Siemens S55 - User Reviews

  • It's saterday 2019-10-19......used the S55 until yesterday since 2004! (I had it second hand) Bought 2 times in between another phone which was broken in a few months. Than the good old S55 came out of the drawer. The thing has fallen a million times in 3 pieces. Just pick up the phone, the battery and the cover and put it together and off you go. But know some buttons starts to complain about their job. Wondering if there are people that had them longer than me :-)

  • i had this phone in 2004 best of the best external camera whith flash o good solution today after years of using i lost it now i am using a motorola zn5

  • Changing the greeting message: Menu > set-up > display now scroll to: own greeting. That's Siemens language for greeting message :-) It is on page 36 of the manual. Hopefully it is allowed to place a link: Good luck!

  • Have had S55 for about 9 years but cannot manage to change the greeting message. Can anyone help

  • where i can repair this mobil my key is not working

  • On my S55 the 4-way button does not work to the left direction and sometimes to the down direction. How can I repair it?

  • I have one available, but lower row of keys are not working.

  • Where can I purchase either a Siemens C55/M55 orS55 Thank you

  • very bad keyboard..i have changed about 3 of them

  • Sure this is the best looking phone even until now Still use S55 till today, and the best part of this phone is that its bluetooth works flawlessly even compared to today-phone! Although older than M65 but technically S55 is better than M65 in all aspect, the best S-Class from Siemens.

  • Yes I have to agree this was the best phone I ever owned. So small & so easy to use. Every phone since has been frustrating, but this was a pleasure to use. I even had it set up for email, bluetooth as a laptop modem. I still have it, I wish I could get it unlocked & use it again, but unfortunately I now live in a country that doesnt use gsm. Y know what, it still has power even though i havent used it in over 5 years & not charged it in that time!

  • i used this phone for 7 years also & ive just dusted it of after sitting in a drew for 2 years & it still kept the time & date ive given it to my son while were on holiday

  • I called it "the beauty".....I really miss siemens mobile product, cos they produce Great phone!!! but careless to preserve their business....too bad....hiks...hiks

  • The BEST phone they ever produced in my opinion. Siemens was an excellent mobile until the BenQ merger then they went way down.

  • Great one 7 years with my favorite one

  • Google up Siemens Data Suite. Lots of site available for downloading. Best if you have a data cable though.

  • great phone but would like to be able to download the setup software so i can communicate with the darn thing.

  • Still using this great phone(5 years).

  • ahh i remember this phone well. especially the ad tag line that said "say it with 8080 pixels" when mms was still new and cameras in mobiles was just star trek generation. a good mobile. great features. very long in the tooth now but will still be pretty acceptable. great job

  • lo compre en 2003, hasta hoy lo sigo usando, ha sido excelente, la recepcion, la claridad, para su tiempo salio adelantado, no he cambiado de telefono porque no encuentro nada mejor. los felicito.

  • i buyed this phone in 2003 for 430 euro in germany is amazing siemens now only motorola is doiing mobiles phones the best of the best

  • Best phone! Still have this phone and using it. I will try to get another one as spare.

  • The best phone I have used. It can do almost all, it is small, weight is just above 80 gram. The user interface is very powerful. I have started to use it again, despite its weak display and a missing key. I wish I could buy a new S55! I'm still in love with this phone.

  • Ah, yes, the fantastic Siemens S55! The good old days I had this phone and you what? It rocked!!! Simple, powerful, nice ergonomic design even for lefties as me, features that met many of our needs! A lovely phone that I always remember quite enthusiastically. Thank you Siemens for the great S55.

  • a great little phone. i had one many years ago and loved it. great sounding ringtones at the time. my only niggle was a plug in camera. what was siemens thinking. baaaad idea. other than that awesome little mobile.

  • I could not understand you.pls tel me open rington in setting phone option in[on,off, beep] not open. How i open.

  • I am user of s55 siemens but in option ring tone ,blue truth irda, file system not open .no rington open .How I can pls

  • I want the siemens S55, my is bad and I cannot see it anywhere in Nigeria. Mailing Address: P.O.Box 3956, Trans-Amadi Ind. Layout, Port Harcourt. Nigeria. email: [email protected]

  • Such a terrific experience it was to use this lovely and extremely nice phone. The shooter that was an option attached to the phone, though VGA one, but great quality for that camera. I never had a problem, or complaint on this phone that I used for two years. Thank you Siemens.

  • I've been using this wonderful phone last 4 years. If you check for SAR results, it has also excellent results (0,53). I've changed keypad once, this is the only negatif feature.

  • The Phone is really great with its exceptional features and its low cost but after i used it for approximately two years-the keypad start to fall off. it started from the 1 to the end key. then the scroll key too frizzed so i have to use the volume control at the site for the scrolling. So i would reccomend they chekc this and bring out a better keypad for us. thanks

  • In my opinion the best phone of my life!Despite the low-color display and falling keyboard. It has all businessman need for work - great calendar, bluetooth for swapping contacts, IrDA to to connect to old gadgets, camera...Hey! I want it back!:-D It stays in my heart!!:-)

  • i've used S55 for two trs.. the best thing is tht its size is small n compatible.. n yes..wit one yr usage itself de keys were almost fallin off n few keys stoppd working.. still de fone has many features n its really gud except jus 4 de keypad..

  • Best phone ever made ;D

  • Great phone. Very good sound quality, both for voice calls and Midi ringtones. Small size and very good design. Exceptionally long battery life when running with energy saving screen saver. Drawbacks - weak reception and loss of signal where other phones still operates. Keys are low quality with tendency to become inoperable over time. It's not possible to save SMS in SIM card memory. Bad if you need to take SIM to other phone with your messages with it.

  • just replaced this one with a nokia6120. had the s55 for about 5 years and was pretty tough. even threw it against a wall in anger (not at the phone) and it was still working issue free until i replaced it last month. wasn't too huge a choice of ringtones but it does enough to get by. eventually the keys started falling out, but i think thats partly to do with the afformentioned anger issues. peace

  • Workaholic. It has fallen to the ground several times. It has fallen to the toilet. And it is still working. The battery is good and everything is good.

  • I is smart phone. It's pixel is low & colour is alos fade. It's memory is 999.something kb.Inspite of this small features is is very workable. It support midi, amf, mmf, wav and also bmp,jpj file. It's optional camera is very very much strong and clear (on pc) but not in set.U can connect with bluetooth and transfer them into pc.After all if u want little satisfaction i think u can get from it thank u for reading the message.Bye........................

  • It was and is a GREAT phone due to its unique features at the time it was produced; I`v had it for 3 years and am crazy for it...i can`t still find a replacement for it! I love its low tones cause it doean`t harm my ear and my concentration while doing sth,and using it is so simple,it is so practical! The cover and the size is surprisingly fantastic and so fit! It is so unique!

  • I've had one for nearly 2 years and there are so many things wrong with it: - The sound alerts, eg for an SMS message received, can hardly be heard - I get jealous when I hear other phones give a healthy beep - Sometimes it decides to vibrate but not ring - Sometimes it decides to do neither when a call comes in - I can hardly hear the caller - The buttons drop off - bad luck if you're out and you didn't notice. I've lost 3 - You can't download any compatible games - You can't enter new ringtones - The manual is written by someone who doesn't speak English, making it incomprehensible (to me) - The manual leaves out masses of things so it's a question of trial and error - Internet and email connections - forget it - You can't receive pictures and lots more I will NEVER EVER buy a Siemens phone again

  • the phone is very potable phone but ever since i got this phone i have never used the camera attached to it for once and battery low all the time

  • best phone ever i hadit for two years before it was stolen from me i canot ghet over it

  • Great phone. Had mine for 2 years and still can't find a replacement I'd prefer (although the Moto PEBL is tempting me). Things that make me want to keep it for ever... * Very small (but not so small you can't use it * Very lightweight * Nice rounded corners ... all that means you can fit it in your trouser pocket and sit down without crippling yourself!!! * Nice easy-to-use menu * Good predicative text * Good business features But it does have some down sides... * Battery life is good... unless you turn Bluetooth on (then it last a day on standby if you are lucky!) * Bluetooh has been a little tempremental when connecting to my car kit (Sony-Ericsson HCB300). * Keyboard and buttons are not robust (I've had to replace them several times). Cheers, ColinU

  • i have this siemens S55 that i bought about a month ago but ever since i bought i have never seen the blutooth working i have gone around the phone but it seems there is no option to even send data/file using bluetooth. also it does not vibrate even after selecting the silent alert and the ringin is too low that make me miss calls when i am in a noise place even if i am in a quiet place i have to constantly whatch the phone so as not to miss any call. anyone have solution to this pls email me. thanks..

  • The phone is excellent but I need help on how I can increase the memory if possible. Its just not enough for me but I love the phone.

  • Am about to replace this phone but here are my comments after several years' use for what it's worth. Good points - compact, light weight, attractive, menus simple to use. Bad points - buttons on the side get pressed by accident every time you pick it up, keys stick when trying to text, hard to hear caller even on max volume, poor reception in areas where other phones give good reception.

  • I had a S55 and it was a really trouble with the signal...very bad... but please why in this picture he don't look how it should...with color display?

  • Does anyone know how much they are worth now? I've had mine for 5-6 years, but i want an upgrade now. Its working fine but has two or three scratches on it but otherwise looks good.

  • Got one two years ago, only real problem i have with it is that there are simply TOO many functions on it. Although the buttons tend to fall off like leaves of a tree in autumn(I fixed mine with a couple of drops of secondglue)and the extra camera tends to snaps pictures only to display blurry images on the screen, and one cannot really hear it when it goes off in your pocket, even when it is set on loudest. But the battery lasts for ages without any need for recharging, something of a problem with all my previous siemens phones, and it can take quite a beating wihout acting funny in any way. So if you are not looking for a phone that is pretty, but you are looking for a reliable phone with loads of extras, then definately don`t pass this one up.

  • BLUETOOTH - they forgot to mention the bluetooth up there!... :))

  • Well, I've been using this phone for about 2.5 yeas now.. and to be honest It never went out of use... and still surprising me! if not facinated with hot topics (hi-res camras.. wave ringtones...) mean if we are talking about proffetional use of the phone, then it is very great and you will never need more cabapilities. all communications are available and very hard duty set. falled thousends of time on the floor and everything you need after that is just pick it up and continue the conversation.. result. this set is very usful phone and friendly too.

  • Had Siemens before and was happy with it, but after I purchased this..I will never ever buy Siemens again. I used this for 2,5 years and must admit that this is certainly not the best choice. It is slow, not very functional, I wouldn't buy it again.

  • My 2nd Siemens (and last). First was a M35 but spent more time in the shop having motherboards replaced than in pocket. Now my S55 is only 1 year old 3 of the number keys have already fallen off and the navigation key no longer works properly. I will never again fall for these cheap junk Siemens phones just because they have lots of features.

  • one of the greatest things about this phone is than u can store as manny sms's as u want. i've just transfered my sms's from phone to computer! I had about 500 SMS on phone memory and there weere still room! old, but still great phone!

  • Still quite feature packed. Light and small. Looks good. Newer S-class Siemens are bigger or heavier and tend to look more cheaply than this one. But to get the full power of this phone you ought to patch it, which requires some technical skill and knowledge (and cancels warranty if you still have one). My favourite patch is that which frees additional memory (up to 1,7M total), with that one you can use this device for reading e-books or add more games or for recording more minutes with dictaphone etc. Minuses of this phone are small keys and shabby LCD (display is 12-bit, but phone manages to use only 8 of them).

  • This is my 2nd Siemens phone, the first one broke with with no explanation. I replaced it with this phone. The phone works great as long as you don't use it. I had this phone for two weeks before the menu buttons broke. Then it would turn off for no reason. Then the phone would ring and I would press the talk button and it would hang up on the person and keep ringing unitl I took the battery out of the back. Maybe I was sold a demented phone but I was NOT happy at all with either of my Siemens phones!!!

  • my siemens S55 has no game in it .how can i view or play the game in my S55

  • the problem i am having with my siemens S55 is that both the blue tooth and the infrared has hung.so,i can't send pictures through the infrared.also i will like to know its phone code

  • I have the problem with S55 when my cellphone wringing isn't stoped for longtime & i have to turn it off please send me good recommendation about it.

  • I've had S55 for two years and am really pleased with it.but I forget my phone code and I entered Worng Code for 3 Times and phone locked. please help me.

  • I've had S55 for two years and am really pleased with it. The functions of the phone are both great for business and personal use. The menus are very well designed and user friendly. You can search easily and fast in the phone book. The keypad is great for typing measages. IT IS EVEN WATERPROOF!! I never used a phone cover but it is still like new.

  • I Have siemens s55, I have entered a wrong phonecode, I have only one trial before the phone is looked, help pleas

  • the best phone ever made...regarding price/quality,all the features you need from a phone. i used it for 2 whole years...very pleased(except the keys, they are breaking regularly),the thing is i got drunk last night and tryied to brake it...dem that was hard to brake

  • please kindly help me out i bought a new s55 siemens phone and now it has develop a software problem please can you send me the cable. hope to hearfrom you soon.

  • The phone is really great.Though I'm presently using M35i but S55 will be my next phone if i'm to use another Siemens.I probably might buy it because of the features i saw when reading through its Specifications and Functions.

  • I had this phone for over a year, I now have the C65. I am a big fan of Siemens phones. The only problem I had with this one was the keypad falling apart. The first time Siemens repaired it, but the second time I had to do it myself, which was easy and cheap, but still not what I'd expect from a phone of this cost. Anyone else had a similar problem?

  • I have S55 2 years now. It,s good and functionally phone. Allmost every Siemens mobile phone have best quality and 2 years warranty (-:. year 2002 it only phone in market wich has VGA-camera (not inside builded), bluetooth, IR, email, Voicememo etc. It have good technology inside and everybody can uppdate this phones software, if you have datacabel, you must only download software from Siemens and uppdate with cabel.(This kind phones you must send to service, if you want uppdate software = Nokia, S-E, Samsung etc.)

  • apostol look for siemens data suite on any free server, like www.data.bg

  • S55 is a great little phone. Sure, it has some flaws, but never anything bad enough to make me want to throw it at a brick wall (as I've experienced with certain Nokia & Ericsson models). The color display is not the best around, but it's nice; the settings interface is a bit quirky, but it works; the only real mistake is the funny key design, but it's not all that bad either, especially since I mostly use the phone with my bluetooth PDA anyway. For a bluetooth GPRS modem, you can hardly beat it. It's very small and discreet, works well and is very cheap. Try to find another reliable bluetooth cell phone for the same price as a second-hand S55! Should I lose mine, I would buy another one instead of updating to a different phone. Good job!

  • i used to use S55 but i have a trouble that my phone was phonecode locked, can you help me?

  • please tell me where can i dowload the data cabel drivers for this phone.Because i lost my cd whit the original dricers.PLESE HELP ME!!!!!

  • good phone with bluetooth and good price and good programe , but it has bad colores

  • I have my S55 for 2 years now. It is THE BEST phone ever. All downfalls mention here are just not correct. I use all of the functions a lot, and they work great. Too bed that later Siemens phones are not as good ;).

  • This phone is a gem. I've had mine for nearly two years now and there simply hasn't been anything to beat it - the only ones close have been the Sony Ericsson and Nokia haven't even come close, despite their enormous range. I use this day in day out for business and the battery is still giving pretty good life. It has never failed me, and whilst I agree the keys could be a bit small for some it really is some performer. Remember when this came out there really were only a couple of Bluetooth phones in the UK - The 6210/6310 brick, and the flimsy T68i. To last that amount of time in todays competative mobile phone world is a credit to Siemens - a pity they seem to have left Bluetooth out of so many of their phones since

  • Very nice devise I love it, the only think is about the display, size (Small) and clarity (low resolution).

  • My s55 phone off and never turn on pleas help me ... :-(

  • Theres handy buttons on the side you can activate when its in your pocket.

  • If this phone was shit, it would actually be an improvement. The blue tooth modem hangs up straight away before the remote computer your dialing has a chance to answr and then says "Remote computer not responding" Utter crap!

  • i used to use S55 but i have a trouble that my phone was phonecode locked, can you help me?

  • I have one siemens s55 and i think that this gsm is one of the best mobile phones in the last 2 years.if it had camera and a bether display it would be better than sonyericsson t610 in many ways

  • I have entered an incorrect security code and know my phone is disabled and it is requesting for a phonecode. What should I do in this regard.

  • A fone full of annoyances. If you are used to Siemens, you are perhaps used to this shit and think S55 is better. For users of Nokia or Sony, the S55 is just trouble. The manual is a joke, just shows the menu entries and nothing more. Setting profiles and ringtones is a nightmare! You can set a ringtone for the phone, then for the profiles, then for caller groups... Which ringtone will you expect to hear?!? The first thing you have to do when you get a S55 is start downloading software updates and some ringtones that won't make people laugh at you. And some less ugly color schemes. And backgrounds. Then read all of these unofficial forums with secret tricks to remove operator logo, animations and all that ugly shit. If you're 12 years old and from southeast asia, go and buy it. Everyone else, stay away. The screen has only 256 colors and the resolution is terrible! Try the screen test and look at the zigzag/staircase diagonal lines!! And how about the red/blue/green tests! If those are the primary colors, no wonder the pictures look so weird.

  • ES you're talking bullshit Sound quality is simply top! On the loudest level it might be too quiet on some locations, but you can simply switch to handsfree and hold that close to your ear. Do not push it against your ear (it could make you deaf!). Battery live is outstanding. On very light use my battery lasts more than a week with ease On heavy use 4 days. Don't understand why the display is hard to read, maybe in direct sunlight... Keyboard might be a bit to small for some. Never had any problems with it, I have big hands! The softkeys are as logic as can be... That's the big advantage of Siemens phones. The function of the softkeys vary, depending on the function you are using. It takes some time and intelligence to get used to it. But after a while it becomes very logical to work with. It also makes working with the phone very fast. Most people simply don't get it. They are used to 'Nokia-way' of walking through the phone. You know up is always up, down is always down, cancel is always cancel... = very slow way to get done what you want. Reception is very good! On some locations where others have no reception at all this phone still gives 1 block. IRDA worked without a single problem. When i bought my notebook I enabled irda on my phone, put it next to my notebook and i could transfer files within a second.... For software: look around on the web, the latest version of the software is version 91. Not very logical numbering, but it's the latest. Adressbook cannot be sorted using the firstname, if you want that simply swith firstname and surname when entering the contacts. Problem solved....

  • NOOOOOO!!!!!! My S55 was stolen today!! :'( Think I'm going to cry! Can't afford another one :( It's going to be very hard going back to a lesser phone :'(

  • which phone is better a mc60 or ST60?and plz rate them both out of 10 thanx

  • pls tell me how i can get delears of s55 andm60 in nigeriaand the casing. tell me the adress and their bulk prices. i need it urgent send me the information via my e mail [email protected] ugochukwu

  • i will like to know the price of s55 and mc60 . i will like to know the adress of the dealers in nigeria. i will like to know how i can get the casing and the price pls reply on time thanks ugochukwu.

  • The S55 has a very good looking design, so if you want to look cool at the caf or bar, it works well. But if you want a phone to actually use, look somewhere else. The sound quality is terrible, both to the user and the recepiant. Battery life sucks, semi-active users need to recharge at least once a day. Display is har to read. Keyboard is small and uncomfortable (at least to a man). The software is very little intuitive and the use of the softkeys are inconsequent. Irda hardly works. Even with 100% reception, calls are often not received but routed directly to voice mail. Also, the Siemens mobile web is poorly updated and organized. E.g. my phone has version 20 of the firmware. Siemens offers version 16 for download(!?). I was hoping for a newer version to fix some of the firmware glitches. And can someone please tell me how to sort my address book by first name instead of sirname?

  • One of the better phones I've used! I used it for a year. Now Im waiting for th S65. For radio & MP3 buy a music player....this phone its a jewel!

  • Getting rid of this phone. Not bad but plenty of better phoes out there. Shitty screen, and starts to fall apart after not long.

  • i just love it.it inspires me.it really does.

  • This is a great one from Siemens!!! I've use this one for about 1 year. Everything is doing great, although it has only 256 colors, it doensn't matter for me :) One thing that I regreted is, the connectivity. This one has problem in connecting to a PDA. It's IrDA is not quite generic, and you need to install its modem driver when you want to connect it as a dial-up modem on your computer. I don't quite like this way. Besides that, its PC Suite is easy to crash with other synchronising programs installed in the computer. However, other than that, this phone is a great phone. For me myself I can give this phone a score about 7.5/10.

  • i used to use S55 but i have a trouble that my phone was phonecode locked, can you help me?

  • Buy M55 if want to buy this phone. buy a data cable along with M55 instead of spending higher amount on this phone. there will be no need of an IR than. M55 has better features and larger memory than it except the bluetooth.

  • hi i buy it its great phone except 2 things 1- its low color 256 2-i feel it when i put it beside me i mean its radio waves effect on my nervse , any body here find this problem email me plz

  • Don't get this phone. It's shockingly bad! Its a nightmare to use, the worst phone I've ever owned. Cant wait to get rid of it. Really is bad.

  • Sir, Econet line is what am useing, but for some days now is going up/down, gievn me MNT,NITILE,also asking me to select network why? Best regards Emodi

  • Sincerely ? All is EXCELENT...this phone has aeverything!!!The only drawback i see is the poor 256 colour screen.

  • i'm interested in buying your phone

  • before i got this phone, i hated siemens mobile phones.. after trading in my SGH-A800 and top up S$30 for this, i fall in love with it.. quick share with other phones using infared, nice polyphonic ringtones, no-lack menu, advanced MMS compared to nokia 40-Series phones and many many more..

  • i`m lntressted in buying yur phone,i`ll like to pay through bid pay.ps kindly send the paymant add.

  • I''m very recommended this handy. The best phone I ever seen. So far I used S55, all functions have been working and helpfull. I'm very satisfied having this handy. Don't forget to upgrade your S55 firmware to version 20.

  • Not recommended, I have returned mine. This phone has very poor reception if you can get a signal at all!! Very short battery life, is prone to software crashes and although takes fair pictures the separate camera is flimsey hard to use and you will not be able to make out the images on the very poor display. Most of my calls switch to answerphone because I never have a good signal and when I do speak to anyone they say I sound like I am talking from the other end of a very long corridor. It also has problems working with my universal bluetooth handsfree. It is hard to use with confusing software and buttons that you keep pressing every time you pick it up. On the plus side...it looks OK!

  • Great phone, menu better than Nokia, faster than Sony. Excellent camera. Only down side is the 256-color screen.

  • is it agood phone overall

  • I got my S55 a while back and am really impressed with the phone. The features are great, the T9 dictionary picks up a lot more words than my wife's Nokia, the camera attachment is small, light, and come with a carry strap that you can have around your neck and the picture quality is good on high res. I've also installed the Siemens Data Suite and the Xtend Connect software for Notes, subsequently selling off my Palm. The keyboard is nicely laid out. The only criticisms I have of the phone are the Voice memo key which I often press during a call and the battery life last about 3 days when you use the camera often and upload applications and software to the phone. I rate this phone 9,5 out of 10.

  • i bought it, i hate it. the mic on my phone has dropped out, fixed it by hitting the phone eventually, keypad keeps missing letters i type in text messages, phone attachment is crap and fits poorly, it has frozen completely on me so i lost numbers, menus are a pain to navigate, you can't charge and talk in the car.... features are good though.

  • Hi, I decide to purchase a mobile set. if possible, send me printed matters about siemens mobiles and their prices to the following address: Ramin Nafaspour, 18 salman-farsi st., Mashad,91838-65148, Iran. thank you in advance.

  • its possible to see the hour that calls us , if the same number call several times. thank you

  • It's a great phone, high features.

  • anyone nows where is possible to buy de limited edition s55 f1? in the s55 is possible to associate an photo to the list. thank you

  • Hey JJ, if you want a phone with a cam, i would tell you to buy something else. Although the cam for the siemens is great AND comes with a flash, it is, at the end of it, a seperate attachment, and not inbuilt. Plus the 256 color display of the S55 makes the pics unrecognisable on the phone itself. It would be better to get the M55 for this. However, you can't fault the S55 as a phone, but, if you really need a camphone, I suggest u buy the new siemens with the inbuilt cam. or else, buy a M55 or S55 and buy a seperate digi-cam to carry around. This way you get a cam that takes good pics...adn a great phone!

  • Hi, Read most of your reviews, i'm thinking of going for a T610 but it hasn't got built in loud speaker and everyone thinks the screen is hard to see so its a mixed feeling of this phone or the Siemens S55 with attachable camera . What do you think I should get and where is the best price to get one sim free? Get back soon need to get one on the weekend. I need one that takes good pictues in semi dark light or bright days also long battery and infer red or bluetooth. What you think of the M55? Ta JJ

  • Good phone with very affordable price. The ringtone is very loud and clear!

  • S55 = OK!

  • It's a Great Phone. Brilliant features and the camera and data cable is all bundled in the package.Even though the camera pictures are very poor when displayed on the phone's screen, it is impressive when viewed on a pc.Good sound quality when playing polyphonic ringtones and the hand's free speaker is very clear

  • I think s55 is good phone. The price is cheap & the technology is best.

  • I bought this phone 2 months ago in Perth, Australia. The feature of this phone is world class, and this is a typical Siemens phone - with everything you need plus a lot of other exciting features.. Their support is one of the best. I called them twice for help, and eventhough they are not based from Australia, they still provided me with the best customer service I ever received.. I know I will be a Siemens fan forever!

  • Just bought the S55 3 days ago. Was actually looking at the M55 first, coz its basically the same phone but with more memory and a better display. BUT, the design just put me off...it would be embarassing using that at a meeting or something. So I checked out the S55 instead. The screen does'nt bother me too much, and I think its design is timeless. The thing that impresses me the most though is the build quality. My first phone was a Siemens (C45), then I moved to Panasonic (GD68). Siemens are really leagues ahead of the others in terms of build quality. The plastics used are the best i've seen. Features:- You can't really ask much more of a phone of this size. Its got everything you need plus a few things you don't. There's no shortage of support for this model, and the data suite that comes with the package is excellent. I have'nt really had the phone long enough to notice any negatives, but, as noted in some other reviews, the last row of the keypad can be a bit of a pain to use. Also, alhoough the chrome buttons are nice-n-shiney, they also are sensitive to fingerprints, making the phone look messy. Overall....I KNOW its the best phone I ever had, and it sure is up there with the best. A better display and more memory and this would be a world beater. + like i mentioned, this is a Siemens, so it should last...and look as new 2 years later (unlike a certain other brand whose last 3 letters spell out the gr8 korean car maker...KIA! how appropriate!)

  • S55 has only one drawback : the 8 bits colour display. The memory? 400kb? Hmmm. I have on my S55 1Mb, and 657.69 Kb free, so? Ringtones? 38 +4 custom? I have 2 siemens polyphonic ringtones and 6 transfered via PC cable or infrared from other computers, so, more than 4 custom. 500 numbers on phone? I don't know , I have few, but I think the number depends only on the memory available. And the last thing: file sistem, a great feature for everything that you want to do... This and the communication via infrared, bluetooth, PC cable and GPRS are the most important. Also good accu.

  • good

  • i nthink the siemens fone is pants,, its like chocolate dowm your pants on a hot day .. never buy it it could lead to dimentia. i have witnessed this many times because i sell them.. i am a bad person!thankyou!

  • A wonderful technological development. I can now send e-mails form the quiet of my home or on the move. However, I have been unable to utilise MMS, possibly due to our local incapabilities. Otherwise, the phone is almost my everything: tasks, calendar, appointments, camera, etc... the list id almost endless!

  • The only bad point is the display BUT:.....do you think that nokia 7210 has better display??(4096col,128x128)just compare and will see that 7210's colors are very very weak!!!I think that s55 has the best STN display and if you try to edit the pictyres in the pc will see that are much better.remember that in other phones pictures 160x120 need a lot of memory space in order to store them in the mobile, but in s55 need only 5,5-6kb,so you must edit them(espesialy try sharpen from microsoft photo editor)I dont say that photos will appear in your mobile as like in panasonic gd87 but photos are better if you try to edit them.generally i think that the root of evil is not the 256 col.but the resolution which is 101x80(and the pictures has revolytion 160x120).BUT it is still a very very good mobile.

  • Has anyone used this phone with a car kit ? I have and just get strange nosies and I sound very echo-y. Be interested to hear if anyone else has same problems. I am changing mine to NK 7250, as can not use it as a business phone without car kit.

  • This is just the best phone I have ever had NOT!!!!!!

  • i am having this phone.. there r too many bugs but can be fixed by upgrading the software... but the 256 colours and low memory dosent make any sence..... also there is no standard ringtones..all music :(

  • Korx is probably talking about the pictures taken with the camera and show on computer screen. Yes the mobile has only 256 colours, but neverthless it's a fantastic phone!

  • Whoala! have just downloaded the sonyericsson polyphonic sounds and CLICK! WORKS!

  • See that F1 Limited version???It`s the best looking phone.

  • Korx what the fuck r u talking bout???? i got S55 too.. color screen sux.256 colour for godd sakee.yes its a good fone but the color screen is really shit and its missing FM radio. i wish Siemens releases S55i or something with 4096 colours.

  • The S55 is the best, Top colour pictures, the ring tones you can download are the best i've ever heard, better than my P800.

  • Pls help me. My phone was locked. How to unlock this phone and what` about this phone code " default code ". Thanks a lot all guys

  • good point swod. those 2 guys do not know how to utilize the full potential of the phone. they opted to go back to the jurassic features of their nokias. low tech like themselves.

  • I disagree with both John and Tony! What are you complaining about? There are lots of ringtones available on the net for free! Just pick one you like. About the software: Siemens is the only manufacturer who provides their customers with free software updates! Check the siemens development site. Have you ever seen this on a Nokia ?? NO !

  • I agree with John, I bought mine for work and all I could hear is the buggle sound. Its very poor, I have gone back to my old mobile and left the S55 in my desk draw. I just want a ring tone that I can use at work without being looked at as an idiot. The display is also very poor unless at night.

  • I just boiught a S55 and I bought it for work. All i want is a standardring tone but all I getis pathetic sounds. The colour display is poor aswell in sunlight. I am so unimpressed I am going back to my old Nokia which has fancy music but basic sounds aswell when in a working enviromnet. Generally unimpressed, nice build shame about the software designers. It is advertised as a business tool but un-usable. I'm giving mine to the kid next door, very poor except for children

  • i got my siemens S55 for my birthday. the phone is good all except one thing! i've tried to add my own .mid ringtones to the phone using the software that came with the phone and yet can not seem to do it if anyone out theer has any information on how to do this please feel free to email me at [email protected]

  • this phone is perfect.. iam having now nokia 5100...but it is some how big and heavy.... i wanna buy the s55... it is too light and small... i think it is having good features... i need no HSCSD or MP3 player... i need only a small light mobile... i really wanna buy it...,,,

  • plz i want polyfonic ringtones for my mobile s55 if you can help me plz send to me on my e male

  • Great Phone! The display sucks though... and did someone say the battery is not Good? Well you got conned...co's mine works just fine and the last time i could use it into the 3rd day and i talk a lot on the phone...so correction...the battery is probably better than my earlier phones (Nokia 8210, SL 45i) i say if you want a good phone and no bul#@#$#t just get this one..

  • Overall a great performer. Great Design etc.. and i agree crap as far as display goes. Why on earth did they not include a MMC slot - those MP3 songs on the SL 45 were a winner. Gosh! Siemens made a big mistake there. Apart from that it knocks the comp out completely. I love the bluetooth and the kepad is a blessing once you know the trick..cheers.. i recommend it..

  • I stand corrected... So, S55 does support CE/EE charset - if you transfer data trough Bluetooth! I have to check IR after mobile's software upgrade (v.11, 2003-03-07, from Siemens web site) Verdict: go finally and buy it...

  • The stand-by is good(4-5days in normal use). But the display isn`t very good. The phone is a good choice if u don`t wanna use the background to much, but it`s much better than Nokia 6100,7210,6610,Ericsson T86i,T86 and many other business phones.

  • could anyone tell me about the handset's real standby time if it is not switched off overnight and with only a couple of short calls per day? thank you in advance..cause I have heard battery performance is one of the weakest points of s55

  • Excelent design, prefectly design and performed sound system - Digital to Analog convertor and loud speaker.

  • What do you say???? S55 or nokia 7250??? Which should i buy????

  • I've got this phone I really like it, the design is fantastic, their is every thing in this phone, it looks so smooth, mine is a arctic blue color, shame though the S55 has got only 256 colors! Other than that this is a excellent phone!!

  • Software sucks! Camera: it has flash! Any other phone has that? Phone: Hi-class bussiness phone. All ways of connecting I know (cable, IR, Bluetooth). With more colors than 256 and more memory it would beat ANY competition in that class. It's already better in average than any competition (OK, N6310i has better battery and software, others have more colors...) in bussiness class. Conclusion: Go for it!

  • sup reader? got the phone from ma paps yesterday as a b.day present. what a surprise... always wanted to have this phone. im really happy. so i've decided to write a short review about the S55. I believe i have enough xperience to write a review coz this is ma 4th siemens' phone and don't need more time than what i already have. i feel like i've been using this phone for like a year now coz i know everything. didnt even have to read the manual. contents: phone, camera with itz bag, charger, battery, data cable(serial),manual(not complete). mini cd- software pro:functions , size and weight, design, camera con: display and memory. and if u are a hardcore mobile surfer- absence of HSCSD. Radio and mp3 player(if u need those two features, i dont coz i always have ma minidisc with me), no MMC slot. design: wow... kickass design..solid.. really attractive. what more can i say...only weighs 85g..really light...cool design. design of keys is unusual...some might need some time gettn used to itz form. display: oh gee...what were the engineers thinking about when do decided to go only 256color with this. too bad. damn bad...they've got it all bad. the norm is 4k. itz practically useless to use a background image with this phone coz display sucks. s55 supporting background images is a joke. i can barely recognise myself on the phone. pictures taken with the attached cam. aint worth viewing on the phone. Color indepth is however ok for playing games. i personally dont save any of taken pics on the phone. just transfer them on to the pc and delete them from the phone. anywayz, the phone is meant to be a business phone and not some digi.cam or some game boy thinie. dont have any problem whatsoever reading in daylight. only prob. is the indepth of color. im really disappointed. screen is really good. size and everything. features: basically has everything u can expect of a modern, high class phone. just everything and i mean everything. java, bluethooth, supports mms--- would take me forever talking about the features of this phone: organiser (alarm clock, reminder, calender, etc), phonebook with itz 14 entries per contact( etc. one great thing...really great. as far as tones and pictures(icons) concerned. unlike some color display phones, S55 supports most computer image formats: jpeg, gif, tif, bmp etc. amazing. supports midi and mmf as ringing tones. great. camera: used to think, what the h... do i need a phone with a camera for? in fact ma opinion on this matter hasnt changed...at least as far as viewing the pics on the phone is concerned. S55 aint the best for this but tell you what? i've taken about twenty pics with this phone and results blew me away, still do. i would take the camera with me everywhere i go if i could save 20 high quality pics on the phone at a time without sacrificing java appz and games. the pics are xcellent if not perfect when transferred on to the pc. just magic. too bad i cant take money photos with this phone coz of lack of memory... drop me a mail if u wanna have a look at some of the pics. [email protected] memory: way too small for this "all doer" phone. just too small. siemens seriously should have created a multimedia card slot for this phone. once again what were they thinking about? Dont care much about the color indepth but for the memory...oh boy..i do. memory is already occupied. man oh man. siemens. conclusion: i woudnt have any reason to buy another phone if this handset had a better color display and multimedia card slot... a larger memory could do. this phone should however be able to to serve me until dem 3G(utms) phones come out. Dont have any reason to buy the SL55 or the SX1 either. dont need radio and mp3s on my phone. if anything it would be because of the memory. i guess it aint all that bad...for me... coz i've deleted all ringing tones but 6 and pictures on the phone to make way for my java applications. sorry i couldnt keep this review as short as possible. i can write more...say 3-4 more pages... if i address every single thing this phone's got and can do. ratings: features: xcellent-- 9.99 receiving quality. 9 menu setup:8.5 transportability:10 battery life:8 design:10 performance: 9.999 recommendation: yes... go get it. overall: say: 95/100. could be hundred with a bettah graphic display and larger memory.

  • Don't own one, don't want one. Why? Well, screen is too small, bad resolution and only 256 colors. Unit is not very good looking IMO, reminds me too much of my old Siemens M35 which annoyed me immeasurably for many reasons. Not a very responsive and easy to use keypad. Also, I want to be able to customize the way my phone looks.

  • Ekh... I found only one small flaw, and it's important to people *not* using standard US/UK character set. So, S55 does not support CE/EE charset!

  • phone can be found on the street as cheap as 250 in Berlin.

  • camera is a joke, but the phone is fantastic, best siemens todate!!

  • it's very good product if can being cheaper ok

  • to lady/guy...whatever who claims the user guide sux... ma first phone from siemens was the S35. that was the only headset i ever read the manual. ive had some nokia phones but never read the manual. most phones are basically set up the same. siemens, nokia..etc. think the problem is you and not with the S55 guide. someone sells S55 and doesnt know how to operate the phone? hmmm.. what can i say?

  • The answer to your question yes!!!!

  • to s55 owners. are the camera and mini cd included in the box aside from the data cable?

  • The phone is small and compact. The keys are very close together so have difficulty in using if you have nice nails. Also VERY complicated to use and the manual/s you get with it do not explain things very clearly. Probably ok if you are a genius. A lot more difficult to use than a nokia and there is nowhere to get decent info about how to use the phone. Tried in phone shiops and they didnt have a clue either. There is no hope. Back to Nokia if they dont make it easier to understand. i will not buy another Siemens phone again unless they make everthing about them from the using of it to the instructions in the manual a LOT more user friendly.

  • The New SIEMENS S55 is great ! but still needs the polyphonic ringtones , i think siemens is striking back coz the siemens SX1 is coming soon . . .;)

  • i will send my opinion later please

  • siemens s55 is better than nokia 6100, 6610, 7210 so go for siemens instead of nokia who's LCD gets dark in standby mode

  • it is the best phone ever , from the best company, and best people......... i am wondering what was the impression and feeling of the competitors........?????? It is excellent phone.

  • yeap S55 rulz, a little better than T68i i guess, but they could have made a better display with at least 4096 clrs... still the best though

  • S55 is the best in my opinion.Siemens is the best too!

  • how about more opinions please? the more ppl say bad & good about it, the better, plus lets see it in the top 10 phones on the site

  • yerp, its slick! :)

  • There is no bad things on this phone when considerin his price which is near 300 and should be less after CEbit in Hanover and new sl55. Even screen is acceptable on this price!!

  • The Siemens S55 is the most convenient mobile phone their is, it has nearly everything with Bluetooth, MMS, and a camera that can be attached to the phone which has a integrated flash.

  • I agree. Plus the phone is robust... never use a fragile phone, they break up easily anyway. Siemens is built tough and built to please!

  • I've seen a lot of mobile phones from lot of producers. I wanted Nokia 6310i for long time, but had no money enough. Then I have seen S55, and had just enough money to buy it. It's the best bloody bussiness mobile I have ever seen. Has everything I need, and then... it looks good. Ah... I adore it...

  • So how many photoes store the s-55 at same time? And also does it support MVS (mobile video streaming) ?

  • big problem that i just found out about the quikpic camera that s55 has!!!it has no memory the camera hasn't got any memory at all so as you understand we have only 922kb in the phone for everything!big problem!

  • ok first of all the s55 is not a high end phone!i am disappointed at siemens they could have done better!and a question for those who have it does it have a phto album?also someone who doesn't want to have bluetooth, can buy the t300 from sonyericsson it is muchhh cheaperrrr!!!!

  • may i know how many text messages can store in s55 pls thanks

  • Great phone and features. Simply the BEST!!! I recommend it!!!! Congratulations SIEMENS!!!!

  • woot! so it's settled, the S55 will be my phone, SUCK IT TO YA NOKIA :) heh, sorry, had to be said

  • Yes, the S55 comes with a RS232 datacable and software and it works perfectly.

  • Have one and its great - very impressive, all the features that I require. Stable, great display, camera delivers good pictures, and the Software for PC works well!

  • as for that previous post of mine, i am slightly intoxicated, but i dont care :) another thing i must ask people that already have the s55.. DOES IT COME WITH A DATA CABLE? please say it does :) i got that many midis lined up for ringtones and wallpapers too :) cheers

  • some readers are moronic, are you really gonna hold onto a handset for two fucking hours when watching a movie? that has to be the most useless feature ever to put in a phone, mp3 player is practical however... i can't wait to see the s55 come out in australia, its a definate phone I WANT, i was contemplating getting the samsung t100, but its too expensive for what it is. another thing is (comparing this phone to a 7650) in practicality, say the camera component fucks up, with the 7650, you would have to take the whole handset back to the repairers, its a practical idea to have a seperate camera, so if that camera does fuckup, you at least still have a handset you can use remember, its a phone, not a portable cinema :)

  • In my opinoin its great

  • Does any one else tell me when you transfer the photos to the PC does it good have good picture quality or not.( true color..etc) . Does this phone worht to buy.?

  • No! T300 is has no bluetooth and is ... UGLY!

  • Siemens S55 compared to SonyEricsson T300 Display: S55:256 colours T300:256 colours Polyphonic melodies: S55:16 T300:24 Both phones have MMS,GPRS,Vibration and optinal camera. T300 has 300h standby and S55 260h. T300 is a better phone for less money!!

  • 1 word: WOW! This device is a big pain in the ass for Nokia, to say the least. 1 con: 256 color screen. But hey, compared with all the other features you get and the price, it's the best mobile phone currently available!!!

  • a load of shite

  • And the screen size is incorrect. It's 101x80 pixels

  • There's some data that's incorrect: dimensions are:101 x 42 x 18 mm; it doesn't have ringtone composer it has polyphonic melodies (16)

  • it's look great, better than nokia and ericsson ı guess! better phone after motorola.

  • It's cool

  • I think Siemens S55 is very smart mobile phone. With all the latest technology in this phone i,ll dream about have one of this for me. And Siemens S55 is very macho.

  • hello i used to be a nokia-usern untill i met somebody who works for siemens. I bought a siemens me45 (very good!!!) and i never want another brand, except siemens... I'm going to look for somebody who wants my me45 and i'll buy the new s55.

  • I got my S55 on Christmas, and I can say its the best Siemens Ive ever seen. Of course 256 colours are not state-of-the-art, but Siemens was always a little backward. Besides, its one of the first Java enabled Phones that has external links, like BT and IR. I think its the best mobile on the market, because its just the best compromise (size, features, design, usability)!

  • siemens wake up you're behind mobile technology my cousin bought the p800 i used for a little while unbelievable phone!it's a superphone yoy can even watch movies on your phone the features are so many i can't even start naming them chck it out for yourself!

  • the s55 screen is as bad as sonyericsson's t68 and about the features are almost the same as t68's basically it's a t68 made by siemens!the only difference is thatg t68 software is much more stable than s55 which has many stability problems siemens is't what it used to be anymore!read:www.mobile.burn.com and www.infosync.no the reviews!

  • I thing its better if the display still in orange .... that make the siemens very unique/ special/different

  • Why make so much fuss about S55's only 256 colours? We're talking about functionality, quality and value for money here! I am not a German, but please rest assured, German quality is second to none if you will. Prove me wrong!

  • I bought this little chap today, and I can say that I'm very impressed, looks nice, feels nice and can do pretty much anything, and now it's happily talking to my Ipaq syncing the address books... Magic. ;0)

  • OK,I have to tell you this:"How can you people be so stupid?Go to shop and find out, like I did. So,this phone costs 400 $/EUROs.You people should go to shop and find out the price, and the most important:what features does that phone have."

  • good phone but by the time it will be available it will be old technology!i was expecting more from siemens especially the screen only 256 colors even the t68 thats 1 year old has 256 colors!

  • "To pre-order your Siemens S55 please call our sales team free on 0808 100 9250 or press the 'Pre-register' button to register your interest. We will then update you regarding the availability of this product by email." Quoted from www2.carphonewarehouse.com

  • does anyone know when the sl55 is going to be release and how much it will cost...i need to know asap ohterwise i will purchase this one or the pgd87

  • Wow!! I'm a Siemens mobile fans,and I'm very like this S55!! I can't wait to buy it!!

  • i think siemens s 55 very-very good about the design, features, and performances, complete.

  • would anyone instruct me about the purchase of this phone ! please tell me the dealer etc.

  • i want to buy one of these phones!!!!! but i can't find one to purchase. Does anyone know when they will be for sale in the uk, or even where i can find them??

  • Hi to all siemens fan,can any 1 out there enlighten me on the phone storage abilty. is it onli 400Kb?

  • And by the way, unknown "master", what's the point with the expensive 4096 - not 4016 - colour screen, are we talking about the price or the features?Or is it just that you can't afford it?

  • How can someone be so weak-minded to consider that a phone that is released at the end of 2002 can still be a winner when comparing to older phones in its class-let's say Samsung S 100- which came up long before and have better features? And I only refer to better screens, newer WAP version a.s.o., not to mention the shitty boring Siemens looks!...

  • this is a perfect mobile.. i wanna to buy it, by the way how about the cost?

  • C25 is still the best Siemens phone around.

  • The T68i is still the most feature packed phone out and its been around for ages, when the S55 comes out, it will be the most feature packed, it includes Java, T68i does not so whats to say this wont be the best out, at least until the SL55(

  • I never mentioned that the SL10 was not the first one! I have seen some pics of it. But it looks a bit different from the SL55 only the concept is the same (as the SL10)

  • I was talking about this phone not about any other one (from Siemens)!! Lets make this clear! When it comes out (lets say over 3 months, than all the other Mobile Phone companies have good working(better battery) more coloured phones) so on which public/market are they're aiming on? when all the others (Nokia, SE, Panasonic, NEC) have already "stolen" there market.

  • What only 256 colours!! WHAHAHAHAH What's wrong with the people from siemens! 256 colours are already history (for future phones)!! If I where a Siemens fan i would wait for the SL55.. oops what did I just said? Yes there is coming a SL55 (it looks a bit like the N7650)

  • I've been using siemens phones for the last 4 yours, went fromm c25 to s35i and now have an S45, wot I can't figure out is why there is hardly any difference between the S45 and S55! The S55 is just a little smaller and has a colour screen. Speaking of which, wot is goin on with only 256 colours?!!!! The S55 is only gonna barely tolerate MMS. I think I'm gonna hold out for the S50.

  • In appearance, 2 thumbs up for siemens. The features OK. But the main prob is that the graphics layout in S55 seems does'nt change a lot compare to its predecessor. Why? A new looking may in graphics display, icon, etc would make this siemens top notch. And one prob that really disturbing is: its only supports 256 color display, why not 4096? It would make pictures in display more natural and soft.

  • this is a pretty phone

  • Killer!! I'm a Siemens lover. I have a S35i and it's absolutely fantastic. No bugs, excellent quality. I have it more than 2 years but now it starts to show traces of wear and tear. I was thinking of replacing it by the C55 but I'm going to wait till the S55 is released in Belgium. Hopefuly soon....

  • Nice features, superb model, but why not 4.095 colors like the others ?? and why not wap 2.0 ? but a good point for the flash with the camera.. jcs/Brussels

  • I'm very interesting about that handset and i want to know a lot about that especially the price. Oh ya i'm Indonesian, let me know a lot about that

  • I'm very interesting about that handset and i want to know a lot about that especially the price. Oh ya i'm Indonesian, let me know a lot about that

  • Dear Unknown Girl.... well, you'd better think of how you spend YOUR time. And, I really don't care how big girl you are! Ante xwse kana doniti sto mouni sou mpas kai kselapikareis ligaki.....

  • xaxaxaxa

  • Dear Mage! I'm not a boy, but a girl. A big one. And I'm still thinking you need a man.... It looks you have too mach time to write stupid things. Again, GROW UP.

  • Eventhough this phones only have 256 colour is still ok cause u can downdload your picture from computer to this phone with colour.Siemens provide data cable with this phone.very good cause either using camera phone u can have picture through download.

  • This looks like a winning phone, I have used a Siemans phone for the past three years and I would say they are reliable and work well. I look forward to getting one of these phones, any idea how much it will cost? Sim free of course.

  • cool bloody phone...! too bad only 256 colours

  • Woah! Another patriot here!

  • Dear Unknown, I wonder how stupid can you be, as you imagine things that don't exist.... I think that you are a small boy that looks for a girl, but for a strange reason, tin paizeis oli mera.... xaxaxaxaxaxaxa

  • release Europe in december / US and Azia januari 03

  • This phone is good performance. Futuristic and full power

  • Why dont we find this model neither in Belgium,France, nor in Germany ?? Plse advz asap thx brgds jc stalin, Brussels, Belgium

  • Size and display is wrong. As usual, s55 has the same size with c55.The dimensions are 101 x 42 x 18 mm and also the display is 101x80 pixels.Much better, right?

  • I think Mage is small girl without a boy. And Siemens are not the best. It has bugs like any another phone. Grow up, babe.

  • too bad, it only 256 colors!!! if not this will be e good phone.

  • The 4096 colours TFT displays are always better than the 256 colours STN types because of the technology.. This display seems to be very similar as in the SonyEricsson T68i / T300 and they're a shit.. I hope this phone uses better display. Anyway the design is good, but a memory.. Hmm.. 400k is not so much.. for everything?? 3510i has a same amount only for JAVA / MMS.. And another one for 500 phone entry.. I hope the price of this phone will be less than Nokia 6610/7210 which are thousand times better contructions..

  • the phone and its components look effective!

  • I was waitin' for the new Siemens S55, cause I'm a real Siemens-fan! (had all the phones of the *35 series, now own a ME45) BUT! I expected a little more, indeed. I read a comment saying: SE've released such a phone in april this year! (T68i). no java indeed, but it's still lighter and has WAP 2.0 and HTML! I truely hope this is not all the features of the S55! otherwise i'll be waiting for the SL55. hope it's a triple band too, cause i'm going to the US in summer and my ME45 is useless there :-((

  • Im not Nokia fans, im ME45 user. i imagine how perfect S55 with 4096 color instead of 256 color. I dont like Nokia, but they do make 4096 color phone for Mid End, so do Motorola.

  • Dear Unknown, are you sure? OK friend, if you think that a phone is good because of 4096 colours in spite of 4096 bugs....(lol) Come on friend! Nokia is kidding us, they just change the covers on its phones! For example, do you know that the main board is the same at 8210,8310,6510,5210??? Plz, look further...

  • To every NOKIA-lovers: First of all 3510(i) is not a mobile phone it is a mobile brick!!! It is so big and heavy you would have to work-out to be able to cary it without feeling pain! Second, absoulutley every nokia is so full of bugs you'll get sick of it. And when you finally get SW relatively w/o bugs you'll realise: that phone is not useful anymore, you need a new one!

  • Nice thing Can i get to know the price !!

  • The S55 Mobile Phone is very great vehicle that I ever seen.

  • No matter how many bugs it has, it's 4096 color time now (even Motorola E360 has 4096 color with only Rp.2.000.000), i hope SL55 build with better LCD.

  • Because Nokia tests its phones on the customers, that's why.... You will see how many bugs 3510i will have.....

  • To : Francis This is not talking about late or earlier. Because it is siemens, why does it make only 256 color (101x64pxl) while others phone build with 4096 color (Moto E360, 3510i,etc -> mid end)

  • Get rid of Nokia!!! Siemens and SonyEricsson rule!

  • so, what is the PRICE ?????????

  • Even if this model appears to be late, it is a Siemens. And so, if it's a Siemens, it is well engineered and perfect. Nokia may be fast at releasing models, but always fails with basic design and development considerations. The S55 will be a kick to Nokia's ass!

  • Very-very good looking

  • Too little, too late - that's all one can say about this phone. 3G will be here soon; this phone is already out of date!

  • com'on siemens, 3510i even has 4096 color! SonyEricsson has made phone like this 4 months ago (java different only !).

  • I don't know when it will be launched to market(China)?

  • Very good one. Nice one. Unfortunately a little late.

  • It's incredible! Is it water proff & anti shock like ME45? Anybody know the launching date 7 the price, PLEASE EMAIL ME!!!!!!

  • Revolution In Technology............

  • Please don't believe the features listed here yet. Nobody knows for sure what this phone has to offer. Everything is still rumors. Siemens has not formally launched it. So there may be more features than there is listed here. Good design. The S45 is a killer phone. I think Siemens has put a lot in its successor.

  • ok,its nice, but why the LCD is only 101x64(in s45 is 101x80!)also s45 is more weak and only 93gr.(not 97).And why the camera is optional?u have to pay extra for the camera? And my last question:how can u store photos in only 400Kb memory???Generaly talking,i like more s45 that i have pppp so i'll be waiting for sl55 :((

  • How sweet does this phone look? I like my ME45 but the specs on this blow it out of the water. Triband, colour screen and Java - another serious contender to Nokia's domination. I just hope it performs. I just hope they can sort out the 'clunky' feel to the keys! Nice one Siemens . . . . . . . . . . :)

  • I love it, nice peace of hardware&software, it's the sucessor of my Siemens S45 that's for shure. Thanks, keep on good working.

  • I've heard rumors about some 400 Euros... I dunno, I'm a Siemens freak, but if Nokia 6610 lives up to its presentation & promisses, the S55 might get a really ugly kick from it (as they got comparative prices). Nevertheless, this phone RULES! (I wonder about that chrome on the keys... will it wear off quickly?)

  • What can u say other than amazing. Cool fuckin' design. If anybody knows a price MAIL ME!!!

  • SMASHING! very nice indeed too bad I can't afford it...

  • I'm puzzled about one thing! Before u could tell the model's target by its letter: S - hi-end,business, M - rugged, sporty ones, C - middle-class, A - low end. Now they fucked-up the tagging idea completely! So, which is which, cuz this one looks very G-Shock to me?

  • Man! I almost started drooling while looking at the pic! I have no doubt it'll have an phantasmagorical price for the medium-level user/buyer... still, one can dream! Hopefully, this model, its complexity added, won't be in the Siemens tradition, namely full of software bugs. I've had almost all Siemens models and sometimes it felt like they were beta-testing them on the customers :p

  • Amazing!!!!!!

  • when is it available in Asia?

  • Very Beautifull.........Is the First

  • so wonderful
