one tell me if the antenna can be removed? Thank you!

 • Your welcome, for me it works fine but i have a GX30 i dont know if that has anything to do with it. Anyway does anyone know how to create frames for when you take pictures. It says they have to be in png format which i did but still no succsess.

 • Nico, I got the 8 in 1 Sandisk card reader and am able to download the pix from the V801SH, but not from the GX32. I don't know why it won't work??? I tried a new SD card, formatted and took a pix and tried it but it will not read the SD card from the GX32. Strange, the only thing I can do to transfer the SD contents from the GX32 is to transfer from SD to handset memory first and then download it to the PC. At least I can get both pix to download to the PC now. Thanks for your help. Aloha!

 • Kerry, there is no sms message counter on the handset. You can store over 500 text per in and out box with no problem.

 • I was wondering if anybody caould tell me if this phone has an SMS counter. Or how i can track how many text messages i have sent. Thanks for your help in advance :)

 • Anyone knows how to transfer java games into the phone without GPRS? thanks

 • I did head to the site u gimmi Nico but it seemed like the page has been deleted mate... do u know any other site??

 • Here is the site: i have an 8 in 1 reader but i cant find that anymore.

 • thz for answering me but my prob is i dont have one Nico. could u gimmi any website i can buy it or have a look i prefer to buy it online( with software of course) thz in advance mate

 • How do you load mp3 songs onto the phone? Im using the data cable with its software and it doesn't let me upload mp3s onto the phone.

 • How do you find out your handset code?

 • There not necessarily "better" the data cable is used for transfering data with the software and a card reader is for transfering data from card to computer. Also with the software (datacable) you can sync your outlook contacts with your phone.

 • Why are card readers better then data cables?

 • sorry i mean sending and getting file from PC by bluetooth

 • I am using this phone too and must say it's totally kool phone it almost got anythin" i want even though little disappointed of the bluetooth that can be only used with headset !! no for sync date ( or u guyz can do it if so tell me plz) anyhoo,i kinda like Symbien and wanna give it a shot

 • No you dont, you can also buy a SD card reader, if you have a card. Or you can buy a usb infrarot adapter to send them via infrarot. Theres many ways besides the data cable.

 • Do I have to buy a data cable to get images on the PC?

 • sharp gx32 touch (the best)

 • Sorry cant help you there since i have non expierience using the software.

 • I got the USB cable and software for the GX32 and I can download pictures from the hanset memory but not directly from the SD card. Is there any way to download the pictures directly from the SD memory card to the PC via USB cable? I will be getting the SD card reader for my PC, but it would be nice if the pictures could be downloaded directly from the handset.

 • Yes well you dont "make" it shorter, you can buy a shorter antenna and put it on. I didnt really mind it either but the guy gave it to me for free when i bout my case for it

 • That's right Nico, you have to format the SD card when you insert a new one in, same goes for the V801SH and other's too I guess. I didn't know you can change the antenna on the GX32? I don't mind the size of the antenna so I guess I'll leave mine alone.

 • Sorry that was a bad link heres the good one: http://www.yourhandy.de/query.php?cp_sid=165915cced3d&cp_dls=wbsfProdukte.tag&cp_dlt=5504&cp_pid=55767&cp_cat=4692&cp_tpl=main

 • If anyonethinks the GX30 antenna is too big or anything. I have it, though the man gave it to me with my case at a store thats the exact model i have, works extremely well.

 • To Mike, very important before using the SD card. You have to format it through the phonen first. To do this insert the SD card. Go to the main menu then to settings. Then to memory card and hit format. This will create the folders such as Pictures, Sounds, Videos, etc.

 • Exactly, and does anyone know how to load java applications onto this phone.

 • Just as Nico said the size of memory card doesn't matter on the GX30/32. The V801SH will record over 300 minutes on a 256MB SD memory card but as Nico said it's only available in Japan and cannot be unlocked. V801SH is a great handset the picture loads 20 times faster than the GX30/32 when you are trying to review it, compared to the GX30/32 seems to takes forever...

 • No but that will work with the V801SH but thas only avaible in asia, and is not unlockable.

 • If you put a memory card in, will it last longer?

 • 400K video last for just a little less than 1 minute and 30 seconds. In "fine" mode it last just about the same.

 • Ok thanks. How long does a 400K movie last?

 • Yes you can, but before putting it on the phone you have to convert it to 3gpp format. And make sure the video isnt over 400k because GX30 wont play it if its bigger. Believe me ive tried

 • Sorry...I mean can you put a clip off the PC onto the memory card and watch it on the phone?

 • So can you out a clip onto the memory card off the pc and watch it?

 • If the phone is smaller&takes away the Vodafone"Red+Grey"looks..the Sharp GX30'd be perfect..!!hm...hm...

 • no you cant stream videos on the gx30. it only plays back clips saved to the phones memory/memory card

 • Can you stream videos on the gx30?

 • jojo, try turning off the "Cell Boradcast" and "area Info" under "Message" if it's set to "on". If you turn it off it will save your battery time considerably. Other than that the battery capacity is only about 780 milliamps, so don't expect too much time out of it. Also turn the Main Display brightness down and keep the backlight on a shorter time and keep the "Display Saving" on a shorter time also. Hope those setting will help if you still haven't done so. Good luck!

 • You didn't do nothing Nico! Just my idea of leaving people alone who writes wierd comments, but it's up to you if you want to comment to those people. OK I'll get a SD card reader for my PC to download pictures. Thanks!

 • How do you load java applications onto it

 • Is anybody else having problems with the batterylife on this phone? How long is it suppose to last? Mine last for about two days with only 1 hour talktime. The phone is great but don't know how to use it to the full capability. Please advise thanx!

 • great fone but cant use it (lol) still trying to find out how to load mp3`s onto it and where to get games for it i have a link cable and software, so if any one knows please please help Cheers Yaz

 • and what do you mean by leave these people alone, what did i do? Besides the argument with tupac sorry about that.

 • To GeorgeIII no the nokia media convertor cannot convert 3gp into anything else. And i havent tried with quicktimepro. To Mike, sorry and with the software i havent tried, i just use a card reader for the SD card.

 • Nico, do you have any idea on how to set up the software for the GX32. I got a USB cable and a software, but it says I have to connect to a internet and download another software or something????? Can anyone help? Thanks!

 • Hey Nico! I'm not scolding you or grumbling! Lets just leave those people alone and just us legitimates can use the forum to the best extent! Aloha!

 • For mr. lim, the bluetooth is for audio only. ie a blue tooth headset. there is no way as far as i know to connect to another phone, not even if you use the infared.

 • This bluetooth can link to other phone like nokia or sony ericsion????

 • I am very interested in this phone...but anyone can help me where can I get it because I cannot managed to find it in Singapore. Alot of help will be appreciated.

 • What I mean is, will Nokia Convertor or quicktimepro do the job for the vice versa procedure as well?

 • About converting 3gp to mpeg, I mean from the mobile to the PC, what does one have to do? Do I need software or hardware and stuff like that? Thanks once again.

 • Thanks Nico!

 • ok sorry mike ill cool it. To my knowledge buying a larger Sd card will not increase video size or quality. Also about the program im really not sure you'd have to search on google or something. Also you could use the Nokia Media Convertor to convert mpeg's to 3gp since its free and quicktime pro isnt. Some say there is no sound when using the Nokia Media Convertor but when i used it to convert a video it worked fine on my GX30.

 • so noone knows???

 • Ok, even if a larger memory card doesn't improve the video quality, isn't there any kind of upgrade programme on the internet like the one for Nokia 6600 ?

 • thanks! dirk.

 • Is it true that by getting a big memory card you can extend the video recording size for gx30?

 • Hi there, does anyone know whether I can find an upgrade programme for my sharp gx30 video size and quality?

 • its the best

 • FOR PAUL you can use quick time pro to convert video files and it's good only pro edition of quick time

 • Hmm, the GX20 (which I have) is the best already but the GX30 really puts everything else behind. I'm talking about the European/Aussie/US market. Of course the Asians have better models, but for the rest of the world SHARP has brought High Quality! Ok, and to get this right, the GX30/22/20 DO NOT have a TFT screen but a CGS (Continuous Crain Silicon)!!! Beats the hell out of Samsung TFT's.

 • duz ne1 no how to work the bluetooth on the gx30

 • Does anyone knows what program we can use for converting mpeg format(VDO) to be 3gp file? thanks

 • this phone will be fine for approx 12 months then the microphone ( which is made of bio-degradable materials ) will start to fail, caller will hear crackles and white noise. this is the same on all sharp models.

 • I just bought the phone recently, and a 256mb sd card for mp3 and pics. It the best phone out.I also have a load of java games waiting to be put on to it but don't know where to put them. The phone manager software you get with it doesn't allow you to upload games. When I load the onto the sd card i cant find them on the phone. If anyone knows how to get the games onto the phone can the let me know asap and ill be more than willing to share these games.

 • Michael, between the GX30 and the Nokia 6230, I would definitely choose the GX30 with a 1 megapixel camera and a 2.2 inch high resolution TFT display versus the Nokia VGA camera and low resolution TFT display and other features. Although personal preference does come into effect, so do research the specification on the two units and you decide which best suites your need. Good luck!

 • Harry, you can purchase a SD card made by "Sandisk" from eBay and other electonics/camera stores online. The GX30/32 will ONLY take SD memory card and it will not take your CF memory card.

 • Nico Domino, Disregard some of the "information" people put up on the forum. If your not good enough to put your email address on the site, I would say the information is either not true or bogus. Lets just do our part of the business posting the correct information on this forum!!!!!

 • Ok. back to answer some questions. From "Unkown": does any of you guys know a clamshell phone that can record videos, take excellent pictures, has bluetooth and is a worldphone? The GX30 is a great choice (I have it). From "gericka"; really like this phone but before i buy it i want to know all the pros and cons. can anybody please help me? its quite expensive too so is it worth it? Thanks guys. k well with this phone you can record video (quality isnt too great) and take pictures (1 megapixel quality is excellent!) also it has an MP3 player but it only supports 128khz. Which isnt a problem if you have a good converter. It plays the mp3's from a loudspeaker (good quality sound very loud if needed) or a mono headset provided in the kit. It has bluetooth but it only works with car kits and headsets along with bluetooth speakerphone. If you've got any other questions email me. And finally from Richard why doesnt the bluetooth work on this phone? im not about to buy an expensive cable and accesories for something that shouldve been working from the start before its release! anyone know how i can activate this bluetooth feature? Is there a download from wap perhaps? thanks all for reading :). As stated before the bluetooth function only works with carkits or headsets. To activate it go to:main menu, Settings, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Bluetooth On/Off Then select on.

 • Also to get bad boys 2 on your phone you'd have to first create a mpeg (or another format) of the whole movie (you probably downloaded it of kazaa or something) then convert it to a 3gp file (which is the only video format the GX30 plays) then copy the 3gp file from your computer to the SD card.

 • Can anyone please tell me which is better between the GX30 or nokia 6230??

 • Can you only use SD cards in the GX30, or can u use a CF card which i use in ma digital camera?? and also, where can u buy the 256MB card for the GX30?

 • verry good points 10/10 best buy for the price in belgium 429 euro

 • Gx 30 is very good

 • tupac, OK understand that the 10 megapixel is your dad's video camera... I really don't understand what you mean by "slot the card"? Well I've got the V801 so not necessary for the GX32 to do any long video recording. Interesting though "slotting the card"

 • mobile phones are for calling not for camera video and all this junk all u need a phone for is calling why is it called a phone then and i own a nokia 8210 and im happy i dont need a camera in my phone. if ur so desperate for a camera buy a digital camera and i have to admitt that the sharp gx30 woke me up and really made me think how kool a camera phone is so dont think like i used to think get the gx30 since it is the best phone out on the market.

 • paul slot the card in and it should have a little sighn at the top of the screen of a card. then go to camera and click record video and it should ask u if u want to record on the card click yes and then record as long as the card can take.if it dont work call costomer serveises and tell them the problem cause it happend to me and i got my gx30 replaced with a new one which works. cause the gx30 has got quite alot of problems like bluetooth.

 • hey mike u can record video up to hours if u get a memory card all u do is slot the card in and it will allow u to record longer. and there is a camcorder out with 10 mega pixels not a phone and my dad has got this camcorder with 10 megapixels uderstand now.

 • Tupac, the video recording time on the GX30/32 is a little less than 1 minutes 30 seconds on a 400K byte segment. I didn't know it was possible to record a longer length of video from a PC to an SD card and play it on the GX30/32??? No matter how big a SD memory card you have the video recording time on the GX30/32 is a little over 1 minute. Unless you get a V801SH which will give you a continuous video recording time of over 330 minutes with a 256MB SD card. That's what I like about the V801 I have and the still picture loads way FASTER than the GX30/32. Compared with the V801 the GX30/32 takes about 20 times longer to load the still picture... Although I have nothing to complain about the GX30/32, it is the best phone I have purchased! I don't know about the bluetooth capability because I don't talk as much and didn't care about it when I bought the GX30/32. The resolution of the GX30/32 is 1 megapixel not 10 megapixel. There is a 4 megapixel camera phone out by Vodafone in Japan by now.

 • tupac, are you sure about video recording time? I got gx30 too but i can record video just only a minute per shot eventhough i got 256 mb memory.I think the mix per shot is just 400k for a long mode.If you really can do it, please tell me how to do. thanks.

 • well got the gx30 2 weeks ago for 350 and to be fair this is the greatest phone ive ever touched and the camera is amazin the qualiy is better than my dads 900 10 mega pixel digital camera with video. the video funchion is soooooo kool and u can get a memory card and record up to hours of video. and if u get a 560mb card u can download MOVIES i got bad boys 2 and my phone its soooo kool. im sayin that this is the best phone in the wold if u want a qulity phone u want to get the sharp gx30 only 350 in the link.

 • buna draga ce mai faci eu nu te-am mai vazut de mult si vreau sa ne intalnim candva papa te pup dulce?

 • I've been torn between 2 phones recently, the samsung E800, and the sharp GX30, but i'm going for the sharp, mainly because it has soo many more features than the samsung, but i just can't STAND the weight and the sheer size of the phone, whereas the e800 is cute, sofisticated and has a smart slider on the handset (which was completely nick'd from the siemens SL55, but WHO CARES - the buttons were too small!)

 • Thanks Hatzi, it's been bugging me 4 ages.

 • active flip i think is where the phone is ringing and u flip the phone open and it answers the phone straight away meanig u dont have to press the button to answer.. which i think is a good thing not to have cause if somebody you dont like is ringing u, u dont have to answer when ur phone is open.

 • ok one more question :D sorry for so many questions. Because the bluetooth dont work for data and a cable costs heaps i would like to know if it is possible to put games, ringtones and other things onto the memory card from your computer and then put the memory card into the phone and execute and extract the ringtones? Cheers Hatzi

 • What exactly is an active flip??

 • Please can someone help.......

 • Hello everyone, I am a proud owner of the GX30 and have a problem, I cannot seem to be able to send video clips to my pc or even compatible handsets?? does anyone know how to do this?? You guys rock thanks in advance!!!

 • thank u very much mike ur a life saver :P

 • Hatzi, the GX32 can probably handle close to 1500 inbox and outbond SMS mail with 6MB of internal memory. I've already got close to 500 in and out mail and still no problem. Enjoy your GX32!

 • Im about to order this phone because it seems the best on the market except the little bluetooth dilemma that it has.. which i was sure sharp would fix but i guess they didn't. One question only how many messages does the inbox handle? my gx10i can only hold like 20 messages but ive seen other phones like nokia hold 100's. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly how many it holds. Cheers

 • No active flip! Battery is a flop! Front screen is not a 65k but 4k low resolution !

 • is it a great phone?

 • can anyone tell about full specification of this phone,it looks like very expensive one, isn't it?

 • congratulitions it's a pretty mobile, only need a tv tuner

 • i have just got a sharp gx30 and think its the best phone i have ever had! it has everything! and i think the size of it is suitable, it isn't to large onced closed and it isn't so small you cant press the buttons!

 • i av ordered dis fone from dis webby n im hopin it will b gd!! from da sound of it it is, but da blutooth dnt sound 2 gd but i wont use dat so o wel. BiBi

 • I was considering getting this phone at one time....but so many of my friends bought this phone i just spent some time playing around with it...and found that it aint got enough features to use. Because it is not a smart phone. u cant download more data...ALSO BLUETOOTH is not data..so u cannot send any data to and from other devices....so not as good as one thought!!! only camera and screen is good...nothing else

 • This is a smart fone. The problem i have found with this fone, is with having the high res camera, video capture and mp3 player is that the battery power does not last as long as other fones. Sayin that i wud not swop it for ne other fone. All in all this is a great fone. To get true tones do i need to ring my network provider as i have tried to get 1, but it tells me fone not set up. Does ne 1 know how?

 • The GX30 is quite simply the best all rounder. It has high res screen which is big enough to read. High quality camera, and it works. What else can you say?!

 • Russo, did you set-up Voice Mail Settings? Go to "messages" and then to "voice mail" and then to "voice mail settings" and put your local voice mail phone number into either "home mailbox" or "roam mailbox"?

 • I bought a GX32 recently, And my problem is , I don.t have a voicemail alert before messages , It only come after I had read the message . dose anybody know how to setup the voicemail alert. Thanks.....

 • I live in belgium and I own this phone, good for vodafone live, good camera, good MP3 with the memory cars, BAD bluetooth cant transfer anything,...

 • To anyone that has anything negative to say about the Sharp GX30: Nothing beats Sharp they are the best around. If anyone has something that beats the awesome GX30 (in specifcation not personal opinion) Then and only then you can say this phone is crap. (if everyne keeps to this rule we wont have any negative opnions for some time to come!)

 • Is this a good phone? and what does it cost?

 • thanks mike

 • no once again on sharp phone bluetooth is nearly useless,u cant transfer nothing.k700i is and looks much smaller.

 • hi....is this phone smaller than panasonic gd87 and se s700. which is better SE s700 or gx32

 • can anyone tell me if you can use bluetooth to transfer data to and from your PC and if so exactly what data would that be (eg. mp3 files, pics, etc.) Thanks.

 • Nokia really really lost it... Their design is ugly and cannot compare to any other Japan made phones. Hope Nokia will improve on it's design someday and make something that doesn't look like that came out of space!!!! I'll never buy a Nokia, even if someone gives it to me free!!!

 • This is the best phone on the market by far. Nokia have dropped the ball big time.

 • Could anyone please tell me how i can transfer games to the GX30? thanks in advance!

 • external display (front is the same qwality as a nokia 3510i!Is this 65k ?? lolz not even a 4k!and low resolution!bud the intern display a have never see this before +++

 • no usb port on sharp gx30 just infrared

 • Does anyone know how to set the phone to answer calls when you open the flip. At present I have to press a key after opening flip and this really annoys me?Plz mail my

 • Homer, considering for a cell phone the video recorder on the GX32 is good. The resolution is a little jerky but useable. In "fine" mode it record for 1 minute and 31 seconds and in "normal" mode it records for 1 minute and 16 seconds each with 400KB of memory with contrast and zoom adjustment on both mode. Hope the informaiton helps.

 • How good is video recorder? Thanks.

 • I'm in New Zealand. Who knows where i can buy GX30 Stereo earphone for listening MP3. Thanks

 • which cell phone is better? gx32 or Mitac mio 8390???????????? which is better to buy?

 • To Dan below, yes the GX30/32 CAN play realtones. We have a demo GX30 in store and have realtones saved to it's memory to demonstrate this fact so I can garantee that. ;)

 • a well designed, comfortable phone to use, a credit to the quality of sharp ....

 • Kalle you have no idea. The Sharp Gx-30 has the best picture quality out of any phone on the market. I would love to know a phone that can take up a picture as clear as the GX-30 can an night.

 • This is the best phone on the market by far. Nothing comes close. Vodafone Live completes this handset.

 • Just got an unlocked version of the GX32. Can anyone give me an info on how to set up the handset to access T-mobile t-zone GPRS set-up on this particular handset. Thanks in advance!

 • I am not sure you can play realtones. Maybe, try ordering one. The gx30 has a light on its camera so the pictures are quite good in dim light, but the problem is that it is not so strong and it doesn't have a good reach. And it sucks that the camera is so slow. When you move it it gets blurry. If you want a fast camera phone, go for any other company but sharp. But in some places the camera is faster than others, may depend on the light.

 • hello, I have a few questions for people who own this phone before i go and spend my money! Can it play those realtone ring tones?? What is the camera like in dim light such as in pubs and bars? And is it true you have to hold it really still or you will get a blurred picture or is that all bollocks. tia dan

 • Nokia has the most ugliest cellular phone design i've every seen...

 • Jim d, thats kool. I think that the 7610 is a brilliant choice.

 • yeah that was 1 of the things that put me off the nokia at 1st but ive put up wit the 7650 for ages and that suits fine! think ill b goin for the nokia, cheers jonno!

 • Hey jim d thanxs for confirming this. In my opinion id go for either one. The screen in 7610 doesnt house as many colors. But there is a rely kool video editor app.

 • yeah i agree wit you jonno, had a try out in a vodafone store yesterday after readin your reviews nd the fone was really jerky wen tryin to take a foto, the video is not good either but theres no need for it wen youve got a 1MP camera at ur disposal! the screen is incredible as well, its so clear! u really have to see it to believe it! its light as well, and really easy to type wit! wot should i go for, a fone wit all the looks and a decent mp3 player or the nokia 7610 with better camera and video???

 • I bought bluebooch, but can not connect with sharp gx30, who can tell how to do it?

 • Scooby_Doo_Blue, i think they mean that when moving the camera around the screen image is jerky. I don't think that the phone takes that long to save the picture-in my opinion

 • i have heard that the camera speed on this phone is slow , does this mean that it takes a long time to save images or that when moving the handset to find a picture the screen image is jerky ? please reply ,thanks

 • did he could send and message by blutooth or IC and did he have a place for a note?sorry an bad english.THANKS

 • This is a s.it phone. Can`t do anything well...don`t buy this phone becouse you gonna go crazy whit it.Sharp is the worst phone i had.

 • good phone ,lots of stuff , but why do all sharp mobiles have such a boring "tow the line" look to them. and what the h**l is this damn vodaphone only thing?

 • Please,is there any way somebody can order a handset directly from you people. If yes pls tell me the cost of the handset and the cost of order

 • Doh!!! r u sure about the limits on videos etc, the sharp site says it can take 400kb movies but doesnt mention playbak - is it not gonna be able to play whole films in 3gpp? :( also, VBR mp3 work?

 • Gx30 will only play 3gpp with a max file size of 400K. MP3s MUST be 128Kb/s encoding BUT can be any length (SD card). You can't send games (jars) by IR or mem card. Bluetooth IS headsets only. MIDI ringtones have a restriction in size and number of sound sources.

 • Can you send a phonebook entry (V-card over BT or IR ??

 • Bluetooth and IR and phone cannot exchange data over it with other phones or notebook. POOR !! On the first sight good features. But you can't use them as you could in many other phones. For this it is too expansive !!

 • I jus got my GX30 today. Wow an amazing piece of work. I love this fone. It's way ahead of it's time!!!! Buy It!!!!

 • Thanks you!! one final thing with the bluetooth, does it connect to most headsets?

 • It is a great phone and its features are great. It has brilliant colour and a good camera. It has even got a 1.1 megapixel camera with a video player on it. The MP3 player sounds great. I really would recommend the sharp GX30

 • I think it's a great phone with everything on it. It has even got a MP3 player on it. It is great!

 • Yes Peter u can! Looks pretty cool too with the extra editing! :-)

 • is this phone like the tm100, are u able to add stamps and add effects like emboss or other effects to the pictures when they r taken

 • Can anyone help. Obviously the GX30 is a well built phone with incredible screen resolution, and having the ability to watch video (albeit 3GPP grainy quality) I have tried to take this a step further. I have managed to find a 3GPP video converter which can convert any MPEG, AVI or WAV movie file. This basically means that you can transfer an entire movie in 3GPP to fit onto an SD card. However, even though it sees the file, and can play small video files, it won't seem to play any video over a certain size. Even around 3MB which I think is pretty poor. nyone got any ideas. Even Vodafone can't seem to answer this one.

 • "when you cant send the shots to anybody" Weird, I've been using my SD memory card to transfer pics to my computer, then emailing them perfectly! All for free too! Love this phone!!!

 • Do yourself a favour stay away from it this phone is an overpriced pile of crap you cant use Bluetooth for anything other than Handsfree MP3's wont play as ringtones last time I saw a Phone this big was 10years ago whats the point in having a 1meg camera when you cant send the shots to anybody, get youself a v600 motorola plays mp3's as ringtones, bluetooth with anything, looks better, camera's better, both Quad band, I have Both phones & I will never touch a Sharp again

 • Hi, Ive got a GX30. when im searching for ALL bluetooth devices i do get results but thats it, i cant select or pair any of the devices. Am i thick? Anyone help?

 • is one of the best phones where i saw!!!!

 • Hi there! I'm having trouble connecting to PC via Infrared using Win2000. My PC detects both Infrared device and GX30 but thinks that GX30 is a modem so the data transfer software isn't reading my cell! Any ideas? I'm in New Zealand. :-)

 • Games&More->Screensavers->ON/OFF->On , please select the application corresponding to the screensaver. But BombLink does not correspond to a screen saver.

 • How to set screensaver?

 • Please transmit an MP3 file to a SOUNDS folder using a card reader. If still useless, abnormalities are in your MP3 file. Please carry out reencoding of your MP3 using Apple's Itunes.

 • In response to j's question, you have to go onto profiles, select any of the thingys9eg activity, silent) and go to "select ringtone."

 • Fenomenal in functions, design and extraordinary qualite, BUT TOO BIG (95,49), MUCH WEIGHT(110g). WHATS HAPPEN SHARP?

 • 4980 Yuan in China HongKong market. It's about $600.

 • in what locations can u find this phone? and what are the best plans 2 use w/ it?

 • help! my GX32 cant receive vidao MMS?!!(but i can receive photo MMS) why??? did anyone have this problem?

 • I have bought a 128mb memory card for my gx30 but please could you tell me how to transfer the mp3 files so they will play on my fone i have a card reader/writer but when i put the mp3's onto the card in my fone it still comes up no files, even thou i know the files are on the card. please help thanks

 • Real problem with this phone is the two major soft keys are programmed for the service provider and are locked. If you want a phone and the ability to move to a different provider, do not buy this phone as your provider cannot or will not change them.

 • By the way for the question asked earlier by "unknown", i think CGS means Continuous Grain Silicon.

 • ok Jonno i could do it. Thanks for your help.

 • Lol, Paul i meant that you can transfer any sized file to the phone. U can transfer 3MB, but make sure the file is less or equal to 192kb/s bitrate. So u can have any sized file for mp3, it just has to be equal or less than 192kps/s. That isn't the size of the file, thats the bitrate the song plays at. :) Sorry about ne confusion that my previous msg mite have caused!

 • The Infered and the Bluetooth does not connect with other Infered and Bluetooth Phones.$670.00 is to much money for this phone.Where can I purchase A USB cable for the phone, and a CD.I am not happy with this Phone.

 • Jonno could you tell me how to tranfer mp3 files to the phone? I've got a card reader/writer but the mp3 files are like 3MB. how to reduce files to 192 kbs/s thanks

 • This phone is the best!!!So much better than E710!

 • world's best GSM

 • I am very impressed with Sharp GX30,because of its extraodinary qualities and many functions.

 • which one should i buy a Sharp Gx30, NOKIA 7610, NOKIA 6600, NEC N820 or a SONY P900

 • will it be possible to get this phone in INDIA and will it work here

 • I just got GX30 today. Please!!Please!! tell me how to reduce mp3 files to 100kbs thanks

 • J, If you don't have a card reader i think you can do it by irda but its slow and can;t tranfer big files. Thats why its only 100kb by irda. But you should get a reader for about 15 from carphone warehouse i think if you live in england.

 • jst got my fone 2day n how the hell do u give it a ring tone?!! it sez it comes with 28 but wen u go on my sounds it goes file empty?! plz help

 • Good phone very poor organiser poor Bluetooth only works with headset vodaphone games very poor compared to my other phone NOKIA 6600 perhaps you can tell me a game site for GX30 i like casino games Brian

 • Dis is sucha quality fone!! best camera evur!! get a memory card writer/reader n dis fone has everythin! GET IT!

 • oo ok thnx..but wha if u dnt have a card reader/writer?! then wha do u do?

 • It is easy to transfer songs using a card reader/writer and you can play songs of 192 kbs/s on the mp3 player. It can store only 100kbs if you wanna store on the handset. I'd store mine on the memory cards.

 • How easy isit to transfer songs from your PC to the sharp gx30?! n can u actually put songs on cos i heard dey can only be 100kb long?!! plzzz sum1 answer dis..cheerz

 • what is CGS?

 • Simply the best. Outstanding features and performance. I hope that the gipsies that are now working in england will bring back with them in Romania a few GX30, so I can find one to buy. No offence, but Vodafone, where are you? GX30 sa pisa pe orice nokia si-i da si la muie. Va multumesc :)

 • Okay! I got the gx30 about 2 weeks ago and here is my opinion! The best camera in a mobile phone yet. Of course, the camera is slow compared to other phones, but I think its just cause it takes time to get the picture ready, and its worth it cause the quality of the pictures are really good. Its almost like a digital camera but not as sharp. There 5 different sizes to take pictures. XXL, XL, Big, Medium, small. If you choose to have XXL or XL, the picture quality will be very good, but, the capture will take longer and you cannot zoom. If you choose to have Big or medium then the picture will be also good and won't use that much memory, you can also zoom 4x on "big" and 7 or 10 on "medium and small". If you choose to have a small picture, you will only have half the screen to take the picture with, but the moment you press the capture button, the image freezes and you can save it. There is no nightmode on the phone, but there is something which doesn't affect the pictures quality: a camera light. You can have many different colours (i recommend white for dark places)to take pictures with, and if you go to a completely dark place and take a photo, the pictures are suberb, better than nightmode. Another fun option with the phone is that you can take self portraits by clicking the star button to change the camera searcher to the outer screen. SMART! Otherwise the phone is equipped with video and mp3. The video has two modes> mms mode, or long mode. On mms mode, you take very short videos that last up to 10 sec. (this is only so they can be sent as an mms). The long mode is just to make longer videos that you can then save and watch. These can last as long as over 1 minute. The mp3 quality is satisfactory but not very good. The talk time and stand by time are quite short lasting 2,5hr/200hr. So if you want to buy this phone, buy it for the multimedia and not the talk time. But of course, this phone is for you who occasionally makes a call. The design is quite boring but the silver around the camera is pretty. Even though many ppl think antennas are ugly and in the way, the antenna on this phone give the gx30 life. In other words, the gx30 would have been quite ugly without the antenna. And, how can the sharp store all this stuff? Well the sharp gx30 has an sd card reader. It reads cards that are called Secure digital. These kinds of cards can be bought with one of the biggest amounts of memory in the world, you can buy a card like this with up to 512 mb. Wow! Well I have come to an end now, and would also like to mention the little outer screen that sharp has put on the gx30. Its fantastic, and if you even come to think that it has 65,000 colours, then you will be almost out of your mind. How can the outer screen have 65k colours, when some proffesional camera phone have 65k on their main screens, and some still have 4k. Of course the quality of the outer screen is not like the real 65k, because it is small and doesn't have many pixels, but still, you can see the time, date, missed calls, messages and so on, and even a picture you have taken. The bad things about the phone> battery life, alarm only works when phone is on (very useful for me as I use it as a morning call for school), no "things to do" in organiser, short video, video quality, mp3 quality, bluetooth and infrared can't send pics to other phones, sar is quite high.

 • The GX30 can play MP3's of 192kbs/s, look at the website. It is Quad Band but it can't play MP3's as ringtones :( The phone can store more than 100kb songs on the memory card. It's only 100KB if you store on the handset.

 • Plz, plz, plz tell me how good the mp3 player is and how easy it is to download the files, thanxs

 • how long is the video? (10sec,30sec) and how much zoom in? (5,7)

 • CAn anyone tell me how to get mp3s to my phone? I have a usb cable, and i have downloaded the usb port and the handset manager, but what program do i need to transfer the mp3 files. thanks.

 • Dear unknown I wasnt referring to the different opinions but to the people who said a lot of things just to say them!!! In fact I bought GX 30 and here s my opinion without prejudice!!! The frame rate that u re referring is a little bit slow indeed but u can choose a faster speed (there are 3 speeds for taking pictures). The trick is to have a steady hand!! The thing is that I `ve seen pictures taken by other mobiles and GX30 is far the best cause what it loses on frame rate it gains on picture quality. I know that new mobiles will come out soon with bigger lenses (therefore better images and videos) but I dont know about the prices!!! I ve seen pictures taken with the Sony-Ericsson Z600 and I must say they re very bad!!! The video of GX30 is not that good or what you were expecting but I havent seen what videos look like on other mobiles, so I cant say much. However when you take a video and your objects dont move quickly it s quite good or acceptable. The flash light is great and I ve taken pictures in total darkness and they look amazing!! The mp3 player I havent test it yet!!! The games are GREAT and I ve downloaded some great games!!! It s like playing on a game boy!!! However keep in mind that if you play a lot you can kiss your batterys life good-bye!!! It doesnt last that much but thats understandable!!!!! Now for the bad things!!!! The flash light can not be switched off when you receive calls or messages and sometimes its annoying cause its really bright!!! You cannot store incoming messages to different folders. You can only keep them to the incoming-folder or process them and then keep them but without showing who send the original message. Of course if you thought about it when you change your mobile and have stored messages on it you cant take them to your new mobile unless you send them. But it still bugs me a little!!!! Another thing is about the calendar. You can store things to do but it doesnt have a wake up option for those. You cannot store birthdays that you will be reminded every year!!!! It only have alarm clocks for something like that ..but there only alarm clocks!! They dont repeat the remind every year or month!! Thats not really good isnt it? And of course the bluetooth, infrared and cable functions are really really false moves from Sharp and Vodafon!! I think that the true guilty here is vodafon who I think wants to get money out of everything!!!! In conclusion I think that the phone is really great and its the first with 262.000 colors and 1 mega pixel. New mobile with that kind of capacities will go out but for the time being it s the best!! I advise you all to read carefully the specifications and if its possible to see up close (and working) the mobile that you want to buy!! Only then you know what to really expect!!! And a last thing. Keep in mind that when you buy a mobile with camera video games etc etc the battery will not last very long unless you dont use them that much!!! I hope I ve been a help for some of you!!!!

 • Question? Is it 2band, 3band, or 4band?

 • blimey electra chill out!!! i gave some info about gx30 refering to some of the things you've sed people have talked about - in MY opinion they are valid and not false (and I AM grown up ;) ) - i've had 3 other phones that came with data cables, but not only that it was more annoying that when i had the gx30 Sharp were not going to have either the data cable or a stereo handsfree kit until a couple of months later. I agree about obviously needing a card for mp3 stuff but I found the mp3 quality to be poor in comparison with other phones. As for the camera the framerate is far too low - yes of course 1Mpix is great but such a low framerate makes taking pictures with people in totally crap. Personally i'd rather either play off pixels for a better framrate allowing you to capture shots better, or else wait for the any of the upcoming Mpix handsets - most of which also have Stereo mp3 playback. Of course people should check specs but most peope know its often very hard to pin down exact details on the finer aspects of phone from spec sheets. ....and remember peoples opinions are just that.......and re-laxxxxx

 • i think that it is a really cool phone but the price of it is to high. I know that it has to be a bit expensive because of all the stuff that it does and the things that it has. P.S. I love my sharp

 • I live in jamaica and i am sure that this is the phone for me......

 • i should wait to this fone comes out: says it's Japanese but will be in continental Europe in 2Q 2004

 • I think Bill Gates should get into the mobile business.

 • Hi ppl, I am a very interested buyer of the GX-32. But my concern is this: I understand you CAN'T use mp3 as ringtones, but CAN you use WAV files as ringtones? Thanks! Sorry if someone asked this question already but I haven't seen any post about Wav files being used as ringtones.

 • hey can anyone tell me how much this phone costs when u get it with "tax free"?

 • Can anybody tell me if when you open the phone to answer a call does it answer or do you still have to press the answer button like on the GX10??? Thanks!!

 • He used to hold me tite. He used to rub me at nite. But now he says im old. And found another gold. He is a SHARPer sim slutt. And he still has a great butt. I miss his pocket everyday. Where his head and balls used to lay. OH STEVEN COME BACK TO ME! I LUWE U MAN!

 • Andy you must get a card reader/writer to transfer mp3 files to mem card. I bought a mem reader/writer, it's not expensive, and it works with 7 diferent cards format, then you can transfer all the information you want to the mem cards and read them with the phone. The sound that you can transfer with the sharp aplication applies only to rings and stuff like that, not mp3 files. is that ok?

 • ok my fone came with a 8mb mem card and i can't transfer andy songs cuz they all exceeds 100kb. Can ne1 tell me how did you guyz transfer mp3 files to your fones?

 • Gx 30 for sale 250. Just got a 6230. Can't drive and flip at the same time!(North London area)

 • I purchased this phone because it looks great, sounds great and is generally funky. However I took it back after 1 day when I discovered I cannot transfer jackshit between other phones. I thought bluetooth gave data transfer freedom? The phone is a waste of time, as you cannot scan around in pubs and transfer silly stuff. IE Bluetooth's fun factor. This phone should be compatible with Nokias, Sony's etc. If Sharp wants to succeed in the mobile phone market they better get their act together and make their phones compatible. Buy a Nokia 6230

 • a

 • I agree with electra, i bought a mem card of 256mb memory for the mp3 files and i can put there about 60 music files. The memory of the phone, that is good also comparing to other phones, it's for pictures and phone numbers, games, etc, not for mp3 files. The sound is great also. I'm only sad with the bluetooth and infrared not working with other phones, but if you see other phones like e700, doesn't have bluetooth. Don't work with other phones, doesn't matter, it works with computer, if i want things from friends, they will send thrught the MMS. I'm happy in general with the phone, and i have for a month already.

 • Well, people I saw the phone and played around with it!!To all of you that saying that its sucks, what are u talking about? Are u doing it on purpose? The phone is great. The camera is the best I ever saw!!!You move around and it doesnt blur at all!!! The video is very good for a mobile!! Yes it loses some movements but what do you expect? Its not a video camera its a mobile!!!Go buy a camera if you like something better!!!!!!!!!And about the flash light if you want to take something from a distance go buy a photo camera!!!You cant expect from a mobile to have all these things!!!Also do u know many phones that comes out with a data cable? Of course not!!! Its obvious that these things you have to buy them on your own!!!About the mp3s its obvious that you have to buy a memory card!!!! God, people get real!!!I read all of your comments and I didnt want to buy it but when I saw it I was amazed!!! You really dont know what u re talking about!! I think that u dont even saw it!!!You think that nokia is so much better? Then go buy a nokia!!!Of course new mobiles will go out soon and all the time. Make your choise but do not give the others false information about gx30.Finally when you buy a mobile you should read the features and specifications before!!! Everyone knew that it can not play mp3s as ringtones, so dont get upset!!!! Thats all and please please dont give any more false information...GROW UP!!!!!!

 • the mp3 player is fine, theres nothing wrong with it, it sounds great through the speaker and you can get proper songs on to it using a card reader/wirter and put them straight on to the card

 • yea this fone has all the good features but the major prob is the features dont work as good as others. especially mp3 player. 100kb is like 10 seconds and what kind of song is that?

 • this fone's mp3 player is so shit. If any of you are trying to buy this piece of shit don't even think about it. the max memory of file you can transfer to your fone is only 100kb. What kind of fuking song is 100kb? the camera laggs as well. the flash is bright but doesnt flash to the long distance. video recording is only 400kb. which is shorter than a minute. if anyone kno how to increase the max size of file you can send to your fone plz tell me

 • annoiying thing to comment about camera: very poor in dark conditions, it does have a flash but annoying thing is when you turn it on it stays on constantly instead of just flashing when taking pic, makes it impossible to take pics of people (light hurts their eyes in dark)

 • This phone has almost perfect features, but i noticed that it has no integrated handsfree speaker, isn't it???

 • Im trying to decide weather to get this phone or the Nokia 7610 or should i hold out for another one

 • this phone represents the best step forward in mobile tech for years. nothing compares with. i mean a 1million pixcel camera, bluetooth, mp3 and all the improved features from to gx20. what more do you people want, it wont do your washing or take the dog for a walk but if theres better in this country then tell me. i work for vodafone and trust me theres nothing better.

 • Hi. Can the phone play mp3s of more then 128kb/sec if you upgrade it or something? Wille it be able to do that via upgrading or is the phone to poor for like 256kb? I want to use it as an mp3 player, but that is kind of important since some of my mp3s are 192 or 256....

 • Another thing about GX30 is that in order to have photos in yr picture phonebook, photos have to be stored in the handset memory i.e. if ya move pictures from yr handset memory to the memory card it deletes photos in yr picture phonebook. It's very fuckn frustrating who wants pictures of people in their handset memory 4eva???

 • Yea I got a SGx30 cos I thought it was the meanest fone eva but Iv'e had it 4 a week and its actually shit: MP3's can't be used as ringtones, the memory card that comes wit it will only store 1 or 2, Bluetooth can't be used without a heatset: there goes transfering pictures to mates fones for nuthn, the camera images once sent get converted to half a megapixel cos the NZ network can't handle them and all for an awesum price of $1299NZ yud have to madaz to waste ya money especially as theres gonna be heeps of macdaddy fones on the market very shortly everybody hold up and wait youll be glad ya did. I know I work 4 Vodafone!!! Peace out.

 • good

 • This phone is miles away from the others! Most of us want a mobile with a spectacular camera ,so GX30 is the absolut solution! and the rest features of this phone are also brilliant! don't hear so many opinions that sharp sucks us! these peoples maybe are so idiot that can't use the abilities and the features of this mobile. it needs only little brain. gx30 beats all the rest phones. up the sharps!!!

 • i have sharp gx30 and it s cool!don t here these shits who give it a bad name. if you want more details e- mail me

 • Hello!!! I m looking for some detailed information about the Sharp GX30. My questions are: How many minutes can you capture on video (storing it to a MMC)? Does the sound synchronises with the frames? Does it have a flash? The menu comes out with many colors or just a few ones? How about the sound of mp3s? Can u listen loud enough or the volume is low?Is it easy to put mp3s to the phone and how?Can u send pictures or video clip from the mobile, through mail? How many hours can u listen to mp3s before the batery runs out? Can u use mp3s as alarm clock? Can u edit the pictures? How many modes of picture taking has it? Does it have a night mode?Does it have a loud speaker? Thats about it!!!!!!!!!!! My thanks to everyone who will answer!!!! Please mail me!!!!!!

 • The camera is hard to use simply because it needs to have a long exposure as the lens is so tiny and doesnt capture alot of light (same with all cameras on mobiles). If you set the shutter speed to fast it works better but you need more light to take the picture. I've used this phone for almost a month and I'm now quite good at taking photos, I'm going to print a few to see how they look. I use a packard bell card reader, and it's VERY easy to put mp3s, midi files and pictures onto the card. The Bluetooth/infa-red problems and price of this phone make it a bit of a rip-off but its the price you've got to pay if you want the BEST phone on the market. And phones4u site it says minimum price for handset is 150? Never seen anywhere where it is free! And remember, you can change your tariff after 1 month with Vodafone.

 • Had this phone for 2 weeks and have just returned it for a few reasons. Yes screen is great but camera tracking is REALLY slow, anything that moves even slightly is blurry so its difficult to take any photos that show off the quality of the screen(people never stay TOTALLY still). Video capture is almost unusable coz of the same thing. I got this phone coz I want to play mp3's and there's not much going in UK right now (tried mpx200 - totally crap avoid) and i can't try it out coz it only comes with mono headset and stereo headsets will not be available for AT LEAST 1 month - some much cooler phones coming available by then. Doesn't come with a data cable either so can't try out much else in the way of connectivity. Also bugged by non-active flip and no voice-dialling - pretty stupid for a clamshell. It does have some cool features - torch/camera flash is great, SD card, external screen etc. I think its worth waiting for some of the next handsets coming - most of which 1Mpixel or better anyway.

 • as far as i know all u can do with the calender is to input up to three notes/reminders on each day. You can get the pictures if u put the settings so they save the pictures to the memory card and then buy a seperate card reader and they just come up as normal jpegs

 • Also, can the photos be downloaded to the computer directly from the memory card without using MMS? Thanks a heap!

 • Just wonder if anyone could tell me anything about the "organizer" feature. 'Coz I've been using a PDA phone for a while & just wondering if the "organizer" does similar stuff as synchronizing calendar & phone book (using the memory card beyond the 500 name capacity). Thank you very much!!!

 • Great features but my earpiece volume seems too low even when on 5 bars, anyone had this problem please help?

 • how can i order this phone on internet. and i lving in canada , can i use this phone here thank you for your help

 • hi all, I've just upgraded my GX10 to the all mighty GX30, all my mates have different makes, all with Bluetooth, imagine my excitement to find my phone(GX10) made to look sleeker, better camera, 8mb starage, mp3's and......bluetooth, I could then join in sending pics via bluetooth, only the GX 30 does let you do that, all you can do is connect to a bluetooth headset, all my mates in the office laughing at me signing that contract. Sharp have ripped us off with the bluetooth, just to get us to send pics via MMS. Not happy :-(

 • I think the battery is ok, but thats a matter of opinion, I have had no problems with using a seperate card reader/writer while using a 128 mmc card and only takes a couple of minutes to load a whole album on to the card through the writer. Also you can add words to the T9 input, you do this by typing it in with out T9 on and it should automattically save it. Also the only reason u had to view the pic through a computer is becos one of the phones (sender or reciever) has not been set up so they can recieve them, this should be free to do it.

 • 200 minutes contract in uk - phone was FREE and they gave me 50.00 cashback - thats not bad - but only from PHONES4U - NOT Vodaphone shop - they will RIP u off BIGTIME - Had this for three days - so far problems as follows - NO mp3 for ring tone - no usb cable as yet and with 256 Mb upgrade say goodbye to your evening if u want to sit for hours while u load up the memory card with mp3's using the infra red pants. Note normal headphones will not fit so i don't know if an adapter is available and if the sound is in Mono or what - Also only 128kps Single bit rate files are supported. For thos smart alecs who think they can load up the memory card using a "Reader" think twice - i already corrupted one Card by doing this - using a Card Reader - which is obviously NOT a Writer. Also Battery life is pants i'm on 1 pip after 36 hours so charge every night required. OK - on to text - Photo messages not initially set up apparently - i sent a photo from another phone to the GX30 and surprise surprise i got a text message linking me to a web site to log in and view it - i mean HELLO does that sound like crap or what. Anyway another call to Vodaphone and i'm told the phone will receive picture texts within 24 hours - NOT impressed. After you have the phone for approx 48 hours you will receive a call from Vodaphone asking u to pay an additional 4 per month for a loyalty free upgrade after 1 year - i told them to shove it... On the whole i am impressed with the camera and phone functions. Have only had bluetooth headset for short period of time and seems to work ok - closing the lid does'nt hang up the phone as someone previously said - think they have a setting wrong somewhere... Anyway not too many accesories available as yet - i'm using a modified belt case from a GX20 in the mean time - if anyone comes up with a better way of getting MP3's onto the dam phone via the memory card - give me an email... PS T9 text is pain in arse as you cant add to the dictionary - PANT

 • can i send audio from bluetooth or data?? has it got themes?can you personalize it more?

 • can it take mp3 or midi or wav ringtones?does it sound nice??about the mp3 player.is it nice?what memory do you prefer?how long does the battery holds?

 • I've had this phone for a few days now and all i can say is that the screen is AMAZING! its very high resolution means you can hardly see the actual pixels (unless you look really close of course!). at times its just like looking at a high resolution printed image! its got a whole load of gimmecky features like video camcorder, high resolution camera, mp3 player, etc etc. none of which are professional quality, but are either as good as the best phones on the market or better. For example the camera on this phone is the BEST i've seen on any phone! there's some neat touches which dont really do much for the phone but definitly add to the wow factor. IE a disco light, wallpapers for BOTH the internal and external screens, decent quality external speaker, and of course polyphonic as well as WAV ringtones. its more a phone you can show off to people (trust me you'll be doing a lot of that!) than one with features you cant live with out. its not a smartphone so dont expect high end features like outlook synchronisation, web browsing (crappy WAP browsing only), file management, contacts synchronisation with PIM software, etc etc. everyone i've shown the phone to is blown away by the quality of the screen!

 • i prefer to buy a video camera than GX30. am i so stupid to give so much money for a mobile? it's just a phone my friends...

 • okay here are the answers to all yo ppls questions? the sharp gx30 is a quadband phone and it can not play mp3s as ringtones. the probable reason that u cannot send pics via bluetooth or infrared is because all vodafone cares about is getting money, money and money!! so you have to be stuck with mms!

 • are you sure there's no USB, coz i have had a Sharp GX30 for nearly 3 weeks and vodafone told me to wait a couple of weeks before accseories i.e. usb data cable to come out.

 • does it have video capabilites? if so, isit smoothe while recording videos ? does it lag? and how long can it record?thans

 • has it got generally mp3 player.not for ringotnes.just hearing music?

 • does it support midi files??or anything lese for ringtones?

 • you CAN NOT use mp3 files as ringtones but the normal ringtones are pretty good anyway, the bluetooth can only be used with bluetooth handsfree units.

 • Can i put mp3 files for ringtones?? if it is does it sound nice? how about the battery life?is ti long?

 • When can i buy it in The Netherlands ?

 • Does it support mp3 ringtones"?generally the camera worth?

 • Fantastic phone but a few short fallings... the Bluetooth is audio only... not data... Why??? and the infrared is only available to connect to the pc not to use to send images to other phones etc.

 • It's very good phone, and for the first time I saw my friend use it, his model GX22, but I am going to wait for GX32... When the stock will be available ?especially in Hongkong market

 • CAN SOMEONE ANSWER THE QUESTIONS PLEASE!!! --------------------------------------- DOES THE PHONE PLAY STERIO MP3 FILES??? --------------------------------------- !!!YES!!! OR !!!NO!!! --------- --------

 • Generally this phone does it worth bying? and can i put mp3 for ringtones?waht quality do you prefer??any problems??bugs !!\ sx1 or sharp gx 30

 • guys im just wondering. is this phone a triband( like they say it here on gsmarena ) or a quad-band phone?

 • sorry i didnt mean next gx30 i meant the next in line for the gx generation e.g. gx40 :)

 • I have purchased this phone for free on contract with 30 a month from the link in the uk. The camera has got me all hyped u for the next sharp gx30. although im a bit worried about the bluetooth on it. i can search for devices but cant do nuttin with my mates bluetooth phones? it wud be better if the phone came with a datacable. Also i aint sure whether the phone can play MP3 ringtones yet, the onboard memory isnt 2mb its 8mb. and i upgraded the standard 8mb sd card to a 256mb card, yey :). but dont know how to put mp3 on my phone from the bluetooth on my laptop. so i just bought an sd card reader for 5 on ebay. not much to ask for as its easier than sending and receiving. Anyway good phone features:9 camera:10 size:7 Quality:9. A phone deffinately worth considering although i was tempted to go for the NEC e616 3G fone, but i got this in da end :)

 • I just got the GX30 last week. its a great phone but only one problem. I dont think that you can add words to the dictionary when writing SMS messages and are in T9 text mode. This is annoying as its not so easy to switch from T9 to normal text input. Maybe I am missing something????

 • tell how much for this item are was so like this item if can u do that for me let me this amount of this or send first so that i will prepare money for it thanks.

 • even the sharp fans starts to talk and say nokia and se is shit ????? WOW,,,, what r u talking about ppl... this phone is great ... i used sharp gx20 and yes the camera is awesome.... but thats it .... nothing more... phone like shit... battery like shit .. signal like shit.... software like shit... i dont know about sharp gx30.... i aminterested but i didnt use it..... and u who say 6600 is toy..... what planet did u come from ??? planet " i am stupid i hate nokia" did u use the phone ??? everyone and all the sites who tested this phone gave it an excellent marks specially with the great keypad and solid design. and lets not talk about the software and the features cuz i know someone thinks like u will never understand what this phone can do.... SHARP IS ONLY A CAMERA.... THATS IT.... and remember the sharp gx10 ??? THE WORST MOBILE PHONE IN THE WORLD and it is not me ... thats according to vodafone ... did u hear about the vodafone or u dont have it on ur planet ? did u sharp gay hear about the nokia 7610 ? or the SE K6700 AND S700 ???? DAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

 • Why dont u all grow up!!! FFS its a phone, yeah it kicks arse and its awesome. If you like nokia why come on here and slag a phone off u aint even touched?!?!?!?! I hate nokia phones but i dont go review one and say dont buy it, jesus are you all kids?!?!?!?!?

 • is the gx-30 triband? or is it quad-band? because gsmareana says its triband, but on some other websites they say its quadband..

 • i have just bought this phone and it is the best phone i have ever played with, i would never sell this phone because it is just the best!!!!!!!

 • Once again, the person below me is a Sony Ericsson and Nokia hermit. The most over hyped brands ever, while more talented and better companies like Sharp, Siemens, Panassonic and Motorola get thrown into the dark and not even considered competitors. The 6600 a great phone?! C'mon, even a fake breasted individual feels less cheap and plasticy than the toy-like 6600 and the P900, for your info, i've tried it and it's so hyped up to be the phone it really isn't. Nokia is not a majoy player in the mobile world the way it used to be, and Sony Ericsson has a few good phones, T610/P800, but other than that you can't say SE is a mahoy player because of a few good phones. The old Ericsson phones were had much more character than the current brand such as the T39. Nothing extraordinary so why are two shitty companies so hyped to be mega? A load of rubbish are the overrated 6600 which can't even play MP3 files unlike the underrated SX1 (Gorgeous phone) and the Transformer-like toy phone, P900 which thinks it's a PDA but can't hold a candle to the XDA II. Oh, and all these Nokia and SE people are probably mid life crisis hermits still living with mummy and daddy.

 • The camera on the phone is far superior to anything out there at the moment. As a phone it ain't that good to be honest. The menu is good enough but thats it!!. No fun or mystery about the phone. If all you wanna do is make and receive calls and texts and take good pictures then fine. If you want a phone that can do more than you ever imagined then get the P900 or 6600. I have both. P900 is the best for multimedia. 6600 is the best "phone". Hope this helps.

 • Can anyone tell how can i solve a problem with the infrared? because i can't connect to my pc with infrared and i have it on my pc. I have windows xp with a IRmate 210 by COM port and it links with the phone, but after a few while tells me that can't transfer the information to check my connection.

 • Can you lazy people stop asking questions about this (based on specs) and get your ass over to, http://213.249.206.60/europe/uk/features/features.asp?id=gx30 You'll find a full list of features and specifications on the phone. Also, Sony Ericsson phones are certainly not crap. The upcoming SEs are inferior to the Sharp GX30, based on specifications and reviews. However, the GX30 has weaknesses - such as the VERY POOR bluetooth options. Sharp are the king of the castle for now, but SE and Nokia have some plans up their sleaves.

 • Why sharp can not synchronize with other brand names?like bluetooth to transfer files?it's ridiculous!!!!

 • Got the phone as a free upgrade! Initally loved it. photo quality was superb! Unfortunately there is no voice dialling from bluetooth and when you are on a call via bluetooth headset, when you shut the phone it hangs up the call!?! So I've got to leave the phone in it's open position and try to stuff it in my pocket when in the car making calls! No THANKS!! Returning it tomorrow, revert back to trusty Sony Er t68i until there new range come out in June/July.

 • So is it better than the NEC 616? and is the bluetooth any good?

 • i got it for 170 quid at 15 a month, its a nice phone with an awesome screen, camera is a bit slow but quality of pics is gr8. The light is also really strong, and the mp3s sound pretty good through speaker as well, and no mp3s cant be used as ringtones,

 • Actuality... is a astonished mobile ithink it's the best mobile i seen & i well see it in me life... pleas pleas please i wont to now how can i buy this mobil and how much is it??? (price in dollar ) ahmed from kuwait

 • Way overrated. This looks like any other flip phone but costs USD 1,000. Crazy, it is just a fucking phone - come on guys.

 • The phone is quite good shame about the 8mb card you can only fit 1 or 2 mp3s on i thought the camera would be slightly better.

 • Is it nice phone?anyone who have bought it is happy?any problems??but why sharp is against the other manufactures??it has no compatibility?why does this happens?

 • GX 30 you cannot connect to your PC with Bluetooth (you swap files with infra red or a card reader). This phone only has Bluetooth for headset or car kit profile. It will not play MP3 ringtones (NEITHER DOES THE NOKIA 6230)

 • does it play mp3 ringtones or what ? i know this question has been asked before but alot of people are commenting without knowing the truth, that hungarian test said something about ringtones in mp3 ....so please, what's up ? Also if someone mentions he and not she, deal with it, some of you that have been typing in this forum sound like little children, so relax, this is for informative purposes only, no?

 • Of course it only plays MP3's in MONO.... What do you think... it has seven speaker dolby THX sound?

 • the best product of its kind

 • how do i connect my gx30 to my pc via bluetooth is there a download i need

 • from what I have seen on the net, it will only play mp3's in mono!! I would like to know if this is true or not, also can it play 192kbps mp3s?

 • this phone i wait to much time,is a dream phone,is the max, when i have the phone in my hand i return crazy

 • its beautiful and im gunna get it!!!

 • can't you transfer information via bluetooth? i need to know!

 • just found this wiked thing with ringtones and stuff, you can get the light to flash different colours (disco mode), in time with the ringtone, and it vibrates with the beat!!! Don't know if it works with mp3s or downloaded ringtones but if it does it'll be bad-ass. One other thing, no infa-red or bluetooth link to other phones, which is a bit gay.

 • I have this phone. I havent tried any other Sharp gx's, but camera is really good. Just a little tricky to focus. But video camera is crappy, it's in gp4 format (whatever that is), not mp4. You can record for very long though. Problem with photos is that they take long to load up. But it has a good editor thing like you can get on your PC for effects etc. The phone is big, but quite light. One of the biggest clamshells.

 • I really would like to buy this phone. How much is it SIM-FREE/ UNLOCKED? Is it possible to have it shipped to the Philippines? :) Thank You!

 • Can someone tell the right especifications for this phone? because some tell that don't have mp3 ringtones but the Features tell that it has and about the alarm, etc etc. If someone has the manual the better and send me to my mail please. Many thanks.

 • i have gx30 if you want to buy

 • no you can't have mp3 ringtones mine cost 150 on 9th March

 • Stunning screen and quality pictures. Battery life poor. (Big screen + SD card writing takes it out of the 780mah battery)plus alarm only sounds when the phone is switched on!-never heard of that before.Basic Bluetooth no file exchange OR voice dialing facility. CD comes with GX30 is very good. Music composition application is fantastic, as is the file swapping Application via I/Red to PC. (you can't B/Tooth or I/red files to a mate standing next to you, but you could exchange SD cards (512Mb max size or 128 Mb MMC supported)

 • wot exactly iz bluetooth? i dont understand y do peeps want it on fones so much?

 • This phone is the best i saw. Doesn't have USB port but i think we can tranfer data thrue the infrared, can't we?!

 • GX30 is now available in your local Vodafone store. Pay monthly price is around 100-200 pounds (quote from my email from Vodafone today).

 • i will buy it but ı dont know the date when it is available and its price??

 • it does have bluetooth but you cannot use it to send data with, you can only use with a bluetooth headset

 • hi there folks the fone is offically coming out on the 12th of march SO DONT LISTEN 2 ANY OTHER DATES! i cant wait hehehe!!!!!!!!! only 4 days 2 go!!!! by the way u CAN buy the sharp gx30 on the vodafone website but if i woz u i'd wait until it comes out in all shops and websites not just vodafone!

 • To those who own it, can you have MP3 ringtones like it says in the specs.?

 • of course the sharp gx30 has bluetooth and it also has infrared. just go and check the specs at the vodafone website. the gx30 is da best in da world, cant wait till i get one

 • bit of an ugly fone though

 • I really want to buy it, it seems great!!! Can't wait!

 • it is really good.

 • if anyone knows the actual date, please email me. Thanks

 • this is the best phone in the world

 • wen does this fone come on sale in India?

 • Had an original gx10 and the gx30 looks like a gr8 phone. i shall wait for the motorola mpx100 to come out before buying, as that will have a true megapixel camera as well as smartphone functions.

 • The fone will cost more than 300 quid the Gx20 costs about that in Vodafone shops and carphone warehouse

 • Ha ha ha. I laugh about Sharp! In the Brands by rate on the second place? That must be a mistake!

 • when will it arrive can you tell me i am in england

 • does these mobiles hold long the battery???how do you find them,?

 • everything you want is in this mobile phone. the antenna doesn t bother me at all. the only remark is that there is no usb port to download images and polyphonic ringtones.

 • This is for the producers, wen is it beeing released in India?

 • i think this will be the best camera phone with ccd megapixel camera and 7x zoom.all the features especially memory 8mb internal and sd card slot will make this the best phone better than any other phone present in market.according to me this phone has first rank in mobiles

 • This phone is offically due out on the 17th of march in all vodafone retail shops and the 14th of march on the Vodafone website. The phone will be about 300 on pay as you go and 69 upwards depending on how much you pay a month. If you visit a vodafone shop they will give you info on the phone

 • It has all the features i am looking for in a phone. If I engage all features at once, i afraid it will hang... Antenna is still there.

 • Considering the Sharp GX20/22 is about 350 [still], I won't be surprised if this sells at 450 on Pay As you Go or 250 on Contract. Don't hold me on this, I'm just predicting.

 • I was about to buy either Samsung E710 or Sharp GX20 but now that I saw this I want it!! It looks nice and the functions are great!!! I can't wait! Any clues on the price??

 • About time to, this is the sort of phone I have been looking for. 1.1 Meg camera, SD slot, blue tooth 8 Megs of memory and TFT 265, 000 screen. I hope can find one sim free and not costing the earth.

 • Release date in UK is March 2004, and rest of Europe by April 2004. No price yet. More information at www.vodafone.com

 • do u guys have gx30 already ? if u do how much is it?

 • i hope the GX30 comes out to buy before April because the specification is just amazin'! i actually cant wait for it to come out!!!! if you know the exact date will you e-mail me please?!?!? thanks

 • The p900 is a damn amazing phone and as a GX20 owner im jealous of some of its features but the Sharp phones are not designed to compete as multimedia phones but as camera phones. The sharp GX20's main strength is the amazing pictures it can take and the screen used to display them which is larger than the p900's. A mate of mine has the p900 and as such i'm able to compare both phones and even my friend agrees the camera on the Sharp GX20 is streets ahead of the camera on the p900. When the GX30 becomes available i will be trading in my GX20 for it. The pictures the GX20 can take even in total darkness are of amazing quality for a phone but the camera on the GX30 will be 3 times as powerfull! For those of you that are bitching about the phone only having a 2mb memory please remember that the GX30 has an SD card slot and SD cards are available in sizes from 32mb all the way up to 512mb!!!

 • Due for release in the middle of March. Expect to see it in Vodafone shops across Europe by April.

 • nice phone but damn its BIG!! brick size

 • is this phone have screensaver

 • when is this phone coming how much is it what web can i buy it

 • I do not understand why Sony Ericsson is considered a major manufacturer next to the likes of Nokia and Motorola. Aside from the P800/900 thier phones are shit. So when the Sendo X comes out (awesome phone, terrible manufacturer) comes out, everyone will say the Sendo market is a major maunfacturer.

 • this phone is the best on the market well done to sharp because it will not be long before nokia and se bow down to you, for just bringing the best handset out the market as seen

 • I am sitting reading all of your comments and thinking do some of you actually have decent phones? Nokia as dominated the market for so long and I think it is time for somebody else to and to be honest you can forget about se and motorola, se have brought one good model out with the p800 and now p900, but as a gx20 owner sharp really do rock, its not all about looks but the menu functions and specs to the sharp phones are amazing not to mention the picture quality, with the new gx30 out I can not wait to get one, sharp really are the next manufactuer to be reckoned with.

 • It has incredible functions and the display may be amazing, but it looks like SHIT, very very UGLY!!!!

 • html?

 • fair point, nothin can compete with se p900 and to be honest i got one yesterday and it rocks, battery life is good and everything about is awesome, so sharp have still to go;)

 • In response to the comment made earlier about people who are interested should commit suicide. Mate you really haven't got a clue have you!!!! People comment on phones in this site so other people can get an idea of what a certain phone is like. If you haven't got a valid opinion regarding phones. Then I suggest you grow up, shut and up and let people who could actually afford to buy a phone, voice there opinions.

 • i read at mobileburn.com that this phone has 8mb internal memory but this site says it has 2mb. hope its the former!plus it is also supposed to have an integrated flash! really cool! sharp should be rightly priced and marketed to be a real success they should come up with more t.v ads like nokia and se. or even motorolla

 • very beautiful Well done sharp

 • This phone is the hell of the hell...

 • I am a man, but please don't neglect SHE in your sentences. ''Anyone can buy the phone he wants?!'', C'mon, you forgot to mention a woman!! It offends me that people sometimes fail to neglect women as potential buyers of phones/cars or have thier own businesses and always refer to only 'He' and never 'she'. It's not just for he, it is for SHE too! Plus, Nokia and Sony and Moto shouldn't be worrying, all phones are technically cool but as an owner of the GX20, this will be every phone owner's dream phone if it is affordable.

 • Excellent phone - but only 2 MB Memory

 • What do you guys mean burn SE or nokia sucks. Who cares anyone can buy the phone he wants so who cares which phone is better. Not everyone is going to be able to afford this sharp anyways. A final thought any phone in the european market should go see the phones in japan and korea any phone whithany self respect would commit suicide. In other word who cares which f**king phone is the best.
