I once had P800 in 2003, handwriting text with its stylus was a pleasure, but since no more update from Sony, I've moved then to the Samsung Note Series since Note2, Note5 until Note7/FE which I still use today. Handwriting using this crappy OS was infuriating, programmers become more stupid and spoiled and stupid, I guess (I myself has done many programming jobs in the past). Today's Samsung Note Series' (Android's) handwriting software is much-much worse than my ancient Sony's P800, even after 15 years later (read: FIFTEEN YEARS LATER)

bought my P900 in mid 2004. still keeping it until now. not using it anymore but still keeping it as its too good to be disposed. P900 was the champion during its time. touchscreen phone were very rare, when the phone rang with real Sultan of Swing intro in MP3 when other phone still screaming with polyphonics. my P900 was surely my good buddy at that time.

No, its imposible. SE P900 doesn't support that memory. Maximum 128 or 256 mb. I have this phone and ITS VERRRRYYY GOOD! Respect!

I've used a lot of high end phones in the last 5 years and SE P900 is the BEST of the BEST!!! It has a flawless voice command (no voice training needed). The wheels command makes me handle the phone with only one hand. Reliability....AWESOME!!! I have drop and thrown this phone due to frustration from work (hahaha) and I put it back together and it still works! I purchased this phone 7 years ago and I'm still using it ( Oct. 2010). I tried the iphone 3x and 3x I gave the iphones away to my sons. I just think SE P900 is the best phone ever. SE, if you're reading this....please remake this model with a thinner metal case. No, you can't buy an 1GB Memory card, sorry. This phone is old, so you can't buy. But in the P910 you can put a bigger memory card.

this is an amazing phone(although not in terms of the quality of images and videos).. i've been using it for more than 3 years now and it's still working fine.. i just had it reformatted once when i installed this ezitap app (3rd party application) that messed up the touch screen function(so beware on installing 3rd party applications).. i even bought an original casing to restore the phone and make it look like new again.. i don't have plan letting go of it..

Got this phone from my dad 2 years ago. My dad bought this phone 5 or 6 years ago.And... it's good enough to put even the newest phones to shame. Only 1 prob... the paint is chipping off by the camera. but otherwise the jotter function is great and you cant go wrong with a phone like this.

for glen... yes, it support handwrite rocnition. i had a p900 and a p990 i. if you want to write big, for example first A from Australia, you have to write it at the highest part of the screen, down you wrote with small caracters and at the medium of the screen you wrote numbers something like that.... an now for the rest... please anybody has an idea where sholud i loock for a p900? y want to buy one. tnx an hope you understand my english!

to whom it may concern. three and a half years ago i bought a sony ericsson p-900 and has been realy satiafied with it, but in the last three weeks something just happen which now does not alow me to click on names in order to make calls. for example when i use the pen on a number or a pplications. what comes up is a small window at the bottom saying ( level: 60% and also a small screen saying ( lock screen ) with another saying settings. and so i can not get in to call or use the screen. i baught this phone in your t-mobile shop in chelsea london and is completely lost without it as i have some 200 names, telephone numbers and appointments. i desperately need to get this problem seen to or replace it with another p-900 and want to save all of my numbers.my e-mail address is: [email protected] please respond. thanks.

It is a great phone, stylish and good organizer! Regarding with the camera VGA it is fine but not that clear. Housing VERY EXPENSIVE.. This unit is durable it was can last up to 5 years.

The P900's abilty to use MS Duo storage is software locked to 128mb. There are ways of 'unlocking' this via firmware upgrades alowing use of MS Duo PRO sticks with higher capacity. See In its shipped form, the P900 can use 128mb MS Duo sticks only.

had a p900 4about a year now and no major probs,but be careful wit this phone coz its sensitive,if the touch screen is pressed 2hard then it goes out of line...wen doin calibrate,touch dot 1 about 1/4 inch above,click dot 2 in the centre and click dot 3 1/8 of an inch above,it works nice...this phone only supports up to 512mb cards mem stick duo only,doesn't support pro duo,but i heard u can upgrade to p910 software and it accepts pro duo 1gigs.

As a former user of P900 (in fact all P-series), both P900 & P910 are being discontinued. Nobody will buy this unit anymore considering its features. I would suggest to buy P990i and you will never regret it. It's excellent smartphone. Since I bought mine (Oct. 2006), it works perfect and never updated my firmware (since it is working fine so why bother to update the firmware, right?). Until now I have not changed my P990i since I don't like its supposed to be successor SE P1i. I'll just keep my P990i then wait for the XPERIA X1 (WM 6.1).

ok so found out some more about this phone that lot of u guys have been asking for how big memory card can this phone hold and it say upto 4gb but regular ones only. that is what sony told me. someone also asked there screen for this one broke. well just to go ebay and buy one its really easy to install it. and the screen is only for 20 bucks. but if u cant install it take it to any sony service center in ur area and they will install it for 10-25 bucks. depending on ur location. or just go to one of those cell phone accessories cart in the mall and they might have the screen and they should install one for you too.

Have this for 4 years now. Touchscreen malfunctions for 8 months now, and recalibration doesn't do any good. Maybe a hardware problem. The bottom right corner sensor is way off, the other area is fine. Everything else is fine, the only problem is just the touchscreen, which makes clicking 6,9,0,# very hard to do. Hard to call, hard to sms. Well, it's been 4 years, what can I say. Like it very much. It's one of the best phones I ever have. I've got myself a new phone, but I'm still using P900... as an alarm...

Frankly, I'm really been disappointed with this phone and with Sony. I bought this phone in December, and I had been really careful with it -- keeping it in its container. Despite that, the internal LCD screen broke about 3 weeks after I had purchased it. I took it out of the protective container in my pocket, and the screen was all messed up. I sent it to Sony for warranty repair, but they claimed that I had to pay $200 for repairs because the damage was my fault. This was obviously a problem in the product, because I had no scratches, bends or nicks on the phone exterior (the exterior glass was impeccable) and I had been ultra-careful with this fragile phone. In fact, Sony's suggestion to me was, "Don't keep your phone in your pocket." which is ridiculous, Sony-Ericsson basically said this was my fault, their warranty did not cover this, blah blah... It really frustrated me, particularly since I had purchased many Sony products in the past -- a DVD player, surround sound system, digital camera, printer, ... and many more, but because Sony-Ericsson is set up as a separate JV, they didn't really care what sort of damage they were causing in pissing off customers who had always been loyal to the Sony brand. It seems particularly short sighted of Sony USA. This incident really stressed the idea of just going with a carrier's supported phones and their insurance plan. I've lost or damaged phones before, and the worry-free $30 replacement cost is really not a big deal. I don't know why T-Mobile does not support this phone, but honestly, at this point, I'm pretty happy with my T-Mobile service, and extremely unhappy with Sony-Ericsson, so I guess the reason doesn't matter.

As with everything this phone has it's pros & cons. Being a SonyEricsson lover I grabbed this phone the first chance I got. To me it was a great phone. To abdul qadeer: get a new fone becoz if u continue to use it, u will only get annoyed. There can be a chance that ur p900 is not made of original components. Next time u buy a p990, make sure u buy it from a trusted vendor or buy it directly from sony ericsson agent mobile provider. Good luck.

p900 is cool because even though it is more than 2 years in the market, its price doesn't depreciates easily unlike nokia phones. hope p900 can exceed its memory stick.because it can only reached its maximum memory stick of 128mb..

Some Answers : Hans (1) : The name of preinstalled Solitaire game in P900 and P910 is just "Solitaire" that is the text that apears in the application picker (in Unfiled cathegory) and that is the name it is referred in Help. Hans (2) : Answer of AAML (long story) : The memory stick size and DUO capabilities are software limited, internal hardware supports both PRO and >128 mb cards. Originaly it was said that the phone can only support normal DUO (non-PRO) cards up to 128 MB because Sony did not make non-PRO sticks with a higher capacity. Third party companies (licensed to make memory sticks) released 256 and 512 mb non-PRO duo's. From here the argument if these cards will work on P800 and P900, i think they do, at least on p900 however no official details were published about this. Now, PRO DUO's, as i said limitaition is only software-based because SE wanted to sell P910 they did not release an upgrade to P900 to make it compatible with these high speed and capacity sticks because it would have made P910 unwothy of extra cost (compard to P900). However some anonymous guy patch the firmare for P910a to work on P900 (the phone canbe flashed at any gsm-service store with a Cruiser cable), thus bringing to P900 PRO DUO up to 1GB capability, built-in Word, excel and PDF readers, (bluetooth headset and GSM900 netwok functionality are again in a state of argument) and other software features of P910. Someone said it used a 2GB PRO DUO on a flashed P900 (currently only a rumour). Robert : The number of messages P900 can store is not defined, it is only limited by the free space on internal memory. NICK : Sorry, no, P800/900/910 can not save messages on the memory stick, although the OS is a modification of Symbian 7.0 the feature is not present. Yu can use a third party application like MSGSaver witch can make a human-readable backup of your messages to any file. turo : as I said in the ansewr for Hans (2), it may be possible to read MS DUP non-PRO higher than 128 MB (not sold by sony), however unlike P900 , there is no hardware support for PRO DUO's, there is no way with any firmare that a P800 could read MS DUO PRO.

1GB memory stick? NO. by default and manufacturing specification, P900 can only handle Memory Stick DUO and not PRO DUO DUO are only 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, and 128MB. PRO DUO cards are 256MB and above. On the other hand, P910i can handle PRO DUO memory sticks. So if you need higher capacity, buy P910i instead.

There is a way to upgrade the firmware to P910a which will allow up to 1gb memory stick pro duo. This website has lots of info about it & where to get it done. I've had mine done for a year now & have found the following: Positives - More applications, 1gb Pro Duo support, more functionality. Negatives - Bluetooth is affected (I can only use a Jabra BT200 headset with it now & no others are recognised). But coupled with the Makayama DVD to mobile software I have 5 full films plus nearly 100 songs on my memory stick to carry round with me at any one time:-)

You can delete all your messages without needing a touch screen. Open messages with the flip closed then use the dial to select Edit -> Select all, then select Message -> Delete. Alternatively if you want to continue using the phone as though you have a touch screen install a program called Remote P800. It lets you control your phone from your computer via bluetooth as though you were tapping your phone. It's equivalent to VNC but the other way around. My touch screen has just died on about 80% of the area :(

JJT..u need to calibrate ur screen...under control panel go under display and just lookout for calibrate...do not tap on the middle where they indicate but tap somewhere on the left outside the blinking dot..hope it helps

You can use multiple ways - from the syncstation included in the phone box through infared, which is in most laptops, bluetooth, and finally though a card reader. The ringtones should be placed in *drive letter*:\MSSEMC\P-Series\Media Files\Audio\*any folder* - the ringtone will be found automatically, when you`ll be chosing one.

I compare P900 with my HP PDA, it turns out: Prons: 1) No problem to read Chinese novels from P900 IE but so far PDA pocket pc cannot unless you purchase 3rd party software. 2) I love to have gif file for my Flip close, I have Santa.gif during christmas season. 3) Most PDA using type screen to type sms and P900 have both function, I find easier to use the keypad than the stylus to key word by word. 4) Hand recognization make easy writting Chinese character by using the stylus. Cons: 1) no radio 2) external memory too small. 3) the camera not sharp. 4) Media player cannot support limited ext. Overall, I still quite satisfy this phone even with the cons, I thought to change to P910i next year or similar phone, with the 1GB memory stick I hope I can install 3rd party software to solve the "cons". Maybe my P900 senior have a better idea to solve the "cons", please email or post online. Thanks Jenny

had this phone 19months not one hang or crash,its been a gem..it just does it and battery life has always been fair to me.i prefer to keep my flap attached and with all the easy operations from jogwheel to touchscreen its great .i never upgraded to the p910 as it was not worth it in reality.10/10

Mokhlis... for my p910, i just press # for space when using t9. if u press twice then u'll make two spaces. the # button functions for making space only in t9 mode. no other letter provided. that's for my p910.

(press and release quickly) you'll get used to it =) but if it still fails, try to turn off phone, detach the keypad and re-attach it. and turn on phone and try it again. if it still fails, try to bring it to local SonyEricsson shop.

Hey Omar =) you sure its really 1 Gigabytes and it says "MS DUO" only? and not "MS DUO PRO"? as far as i know, P900 can only handle 128MB. not unless if you install a P910i firmware update (which is, i read in another forum, possible).

Hi Owen! Thanks for the sugguestions regarding my P900. I have tried selecting Orange from GSM networks options. It will not show it as an option. It reads 'vodafone UK - Forbidden ; 02 UK - Current (if o2 sim card in) 02 UK - Forbidden (if Orange sim in). I ve tried manual select but even if orange is selected as first in preferred menu it still wont allow it to be selected. I know its not the Orange sim card as i am using it in a Samsung D500. Cheers for trying though!!!

Hi Leeroy =) 1) try to do an automatic network search. 2) see if you cna put your O2 SIM again and try your Orange SIM back. 3) try your Orange SIM using another cellphone, just to check if its the P900 or maybe its your SIM card or your Orange service was cut for some reason (or Orange maybe updating server or whatever). check with your provider if it is. ill try to research on anymore possible solutions. ill get back on you. ciao!

Hello All! i have been using the SE P900 for a number of years now and think it is truely amazing! I have been in the mobile phone industry for 3 years so i do get to see and try the lastest handsets available (lucky me!)although recently i have encounted a few problems. I orginally had the SE P900 on the Orange network and had it unlocked. I then put an 02 pay as you go online sim card which offered 300 free text per month. It prompted me to update settings which i did. I now have tried to put my Orange sim card back into my P900 but it will not allow any signal. I cannot make any calls or send any messages. I have tried the master reset in control panel and also formatted internal disk in service menus but it doesnt work. Any ideas how i can get this to work? Much appreciated! HI Yusuf Adams =) P900 can only handle 128MB Mem Stick DUO. the Mem Stick DUO Pro is for P910i. But I saw an online forum where he upgraded his P900 firmware to P910i firmware (not changing the phone, just installing the P910i firmware) and he was able to use Mem Stick PRO and it was recognized. the memory stick capacity is software dependent and not hardware which is stated on that forum. I dont know how he installed the p910i firmware in his P900 but it was really clever :)

Hi Lord Djibril Cisse I dont think so. The package is complete and the IMEI on the phone matches the IMEI sticker on the box. I dont think they can steal the box too. At least I can still use the phone and I just leave the Lock Code option disabled or turned off. Though "if in case" its stolen (God forbid) its not my fault since Im not aware. My only concern is to change or reset the Lock Code.

LOCK CODE! HELP with my p900 I bought a second hand p900 and the previous owner cant remember the lock code. i want to change the lock code to my desired number but its asking for the original lock code. "0000" doesnt work as well as "1234" or "12345". ive tried all possible default lock code. no success. Ive attempted "master reset" but its asking for the lock code (which i dont have) before proceeding. any suggestion? you think SE service center can reset "just the lock code" back to default, without erasing my data? have used mine since aug 04. it hangs occasionally- with either a blue/black screen, sometimes it hangs with a white screen. have to remove battery to restart it. the blue plastic bezel has been chipped on both sides by the plastic/rubber feet of the flip keypad. have seen this happen quite a few of my friends' p900s... hard to sync calendar and jotter and design a little flimsier than the rugged nokias, imho... maybe the new p910 is sturdier or the new treo 650 a more viable option?

have been using my P900 for half a year and it's a good, solid mobile/PDA. even if loudspeaker's sound quality is not so great (K700 sounds better)when listening to mp3's and don't expect to get print-quality shots with the camera (again, K700 or Nokia's 7200 is slightly better even if both have just a VGA cam). and that the P910's display is way better than the P900's . all-in-all it's a good phone with great PDA functions for the price. guess you can't have a great phone that's a great PDA with a great digi-cam as well, unless you get one of each.

If you guys are planning to buy between p900 and p910, I'm sure you'll go for a p910 but I don't think its "practical buying" coz if you LACK MONEY, why not go for a p900 instead? The only big difference I can see between the two are just few. Some of it are its memory (p910 has more), the 256K colours which p910 has, and the keyboard thing of p910, and its light cover. I think its no big deal for a practical buyer to just buy a p900 otherwise. I tell you, its almost the same. p900 is good, p910 is better! But for me, p900 will surely always rock!! It came first and the first to come always has the last to say!! Go and buy yourself a p900 now! Its worth the money! But remember, both p9 are good..okai! Good Luck!

I have had the P900 since April 04. Hard phone to get then... Has proven worth the wait and expense. I have reired my PDA. Some what uncomfortable compared to some flip phones and real problem when wife uses, in that make up really messes up the large screen. Plus don't drop, this thing is pretty but plastic. Have dropped one and it, to my amazement, was not damaged in that it continues to work just fine...

can anyone help me? my p900's bluetooth doesn't work. when i start it it can scan for other devices but doesn't find anything, and there is no blue light from the bluetooth led. it doesn't show anything about pairing or things like that. 1.You need to call up sony and send your p900 back for repair.never heard of the charging problem.sony gives u a one year warranty and there fast with repairs. 2.I think the p900 memory is extended to 512mb but I know for sure 128mb. 3.It does play mp3.very simple just drag it to your p900 desktop icon on your pc. 4. yes it does play videos or dvd movies if you rip it correct and use a packetvideo program to decrease the file size.

i have a P900 and yesterday my phone wouldnt charge for some reason i did leave it on charge even thoughit didnt say it was chargng and nor was the green light on the top on like it would while charging.After a night of charging the battery level was at 93% but it went down to around 11% in an hour with only about 10 minutes of talk time. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Is there anything i can do to make it back to the way it was. (p.s. there is nothing wrong with the charger as i tried to charge my friends phone on my charger after this problem happened and it charged)

This is sort of a problem i encountered when looking for "the perfect phone" no website including gsm arena has anything that compares the phones to the carriers, like what phone you can use with what carrier, and also, i looked on this site to find out the sony ericsson p900's specifications but then i compared it to another site, every site has a different talk time for the same phone...how do you know what you are buying?!

Pete, i have the P900 and its a wonderful phone. U can view videos in widescreen mode which is nearly full screen, there is a virtual keyboard and u can film unlimited video to the memory card. Watching a DVD widescreen on the P900 is a great experience, lol :)

I already bought the p900, the day that p910 was already available, the difference between the two of them doesn't appear too much for me, I still go for the p900 because of the practicality, you do not need that much memory, and by the way, compared to other phones available these days, p900 is one of those who already have a large phone memory.

We've got both the 900 and a treo 600. My son likes the 900 but mostly because he's got the MP3 bluetooth gadget that works with it. For me in business and engineering, it has to be the Treo. It's got an amazing range of applications available. BUT I would wait for the Treo 650 to come out if your just away to buy one. It's got bluetooth and better screen and better camera

For most software, or at least a decent place to find it try www.handango.com/uk/home Then click on the symbian os link on the left hand side and choose the P900. You should now be able to pick a catergory from the left ranging from Business & profesional to Games and travel. There is also lots of trial programs on there and a few freebies. Don't know about english to chinese but you could have a look.

OK I'm a design expert I know a good looking phone when I see one. The style of Sony Erricson P900 is executive. It is very formal and I actually think it is a nice phone to look at. Sony Erricson are my 2nd favourtie designers of phone after Samsung, the worst designer of Phones (especially flip phones) are Nokia, sorry!!! Nokia needs to hire a new designer they make good phones but they look horrendous, but this Sony Erricson, although on the big side, will definately impress your friends and family. It is full of software also which is always a good thing!!!

O.k im usualy fair and objective when it comes to reviews. ive got to say the p900 is probably one of the best phones on the market at the moment simply because of the fact that not only is this your phone it your palm held pda rolled into one. Ive got one and im very impressed i feel like the dude out of quantum leap. which brings me to my next point. THE P900 does have some software issues and you often find yourself having to shut down your phone quite often to restore your settings. dont beleive me??? try sending a sms message, but before you type your message select t9 input (hold down the * button on your phone) now press 1111111 youll get a variety of different smiley faces that come up then guess what?? YOUR PHONE HAS CRASHED!! so inconclusion thankyou sony/philips for your combined efforts on this device as it is far superior to many of the phones on the market at then moment but if the beautifully crafted titanium case was an attempt to compensate me for the constant times i have to take out my battery of the phone to restore my services. i feel somewhat cheeted. dego.

This phone is NOT as big as everyone is expecting it to be. If your not sure if it is too big for you, go into a phone shop and check out the dummy for it. It is quite comfortable to hold and no bigger than Nokia 7610 and its an amazing phone, my boyfriend has one and it is pretty amazing. I think, yes it is pretty expensive, but your not going to find a better phone at present. In the future yes, but this is *the* best phone yet. I think for those who call this a 'technofreak' phone, make up your minds. What a bunch of moaners. You moan if a phone has left out a particular feature (i.e No MP3 you go mad and take it back, no bluetooth, take it back) but when a phone actually has most of the features you wanted in Nokia phones or Samsung phones, you turn your nose up at it and diss everyone who buys it. Of course i'm not referring to all, just those few nitpickers.

Sorry! I've stuck it out with my p900 for 3 months now and I've had enough! It tries to do too much and while it can do it all, it all gets a bit on top of itself. The handwriting rec. is particularly bad (try writing an apostrophe or a comma!) Worst of all the battery life is poor, when it comes out of the handsfree on Friday evening, it will not last over the weekend by itself, that's not good enough for me! I'm going to flog it to some gadget freak on Ebay and get a K700i as a phone and dust off my PDA again. Having all your eggs in one basket isn't all it's cracked up to be!

the p910 is MUCH BETTER than the p900, FIRST its cpu has 800mhz, 2nd 1GB of memory, 3rd, 256K COLOR NOT 56K COLOR, 4th, the keyboard (kinda small) 5th, a more class look, 6th, bluetooth changed name to quickshare, 7th, it is more expansive and newer, thus, get the p910, we CALL IT THE P1000 HERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

in my previous flames i didn't mention sumsung, my bad, i forgot. sumsung sure does have some nice cutie phones, but they don't even come close to p900, let's talk about d410, this phone is more than ugly, if u ever slide it up, it looks like its unbalanced and screwed back, the fuctions of the sumsung limits the user to do pretty much anything that a p900 could do. d410 is huge, bigger than motorola v600, wider than p900. and screen is almost 2 times smaller than the p900. wow, panasonic has some good phones, their cutie tiny cutie gd55 and gd70, they are the best sellers here in my store, why? gd55 is cheap. it is cheap, and it is very cheap. gd70 has a very unique design to it, thus regardless of its high price (around $250) girls fall for it. but these two lil things can't even compare to the greatness of the p900, thus, let's exclude panasonic out of the equation. sure inno 90 is a nice phone (inno 80 sucks) specially the white colored inno 90 (it has better functions than the silver inno 90 about $40 more) but HAVE U TRIED A INNO B4? inno is a piece of junk that breaks or freezes more often than rabbits have sex. LG? life is good really? for verizion? u gotta be joking with me, their cdma phones are a joke. sharp is nice, but the only thing nice about them is their screen and camera, i guess a monitor manufacture just cannot move a step higher. benQ is funny, they were called acer until a few years back they changed their name to benQ, wow have u seen their phones? s700, p900 which is better? are you kidding me? i have 2 s700 in my store for sale (yes i imported them) they are very nice with their 1.3 meg camara, and they look like a camara in the back, so? k700 looks like a camara too, but s700 is too big without a touch screen and its not even close to the p900. once the best p1000/p910 comes out i will buy it.

last thing, don't mind that the phone is huge compared to other phones. with today's technology we have something called "BLUETOOTH" i currently own a hs820, yes the one that comes with v80 (yes i brought the v80 for this headphone). auto dail, picture dial, wireless freedom. i keep my p900 in my pocket all the time and use the motorola hs820 (not the cheap hs810). this motorola headphone works very well with the p900.

p900 has tft TOUCH SCREEN, so what other phones has 262k or 256k, if u ever seen this phone playing a mp4 on 65k its about the same. also, who cares about 1.0 or 1.3 megapixtal camera, try surfing the web on a gx32 or if u ever used a nokia 7610 (i did) u will know that IT SUCKS why? because of its size, small screen, high price (about $600 without activation) and NOT TOUCH SCREEN. wow , 7610 has 8x digital zoom, have you used it? it sucks, it doesn't digital enchance, so after u take the photo, it is very unclear with 8x zoom. wow e398 has a tiny tiny cutie cutie memery card of 64mb. so? p900 supports up to 128 mb duo, and if u got a vaio ( i do) i just switch around the sony memory card to exchange files. wow palm software is better. sure it is, it has over 5000 of useless craps. yes, some games are good, amazing real time strategy games that reminds me of red alert. but if u compare these games to the virtual rally demo that comes with the p900, u know ur missing out. wow palm software is easy to patch so i don't have to pay a cent to use it cracked, as compared to symbian os. sorry, i don't even wanna comment on that, cause u are wasting your time on a treo 270/300/600 all the same. wow PDTalk has a english-chinese dictionary with camera and touch screen for the price of $330. p900 has a english-chinese dictionary, and a CHINESE OS that enables u to surf website that contains chinese language in java. try to log on to hotmail in your lil treo and u will be stucked in a dail up or gprs connection unable to break though hotmail's java scripts. good game.

Good phone, but bulky. Im happy with it but decided to buy a second phone, Panasonic G51 E, cause I got tired of carrying the P900 around @ wrk. I got a good deal on my P900 cuz i paid 466 including tax, and got a 400 dollars bakk in rebates. I wouldnt pay full price for the phone tho.

At first I was a bit worried that I spent so much money for the P900, but now that Im running a business, the phone has payed off. It have everything I need to stay in touch with costumers and friends and the talk time makes it great for lenghty conversation. The MP3 player does drain the battery quite a bit, but theres worse things in life. For me the phone is a 9 out of 10

I have had the P900 for around a month now and it's a really good handset. The only negative thing I can say is that the video quality is not as good as my GX20, although the duration is far longer and the picture quality is not quite as good either. But then, the P900 does about a million things that the GX20 doesn't do. You can't have everything though and over all I'm very pleased. Go get it folks!!

you guys use the argument that it comes with a memory card. i think so what. it means nothing. its kinda like saying i have a pc with 1G HD, but it comes with a CD-R with 10 free CDs, so that makes it alright. you need atleast 128 in-built so you can free up the slot for other stuff like wifi

But that doesn't matter, I just wanted to say that this phone is just amazing if you are looking for a serious PDA-phone. What's missing on the SE P900? Looks like a lotta folks need to get their eyes opened. This phone doesnt even have a contender. It's the best in it's class. And what do you folks mean by it's big? C'mon folks, I've got the P800. A big larger and heavier than this and I still find it's size almost perfect. I got the chance to play with the P900 and tell you what? It's splendid. It's just perfect and I can't wait for sony ericsson to release the next in this series; larger memory, megapx.camera and an updated software. The P800 is my first sony ericsson phone and im sure im not even gonna use a "normal" phone again. Smart phone with hand recognition, pda style is all I want.

It's true. If you lose the 'pen' you can't write on the screen. You have to buy special 'electronic ink' for them, and use a cleaning fluid that gets the ink off the screen when you've finished using it. It's not very expensive though, and you can get it in most high street phone stores...

I bought my P900 last week in Manhattan for $550 with T-mobile service.All the features work and is great.I love the fact you can add memory cards with more memory space for extra games and applications.the resolution on here is like looking at t.v. If you don't have the stylus pen you still can touch the screen with your finger and there is a lil toggle wheel on the side. you can also remove the flip number pad if you want.the screw driver is included. Excellent phone. quality cost money.

there are two things bad in p9oo 1-too expinsev 2-is not availble by arabic. 3-nokia 6600 is butter than p900. 4-there is no real one in p900 such as 6600. 5-there is no camera zoom in p900.

Amazing mobile phone plus PDA, touch screen system without flip is even better, nokia 6600's picture size is maximun 9 KB now which mean small picture when you send it to some e'mail address, that is bad thing done by nokia.

Comparing the P900 with the SX1 is silly. P900 is much mor expansive. The weight is 116g to 150g. Its 30% more (so is the price. Do you compare Hyundai cars with Mercedes ?

People who do not have P-900 are commenting agaisnt this hand set. I tell u that at moment Nokia 6600 and Siemens SXI are the other mobile competing with P-900. Infact P-900 is absoultly finest mobile in all respect. You can feel a lot of change with thouch screen as compare to conventional mobiles. It fuctions even better without flip. It also get fit in any pocket. So although 6600 and SXI are good mobiles but P-900 has its own class.

I had my p900 from the first week it was launched last October, and from that day till now, I haven't stopped having fun with my p900. Although I think its unfortunate that the supply cannot cope-up with the demand and people are frustrated by not being able to buy one. However, I think it only goes to show that the P900 is truly the BEST smartphone available now (best looking too) and believe me, it it WORTH every single penny you pay for it. It will take some time for the other brands to catch up with what the p900 can offer. Just have the patience and save your money till you get one! Not even the upcoming Nokia 7700 can come close to the features of the p900. Its very functional as a Business phone, very user friendly, has a lot of "Fun" features and whatever you can want in a "Gadget" is all here. There are a lot of 3rd party softwares available both freeware and shareware. Email me should you need any advise. I'm ready to share...

I've seen the Xphone too. It's at www.myxda.com There's probably not much between it and the P900, apart from the screen size (P900 is larger), and the touchscreen function (which obviously means no handwriting recognition for the Xphone. As far as I know, it's not yet available in the UK though.

Quite simply the best "SMART PHONE" on the market. not really comparable with non smart mobiles as it is also a decent PDA. Hence the size. No complaints yet!!

Anyone who compares the 7650 or 3650 to the P900 are nuts. Both models, although good models, are past thier prime and aren't even in the P900's league and are obsolete. Heck, not even the 3660 compares to the P900. The model that more than rivals the P900 is without a doubt it's killer, the Nokia 7700 with touch screen function and tv capabilities. P900 beware!

The 7650 isn't even half the phone the P900 is. It may be expensive, but the P900 gives you approx 10 x the memory (inc 32Mb memory stick), a larger better screen with higher and res and more colours, an MP3/MPEG4 player, video recording is not limited to 11 seconds.....the list goes on....

Typically Sony, custom processors, custom OSes-- maximizes their profits, but there is littel common with this and other smart phones based on more wide spread standards. Buy this and expect to be on the upgrade treadmill for a while. Instead you should consider the USA TREO T600 or European Symbian/Series 60 phone, and even, a Korean PocketPC 2003 based smart phone, over this Sony.. And over time you would get more for your money. It love this nice Japanese hardware-- but I'd never buy into its custom, tweaky, hobbled environment.

i hate to say this but nokia and se still suck when compared to the little known manufactures of asia (korea and japan) as far as features are concerned. all these topdogs (nokia and se) are a ripoff cause they just manipulate the features within diff models . and still their camera quality sucks 640*480 pixels where as ntt do co mo has phones with upto 3 megapixels wake up nokia just started introducing 65k color screen which was introduced atleast 2 years back and they still only have 16 - 32 poly ringtones japenese counterparts have got 64poly same with video capabilities u see the only problem is that these phones are not available worl wide but nokia and se should upgrade to the new technologies very fast and give us good features if asians could do it then why not u nokia or se?

@Aleef Davis, P900 does not support EDGE, but my question is does your network provider already supports EDGE? EDGE support was just recently announced by some network provider. EDGE will not be fully operational for some time... anyway its your choice...

ustronics.com got this and i got it, really good. Yea u can sync the mp3 files using the cradle. You gotta open the file you installed with the cd they give u and just drag ur files to it.

Got my P900 for two weeks now, upload handy day and quickoffice apps, search for mp4 converter to play movie files, copy mp3 files for music, set wap, internet and mms connections - after doing all these, all i can say is wow, there is little you can think of what it cant do now. Its worth every penny spent, no regrets just all thrill.

@da, why dont you 1st read all the reviews from mobileburn, my-symbian, or go to the official SE web site... it has a touch screen, so it has a handwriting recognition like JOT, plus the virtual keyboard, then the flip keypad... what else do you need? a full size keyboard? well try the bluetooth keyboard from microsoft, it might work...i'm not sure.

Thx Tzar. I agree in every word you just said. If someone is complayining about the size, they should compare it with another PDA such as HP and Compaq and so on. Of course you cant compare this with a samsung. Samsung menu's REALLY STINKS and besides it a foldable phone for Girls in pink. I really think the price is very reasconable, cause you get so much + a foldable and removable keyboard, whith T9 and great keyes. This is a feature, that no one else PDA can compare with. the size is actually perfect, well maybe if it is thinner and lighter it will be perfect, but the width and the length is i think perfect since anything smaller will sacrifice the nice "big" screen for a smartphone with handwriting recognition capabilities... all the PDAs with handwriting recognition capabilities are HUGE compared with the P900... if you have tried watching a full-length movie on the P900 you will certainly appreciate the screen, by the way, the P900 screen is bigger compared to 6600, 3650 and 7650... it is the same size with the nokias when the p900 is in FC (flip close) :)

You guys should try the Treo 600!!! Much better PIM OS, more apps, good keyboard, energy efficient color screen (not as large as the P900), and slimmer. By many account the Treo T600 is a hit. Conversely, this P900 seems like a niche product.

I got this the first week it came out and it's great. I used to be a Nokia fan, but it seems SE is coming out with more interesting and more fresh phones. It has a ton of features and it comes with a crap load of accessories. I agree with Basse, the battery lasts longer than what it is listed. EDGE is 3G for networks who haven't got a 3G licence. I doubt you'll see it in the UK as O2, Vodafone, Orange, and T-Mobile all have 3G licences (as far as I know). So do '3', but then you already knew that!

I have heard also of units without saying where it was made from, generally this one will be made from China.... this baby can record as long as you have the memory for it, unlike nokia's 6600 where you are at the moment limited to 9sec (software add on would probably extend this), for videos to be sent via MMS i think sit is 12 or 19 sec. not sure... no Nokia phone can be compared with this baby at the moment, if you compare P900 with 6600, it is like comparing Lexus against Corolla, or a Benz against Corolla, and for that matter SGH-i500 is just like comparing a BMW against KIA

guys, both p900 and xda2 or i-mate are the best at the moment- these 2 are the real smartphones, both are pda, both has BT, good installed memory and lots of software application... the thing is the p900 is more of a phone than a pocket pc (PPC), while the xda2 is more of a PPC than a phone... the p900 has better functions as a phone, since it has cell-keys and yes you can type sms on it.... xda2 has more software available in the market and the memmory installed is HUGE, that alone is a winner, unfortunately if you are a big fan of BT (bluetooth) headset and you want to do voice-dial and voice-accept calls as only SE can do, then you still have to use a 3rd party application for the xda2, and the other negative about xda2 is that it is notorious in battery usage, and has no cell-keypad, and it is bigger and heavier (a BRICK in your face, that is)... on the p900 it has terrible memmory support- duo stick (yikes!)... bottom line I think price will dictate more on this 2 babies, for me- price will surely dictate which one is the winner... basically, if in 2 months time, I can buy a P900 with a BT headset for the price of a basic xda2, then I will go for P900! :)

@samsungmaniack if you can find a phone smaller than the P900 and with the same features of the P900, tell me so i can consider it too in my list... because the only one that can match the features of P900 at the moment is the PDA phone of i-Mate or the xda2 and these babbies are bricks and these are legitimate PPC... well there are also the Motorola A920 and the Benq P30, but both of these are not yet released and they are also huge bricks

Its been always my dream to get a sony ericsson P900 but it is SOOOOO expensive although i am only 14 i have my uses for it.Sony Ericsson has always been the brand that i have kept my eye on looks like it has paid off,i never did like nokia phones since almost everyone i know has one which is pretty lame, a phone i want is one that is unique and exclusive.

@mobility ES you are saying that Symbian is more stable than PPC2002 or PPC2003 in launching softwares? or is it more stable as a phone or as PIM... i would agree with you that SE and Nokia will be more stable as a phone, since that is their main function, but as a Pocket PC for 3rd party soft, then even Symbian is known to crash on 3rd party... PPC does crash but it is a Pocket PC launching a 3rd party soft, just like your desktop PC... bottom line, xda 2 or the released i-Mate in Dubai is a great PDA and a phone, I am not counting P900 out yet, but if P900 will cost the same as the i-Mate, I will buy i-Mate for sure- more bang for the buck!!!

Everybody wants to buy this phone when its released but I'm certain that they'll change their mind after they see the price tag on it. If P800 costed over $700 when it was released don't expect this one to be under $900. I think spending over $400 - 500 on a phone is just ridicilous because a new and better model will come out in less than a month. This phone may be all that great and even if I could afford it I doubt that I would buy it because somebody would beat me up for it as soon as they see it in my hand and I could spend that money on something much more useful than a phone that I only use to talk and write messages. You might as well buy a computer that can do a lot more than P900 (and it's probably cheaper). I own a Nokia 3650 and it's a great phone for a great price.

Children Please!!! Play nice. All this "my phone manufacturer is better than yours" stuff is unnecessary. You want to table descriptions and draw conclusions? List out specs, features and lets put everything to a vote. And as far as smartphones go, I have a Nokia 3650 and a Sony Ericsson P800. They both have their strenghts and weaknesses....but having said that, I know for a fact that I will be buying the P900 and not the 6600....but that's only my opinion....I respect the opinion's of others though, whether they agree with me, or not.
