I think it's a very nice sleek design, Don't like the pink colour though! If it also came in a shade of Blue or White i would deffinately buy it! It would've been a hit in England! Shame it never came over here... They really should've thought to extend there market i know quite a few people that would buy this phone!

In Japan , the CDMA network is sufficient for the net too . I should think CDMA and WiFi are the same standard there . Japan's technology is more or slightly more advanced then the rest of the world

All features are good but the only thing which making us worry is 3G option is setup for CDMA only... But it would be BEST if it's for GSM. And the other is, Max. High end mobile are coming with 16 to 32 GB expandable memory or atleast 4 or 8 GB internal memories.. For this kind of model i expect 32GB as the expandable memory to Survive the competition in the market...

as per camera: 12 MP, 4000x3000 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash?. Its not really good to have that phone for just an LED FLASH. WORST PHONE. Good to have SE C901 much worth it. Big failures Sony Ericson if you will released this phone for unreasonable price.

This phone is 90% perfect. The only problem is that it hasn`t Wi-Fi, don`t record HD videos, and the biggest problem (I think) is that it hasn˙t Xenon flash, it has dual-LED.. With these 3 things it would be the best piece of technology!!! Ofcourse, if it`s worldwide :D

I also want this phone. The design is good though i prefer an orange or a white or a red one. The color of lcd is one of a kind. 26m color! And the pixel resolution is the same as most touch phones. But there is one question i've been dying to ask. What OS is this phone using? The availability of third party application is a big thing for me. If it does not have any platform, How am i able to install platform based applications. Java isn't enough. But if it will satisfy my needs, i might not search for any third party extensions. I doubt that. I'm a smartphone freak. Eitherways i have a feeling that i would continue to like it. Maybe use it as a regular phone for calls and sms. And a music player. I am still hoping for its release outside japan. Like here in the philippines. Will it ever be? :( If not, sony, please make more slider or flip phones like this one and bravia, i'm a fan of these types.

This phone looks gorgeous and I realy wanted it but then I found out it's only coming out in Japan, which is devastating. As far as I can see this will be the best non touch screen phone on the market, esp cos of the large 3.2 inch screen and the awsome 12 mp camera. There are plenty of people that don't like touch screen phones and/or can't use touch screen phone, so I reckon there would be quite a large market for this phone and that probably quite alot of people in the UK would want this phone, so I realy can not understand y sony ericsson would not be bringing this phone out in Europe!? nope..there's no mistake there..the screen will be using TFT Plasma Flash screen..it is being said to be 48 times brighter than usual tft..so the colors pixel are indeed 26M..hopefully it will be available here as well..

This phone was released in Japan for au by kddi. Its a Cybershot phone and waterproof. This phone is very cool. I got Sony Ericsson's premier3 (manufactured on for Japan) which was released a year earlier.

From my personal opinion and experience, with these spec: - 3G on CDMA - TV tuner (pretty sure it's the 1seg tuner) - "Mobile FeliCa" payment system (strong indicator) it is strongly promoting itself as a Japan only phone. Most non-Japanese people who studied or worked there will agree on this.

SE is always making the same mistake,there is always some crucial element missing in their phones,they are continously losing market share, but what i can't understand is, so much loss and they are still bringing another phone with less than satisfying features! in this instance it's missing "Wifi" we are in the year 2010 nearly every 4th house hold in the industialized countries have wifi routers !!!

One more important thing, SE is the only company that makes real updates not upgrades and I'll tell you the difference!! When a company like htc or samsung make an upgrade let's say from andriod 1.6 to 2.1 they only upgrade the whole system and the people who did the job is google not htc or samsung. Get the Idea? But what's special in SE is that they have updates which means they add more things like games + themes + more features and apps. Also, they change the UI which gives you the feeling that you have a new mobile! And let's not forget the improvements of the sound and camera! That's why I love SE, because they really make a difference. It's not like copy/paste the os and ship the new one. No!! It's about being different and unique.

if you do get this one and use it outside of japan.. that might just frustrate you... notice some hardware keys there are for japanese oriented services...most features won't work on your country...e.g. Mobile FeliCa payment system, IPX5/IPX7 certified, etc.... maybe SE got sick of those people who can't appreciate them (look X10 thread) LOLOL...

Well I would say, certainly not the "best phone" in the Japanese market but "face detection continuously tracking" is cool (although not essential...). Wifi service is not really required in the Japanese market as the mobile 3G network is very solid there. Have to agree... no xenon flash? I think none of the manufacturers have come out with that in japan yet... I suppose, just to protect the digi-cam sector, namely Sony, Casio, Panasonic, Sanyo、Hitachi, which are all also phone manufacturers in Japan,,, I hope GSM would also introduce other Japan market phones here.. :)

The W44s is nothing, the new Bravia phone is much better than that old model, but that was their first dual open style phone. :) I really hope, that one day Ntt Docomo will enter in the global markets, Ntt Docomo is my favourite Japanese carrier, they are the biggest, and the BEST! :D

I think the 26M is a typo .It should be 16m coz 8 bit colour display ie 256 Progression 3(rgb),for 9 bit it should be 512 progression 3 ~133M
