I bought this phone in August 2007 and have been using it ever since. Almost 3 years with very few problems. The camera is decent for a phone, though not great at night. The LED flash acts as a fantastic torch (it has been very useful, especially in a few sticky situations in the dark) The music player is simple but effective. I haven't had any trouble with it. This phone is a beast! I've dropped it so many times with no problems. I don't find the buttons uncomfortable at all. It takes themes for the menu backround, which I like. The only issue I have with this phone is that it uses iMode. This means it has its own type of Java which downloadable games/web browsers aren't compatible with. If you were to buy this phone, get the K550i, not the K550im.

the blue dot automatically give away after some time if you user press the screen or keep it in a pressure so the blue dot come so keep 550 is hard case when in your pocket...

This is a very good phone. I am using for almost about 1 year. No problem at all. Good constant battery backup is for 2 days almost. Very good price according to features. Good camera in daylight shooting.not good in night. good blue tooth speed I play alot of games. keypad is good. a bit uncomfortable in the begining but you will adjust to it later. I dropped few time. still ok. The charging point is a bit of problem some time don't get connectivity. please keep it very clean for best result. I will recommend this phone to all.

Yes it does has a flash light which is enough to take photos during night till 1 meter range.Also the brightness is very high so it can work as a torch light when there is a power cut.

my K810 broke so i bought one of these phones second hand. Being honest its not a bad little phone, ive thrown it against a wall, dropped it when working on my car and its survived them all! only issue ive had is the time resets it self now and then, no big issue. great little no frills phone.

this phone sucks..i've had it for just a couple of months and took a great deal of care with it, and guess what, even if you do, problems still arise with this phone.. it hangs very often the screen, for no known reason, sometimes suddenly turns all white and goes off(even after i've checked it for any virus but its still the same) now my phone's got a big stuck pixel on the screen and i can't even sell it because no one wants to buy it and the repair costs almost half the price of the phone, darn.. and the best thing?its warranty won't even cover it up for repairs, service centers are no good here in the Philippines, the warranties won't serve you anything, best if they didn't exist here anymore! so if you're thinking about buying this phone, try other models, this model needs a lot of retouch, the only good thing about it is the music..otherwise, i'm so disappointed with it..

I purchased this set 15 days back , SONY as Brand has impressed me for the first time 8 years , i m hard core NOKIA user , but this phone is good , yes SMS cannot be like the butter flow but yes it has featureswhich have a meaning not just occupying the space & making unnecessary hindrances. One thing that i wud suggest is that Reading of SMS shud be like watching a video straight one after another & not going back everytime . tk

Answering my own post, I've just been informed that i-mode is the default browser and can't be changed. The only way to install anything is to crack the software. So, if anyone's thinking of buying it, DON'T BUY the im version unless you're into the lousy browser called i-Mode. God, I miss my good old Nokia 7610...

I bought the i-mode version yesterday and it seems OK, but I have a question: using the i-mode browser I couldn't visualize all the pages I wanted. Some of them have the access denied, in account of which, I couldn't download Opera Mini. Does anyone knows why? Are these two browsers incompatible? How can I install Opera Mini 4? (I've already tried the sms link and it doesn't work) Please help me !!!

I saw quite some question regarding what is I-mode and also a few incomplete answers =P I-mode is a form of internet on you handset but instead of going to normal websites it is limited to 'special' I-mode sites. Via those sites you can download ringtones, screenlogos, get information, download games and so on. I-mode also enables your handset to send and receive e-mails. Usually your mobile operator will even give you an I-mail address, which is basicly the same as a normal e-mail address. Of course your operator has to support I-mode to be able to use it (and you need an I-mode HS + I-mode subscription)

just bought this phone and can say that I`m very pleased with it. the 1st bug I discovered is that when you listen to music(mp3) and the phone goes into screensaver mode, if you try to raise the volume it does rase it but doesn`t come out of screensaver mode and doesn't show the volum bar. You need to change the song. Anyway...the phone is awesome and it's really nice. TIP: Don`t install the software from SE cuz you might end up like me with 'unrecognized usb device' and will have to copy your media on the phone in safe mode:D.

Software bugs - phone turns off by itself, hardware problems - 6(GHI) key works once every 10 times I try to use it when texting. Drives me nuts! I am in the market for a new phone. K550im uses DoJa, an Java distribution developed by the Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo to provite a faster, safer and more versatile access to mobile internet services and contents. From what I know, implementation of DoJa in European networks is more difficulte (Japanese now use FOMA for 3G, as we still use UMTS networks), hence it is harder to find this phones in Europe. Still, as they are quad-band, they can be uses in European countries.

This is a great phone! Quality is very good software is great and sound quality is awesome. Yes it has a good camera in it but I didnt buy it for the camera. I have a Canon SLR for that. Buy this phone!

For the primary purpose it was intended for, K550im performs relatively good. No difficulty hearing the one you're talking with even in crowded environments, plenty of functions to choose from, though customers should be warned about about the keyboard, which is extremely thin and hard to maneuver. I think it's best operated by those with long fingernails. Although being advertized as a Cybershot phone, the quality of the pictures taken leaves much to be desired, due to a noise-reduction function that strips the image of details, leaving it ugly-looking and pixelated. Compared to my other mid-priced phone, Nokia 6131, it delivers better in darker environments, while it fails in environments with high luminance (where pictures appear whitened and blurry). As an MP3 player, it is better than my Nokia with regards to the sound quality. The browser is yet another minus. Letters are too large and can't be minimized, it doesn't support CSS, bold, italics, only straight text and primitive tables. Overall, I find it hard to recommend this phone to anyone.

i-mode is a wireless Internet service popular in Japan and is increasing in popularity in other parts of the world. beside that, this phone came with radio receiver, cyber-shot technology, gaming etc. i think it's a good phone. will probably get it coz i got an i-mode sim card. =)

SUX. is nothing more than a bit more evolved WAP with a pseudo java called doja. don't buy this phone. take the normal one k550. have fun!

Alot of countries are now actually using imode including the uk and america its brill if you like using the internet on your handset i get imode free until next august now thats fun its an ok phone but it could do with more features on it

I-Mode is an internet program that Australia uses. However it never caught on and Telstra dropped I-Mode, so i have no idea where they are planning on sending this handset? Maybe there are other countries out there using it too??

hay alantooth .. u dont know anything about cameras .. cause any child knows that SE camera Beats any other camera in same pixle . so this 2 mega pixel camera is much better than n90 and n70
