This is a waste of money! I got mine brand new, within 20 minutes of using it it would exit out of messages, youtube, contacts etc. It turns off by itself very frequently, very laggy, the couple of games i played i deleted because my phone would play up, now it has started clicking on things i haven't touched, saying that my SD card is damaged at least 5 times a day and that it has been removed when it hasn't. If you are tech savvy or even if you're just looking for a phone for the basics, i would not recommend this at all. Phones like these should not be made.

This phone is only good if you only want the basics, one positive thing about it is that the plastic it's made of is very hard and if you drop it, it won't crack. I've had mine for about two years and it started playing up, apps would close on their own and it'd turn off randomly Memory on it is terrible, and if you want to use a sim card you have to transfer everything from your phone to your SD card! quite annoying, don't buy it if you want music on your phone, or to game.

I've used this phone and it didn't last a year. It hangs a lot and freezes from time to time. it sometimes restarts on its own. the touch screen is pathetic. the phone should be called "five touch" pop C5 because you have to touch the screen so many times in order for it to actually work! On the bright side, the phone is very strong and can survive a alot of falls. I dropped my phone so many times yet, there were no visible scratches on the screen. Bottom line: Its a very laggy and heavy phone but it will survive hard falls. :) I personally would not recommend this phone to anyone. I regret buying this phone even though it was cheap!

Ive read some of the comments below . I actually faced all of the things theyve said . This phone is actually pretty tough . i sometimes drop this accidentally but it still work . The thing is that the phone is too slow and it lags every day . I actually disabled the installed keyboard app bec it doesnt appear . slow and always force closes . i even disabled some apps that only consume ram . i have this problem too that i need to restart the phone bec i have no signal . i actually still having the messages problem , i recieve thirtheen same messages in a single day . then i will recieve it again tomorrow . i have uninstall updates of my facebook app bec the phone cant open it . games can be played . limited .

The slowest phone ever. Can't access sites quickly. Goes into a crazy mode and reverses it's programmes itself. e.g. click on something but it will take you back to the previous page. Can't stay on links from another web. Can not deal with adblockers and so refuses to work with adblockers. duh!! why did I invest in such a piece of junk BUT can't buy another one cause moneys gone in this junk already. stuck with it for a while.

I got this phone a few months ago as a gift and we had no issues with it. The camera is not the greatest and as long as you keep in mind it's limitations due to 512Mb of RAM, this phone gets the job done. Sound quality was good, even on VOIP calls, Screen is nice. plays music and videos. WiFi is also stable. You can long press the bottom right touch-button which brings up the running apps and you can just stop them by closing unnecessary running apps, this way your phone will not slow down! If you are a hard-core gamer, look elsewhere or spend more money on a flagship phone.

i started using my alcatel pop c5 and i found that its RAM usage most of the times are high. When you install too many apps, you will end up restarting your phone. there are times i need to turn off my phone when it just hung. I don't know if this goes the same with other android phones. Alcatel C5 probably is the least smartphone you should buy.

If you are looking for a fast operating phone that can multi task, do NOT go for the Alcatel Pop C5. Beware of updates for this phone. Operation of this phone was worse after a forced update. What I mean by this is it did not give me the option to not update. It gave a systems update warning, then locked up on to force the update. Good luck to you if you choose to get the Pop C5.

I've had this phone for a year and 4 months. I had to do a factory reset over 10 times in these past months. At first it was brilliant I mean everything was even faster than an iPhone, I was amazed. I bought 2 of these last year, thinking they looked pretty good. Less than a full year later one has died completely, the other is painful to use. Also they both had different odd little problems right from the start ( such as randomly variable volume settings on the music player etc.) very poor camera. Sorry Alcatel, you made a bad bad phone.

This is slow. Way too slow. Only reason I am using it is that there are apps which I could not install on my previous mobile (a 2011 HTC Desire S) That previous phone, felt faster (it did in fact have more RAM) The screen has no proper protective material, and I got it scratched with minimal use. Do get a proper pouch if you still want this mobile. Getting hold of an original accessory (a flip cover) was difficult for me and was only possible through a purchase off Alcatel Accessories .FR website. And I had to communicate via email with Alcatel to get this information. Considering my previous mobile's acceptable performance with 768 MB RAM, this one with 512 MB should be avoided, unless you are fine with waiting those odd 5 to 20 seconds for certain (common/standard) apps to load! I would go for a 1 GB RAM if I was in the market for a new phone right now (15 December 2014)

Everything was right to Hameruel. Though it is not expensive as other phone but what you don't really know is it is not cheap it terms of endurance. This is better than the new release of Samsung Galaxy V. my Sister have Samsung Galaxy V. Just the same incident on Hameruel, the Galaxy V didn't exist for too long 'cause it broked and its screen did not function properly. What you don't know that buying phone is not about how popular it's Brand, but it is about how long could it takes and how many years it would exist through its endurance and strength. :)

What you don't know about this phone is that it is durable. nYJeolC is very-very right about it. Beside durable, by holding this Alcatel Pop C5 you don't have to be afraid of what will happen. The first time I bought the phone, it do feel some regrets and doubts, 'til the time came when I was sleeping in a double deck, it is 2 meters high away from our floor. I was playing my songs repeatedly with 49% battery in 12:02, I put this phone beside me almost near at the falling part/end. When I fall asleep, I don't know what just happened. Until I woke up early in 5:28 I hear that the phone is still playing. I go downstairs when I look under the bed. Woah?!!!! I was so shock (not because I am afraid that my phone would broke) but I wasn't. I was happy when the phone is okay, no phone critical damage, but only the screen protector get scratch and the metal-like on its side got a little bit damage and the back cover didn't open, and the phone is still playing in 24% battery, and principally it is super okay. WOAH!!! What a durable, good, nice, better, best phone I ever had, even it only cost 3,999 pesos here in Philippines. Can you realize it? What a kind of BEST phone ever... So If I were you, buy this. I am a user of C5 for a 3 month. For me, this is just a fine device. no issue with instant social messaging (whatsapp, wechat, line, viber). some crashed issue on FB (people said it is due to the FB aq latest version, not C5). TFT, not IPS (but dïsplay still clear & bright). small RAM memory (Cleaner app is advisable). GPS sync was slow but precise. battery may produce heat (so, no heavy game). 2point touch, pre-installed analog tv tuner (not require internet = best) overall, 3.9 out of 5.

I got this phone for like, few days ago. so far it has been good to me. Rooted it using MOBOGENIE and it's not as slow as most of the guys thought it would be. A little disappointment when the RAM is only 512mb but with Dual Core 1.3GHz I think this should be OKAY because I think this is what you get with around 100 EUR. The screen's colour is better than my previous Alcatel One Touch series phone. Suggest you guys to download "Blue Light Filter", it's a nice app. Phone Overall Rating: 8/10

What you mean you can't download What's App?? was able to download it on my phone easily. Make sure u select the correct country and your phone number is the same. it suppose to work. probably shut down the phone and just reset it or something.

I still have an alternative idea about lags on phone.. You try to open the developer in settings,then open debug mode, go to drawing and you will find window animation scale, transition animation scale and animator duration scale...tap each of it and tap off all the three...then don't close the debug mode..just go directly to home screen...you will find difference from that lagging state of your c5 phones.

I have now this phone and I think this phone at first to be a great one. Then It lags so much that I want to torn it apart. But then, I decided to root this phone using Kingo root and now my phone works awesome.. Using Ram Manager, I can clean all running apps in the background,thus giving my phone a new look...Despite the lags that was so irritating I can rest assured my phone ot 5036d c5 was a great one..Try to root it by Kingo and you'll find it out what I am talking.. But still Alcatel for me was a great phone because I am a fan of it..

I just bought this phone four days ago. I find it a bit slow, but for it's price range, I can't complain. Back camera/flash brightness is quit impressive for an entry-level budget phone. Overall, a smartphone worth more expensive than it's actual price. the only thing that bothers me is I find the screen to have some sort of "glare effect" whenever I play video files. I don't know if the problem is caused by the screen itself or the fact that I have two screen protectors installed. The first layer is the free "glossy" one that came with the unit, the second one is a "matt" one that I bought separately. Does anyone have the same problem even without a screen protector?

Yesturday I bought it, well, as far as I could use it I can say: it suffers a little bit from RAM memory (512MB); the display is a bit laggy, and it would be very handy if there was 8GB ROM instead of 4GB, because the preinstalled apps are taking 2.1GB... after many visits to service the phone continued with the same problem. (noise issue). Fortunately Alcatel Greece made an exception and offered me DOA. i was really anxious when i opened the new one. But everything now is ok. Probably the first device was default. I would like to thank Alcatel that gave me a new device, and until now works perfect.

What is better? This phone or ZTE Blade Q? Personally i like the design better on Alcatel, its way nicer and looks modern. ZTE interface and android is looking really cheap and it fells like 2.2 andoid or something. But ZTE has 1 gb ram while Alcatel has 512mb. My only need for phone is not to lag, to play some of games like subway surfer and some newer like that. So if Alcatel C5 can play those pls let me know and tell me your personal opinion...but please fast cause i have only 2 days to decide. :)

Got the phone earlier today. I cannot find a way to set the ring tone to my preferred MP3! You get to the file, turn the local menu, and there is no "set as" and then "ring tone". It can only be moved to few other apps! I copy the mp3 file, and try to paste it in the ring-tone system folder, but I cannot get to the system folder... From the settings you can only change them among the 10 or so awful midi style ring tones. If anyone can shed a light on how do I set the ring-tone to an mp3 of my choice, I'd highly appreciate it! Otherwise the phone is very well made, slick, and feels well in the hand.

went to service gave it a hardware reset and some diagnostics. But the problem persists. When the network signal (vodafone Greece) is low the awful noise starts so noone can hear each other. The service boy told me tha if the problem comes back then they wil change the whole PCB CONTROL BOARD. Anyone with similar problem?

mine has problem with the microfone. the one that calls to me from time to time hears a noise that is awful like when you touch the phone on a speaker. And it is really loud that the caller cant bear.i gave it a hard reset as the service people told me but nothing. I'm inspecting the microfone because if i press mute the caller doesn't hear anything. tomorrow i go to service... Hope that they fix it but i am very dissapointed, although it is nice. First time with an alcatel was a disaster....

I was planning to buy onetouch idol mini, but there's no single sim variant, that's why I ended up buying this phone. For me the phone's wonderful. It has a larger screen and has a cheaper price and the BATTERY LIFE is amazing. I mean, it could last 2 full days even with constant usage. :)

I just got this about 2 weeks ago , and it's a beautiful phone when it comes to the size of the screen ram etc Also the battery lasts fairly enough for a smartphone.The only thing that I didn't quite like is the language menu and the volume of the ringing is kinda low so I always have to keep an eye on it ! But all in all it's a good phone for it's price !
