If it's not the SIM-card that locked, the SIM-card has two lock codes PIN and PUK (in sweden at least). If it's the phone that is locked it'¨s oftenly 0000 as default :) If it's changed by a user ...and forgotten. Easiest way is to use the Sony/SonyEricsson SUS/SEUS and reinstall the phones firmware, from scratch. Hopefully the Sony still have the Firmware for T280 for downloading, from the same site can u download the SUS/SEUS. Good luck.

Just go Sony Erickson.com, chick support, click phones, click phone settings MMS, choose and click T280i, and answer the ff. questions... after that you'll receive a password and use it to activate MMS settings,...:-)

adding to my previous comment , it has a good feature you won't repeatedly see the message " sms memory full". It can hold 450 sms in memory (plus 50 in sim). If the numbers of pictures in the "My files" is alot, opening it last rather long.

I just bought this phone few days ago SE T280i, very nice and slim (easy to handle). Worth buying this phone but i noticed that whenever we download the theme, you can't view it (blank). I tried to goggle n find out abt the theme issue - this phone does not support theme bcos of the display size. Very simple, beautiful design, most of the case is made of metal, and plastic elements are high quality, very solid-feeling phone. It's not a fully customizable mobile entertainment and communication device. It's a phone. I love it. I think it's very close to a perfect phone for people who just want to talk and sms. The included FM radio is a nice bonus for when I'm on the bus.

This phone is pretty elegant for its price. However, some "basic" features are missing especially for a colored phone. First is the "Save" phone number feature: It doesn't allow you to save it as an additional number for an existing item in your contact list; you'll have to save it as a new contact with a new name. Second, the template feature: You can add a new template, but for picture message only not the regular SMS message. Third, the "Add item" feature: You can add animations and sound in your SMS but you cannot insert contact number(s), templates, etc., in your SMS. I can only write about T280 because I have got one. It is a very cool phone. Such a basic phone has got a lot of features. The only problem I have with the phone is the battery life. You may have to recharge every 2-3 days. I hope this helps.

This phone is reli ok for it's price. Basically nokia cannot offer the specs/features in this price range. It comes with metal body too. For it's price is reli ok. But the UI isn't that gud compare to middle/high end SE phones. It suffer lagg and limited memory. But who cares? Crystal clear sound and solid construction, worth!!

hi aLExHs! thank you for helping. no, it has a certain alert tone once the message is sent. and it is not a beep or click, it lasts approximately 1.5 sec. its annoying, i cant turn it off unless i put the phone in silent mode.

The battery is terrible when using bluetooth; it will last about 2 days. Another problem is that whenever I loose signal the phone will not regain it back unless I turn the phone off and on again. I hope big brother T650 does not have the same problems.

nice simple phone for its cheap price.Easy to use, easy to make settings. the only inconvenient thing is , that it cannot send many pictures together through the bluetooth. You need to have patience to send photos one by one.

Some bad behaviour I just discovered. 1. You can't cancel an SMS while it's being sent to the network. 2. I hate the part where you have to confirm whether you want to send a message though you've already pressed the Send button.

This is a very good for a basic phone. It comes with features that were considered high-end some years back. However, I can't seem to find a way to access the main menu during a call. For example while I'm in a call, I want to check the MMS settings of the phone. I can't do this. All I can do is put a call on hold/retrieve, transfer sound to/from speaker, turn mic on/off, call another contact or turn tones on/off. Anyone?

How do you know when the battery is fully charged? The lighting flash does not move. Does the green bit move? The Manual says 2.5hrs. Sony told me when the battery is empty charge for 4hrs and repeat 3 times. The after charge for 2.5hrs.

I got this phone free for a postpaid subscription. I was choosing between the others and I loved the look.. But it can deceive. It doesn't have a group texting like the others, the voice volume is not that loud, like I can't understand what my friend is saying on the phone, you can't adjust the phone speaker volume. So i guess that's really it. You can't hear your caller clearly unlike the other cheaper phones. The camera doen't feel like 1.3MP unlike other SE phones. Maybe because of its color display or whatever. There are some menus that not really a user friendly. You really need to explore, and until now I can't remove the click sound of the shutter tone if its not in a silent mode. You can't customize your message tone, and the first time I tried the phone, it freezes. All I can do is to remove the battery to put it back to normal.. I like listening to the radio so its kinda cool.

Yo I just brought this phone a month ago. It cost me 0.2 US $ with 2 years 9 us$ per month subscription. Good offer i can talk a sh**load. I`m very pleased with it for the price i`ve payed. Battery life is good, lasts me up to 6 days in standby, and 2 days if i play around with it. Good sound quality in the headphones, clear bass, radio with RDS is amazing. What you can do with 10 mb memory. Ok, it has mp3 support, but not large memory. So what can you do? Edit a few mp3 files to lower their size. Edit them to have a bit rate of 96 kbps, with frecvency of 44 khz. and tha quality remains and the size it`s reduced to half. It has no usb cable included into a package, but, rather than to buy a usb cable, buy a bluetooth. It`s good and you can use it for something else too. So, upload your mp3, i can upload 4 or just 1 but longger mp3. after i get boared of them, i just delete and put new ones. it works good. Camera quality in good lighting conditions is excellent rather then other 1.3 MP cameras of other phones. You can personalize it anyway you want. Download SE themes creator, and you can make your very own themes. So, if any of you want to buy, and don`t have a big buget it`s worth it. Very good phone for it`s price. Cheers mates. P.S I love is because it doesn`t have joystick, I hate the other SE models with joystick .

Well, I think SE intentionally made this phone to be simple and cheap for those people who doesn't like a lot of stuff on their phones and doesn't have a lot of money to spend on a cellphone. I think it looks good although I do think that the 10mb phone memory sucks but at least it's better than most Motorola phones who only has 500kb of phone memory.

When compared to a Nokia in the similar price range, Sony Ericsson has lot more features ( Call duration disply, Default dial mobile number frm phone book, More memory, longer battery life, quick charging, comes with data cable and software ). I have used 2 nokia phones, 2 sony phones, and also siemens and huawei 3G. My next buy will be definitely a Sony. I am fedup with this Nokia 3110c, which cost LKR 15000, but doesn't have at least a basic feature a LKR 7500 SE or Siemens phone has..!!

This phone is made for kids and it's very good only for very young customers. T280 have very bad features but it is better in all ways than N2630. Don't compare this two models. In Croatia T280 costs only 55€ without contract.

Center key is actually useless anyway. The left soft key and center key have the same function in most phones, so not necessary - except for maybe in some games. But in games keypad is used anyway so there.

I just got this phone it is really nice, however be warned most sites state it has an mp3 player, which it hasn't. And i have not been able to create my own ringtone from an mp3 file (which should be possible according to the SE site). If anyone knows how to copy an mp3 file to the phone please let me know

just bought this the other day, so its released, atleast in here (finland). looks and feels really sturdy. Has only the basic features I need from a phone. Excellent buy I'd say. Although the bad sides might come up later on, but it's all good for now. Voted: 9 - 8 - 8 bought it for: 92� ps. there was one minus: the ear speaker volume was very low when I bought it, had to read the manual to get it higher (just press up or down during a call to adjust it)

And that's why I simply love their models and the way they exercise their business policy, i.e, phones satisfying the entire spectrum of society and for all the economic strata. Lovely indeed. The design and the policy behind it. My most hearty "Welcome Back" to our good old T series. Enough of sliding the slides in children's parks.

Bought a T250i and I am delighted with the build quality and design for such a low price, 79 euros here in belgium, The only thing that misses is a bluetooth connection and a better camera, well I just found my future phone the T280i, very good compromise with essential capabilities but high end build quality and design :)

This model is better than T250i, because it's have bluetooth and mp3 ringtones functions. And T280 style is very nice for a lot of people. Good job, SE!

Hi guys! Just think what you say!This phone is a cheap phone just for the basic use(calls,sms,radio...)!It's not a walkman,mp3 player or cybershoot cam! If you want a cam just buy k850i,if you want a smartphone you can buy P1i and if you want mp3 players SE has a lot(w880,w660,w610,w580,w910 and more) with the sound quality that only SE can give you(cause of SONY master of the sound). So,i say that this phone is just for the basic use...some people does not want all this craps that we "tech maniacs" want from a phone!!!! SE RULES ! ! ! ! !
