  • Does any1 know what are the names of the default mp3 you get with the SL45i? I remember listening to one, it was called "FIre" and supposedly it was by Tina Turner (which was wrong i pressume). However cannot find it anywhere and it has bothered me for w long time. If any1 knows plz reply. I recall the lyrycs going like: "fire, a burning soul, fire is to control.." etc for verse and "in the land of fire, a burning desire...etc" on chorus.

  • Lovely little phone, amazing design and years ahead of it's time! I bought it 2 years after it came out, and I had it for 2 years, and it could still compete with modern phones! I currently have a smartphone with gigabytes of memory, camera with many megapixels of resolution and everything else you can imagine but I still want this phone back! Its only two problems were that it was a bit slow because of Java, and the keyboard would wear easily. Those problems aside, it's was an amazing phone! Siemens should make a new version of it with bigger screen and without the antenna and I'll be the first one to buy it!

  • Considering this is almost 10 years old, this I think is still better than some of the models today. The technology today is obviously light years ahead, but this will always be a true classic with the MP3/Java on a monocrhome phone. Unbeaten and a timeless classic.

  • I bought an sl45 from a friend,it was "dead" a new original battery and a new fw made it the best phone I had. The battery lasts very good even with hours of conversation,the design is fabulous,the mp3 quality awesome,and you sync it very good with pc with simoco.It is only a pitty it doesn't have bluetooth (like the nokia 6310i),fm radio,gprs and sending sms more than 160ch (you must use an midlet called smsext). For me the worthy sucessor is the nokia E51/E52,thin,good battery,well constructed,good features and enterprise look. SL45 Pub: awesome :) for those who need parts check ebay.de,there is even users selling refurbished sl45 with original parts for "cheap" 40eur +-

  • The one thing I really x 3 hate about the SL45/SL45i is the freakin' antenna that sticks out. I mean (c'mon mate) phones of this generation haven't got antenna's sticking out the top like it's got a lump from getting hit in the head. This might be the one biggest thing that stops me from buying the S45 over the SL45. Surely, I wouldn't mind the reception of the S45 given to the SL45 if it can get rid of that goddamn aerial.

  • Looks like Siemens got into the habit of aiming for the top of the food-chain if u know what I mean...Namely they forget the neanderthalian previous phone-generations and price their present phones as if they were made out of freakin' gold! Get a grip dudes! it's only a darn GSM phone, not a magic-dick-rejuvinator!!!...though it might get the attention of the opposite sex if u keep displayin it. The pickpockets' too!

  • the gsm sl45i is the best phone in the world in my opinion the design of the sl45i is not very good it look like of radio and it is very expensive.

  • it's gorgeous. i was impressed esspecially by the mp3 player. it has a very good menu very complete. i think it's better than ericsson r320

  • If they would have included Bluetooth, GPRS, WAP 1.2 & EMS (like ME45) this would surely have been the greatest phone in the world. But then they will probably have named it SL45ii :) (but still is a good phone).

  • The Java internet allows you to download all cool stuff such as ringtones, bitmaps, screensavers and games, you will then be able to save games onto the Multi Media Crd, people will design all kind of games so expect to seen Tetris, Snake or even Mario Bros, it is possible for those games to work on the SL45i, the Sl45 will be avaliable from about August/September in Europe and shouldnt be more than the SL45, you will also be able to upgrage your SL45 to a SL45i by taking it to siemens and letting them upgrade it for you :)

  • Well its juz getting nicer..downloadable games,screensaver and already so much features in it.The fone of the choice now.But still using wap 1.1? Absolutely better than other brand of fones now.
